Hiya!
We're home again, still jetlagged... it's going to take us a while to get back to our normal time zone. It's a bit hard trying to get Aadi to have dinner or go to bed before 9pm, since that is technically mid-afternoon for him still. We're still wide awake at 3am, so I don't know how DP's going to handle going back to work and having to be up at 6 tomorrow! And it's so freaking cold! Hate it.
Anyway, Aadi was really good on the flights back. It was over 24 hours in the end, as our flight out of Dubai was delayed and we had to sit on the tarmac for over an hour. Aadi started walking a few days before we left, so we spent a lot of the flight walking with him up and down the aisles, and he spent a lot of time flirting with the flight attendants (several of which DP had actually recruited before he left the airline industry a few years ago).
Also saw my old boss (the one who fired me for being pregnant) on our flight. I was so tempted to spit at her... stupid cow.
Aadi was biting me more before, then stopped for a while, but has started again. For some reason, he thinks kisses have to include teeth!
It's very strange to see him stomping around the house in his ugg boots now!
For most of the holiday we had to resort to feeding Aadi jars of food that were just puree, as that was all that was available. He refused to eat anything I cooked for him with any texture or lumpy bits that previously he would have devoured. Then in France there was a huge selection of ready-made meals for babies and toddlers, but we had to keep giving Aadi the ones for under 12-months since he would spit out everything and refuse to eat any more if he encountered a grain of rice or small piece of pasta. Then he discovered French bread and Boursin cheese... and brioche, and croissants. He wouldn't eat anything else!! Oh, except for creme brulee. Cheeky kid, has expensive taste! Now he wants to eat what we're eating, providing it's not rice or anything with "bits" in it. I'm having a hard time getting him to eat much now we're home, except porridge for breakfast, and bread with Boursin cheese! Even went to the French bakery to get him brioche today, since I can't be ar$ed making any right now. This kid is spoiled!
Of course, the last 2 nights in France Aadi slept straight thru. Then we went and ruined it all by travelling again... he's been sleeping 8-9 hours straight, but from 2am, so we need to fix that somehow. Then when he has a nap during the day I've had to wake him up after 2 hours. It's really quite bizarre! I can't get him back in his cot again though. Screamed for 3 hours last night when I tried, and I just can't listen to that anymore. He was hysterical and shaking, and I felt awful. Put him back in the single bed, which he was getting used to in France, and he slept instantly.
How's everyone? Hope you're all doing well.
