Babies Born May 1st ~ 15th 2009

CONGRATS TO RAYRAY!!
nothing here, 4 days overdue and nothing stirring at all
think i will join the next may group cause by the time my bubs is born i will be far behind the rest of you guys development wise. starting to think its really strange that everyone in our group had thier bubs early or pretty much on time except for me...i guess Nelly has an excuse having had complications before, makes me think maybe my EDD dates were wrong.? also seeing as half the may 16-31 girls have had thier bubs too and my bump is quite small compared to most. :(

Still no news on chicken pox, still just anxiously waiting.. tomorrow it has been 1 week since he's been exposed, so another 2 weeks of waiting... fingers crossed and all good thoughts are prayers sent our way please!!

Congrats to Rayray and the others who have their bundles of joy - Emma and Nelly sending massive labour vibes your way!

TMTM, Liam's a bit up and down with feeding times. For a few days he was just having 20 min feeds, but the last few days it seems to be close to half an hour on one side, plus a little on the other. Last night he fed every 2 hours until midnight and then wasn't up again untul 5:30!!! I had a panic attack when I saw the time hehe but he was ok, just being a good sleeper for mummy and daddy. Other than our CP worries our boy is just the most amzing, beautiful baby I could imagine. It's amazing the love you feel, he's only been here for almost 2 weeks but it's hard to remember what it was like without him!!

Oh I forgot to mention - we thought this was a fluke the first time he did it, but it isn't - cheeky Tom can roll from his tummy to his back. He's done it a few times now, and he did it in front of his grandparents last night, which pleased me because I could tell they didn't believe me LOL. He's a determined little fellow.

I know, I nearly died when I realised he was doing it deliberately. I promise not to turn into one of those "My baby did this before YOUR baby" type of parents LOL. I learned a long time ago that the longer they take to learn to do stuff, the better - they're more easily contained that way ;)

The smartest of my kids, dd2 (who has an IQ of about 130 and is extremely gifted at academic stuff) was really late doing *everything*. She didn't talk til she was over two, was the latest reader of the lot of them, the slowest walker, everything she took her time with. Her older sister is pretty smart but not scary smart like dd2, and she did everything early. I learned that walking early isn't proof that your child will run marathons, it just means they'll get more bruises ;) And talking early just means you've got more time to get your ear nattered off!

TMTM - so sorry to hear about ur grandma. But I'm glad little Tom has been a good support for u. Little champ rolling over! That must be some kind of record! Lol
Ethan also feeds for 10-15 mins at a time. He feeds constantly which makes it hard for me to go anywhere, I spend a lot of time feeding in carparks lol. But he does have a good sleep between midnight and 4am then wakes up every hour and a half to 2 hrs after that or is just restless in his bed.
He's had an upset tummy the past few days, exploding nappies several times a day. I dont kno if it's a bug or something I've eaten but he's been really sooky and wants to be cuddled all the time. I dont mind cuddling him all day ;) coz he's the sweetest little bubby but it makes it hard for me to shower or clean the house. Lol. I'm thinking it could be a bug coz y.day I felt a bit off too and DH is feeling ill today.

tatt - my bump was only tiny, u might just be having a little baby. Which is a great thing, coz hopefully ur delivery will be easy like mine and no need for surgical tools or cutting etc to get her out! To be honest I think my dates were closer. I had my edd as the 6th and he came on the 2nd but they put him down as the 10th/12th (depending who u spoke to), but when he was born his skin was really dry, it's still flaking off now, like he's over cooked. And being an average size too for a baby 2 wks prem, if he went full term he would have been quite big. So the dates they give can be a little off unfortunately. But either way she'll be here next week!! Yippee! And u can still join this thread, will give u insight to whats around the corner for u.

I ventured out to Twinkle Toes today, got Ethan's hands and feet sculptured. So so cute! Then went shopping, bought him some outfits and got a heap of photos printed. Very tired now, so I'm off to bed.

Re feeds, Jack is now only feeding for about 15 mins, and he only wants one side. He is fairly settled most of the time, although last night he seemed to have a lot of wind and took til about midnight to get to sleep.

And yes I'm hearing you on the poo. I forgot how much there was too.

We had a very restless night last night. Went to bed at 9.30 and he woke up just as we went to bed. I fed him and he just wouldn't settle so I brought him to bed with me. I woke up an hour later and put him back to bed. He slept for 3 hrs then was up ALL night! Poor bubba was in pain and i couldn't do anything for him. Tho I'm not surprised, he was fully gulping milk... Lol such a noisy feeder! He's in my arm at the moment and is quite happy, but is a real sook when i put him down. So no housework today! :D
And he got the hiccups alot in the womb and gets them even more now! Lol

Well if bubby doesn't come today then I won't be in this babies group! Nothing stirring at all since yesterday not even period pains...got nothing to do except nag DP cause he won't DTD to get things moving (wants one last weekend to himself)...I just gotta keep thinking...4 sleeps til induction!

Emma just wanted to offer you some :grouphug:. The waiting truly sucks. Please feel free to hang out with us though, in this group (and in all groups) there are always some babies who came early or later... even by up to two weeks! The developmental difference won't be noticeable in a few weeks. Hang in there!

Dee - that sucks about the no sleep. I have a hiccoughing baby too. It is kinda distressing though, she does it after choking on my milk (I think my flow is too fast for her right now) I need to express some off before she feeds. Thankfully the hiccoughs don't bother her, just me!

Nelly has her bubs last nite! Sophia weighting 8.2pd! Congrats Janelle!!

had heaps of period and back pain overnite but has subsided now, she has hardly moved at all today though so am a bit worried, gonna try eat/drink somethin to get her moving. watched a show on foxtel where a lady had induction same as what im getting and it seemed to go quite well so im feeling abit better about it. just annoying caus it is so uncomfy to sleep now so i cant even enjoy sleep ins and STOOPID FKN DAYLIGHT SAVINGS vote today compulsory so i have to waddle down to local primary school just to write a big fat NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
its soooo lame, weve voted no 3 times, and they keep doing referedums...how is that democracy? if polititians want it so bad they should just implement it insted of stuffing us around with votes and 'trial runs' its really annoying!!!

Emma, I feel so badly for you - I went two weeks overdue with dd2, was staying with my parents (which was a nightmare in itself) and my xh was off gallivanting around with his girlfriend, and I was fit to murder someone. (Babies often quieten down just before they are born...) As for your baby being behind ours... stick around. Babies never do things at the same time, and we'd miss you :)

Dee, how's Ethan doing today, a bit more settled? Thomas' explosive nappies have calmed down now that I have finished my antibiotics, thank goodness. He was going to bankrupt us with all those nappies we were going through.

Kelly I hope there is still no sign of the dreaded pox...

I had a better night last night, not because Tom slept any better (although he did have one four hour stretch from after his bath to midnight) but because I gave up and just kept him in bed. I know he fed a lot but I was only half awake when he was getting on. Dh slept much better too which means he's less grumpy today ;) I've got a bit of mastitis but the redness seems to be going away on its own with a bit of massage and making sure he starts off on that boob for a few feeds in a row. I really don't want more antibiotics!!!!

Nat, haven't heard from you for a bit, hope you are having a lovely time with little Phillip. Looking forward to hearing everyone's news.
