Sheree: How you feeling sweetie? If you've got m/s - I sympathise with you. It seems 10 times worse when you've got a toddler and a business to look after. But it does ease up. And talking of easing up - that's what you have to do! Feet up as much as possible. Unfortunately, my body didn't even give me a choice - I didn't have the energy to get out of bed most times. But when it eases up - life is great & you have a stack of energy! Just don't worry about the housework or meals. If Wade has to get take-away every night - so be it. And let Lachlan eat whatever is easy to prepare. I had a shocking cough a month or so ago. I got this foul throat gargle antiseptic wash from the chemist. Don't know it helped, but there was not a lot I could take being pregnant. Also got some really strong lozengers from the chemist... they helped.
Vic: Congrats on your new arrival! Years ago I had a cavalier King charles. I got him from a shelter - and inherited the name Charles (I renamed him Charlie). Previous owners must have been really creative - NOT! He was the BEST dog!! He had so much character and personality. They say they are one of the best dogs for kids too! I had to find a new home for him when I went to live in England. Got the most lovely newly married couple who spoilt him rotten. They would send me photos & letters.
Elissa: How you feeling? Hope you're on the mend. Hope Archie didn't get the same illness. Like you, I've had Shaun screaming/crying non-stop for hours. Thankfully only a couple of days. Seems better now.
Shazz: Gosh, you're sick too!? convulsing & vomitting doesn't sound good. I've only had the odd migraine, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
Christine: My m/s is completely gone now - thanks! I'm getting tired - but that's because I'm doing so much (selling home, selling business, finding new home, training new staff...). Mum's coming to Melbourne at the end of September - so a while to wait. I replied to her email and said we could meet at a shopping centre or restaurant & I haven't heard back from her. (she doesn't know where I live). Riley sounds so gorgeous taking things with him! How did Jess go at soccer?
Leanne: HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!! hope you had a wonderful day! And hope Katy is feeling better... poor little possum.
Kim: wow... moving in October. If all goes well - I'll be moving around that time too... but not as far as you!
Tania: Love the new picture of Jayden in your ticker! Hope you're feeling okay. Must be something in the air. I had a cople of "down" days last week - and that's really unlike me. Hugs to you honey... if there is anything I can do - just email or msn. Always up for a chat if you need one.
Nat: Good luck with the house hunting. I didn't realise you were a single parent. How is Em feeling now? I hear that Gwen Stefani is fantastic in concert.
Sara: Not sure how long you'll be in hospital - but hope everything is going well. Can't wait to hear all about the birth. And can't wait to see photos of Colby. I just love that name!!
Well... another open house yesterday. 12 groups of people through. So far that's more then 50 groups of people (more then 100 individual people!). I'm getting into the habit of keeping the house clean, so that may stick after a while :) Apparantly a couple of people from last week were keen, and going to return yesterday. Hope they put in an offer. I would like to sell ASAP, rather then go to auction. Although it's so popular - we might get a good price at auction. But I don't like taking the risk. We were keen on two houses... but one got sold recently. The other goes for auction a week after ours. Yariv isn't as keen on it - but there isn't much around. I like it. And I will get my way!
Baby has started moving - which is a nice feeling.
No bites on my salon sale yet. I put it on eBay to see if that would get any interest. One guy emailed me... and I've put the broker as contact details - so not sure if he's had any contact. Might look at dropping the price again. I just want to get rid of it now. And my tax debt is not as bad as I thought it was. Would have been nice to make a really good profit on it - but it's best I let it go. And take whatever I can get for it.
Shaun is going well. He barely says any words. Babbles alot. But he's also being spoken to in two languages (hebrew & english) - so he will take longer. Funny though... we say "ef for bull bull"... and he grabs his crotch. "ef for" is "where is" in hebrew. You can work out what Bull Bull is!
Hope you all had a great weekend - and a great week ahead!
-

Way to go Adam
Well I just went to the doctor and he didn't do a HCG level, what tha...... With my previous history I just really want one as a starting point. Anyway going back tomorrow for another blood test. Why is they don't confirm pregnancy with a bt? I guess a urine test is so accurate these days huh?
Also the blood test did show low IRON levels (I think the normal level is 10-approx 20). Mine was 5. I am taking Elevit which I was sure had iron in it, so not sure why it would be low. Now I am wondering if I should be taking an iron supplement as well or maybe my iron is low because I have been sick with a cold. What do you all think? The doctor wasn't very clear.
-
I would take iron tablets as well just to be sure Sheree, take them with a glass of orange juice as it helps absorb it better.
-
Why don't you request one? mine did one. :dunno: The low iron thing could be because you're sick. SOme people's bodies don't absorb it well though either. Are you eating fortified cereals and having enriched milk products too (as well as grains and leafy veges)?
-
There is already 60mg of Iron in the Elevit! :o
I am going back to the doc tomorrow for the bt.
-
oh and yes I believe I am eating those foods Kim.
-
That's good. Maybe it's just cos you're sick.....
-
Can't believe how much pain I am in with my ears 2nite and my throat I can barely swallow it hurts so much. I can touch my neck and it is so swollen and sore. How the hell can the doctor just send me home!
-
my throat is roaring again too i can't bloody wait til summer and to top it off i now know why i had a migraine .. i have had a tender neck for a couple of days but i think i may have put my back out right between my shoulder blades i'm having transferred pain in my shoulder and when DH presses on my back my eyesight goes blurry and the pain is almost unbarable (sp) so i'm thinking another visit to the quacks tomorrow
-
Gosh Shazz you poor thing, do you go to a chiro for back problems? I hate back pain it gives me a headache/migraine too.
Sheree- hopefully your doctor can tell you why you iron levels weren't right since you are obviously getting enough in your diet.
-
wow so amny posts in so litte time, i will do my best with personals, but please forgive mefor missing anyone, i do care...really i do!
leanne - happy birthday! Its great to hear the you enjoyed you day and you had a yummy dinner lovingly prepared for you. Thankyou also for the support, its great to know i have caring people hear to chat to.
sheree - you poor thing, i really hope something will help you feel better soon!
kim- i would take her to the dr's too, hopefully a round of antibiotics will get rid of it. Good news about the great pay
vic - well done Adam! Why are dogs always so popular??
jodie - great t hear that things with the house are going well, hope the salon takes off too for you. How exciting to be feeling those little movements again!
shazz - ooooo yuck, hope you get your back sorted out quick smart, not nice at all.
Archie slept for four hours this afternoon.....don't think its a good sign, he was refluxy for the first time in weeks and took a lot of screaming to get to sleep tonight, hope its not my awful cold. Took arch to dr tonight just for a reflux checkup and referral for renal ultrasound (just a 6 monthly check-up for urinary reflux, no worries). Dr seemed to think arch will be on Losec til hes 2 at least, bummer, he told me to watch out for signs of vitamin B12 deficiency which is a side effect of long term use of Losec, luckily archie eats like a horse, so i reckon he'll be fine. Got home from the dr and founf that my sister and her boyfriend had let themselves into the house and cooked tea for arch and i! (DH is working) i thought that was very sweet. Am on CD31 so another long cycle....think it'll be a long TTC journey again, that doesn't really upset me cause the bigger the gap the better for my sanity, the only reason we want them close in age is to get me back at work sooner and have more money, so i don't think there'll be any TTC stress this time around which is nice.
-
Golly gosh Shazz it must be our age hey, we are falling apart at the seams.
Elissa - Lachlan too will be on Losec and Domperidone until atleast 2 also, but what is this about watching out for signs of vitamin B12 deficiency. No-one has ever told me that, what are the signs. Gosh he slept for ages huh. Lachlan still is lucky to have 2 x 20min sleeps a day! And waking 5-6 times a nite still, grrr... don't know where he gets his energy from!
Well Iam miserable, I am off to bed. Ni ni.
-
sheree - i knew that Losec could inhibit the absorbtion of nutrients as Losec lowers acid production in the stomach and some of the nutrients need that acid to help absorb into the body, but i didn't really pay a lot of attention. Dr just said that if Archie was looking very pale and lethargic for no aparent reason, then maybe he would be low in B12 and need a supplement, he said that it is unlikely to happen as Arch is such a great eater though. I don't think there is a huge concern over the side effects of the Losec, don't panic. I do feel very sorry for you not getting a great amount of sleep, hope he learns to sleep better before the new bub comes!
Took Arch to kindergym this mornng, he had a good time running around, there was a horrible little boy there who kept stealing toys from all the kids and pushing them over and stuff and his mum just ignored him and talked to another mum the whole time! I know some kids are hard to control and i do feel for those mums, but this mum didn't seem to give a crap what her kid did. My rule is i treat other kids the same way as i treat archie. Archie took a toy off another boy earlier and i made him give it back and play with something else, so i wasn't gonna let this older kid get away with it, i grabbed him by the arm (he was about 4 years old) and dragged him over to Archie took the toy out of his hands and told him it wasn't okay to take toys away from other kids, he didn't care he just ran off and played! What do you guys think? Would you have just let the kid get away with it?? BTW i wasn't rude and horrible to the kid in any way, just did the same as i did to Archie earlier. The kids mum was standing right next to me and she just kept talking to another mum. What would you have done?
Arch just woke up BBL
