Yea it is a Platinum Member feature Sheree.
I am so so tired and sick. Even the drugs aren't working now lol. I really have to do the grocery shopping though - there is literally no food here!!! At least tonight I am having take up LOL.
Em is just waking up so I better get moving before I fall asleep at the computer. Will be back sometime for personals!
Em is asleep and has been for awhile the poor little congested thing! I need to get him some more Panadol whilst I'm out.
Ohhh hope you both feel better soon, real soon Nat.
I hope so as well... I am still sitting here . Not even posting - just reading. My brain is like cotton. Em is awake now though so its shopping time!
I can't believe i am about type this but....
:bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp:
The line is a little faint but very visible!!!
I am going to re-test in the morning....
I cant fu**ing believe it!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Omg Sara how exciting for you congrats
Oh Sara I have been thinking of you .... Congratulations.
Well went for my walk - 7km's and it is so humid today I was dripping by the end of it. My cousin's hubby wants to go after work so can you believe I am going again tonight.....? ARGH. I think I might need to try and have a sleep to get me there. Do you think I am overdoing it?
BBL- Kaitlyn's a little grizzly today. Needles yesterday so could be from that.
Sara - Congrat's again.
:)
Sara you probably aren't excited given your circumstances, but wow. Congratulations hon.
What do you do for Adam at night Vic, or is he just a nice child whose happy to go to sleep? I'm not even sure a grobag type thingy would work.
We had to abort the photo and Santa mission......the Dragon was cranky and wouldn't smile. Re booked for Wednesday. So instead she got to go and have her needles....at least they are done here.
Right now every sleep has turned into a battle.....still offering a trade?!?!
Kim if you would like to take Kaitlyn for the day that's cool. Or I could take Darcy and Katy.....
.... and yes . . . I am sure!
As I said to you on MSN sara, CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS
Leanne - hope Katy settles down for you.
OMG everyone I have some news.
My boy got to 3 hours between bottles and was very hungry and upset. So Mum and I gave him some banana and pear farex and omg he ate the whole lot with no fuss. I have tried this some time ago and I won't go there but had a hell of a time, esp with farex, liked other foods but went off them quite easily too, fussy kid. But anyway I put 70-80ml of milk in it so that gives you and idea of the serving size - it was huge. And I also put a bit of apple juice (that was already diluted) into some water to wash it all down and he drank that too, totally amazing. Then gave him his bottle and he drank 70ml, so that was a total of 140ml including what I used in the farex. I could put the rest down the tube of his 120ml bottle but I gather I won't push it. He has done so well, all the feeding hassles we have had and we have (I hope) finally turned the corner. I was meant to start solids yesterday with the help of a speech therapist but then she had to cancel and I said to Wade I am not waiting another week, we need to start, then we are a day closer to no continuous feeds overnite. Yay, one happy mummer, you just don't realise how good this makes me feel. We have been thru so much.
Now to tackle the nite time sleeping, one step at a time I guess.
Oh and I forgot to say the other day, we took Lachlan to Santa and got a photo and he smiled first time, he is such a clever boy, my friends bub got so many photo's cause she just wouldn't smile. It was just a shame he had a tube hangin out of his nose.
Ohhh don't worry about it Vic, I can totally emphasise with you on Adam not drinking, regardless of how extreme or not it is still hard for each individual, if that is one thing I have learnt in the sense that there are kids far worse then Lachie with other illnesses that we saw in hospital, but as I have been told time and time again by people and my reflux support group, your situation is in prespective and having to deal with it on a day to day basis I need to be given credit for doing such as it is still just as hard as the next person. Does that make sense. Yes ours is extreme but we all deal with things differently too and the fact Adam use to drink well and now he doesn't and it is a fight and struggle to get them to eat/drink is so so hard. I guess on my pack of the cards too Lachlan was too small too which added to the stress levels and you never imagine a baby won't drink that is what they are here for to eat and sleep, and my child does neither. But things are looking up, thank god! Anyway enough of my rambling, yay for Adam eating the custard, YAY!!!! I think he is ready for solids and maybe just maybe mine is too, YAY - double Yay!
Afternoon all
well i have one very cranky little man he is cutting his top front teeth as well as having the jab yesterday it doesn't make a good mix and now my DD has a friend over so i have to cook a decent meal instead of slap up night like i had planned hubby not home yet & baby screaming yay my life sucks
i have been so upset today a very good friend of mine left queensland and moved back to Nsw for good yesterday she took her kids and just left ... no good bye no nothing she gave a letter to another friend to give to me only after she was gone only because i know her S & BIL i feel totally ripped off that our friendship meant absolutely nothing to her i don't know how to feel about it all ... ( no need to reply just getting it out there )
Oh that is terrible Shazz, maybe she had a reason, well lets hope!
Poor Ryan and poor you having to cook dinner, that would be me too no partner just slap something together.
That's great news Sheree! That's a big jump for him. Hoping that's your corner.
Vic, wonder why Adam's so off......great he ate though. Yep you have a nice child.
Shazz, you're right, it does suck for you this arvie.....takeaway? Kids like slapup meals don't they....you could always tell them it's their turn to cook and DH could clean up when he gets home. Gees Ryan you coulda timed it a bit better mate, mum's having a shocker. I'm really sorry that you're sad over your 'friend'. I wouldn't do that to you if I lived near you.
We had our first meal at a restaurant tonight since Darcy was born. She was quite good as long as we kept up the avocado and potato (that she won't eat at home). Cam's got real nightshift (10-6am)for the first time in ages and is feeling a bit sorry for himself so we got to eat out ....hope there's more nightshifts....though hang on it's different when I do them every week.
I thought Darcy wouldn't start speaking for ages. She makes lots of noise but no real sounds, then out of the blue this afternoon while I was trying to feed her, she got cranky and started with mumumumum and bububub! Now she hasn't stopped. Can't quite believe it. Oh and it only took 10minutes tonight instead of 3 hours....woohoo!
What an achievement Kim, whahoo on Darcy speaking YEAH! Lachlan says dADADADA but not all the time. Nice on going out for dinner, seems a thing of the past for us these days.
I wasn't real keen, but it waas the first time in 6 months and I guess we had to try it sometime.
Hello all.
Well I did it. I walked twice in one day. I am officially pooped. 14 kms. I think I deserve some ice cream :)
We're off to dinner tomorrow night for my dad's birthday - Chinese, can't wait. It will be the first time we've taken Kaitlyn out for dinner like that so it will be interesting. As long as I have something for her to munch on she'll be fine. Just keeping her in one spot will the the challenge. Kid can't sit still for long.
Well I'm off to give Kaitlyn her bath - bottle - and bed.
Personals tomorrow - promise.
:)
Evening ladies,
Wow you's have been chatting up a storm today. Good to see.
Sorry, but i am not up for personals AGAIN tonight. Great to see that lachie is feeding for you though Sheree.
Well, i still cant believe that i am pg again. I am scared that when i retest in the morning that there is going to be a negative looking back at me! How embarrasing would that be!
Anyways...of too bed now. I am very tired.
Talk tomorrow.
Nite
Vic - yeah I think he is telling you something htat is for sure.
Sara - just remember you can get false negatives but rarely false postitives
Leanne - enjoy dinner out tomorrow nite sounds like fun.
OMG OMG, you are not going to believe this, make sure you are all sitting down ok.
My boy had his bottle at 6pm 110ml.
We decided to try to feed him solids at 8pm and then bath him and but him to bed with a bottle.
Gosh he didn't want to stop, we gave him the banana and pear farex again as we did today and nope it wasn't a coincidence, my boy is well and truely ready for it and not even slightly refusing it as he was around the 4.5 - 5 - 5.5 mth mark. I didn't even have to distract him with toys/sounds/lights as the speech therapist suggest he just wanted me to keep shuveling it in. OMG I am in total shock, we even had to stop him, he had farex with 110mls of formula and then went onto those gel fruits (fruit salad) in a bottle and nearly polished off the whole bottle. We decided to stop him only because we didn't want to overdo it as he had had heaps anyways. Golly gosh I have a changed boy that I am not all going to complain about.
Now hopefully he sleeps thru, now that would be nice.
I tell ya what ladies I don't remember a day where I was so happy that my child is finally feeding and golly gosh wanting more. I never thought I would see the day. I have been on the phone all night telling his Aunty, his nana, his poppy.
I am one very very proud mumma.
Makes it all worth while now what we have had to endure.
Thanks for all your support ladies through the toughest times of my life.
Heres hoping that part of the book is closed off and closed off for good and now I have a little angel on my hands.
Oh Sheree... I am SO HAPPY for you.
You have been to hell and back, and it must have been so hard to not have a definate reason for lachy's problems. So it must be such a relief that he is woofing down his food (and drink) now. He will pile on the weight and catch up to all his little buddies now.
It's so good to hear the happiness in your post. Not that we mind "being here" for you when you were stressed out. That's we are here for. But I'm so glad that Lachy has done a turn around.
My little shaun has a rotten cough... and it seems that we can't do anything to relieve it. He doesn't seem too perturbed by it... but sometimes he wakes up when he is 'barking'... and it must be frustrating for him sometimes. I've had a vapouriser in his room all week, and today I bought some baby vicks chest rub (although the poisons info boo hoos the chest rubs). I just ensured it was only on his chest and he was wearing a jumpsuit so that there is no chance he can "eat it". He's meant to have his 6 month shots next Tuesday... but if he's still got this cough I might have to reschedule.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Sara ~ Congratulations Chick...wonderful news.
Sheree ~ Lachie is doing so well now, it must be such a relief for you and Wade.
Sorry to hear that some of you have sick little ones, it is such a horrible time when they are sick....sometimes you feel quite helpless.
I went in to check my flybuys points and I had nearly 11,000 (woo hoo)....I used the points to get Samuel a Vtec laptop. I did have a look at them when chrissy shopping. It takes upto 28 days to arrive, so hopefully it will arrive in time for christmas.
Good nite...X
I am so sorry for not keeping up with personals!! I will pop in and out over the weekend but probably wont be back till Monday at this rate!! Especially with the way I feel.
Excellent news Sheree - you can definately see how happy you are!! YAY for Lachlan!!!
Mummy I love Flybuys - they are great! Last time I got a Portacot - which now currently resides at my mums house LOL.
Alright I'm heading off to bed! Night.
Excellent News sheree sorry i can't do any more personals i already running really late for work bbl
Wow Sheree, I couldn't make Darcy eat that much in a pink fit!!
Well she's been running a temp of 38.4 this morning. Finally got it down to average with no clothes and some panadol. Guess it was the needles. She doesn't seem unwell just very clingy early this morning and now she's gone back to her usual supercharged self. We're trying to be quiet so Cam can sleep. Think it might be safer to just go out.
Morning Ladies,
:happyforyou: YAY LACHIE!!!!!!!!!!! :happyforyou:
That is excellent news Sheree. You have done so well through this tough time. You are one very strong and determined woman. I applude you!! Lachie is a VERY lucky little man. I am so glad this are starting to look up for you and your family.
Kim - I hope Darcy is ok. Poor little bubba girl. Its hard when the "men" are on n/s hey. When brent was i used to just lay around on the lounge room floor and play with Briley and watch tv too keep her quiet. Not that she is overly loud but i am sure you know where i am coming from. A least you were able to get her temp back down. Was that the 6 months needles she went for??? I hope Briley does'nt have a reaction like that to them. She did with the first lot. Normal reactions but it still was scary.
Nat - IKWYM about keeping up with personals. We seem to chatting up heaps lately. I always leave it to the night time and by then i am sooo tired all i want to do is go to bed. Are you not well?? I hope you feel better soon.
Karen - Thanks mate. It is wonderful but scary news!! I should have been prepared for it. I knew what i was doing!! I need to get meself a fly-buys card. I always shop at coles now. Woolies is giving me the sh*ts lately!! How much is that in dollars??
Jodie - Sorry to hear Shaun is'nt feeling well. Have you tried some Baby Balsam for his cough. I used that on Briley when he had a cough and it worked a treat. If you dont like rubbing it on his chest maybe rub some around the top of his suits so he can breathe it in.
Well Briley is onto 2 solid meals a day now. She still has about 4-5 bottles though. I always try and give her some water when she is eating but she never drinks much. She prefers to just try and hold the bottle herself and play with it. I dont mind cause at least she is getting the taste for the water a bit. She def loves her tucker. I have been giving her mash nana mixed with a little formula in the morning with a bottle and then mashed veg (potato, pumpkin, zucchini and carrots) and a little bit of water and then a bottle.
When i saw the CHN last month she told me to give Briley water and i said she did'nt like it so she told me just to let her sip out of my glass when i have water. This works great. She sips heaps when i do this. I should do it a little more often though.
Briley also responds to her name when it is called now. She turns her head towards you when you call out to her. Its so cute! Its amazing how much things are starting to develop now. She still has'nt mastered crawling yet though. She can roll her way around but no crawling.
Well i did another test thismorning and it was just as faint as yesterdays. I was freakin out so bad that i was going to be neg!! It comes up with the control line first and takes a while for the second line to come in. And even then its quite faint. I must not have much HCG at the moment. I might go and see the Dr on monday i think. I still cant believe i am PREGNANT!!!
Not much on today. We were going to go camping but Brent still has'nt been paid out yet. We are so behind on our bills for this week. I am really starting to panick about how we are going to cope. I have to try and remain positive. I keep trying to think that these things happen for a reason but its not very reassuring.
Anyways....this has turned into a mammoth post.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Ok sooo not a coincidence now, loved his food again this morning. Did I tell you all how happy I am LOL.
I just want to scream it to the world.
He is even sleeping better during the day, he must have developed a real hunger hey?
I just want to scream it to the world.
MY CHILD EATS AND EATS WELL YAY
Ohhh and I know Kim, and he won't stop, we have to stop him. What is with that! I have a very changed child that I am not at all complaining about.
well done sheree a light at the end of the tunnel i'm so pleased for you and Wade and of course Lachie too and lovey shout it from every roof top you can find you deserve this happiness
Well it's up to 39.4 now.....she's still not fussed but she's sooooo hot. Don't know what else to do for her....
I bought no christmas pressies, but I did get a new doona cover.
Sara have faith things will work out. Our bills don't always get paid on time either.
Shout away Sheree!
Kim - Maybe you should take her to the hospital. It may not be worrying her but i am pretty sure its not good for them to be overheated that much. Maybe give that 13HEALTH number a call. Just to get some advice anyways. Better to be safe than sorry!
Sheree - SHOUT AWAY..........I'd be happy as larry aswell!!
I just gave Briley some weetbix with honey. Is that bad?? I have read that your not spsed to give either of them but she was hungry and i didnt want to give her the vegies till this arvo.
Sheree- that is such fantastic news about Lachie eating!! You must be so relieved. Hopefully all the worry is now behind you.
Sara- Congratulations on the pg, and sorry about DH's job, hoping he gets a new one really soon, I know that bill paying stress, I have become adept at telling the phone comp. etc that of course I am about to pay!!I hate money, I always think I really deserve to win lotto but I never do. I often wonder what it would be like to be rich and not stressing from one pay to the next.
Kim- Putting her in a bath to cool her down is good advice I have done that with my older 2, you do not want her getting too hot, my 1st had febrile convulsions at 12 months and its very frightening.
Mummy- gotta love the old fly buys, I got a thing from them yesterday saying I could get $20 Coles voucher for 2500 pts or $50 for 6250pts plus a lot of other things for under 10000 pts. We have been collecting for years and have had some really good things out of them including flights. The only bummer is that in this latest brochure they said Myer is pulling out as of January.
Jodie- I am looking forward to seeing you on a new game show, how exciting and so much better financially than Medical Emergency!!
Well my 2 youngest went to sit on santa's lap this morning, Riley was his usual calm self, not smiling but not fussed either. The photo looks good so I am happy, its times like these I wish I didn't have quite so big an age gap and could get all 3 of them in the photo but you should have seen the look of disgust Jess gave me when I suggested it!!
Kim did you say that was her temp??? That is not good at all, maybe you should go to emergency.
Ok I am shoutin away can ya all HEAR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wasn't going to give Lachlan 3 meals a day, but he just appeared hungry again, so I gave him some fruit, gosh he is a hungry hungry boy.
Vic - glad adam is atleast eating for you, that is great.
Sara - I have heard honey is not good, something to do with allergies I think. But I do also think that is only a new thing they have found too.
OMG gals I cannont keep up to him, my initial thoughts were to ease into it but he won't allow me to do that. I am in two frames of mind, I want to just go with him as I think he needs it too and if he wants it then I am certainly not complaining, but I also don't want to overdo it and clog him up. Help! What to do!
My child the eating MACHINE! Who would have ever thought!
Sheree... if he's hungry - I'ld feed him. He will put on some decent weight. Avoid potato as that tends to 'block him up'... but if you have a variety of fruit and veges he should be getting fibre to keep him regular. Try to keep giving him as much fluids as possible.. ideally milk, but water if he's not keen on his milk. They say you should try the milk first, then the solids....
Has he been passing bowel movements okay?? Just keep an eye on them. If you are concerned, feed him all he will take; then call your maternal nurse on monday...
I'm sure it is fine to feed him - as it's not like he's going to become obese overnight!
Happy for you!
hi guys i feel absolutely horrible my throat is on FIRE just what i need
Kim~ hows Darcy now ??? temp down
Sheree ~ just as jodie said i'd feed him too then speak to you health nurse or Gp to see what they recommend for Lachie seen as he has had so many troubles with feeding but while his into it go for it i would say
Well it got the better of me when it started to go back UP after a cool bath and being in the AC all arvo so I took her to emergency. She fell asleep in my arms while we were waiting (I mean just sitting - no rocking) and she never does that, and then her temp hit 39.8 while we were in there she was just crappy. After a while and more panadol it went right down so we've just gotten home in time for Cam to go back to work. So now I'm sitting here eating Red Rooster befroe I go to bed. The Dragon wore herself out being far too cute for everyone that came in to look at her and is fast asleep.
Sheree I agree with Jodie. He'll tell you when he's had enough....he always did with the bottles. They still very much have that primal full/hungry feeling.
Shazz that's terrible about your sore throat. Hope last night wasn't too terrible for you. Thanks for thinking of us.
Vic is that true about pear and apple? Right steering clear of them....don't want any more than 4 a day LOL.
Sara honey is ill advised for little people as it cannot be sterilised and it can carry botulism which can be fatal in small children (and adults but we have stronger guts).
So Kim what was wrong with her?
And you are right that is exactly what I said to Wade's Mum 2nite, that I am sure he will tell me if he has had enough, being the child he has been to date, thanx.
Vic - yeah I have given him alot of pear, so hopefully that helps.
Where are you Tania, might send you a text.
Thanks for the advice Jodie and Shazz I sooo hope you feel better soon.
Sheree Glad to hear he's feeding like a trooper. I'm sure he knows when he's full but I understand your concern seeing as he's had such a turn around. I am sure both and you he will figure out his limits over the next few days.
Kim I hope Darcy is feeling better.
Shazz I hope your throat is better soon... I can totally empathise with you right now
Still here... slowly dying!! LOL. I went to my aunty's 30th tonight - almost didn't go and regretted it for awhile there. On the way there I almost got hit by a car - idiot decided not to merge and try to speed up and overtake me on my left side. I didn't even see him till he was almost at my rearvision mirror . God knows what he thought he was doing. Then we got there and the 36 degree weather had dropped dramatically and I was cold in my skirt. And then went into the venue to find it was upstairs and it had no lifts.... so we had to carry the bloomin pram!!! BUT after all that it was a good night and I am definitely ready for bed now. Working again tomorrw - will pop in if I can to say hi. Will be back properly for personals sometime Monday!!
Night girls.
Hey everyone,:hello:
I have just joined this Thred, and hoping to learn alot from you all and hopefully be able to help others too.
I was just wanting to know, how many hours sleep everyones darling babies are getting.
The reason I ask is because I think my DD might be getting too much during the day, and it's the reason why she is starting to wake more during the early morning.
She has been sleeping through (7-5) for sometime now, but just recently has been waking 2-3 in the early morning. I'm not sure if it's because she is sleeping 3 sometimes 4-5 hours in the day for if it's because she is getting too hot, as the little bugger still won't sleep unwrapped. I have devised a way to wrap her so there is no cloth over her body, just underneath which keeps her arms down. But sometimes she is still sweaty.
I know every baby is different, but I am just curious what other babies her age routines are like.
Kim, I was so sorry to hear about your Bub, I hope she is O.K now, do you know what caused the temp?
Hi Mel, welcome!! Congratulations on your preg too!
Nope i have no real concrete answer, but she did have her needles Friday. She wanted to sleep with me all night....great....so I've had none but today she wouldn't eat her breakfast. That's a bit odd cos even though she's really slow she always eats it.
I'm pretty sure I wrap Darcy the same as you do, but I'm also not really able to answer for you as Darcy's awake sometimes many many times a night. She has dropped one of her day sleeps though all by herself. She usually wakes for a feed between 5-6am sometimes she snuggles and goes back to sleep for an hour but not usually. We get up about 7/7.30 and have brekkie, then she has another feed between 9-10. If we have to go out she sleeps beforehand and if we don't (like today) she sleeps after the feed. Same for the lunchtime feed. Then occasionally she has a 20minute nap at 4pm. She gets maybe 2.5-3hours during the day? Darcy is also a really hot child and can sweat through sheets and a wrap though when you take her temp it's ok. I have a fan on her at night. Sometimes they start to wake a bit when they are learning something major like crawling/talking. Have to say I'm jealous of anyone whose baby sleeps from 7-5. LOL
Hi Kim,
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I feel releaved when I hear other babies being wrapped at six months too. I sometimes feel I have the only baby in the world who won't sleep unless she's wrapped. It gives me the willies when I have people saying to me, oh your mum is still wrapping you won't she let you sleep upcovered. I used to explain why I still wrap her, but now I just try to ignore the comments.
Wow so Darcy can go for 6 hours in a row during the day without a sleep, that's amazing, my Charlie can only go 2.5 to 4 hours at most. Yesterday she went 6 but that was a first and then slept 2 hours in the afternoon and wanted more but I had to wake her for her dinner at 5.
Charlie had her needles on wed too, got put out of sort abit. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but since then she hasn't eaten much of her dinner and has been since around that time since she has been waking early in the morning. HCN said to feed her dinner earlier at 4:30 - 5:00, then give her a bottle before she goes to bed at 6;30- 7:00, the only problem with that is she doesn't drink much after her dinner 40-100ml. So I'm thinking this may be contributing to the wakings. I'm not worried too much about the 40-100ml, as I read somewhere as long as they consume 500ml a day they should be fine. But because she sweats alot when she sleeps, it does bother me slightly, as she only drinks around 500ml a day.
Thanks for your support and info, much appreciated.
