sheree - i am crying with relief, i just visited RISA and read all the info. None of the doctors, surgeons or nurses have ever offered me any info on GORD reflux, and for the last 6 months i have been thinking that i am just not cut out for motherhood, with peoples comments like 'oh its just reflux, all babies have that' and 'let him cry he'll go to sleep eventually' its so unfair that other mothers can treat each other the way they sometimes do. i now know why Archie has been an awful sleeper, why he constantly breastfed (he is on formula now), why he always needs to suck, and the rest. i can't thank u enough for telling me about that site! ur poor little boy, its no wonder u think im crazy for ttc#2, we only just started this month i figure i might as well get all the broken sleep over and done with all at once. i think if i waited tilArchie was 2 i would never want to go back to the baby stage again!! do u have to feed lachlan through a tube because of reflux or was it something else??

Alison of course you are welcome back silly, I told you ages ago to come back. Nice to see you here again sweets.
Elissa - aggghhhh glad I could be of assistance, I joined that support group a membership of $30 a year I think, and it has been well worth it for me. They are know what us reflux mums go through and I agree with you heard that comment ohhh so many times, all babies have reflux, and yes alot of babies chuck up but just some seem to be in more pain then others. Is archie on Medication? Lachlan is on Losec (every doctor I have seen lately have said the best on the market) and Domperidome (for his chucking up). I also know what you mean re: Not cut out to be a mother, I have blamed myself so many times and wondered what the hell I was doing wrong, but I have slowly overcome these issues. I always thought being a mother wouldn't be easy but I also thought it wouldn't be this hard either. I can't even say I even bonded with my son until he was atleast 3mths old and then all our problems got considerably worse at 4-5 mths old and have only just started to see the light, which I never ever thought we would. Is your son eating solids, do you have feeding problems? Yes we have to feed Lachlan down the tube less and less these days but we still have our bad feeds and the tube is handy to get it into him, hopefully it will be gone soon  And yes all reflux associated, he apparently looks at bottle/milk as pain and would drink but would only wet the whistle and most of the time before the tube we would have to nurse him to sleep to feed him, or wake all through the nite to dreamfeed him, otherwise he wouldn't have grown as well as he did. He was well under the 3rd percentile, but is slowly creeping up now. Your boy was big born, how heavy is he now???? Any other questions feel free to ask ok.

Evening Ladies,
Alison - YAY!!!! I'm glad you finally decided to come back!! Its great to have you back hun.
Elissa - You'll have to forgive me but i dont remember you!! Glad you made it back too! Looking forward to chatting with you a little more.
Tania - You poor darling. I know what its like to be pulled in a million and one directions. I'm sure you will decide what is best. Good luck with it all hun. I am always here if you need to talk.
Sheree - YAY LACHIE!!!! That awesome news!! I am so happy for you Sheree. I really hope it all continues going so well for you all. At least now you have someone to talk to here at BB now about your situation. That must be good.
Kim - The assignment is difficult. You really have to see it too be able to help out. Thanks heaps though. Hope your headache has gone. I have had a terrible one this arvo too.
Well ladies....I am off to bed. I am knackered!!
Hope all is well with everyone is their litlins!
Talk to you all in the morning.
-
Thanx SAra
Ohhh and forgot to tell everyone that Lachie had his needles today and he was really good! Cried, as you do, but one they were out and I huged him he was instantly ok and has been ever since. I guess he has indured so many needles (blood tests and drips) and being prodded all over the place, that he has built up some tolerance towards it all.
And as I have said before on previous needles, I have endured more screaming with his reflux. But I have also found that each time he has had needles he has gotten better and better, but can't say it was ever too bad at all.
And it appeared that he was waving today. Went into my work and the lady waved and he started throwing around his right arm and stopped, she started again and he did it again and again so on. Really did seem like he was trying to do it.
ni ni everyone.
-
Alison - of course its ok to pop back in hun! You are more then welcome! Its good to hear from you.
Kelle ~ Fantastic to here from you hun!!
Sorry I haven't posted much - I've been keeping up with you all but things have been up and down here. Just starting to get over this darn cold. BB is taking ages to load or post or do anything for me and I just haven't had the patience. Will catch up on personals soon I hope!!
-
Hope you feel better soon Nat

Alison ~ welcome back too long time no post how have you been and how is cooper going ? can you beleive these bubs are 6 months already they will be 1 before we know it i wish it would slow down just a little

big Hi to any one i missed i'm sorry i have a fuzzy head and i am having trouble remembering what day it is let alone anything else
well girls looks like Ryan is going to be bottle fed from now on he just doesn't seem interested in being breast fed and when i do get him on he bites the heck out of me i am begining to not like it one little bit, I feel a little bit better though i seriously can't hear a thing my ears are so blocked which in a way could be a good thing i can't hear my 2 oklder ones fighting and bickering though i worry cause i can't hear ryan on his monitor at night i have it up so loud and it is right beside my head and i still have trouble. We are off to the MCHN today to get weighed and have a chat about this feeding thing so i will be back later
-
Hi Elissa and welcome back!! Congratulations on Archie's arrival and what a big bubba hehe!! Good luck with TTC #2...I can't wait to have another!
Sheree: I'm going shopping tonight (for some reason I still have most of my pay from last week and we can't have that LOL) But I'll see how I go Friday either meet me in town or if I'm not too tired I might come out there. Good to hear Lachie's needles were ok, last thing you need is more problems!!
Kim: How did Darcy go with Santa? I want to take Jayden soon, he met Santa last week but didn't sit on his knee. Shame about the other pics, least you saved some $$
Hi Alison and welcome back too!
Nat: You poor thing, I hope that cold is gone soon!!
Shazz: I've said it before and I will say it again.....well done for BF'ing as long as you did, esp with Ryan's teeth!! I hope you get better soon too, lose of hearing would be awful!! Good luck with Ryan's weigh in and check up.
The IL's went to visit Jayden yesterday at SIL house, my guess is FIL wanted to see him because I wasn't there.....MIL sent me a MMS of Jayden in the highchair eating, I couldn't reply to her though cause I was fuming knowing that FIL was there!! That got to me too yesterday which is probably partly why I got so upset oh and AF came last night so that too haha WHAT A CR@PPY WEEK!!! Can't wait for it to be over. With all the negitives ATM I do have 1 positive.....Jayden slept through again last night and he went to bed a bit earlier than the night before too. The only thing different I have done is changed his formula from step 1 to step 2.....So maybe that is it step 1 wasn't keeping him full??
Ok have a great day girls......I'm doing a bit (pfft.... a lot) of retail therapy this arve...Ii think I deserve it hehe
oxoxox

Hey, Allison! I was only thinking of you yesterday! How's Cooper? Need to update your ticker so we can see him.
Sheree I know you were only joking. And believe me i can understand, but I never thought I'd be this desperate right now to have another either. Weird huh. Did I say congratulations for Lachie's weight? If not YOU ARE DOING A GREAT JOB  :)
Oh Tania sweetie. It's nearly Friday. Darcy was actually good with Santa. She HATES anyone other than me and Cam ATM so I was really surprised. She wouldn't smile but she's not upset either. GO JAYDEN GO JAYDEN!!!
No worries Sara, good luck with it. Are you feeling better today?
Oh Shazz ears are awful aren't they? Did they prescribe you some drops or something??? There's plenty of things the chemist can suggest. How are you feeling about the BF thing? Are you positive?
I'm going out for dinner tonight with my mothers group girls for chrissie. Really looking forward to it. Cam's going out as well so Nanny's coming to watch Darcy. Might try and get the rest of the christmas shopping done this arfternoon and wear Darcy out. What do you buy for blokes you have nothing in common with and who have no interests (aka the ILs)?
-
Buy them nothing Kim LOL......FIL is getting nothing from me. Maybe I'll get him a xmas stocking with a lump of coal in it LOL
-
I was thinking I would say something Vic but I don't know if I should go that far....It would be ok if MIL just went over. I got out xmas pressies last night to see what else I needed to get, now just to find time to wrap them LOL..............As much as I love presents Mel can keep hers LOL.
Well SIL isn't here to look after Jayden and I have to be at work in 15mins.....Looks like I might get a day off haha
-
No thanks Vic! I've already changed two surprises this morning.....don't know whether she's reacting to the mango or whether she has a touch of something....TMI but yesterday I picked her up and had to change my shirt YUK!
-
Hello Everyone,
Sara, congratulations on your pregnancy!! How are you feeling??
-
Again just posting quickly....
I was late to swimming lessons this morning because the silly school near it had some sort of silly end of year presentation so I had to park a few streets away and walk!!! Then when I got there I realised I lef the towels at home!! Then Em decided to uh fill his swimmers while swimming!! And when I changed him afterwards I only had 2 wipes left.... grrrrr and I had to leave there sopping wet!!
Oh if this is the beginning of the day I think I'm going back to bed again!!!
-
Hello Angelique and Katerina :hello:
Tania - not so sure if we can catch up honey, I have a busy day 2morrow, I have a morning tea baby shower for a lady at work, then I have to be at paed appt I think for 2.45pm, then home to get ready for wade's staff xmas party, then we leave Saturday morning for 2 weeks. Geez this time of year is just crazy, I hate it! Ohhh just had a thought while I get ready maybe you could come out and look after Lachie for me, and I still have more packing to do, only a thought, don't expect it, only if you want to.
Ohhhh nat what a day, hopefully it gets better for you honey.
Vic your little boy is a good sleeper, send some of those sleepy vibes thisa way would ya. Me is one very tired mummy!Oh and that sleeping bag doesn't have to be big for us, he is still in 0000 and 000. I agree with you that all babies are different but your chances of having another reflux baby are quite high and I could not handle two reflux babies atm, but I still want to have 2 under the age of 2, I reackon I will be able to handle that better, just not yet for me.
Kim - I am the same would love to be pregnant again and have a little (and know what I am doing this time) one desperatly but am using my head not my heart. So don't want another quite just yet, I am still a little sensitive and Lachlan still aint really that better yet, and I can barely cope with 1 let alone 2 atm. I actually think it will be good to have my toddler help out too seeing as he will be able to interact more then. Have a nice time at your mothers group xmas party, sounds great, I should have organised one but just too busy atm.
Shazz you have done so well with the bf thing, my hat really goes off to you and you have to stop then so be it, you have done a SUPER SUPER job!
Well Lachlan was a little better last night but keeps waking up for a feed. Seems to be around 2pmish, which I don't mind at all, atleast he is wanting to feed. So he slept from 9pm always wakes up crying within the hour, fed at 2pm then he slept till 5am with quite a bit of tossing and turning and I always give in and get him into bed with us, as he continues to spit his dummy out and atleast I can easily put it back in and keep him asleep. But then he was wide away at 6.40am and Mummy just wanted to sleep in. Wade is so good he takes him out for me to let me rest as Daddy doesn't hear all the squirming and Mummy can't switch off to it at all.
Geez it was hot here yesterday, so humid, the humidity was at 85%. Even the a/c was struggeling to keep up.
-
Morning again ...
Kim ~ i'm on antibiotics and yeah i think i'm ok about the BF i am still offering the breast first although that i know he is going to get all chompy but i still feel like i have to try but i'm quite willing to go the ff is thing get drastic and i agree to on the IL buy them nothing ...... they haven't been good ..
Vic ~ no worries i was wondering whether you'd got it and definately it has gone up in price.. lucky they have a lifetime garantee (sp) otherwise i don't think it would still be around
forgot to add
Ryan now weighs 8.2kg woohoo over the 8 kg mark finally it felt like he was never going to get there he just hovering for so long
and awww thanks sheree
-
OMG OMG OMG! I'm so excited! Just put Darcy down for a sleep. She's got a dreadful stuffy nose so I had to give her some demazin so she could feed. Usually she's dreadful on that stuff so I expected a fight. I left her on her side but straight away she pulled her dummy out and rolled onto her belly to play.
A few minutes later I thought she was a bit quiet so I went in to check.....tada! She'd put te dummy back in and was asleep on her belly! Yay. Stupid I know but unheard of for her.
Nat, start again love, your day is blech!
Hey Ang!
-
-
Oh thanks but excitment was preempted....she only slept for half and hour.....:(
-
Ohhh ok Vic you are the mummy expert if you think he should be in 00 then I will take your advice hun, thanx.
-
Afternoon Ladies,
Wow you girls have been chatting up a storm today. Must be the hot weather hey.
Well i have some good news!!! I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its only temp from monday till 31'st Jan. So that is great. And Brent starts his job tomorrow! So things are starting to look up a little for us.
On the downside. I went to the toilet this arvo and saw a little brown discharge. I think i might miscarry. I have been getting lots of cramps the last few days but nothing serious. I have been very blah all day. Not sure WTF is going on with my body but i am def confused. I hope everything is ok. I would be really sad if something bad were to happen. But......POSITIVE THOUGHTS!!!
Anyways....
BBL for personals.
-
WTG Sara and Brent on the jobs that must be a load off
i'm sending you positive thoughts also try not to stress if your worried go and ask for an early scan i had spotting on and off all through my pg with ryan good luck hun
-
As I said on MSN to you Sara, I bled alot too and here we are - a cheeky little devil hehe. So chin up honey, all can and will be fine.
Hey just thought I would pop on for a sec, tomorrow is a jam packed day for us and then we leave to go to Warrick on Saturday Morning and then off to Brissy the following week. So won't be on again and will chat to you all when we return. Bye Bye :hello:
-
Thanks for welcoming me back everyone. It took me a while to build up the courage to post after such a long absence, but you are stuck with me again.
Kim, I updated my ticker, hopefully you can see my beautiful boy better.
Cooper is doing really well. He is a big healthy boy (8.36kg) and doing all the things he should be doing, rolling both ways non stop and is almost sitting unsupported. He has been sleeping through the night since 12 weeks, and his day sleeps are ok...
I am going back to teaching next year and DH (Tony) is going to be a SAHD, so that should be interesting. I dont want to leave Cooper but my job is financially more stable and it will be good for Tony to have a break from the physical work he has been doing. He was recently diagnosed with a rare heart condition so I need to look after his health. We will start TTC #2 when Cooper turns 1, so I am looking forward to that.
Sara, congrats again on the jobs. I am glad things are looking up for you and Brent again. You don't need the stress right now. Like I said on MSN, I had cramps at the start of my pregnancy too, and it is quite normal.
Sheree, wow you have been through a really rough time havent you, but it is so good to hear things are improving, and you sure do sound a lot happier. Way to go Lachie. Have a great trip. Hope to catch up with you soon.
Kim, yay on getting Darcy to go to sleep on her own. She may have only slept for half an hour but its a start.
Nat and Shazz, you both sound miserable being sick. Hope you are both better soon.
Hi to everyone else. There are a few new people in here that I didnt know when I was here before, so hope to get to know you all better soon.
Anyway, thats as far back as I can go. It's great to be back too :)
-
Nite all

Ok folks I think I have my mojo back. I've finally got BB downloading as fast as can be again!! For which I am eternally grateful. The pages were taking minutes to load and in my cranky state I couldn't be bothered waiting or posting . I've also finally begun to feel better. Still coughing a bit and have a runny nose but at least most of the tiredness has gone. The day did get better.
I went and picked up my Robbie tickets which I bought off a friend at cost price!! Whoo hoo - I am now going to see Robbie! Its next Tuesday night and I'm so excited!!!
Then I went shopping and got some really cool bargains. Got the cutest little outfit for Em for Christmas with a Santa Hat!! Also got a new pair of shoes and some clothes for me. I'm thinking I need a nice sexy top for the Robbie concert though... you never know - I could get pulled from the very BACK of the stadium to meet him on stage LMAO!!!!
Well I better get to bed. Will catch up on personals over the next few days I'm sure. Sorry again that I've been MIA.
Love to you all!
-
Oh my gosh, I have not even bothered with christmas presents yet or putting up the tree!! Ahhh it is all coming too sooon!!!
Anyone got any teeth out of their little bubz? I am waiting and waiting for some cute ones to pop out!!
-
Morning all!! Dinner last night was really nice.
Had a looky at your website Allison. He's lovely!
Glad to hear you girls are feeling a tad better. Sara so glad to hear about your work. I guess Brent was able to get that card he needed. I don't know much about bleeding during preg, but I am sending loads of positive vibes your way and thinking of you.
Woops missed your post Ange. No teeth here. Thank goodness. Ryan's got a few though I think!
Drive safe Sheree.
Bludgy day here today. So I guess I'll be on here rambling lots.
-
Kim: How is Darcy feeling? Was it a reaction from the mango? YAY for Darcy putting herself to sleep, even if it wasn't for long....Its a start. Enjoy your bludgy day ;)
Nat: Poor you!! What a terrible day you had yesterday...I hope today goes better for you. I love the new ticker!!
Sheree: Not sure what to do this arve.....I have to work tomorrow morning too apparently (stocktake!!) at 7.30am  Msg me later you might have a bit of time to spare hopefully! hehe
Shazz: WTG Ryan!! Pretty much the same as Jayden.
Sara: Congratulations on yours and Brent's jobs....Everything else will fall into place too....Try not to stress too much with the discharge, but I would get a scan just for peace of mind.
Alison: Cooper is gorgeous!!Can't wait to get to know you!! Cooper is a big boy, how long is he?
Angelique: Jayden's teeth are threatening to make an appearance everyday but none so far.
Well I ended up having yesterday off and I had a fantastic day!! I went out for lunch with niece, nephew and SIL(after she finished work) and shopped nearly all afternoon. Jayden has heaps of clothes now more than what he needs I'm sure but kmart had buy 1 get the 2nd 60% off so what was I supposed to do?? LOL....I also bought a tree skirt for the xmas tree which I will attempt to put up this weekend. Hopefully SIL turns up today so I can go to work.....Ooops she's here now haha
Have a good day girls!!
oxoxo
-
Tania, Cooper is 69.5cm. He is in the 75th percentile for weight, height and HC. His dad is tall though, he definitely hasnt got it from me. Glad you had a nice day off yesterday.
Kim enjoy your bludgy day today. I had one of those this week and it was great!!!
Angelique, no teeth here and it doesnt look close either. I've been using teething for an excuse for Cooper's afternoon grumpiness for ages now, but I was wrong.
Lea, woohoo about Robbie tickets. Tony and I are going on the 18th...cant wait!!!!
Have been to the dentist this morning and now we are off for some Christmass shopping. Might try and get the tree put up this afternoon before Tony goes to work tonight, it would nice to do together.
Have a nice day everyone, back later.
-
Ohhh Tania I got caught out at Kmart as well... I mean seriously when they have sales like that what are you meant to do LOL? :dunno: :D
-
Gees everytime you girls rave about how you bought heaps at a Kmart sale I go there....and I can't find anything I like. Our Kmart must just be rubbish.
-
Sheree - Archie is also on Losec and Mylanta before every sleep. I didn't bond with Archie until 3 months either and am just seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Archie was 'failing to thrive' so the health nurse encoraged me to statrt him on soids at 4 months, he is only eating really basic fruit and vegies cause i am scared that any thing else may upset his reflux, i need to do some research and find out which foods to asvoid. since he started solids he has stacked onm the weight! he is now 8.3 kgs and 69cm.
lachie is a very clever boy for waving, enjoy ur weekend away
shazz - YAY!! its so fantastic to see ur healthy little boy! im sorry feeding isn't working out, what a great job u have done getting this far u should be very proud.
Tannia - thanks for the goodluck on number two. yay jayden for sleeping through. hope you enjoyed ur therapy
neverplan = that is my theory too, surely my next one won't be as bad.....
sara - sending u tonnes of sticky vibes
Archie had a great day yesterday, went to mothers group for the first time and he sat all by himself the whole time with the other babies! he also had his first swim in the pool. moving back into our house tomorrow we are so excited!!!!

Hi girls...
I was at Kmart yesterday too... and most of our stuff is rubbish too... but I picked up a santa's helper outfit for Xmas day, and a little sleeping outfit.. and lots of singlets. Shame he'll only get to wear the santa outfit for ONE day!!! But there will be loads of photos taken... so I guess it's worth it. Actually... I might dress him in it and get his photo taken with Santa at the local shops...???
If anyone is looking for light-weight sleeping bags - BIG W have them... and less than $10 !! I bought one a while ago - and popped in yesterday and they had more in stock (only two styles... but who cares hey?).
I read your posts every day... but I am so busy/tired/sick to write posts... and take my hat off to you ladies who write personals. So please forgive me.
Having got over the gastro... I came down with a terrible cold which is on the improve now. Shaun has been very understanding!!
Shaun went to Maternal Health yesterday... and his weight has dropped from the 50th % down to the 25th %... but nurse said that is because of his gastro. (he actually lost weight whilst he was in sleep school). He's been eating like a little piggy so I was surprised he had only put on 275grams in a month. His length is on the 50th % - but he has a little tiny pin head - which has always been tiny!! At least he won't be called "boofhead" at school
Welcome to the new girls who have joined & returned!!
Congrats Lea on getting Robbie tickets. I think I saw him when he was in "take That"... god, I'm showing my age aren't I...??
I've not bought any christmas presents. Haven't put up any decorations or tree, and haven't sent any cards. But I got my first card today - so I better get organised. Poor shaun might miss Xmas altogether if mummy doesn't move her butt. It looks like my Dad might be in hospital on Xmas day :frown: after having an operation on his intestine... but we hope they might let him out on the day..
Ooohhh... Shaun has just woken up.... will keep an eye on you all.
-
Afternoon Ladies,
Just a quick hello. Bout to wander out into the yard for a while. Had a very busy day.
VERY quiet in here today....what going on!!
BBL
-
hey sara how are you feeling ??
-
Hey Shazz,
Yeh sorry girls! I shoulda said something. Yeh no discharge today. Still some cramping but nothing like yesterday. Other than a headache i am fine. So looks like things are looking up. Can't wait too go for the blood test on Moday. Who woulda thought i'd be so excited about someone jabbing a needle into me arm!!
-
Sara you need to work out for me when you fell pregnant. I want my next bub to be either march or august (can't decide yet) and since I have to take blood thinners for three months prior to falling it has to be finely planned.
I'm sorry about today. i didn't even realise I was signed on. Darcy hasn't been sleeping great during the day due to the heat (42 today) and her cold so I thought we'd have a 20 minute nap before we had to go out for 5pm.....we slept for an hour and a half under the ac!
I got absolutely nothing done today....oh yes I did, mum came and picked up some stuff of Darcy's that I need to store. I didn't have to do anything to get that done though. LOL
We're even having pizza for dinner.
-
Evening ladies,
Kim - We dtd around the 6-7th of November. So if you do it a little after then you should have a August baby. Good luck!! No worries bout this arvo....
Anyways girls IL are staying tonight and they are bout to go to bed so no time personals tonight. Will tomorrow.
Hope you are all well...
Ni night.
