Sassy - you're lucky Jayda's not teething yet! It's not much fun. SOme kids don't get teeth till 9 months or so. And you're also lucky you only sometimes have to struggle to get her to sleep, and then she sleeps thru. oh, how I long for that to happen... :lol: these kids are all so different, but all lovable bundles of trouble! Aadi goes to sleep without a fuss normally, but most of the time it's in my arms still, unless he's in the pram or the car. We still feed-to-sleep sometimes, but I dont mind, since it's quiet, happy time we spend together and I know he can go to sleep without a feed too.
I reckon food for babies is a victim of trends and fashion as much as medical research. Everyone will tell you something different. Doesn't make it easy to know what to do!

Mis - I'd definitely wait till Seth's completely ok before he has vaccinations. There's no real good time to do it, but if he's just a little bit run-down or unwell it will only make things worse. Yeah, what Abb said...

Forgot to mention before, DS is practically crawling! He's gone from only rolling over onto his tummy one day, to rolling right over onto his back and over again, then commando-scooting backwards and spinning 360 degrees on the spot to full-on following me around the room trying to eat my socks!! All in a weekend practically! Still isn't sitting up for long unassisted tho... cant keep still long enough!

Get yourselves comfy and a nice cool drink - here comes Bec's novel post :rofl: I just can't help myself, once I start typing I find it hard to stop.

We had a nice weekend - all starting on Friday when DH came home much earlier from work. He was laid off :doh:, but thankfully he went to the company up the road from him and got another job within 15mins :dance:(phew! I went into a panic when I saw his car pull up, as I had a feeling that's why he was home early, especially now that my maternity leave pay has finished as of last week). I'd planned to visit my parents at a caravan park bout 30mins south from here, so we all went down and surprise visited them. I even took Cameron into the pool there, it was nice and warm with sails over the shallow end. It was the first swim I'd done with Cameron, and he was so exhausted he had a good sleep after his swim.

Saturday he went to swimming lessons, hadn't been for 2 weeks. Didn't know how he'd go though as he had woken up much earlier that morning, so thought he be grumpy but he was still happy to be swimming with his daddy I think. He then slept for 2hrs when we got home. But wouldn't have an afternoon nap, and as we were going out for dinner with inlaws that night I got a little scared. When we got to dinner, I ended up having to go for a little walk, as he was overtired, but just wouldn't give. Eventually he fell asleep after a 15min walk, but slept the rest of the night out :hooray:.

Sunday I changed the routine a little, as I decided I need to lose weight because as I am a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding in March next year and she is starting to arrange our dresses. So after his 1st feed of the day DH, the dog, Cam and I went for a 30min walk. Cam was awake the whole time, which is fine as he'd usually have play time after that 1st feed for about 30mins. I thought he would go to sleep when we got home for the usual 2 hrs, but he only slept 40mins. Grrr...he was not a happy boy, would not sleep any longer. So as we'd needed to go to the shops we gave up on trying to get Cam to sleep and went. Cam fought sleep at the shops for about 1 hour, eventually gave in and then slept for almost 2 hrs. Unfortunately that meant we had to keep shopping and spending, whoops, but at least he slept well (which ended up being the only good sleep of the day til night time).

On the sleeping thing, you can count me in on the challenging sleeping issues everyone is having. Cameron use to be easy to slip into bed during the day once I saw his tired signs, but lately he just seems to cry when put into his cot. Even at night with that last feed, he use to seem excited to go to bed and we could just pop him in and walk out and we wouldn't hear a peep from him til morning, but now it takes a bit of crying, some cuddles and a few turning ons of his musical seahorse to work (I seem to have to allow 30mins to get him to sleep and tiptoeing all around). He also has been waking up with a screaming cry during the night, usually around 2 or 3am (last night was 11pm), but thankfully we just pick up, cuddle and place back down with his seahorse and that usually works, sometimes after a few times. I agree it must be an age thing, probably testing me. Hope it doesn't last too much longer.

Well after a 30min fight to get Cameron to sleep earlier, he has done alright, it's been 2hrs now (see I told him he needed the sleep- there was no need to fight me - i was obviously right). Oh I think I can hear him stirring. Might try to get back later for personals.

Everyone always post when i don't have access. My net isn't working so i'm using my phone. You all know how addicted i am. Hopefully all will be fixed by tomorrow. Wont do personals just yet as this is harder then i thought. Just thought i'd update and say injections went well for both kids. Not as bad as i thought. DD is now getting up on all 4's but not for long. She's loving the commando crawl and is getting round rather well. We had a bad night but we now have another tooth on the way. Hasn't cut through but i can see white and its very lumpy. Hopefully tonight will be less screaming and more sleeping. Will be back later for more. Cant wait to read up on all the posts. Bye

My bubby did a crawl this morning :dance: well i wont be :dance: for too long will i lol. she is gettin up on hands and knees rocking backwards and forwards. then she would pull her arms forward then hop her legs forward like a frog.

jess: when u said u were on ur phone i didnt think u would write that much hahaha.

Mis: i wouldnt worry too much abotu the weetbix if he hasnt had a reaction keep going. i think it is just the wheet that u have to watch out for.

Nana: yeah i knwo wat u mean one day my mum tells me oh u shoudlnt give her banana then the next oh banana is the best for them and avo.

deancey: hope everythign is going well.

Well i really need to be quick i am suppose to be doing bookwork and Hamish is suppose to be sleeping but after 45 mins he thinks its time to wake up. Grrr I shouldnt complain really he slept 12 hours last night so i guess he will make me pay today when i have so many plans.

Well Liam had 6 month check up. He is going great guns. He is on 75th percentile for weight which is awesome. She said he is developing really well with his rolling etc. He is such a party animal though, he rarely sleeps but is always happy so cant complaint I guess. He is partying on at the moment when he is meant to be asleep. HMMM gonna go put his dummy in AGAIN

Sassy that rash is weird, maybe try the juice again in a month and see what happens.

Just got back from the MCH nurse, was supposed to go yesterday but it just wasn't happening... DS was being a cranky-bum, as it seems that around 3pm is when the teething grizzlies begin for him. Anyway, he's 8874g, 69cm long and head measurement is 45cm. Meaning he's a heavy lad! That's an increase of over 1.5kg since September! Considering he's not really having much in the way of solids (not enough to constitute a meal, anyway) that's a wee bit impressive...
Right now he's crawling around the playmat trying to eat everything in sight. He isn't using his hands to push up much, so he's pretty much pushing himself around on his face, and he looks like a right little Hoover! Crazy kid. Speaking of Hoover...must get a new, better vaccuum cleaner this weekend, I think. I've already put latches on all the cupboard doors and corner-covers on the coffee table. Have to do the power points next and relocate everything remotely appealing to bubs to a securely locked cupboard somewhere!! He's into everything already.
Oh no! Spoke too soon! Gotta go get this kid before he finds the car keys and takes Papa's car for a joyride! BBL for personals...

lol.... WOW now i know what its like for some of you ladies that arent daily users... :rofl: Bloody telstra... OMG i wont get into it but let me just say how frustrating they can be... passedd around to every department... GRRRRR!!!!

Well so much to catch up on... Ok... Me 1st... We had a good night last night... bed at 8, woke up at 11 dummy worked, woke up at 12.45 she was doing that cry like a spoilt little brat squeel type one and when she'd hear a noise (think ing it was me) she'd stop and start again so i left her go but after 1/2 hour i couldnt take anymore so i fed her and "leap" she slept til 5.30 played in the cot til 6. WOOO HOOO>.. she's been really spewy lately.... back on the meds. doing 2 solids a day and stil 1.2 jar. For the crawling were progressing to her arching her back to get ol all 4s.. like squaring her back,.... hard to explain... she's getting around so quickly and the commando crawl is becomming a nusence(spl) she gets under the lounge now... GRRRR....

We had speech therapy with DS roday and she was a but unsettled but i gave her a feed and she slept for the rest of the session. We now have 2 bottom teeth cut through although the second one is just cut not raised yet like the other one.

NaNa- YAY on teh weight gain... WOW most bubs are quite a bit heavier then DD... DD also does the face crawl... looks hilarious...

Deancey- sounds like liam is also going great... I'm also hoping we get more sleep... its killing me i had a nanna nap today... lol

Scuse me while I have a little rant...
I dont think I'm really having "sleep issues". I think it's all just normal! That's just me trying to be upbeat and positive about it maybe, but I'm allowed to be delusional coz I have never had a full night's sleep since April!! :ROFL: It doesn't make it any easier for you guys who are struggling now after having bubs sleep thru, but I feel a whole lot more relieved when I just stop stressing about things being abnormal or wrong and just go with the flow.
I spent a lot of today beating myself up about starting DS on solids the standard, prescribed way, and worrying because he's just not that interested, and the MCH nurse really bugged me about it (even tho it's OBVIOUS DS is exceptionally healthy), but nonetheless I spazzed about it. Eventually I gave up and remembered the best bit of advice I have heard ever is to just trust my instincts. Then I saw the Nestle logo on the leaflet the nurse gave me and promptly threw it in the bin in disgust.

Bec - wow, good on your DH for getting another job so quick! That's amazing. And maybe I should try the swimming for Aadi. Anything to burn up some excess energy! LOL at having to keep shopping. I deliberately avoid the shops and keep walking around the block in order to keep DS settled in the pram. Keeps me active!
Abb - looking forward to your trip to Melbourne? Hope you and DP are talking to each other by then!
Mis - good luck with your appeal. what planet do these men live on?? seriously... don't freak about the weetbix, but I reckon mix it up a bit with porridge or semolina or whatever.

Deancey - how are you going with the partying? It's so nice to have a happy baby, but it can be exhausting, hey?

Morning Mummas,

We had an ok night... DP was at work s o as usual i stayed up latter then usual... Someone knocked on the door at about 10.30pm and FREAKED me out... When i check there was no one there... flicked on the light but no one came to the door... Was too scared to open it, just peaking out the peep hole... I thought it was DP home early but no sign of his van... I phoned him and he freaked out, telling me not to open the door if someone knocks again or i hear something bring the dog inside... :pmsl: The dogs were near the side gate going blaistic so i knoew something was outthere. of course then i couldnt get to sleep... DD woke up at 11.30 so i fed her. tehn i laid there for ages... must have dosed off then woke to hear noises... It was DS... he was climbing in the kitchen... helped himself to a donut and went to bed... HAHAHA... it was like he was sleep walking or something.. he had his eyes closed....

DD woke up at 2.30 and i tried to resettle her but no good... SO i ended up feeding her and she just went back to sleep before DP walked through the door... the dogs went off at him too so he said obviously someone upset them and they were barking at everything. DD woke up at 7 so all in all not too bad i guess...

NaNa- The CHN told me that once bubs gets in the habit of waking up at night that its hard to break so she was the one that said 5 wake ups was not on and not enabling DD to get a good night sleep. so she said i have to be tough and let her cry for as long as it takes for her to resettle... I cant let her go too long obviously with DS and DP but i try... i dont expect her to go all night like she was but 5 wake ups is just too much. she was waking very grumpy. SInce the wake ups have been cut down she's getting happier... last 2 mornings she has been singing out in her cot which she hasnt done for AGES. Also i fully agree..."trust your instinct" i know with DS being a 1st timer i had feelings things were not right, or things should be done this was cos i knew what he was like... its strange to put into words but sometimes you just get this feeling, it took me a long time with DS to learn that "most" of the time your gut feeling is correct (like Kath & Kim "i feel it in my waters" :rofl:) With solids..... they recommend you starting no earlier then 6 months... its not necessary until 12 months... Milk is all they need... some days we have no solid feed other might be the 1 or 2 1/2 jars... for some reason she wont eat what i cook... might have to water it down like the jar :rolleyes:

Mis- i didnt mean to freak you out with the weetbix... DD sounds like she says hello too... i think it was her 1st word... Glad stank is settling down....

Bec... thats fantastic your DP got another job that quickly... my DP is like that...

Hi ladies

Well have just got over pharyngitis which i had since sunday(which was lachlan and abbie's baptism) far out if there is anything else that could go wrong with my health i think it will, if its not one thing it another but thankfully i can eat now i did not eat for 3 days and lost 3 kg so that one good thing.

Nana honestly the best thing is not to stress about the solid thing they will let you know when they are ready Lachlan did not properly start solids till he was 7 months as one day he would won't it and the next 2 or 3 he wouldn't. so just like you said go with the flow. Sleep wise they will sort them self out all babies are different i have had 2 good sleepers and one bad and cody who was the bad sleeper by the age of one had sorted himself out, hopefully it does not take that long for you but he was only waking up once.

Jess glad that you have the internet back on, sorry to hear about your scare the other night i am a chicken too i would not open the door i would hide too he he he.

mis tre well don't worry abbie is not crawling yet she is too good at rolling from one end of the house to the other to even worry about crawling, i think that she will go from rolling to walking lol!!!

Abb i know i could not believe when i saw your facebook that you spell your name the same way and everything lol !!!! Hope that Hamish is well and talk to you soon.

Sassy congrats on the crawl the other day!!! and i pick the kids up from school in my car i have an 8 seater so i can have four daycare kids as well as my 3 and me. Hope your DC is going well i bet you can't wait till next year and i bet it will go fast cause its nearly xmas time now. I am also not allowed to put up the tree till monday as my MUM says its bad luck if you put it up before december and honestly its not worth the stress of having to hear it from her lol!!!!!

Mis - DS has been saying Hello too! I filmed it on my phone and sent it to my mum, she loves it. Glad Stanky is doing ok now with his FDC mum.

I'm totally ok today, just got in one of those vicious ruts yesterday, when I doubt myself and start actually believing some of the negative crap that outdated and outmoded MCH nurses would have me believe. Had a good chat to my mum and DP, and it's all good. They are supportive of my ideas on attachment parenting, extended breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby-led weaning and everything else that classifies me as some kind of feral hippy in this society, but it's really the best way I know of being a parent. Even if it doesn't seem "normal" to everyone else. I'm not a feral, I abhor the smell of patchouli, can't stand hairy legs (mine or others!), and tie-die gives me the sh*ts. I might be vegetarian but not of the brown-rice and mung-beans variety!
Anyway, I gave DS some vegies from my dinner for him to play with last night and he gobbled it up. (I'm not doing the puree stuff. Can't be bothered, and it's too hard to clean off the walls!) We fed to sleep afterwards, and then when he woke up at 10.30 wanting a feed I knew it was because he really needed it. So he had another big feed and slept with us the rest of the night. He had one more feed thru the night, but there was no fussing to get up or resettling involved, so we had a really good night's rest. It's the nicest thing to wake up in the morning to him stroking my face and smilling the biggest, happiest smile ever. He has been a little bit upset today, but that's to be expected since he's teething, and it's hot and windy. But he's having his second big nap for today, so we're happy.

just a quick question for those with teething bubbas.
Jaydas poo's have been crazy the last few days. she seem acidy and really sloppy. she isnt very settled of a night easier and chewign liek crazy, TEETHING?
I put her on step 2 formula a few day b4 all this started so i dunno if it is teething or the new formula. it shoudltn be too much dif to the old one shoudl it and seens she is on solids now too i woud thinkt hat wat ever is dif she woudl of been gettin b4.
we r up to nearly 3 jars of food a day well when i remeber lol.

sounds very much like teething to me! DS was like that just before his tooth cut thru. Can't comment on whether the change in formula or solids would change that, but everything else indicates teeth to me. Good luck!

Sassy - I remember 1 of my friends babies who was ff had issues when they changed to the 2nd step (i think she went back to the 1st step for a little longer then), so maybe it is the formula. Isn't it frustrating trying to work out the cause of everything when they can't tell you what the problem is.

NaNa - Good on you for remembering to believe in yourself. It is so wrong when people like to try to enforce their opinions on you, I have an open mind, I'm happy to listen to a different point of view, but as soon as people get pushy and say this is the only way is should be done - I start to steam inside (I end up stewing on it as I'm not one to argue back).

Nikki - Hope your run of illnesses have come to an end - you've sure had your fair share. On the christmas tree going up on the 1st December- I use to say the same thing to my mum when I lived at home (except my rule was that it was bad luck to put it up any other day then the 1st, no later either)- funny how that all changed when I moved out and had to put the christmas tree up all by myself, it tends to get delayed a fair bit now (DH just sits there and watches usually).

This year as we don't have much room in our lounge room for Cameron's to play blanket as well as christmas tree, I think I will delay putting it up til mid December, therefore only cutting out Cameron's play area for only 2 weeks or so.

Mis - Seth's not the only lazy one - Cameron doesn't seem to interested in crawling either. Cameron also was sounding like he was saying hello about 2 months ago - did it for a few weeks - but hasn't said it for about a month now, so not sure if that was a first word or not. Last week he was trying 'b' words, possibly trying to say boo (from peek-a-boo game we play) or boy (we say good and cheeky boy alot). I agree with Deancey - you seem to be a bit of a superwoman on all your challenges.

Abb - Its frustrating when they do those short sleeps when you least expect it, but then it's hard to complain when they sleep well during the night (most of the time anyway).

Deancey - Yay on your healthy Liam in the 75%, has he always followed that path or was there a good growth spurt? Cam's always followed the 25 percentile, but still healthy though.

Jess - Glad the night wake ups are on the way of being sorted out. I was wondering if its ok just to let them cry sometimes during the night, but then its hard to try to ignore, especially when DH needs his sleep for work. I've given in a couple of times and fed (like at 4am this morning). And how scary. I can understand how frightened you would have been.

That kinda happened to us a few years ago - except luckily DH was home. It was about midnight, when we heard our gate move and saw the sensor light go on - went to look out peep hole, light turned off, so DH opened the door. All of a sudden somebody was moving around on our front verandah, DH tried to close the door but our poor dog got in the way, so he was squishing her - she was yelping (she was ok though). I was up the hall, with the phone in my hand calling the police, because DH finally had the door closed over, but this person kept yelling 'let me in, let me in'. Eventually this person was convinced to go away, it turned out he was very high and had gotten lost and confused our house with a friends, but geez that was a very scary night (I think DH almost ***** himself). But what was very strange and made it scarier, was that only about a week before hand, I'd answered the phone about 2am, with a man also saying 'let me in'. I thought it was DH (thought he might have slept walked outside, as he has done something similar before) - but no he had fallen asleep on the lounge. It must have been a wrong number, but for those 2 events to happen in the 1 week- I was rather scared to go to sleep for a while.

Well Cam's been a strange boy the last few days. He'll be happy, then grumpy, then cheeky, then quite. He has rediscovered his tongue, poking it out and doing raspberriers (almost showering me a few times). Also blowing rasberries on my boob - soo funny. Solids are going well, so far done pumpkin, potato, avocado and banana (I wasn't going to do banana but asked DH what he'd like to give him last Sunday and he chose banana, so didn't want to make him feel left out of food trying experience).

I think I can see a little cut in his gums, can't really see any white though, is this how the teeth thing can work?

Quick Q... DP just gave DD a slice or orange in her chewy net... She LOVED it.... can they have orange yet??? i came in from weeding the garden and she was chomping away on the net and had this HUGE orange stain on the front... I then saw DP eating some orange...

LMK- You poor thing... Your not having a good run with your health at the mo. Wish i could drop some weight sick or not... HEHE... Nothing is working... i need to boost up the excercise... Good to hear your ok now...

NaNa- With the baby led solids... What do you give DS??? I'm worried about chocking??? I use the chew net and she LOVES it... what type of things do you offer???
Also the CHN i saw was a bit pushy towards the Karitane place for my PROBLEM SLEEPER. she kept saying i should go there and stay the week and get it sorted out... Then she was like its up to you but i would... Then we talked about other stuff and she kept going back to it... when i left it was have a think about karitane... :rolleyes: i think alot of the time you just have to ride it out and do what YOU feel is best.... I think your doing a GREAT job...

Bec- LOL at DH almost *****ting himself... My DP acts brave but i think he would have been scared with that too... I think he was just as scared knowing i was alone and someone could have been trying to get in or sussing the joint out... He was in the city 45 mins away...

with the food we've done pumpkin, sweet potato, potato, carrot, will try avo next... fruit wise we have tried watermelon, apple, pears, i gave her an apricot and pear swirl jar last week for morning solid, and this week was sultana fig and oatmeal. She loves everything except what i cook,..... go figure.

Also with the teeth... I saw like a cut 1st... looks like ita a bit darker line... then few days later we had the corner of the tooth...

i have friends who take there DS to the hospital for EVERYTHING... Not to the doctors but emergency... he gets a rash and its off to emergency... i mean i have no issue with taking sick kids to emergency but you need to know when to go to the doctors or hospital. She listened to the GP about BF and gave it up after 2 weeks. You need to listen to your gut instinct an take control of you parenting... I think alot of people rely too much on what others say and think. i mean every baby is different and you really needd to do whats right for you and your baby

While i'm on a rant... I feel bad for getting up a friend of mine... (well a wee bit) She so desperatly wanted a baby after several MC... I never ever have said anything to her about her views on Bottle feeding and her attitue towards BF... (she wont BF cos she doesnt like her nipples being touched) i accept her views and when i talk to her about difficulties all i get is you can try some of my formula. I'm not sure if anyone else does this but sorry it erks me... When her DS wakes at night she makes him a bottle abd gives it to him in his cot and goes back to sleep... She used to prop it up and told me today that "YAY my bottle holder arrived" she brought one of those stupid things that hold the bottle up for bubs... i think they are so dangerous... i mean ok fair enough if its day time and your near him but to go back to bed... if he started chocking then what... GRRRR.... it makes me mad... ooooo-kay! well, it turned out to be a nice day with DS after a bit of crankiness this morning. We even had a nice nap together this afternoon which was just what I needed, but I was woken by a storm breaking and pelting rain, and the realisation that all the nappies were on the clothesline! Came back in soaking wet, and DS woke up, but a quick cuddle and he went back to sleep. No way I could tho... darn.

Jess - from what I know, if there's no history of allergies to certain foods in your families, then a bit of citrus wont be too bad, but it is definitely one of the things that should be left till a bit later on the list of first foods because it's acidic and high in sugar, and along with wheat, tomatoes, egg etc is more likely to cause a reaction in an immature degestive system and is linked to eczema. But who am I to say? If DD loves it and there's no reaction, then great. As for your friend's parenting "skillz", that's just sad. Things like that make me angry, especially the bit about the bottle-holder! I worry about the future of our society when children are being raised without bonding with their parents on such a basic level as nourishment and comforting, which is still 100% possible even for ff babies. There's such an abundance of helpful information and resources available to us (BB especially!) but some parents choose the path of "ignorance is bliss" and do whatever TV tells them to do. Oh, now I'm ranting... slap me please!

As for the solids I am giving DS a selection of a few things I'm putting in my own meals, so lately it's been lightly steamed finger-sized pieces of carrot, zucchini, sweet potato, and broccoli florets. I spoon-fed him some mashed avocado, banana, potato, and pumpkin on a few occasions but he wasn't into it much except for the avocado. He really prefers to play with the pieces of vegies, and has discovered that these new toys taste good. I dont think it's so important for him to actually eat any of it yet, tho some broccoli is definitely getting thru! :tmi: When I have a bit more time I'll mash up some other fruits and vegies and put a blob on the tray of the high chair too, for him to play with and get a taste maybe as well! It's messy, but it's warm enough to put DS in the back yard and hose him off after! :ROFL: kidding! well, that's what my parents did to me... Babies have amazing gag reflexes, and as long as you're watching carefully whenever they're jamming stuff in their mouth, there's not much risk of them choking. That said, I had to fish out a piece of broccoli from DS's mouth earlier, but he didn't really choke on it. Just bit off a piece that was too big for him to mash up in his mouth. Mis_tree - I expected a more enlightened response to my cloth-nappy choice too, but even in a big city it's hard to find anyone accepting of it, let alone supportive of it. I dont see what the big deal is. But then I guess nobody reads the small print on the boxes of disposables about how you're supposed to dispose of poo in the toilet, not the rubbish bin, and how that's really nowhere near as disgusting with cloth. Ooh, preaching to the converted? lol! Good luck with Stanks in his own room!

Bec - thanks. I tend not to say anything much when confronted with stuff too. I stew on it and that's why I spent too much time stressing myself about it the other day. I'm trying to keep up with your novel-sized posts, but you're giving me a run for my money! I just have to rant a lot and take up space... :) From what I've experienced with DS, and read about here and elsewhere, when bubs is out of sorts and a bit erratic with moods, sleeps and feeds, it's a pretty good indication of teething, or it could just be a growth/developmental milestone. A tooth may not show up straight away, but you know it will sooner or later! I've just got a Baltic amber teething necklace for DS, and he's suddenly calmed down a lot and doesn't seem as bothered. Cameron will be back to his normal self pretty quickly, I'm sure.

What's with everyone having scary stuff happening at night? Is it my turn now? My DP is a total wuss, so maybe I should get the big stick ready just in case... LOL

A talkative bunch today you lot...
Anyway i am going to be lazy as i am tired from work so i will do my best to remember what everyone has said. Someone mentioned weetbix, i started Hamish on them yesterday, i bought the kids weetbix and he loves them, i know they do not recommend them now until 12 months, my dd loved them too and i think she may have only been around 4months when i gave them to her. I will have a read of the link you posted jess. NaNa we are not going to Melbourne until Saturday now, i ended up having to work a full day today and dd has school commitments tomorrow, We will only be going for 2 nights now not 4 but thats ok we have plenty to do at home. We are talking again thankfully although i am still a little P!$$@d off with him but i am using that to my advantage. NaNa i had a laugh at your post, i am sure you are doing a great job with aadi and as you said mothers insticts are usually a good guide, i was talking to a friend last night who has a 7.5 month old and she said he isnt interested in solids yet and has around 7 -8 bf a day, so i would not be concerned. Nikki i hope you are feeling better now. Bec thankfully his sleeps are back to normal again, it was just frustrating because i had alot of stuff planned to do when he had his nap. Sass souns like teething to me also, hope it goes quickly for you, still no teeth here yet.
We have had a busy few days but Hamish has behaved brilliantly which helps. He sits really well now, no need for pillows or any aids, he happily bends and twist playing with toys without falling now, which is great. I cant remember who mentioned the crawling action but Hamish also uses his face and forehead not his hands, it is very funny watching him rock back and forth on his knees with his head buried in the floor. Ok i best be off really need an early night but had to check BB and facebook first.lol

NaNa - That was a rather nice and healthy sized post - good to see I'm not the only long poster :rofl: I don't feel as bad now. Do you keep sposies spare for those emergency situations? What brand of cloth you use? I'd always intended to do cloth, but couldn't find any in person stockists (only online ones) and didn't feel right forking out the big $$$ when I couldn't see them. I got terry towelling ones that I think I'll start to use in the days now though, but wish I'd done cloth (I cringe everytime I use a sposie).

Mis - How'd Stanks go in his own room? And how did you go sleeping without him? Hope it went well. Do you still wrap him? I have done the last few nights as its been rather cold here, but it's made no difference with wake ups. Last week he slept right thru til 7am unwrapped, but the last 3 nights he has woken at 4am - wrapped.

Jess - How rude of your friend, maybe she doesn't realise she is being pushy regarding the formula, but it would be hard to tell her so. Also the hospital friend - it reminds me of that add on tv at the moment regarding calling 000, maybe you could suterly mention that to her. Also re: Jordan's sleepwalking - if it becomes a regular thing - (just in case you are not aware) - try not to wake him, but just guide him back to bed if he keeps doing it.

DH is a big time sleep walker - quite often I've had chase after him as he runs out of the room 'chasing an intruder'. After I've focused and my heart begins beating again :o I go over to him (usually at the bedroom door or hallway, but he has run out the front door before - that was many years ago though) - and I say to him 'good job, you got rid of them now you must be tired, time for sleep' and lead him back to bed. Because if they startle who know's what he'll do (hit the supposed intruder maybe?) Also make sure you keep the front door well locked - When DH was about 9 he apparently walked to his school (police found him with his school bag on but still in his pj's :ROFL: we laugh about it these days).

Well Cameron's tooth is definitely on it's way. I can feel it now, still can't really see it, but it's hard when that dam tongue gets in the way :p. That would explain his wake ups and funny moods lately now, also maybe :tmi: here but for those with boys may understand - the top of his scrotum has been rather red, kinda under the skin (kinda those tubie things) - I've heard this is a sign of teething too, so I guess that must be about right.

Bec - I haven't had sposies in the house since DS was 6 weeks old, and even then I didn't use them. Not sure what you mean by emergency situations... He's been in cloth from the start, with the exception of a box DP bought cause he couldn't quite get his head around it all at that stage! It might seem a bit of a gamble with buying online, but there's always the option of re-selling. I don't know why there aren't more IRL stores... First I used flannelette flats with PUL covers, and I got a starter pack of MCN from a great online store called nurture nappies. I figured from what was available, and what I'd read about in online forums like nappycino and here on bellybelly that pockets like BumGenius were the best for our situation. At the time, living in an apartment with no access to sunlight I needed something that would dry quickly. So BumGenius pockets are great for that, and they are OSFA and adjustable to fit from NB to toilet-training/toddler. Not cheap at first, but they've paid for themselves already in the savings from buying sposies. But it's ridiculously easy to become addicted to MCN and the thrill of getting "fluffy mail" is a bit ridiculous but I'm not alone - check the cloth nappy threads! Some of the nappies available are just soooo cute! I now have about 35-40 MCN in 6 different brands, but still use terry flats sometimes. And look at that, I'm babbling again!
Anyway, I've heard that kids in cloth toilet-train earlier because they're more aware of the wet feeling (not that MCN aren't absorbent!) so that can't be a bad thing. Feel free to pick my brain about it if you're considering going cloth even part-time.

Abb - there's a three-hour kids clothing sale here on Saturday morning... you're gonna miss it! :( LOL, hope the drive in to Melbs isn't filled with uncomfortable silences coz you're still cranky at DP!

NaNa - Sorry :doh:, what I meant by emergency supply, is that if they were all used, or on the line wet, do you have disposables for spares, but as you have such a good stash I guess that is unlikely to happen. What does 'MCN' mean? The cloth ones I was almost ready to buy were the babybeehinds, any personal opinions on those?

Mis - I thought you might have tossed and turned all night. Hopefully tonight you feel a little more relaxed (although it'll probably take a week or so to get use to it). Good idea on the portrait pictures, think I might have to arrange something like that too, then that could be DH and my present to each other, as well as for my parents and the inlaws, thanks for that.

Those using the cloth nappies - do you/ will you have issues with child care centres using the cloth? I'd heard alot won't use them, I'll start to ask when I go and visit them though.

Think I can hear Cameron stirring, must be ready for his lunch. I'd put him in his cot while I did the vacuuming and he got bored and fell asleep :asleep:, whoops.

Evening Mummas...

Last night was good... DD went down at 8 then slept til 2.30 :leap: yay then slept til 6... SO proud of her... I can SOOO handle that... Spent the day at westfields... yes "the day" Gosh... it was PACKED... it took forever to pay some money off my laybys. and the lines were just rediculous already... We now have 2 bottom teeth popped up... only a little bit but enough to see them now... the whole of the top... HEHE... I love looking at them but her tongue gets in the way... She's been very sooky today but has started to get very goot with the 2 hand co-ordination... She's wanting EVERYTHING/... every time she saw something and i'd pick it up and put it back she would scream... i ended up having to buy her a rattle to keep her occupied... lol (its started already)

She has also started doing like push ups... pushing up on her feet and hands... she has the backwards comando crawl down pat and when she gets to where she wants she flips over in few rolls just to get what she wants...

I too wanted to use cloth nappies but i guess i got lazy in the looking into it and i guess havent thought much bout it lately... maybe i should look into it again now... Quick q... how often do you need to change.. i imagine it would be a bit more frequently then sposies... what bout over night>???? any leakage or would they last all night or would i have to do a nappy change???

Mis- :cheer: yay Stank... I remember that 1st night... :hide: it was so scary... I want to get some pics done with the kids... Will wait til after christmas when the sales start...

NaNa- I have also heard cloth bums train easier too... Also OMG about your DP... hope he doesnt think your the intruder one night... Also with the reddness on the scrotum my DS used to get that when he was teething... also when he was sick...

Abb- YAY on the sitting... DD is still happy to slide round... isnt interested in sitting... just arches her back and gets annoyed...

NaNa- She seemed sine after,... Little chuck but no more then usual... Wont make a habit of it but at least i know she like it... it was so hot so i guess she just liked the coldness... thought she's make a face but DP said she was fine... sucked it till there was nothing left practically... I learnt about gag reflexes today... :o I was driving DS to DC and little miss was gaging... i clicked my haed round and she was blowing bubbles and poking her tongue out... thought she may have had a hair in her mouth... i tried to find somewhere to pull over so i could fix her up and when i finally did she had a piece of plastic in her mouth... God knows shere she got it from but it was chewed up in a ball... OMG i nearly had a heart attack... she could have swollowed it... thankfully whe kept trying to flick it out of her mouth...

Also with the nappies at DC... My DC supply sposies for the time DS was there... Some ask you to supply them so i guess if you were using cloth and they supplied sposies it wouldnt really matter as they were paying for it??? Ours wont use cloth (even if supplied) for hygine reasons...

I'm not going to be the only advocate for MCN in this thread, am I? Mis, help me out here!!
Bec - um, what Mis said... I have a couple of the baby beehinds in bamboo, they're pretty good. I don't like their PUL covers much on DS tho, as he's got chubba thighs and they left welts like rope burn! It's really what suits your individual bub best. Personally, I find the all-in-one/two or pockets to be simpler. They're as easy as disposables and DP can even use them without having a brain implosion! Washing them, well, that's another story. Even with printed instructions he still gets that one wrong, but at least he tries!
As for day care and nappies, well legally they can't say no to cloth, and if they do "for hygiene reasons" then I would be asking what they do with poopy sposies, since it is illegal to dispose of poo in the bin. Therefore they would HAVE to be doing the same thing with sposies as cloth, so where's the hygiene issue?? I would expect a few blank stares and ignorance on that one, but it's true. It's SO easy to use flushable liners and they just get dropped in the toilet. Most carers use gloves for nappy changes anyway, and with cloth, the dirty nappy just gets rolled up and put into a wetbag (zippered, waterproof, smellproof bag u can get from nappy sellers) and it's up to you to deal with that when you get home. It's only difficult for carers if they're simple and can't work velcro or snaps! I'm sure there would be some challenges with a few centres, but it's up to the individual parents.
A Little Squirt is very useful! I love ours, and want to take it on holidays with me, but that's probably pushing it a bit!
Jess - Considering you have to pay postage on MCN coz you can only really buy online, it would work out lots cheaper to buy in one lot, and IF you decide to go cloth then I would suggest maybe put aside your money and buy what you want all at once. I'm not trying to convert anyone, but if you could see Tiahna's tush in an Itti Bitti D'lish I think you'd be smitten!
I change DS about 5-8 times a day, and we have some dedicated night-nappies that are a bit bulky, but they're all bamboo, which is organic, naturally highly absorbent, anti-bacterial and so soft. With a maz-a-licious cover, they're too cute! Bubble-butts are the go in our house! If you get the right combination of fabric and cover, there's no leaks and no need to change overnight.
I can't imagine spending a whole DAY at a shopping mall, especially at this time of year. Argh! You're braver than me. But I'm off to get a new vaccuum cleaner today, since I got down on the floor last night with DS and discovered far too much stuff that my old vac just didn't pick up and should have. Scary about the bit of plastic in DD's mouth!! Where do they get these things from? At least she didn't actually swallow it, that would have been horrible!

Mis - Hope you're getting better sleep now that you know Stanky's ok on his own. How did Night #2 go?

Jess - How scary with the plastic, glad she was ok and didn't swallow it. How do they always manage to find these things...and everything has to go to the mouth hey. :hooray: on the 1 wake up the other night. How did she go last night with the big shopping day? Also if she is fond of that rattle you bought her, maybe that could be her leave in the pram rattle.

Mis and NaNa - thanks for the info on the "MCN's" - still confused :confused:what to do, as I not one to make a decision easily. I really wish I could just go to one store so I can have a look at the different types and even buy individually.

Mis - Hope tonight goes well for you, hope you didn't watch Jurassic Park tonight though- if your anything like me I would be having nightmares of dinosaurs all night and probably even be tempted to bring Cameron into our room (I really hate dinosaur dreams, its a guarantee for me to wake up screaming the house down :o)

NaNa - How's your new vacuum cleaner going? At least it will possibly make vacuuming more fun for a few weeks (til the novelty of a new appliance wheres off).

Well we went to visit Santa today. We went to the Australia Fair one - Sassy will know where I mean - it was good, Santa was friendly and I loved the decorations - more of a white theme - which is great as I'm not a fan of the colour red. Cameron was fine. We did a family pic and one of just him. It was tricky to get him to smile in the family photo (my MIL just didn't have a funny enough face this time), but I managed to get a smile for the single picture though. I'm going to scan it so I can send in my xmas cards :shhh: I'll try to put it up here.

We then went to a BBQ this afternoon for a friend to celebrate her end of chemo, she is kinda almost in remission, just needs a few radiation treatments, but we are all positive about it all. Cameron had woken at 3pm (still at home), but he only managed to sleep about 40mins while at the BBQ (even that was a fight), so I was expecting a big fight to sleep when we got home after 9pm. Thankfully though after a quick feed he easily gave in, bout 40mins ago (that's why I'm on here, as didn't want to start to dose off myself then have to get up to try to settle him). Just :pray: he sleeps ok tonight, as I'm buggered.

His tooth is definitely on its way. I can feel it now and kinda see a little speck of white (pin size). When do you reakon its official as first tooth to put in the book, the cut, the feel of it or seeing it and a what stage?

NaNa- Totally didnt think bout it that way... would definatley be wiser to put aside some cash and buy bulk... Might look into it after chrissy... I have way too much to pay for ATM... Also i know its not a hygine issue but thats what our centre said... But they supply sposies and i guess even if i did supply cloth they'd just use sposies anyways... (i think it comes down to being easier for them maybe??? not sure... is there even an excuse??? I see arguments for either way... Its not like there washing them they'd just bad em and hand them back... :rolleyes: I guess you'd just have to speak with the DC you were intending to send your child... DP worked night shift and only got home at 5am so i thought i'd give him time to sleep with out a whingy kid... I would never ususlly spend most of the day at the shops... especially near chrissy... i just feel bad when he's worked all night/morning and can get any sleep...

Mis- Yeah DD likes to kinda flick her tongue over the teeth,... Damn there shapr tho... she took a bite of my shoulder and she drew blood... God help me if she bite my nipple... :o Also with the scarey movie... I'm guilty of that... with DP working at night i have been staying up later... I watch like criminal minds and those shows about killers... Damn... I lay in bed with my eyes so wide open they hurt... every bump i feel like screaming... i even go through little plans in my head what i'd do if someone tried to come in... It freaks me out how i'd get to the 2 kids in time... ... silly woman... lol

Bec- I know i have no idea where it came from. She's been doing raspberries again and i though for few sec thats what she was doing... Until i heard her gag... it felt like forever before i could find somewhere to pull over... We had 2 wake ups friday night 1 at 11.50 then the next at 2.30 then 6... last night we had a bit of an out of wack day... she didnt want to sleep much during the day and ended up asleep at 6 but woke up at 7.30 wouldnt go back to sleep til 9.30 then slept til 1.30 i fed her but she didnt want to go back to sleep.... she forght sleep til 3 then i topped her up and she slept til 7...
YAY on the santa trip... i've been taking the kids when i get a chance but DS is so terrified... so trying hard to de-sensitise him... lol Still to this day we have not had a santa pic with DS... Hoping this yr we can get one with the 2 of them but not looking so good....

Well best be off... Tackling DS's bedroom today... i cant believe how messy it is... he hides stuff under the bed... GRRRRRR

mis - swap you? Sounds positively peaceful compared to goings-on round here! DS has decided to stretch out the time between naps to 4 hours or more. He's blowing industrial-strength raspberries and drowning us in bucket-loads of drool. He's screaming on the change table at DP now, and this morning he bit my foot!? Latched on and wouldn't let go. He's a maniac. Spent an hour and a half giggling and fighting sleep last night and didn't end up going to sleep till 9:30, and was up again every three hours rocking and rolling till 6.

Oh NaNa and Mis sounds like your both having bad days... We had a rough morning but little miss made up for it... Her 15 min nap thismorning made her extra tired and she slept 3 hours this arvo... :leap: DS's room was a nitemare.. His eating at night was worse then i thought... he had tiny tedies, chip, biscuts an apple.. EWWEEE... all in the space of a week or 2... he'd pulled all his clothes out and shoved them under the bed... What a mess... i have so much to still do but i had to help DP in the back yard...

My head is pounding so hoping for a nice quiet nite...

well i have tried to catch up but there has been so much since i was last on so forgive me if i forget things.

we had needles on fri jayda went really well. he legs came up in huge lumps and she still has them today. we got her weighed and measured. she is 8.2kgs and 70cm long.

she has been throwing up basically every 2nd bottle over the weekend so i have cut hte amount back a bit till she is right again.

things r getting so full on now it is getting close to chrissy. luckly i have most of my shopping done. when i get the 1000 i wanna get a few last min things.

no sleep happening here. Been up since 3.30, and I have a horrible sore throat. DS is not so D today. He's having ridiculously short naps at least 3 hours apart. He's grumpy and whingy. Pooping like it's going out of fashion. DP has the week off work, so he's taken him for a walk so I can try and compose myself a bit and get the scowl off my face. Not happy, Jan!
Bec - going to get the vac tomorrow, as they didn't have the one I wanted in stock. It had better rock my world coz it cost me a small fortune. K.Ruddy's money will come in handy!

Had a good weekend, hamish behaved himself and slept all night in portacot and most of the way in the car. It was tiring just going for 2 days but it was important to go.
NaNa didnt end up doing any shopping at all so no kinderkot :-(, think i will just order online so we have it by Christmas. I hope aadi's sleep iproves for you, sounds like things are a little stressful atm.
Sass - Hamish had a lump too, but only on the one leg, apparently it is common with the 6 month and 12 month ones, i thik he had his for almost a week.
Jess - your ds room sounds like my dd's, although she is 12 and should know better.
Mis - stanky might be a night owl, is he crying or just wont sleep at night?

Well it must be the day for it... How about we all have a swap... My gosh... Little miss... (i should add "poop head" after that) has been screaming all morning. we had 4 wake ups last night and it was taking ages for her to resettle and she'd only have a feed- wouldnt settle for dummy. Been up since 5 and all she has done is scream all day

She wont sleep, hardly fed, wont play, even when i hold her she's crying... but worse if i put her down... she's screaming til she's blue in the face... my head is pounding still from yesterday... too much sun. i had BIG plans to do a big clean up so i could put the tree up but thats gone out the window.. She's just cried herself to sleep and all i can think of doing is having a cuppa and having a break,.... god that screaming really gets to you...

Forgot to mention Saturday was our ^ month goal of Full time BF... :leap: so proud of myself... didnt think i'd reach the goal... i have had formula sachets on hand for fdew weeks now but thankfully havent had to use them .... heres hoping i can do another 3 months at least...

Sass- DD had a reaction like that with 4 month needles... GP said sometimes it happens when they flex there muscle when the needle goes in... If it gets worse take her to see the GP...

I get my chrisco on friday YAY... And also DP's work party... :doh: have to take DD with us... hope they all dont mind

Hi All,

Wow, sounds like alot of you's are still having sleeping :asleep:issues with Bubs - Mis, NaNa and Jess - I hope it's not for too much longer for you all. Maybe (if you don't already) give them a bath and a rub down before that big sleep. I quite often do this and it usually helps, especially if they are overtired.

Thankfully ours haven't been too bad since last week. Now I'm feeling a little guilty :redface: being annoyed that Cam woke at 6am this morning, but I know I have nothing to be complaining about. It's just that I'm having trouble sleeping myself, I'll usually toss and turn til about 11.30 - 12ish, then waking up again about 2hrs later, then take another 30mins or so to get back to sleep, ahhh. Hopefully I can snap myself out of this bad habit soon.

Jess - I hope you did go have a little time out with a cuppa - sounds like you needed to recharge. Wow on Jordan's food stash - doesn't sound like a sleep walking thing now, sneaky boy.

Abb - Glad you had a good weekend away and that Hamish slept well for you.

Mis - I love those little comments :rofl: - naughty mummy (but you get me giggling each time - so I must be a naughty mummy too)

Sassy - They sound like good length and weight figures. Sorry to hear Jayda had those reactions. Cameron's booked in for his needles on Saturday, but thank goodness this will be it for another 6 months though. How are you going on the cutting back on the feeds?

NaNa - I also hope you were able to recharge with DP took Aadi for a walk. Hope your not getting sick - that's how we started when we got sick - the 3 of us had the same thing - all started with the sore throat. Cameron started it, gave it to me, and no matter how much I avoided DH he still managed to catch it. After the sore throat was the coughing and it was so hard to find cough medicine I could take whilst bfeeding.

We went to Pacific Fair (the big shopping centre on the Gold Coast - most people usually have heard of it). I use to work there (and hopefully I will again). It was sooo busy. As Cameron had only just woken when we needed to leave home - DH had to formula feed him while I was in my eye appointment (think DH really enjoyed doing that). After we did Xmas shopping.

Cameron was asleep so he had know idea what Santa will be bringing, well the main present anyway - one of those little lounges :shhh:. We then went into a toy shop and Cameron woke (must've known where we were). Worked out well though as we found a little steering wheel thing (designed for 6+), the wheel turns, the horn beeps (well barks really) andit sings the alphabet song. I let Cameron play with it - he loved it. Chucked a little wobbly when we had to give it to the checkout girl to pay for it. But it's put away now.

Then went to harvey normans to do our photos, including the ones for the xmas cards. I had a 200 free photo voucher, so I didn't mind that it took an 1hr. By the time we got home (as we then went food shopping), it was about 5, and Cameron had only slept about 3 x 20mins or so. I'd bought a jar of pureed apples - Cameron loved it. But after his bath he just cracked it - did histerical cries and a big scream. But thankfully after a bit of a feed he gave in and slept til I had to wake him at 8.30, back in bed by 9.30 then woke at 6am.

Today I ended up back Pacific Fair - had to meet my MIL as I don't have to pay for the commission for foreign currency cause i work in a bank (the things I do for the inlaws) - got home about 1, and it took me about 1.5hrs to convince Cameron to sleep - he was sooo overtired. I think tomorrow I need an at home day for rest and housework.

Well can now hear Cameron stirring - time for more apple. How do make your pureed apples (besides opening a jar ). Can they be done in the microwave or best on the stove? I got one of those rocket blenders too - can I use that some how?

she had the leg bumps with the last needles too. they r startign to go away now.
she is back up to normal bottles again. i think it must of just been the needles maybe that made her sick.

Dh has his work chrissy party tomorrow they r goign out on a charter boat. BUT i have to drop him and a few others off at the depo at 445 in the morning :(
I dont think we will be getting a chrissy party this yr we have just been taken over by a new company so everyone is busy with all that.

i ahvea few full on weeks coming up. Dh to his chrissy party tomorrow, thurs bday party for one of the daycare kids, fri fillings at the dentist :(, sat out for tea, sun chrissy toy raffle at rsl then suprise bbq for mums bday.
next week wed another daycare kids bday party,thurs trev has a appt to check his nose after his op fri doc, sat dads 50th party
Then the next tues MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!! lol

jayda is saying MUM now. not as good as i thought. now when she wakes up she says mum not dad. i used to tell trev b4 he had to get up cause she was yelling out to him now i gotta lol.

24days till chrissy yay.

Sass- glad jayda is ok now... bugger bout the early drop off for DP's party. what no partners??? DP's is at this tiny italian resturant... hope i can fit the pram in... Hope they dont mind me bringing DD... Oh well too bad... lol WOW a B'day so close to chrissy... I bet that was annoying when you were younger??? DD is saying Mum also... All last night it was mumumumumumum...

Bec- By the time i boiled the jug made my cuppa write my post drank my tea DD was back up... so she had a wopping 20 min nap all day. Also i think DS is just being sneaky... maybe that explains why he doesnt wanna eat dinner... he knows he can get up and sneak fod in later... Hmmm... Might have to put locks on the pantry.. Dont feel guilty bout the good sleeping or early wake ups... I'm glad some of you are getting some sleep gives me hope that one day we can too... i get annoyed cos we had a good sleeper and now she's a monster.... I got DD a little table thingy for chrissy... they were on special at Target... it has toys on top, lights sounds etc... 29.99 down from 59.99... i brought her a dolly too (couldnt help myself i actually got 2)
With the apples i guess a microwave would work... I just chop in to thin slices and wack it in a pot with some water (just a little bit so they dont stick and cook til soft. then blend... I'd say it would work in the microwave but maybe you might need more water and a lid as the apply could dry out a bit??

Well we had an aweful night...After only a 20 min nap yesterday and all that screaming i was sure we'd have a good night it was looking good DD was asleep at 7.30 but it turned bad she woke up at 10 then 12, 2, 4 and then 530... i'm exhausted...

Well best be off... Need to clean up so i can put the tree up today hopefully

Hi ladies

Well Abbie had a really bad night last night i think that her teeth were really hurting her, she woke up at 11 and then did not go back to sleep till 12:30 then woke up at 1:30 and did not go back to sleep till about 3;30 so i slept on the recliner in the lounge room with her as i swas so tired and she settle beset there. I can't wait for these teeth to be out they are just sitting there waiting to pop through.:wall:

We put up our christmas tree yesterday the kids loved it and touch wood:pray: but lachlan has been really good with it so far not playing with it at all!!!:dance:


Jess well i got my crisco last monday,:dance: it is the first year that we have done it and i love it. The kids loved it too we are definitly doing it next year DH has already put in an order for next year.

Sassy you sound very busy so good luck to you with that, i am very jealous that jayda is saying mum, i have been trying to get abbie to say it for weeks but she just looks at me as if to say go away i am not ready to say that. Oh well It will all happen in good time.

Bec not too sure about the apple thing i only make my own vegies never tried the fruit but yes any blender will do i use a stab mixer thing its great. Abbie loves her food too although since her teeth have been annoying her she has been a bit off.

Sassy - I'm out Nerang way, where abouts are you? Wow does sound like you've got a rather hectic few weeks, always gets like that at xmas doesn't it (especially if there are a few birthdays involved). Our weekdays are normal but our weekends are pretty jammed packed too.

Jess - Ewww Tiahna's sleeping - I really hope it settles soon for you soon. Don't you love it when you get a bargain - so far all our xmas pressies for everyone have been discounted too - just gotta pick the week - when they have clothes or toys on special, plus I got a 5% discount card for Kmart due to the renos at Pacific Fair store :dance:.

Nikki - Bring on those teeth, I hope they pop up soon. We've had the same issue the last few weeks but thankfully 1 popped up on the weekend. Now we just gotta wait for round 2, 3, 4... Yeah I'd only ever done vegies, never cooked fruit before. Think I figured it out tho, will see how it tastes this arvo :pray:.

As for us, Cameron's got a troubling cough. It's not too bad during the day, but last night he was coughing so much I had to go check on him. That was probably a bit of a mistake, but I just needed to let him know I was there, as he kinda woke up more then and took a while to settle. Every time he was laid down he'd cough, until he went to sleep. I wanted stay there until he fell asleep, but I was so tired, I laid on the floor with his little pillow and a blanket and I fell asleep - woke after about 30mins then because it was so dark in his room I couldn't find my way to the door. I was trying to be quite :shhh: but I ended up in the wrong direction :rolleyes: bumping into almost everything, thankfully he didn't wake. I'm taking him to dr's this arvo, I'm sure it will be fine, but just want to see if there is any thing I can do to settle the cough (kind of a dry cough).

Well apples should be cooled a bit, off to blend them.

bec: i am in murwillumbah, its 25min from tweed heads. yehait is pretty crazy with all the birthdays near chrissy. half the daycare kids have birthdays in the last 2 months of the yr lol. oh well it gives us somethign dif to do.

mis: jayda has been saying dad for ages now. and now one every really said dad to her. i was constantly saying say mum and she didnt want anythign to do with it either but then as soon as i gave up she started.

Apples: i think u can steam them cant ya. i was thinkin of doing them just enough to put in her chewy sack thing (DH loves it when i call it that lol)

Morning Girls
Well things have been a little crazy around here for the last week or so but hopefully we are getting back to normal.
Hamish is still sleeping like a dream. 8.30 to 6.30 sometimes 7.30, he woke this morning at 5.15 and i put the dummy back in and he slept until 7.30, the dummy seems to work most times before 6am anything after that and i am up anyway. I feel a little guilty with his sleeps when alot of you are having issues still.
I have put Hamish in 3 solid feeds now as he is just so hungry, he has weetbix for breaky, fruit for lunch and vegetables for dinner. Last night i gave him some grilled fish also with his vegetable and he loved it. He still has the same amount of bf but two are usually just one side. He has starting sooking when he sees us eat now but i am trying to time his feeds when we eat so he can associate meal times toherwise he would just want to eat all day. Someone asked about apples, i steam mine and just lightly mash as i dont puree anything.
I think Hamish will be crawling by Christmas, he is very active now and just loves floor time more than ever, he can do a little bit of a crawl but its usually when he is so frustrated and cranky because he cant reach something. He says a few words now, mum, dad, bub, hello and makes a sound like pup pup but its not clear enough to know what it is yet. I cant believ how fast they have all grown up, kinda makes me want a new born again but not yet. lol

Oh ladies for those of you with sleep issues lets hope Santa brings you a good full night sleep for xmas. It would be so lovely if we all started to get solids sleeps.
I cannot complain in the sleep dept. Liam goes down about 7-8pm, I feed him at 10-11 (i wake him) and then he goes thru till 7am. The last couple nights he has woken at 4am and I havent been able to settle him so I have fed him 1 side and he sleeps again. Dont wont to make that a habit though.
He has gone down to about 4 feeds a day now. DH has been only giving him 1 bottle whilst I am at work, he is goign about 6 hrs in between feeds. Which is good, less expressing.

Abb34 WOW on Hamishs words that so cute. It will be exciting if he is crawling by xmas. They look so grown up when they are crawling around the place.

sassy123 glad you are enjoying the busy xmas period. OH how sweet Jayda is talking too. Happy birthday for Tuesday if I miss it. I am hardly online anymore

mis_tree DOnt worry the word MUM will come soon enough and then you will wish they didnt know it. LOL. NO every new thing is gorgeous but it amazes me how most bubs all say dad 1st


Bec7 Hope Camerons cough gets better OOHHH I love Pacific Fair, everytime we visit the gold coast we go there. Its such a pretty shopping centre. Which bank do you work for? my hubby works for westpac.

Well with DH out with Jordan i have managed to vacuum and mop and now I have washing to hang out. Liam is asleep which is nice.
