Congratulations, Emma :) Enjoy little Jade!
Dee, glad the swing is working out for you - I am sorely tempted to get something similar. Thomas is being a bit of a wee devil at the moment. He slept much better last night (four hours, three hours, three hours) but he doesn't want to be put down today. He's stopped pooing overnight, but that means massive and constant poos during the day. The kid is going to bankrupt me just in nappies!! Lucky he's cute.
I hear u on the nappies! Ethan has a bad habbit of waiting till i put a clean nappy on him to poo! he did it 3 times in a row yesterday! Kmart have huggies bulk nappies on special for $29 we bought a couple and got some next size up too. I'm sure if he keeps this up well get thru them pretty quick, went thru 108 nappies in 2 wks!! Is that normal? Lol
argh it always double posts when I do it from my phone. Sorry girls. Lol
TMTM - the swing is definately a worthy investment! I get so much done now I couldn't before. Ethan is the same, never wants to be put down, when we first put him in the swing he cried, but we had it on the gentle swing setting so I made it faster and put it infront of the telly and he stopped crying and sat there for an hour! He grunts at us when he's had enough lol. Target have their nursery sale at the moment so we got this one for $97 instead of $130. There is another one thats blue for the same price (ours is yellow and blue with jungle animals) but the blue one wasn't as good as this one for the same price, then there is a red one with a panda for $75 but it didn't seem as sturdy as the one we got, i'm sure it's fine tho it's just me being fussy lol. This one is great tho coz it has a latch to hold it still to use like a highchair for feeding when he's bigger. It has lullabys for putting bub to sleep, nature sounds (birds and crickets etc) and then it has playful songs with an auto turning mobile which Ethan LOVES watching go round and round.
I love his morning naps now. Gives me time to have a shower, do my makeup, load or unload dishwasher and put on a load of washing, then when he wakes up he has a feed, nappy change and into the swing so I can hang out the washing put dishes away and tidy up around the house. I'm getting thru it all earlier and earlier each day. I love routines!
He slept last night from 11pm till 4.30am so we get that good stretch but same thing after that, restless till 7am.
I think I fed him too much last night, he was wide awake during the feed so I thought if he's taking it I'll keep giving it and he might sleep better. WRONG! I was projectile vomit target! Lol wont do that again.
Hi all,
Just a quick post today - we had a bit of a rough night.
How exciting that all our little babes are here! It feels like just yesterday we were all joining this group, and then moving through the joys of pregnancy together, and now here we are entering motherhood together too! Even just from reading this thread so far I feel so much better about little Emma's feeding/sleeping/nappy habits. I've just decided to go with the flow - if she wants cuddles then I'll give her cuddles. She's only going to be little for such a short time!
Nat - I'm sorry to hear about your Grandma. That's really sad. I guess all you can do is send her lots of pictures or maybe a video? It's not the same though, I Know.
Sorry - got to go - little bubby calling. :)
Hi everyone! Congrats Emma, Ray Ray and Nelly on the birth of your bub's
Dh went back to work today so first day on my own with the kids although Nathaniel is at preschool today which makes it a little easier, it did feel like a bit of a mammoth effort getting everyone ready and Sienna fed in time to leave, but we did it!
Sienna is such a great baby feeding really well and sleeping really well too last night it was 4 hours between feeds (so 3 hours sleep) but the night before it was 5 hours between feeds. If she has a bit of wind she just seems to deal with it herself has a bit of a cry but by the time we are off our seat and at her door she has stopped and put herself back to sleep  it lasts! ;)
Dee - I hear you on waiting for a clean nappy to do a poo, usually happens a couple of times a day:doh:
My sister finally had her baby a little girl  Sophie Grace. She has 3 boys and one girl already they were really hoping for a girl last time so we are all very excited for them especially for their daughter who has been desperate for a sister and is quite sick of her 3 brothers.
might go see if I can work out how to upload a photo, there is one on facebook now of our gorgeous little girl!
Oh by the way Nat, Sienna weighed 3972g (8pd 12oz) something must have gone wrong with the conversion bacause you have her as 3.6kg not 3.9. Also I'd prefer pounds to grams since you asked but I don't really mind, I know I wouldn't bother changing it all if I was you:D
Congrats Emma! Jade is finally here! Enjoy every moment. Can't wait to see pics.
Nat - Sorry to hear about your Grandma, I hope you find some way for her to see your little man.
Dee - that swing sounds great, we may need to invest in one. Liam is a wonderful sleeper through the day, no problems putting him down for a sleep, but come night time he is very sooky and takes a long time to fall off to sleep, he needs lots of cuddles and attention. Hopefully he gets night and day sorted out soon! Last night was our first good night in a while, 4 hour blocks between feeds which gave me a chance to catch up on a little bit of sleep!!
TMTM - I hear you on the poo! It seems that every nappy change Liam has done a poo!! I can't believe how many nappies and wipes we are going through, it is crazy. Unfortunately he doesn't just limit it to daytime, he poops all night too. I'm glad to hear someone else has the same experience though, i was beginning to worry about it!
BK - i hope you're recovering better from your c-section. I had one too, being my first I didn't know what to expect, but I've actually been surprised by how mobile I've been. The hardest part was the first few days, trying to get comfortable for breast feeding was hard. Have you found it's a longer recovery after each c-section?
KellyC - This is my 4th c/s - but the BEST one! It was an incredibly pleasurable birthing experience (which was different from my previous 3 c/s). I actually think that you initially bounce back faster with each c/s because you know exactly what is going on - therefore understanding your pain and managing everything better. But, I have found with each one that it takes longer each time once I get home.....that's probably a number of factors - age; increased body weight; more children. Today I am feeling a significant improvement - but after c/s, you do learn to take each day as it comes, and not feel guilty about unfinished housework etc, as pain management and recovery are ultimately most important. The biggest issue for me is the healing of the wound, as this is my 4th, it doesn't heal as fast as the 1st time - so that poses an additional 'burden' on my day.
TMTM - lol at poos! Reuben had a number of days where he would poo continuously as I wiped his little bottom.....yes, really! The more I wiped, the more he pooed....there's a lovely chain reaction for you. I started to wonder at what point I should just stop wiping and put his nappy on regardless. Thank goodness that seems to have settled down.
Sarah - that's the right attitude, albeit a difficult one when you are sleep deprived! They are so little for such a tiny amount of time. I just want to cuddle and cuddle, but have to remind myself that I have 3 other children who probably want some cuddles too!
Tam - YAY for good sleeping! Hope you have a nice day at home with your little girl! Our 3rd child is at preschool too, and my DH forgot to pick him up today! ARGH! But the staff were so understanding, they thought that DH & I might both be sleeping with the baby.....sweet!
Dee - We have looked at swings too - my SIL highly recommends one (can't remember which one) - but Reuben is such a wonderfully settled little lad that I now think that we might not get one......that's for now anyway!
Oscar & Rayray - how are your bubbies going? Getting much sleep.....loads of cuddles?
AFM - Reuben continues to be a wonderful little angel. He has his last feed between 10 & 11pm (which I have to forceably wake him for), and then only wakes between 3 & 4am before sleeping through to 7am. My DH keeps saying "I hope he stays like this!". Our first baby was just like this, even with us stumbling around blindly trying to work out what to do with a baby! lol.
We requested no visitors at the hospital, so my family haven't met him yet .... some of you know why ..... but this evening one of my brothers is coming around with his GF to meet him. Should be interesting, cause I haven't seen the GF for over 12 mths, and only saw this brother twice during my pregnancy (and he's very local, with no kids) - once because my other brother was in town and wanted to visit me, and most recently because he felt guilty that he hadnt made more of an effort. This brother is trouble when it comes to my difficult relationship with my mother, so it's all hands on deck tonight. DH is very defensive of me, and is a little up tight about the visit. Hopefully all will go smoothly.
BTW - anyone who wants my Facebook link, pls pm me! I'm gonna keep my photos there, and not try to upload on BB.
Sarah - I'm with u, get all the cuddles in now, housework will always be there. I do the bulk of it when Ethan's sleeping, more time for cuddles when he's awake. But we've had days where I cant do anything but cuddle him, i take advantage of that time to nap with him ;)
Tam - congrats on ur new niece! And good luck getting thru without dh. I'm sure ul do great! My dh started his new job last week so he only took 2 days off work.
All u girls with c/s take it easy ;)
It feels good that everyone has their babies now and they all arrived healthy! Sounds like everyone is doing well with their new little additions! :D
Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering if I can join you guys. My beautiful baby boy was born on 26th April, weighing 2.66kg (5lb 14oz) at 40 + 3 days. 47.5 cm long and HC of 31.5cm
I'm a second time mum, with a beautiful DD who will be 2yrs old in just over a month - how time flies.
Congratulations to everyone on the birth of your precious babies.
:welcome: welcome NellNell!
Happy to have u here! Congratulations on ur baby boy! :babyboy:
Wow what a teeny boy, and he was overdue by 3 days. How cute! :D
Still shamelessly stalking you all!
Just wanted to pop in and shower Emma with more congrats on little Jade! ;) So glad she was a stubborn one and came when she wanted to, inductions don't sound pleasant.
It's good to see you're all getting on so well with your new additions to your family, and I'm learning a thing or 2 myself for the future which is great because I was starting to run out of pregnancy things to learn ;)
Congrats Emma on the arrival of Jade! :leap: Only gas, what a trouper!
Welcome NellNell.
Sorry, not many persies from me. I just spent 3 hours settling Xanthe to sleep . Then DH accidently turned out the light to her room and woke her up. She is starting to struggle to attach properly and gave me bloody cracked nipples last night. Sigh. Lets hope tomorrow is a better day! We registered her birth today which felt great. We walked around the shopping centre with her in an ABA sling and she slept, it was great!
Hi all! Posting from hossy on my fone so just a quick one!
Jade Freya Arbon arrived monday 18 may at 1.12 am, contx started 5 mins apart at 6pm on sunday, by 730 they were 3 mins apart and when we got to hossy at 9pm they were 2 mins apart. Got into bath and had gas til about 11pm, went back to suite and just as I couldn't take any more and asked for morphine shot it was time to push! About 5 pushes and she was out! A few grazes and tears that didn't need stitching. But suspected dislocated coxic bone, have been on morphine since (so annoyed cause I did drug free labour) but its already a lot better...she is a champ feeder my bbs are pretty sore! But will not let go of me even to sleep!!! Sorry a bit out of it on morphine any questions just ask
CONGRATULATIONS EMMA!
:loveshower:
