Abb- i'm still offereing boob but some feed she just screams... i'm not getting the letdown feeling and even when i try to squeeze some out i dont get much... and honestly i think she has gotten lazy to suck also... But today i am feeling better about it... she just downed 150ml from the 200ml bottle and this morning and had 100 mls then after 1/2 a bananna she had 40 mls of water... YAY 1st time... (i made it warm like the bottle) Glad hamish slept better and hope you did too...
I'm testing the bananna to see if it gives her an eczema flair up.. (chn told me it can cause a flair up) no reaction so far... Anyone else given bubs bananna... DD loved it but it was SOOO messy... hehe... she was covered in mushy goo... I just brought baby yoghurt so will try that... have given DD cheese but she didnt like it but is happy to eat a little bit of our cheesy pasta bake...
Bec - Also yeah i heard the same thing bout Stank on FB... Poor little boy... But he's ok so thats the main thing... do you have FB??? Wish we had some hills round here would make the walk a bit more challanging...
Sass- DP is away for just the week.... he doesnt go away often but every now and then they need him to go away for a week or 2... its not TOO bad... but the kids miss him heaps... (Mee too)
Wonder how NaNa is going???
Deancey, Mecil, girl, and Mis_tree, sarah H and NaNa missing... anyone else??? wow i have trouble keeping up and we are only 1/2 a group... hehe

Jess i give Hamish banana almost every day, i find its a good thing to take with you if not sure how long you will be away from home, quick and easy. I mix banana in his custard and have just started giving Hamish bread, yesterday i put vegemite on it but today i mashed a bit of banana on it, he loves bread just like his mum.lol
-
Hi everyone. I sincerely hope all the mothers and babies are doing well.
Yes, Jess I am here.
I received a phone call telling me my child health nurse is on leave for 4 weeks. I spoke to a CHN near my area- she was no good. Now I don't know what to do. I might call somewhere else tomorrow to see what they can do for me. I got Yasmeenia to sleep by 10:30pm tonight. It is 11:40pm now. The heat is really getting to her the poor thing. Since 10:30pm the air conditioner has been on. She doesn't sleep well without it. I noticed she wakes up within 10 minutes of me turning it off. Even during the night, she wakes up because she is hot, not because she wants to feed. She doesn't feed much at night. She would rather sleep but she does wake up crying usually wanting to know if I am there or goes back to sleep. Hopefully tomorrow is going to be easier. I also hope arrangements can be made for sleep school. Thanks for thinking about me Jess. I am still a little upset about her going to sleep late.
Summer classes started today. I need to buy my text book.
-
Today, Yasmeenia had dinner with us. She ate the same food. Mini pasta, minced meat sauce with potatoe. She played around with it though. I feed her bread twice with butter, gets thrown around too. I seriously need to know how much she weighs, actually I am dying to know. I need to find a new CHN in this area.
Abb,
Tomorrow I am going to try bread with banana and bread with avcando the day after. She seems to like banana, so with bread should be good.

Hey everyone! I'm back!!
It seems like forever! I've been trying to get on BB for the last week or more, but every time I got a chance to get online something would happen and I'd have to go, or BB wasn't working! And maybe I'm paranoid, but I stopped getting the daily digests by email and my ticker disappeared... anyway, we had a great time on our first family holiday, and it was a wonderful opportunity especially for DP to really bond with Aadi and spend some quality time together. I got to have a few breaks as well, and there was always someone around who wanted to play with Aadi or carry him for a bit.
He's grown SO much! He went for his first real swim in a freshwater lagoon in the middle of a forest, and then at the beach, and also at a rockpool in a rainforest creek. He loved it, especially the waves at the beach. There was a photographer staying with us at Christmas time, and we discovered Aadi's extroverted side. He just loved the attention and bright lights, and he's such a poser! Also, he's become extremely vocal, and every morning now he wakes up and babbles for a good half an hour. It would be cute if it wasn't so loud, and at 4.30!! Every couple of days for the last 2 weeks he's started a new sound, and he practises them all together before pulling my hair and kicking me to get me up and out of bed. Such a bully! :) Today it's "nen nen nennennennehh jiajajajaja" which means "I have big sharp teeth that I'm going to bite you with!". His second top tooth is cutting thru, and it's making him a bit atrocious, and he's biting my shoulders every time I pick him up. Savage!
Um, solids... he went off them for a bit, but it was sooooo hot, I'm not surprised. He just wanted to drink lots, and we had to lie down to feed because it was all sweaty and uncomfortable to hold him. He fell asleep with every feed though, so I have to break that habit now that we're home. He's back on two meals a day now tho, and his appetite is picking up slowly.
Aadi has decided to go back to just commando crawling, but is now pulling himself up on the furniture and standing whenever he can. He's also doing that dreadful grunting thing that a few of you have mentioned... it's so loud sometimes, and it can be quite embarassing!! He did it today in the middle of the supermarket, then shouted and screamed until he was all red in the face, and threw a major tantrum, so I had to take him out and put him in the car. DP finished the shopping, so naturally forgot everything even though he had a shopping list. Men...
Anyway, I have loads of unpacking and cleaning up to do still, so I'll come back later for personals. I hope you're all doing well, and I'll try and finish reading all these posts properly this evening.

Oh my goodness. I am so happy today. Yasmeenia had her two naps (total of 3 hours), she usually has 2, 2 hour naps. She was in bed by 7:30pm, woke up at 9:30pm quick feed, back in her cot, she cried for 8 minutes and settled herself. I pray tomorrow is the same. I also managed to do a bit of reading and answering questions as she played this morning. It's 10:10pm - home alone relaxing by myself. I needed this time, sent DH out! Out! Out with his friends so I can have alone time. It has been tough these days. Really tough. Maybe next weekend we might go out as a family and do something. Water based activities I was thinking because it is hot! I hate the heat. The air conditioner is always on. And mostly, I hate cooking, especially in this weather. I can't stand cooking lately. I hate it with passion but I have to cook because at the end of the day, I need to feed myself, hubby and sometimes Yasmeenia if the food is not spicy. I hate cooking!
Yasmeenia loves her walker. She loves bouncing up and down. I need to buy a high chair. Any suggestion ladies?
I already have a pram, would it be stupid to buy another one? Especially since DD is 7 months?
-
11:43pm she is still asleep . I am so happy.
Nana,
I loved your tricker so I decided to get a new one :D.
-
Ok, so I didn't get back online last night... too tired. Aadi's asleep now, so I'll do my best to cram in as much as I can before he wakes up!
Sassy - OMG, how could your friend not know?? Whatever, stranger things have happened, I s'pose... just hope her and her bubs are ok! How are you going back at work now? Is it better with the reduced hours? I hope it's easier for you and not so stressful. You need some energy and time for yourself. I wonder when Jayda will get some teeth!? My friend's son is a day younger than Aadi and he doesn't have any teeth either. His mum reckons Aadi will have a whole mouthful before her boy even gets one tooth! All kids get teeth eventually tho! In their own time. Hopefully they'll all pop up nice and easy, and you wont have too much more sooking to deal with.
Jess - I hope you're over the tonsillitis. Bleurk, it's so horrible! I used to get it a lot too, so I don't know how you're handling it with two kids to look after! I could barely look after myself... You've done really really well to get to 7 months breastfeeding, and you've been thru so much in order to keep trying so I hope you're proud of yourself. It's quite an achievement! And maintaining such a positive attitude about it even if it's just about over, that's great. Personally, I'd be happy to be able to wear normal bras again, and not go around with milk on my shirts all the time! I'm pretty over that... I still can't get my head around wearing BF-friendly clothes, it's so hard to get dressed to go out knowing that you might have to get your BBs out discreetly!
Bec - yay! Cameron crawled! Look out, house! At least you got your Christmas tree packed away before that happened... could have been dangerous! It's great that he's getting so talkative now too. What a clever boy! As for giving bubs milk, I'm personally going to wait until Aadi is over 12 months, as I'm lactose intolerant and there's a pretty good chance he is too. I had something with cream and milk in it last week and it made me so sick, and Aadi was unwell too. The milk proteins are too hard for him to digest, and they're carried thru in breast milk. It's not so much the lactose, as it's in breastmilk as well, but the proteins. Or something like that. Either way, I've still got too much milk of my own to need to give him some from another animal!
Abb - congrats on DP's promotion! That's great, especially if it means you don't have to work as much. I hope Hamish is back to his old self again now. I know what you mean about those nights from hell... we've had a couple of those lately, but I'm pretty sure it's due to the top teeth cutting thru. It's certainly no fun when it happens on holidays, and we were tempted to come home early too. It's great that Hamish is clapping and waving! That's awesome! Aadi has waved a few times now, the first time was at my mum's partner. He also said his name (Andy) so he was thrilled. Now Aadi starts to wave, then as soon as he realises what he's doing he stops and looks at his hands. Silly boy :)
Nikki - I hope Abbie gets thru this clingy phase soon! It must be really hard for you. Wow, you got spoiled for Christmas! New laptop must be fun. I got a Bunnings gift voucher... special, no?? Shame about the MIL issues... you can borrow mine of you like! She's lovely, and doesn't speak english, so it's a pretty good deal ;)
Mecil - nice to hear from you again! Good to hear that things are going well for you guys. I'll have the vegie mush rather than buttons and rubber bands any day! lol!
Deancey - congrats on Liam's first tooth on Christmas day!
Girl - well done on getting Yasmeena to sleep! I hope you can sort out a regular routine and keep it going. I can't believe your neighbour called the police, especially if she has kids of her own. How's the study going? I know what you mean about hating cooking... I used to be a chef, and working in places like Dubai where it's 50 degrees plus in the kitchen just makes you want to crawl into the fridge and go to sleep!! I'm ok with it now, and I'm off to make up a triple batch of cookies to say thanks to my neoghbours for keeping an eye on our house and collecting our mail while we were away!
Ok, kiddo's awake, gotta go... I hope I didn't miss anyone!!

Hi All,
Just going to do post about us, as don't think I'll have time before Cam wakes to do personals, especially as gotta go hang his clothes out any moment now.
Had a busy few days. I met up with the ladies and bubs from mothers group on friday, hadn't seen most of them for about 2 months, as we'd all kinda got busy with holidays and christmas things going on. We met at a park along the beach. It was nice to see them again and see how much their bubs have grown...its amazing what can change in 2months. I felt so bad though, as when I noticed when I got home Cam was a little sunburnt...GRRR!!! (angry at self). Silly me forgot to pack his hat...as I had washed it and put it back with his swimming stuff (as always put it on when he goes swimming - it's the only time he really goes in the sun). I did cover him in suncream (even his hair) and sat in the shade, but I kinda missed a little spot just under his eyes (as was trying not to get it in his eyes) and his head was a tad red too. I've now got another hat now...which will always remain in the bag. The redness disappeared the next day though, so it wasn't too bad...but never again...naughty mummy.
Then Friday night we went to our friends whos got the foot cancer...she is going in tomorrow to have it cut out and will find out what will happen next from there. She was so excited to see Cameron, so it was good to be able to cheer her up. We don't talk about her cancer though, she is very sensitive about it, so there was a few awkward moments. Very opposite to my other friend with the hodgkins lymphoma, who is so chatty and positive about it. She is also been very kind to offer to look after Cameron when I go back to work too, on the Thursday and Friday and at this stage am considering it.
I heard back from the child care centre and the silly people wanted us to start the 2days by end of January. I had to remind them that I only wanted 1 day from late February then 2 days from May. They will need to fill that place with someone else for now, but said they should be able to suffle kids around by May for us. But with this friend offering to look after Cameron and then my Mum also able to look after him...I'm not concerned if we don't get in for a little longer. I would like him to go to child care at some stage though, as I want him to mingle with other children (we don't see other friends bubs as often as we should).
I've still been giving Cameron cow's milk on his cereal in the mornings, still no problems. I wouldn't think Cameron would be likely to be effected by anything, as DH and I (and our families) don't have any allergies to anything so I guess we are lucky there. Thinking I might mix some grated cheese in his vegies tonight.
Well better go, it's taken me about 40mins to type this, as ducked off to do some housework in between, and now Cam's up. Hope everyone's having a nice weekend.
Bye for now

:hello: Nana
Glad you are back, have been wondering how things were on your holiday. Seems like you had a great time and aadi had a experience with the heat and atleast you know he loves the water anykind by the sounds of it. I took Hamish to the beach Friday he loved it also but was a bit hesitant with the water, the ocean is very cold here not like qld water. Hamish is back to normal now i think *crosses fingers*, he has slept through last 3 nights again but top teeth are still not cut yet. soon hopefully.
Girl :woot: on yasmeena sleep, i hope it continues for you, especially now you are back to studying.
Bec Hamish also got a little sunburnt, he had sunscreen and a hat on, it was hard to avoid without being indoors all day, his was only a light pink and was also gone next day but i did feel terrible.
Dont really have alot to tell atm, everything is slowly getting back to normal around here, Dp is officially back to work tomorrow, although he did go in a few times last week whilst on holidays. Will be busy getting Maddi's things for school this week, dont want to leave everything until week before as alot of the time the stores are out of things and she would freak if she didnt have everything for secondary school it is a big deal for her to have same as everyone else. Hamish has been pulling himself up on things also, we were at a friends today and he was trying to stand up by pulling himself up on a dolls house but instead pulled it back on top of him falling on his back on the floor, he started giggling as if it was a good trick, was very funny to watch. Ok i best be off to bed.
-
So far so good. Although she slept a little later today, around 9ish but that's okay.
Sassy,
No teeth for the little one? Don't worry she will get there.
Jess has disappeared. The little ones must be keeping her busy.
-
Great to see you Mis-Tree. Sorry to hear Jess' DD is sick. Make she have a speedy recovery.
Today DD had one nap. So she went to bed at 6pm, she is still asleep. I accidently woke her up when I went into the bedroom to get something. I played with her for a few minutes, she wasn't in the mood despite the laughs and smiles she wanted to go back to sleep.
I hate cooking!

Howdy Doody ladies...
Well things here havnt been going well... With DP away last week, me sick and now looks like DD is sick also... Saturday & Sunday she was very sleepy all day (which i didnt mind) had a touch of mouth thrush and yesterday she was out of wack tummy seemed very unsettled she hardly had any routine just drinking when she felt like it... and only a small amount at a time... Then come afternoon she woke up with a temp... i thought it was from the HOT room (had the fan on but was stinking hot in her room) after 2 hours of not getting cooler i ran her a bath and gave her some neurophen. She was in bed by 6.30 and slept til 6 this morning. (YAY on that part) Woke up this morning and another fever... Her wee really smels yuk so not sure whats wrong with her... could be teething, tummy bug, maybe tonsilitis from me, who knows... i've been trying to get her to drink water or the hydrolite stuff (for dehydration) but she wont. sshe keep grabbing for booby but were on full bottles now and i have none at all.... :( Cant believe it first few days on only bottles and she's sick...
Well diet went out the window this weekend... Dp got home on saturday and we just spent the whole weekend together and it was kinda nice to not worry about cleaning or dieting etc... just relaxing and enjoying our time together... Well off for a walk... gotta get back on track the weight wont come off on its own.
-
jess: i know wat u mean abotu deit goign out the window. y cant being health be easy lol.
-
Hey Mis-tree! welcome back! Gosh, I hope things improve with the respiratory problems... you guys are having a hard time with that! I just want to send you my vapouriser, it's sitting in my dining room doing nothing... :) (on a chair, too. My place is a mess!) Good luck with the allergy testing, I hope it's not an egg allergy. That would be a PITA, and you don't need any extra hassles, but there's some great support websites with heaps of helpful info on products to avoid and substitutes and all that, if that's what the tests show. I used to cook for a childcare centre with four kids with a different anaphylactic allergy each, but two of them were eggs and sesame products (together). It's not so hard. But then, it's not recommended that babies eat eggs, or at least egg white, until after 12 months. I guess now you know why! Well, either way I'm sure you'll manage fine... can't comment on your XP tho! I'm glad you have your sister and mum there for support, especially while you're both sick.
Jess, sorry to hear things aren't great with Tiahna. The extra sleep is good, but not when you know it's because she's not well. Poor bubba! Sounds very much like teething symptoms to me. I guess it could be another top tooth coming thru? Aadi's been the same for the last week, temps up, sleeping more, feeding heaps... and the stinky wee! Ewww!! I changed DS at 2:30 this morning coz I couldn't handle the smell! Hope you're all feeling better soon! Diet is a nasty four-letter word, I despise it.
It's been a rough night here last night. Aadi's in pain and screaming because of his top tooth cutting thru. He's got one, but the other one is just taking it's time and it's driving us all a bit nuts. He's so sensitive, if he finally goes to sleep and I move, he screams. If he rolls over in his sleep he screams. He's so clingy when he's awake, and then gets aggro and upset if I put him down to play for more than 30 seconds. The most toxic-smelling poo came out of him today, it was putrid! TMI!! I've never experienced anything like it, though, and he screamed and screamed from the first fart to the time I got another nappy on him and pulled him off the change table! He's wanting to feed all the time, up to three times a night and practically all day, so I'm drinking loads of water and aktavite. It doesn't help that it's 37 here today and I'm soooo tired... Things were going great for a while there, but the reality of it being just me and him all day is making us both a bit cranky now. He's finally having a nap, so I think we'll head to the pool this afternoon. I'm going to have a snooze with him for a bit now tho. My eyeballs feel like they're going to shrivel up... yes, the holidays are well and truly over!
-
It is so hot here today... yuck
I love the beach and have been taking hamish nearly everyday as we only live around 100metres from the ocean, but today is just way too hot for bubs. Maddi has gone with my sister and her kids, she texts me every now and then about how beautiful the water is and she jumped off the pier , kinda not happy about that as firstly it is prohibited by the local police and also wanted to do it too..lol Use to jump of it all the time when i was a kid and well yeah adult, havent really grown up when it somes to water. Hopefully if it cools off this afternoon we will join everyone.
Jess - hope you are feeling better soon, and hopefully it is just teething with tiahna and she isnt getting tonsilitis aswell. On the diet thing, i started and stopped and started again but i am not very strict on myself so i need to get cracking as it will no drop off on its own.
Mis - good to see you back on here again, i noticed you ans stanks are not well again, poor little fella, has had a very rough trot lately and now you having it aswell, as NaNa said its good you have family to help. And as for your ex Dp he sounds like he will never learn.
Hamish is sleeping fine again and the feeding is almost half and half, i cant seem to produce enough milk for him but i am trying my utmost to keep feeding but i think im only kidding myself. At the moment i feed him when he wakes and around lunch time then i top up with formula then i feed late afternoon and he has formula at night time. So its not too bad, i would like to hang on as long as possible but i know i have done a good job to get this far so i wont be too disappointed if i have to stop. Hamish is still not crawling properly but pulls himself up on furniture and anything he can atm. I best brave the heat and hang the last load of washing out while he is sleeping.
Hi to everyone else.
Deancey you must be getting excited/nervous about starting your course soon. I have enquired about doing the return to nursing, as it is 5 years since i have worked in industry i am entitled to a government grant, just looking into specifics atm.
