Babies Born May 2006 #27

Christine... I give 5ml. It's basically the minimum dose, and did the trick. I've tried Shaun on 3-4ml and it didn't do much.
Shaun is finally sleeping through the night, by himself. He stirs and wimpers, but then resettles himself most of the time. The last few nights he wakes up at midnight and I go in and give him a cuddle. There is a sofa bed in his room, so I lie on that with him, and he just cuddles up and goes straight back to sleep. I love those moments with him.

At the moment he's in his room playing. And he is making SO MUCH NOISE. He's chatting and chatting and chatting!!! I'm sure he's doing laps too, because I hear a lot of movement. He's woken up very happy today.

Sara - STOP TIDYING THE HOUSE. Brent is there. You have to REST. For the REST of your pregnancy.

Does any one else have a love for kids pyjamas? I just took Cooper to
BigW and bought him 6 more sets of flanalette pjs. I just love seeing babies and kids in pyjamas and slippers...makes me melt. I spent a fortune in BigW just buying pjs, singlets, bodysuits and socks...everything for Cooper, nothing for me as usual.

He still has his cold but I think he is at the end of it now. He has been asleep for 2.5 hours and its 3:30pm and he hasnt had any lunch yet. It will be a late dinner now, bugger!

Anyway, have heaps to do so will come back later tonight.

Sara ~ So glad to hear your home and well. Sit back and let Brent take care of everything! Also put in an order for foot and back massages as well LOL. He needs to take care of you while you are here!

Christine ~ pmsl @ being inspired and then eating chocolate. TV shows and super stars make losing weight seem so easy but it never is. That’s cheeky if he put on heaps of weight to get into the show though. Whoo hoo for Rileys’ second tooth! I hope the Valergan works for you and Riley starts to settle.

Alison ~ I LOVE the PJ’s lol but I don’t have 6 sets hehe! I had a cute Thomas the Tank set which he grew out of. And right now we have 2 sets from Hong Kong and a few summer sets. I want to get the Bonds set and some others as well. I think I’m going to have a slipper and hat fetish though. I already have a cute pair of fluffy ugg boots for him and I’ve seen so many winter hats that I want to get. Now that is pouring down with rain here I feel justified in buying some!!

Tania ~ YAY for getting your early night finally!!! I can’t believe 12 months has almost past either… its so scary!

Kim ~ I’m glad Darcy loves her! I’m sure Em will as well. I want to steal it away from my mums house now and give it to him hehe! I’m sure I can wait an extra few weeks though!

Haha at the tooth fairy talk! My mum still has our teeth as well except she mixed them all up and has no idea which tooth belongs to which child LOL. I think its gross hehe but you watch I’ll probably keep Em’s! Em’s not into the fruit bars yet – I’ve tried but they’re too hard for him and he’s not interested.

I worked today and then had dinner at mums. Just catching up on some posts and then I have a text book to read – oh so exciting LOL. I just bought another nappy for Em – a Baby Beehinds one for night use as the Peapods we’re using currently don’t quite hold enough and he wakes up wet. My bags used to be safe on the floor if they were zipped but now he’s worked out how to unzip things grrr!!! Not much else happening here – back to uni next week and my prac teaching starts on Thursday!!! I haven’t got back the photo’s from the photo shoot yet but when I do I’ll email you all a few so you can have a look!

I smell a bad nappy so I think that’s my cue to leave hehe!Hope you're all having a great night.

Christine: That girls mum obviously didn’t realize how contagious they are (or just very irresponsible). Aww poor pup getting ringworm from the kids haha. I hope you were able to get the Valergan and it works for you! I feel bad if I whinge about Jayden not sleeping for 1 night or a few nights when I know there are a few babies that don’t sleep every night!! I don’t know how you do it and work as well! Did you have any sleep trouble with the girls? Is Erin a good sleeper now? My Nephew is 7 (nearly 8) and he has only just started sleeping all night in his bed.

Jodie: Don’t you love it when they wake up happy? Jayden has been waking up happy but it doesn’t take him long lately to get into a foul mood (teething I know).

Alison: I have a PJ fetish too, Jayden has heaps of Pj’s from BigW. They seem to have the best range in smaller sizes. What a great sleep Cooper had!! I hope he gets better soon!

Nat: Hope you’re having fun reading that text book!! Hehe. Oh no @ Em knowing how to unzip!! I don’t think Jayden knows how to do that yet…..but he is forever packing and unpacking his nappy bag!! Enjoy your last weekend before Uni starts again……Rest up!! I can’t wait to see the photos!!

I can’t believe that just on Wed/Thurs although Jayden could take quite a few steps in a row he was still preferring to crawl and by Friday he was walking around everywhere on his own accord & standing up again when he fell down, I know it has to happen some time but it was only about 2 weeks ago he took his very 1st step!!

Chris just drove around to his mates place to see if they were home, then drove back to tell me he is going around there and rode his bike back up there (so he can drink). I asked him why they couldn’t come to our house cause I always get stuck at home on my own lately, Jayden is asleep so I can’t go anywhere. I have housework to do anyway, I have had visitors (SIL’s) all afternoon and night so nothing got done today besides the towels and the dishes.

OMG I have just written this massive reply and managed to lose it. I am too cranky to do it again now BBL.

Woops, don't know if that makes me a slack mum, but Darcy doesn't have one pair of 'pyjamas' as such. She just sleeps in wondersuits....maybe I should get her some....

Have you seen the new "Dress me Elmo" He talks when they do the zips, buttons etc. I want one for Darcy but DH says we already have enough talking toys.....:P

That's tops about Jaydens walking Tania! Darcy still prefers to crawl, but every now and then i catch a glimpse as she's playing by herself and she's toddling around.

Well what a week..... so so busy at work its not funny and for the last day or so I have had my 12 year old second cousin here while the relo's all went to a wedding up the coast. I must say though that having her here was fabbo cause she was so into Kaitlyn that I only had to change her nappies pretty much. What a welcome change! Made me think of having another for a little bit.

Sara, so glad to hear that you are home. Bubba stay in there and cook cook cook for a bit longer. Sara make sure you look after yourself okay. I've got something for you Sara, can you email me your home addy?

Kim - are you able to go to the antenatal birthday thing with the girls? I can't cause I am having the 9th off for Katy's big day. When are we able to catch up? Seems like yonkies since I have seen you. Might pop in the afternoon of Saturday the 12th if you are not doing anything. Kaitlyn gets her 12 month needles that morning, will have to play her mood by ear.

Hi girls,

Not feeling to crash hot today. Had a MAJOR fight with Brent and 2 of his friends (1 a mother of 3), all drunk, at 2.00am thismorning. I was friends with them to until now. My life is a never ending drama. I am not going to even try and explain what happened. I am very upset though. I am here on my own while Brent has left us to go fishing. Nice of him!

I am getting a few bad cramps but i think this is only cause of what is going on. I am trying so hard to just relax and not stress myself out too much but its proving difficult. Other than that i am ok. Baby is still moving around plenty.

Briley is good. Besides being woken up a million and one times in all the commotion lastnight. She has been down for a sleep since 10.30am so she will be ok when she wakes up. I think some more teeth might be on the way. She is doing lots of runny poo's lately. Other than that, she too is ok.

Again i am not up for personals. Sorry. I am going to have a lie down on the couch and watch a movie till Briley wakes up i think.

I just ordered a Baby Beehind and next on my list is a Haute Pocket and a BP LOL. Can you tell I’m an addict hehe? I do want to get a few AIO’s though as they’re great for MCN virgins to use hehe.

I’ve just got a load of washing on and I need to do the dishes then I’m studying and maybe scrap booking LOL. I can’t believe I’m back at uni this week and 3 weeks has past! Its gone so fast and I didn’t get as much done as I wanted to!!!! Oh well…

I worked all day today and our store manager was in. He asked if I would consider going full time and being second in charge of service there LOL. I definitely don’t want or need to work full time right now but it was nice to be considered. I better get a move on and do those dishes unfortunately!

I am ok today. Brent and I are on speaking terms but i am still quite upset and confused about what happened the other night. I really dont know what too do. He says he does'nt remember anything of what happened. So that gives you an idea of just how drunk he was. Anyways.

So today he is working around the yard as it is way overdue for a mowing and slashing. He has also just put on a lamb stew in the slow cooker for dinner so that will be nice.

I plan to just potter around the house getting a few small things like washing and stuff done. Nothing to strenuous(sp??).

Briley is just crawling around the house pulling anything and everything down out of cuboards and duchessess that she can reach. We had another Sudocreme incident yesterday. She reached up and got it down for her duchess. I could'nt believe it. Then lastnight she was reaching up and trying to pull down a cutting board of the bench in the kitchen. Little rat bag!!

Anyways, better go and see what she is up too!

Remember how you were talking about leaving a friends house feeling as though you didn't have enough toys for Darcy... well now I know how that feels like. I was at someones house the other day and it was literally like a toy shop... I couldn't work out whether it was excessive or great LOL.

I have a shocker of a headache - bet it's cos I'm not allowed anymore choccie! Off to bed while the going's good cos I'm not going to get a sleep before work tomorrow.

I am hanging for some chocolate... mmmm chocolate pudding. There's a box in the cupboard - do I make some???

Kim if you google them you should get the sites easily enough. Let me know if you have trouble though and I'll help. Currently my favourite is the Wonderoo's. I use them with a bamboo insert and a booster for overnight. I have just ordered the Baby Beehind for overnight use though and I've heard nothing but fantastic things about them so I'm excited about that. I like the Beaut Bots for simplicity as they're a cute AIO. I did like the Peapods but they're definitely not my favourite anymore.

Leanne I spend about $140 a fortnight on groceries and then probably another $20 a week on top up stuff or specials. I find that meal planning helps heaps and also making sure that I have enough snack food to snack on and not be tempted to go to the shops. I try and limit top up shops because I tend to spend more doing that.

Still struggling to get Em to sleep *sigh* he's been fighting it for over an hour now. I better go and get him again!

Leanne, our grocery budget is always shot to pieces cause I pop into woolies to get bread and end up spending $25 on stuff we really don't need (icecreams, chocolate etc)

We usually budget $100.00 per week (which includes Katy's napies and formula) but we too buy those little extras when we need to get the 'essential top ups'.
I think I am going to have to start preparing meals on the weekends and freezing them.

Well I am at work just popping in before I start another big day. I have been coming home with headaches alot lately. There's just so much on and I don't feel like I am coping too well.
I am supposed to be weaning myself off the antidepressants in the next month or so but I am really starting to get anxious about how I am in fact going to cope when I come off them. Do you think its bad if I stay on them?

No Leanne it's not bad if you want to stay on them. Don't worry so much about it though (easier said than done) you need to do what's best for you.

Leanne- I think its very early to try and come offf them, I have been on them for years now and the doctor says its fine, whatever you need to get you through I think.

Kim- police question hope you don't mind. this morning on her way to school my friend's daughter was hit by a guy turning right in front of her, he drove off without stopping- her car is damaged, they got his plates but the police at pennant Hills weren't interested. What can she do??????
BBL should do some school work, Vic I know what you mean about staying home full time, I actually enjoy a bit of work (2 days would be perfect LOL but 3 is OK mostly)

That's what we class as a major prang Christine - she should go to another police station and make a complaint - shame she can't get to where I am or I'd deal with it for her. She's not at fault and she needs it investigated for her insurance - gees some cops give us all a bad rep :angry:

Tania, I don't think they can, certainly not in the child's name anyway. When i have opened accts. for my kids I had to show a birth certificate I'm sure. Who is it opening it? I am not sure how I would feel if it was anyone other than grandparents although I would like some really rich person to I guess LOL

I’ve had an alright day. Went for coffee with friends and then came straight home and did the housework and then spent the rest of the afternoon studying. Got what I wanted done which is good. Em didn’t go to sleep till midnight last night. Hopefully tonight is better. Though I have handballed him to his Dad for the night LOL.

Tania ~ Hmm I’m not sure. You definitely have to have the birth certificate to actually set up an account in a child’s name. If my mum or dad or IL’s said they’d been putting aside money for Em I probably wouldn’t be overly fussed TBH. If they tried to open an account for him that they want control over then I’d be a bit peeved.

Leanne ~ $100 a week is really good. That is what I spend roughly and it is only Em and I and I get really cheap formula! As for the antidepressants I have no experience in this area but surely coming off them too early can be damaging. If you feel you can’t cope then there is no need to look at stopping just yet. Have you spoken to your Dr about it?

I'll come back for personals, just wanted to explain the bank acc thing.

I picked Jayden up from FDC last night and SIL#3 was there visiting. She said she doesn't want to buy Jayden a present for his bday as he will get million things already that he doesn't need (fair enough). She asked if I had a bank acc for him and I said no I haven't had a chance to open one etc, but I do have a sub acc within my acc that I put money in which is to go in his acc once I open one. She took it open herself to go to some Bank and ask what she can do. They told her she can open the acc (with his birth cert) and she can be the controller of that acc for him until he's 18 or 21, so she goes on about how so many people can put money in this account and others can give him presents (like a rotating roster) and I can present the account to him when he is 18 or 21!! Umm........Thanks for planning his life for me!!! I don't mind her giving money instead of presents but its not her child to plan and have control over his money! She doesn't want to give the money to me as its not my money! So yeah thats it and I am more and more peeved about it the more I think about it. Well at least she doesn't know where his birth cert is haha.

Gee I'd be p#ssed off at that Tania, I sometimes spend money the kids have got for their b'days (when they were younger) on clothes or things that they needed not just toys. I would open an acct. yourself and say that YOU will put money in it and control it. In NSW the c'wealth bank has kids accts that they can bring to school once a week and bank through the school (not sure if you have it there) I don't like the bank but it is an easy way to save .

Tania I would certainly be miffed at that proposal. The only person that should be in control of your son's account is you!!! Oh and Chris pmsl. I think your SIL is quite rude actually.

Birthday money we were given we generally had to split and bank half and we got to spend half. We also had the Dollar savings thingo. Mind you we must not have managed it all that well because by the the time I was 15 I still had less then $200 :rolleyes:

I've set up an account for Emerson and it has over $500 in it already :dance: I just put a small amount of money away each week. I've just started putting more away in there as well to help with his education fees when he starts school.

I have night uni tonight which is a double as its our first day back. I have to run to the shops today to get a few things as well. I'm organizing some games for a friends baby shower on Saturday which should be fun.

I bought heaps of cloths for Emerson for his birthday and I only have 2 items left to actually wrap LOL :rolleyes: Cause I keep dressing him in them because they're so cute I can't resist!!!

I got back a few photos from the photo shoot and one is in my ticker. Does anyone have a Flickr account? I have loaded 2 photos on there that I have got back so far but you have to be a member to see them.

Em's pants don't fit so well today as he's wearing a cloth nappy. So they only come up 3/4 way up the cloth nappy so he looks quite funny hehe.

Hi girls!

Just letting you all know i am ok. Brents parents arrived on monday night and are staying in the computer room! This means i can't get on it when i want.

I am having major drama's with them moving in now. They were'nt meant too be staying in the house as they were meant too bring up a caravan and now they are staying in the house!! Argghhhhhhhhh.

Brent has left today to go back to work and i am here alone with them! HELP ME!!! I cried when he left thismorning for the first time since he's been flying out. I dont know wether i was crying cause i was being left with them or because i was intending on moving out while he was gone or because i did'nt want him to leave me. Or it might have been a mixture of all of them. I told him thismorning i was moving out and when i dropped him out he said "Look after yourself and don't do anything silly."

So yeah things are not looking too good at the moment. I am starting to feel really depressed. I feel more alone with them here than i do when i am really on my own. Silly i know!

Anyways girls, i have been so slack with personals lately. Its very selfish of me to come on here and talk all about myself and not do any peronals. I have so much going on in my life at the moment. Its so hard to keep up. I really am sorry!

Don't know when i will be on next cause they keep the door closed like they don't want me in here so yeah. I am only in here now cause they have gone into town. Might have to move the computer out i think. God knows where i'll put it!

Secondly Tania - She'd have to actually get access to his birth cert to open the account - you don't have to give her access to it. It is rude. What if (and no I am just surmising it could happen to us all) you guys broke up and his sister had access to your sons money - nope bad idea. The Dragon has nearly $2000 and there's no way my ILs are ever having access to it let alone controlling it!

Oh Sara... you're really having a rough time - and having the IL's in your house!! I'ld be packing my bags pronto! Brent's comment was a bit rude too. You know where I am if I can do anything...

Tania... I wouldn't mind people giving Shaun money - but there is no way I would want anyone else controlling his funds for 18 years! Bugger that!! As Christine suggested, I would open an account yourself - and tell your SIL she can deposit directly into that if she wants to give money. It's not her place to be controlling your childs money. I opened an account for Shaun when he was born (CBA dollarmites). It pays interest, yet has no fees and he can use it at school when he's older. I also want to teach him to save his pocket money - when he's old enough to earn some! Also, he has already earnt $85 from modelling (not that he did anything!) - so they pay by cheque made out to his name and it has to go into his account - to avoid any taxes. I guess you will have to open an account one day for Jayden - and YOU should be the one in control of it!!

Lea... I have a flickr account. Actually - I have four of them!!! I updated a few more photos of shaun last night. That photo of Em looks cute!

I am STILL waiting for word from the bank about how much they will loan us. God they are pathetic! He originally said he would get back to me last FRIDAY. I've phoned him every day, and now he says it 'should' be tomorrow. We have seen an absolutely beautiful house, in a nice area, that has 4 bedrooms & a study/office - 3 car garage - a swimming pool - & 3 living areas. And it's all completely renovated so nothing would need to be done. Apart from Yariv wiring it up to become a 'smart house'. He is so keen to do that! It's an auction - starting price $520,000+ - which would probably go to $600k++. So not sure if we'll get that much from bank. wait and see....

I went to ob today, and all is good. I had a quick ultrasound and No2 had a good strong heartbeat. My calcs were be due 5th Dec, his rough calc (by length) was 7th Dec - but I've decided to have elective c/s - so it will be late November. Shaun will be exactly 18 months old. Doc said "you didn't waste any time"... and I said "you gave me two good ovaries now!" I have the down syndrome u/s on the 24th May.

Morning sickness has not abated. And nothing I can do about it. Damn it's annoying. But at least I know no2 is growing!

Vic ~ OMG there is a climbing stage!! That sounds terrifying!!! Right now we’re at an explore and walk stage LOL. He just walks around the house finding things non-stop! He follows me everywhere!

I was changing Em today and he was fighting me like mad as he does lately (arching his back and rolling over, arms going everywhere and screaming) when the cheeky little buggar stopped and looked at me, said Bye Bye, waved and then twisted himself around rather quicly to crawl off… I think not pmsl. I got him back and tried my best to stop laughing hehe. I can’t believe how smart he is getting and how much he understands. Its amazing.

Well I have my first teaching prac tomorrow and I am just stuffed. I am going to decide what I will wear tomorrow and then will bed to read my text book. Have a great day tomorrow everyone!!
