sara - sorry to hear that u are having a tough time this pregnancy, its hard enough without having colds. BTW i think Briley is a very cute looking girl.

kim - what a fantastic sleep!!! you must feel like a brand new person after that! DH let me sleep in today cause i had horrible period pain, was very appeciative of his efforts this morning.

Christine - eeeeewww at the mouse, they don't freak me out but i'd rather not see them on my kitchen bench, hope ur cat listened to what u told him.

its so good being able to talk to other mums again, i had a bad patch the last couple of months feeling like i a terrible mum and all that, i think its cause i didn't have you ladies to remind me that im not the only one going through things.

Took advantage of a beautiful day yesterday and dh and i took archie to park he chased the ducks around and had a wonderful time, he didn't like walking on the sand though, i think it was too hard t balance properly, unfortunately i think he has inheritied my really bad trait of giving up too easily when things get hard.

Feeling crappy today so im gonna veg out in my pjs all day and eat chocolate

Well good news ladies, dad does not have cancer. Phew.
I am hope today with a migraine and bad period issues. With my PCOS I used to be better on the pill, but lately it's just shocking. Migraines, vomiting and stomach cramps like mini contractions. grr.
Also kept Kaitlyn home cause her cough is shocking and I am contantly wiping green rivers from her nasal area. gross huh.
I had a crappy day at work yesterday. Got told off by someone who is not even my boss for something really petty and I ended up in the stairwell bawling for 20 minutes. I was so embarrased but I just 'cracked'. Could be another reason for the migraine today. I think my body needs a day of rest.
Have been pottering around getting some things organised for the little party we've having for Katy on Sunday. Have been making paper flowers out of tissue to hang from the marque style tent (portable carport actually) that we are going to have in the back yard. I hope it's nice weather for it. Everything is fushia pink and purple, I am actually starting to get excited. I hope it turns out how it looks inside my head.

Oh Katy's into the bin and there's rubbish on the floor, must dash....

Leanne that is such great news!!! Bad about the migraine etc though. Yesterday must have been the day for bad times at work- I got into hassles cause a small group of mums have written a letter complaining about my handling of the hot cross bun orders on easter hat parade day (to complicated to explain here but I cried in the toilets!) Its all OK now but I hate stress.
Got to go I am in class and minding yr 5 as well and its getting loud!

Vic I know it's no where near your level, but I'm feeling very 'technical' today. I sorted out my own internet connection and I've even burned my photos to disk!!! I'm so proud of myself but no-one to share it with. Now just to get photoshop to work and it'll be sweet....

grrr I've been saving a sara lee choccie cake (whole) from the weekend. I thought I might have a piece tonight - my bl****dy husband who is supposed to be on a very expensive diet has left just 1 piece!!!! Now he's got the s%%%s because I dare go cross at him!

HI girls! Just popping in to touch base. I still feel like a truck has hit me every day. I had some relief yesterday, and was able to get stuff done (washing, cleaning, work)... and I was hoping that the m/s was easing up. But no suck luck. Back with avengence today!

I feel bad that I'm not up for personals. I just have so little energy. But I am thinking about you all. It's amazing that we've been all chatting for an entire year! All our little babies are turning 1.

Shaun is doing well. He gets more confident with his walking every day. He's up to 6-7 steps. He starts off, but then he starts 'running' and lunges himself when he gets close to his target! I am 90% sure he will be walking confidently by his birthday (12 days away).

OK we've been invited to a fancy dress party and you have to go as something starting with a B (Darcy and I). Any suggestions? - I have to be able to come up with the outfit though....

Darcy could go as a baby! (or just dress her in blue and she could go as a boy!) Erin is good at thinking of this kind of thing, I will ask her in the morning.

Bumble Bee (baby's look so cute as bee's!)... you could buy a yellow t-shirt & paint black stripes on it and makes some wings out of cardboard... with black tights.

Baby - YOU could dress up as a baby (role reversal!)

Butcher - although that's not a real attractive look... but if you could borrow some whites & an apron it would be fairly obvious what you were.

Bear - although you would have to get a costume for that one.

Bandit - funny as you are a cop.

I am still here. Will be MIA for a bit though. I have a presentation due tomorrow, prac teaching Thursday and then another assignment due Friday not to mention its Em's birthday!!!!! I am so busy its not funny.

Vic ~ The BBH are great hey? I have 2 of the hemp and they are no where near as good as the bamboo. The bamboo ones are nice and soft as well. I think I have enough to do cloth part time now so I probably won't buy any more. It is addictive but I have other priorities right now! If I had a little girl however... well I think I'd go nuts!!

Kim ~ There are some gorgeous BumbleBee outfits around for bubbas!!! That would be soooo cute!!! Expensive I'd say though! Em is dressing up as Yoda from Star Wars for his birthday!

I do pop in once a day to read and I'm actually quite sad that I don't have the time to sit around and post - especially with Em's birthday being this week :(

Things will settle down soon surely though... at least they will if I get back to it!! Will talk soon girls!

I have been feeling clucky again for the last few weeks (oh no!) going to leave it another couple of months and see if the feeling lasts before i tell dh though. Even reading about Jodie's m/s isn't putting me off!! Archie has only had 1 hour sleep today (he usually has 3) and we are going out for tea tonight while mum babysits, so i hope he won't be too bad later.

My 1st mothers day was definitely an interesting one….I got a voucher for a pedicure from Jayden and he made something at FDC too it’s a paper plate with a heart cut out of the middle with his photo and pink, white & purple feathers around the outside……..its very cute but I don’t know what I am going to do with it. For a change mothers day morning I got to get up at 6.30am and for a change I got to get Jayden up and change his nappy and for a change I got to get his breakfast and feed him and for a change Chris got to sleep in!! Sorry was it fathers day??? Not impressed obviously lucky I liked my present haha.

Leanne: Great to hear about your dad! No good about your migraine though.

Kim: I love fancy dress parties! You and Darcy could go as B1 and B2 not sure where you would get the costumes from though, a fancy dress place should have them. YAY for your sleep!!

Shazz: I stand the same way, we had a Dr come to work a few weeks ago and said I am damaging my back from standing that way. How rude of someone to ask that! I could never ask unless I was 110% sure they were PG.

Jayden is learning animal sounds ATM, he can successfully woof like a dog and roar like a lion he also clicks his tongue and bounce up and down for a horse. I have been teaching him the pets in our family by name. What does Aker(my 1st dog) say…. ”woof woof” what does Voss(my 2nd dog) say “woof woof” What does Gypsy(my niece’s pony) say, and he clicks the tongue and bounces…it is so adorable! He has no idea how to meow even though my cat constantly does it! Pig he tries but he just screws up his nose and breathes in and out through his nose, and cow he will do if I say moo first.

I got AIO nappies off Ebay, we tried the Thomas the Tank print ones this morning but he only wore it for about 20mins before he pooed in it! I got the other 2 in the mail today but they don’t look as absorbent….do you use liners in them? I think that would make it heaps easier……I just have to find where I put them hehe

Well off to clean the kitchen and do some washing, hopefully I finish it all and get into bed before Chris comes home…….Have a good night girls (and rest of the week if I can’t make it back)

The good news about my dad was short lived I am afraid.
He went to the haematologist this morning and they now want him to have a bone marrow biospy as he may have some form of blood disease.

Got one sick little chickie here, poor love she can hardly breath and fell asleep on my lap as soon as I gave her a cuddle (I had a 12hr day today for ANOTHER court day).

Kim ~ That pic of Darcy is just too cute!!!! YAY for having such a huge sleep! Whoo hoo for your technical day as well hehe! I loved the Peapods at first as well but they are definitely not my fave now. I love the inserts but not the actual nappy. Are you washing them in any detergent? That could be blocking their absorption. Are they fitting properly? Em is a tad too skinny for them and sometimes they sit wrong and leak. That’s all I can think of. I haven’t got any cake copies no? I have found a similar cake in another book though. I only have about 8/9 nappies as well but we only do part time as Em is at CC 3 days a week and generally his Dad won’t use cloth on the Sunday I work. He’s too scared to change a pooey one!

Jodie ~ I hope that ms eases up for you soon! Not long till Shaun is walking around now! Its so much nicer once they do – no dirty knees and you can put them down when they get heavy LOL.

Tania ~ Grrrr to Chris!!!!! How rude!!! He should have been doing it all on Mothers Day!!! Sorry for not answering your email btw – just haven’t had the time. They should be fine. I use a disposable liner so I can just lift it out and throw away. That is fantastic that Jayden knows the animal sounds!! Em just learnt how to say dog and its so cute. Its so slow and sounds more like door but with a ‘g’ on the end!!!

Christine ~ I hope that little Riley is feeling better soon!!! Have you caught any mice yet? I cannot believe that people complained about hot cross bun orders!! The things I have to look forward to!

Leanne ~ I’m so sorry to hear about your dad :( And OMG about your MIL. I am so sorry to hear that :( I hope things get better for both of them. On a light note the party sounds excellent with all the flowers and the colour theme!

The presentation went well. At least my part of it did anyway. The others were less then engaging and thought that presentation meant reading an insert straight out of a text book off of a sheet a paper :doh: After everything we talked about I can't believe they all did that. I'm just hoping it doesn't pull my grade down.

I should be doing homework but wanted to come in and say hi to you girls first. I may just head straight to bed as I have my teaching prac tomorrow. I get to swap out of the Japanese class YAY!!!!

nat - the photo was taken the other day when Arch did his first painting, he is sucking on the paint brush, yuck! Well done on getting through the presentation, i hate doing group presentation there is always someone who lets the rest of the group down.

tea last night was great, and Archie went straight to sleep for mum (as always). have a sore throat which seems to be getting worse each day, hope it doesn't trun into something nasty. Going shopping today to spend Archie's birthday money, gonna buy some Shrek tops and singlet that are in kmart catalogue, very cute. this is the first time i have been able to buy him cool new clothes, cause he used to constantly spew he was always wearing big feral bibs so i just bought clothes from op shops, so it'll be nice to see him in something new and cool.

Speaking of shopping... Tania I finally got Em a pair of those Bonds PJ's we were talking about last year! I can't wait to put them on him! He has to unwrap them first though!

Em's birthday tomorrow!! OMG how fast has time gone by!! I'm still so spun out. I have a feeling I'll be upset but at least I'm excited to give him his presents. We are also going out to Ikea for the day and then having a special family dinner so it should be a full on day. Saturday we are icing the cake in the morning and then we have the party in the afternoon!

Just got back from teaching prac and I have to say that I had a great time today. I've started to really settle into the role and we were moved about a bit today so I wasn't bored at all. I'm also feeling so much better so was a lot more enthused about it all. I'm still trying to catch up on work from when I was sick though so I'm off to do that now!

ETA Emerson got a card with some money in it from his great grandparents. What should I do with it? Bank it or buy something he needs? Its so hard because its not like he can tell me what he wants. In fact the only thing he wants right now is a dog pmsl!!!! Maybe I can put it towards that haha. But seriously what would everyone else do?

Nat- I often used money that the kids got when they were small just for bills etc cause I had bought them clothes, toys etc! or even nappies if we needed them. they got sooo many things that they didn't need more toys and often we were/are really short of money. If we are having a good time financially I put it in the bank.

I would put it in Em's bank... or at least tell the g'parents that - and say you will put it towards something really good for him later on. Say that he got inundated with presents - and he doesn't need anything right now.

And as Christine says... if you want/need to spend it - then go for it.

If I get any money for Shaun - I think I'll put it in his bank account. Then I can buy him better presents at Xmas or something - putting their money towards it ;)

I'd bank it or like Jodie said at least tell them you did something useful with it. Darcy mainly gets cheques made out to her so I don't have much choice in the matter. Good luck with the cake. Darcy has a fascination with ducks too!

Isn't it amazing the changes - I mean they learned heaps really quick when they were small, then it sort of plateaued and the milestones were farther between, and now there's new stuff every day.

DH taught Darcy to wink yesterday, she can name people in photos, she said Dorothy today (too much Wiggles I know)... I'm constantly amazed at her.....

I'm over it eh.

Started a serious health kick today - which I hope I can keep going for the rest of my
life. Need to focus on something to keep my mind off all the other stuff.
Survived day one no worries. Even drank some water.
Kaitlyn's started saying (well I think she says) "What's this?" Sounds more like 'dis dis with a pointing finger at everything.
So cute.
I sometimes regret having her in care five days/week but no choice I am afraid.

Archie not his usual self this afternoon, very quiet and cuddly. He just woke up crying and shoving his fingers in his mouth, gave him some Nurofen as he has horrible nappy rash and lots of dribble so im thinking the teeth are on the move again, it never ends does it??

Nat: That’s ok about the emails. The Thomas nappy is great during the day (and for poo) I haven’t tried it for night yet. The other 2 I haven’t tried but they are taking forever to dry! How cute Em saying ‘Doog” Jayden can’t say the word but knows the sounds (hears our dogs say it enough I guess hehe). Hope yesterday wasn’t too emotional for you…..Only a week to go for Jayden :cry: I have been looking at those Bonds Pj’s again I wanted to buy another pair…..but I thought I better not hehe I love them though! With the money do whatever you need to do, I usually buy something that he needs. Em needs a dog ;)

Shazz: Woohoo for the gym! I used to love going…..not sure now though LOL

It was my nephew’s 8th birthday yesterday so we were there last night. Jayden only had 1 sleep all day (woke at 11.45am) and wouldn’t go back, he was nearly asleep when we got to SIL#4’s but all the ppl there was no match for his tired eyes and he didn’t go to sleep until we were on our way home at just after 10pm!! I can’t believe he would stay up that long. I can hear him in his cot now too so not much of a sleep in either!

I have been have (and yet to have) a bit of time off work lately, so when I heard about a baby comp during the day on Monday I thought I would have no chance of being able to go. I asked my boss if I could have part of the day off and I will start at 7am if I have to…..and of course he said yes!! I am so excited about the comp but not so excited about getting Jayden up and at SIL’s house at 6.30am! It also made me think, if I couldn’t have time off would it be wrong to get someone else (SIL) to take him? Some ways I think I should take him to his 1st baby comp as they don’t happen often here, but then is it really that bigger deal??

I better get this boy up and fed, yesterday I forgot to give him breakfast until I was ready to go to work! Lucky SIL was here to give it to him! More houses to look at and a birthday to organize today. Chris is working all night tonight so I will be back later.

Nah Tania It's a big deal. I would want to take Darcy too.

Well I'm over this cold. Darcy's lost her voice now and was up for 3.5hrs at 2am. Going to take her to the doctors today after she has a sleep. But now even though she's exhausted my normally fantastic little sleeper (bet you never thought you'd hear me say that) does not want to lay down and go to sleep. Shame cos she's suppoded to go to her first birthday party today with other kids and I was so excited about it, but she's too awful to inflict on other people's children ATM.

DH has just gone to pick up our new car!!!! It's a Mitsubishi Outlander with only 17000kms on it - brand new! Very exciting - we've been looking for one for ages and a new one would have cost $20000 more than we paid for this one. Only prob is he wants to show my mum and dad but then feels like he has to show his - don't know why. He put my dad as the family reference for a car in his name.....but anyway gonna try and talk him out of it - or they can come here.....I dislike them so....BUT I"M GETTING A NEW CAR!!! WOOOHOOO

Sara, I have posted a little something for you, well actually for your bubba. Did you receive it?

Just iced Katy's cake for her birthday party tomorrow. It's a number one with purple icing, and pink around the bottom (piped on) and I found this cake sand that is pink and sparkly and does not run into the icing when you put it in the fridge. Need to put the flowers and butterflies on tomorrow as I think they might sweat in the fridge. I am happy with it. Ate a bit (okay more than a bit) of icing though (as you do) and now I feel sick. I'm on a massive sugar high though LOL.

BBL. Off to clean the bathroom / ensuite now.

I have a head cold.... grr.
