Gees quiet in here today.....
Will anybody be around this weekend, or am I the only one with no life (well I have a life as long as it's not a public holiday)?
Def not pregnant. Bit of a shame, so we'll jst have to keep trying. Hey Shazz you've charted haven't you? Will it matter if I chart with no AF as a base? Will I see a trend? What do I look for?
Does anyone else's house look like a moving truck exploded in it? Cam decided to put the tent an tunnel we had bought for Darcy's b'day up last night...we live in a townhouse! yes it's a reasonable size but.....I just can't seem to get on top of anything.

Heya Girls!
I’m officially on uni break for 3 weeks – yahoo!!! It feels great! Though I have already written out a list of things that I need to get done lol!!! Not too much homework thank god but I do need to clean the garage out because soon I won’t be able to fit my car in there lol!!!
I had a great day today. We both slept in and then I dropped Em off to CC. I did all the washing and cleaned the house. I then made dinner and a chocolate cheesecake as well. I organized my uni stuff and wrote out my lists (I love lists lol) and started working on my finances and stuff. Misjudged time though because I have to leave for work in 10 minutes!! So I’m just gonna type hard and fast and will just have to stop when I have to leave lol. So sorry if I miss people!
Kim ~ I just got in a Beaut Bot AIO today which I can’t wait to try! Bummer about the bfn!!!
Leanne ~ The butterfly cake sounds gorgeous!!! Glad to hear the cold has died down a bit. That new pic of Katy is just gorgoues!!!
Christine ~ I hope you are doing well. The Easter parade and performance sound like fun!
Tania ~ I got your email hun and I will reply when I get half a chance! Maybe tomorrow?
Sara ~ Grrr to Brent!! At least the IL’s will be there to help you out soon! The 9000 words was for a journal with 6 weeks of lecture notes, online lecture notes and art ed answers in it. I love reading books like that as well!
We’ve had a few big moments in the past few days! The first is that Em had his first hair cut!!! He looks so much more grown up!! And he was so well behaved for it as well! The second is that we got his first artwork from CC. It doesn’t sound like much but I was so proud and I can’t wait to scrapbook it!!! I actually got a bit teary when I saw it lol!!
Alright that is all I have time for. I’m so sorry to those I’ve missed. I’ll probably be back in tomorrow lol!

Hi girls,
things are gradually improving around here although DH has gone out with his mate from work and heaven knows when he will be home, the mate is fairly into illegal substances so i get a bit stressed.
Easter Hat parade went well, all the teachers wore fluffy bunny ears which the kids loved. My classes play went well too and Erin was brilliant in hers (no bias!) Holidays now!!! Erin is staying up to celebrate! Riley had a really late nap so he is up too, although he is whinging at my feet.
Nat- well done on the assignment, what grade is your prac on? Please email me if you need any help at all.
Got to go Riley's screaming has reached a new high LOL

Leanne: That’s funny I have never seen my job description either but apparently its picking up after old lazy technicians LOL I feel like telling him to get over himself…..of course he was at it again today but luckily he was out most of the day. This must be the age for bumps and bruises to start, Jayden hasn’t been too bad yet but he is on the move well and truly now so I’ll have a little abused looking child soon too. Love the new pic of Kaitlyn she is so cute!!
Vic: Oh no….you could go back on the threads and see when he did all his firsts if you wanted to or just guess..(no one will know ;)) What an expensive day you had!! Least the car is fixed I guess. I don’t think I have spent more than $150 on groceries but then that was when it was just Chris and I.
Kim: Yeh as much as I give Chris a hard time I must admit he has his good moments……tonight however is not one of them LOL He is at a mates place watching footy, he couldn’t help me with the shopping cause he had to get there at 7pm it is now after midnight and the footy should be over and he still isn’t home, it wouldn’t normally worry me but the person who he is into illegal things too (I know how you feel Christine!!). Oh Kim you shouldn’t be putting yourself in situations!! But then again if you want a job done……. My house looks like a moving truck exploded, but I had it spotless the other day. I’ll probably be in and out all weekend cause of this stupid camping thing we’re doing LOL. I keep meaning to mention how cute Darcy is! I love that pic of her!!
Sara: Have a good time camping!!!
Nat: Yay for your break!! Its never long enough though. Make sure you take some time out for yourself and relax before the new semester. Email back when you can no hurry , I know your busy but make sure you send some pics of Em’s new hair do with it ;) I got Jayden’s 1st painting a while ago but its still on the fridge (although I had to move it to the side where Jayden can’t get it hehe) It made me cry too!! He had made an easter basket (well he painted on the foil and SIL wrapped it around a paper basket). That’s one thing I love about day care, that they do arts n craft I don’t think we would if I was at home with him (not yet anyway).
Christine: I hope things get better between you and Daniel, it doesn’t help when they are out with someone you don’t trust. Chris is with someone like that tonight and although they are nice ppl I don’t agree with their lifestyle. I was at their house one night with Jayden and they were doing “illegal things” in the house with Jayden and I right next to them…..I was furious and stormed out and haven’t been back……Jayden would have been about 6mths old at the time. That’s great the the parade and the play went well…..I hope your 2 are fast asleep for you by now! I love your new ticker too Riley is such a cutey!! Everyone has such good tickers now!! We have the cutest babies here for sure!!
Well I started typing this hours ago but my mum rang and I was on the phone for 144mins!!! So that along with 2 Guava Vodka Cruisers and a Midori Splice later I get to finish this (again) massive post!! This whole camping thing is going ahead, I told Chris I would only go if he bought Jayden an Elmo sleeping bag……We’ll he bought it so I guess I have to hold up my side of the bargin. We will be going snorkeling tomorrow and maybe Saturday too so I know I will enjoy that….we went a few weeks ago but before that I was 29wks PG so I am enjoying it much more now that I can get to the bottom without being held there haha. Oh I had my eyes checked today and I need glasses!! I have known for a while I need them but keep putting them off so now I have finally done it and have glasses on order, OMG I didn’t realize how expensive they were!! $413 and that was with a discount!!
Well better go the Midori Slice is getting to me hahaha this post probably doesn’t make sense LOL
Nighty night

Cleaning fairies!?!? I wish they had come here this afternoon!! My place was trashed from kids lol!!! I am so tired right now. Its that time of day – I need a nanna nap lol!
Vic ~ That story was sooo cute and hilarious!!! Glad he was okay though! PMSL @ you forgetting to write anything in Adams baby book!!! I have set myself a terrible standard with this scrapbooking stuff. I’ve told myself no more kids till I’m up to date with Em! And then I’ll go nuts trying to make sure #2 has the same amount of scrap booking as Em lol! OMG @ how much your car cost to fix!!! Ouch!
Christine ~ I am jealous of your cleaning fairy lol! I have no idea what grade my prac is on yet lol. I suppose I will find out in the lecture we have the week prior to starting. Glad to hear the parade went well!
Tania ~ I will probably drive down the road as well! WOW Jayden weighs more then Em now!!! Ouch at him hitting his head – I can understand why she panicked lol. I can watch Em hit his head and know his fine – but any other kids and I’m calling for their mums lol! I am glad I’m not the only one that got teary over the first piece of art work lol! I have photos to share and will email them to you lol! 144 mins on the phone to your mum lol – you sound like me and my mum!! Have you heard from Sheree at all lately?
Kim ~ I hope you are feeling better soon. That kidney pain sounds horrible! I hope you got some sleep!
Sara ~ How much has Ms Briley grown!! Look at her in that photo *awwww*. Enjoy camping! It will be quiet in here without you!
Leanne ~ Glad to hear that flu is almost gone!
I am just waiting for friends to come over and Em is asleep. So I can’t really start anything but there’s nothing on TV to waste time watching either. I think I may have to go and do those dishes damn it lol!
I am pretty good at budgeting but I find that I end up spending a lot of my extra cash and I have no idea where its going so I have started tracking all the money using this really cool spreadsheet. Now I realize that I have spent over $30 on takeaway this month alone… yep and its only been 6 days!! I will have to work on that one I think!!!

Hi there.
Any one watch a today tonight tonight and see the thing on smacking your kids.
What are your thoughts?

Evening All!
Nat while you're at it can you shoot one to me too? Enjoy your break hon, don't 'do' too much.
Thanks Shazz. I will start I think.
Well I have one sick little chixk here. She never is unwell so doesn't cope with it all that great. I think it's just allergies, cos her snot's clear, but her eyes are so swollen they're almost shut lol. Not a great look when you rub slime all over your face. I had less than 2hrs sleep last night. My eyes are hanging out. Tonight's not looking too hot either, but it doesn't seem so bad cos I know she's unwell.
I wasn't going to buy any choccie for Darcy this weekend, but I felt bad when I was buying some for Cam, and so I caved. Unfortunatley for us Cam's on 6am-6.30pm and I'm on 6.30pm - 7am, so one of us will miss out.
Cam is refusing to ring his parents this weekend and so I know that'll go down a treat - not!
Just musing here....the other day I went to my friend's house. She has a baby 4 months younger than Darc. He had so many toys, so many that there are some in the spare room that she hasn't brought out yet cos there's not enough room. Heaps of big toys, big brand toys, a bookshelf full of books. I felt kinda like a bad mum. Darcy has toys, not heaps though. We didn't go stupid at Christmas cos she was too little. Lots of her toys are my nephew's old toys, and they're simple little toys. She has an old purse with old cards of mine that she spends ages with, empty boxes, kitchen stuff, my cosmetics trolley that she empties and refill over and over, but not lots of thos big learning toys and books. I try to read to her, but she's worse than a botfly and won't sit still. Yet she's active and confident and says HEAPS. She likes to collect the leaves outside and touch the bird aviary. She liek to play with an old mirror and simple stuff like climbing etc, yet my friend's little boy doesn't do any of those things that Darcy did at his age. I don't want her to not have those learning things, but we can't really afford lots of stuff either. Mum says I'm being silly, but I've been scouring for books and things for her birthday.
ETA We don't smack here. I don't know whatwe are going to do, but I'll deal with that when she understands. It's not cos I want to 'gently parent' but becasue Cam was hit in anger as a child and with stuff. I don't want to leave any room for accidents, you know what kind of a unit my Dh is Leanne. And I don't want in any uncertain terms his family to think they can discipline my child their way.
ETA again. And you all know my line of work.....

Okay, another question here.
How do I know the difference between conjustivitis and a blocked tear duct? Kaitlyn's had a blocked tear duct in the past, but now that she's at CC how can I be sure that it's not something contagious?
I guess I should take her to the doc. Just answered my own question.
Der....
My flu seems gone except my cough is so bad it made me throw up today. Any ideas?
Probably should get the doc to look at me when I take KAty.
Der again.
We're not into smacking here but we're not not into it either. Just believe in good discipline. Kaitlyn knows my tone now when she is doing something she's not really supposed to and today she actually sat down in the bath when I said "Kaitlyn, sit down you might slip and fall". I was so excited about that.
And about toys. Kaitlyn does not have a heap of toys. Her favourites are some clothes pegs and an old tissue box. Puts them in and then takes them out. If you happen to peg some pegs on her or on the box she thinks it's Christmas!!!
Not sure what to buy her for her birthday. Maybe some track suits for school cause that's all she really needs.

i didn't get to see the show unfortunately ....smacking it's a weird subject my middle boy when asked what punishment will fit his crimes his first answer is a smack and this is from a kid that has been smacked only a handful of times and more so not from anger but from fear eg when he ran into traffic my first instinct was cuddle kiss and hug him but instead he coped a smack from my fear and then he got the cuddles etc all in under 30 sec ( that probably doesn't make sense to any one but me ) it just all happened so quick and lets put it this way he never ever has done anything like that again ... but over all i try my very hardest not to smack and if i do it is a slight tap on the butt not like when we were kids oh the mighty belt but i can say i feared the belt... not my parents... so i tried my hardest not to get into trouble nite everyone enough dribble from me
HAPPY EASTER

Hmmmm smacking... such a controversial topic isn't it? I didn't watch it at all and I don't know how I feel about the topic to be honest. Right now there is no place for smacking with Em. He doesn't understand and we have a process that works fine for us most of the time. If he's playing with something he's not meant to he may get a tap on the hand by my finger though - is that classified as a smack?? I try not to judge what I'll do as a parent in the future. Its too hard.
I think its the same with all different parts of parenting. For example when it comes to controlled crying. I never had to use it because Em slept well. I have no idea what its like to have a baby that doesn't sleep well so I would never take it upon myself to judge a parent who after sleep difficulties with their child used CC. Am I making sense here?
In saying that I would never use the belt or anything like that. Like Shazz just a tap on the bum. I think the downfall with smacking is that from the parents side it is often done out of frustration or anger which I don't think is good. Yet on the flipside my Mum never smacked us - just threatened us with the wooden spoon lol ;) but my dad would give us a smart tap to the thigh. My Dad got a lot more respect growing up from my brother and I then my mum ever did... so who knows. Can you tell I'm undecided? I think I'll stop rambling on about it now.
Now for toys... I don't think we have that many. I could list the amount of big ones we have (Walker, trike, play table, treehouse, music centre) and then a few other things (learning puppy, phone, bug thing, shape sorter, train, blocks). But besides the big stuff it all fits into 3 10L storage containers.
Things Em loves that aren't 'toys' as such - the coasters, plastic container cupboard, wooden spoon, my glass cleaner cloth lol, an old mobile, an old purse with old cards... he plays with this stuff just as much as his actual toys.
For his birthday I thought long and hard about what sort of toys I wanted him to have. I bought him some proper baby musical instruments (Kellee would love that lol), an old fashioned wooden toy, a talking Pooh (ok not much thought there I just wanted to hear Pooh say Emerson lol), a thomas the tank that plays music (because my brother had the exact one when we were little lol) and some stacking rings. And then some DVD's (cause they were cheap lol) and clothes (because they were cute, on sale and he needs them)!!! I'm not sure if that is a lot or not much but its what he's getting.
You certainly aren't a bad mum Kim - spending money on toys doesn't value that at all!!! And like you pointed out Darcy was more advanced with different things at his age anyway. All babies are different and besides all the 'brand' name toys as such are a whole lot of hype. Em played with some of the stuff he got for a week before getting bored with it. Yes he still plays with it but there's no challenge in it. Oooookkaaay enough about toys... boy am I rabbitting on tonight lol!
Vic & Kim I have forwarded you the link for that spreadsheet. I hope it doesn't scare you both too much!
Kim ~Poor little Darcy! I hope she's feeling better soon!
Leanne ~ They're not silly qst's at all! Going to the Dr is probably the best beat though! Have you had any cough medicine at all? I think the weepy stuff would be a different colour if it was conjunc - maybe more green?? I'm not sure though.
I have Prison Break on DVD and I'm going to watch that now! Have a nice night folks and I hope my rambling hasn't offended anyone

I broke free from camping!!!! Only for a little while though. I came home for a shower cause I'm not showering in those shower blocks!! Plus I have to go shopping haha.
On the smacking subject, I don't want to smack Jayden but who knows what will happen when he is older, it definitley won't be my intension to smack him. Shazz I totally understand where your coming from with smacking from fear rather than anger. Chris has smacked Jayden a few times but not hard of course, even so he gets into big trouble with me if I see him as I don't want to start Jayden's disipline with smacking when tone of voice might be just as effective.
Jayden has quite a few toys lots of little ones and a few big ones, in the big ones he has a musical tunnel, wiggles car, 4 wheel motorised car, soccer goals and he has an activity table but I have the top off and in his cot. The little ones he has pull-along toys, little people fire engine, a car from the movie Cars, farm animals, learning puppy, toy mobile phone aswell as real mobile.....yeh he has too many things haha.
Well I better have a shower and get to the shops, I left Jayden camping he seems to enjoy it and slept through the night in the tent with his new sleeping bag. He is getting so dirty crawling around on the ground though and eating the dirt hehe
Have a Happy Easter everyone!!!!
Personals when we get home ( I think we are staying another nigh)

Wow, heaps to answer today.
Leanne- conjunctivitis would be gummy and when she wakes up her eyelids may be glued shut, this is hghly contagious and would be likely to have been caught at CC, Riley has had it already just wipe their eyes from inside edge to out with a cotton ball soaked in water. i managed to clear Riley's up without using eye ointment but you may need to get some if its really bad.
Vic- Loved the sheep story, don't feel bad about Adam's baby book Riley doesn't even have one LOL I have scrapbooked Erin until about 10 months too, all my grand plans for beinmg organised with Riley have gone out the window.
Kim- toys- do not stress, kids with too many toys like that don't develop their imagination and creativity and its actually harming them NOT helping them (this is my teacher opinion) Riley has a basket of toys, some of which are from friends and he still prefers pieces of paper and other people's stuff not the expensive toys most of the time. He really loves a water bottle half filled with rice and taped shut which he can rattle.
Smacking- yes I have smacked both Jess and Erin but prob a few times a year if that and always just with my hand never a wooden spoon or anything (mum and dad hit us a fair bit and usually with something) little tip- when they know you are about to smack they sometimes put their arm round quickly so you hit their wrist with yours and it hurts!!(you I mean! Jess used to do it and it p#ssed me off heaps LOL) I also have never smacked the arms or face always bottom or thigh. I agree with Shazz, I have smacked in a panic then regretted it too.
Major house cleaning today, the place is a tip and PIL are coming tonight (mil will help if its not finished I just feel slack) Got to get to the shops to purchase the Easter bunny's eggs cause every time I have been at the shops Erin has been with me.
I left out Easter eggs for my class in the baskets they had made on Wednesday and they were so excited, sometimes the little ones are cute LOL
-
Nat where'd you get the instruments? I've been looking everywhere for some. Got he spreadsheet thanks. Haven't had a look yet.
Ha Christine, that's so sweet I bet your class loved it! I love that pic of Riley. Doesn't he look grown up? It's good to go shopping with little people when they have no clue. I'm so glad at 7 Erin still 'believes'. Tell her we hope the Easter Bunny's good. Did the vallergan work by the way?
Oh Leanne. GOTOTHEDOCTOR!!!! My brother used to get conjunctivitis ALL the time and my mum swore by golden eye ointment, but I think you can get it in drops now so it's easier. It's exactly how Christine said.
Tania, Darcy loves dirt too. Not grass, just dirt and leaves. Hope he has a lovely time and you enjoy your shower.
I hope I didn't offend anyone with my smacking comments. I'm not fussed what other people's choices are. I'm just making mine for Darcy ATM.
Thanks for the support about the toys. You know when you just have one of those 'am I doing OK?' moments?
-
no offence here Kim and your doing a Fab job
Christine ~ wow i can't beleive how grown up Riley looks now what a cutey ....
-
Well got some drops and saline solution for Katy's eye issue and antibiotics for my 'Upper respiratory tract infection', so the fridge is once again laden with drugs!!!! Always on a weekend or 'holidays'.,..... Dr said should be cleared up enough for Katy to go to schoool on Tues.
Happy Easter Everyone.
BBL - Katy's asleep so thinking I might catch up on some IRONINg.... ugh.
-
ugh, my LIs are here and as normal, they have NOTHING to say...they are so boring, but as per usual they are here on my insistence so no more trouble starts....why am I so dumb???
-
I'm hiding.....they're still here....
Tehehe Darcy's still got a snotty nose and can't breath to feed so I've been giving her Demazin. Now when I get the bottle out and the dropper, she says, "yuk!!".
