Sheree - thanks i feel heaps better now that you told me im a 'normal' woman! He was whispering "i love you" in my ear, i do it to him sometimes right up against his ear so that it tickles. You'll probably hate me for telling you but Arch will sleep between 1-1.5 hours on a 3 hour trip and i still go crazy. DVD player is the way to go i reckon! I think you night be on the money thinking that it is teething that is causing Lachlans stresses atm, Archie woke up at 6am again this morninga nd crid and sooked til 8am, he wanted to eat his taost but everytime he took a bite he would cry, i gave him some Nurofena nd that seemed to do the job, he has just gone back to bed, hopefully for a long time! How many teeth does Lachlan have so far? Archie only has the first 8 teeth at the front, no molars or eye teeth, i think i have a lot of sleepless nights coming my way!
leanne - poor katy, no wonder she wasnt in the best of moods! I reckon Archie wont be far behind her.
shazz - wooho on the hair, doens't it feel great, i am getting mine done this afternoon and have been excited about it all week, a whole 45mins to be waited on with no child to worry about, heaven! GL with the eyelash tining i haven't had it done either. I was thinking last night a manicure would be great, i've never had one but i reckon it would be nice!
-
Morning girls,
Thought i would try and pop in early and post before Briley woke up.
Elissa - Yeah its been ok having ppl here. A little stressful when the babies are both crying and their are people everywhere though. I just disappear into my room at these times. The best thing is that they are both Apprentice Chefs and have been cooking yummy dinners! We had roast lamb with vegies lastnight and tonight we are having chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cheese tonight!! Yummo!
How cute of Arch saying "I u ooo!!" Clever little man. And no you are'nt a contol freak! I am exactly the same. You do need to be prepared for things like that. When mum and family looked after the girls a couple of weekends ago, they watched them at mums house. Well i had everything but the kitchen sink packed. I even sent Colby's basinette in!! I just want them to be as comfortable as possible.
Nat - Packing already?!?!?! WOW you don't muck around. I suppose you can't with kids hey. When do you move in there?? Or did i miss something you already have!?!?! I went and had a quick look at the link for the place. It looks really nice.
Shazz - That is totally crap about what happened with your son! Seems to me as though they were trying to humilate him. As teachers let alone adults, you'd think they would know better would'nt you! I would've been going off my head at them if it was me. Even considering changing schools! But thats me too. We had a spring clean here yesterday. I moved the computer and that out of the spare room so that my cousin had more room. And so that whenever i need the computer i don't have to sit in their room/space IYKWIM. Arrissa (my cousin) even vacumned the house for me!! Good to see you giving yourself a bit of YOU time!
Leanne - I hear you on the molars!!! We have cut 1 of them. So only 3 to go! We had a terrible night with Briley lastnight. She woke up screaming about 3 times. We had to put her in our bed in the end. And then all morning today she has been chucking massive tantrums out of irritation i think. I gave her some panadol and she seemed to settle down a bit. She has also been sleeping heaps lately too which i think is related to the molars. Glad to hear you are all feeling a bit better this week.
Sheree - Briley does that same thing when she is'nt hungry! She pushes the spoon away or takes it and throws it!! It makes me angry too sometimes. I have learnt too just take her out of the high chair and she will tell me later if she is hungyr again. I sometimes wonder if she is getting what she needs but she does'nt look under nourished! The CHN told me that they might eat one day and not eat properly for the next 2 and prefering just to pick. That made me feel a bit better cause Briley tends too do this a lot.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you are all well
No that i have taken so long to type this, littlest miss is awake. She has been asleep since about 8.30am thismorning! She is sleeping very well at nights now. She sleeps from 8.30pm to 7ish most nights. She slept from 10ish to 8.15am the night before last!! So she is sleeping on average 11 hours a night.
Ok better go...she is hungry!!
BBL to finish of personals!!
-
Sara woohoo on having a good sleeper it makes all the difference
-
Lachlan is never been good with teeth, can quite often get high temps with them. We think that is what is was last night, although I feel ordinary and have a horrible taste in my mouth and I can smell sickness in the air. IYKWIM.
Anyway he woke 4 times till midnight. That is normally my bed time as always stay up doing paperwork for the newsagency.
At midnight I was nursing him, and felt his body and you could feel he had a temp. Gave him some more panadol. I didn't want to put him to bed as I have read way too many stories of putting babies to bed with temps and they don't wake up.
So put him in our bed, and he wouldn't go to sleep till 4am this morning, everytime we tried to put him back to his own bed he would scream, but then in our bed he was a wriggeling girty (this kid just can't sit still).
So seeing as Wade had gone to bed before midnight, he took him into the other room and went to bed with him. He then woke at 6.30am this morning with Wade, but Wade said his temp was fine.
I woke at 9.30am this morning and went and got Lachlan, and his temp had flaired up again. He hates cold washers, but I just had to do it, to bring his temp down as he has had a convulsion before from a high temp. He was all cuddles with me on the lounge for ages this morning, but more panadol and more nurofen and he has come good.
After his sleep when he woke at 1pm he felt hot again, so again some panadol, and he is all good now.
Gosh that panadol is such good stuff for temps, he is prancing around the house like nothing is wrong.
We rarely suffer with his teeth or any illness for that matter during the day, but nights we suffer so badly..........
Teeth are such cruel things.
Thanks for reading, mammoth post I know!!!!!!!
-
Ohhh and I am so exhausted today, not done an ounce of paperwork or housework. I give myself and hour in the morning of things I always want to get done and haven't done then, not even made my bed OOOPS!!!!!
-
Ok back to finish off personals!
Tania - Congrats on your SIL and new nephew! How petty that your other SIL's be jelous! They should be just happy that their sister made it all the way with a beautiful healthy baby boy. Good news about your friends baby too! Hopefully he makes a full recovery. I hope you got to move into your new house on friday!!!
Sheree - Ohh poor Lachie! You sound as though you had a similar night to me. Hope he is feeling better. Briley had a terrible temp the other night too. Then the next day i found a molar so his might be related to that too.
I think that was everyone was'nt it?!?!? Sorry if i forgot anyone. I got so far behind there was so much to catch up on!!
Well we had a terrible night last night. Briley woke up 3 times then ended up in our bed. Today she has been crying and chucking massive tantrums. I can tell from her tantrum that its because her gums are giving her greif. I think this is the worst i have seen her from the teething. I have heard that the molars are the worst to cut though.
Briley's newest word is medicine!!! When she had tonsilitis she had to have to banana tasting antibiotics and she liked it. So now whenever i say want some medicine (panadol) she gets excited and starts saying "medicine!!". Then we i give her the panadol she spits it out with disgust!
We also have a date set for Briley eye operation. It will be on the 23'rd of this month. I was calling them to try and get it earlier as her eye has been stuck together everymorning and is really puffy and watery. The sooner we get it unblocked the better!
Colby is going very well. As i mentioned in my last post she is sleeping around 11 hours a night. Mostly is from 8.30pm to 7ish. Good for me sleep wise but i think my milk production my be getting affected from it. I have been trying to drink enough water during the day too keep it up but i just don't feel like it.
She is a real mumma's girl thats for sure. I have left her twice with Brent and his mum and both times she played up for them. But as soon as i get home and take her she is quiet as a mouse! Cheeky thing.
Colby has been asleep most of the day today but has been awake for most of the days lately. She might be having another growth spurt at the moment, not too sure. She is also a definete water baby. I give her a morning bath in the baby bath and then a bath or a shower with me or Briley in the evenings. Yesterday morning she was kicking and splashing that much water was going everywhere!! I was soaked! So she has obviously become really comfortable with the water.
I am thinking about putting Briley and Colby in the same room soon. Before i was worried that Colby would'nt sleep through until around 3 months and therefore wake Briley during the nights! I kinda jumped to conclusions there! But at the moment Briley is cutting her molars and is REALLY grizzly. She woke up 3 times lastnight and ended up in our bed! So it won't be until she cuts the rest of her molars i think.
Those with 2 or more children....When did you put them in a room together???
Well i think thats it. We are off to get Colby's needles tomorrow. I am also getting my right ear tested for hearing too.
Well i hope you are all well....
-
Yay on the appt for Briley - Sara - atleast you can get it done once and for all.
Gosh Colby is a good sleeper, and not that i am any expert by any means but I think with her not drinking at night, you boobs will just regulate for that, so if she feeds at certain times through the day then you will have enuf for that. I guess it is a long time 11 hours hey, but I am sure your boobs would just get use to it eventually, just maybe for now you are leaking big time in the morning huh???
Oh and Elissa, sorry I forgot to reply to you earlier. This will be no.10 tooth for Lachlan, he has 2 bottom front, 1 bottom left beside in between the eye tooth and molar, 4 teeth at the top front and top left and right and again in between the eye and molar teeth. Lately both the 1st molars bottom left and right have been so so swollen.
GOSH I AM GONNA SAY IT AGAIN - I HATE THESE TEETH. Hope you have a better night 2nite Sara, I am not soooo hopeful!
-
sara - yummo at the dinners you have been having! i cant believe Colby is such a good sleeper, well done! What a clever girl to say "medicine", i hope she sleeps okay tonight, these molars are knocking us all around! Are you psyching yourself up for the 23rd? Briley will be so much more comfortable after the procedure im sure, how are you feeling about it this time, i remember you were not feeling great about it last time, but i think you were still pregnant then, that wouldn't help with the emotions! i actually felt a tiny bit clucky when you were saying about Colby loving the bath, she sounds like such a cutie. Hope the needles don't affect Colby too much, GL with the hearing test too.
sheree - poor lachlan (and you and wade!) what a shocker of a night, it must be scarey seeing him have a temp after having seen him have convulsions before, thanks goodness for panadol and nurofen! i hope he catches up on some sleep tonight. i reckon Archies bottom eye tooth is the one that is giving him grief atm, he has ben great tonight though and is sound asleep, lets hop he stays that way til 9am....
Had my hairdresser appointment this afternoon, bit disappointed actually, my usual hairdresser was away so i had a new girl (who was really lovely) but becuase it wasn't what i expected i started feeling abit anxious and couldn't think straight, so she ended up doing what i didn't want her to do, bummer, no biggy though, nothing a few months growth wont fix, then she blowdried it really dodgy, its all wirey and fluffy, yuck, never mind its only hair.
i think a couple of hours apart this afternoon is just what Archie and i needed when i got home tonight we were the best of friends hugging and kissing all night, aaawwwwww. He talks in his sleep quite a lot just like his dad, it is really funny, wish i could understand what he is saying. the other night when i had to share a room with him he screamed twice then talked in a whingey voice, and tonight when i moved him and covered him up when he was asleep he had a bit of a convo with himself while he searched for his dummy with his eyes closed, funny boy.

Okay we have a dilemma. We have a biter. For the past two weeks at CC Katy's been biting kids. I feel so bad. I think it might be from her teeth - I mean I wonder how we would feel four big teeth in so many weeks.... DH picked her up today and apparently there will be a copy of the biting policy in her tray for me in the morning. Should I be worried??. It's not like we tolerate it here at home. Could she have learnt it from CC. Does this mean my daughter is a bully? I am trying so hard to raise her nice and sweet and kind ( :( ) I am such a paranoid mumma aren't I?
What do you do? Do you ignore it, smack her for it, bite her back..... ohhhhh I am so confused.
-
Oh Leanne - how can a 17mth old girl know between being a bully or not! I mean yes you can try to enforce for her not to bite and at Child Care they are part of that as they are their carer, there is no reason for you to feel guilty, it is probably just a phase and not at all your fault. Not sure how you enforce it though, maybe someone else has a better idea, I pretty much wing it with Lachlan most of the time, because I think he is different as all kids are and react to different situations differently. I only have to say don't when he opens his mouth on me and he doesn't, but a few months ago he probably would have clamped down on me, but again not realising what they are doing. I wish you luck for it, but don't let the childcare centre make you feel guilty for it ok.
Elissa - Well we have no eye teeth yet, so I am unsure what is worse at this stage. These molars are just horrible though at the minute though. Whahooo on the hairdoo.... bugger it wasn't as you expected though, hopefully it will wash out nicely for you though. Too cute on the cuddles, I reackon Lachlan is the same, lots of cuddles and kisses when he hasn't seen me for a while. Gosh talks in his sleep hey, Lachlan would wake himself up, he is such a light sleeper! I went into his room last night to clean up, ever so quietly and I set off one of his books, OMG, he woke up!!!
-
It was quiet in here yesterday! I have decided that I’m not actually going to pack. I’m just going to pick things up from this place and put them in the car and then take ‘em out at the other end lol. Much easier. I got my phone connected today and the gas/electric goes on tomorrow. I have an assignment due Friday and will focus on the move once the assignment is submitted!
Shazz Get that whip out lol! YAY for the eye lash tint how cool! I got my nails done a few weeks ago and now I don’t think I can be bothered having them refilled. Too expensive lol! I have a voucher for a massage and pedicure which I can’t wait to take. I was going to do it in the holidays but Em was sick so perhaps next holidays!
Sara Hope you’re having fun with your cousin! I am glad you have a date set for Briley’s operation. Better to get it done sooner hey? And I love the new word lol.
Ellissa GL at the reunion and with the car trip as well. I have no idea how Em will go on one. I think I will find out when I drive over to the Peninsula at Christmas time! That is so cute of Archie! I’ve been trying to teach Em that for ages!
Sheree Bloody teeth! I swear that’s the reason why Em has been so sick lately. Teeth combined with an infection ugh! I hope Lachlan is feeling better soon and you catch up on some sleep!
Leanne I know how you feel! I wish I could get on here more often as well! Oh no at the biting!! Em has done it a few times here at home but not at CC I don’t think. He has been bitten himself though and it honestly hasn’t bothered me and won’t unless it is one child consistently biting him. Generally all kids will go through a biting stage – it is no reflection on your parenting at all!!! If she doesn’t do it at home I have no idea what advice to offer though! When Em has bitten here we tell him off with a firm no and generally sit him down on his bum as this is the only way he realises he's actually done something wrong and its not a game.
LOL I started this at dinner time and I’m only just finishing off! How slack is that. I have dishes to do and some stuff to print off to read while I watch Prison Break! I cannot wait to get this assignment submitted so I can start moving stuff. I've been holding back the excitement until then lol!
Not much else to report here. Em is back to his normal happy self and we've been having so much fun together. He is learning his body parts and is constantly walking around saying them and pointing to them. He knows eyes, nose, ears, head and feet. We're working on belly and bloody Gordon taught him 'tits' :wall: I can just imagine that going down well when we're out in public! Em has started talking so much more these past few days though - its been great!
Alright I better get a move on I suppose! Will chat later!
-
How cool on Em's talking Nat. These boys are so clever hey, but Lachlan is still no where near as good as Em and Archie. He copies me alot but hard to understand still. Lachlan does however know his body parts. When changing him, I say where is your eyes/ears/nose/head/belly/feet and he knows and points to them all. So he does understand well, but definitely wouldn't say he is speaking as well as your Em and Elissa's Archie. Yay on the move, how exciting, a nice fresh start. Nice to hear you are happy too, we miss you.
-
Don't worry about it at all Sheree! I had someone tell me the other day that Em seemed behind in that area!!! So who knows where they are meant to be at! I really try not to compare these days. I'm happy with anything that keeps him more baby-like hehe!
-
Nah I am not worried, I would be however if he wasn't understanding, and he is, so he is progressing in his own kinda way.
-
hiya girls
on the talking part ryan says bugger all the most is see ya later with a wave i can see where he is coming from on most occassions ... but when you have older kids they tend to do AlOt of talking for the younger ones it is very hard to get the to stop doing it then he gets frustrated becuase he is used to his big sis and brother doing stuff for him
but any way i popped on to say hi and we are off to catch a movie * Evan almighty* i hope it is good i heard it is only funny at the end so i am hoping that is proved wrong ok off we go ryan has decide to throw a tiny tanty on the way out the door lucky me
-
-
Have a great day today Shazz. I hope the movie is good. There are heaps of movies I want to see right now. I still haven't seen Spiderman 3 or Pirates of the Carrebean 3. I really want to see Stardust too.
I am a third of the way through my assignment. It is going well which is good. I may even have time to clean the house afterwards!!! Or even better pay the bills!!! Or pack.... the list is endless lol.
Hope you're all having a great day!
-
Hi all
the movies was so funny though i think my Dh and i have warped senses of humor we were the only ones laughing at some things  but over all i', a whole lot poorer as we went shopping after wards
-
leanne - try not to panic about katy biting, try not to think of her as a 'biter' as such, it could just be the fact that she has been teething, or it could be a way of her expressing her frustration, either way im sure she wont still be biting when she's 18! Archie has had a few stages where he bites out of frustration and i always make sure i tell him it hurts me and its not okay, if he goes to bite again i put him down and walk away and give him no attention at all, this is the ultimate punishment for Archie, it really breaks his heart when i walk away from him and he knows im not happy with him. I really dont think smacking or biting back will achieve anything, though i am no expert, maybe different children need to learn different ways....what things have you tried so far to let her know that biting is not okay?? Now when Archie gets all frustrated he often opens his mouth and lunges for me but he knows its not okay and usually is able to control himself (or grab a handful of my face and pinch as hard as he can!lol). Im sure CC will be able to provide you with some strategies to curb the biting, probably if you do what they do when she bites she will ahve some consistency when she does it and will know exactly what the consequences will be if she chooses to bite. Gosh i have banged on a bit much now sorry.
Nat - GL with the moving! How long is the drive to the Penninsula?? Hope Em will be okay for you. lol at Em's tits, Archie points to my boobs when im getting changed and says "daddy" lol, (he may have witnessed DH copping a feel!).
sheree - hi hope you had a nice day
shazz - glad you enjoyed the movie, what did you buy today??
DH had the day off work today, he is so stressed and anxious atm, he had the job interview last week and they told him he'd get a phone call this week, well he rand then today and they haven't even sat down to choose the people yet, so its gonna be at least another week, Dh is on night shift next week which means he will get extremely little sleep cause he'll be so stressed about hearing about the job! GGGRRRRRR!
On a brighter note, i got out of the house BY MYSELF today for a couple of hours, it was lovely, paid some bills, window shopped, did thegroceries and i bought a new bag, i am so sick of the boring black nappy bag i have had since Archie was born so i bought a cute tote bag to use instead now that i dont need to take all that baby parafenalia each time we leave the house, my baby is growing up! We made pizzas for tea tonight on pocket bread, Archie helped put all the toppings on, he loved it, except he ate half the container of olives instead of putting them on the pizzas lol, he then ate whole pizza to himself, i think he had a tummy ache afterwards though, little piggy, he was even asking for more!
When is everyone planning on booking into CYH for their 18 month checkup? I am thinking of booking an appointment in the next few weeks.
-
Glad you had a nice time Shazz.
How did you go Nat, what did you get done today?
Elissa - bugger about the job, they sure do know how to may you stue on something. OMG I sooo wish my child was a good eater like yours, unbelievable!!! We seem to be struggeling again, but then he still has a temp, had it for 3 nights and 2 days now, might go to the doc tomorrow I am thinking, make sure it is nothing more then teeth, what do you think! But I still feel like we are struggeling in the food dept again though, my fussy child, he will eat some things but not others, so it is not like he won't eat. Like today I gave him ham and cheese and a cheerio, didn't eat any of it. Then gave him bread, he ate that, then gave him a bit of fruit (goldenvalley fruits), he has three little pieces and didn't want anymore, and then ate his yoghurt. That is all he had for lunch..... I am really getting frustrated again!
-
Morning girls,
Elissa - Oh poor DH. I hope they pull their fingers out soon and make a decision so he can stop worrying so much! Glad you got a day to yourself. That is totally impossible here at the moment. I am lucky to get 5 minutes to myself sometimes. I have left the girls with Brent a couple of times but totally stressed the whole time cause i knew as soon as i left they started to play up for him! So now i just take them with me even though its more stress for me!! Oh the joys of having 2 under 2!!! How cute of Archie helping with the pizza's! Maybe i should try and do that with Briley and she might eat a bit more!!
Sheree - Briley is'nt much of an eater either. She will pick a lot with her food but will only occasionaly eat a proper meal. I have read and been told that most toddler will only eat 1 day then just pick for the next couple of days. Which is what Briley does quite a lot. I do worry a bit that she is'nt eating enough though. And i think when she is hungry she tries to replace it with the bottles which you're not meant to do. But i'm not going to not give her something. Even if it is a bottle. I'm over it! I just want her to eat properly!!!
Nat - You have so much going on in your life at the moment don't you!?!?! More than me i reckon. You seem to coping so well. Good on you. Briley is really picking up on the words too now. You can pretty much say most words to her and she will have a go at saying them. Brent taught her the eyes, nose etc etc ages ago and when she would say eyes she would say it and then poke you in the eye!!! I brought this cool book from Woolworths yesterday called First Words. It has all your basic words in it. There are a few in there she knows and a few that she does'nt. Naughty Gordon!! ;)
Shazz - I have been hanging out to go to the movies for ages now. I really wanted to see Evan Almighty! Glad you thought it was funny though. I will just have to wait till it comes out of video as per usual! The movies are'nt doable just yet! Bummer about the shopping though! That is bound to ruin a good day!
Leanne - Katie is'nt the only one!!! Its just started here too. The biting i mean. Its not out of control but she has tried to bite my cousin a couple a of times when she is trying to pick Briley up from running away. She tried it on me the other day when she got the poo's at something. Briley knows what the word "bite" mean from Brent teaching her it with food. So when she tried it on me i just spoke to her in a stern voice and said "Don't you dare bite mummy or mummy will smack your bum!" She did'nt end up biting me so i don't know wether that was from me or wether she just forgot. I was a little worried about this stage though!! Hopefully it is just a phase and will pass for the both of us soon.
Where is everyone else??? Who's missing??? Vic, Christine, Tania, Kim.....Hope you are all well.
Well we had a massive day yesterday. We took my cousin and her b/f to see a recruitment place and they both got jobs starting saturday. Thats all good but as they are apprentices the wage is only $200 a week!! How the hell are they meant to live on that?!?! Apparently you have to get centrelink to make up the rest. Arrissa has done her course to be a qualified chef just not the practical side of it. So if the head chef where they are going to work thinks she should be at level 2 or 3, she can put her up aswell as her pay. They are praying this will happen!
Yeah so then we went to get Colby's needles which were perfectly fine. She did cry but only a little bit. Not enough to make me cry anyways!! Then we went to the beach and had lunch with family till around 3.30pm and then went grocery shopping. By the end of the day poor Briley was buggered. And her gums were playing up too.
Speaking of gums! Here i was telling everyone Briley's molars were coming through when its actually her canine's that are coming through. We already have our first set of molars we are just waiting on the canines and the second set of molars and we are done!! She has one canine tooth through already just wating on the other 3 now. I don't think they are far away though cause she is really showing terrible teething signs. The tantrums are getting worse, ie the biting. I feel so sorry for her though. I can tell they are really giving her grief cause her cheeks and face are so red. They must be making her ears ache too. And ofcourse she chucks a majoy spazz when i try and put bonjella on and spits out the panadol for me! Brent manages to give it too her though.
So yesterday we got Colby weighed at her appointment and i think her weight had begun to plateu. She is still only 5.95kg. I asked the Dr if their weight starts to slow down now and she said no. Apparently FF babies grow much more than BF babies. One of the girls in my other thread is having to supplement with formula as her bubs is doing the same thing. This is all new territory for me now as Briley only BF for just under 4 weeks. I never thought about this sort of thing. I thought you just had to feed them and that was that. Mind you Colby is still in the acceptable ranges for her weight. I just thought she would be heavier since our last weighing.
Well this is a massive post. Sorry girls. I might not be in on the weekend as we are building a shelter for our new horse! Oh i forgot to tell you all about that! Later! Yeah and i want to lay a slab of cement and build a pen for our geese. They are well and truly into mating season and have'nt got anywhere to lay. We have been putting it off for ages so because Brent has an RDO this weekend we are doing that!
Ok ending this now!
Hope you are all well...
BBL...maybe!
-
Shazz Shopping is so much fun though!!!
Sheree I was a very happy girl. I got my assignment done and I got my bills all paid and sorted my budget out. And I managed to watch Bionic Woman and Heroes without having to do something else at the same time
Sara Em is loving the ABC books and big picture books. Its amazing what he is starting to recognise. Its actually fun reading a book to him now because he doesn't just want to rip the pages and turn the book around lol. Apprenticeship wages suck. I honestly don't know how they expect people to survive on it. I can't believe how many teeth Briley has! Em has 7 and is just getting his 8th lol!
Ellissa Your me time sounds lovely! I hope your DH finds out about his job soon. The drive is less then 2 hours so shouldn't be too bad. Especially if I time it with his day time nap as he sleeps for 2 hours some days.
I was meant to go to a park mothers group meet today. The weather is beautiful for it and all the kids are on school holidays so it would have been lovely. I have bitten the bullet and stayed home though. Its a 25 minute drive there and I have to go straight past it again tonight on my way out to dinner so it seems like a waste of petrol to go twice in 12 hours lol. Not to mention I have so much to do here and I have work over the weekend and then uni Monday & Tuesday as well. And I'm starting to move next week! I might even take a few things over today as well!
Alright I better get a move on and be productive. Dishes to do, floors to mop and vacuum, washing to hang lol... a girls work is never done ;)
-
sheree - Hope its just Lachlan's teeth that are causing the tempa nd not an infection or something. It must be incredibly frustrating and stressful to have a child that isn't keen on eating much of anything, i often tell Dh how lucky we have been with Archie and his eating habits, i had about 1 month around his birthday where he became quite fussy and that was stressful enough.
sara - gosh i just cant imagine having to deal with 2 under 2 day in day out, it must be impossible to get any you time, hopefully as Colby gets abit older they will be happier to stay with Brent for longer without you having to stress so much. Yeah give cooking a go with Briley, it was time consuming and very messy, but we really all had a good time with loads of laughs and lots of eating. hope you cousin's get some more money soon! Im glad Colby handled her needles okay and it didn't uset you too much, well done for being brave! The teething is horrible for them now isn't it? Bonjella didn't seem to help Archie at all so the chemist gave me this stuff called sedalotion whcich you put on their gums with a cotton bud, it totally numbs the area, i have used it for ulcers and its great stuff. I wouldn't worry about Colby's weight, the only time you need to get concerned is if she starts losing weight, for the first 12 months Archie was extremely slow at putting on weight and it used to worry me a bit but since his birthday he has caught up and some, he weighs 14kgs!! have fun building!
nat - good that the drive isn't too long Nat, i always find that Archie is happy inthe car for the first 2 hours of a journey, he always sleeps at least half of that time, hope Em does too. Enjoy your dinner tonight, bummer about mothers Group meet, oh well theres always next time. hve fun with the moving.
Dh sent me a text message fom work saying how he is sorry we have had to put up with his moods due to stress over this job interview, im glad we have a relationship where we can talk about absolutely everything and we always apologise in the end if we have been not the nicest to each other, not that he has been horrible, just you can always sense his stress which of course we feel as well.
Council said they'd come yesterday and assess our fence that has blown over, it is bordering their property, of course they still haven't ben her to do it.....i did expect that though.
Dh's uncle and aunt are down from Adelaide atm, they have 3 young kids, 6, 4 and 1 so it will be good for Archie to have a play with them when we catch up on Saturday afternoon, not looking forward to it that much though as its the Italian side of DH's family that we dont have much to do with as they are constantly looking down on us (most of them anyway, there are a couple of good ones) cause we dont live in a flash house in the nicest area, etc etc blah blah blah, stuff em! LOL

Hello everyone. ITS THE WEEKEND!!!
I just spent a lovely day with my mum (she really needed to get out... Being at home with dad all day every day gets a little boring. It sux that he's sick. This cancer thing is the pits). Anyway back to the point, we spent so long at the shops I actually had to pay for parking!.. Kaityln was a total angel the whole day, so we had a great time. She's just crashed now though...
The biting seems to have settled down. I googled a whole heap of information the other day and found out that biting back is probably the worst thing you can do. Stern words and being down at their level is the best thing "No Kaitlyn it hurts when you bite mummy", is what they say but it usually comes out like "That bloodie hurt!". We'll have to work on it.
On Wednesday Katy got bitten at CC. She was playing peekaboo with another child who got over excited and bit her. Katy did not like it much and has not bitten since. So hopefully....... I was talking to one of the carers who said that when Katy bites, she starts crying. I am thinking she has seen one of the other kids do it and has thought to give it a try.
Not much else going on here really.
Oh, I just uploaded some pictures of Kaitlyn and her new sunnies. They are in my album on BB under my user name (der leanne, of course).
I am holding a 'girls night in' to raise money for breast cancer in a few weeks. Pretty excited about that. Anyone want to come?!!! We'll be having pink champagne, stawberriesd dipped in chocolate and all that sort of stuff. I hope we can raise some good ca$h.
Anyway enough rambling from me. I will come back later for some personals.
Hope all is well with everyone and speak with ya's later.

Just a quick post, we had a big day in Emerald an hour away! What an effort to go shopping with a toddler....
Well I took Lachlan to the doctor yesterday as he had high temps for 3 nights and 2 days. My hunch all along was teeth, but didn't think temps lasted that long with teeth, so I was best too check it out and yep he is all good! Just god dam teeth. But he hasn't had a temp in 24 hours now YIPPEE......
I even went to bed at 9.30pm last night, unheard of for me and slept till 8am this morning and could have stayed in bed too! And............................................... .................................................. .................................................. .... Lachlan slept thru, YAY!!!!!!!!!! Now that is probably the 5th time in 4mths that he has slept thru, so that is something to shout about!
We start swimming lessons next week again, can't wait and see if Lachlan loves the water as he did when we first arrived here. I really don't think he will remember, but still loves his bath, so I am guessing it will be all good!
Also everyone around the town has been saying they can't believe how hot it is and it is not even summer........ Geez think we are in for a ripper! It is a hot place here as it is, great!!!
-
Wow i have so many posts to read!!! Apologies for all I miss in personals.
Sara- how gorgeous your girls sound and what a good sleeper Colby is! Don't stress about the weight thing, if she sleeps that well and is having plenty of wet nappies then she is getting enough from you.
Shazz- we took Riley to the beach and he threw sand in his own hair all the time LOL He was a bit confused by it too. Erin saw Evan Almighty last week too and loved it. I had to see ratatouille with her which was OK but nothing to write home about.
Nat- I hope the move goes OK and that you settle in quickly. naughty Gordon teaching Em tits!!
Leanne- that must be worrying with the biting but its so common, at least she seems to be over it. I hope your girls night in goes well, I had one last year in memory of my mum, we raised over $500.
Kim- hope the move is going well and you are well.
Elissa- hope DH finds out about his job soon, its so stressful isn't it and guys seem to take out their stress by being annoyed at everyone else don't they! At least you can talk about it. Riley sounds like Archie in the eating department, I am constantly amazed at how much Riley eats!
Sheree- Jess was a very picky eater, she went for months only eating chicken nuggets for tea when she was about 18 months and now she is a healthy teenager so don't worry about Lachlan! Its hard though isn't it? Riley doesn't say much either, well he chats all the time but not much of it is words we can understand!
Riley is into everything ATM, yesterday he got a full packet of weetbix and spread them all over the toyroom floor then trod them into the rug LOL He hides things too, I found a pair of my knickers from the washing basket in the coffee table drawer (they were clean LOL) and the TV remote in the recycling box. Its such a beautiful age though I am loving having another little one so much.
-
Missy's fantastic mood from yesterday has ended. She's in an absolute terrible mood. Maybe it was all too much for her and she's now overtired. Who knows. She's been so naughty this morning. Even tried to bite me. I've thrown her in bed with some books and she's not impressed.
Grr.
-
Christine - too funny on Riley putting your nickers in the drawer.
Leanne - love the sunnies on Katie and gosh she looks like you, doesn't she! Oh and Wade's sister jut had a baby yesterday and named her Katelyn too!
For those of you that replied about Lachlan and his eating. I guess for me it has just never been any different really, never like food ever!! The troubles we had when he was a baby, I don't know what it is like to have a reasonable or good feeder. I know he is at that toddler stage and they are fussy, but from where we have been, it has never been any easier for us.
I am on a mission today, getting rid of clutter and then onto the paperwork when daddy gets home........
-
We are on a declutter mission today too Sheree!! Erin has already cleaned out the fridge and Jess and I are doing paperwork clearing. We are also minding my niece (8 months) luckily Riley has gone to bed!
-
Yeah yesterday I did a big grocery shop and these houses are so small that I reorganised as I was putting away. Doesn't it feel good! I have already decluttered my room this morning, now to fold up the washing that has accumulated, get up to date with the washing and then onto the paperwork. Actually I might even clean out the bathroom cupboard yet!
-
Still fighting with miss grumpy today. grrr.
Sheree you reckon she looks like me? Thank you....
Heaps of people have said that just after commenting on how cute she is. I can't take compliments too easily.
Congrats on your new niece Katelyn - I think its a great name!
I hear quietness. fingers crossed I have won this time.
Now to hang the washing and attempt some housework. Place looks like a bomb has hit it. Might clean out my fridge too.
-
leanne - glad you feel better about the biting situation, hope being bitten has deterred katy from doing it to others. Wish i could come to your Girls Night In sounds like good girly fun! Hope Katy's mood improves, not a good way to spend your weekend, with miss grumpy pants!
sheree - WOOHOO on the big nights sleep with NO interuptions, you must have felt awesome when you woke up!
christine - its great that you are enjoying Riley so much, OMG at him tredding the weetbix into the rug, at least you can see the humurous side to it LOL.
Well done on the decluttering everyone, i am slowly getting there to, its feel so much better looking at an organised room, i did the laundry friday, i cant believe how big it seem now, and clean WOW, my fridge is sparkling and not a mouldy vegetable in site, i have been putting the bathroom off for a long time though.........
We had a great time last night, Archie had a ball with DH's little cousins. We met a friends granson who is 9 weeks old, DH held him and looked so akward with him, didn't know how to support his neck or anything, he got the hang of it quickly though, Archie held his head really well from day 1 so he was used to a floppy baby. i had a big cuddle, he was really easy going and quiet, he was the same size at 9 weeks as Archie was at birth!!!!! i was holding him and i thought, hang on my newborn was no smaller than this, and yep this baby was only a few ounces heavier! Everyone was watching me with him going oh you have to have another one you are such a natural blah blah blah...I just said yeah, if only they were this quiet and happy al the time id probably have 6! Archie was very jealous of the baby though, he was overtired which wouldn't have helped but it was interesting to see him fight for our attention and cuddles!
Archie's new words for the day are "nina" Tina, "nonna" Nonna, "nin" bin, "eeew" wheel, "ga" car.
Looks like we will be getting a second car, whoopdedoo, i can finally have freedom while DH is at work, i mgith be able to have a social life now (if i can find some friends LOL). DH's cousin just bought a flash new car, she is selling her '89 Barina for $500 in really good nick, DH would use it for work so Arch and I can have the big car (safer for Archie).
-
Evening ladies,
Elissa - Awww how cute of Arch saying all those new words! Briley is going so well with her speak too. Her newest is "Bye Bye". She waves when she is saying it too. Its so cute. She is really turning into daddys little girl too now. Whenever he walks away from her she follows him pointing at him as if to say "Hey! Where are you going without me?!?!" She is really turning into a little girl now. Your friends grandson must be a littlin then. How much did Arch weigh at birth???
Leanne - When you posted in your last post that you heard silence i thought you were going to say that mean that Katie was into something! I was going to reply that today we heard silence too and found the Briley was in my cousins room! They had left the door in their and she got into their stuff and pulled out some adult "toys"!!! Brent came out to me and said "Bub, Briley was in Arrissa's room and brought out these items(don't think id be allowed to mention them in here!) holding them up saying Daddy!!" We just pi**ed ourselves laughing. Then washed her hands! Anyways...I hope Katie ended up behaving for you!
Shazz - Gold Coast??? I thought you lived in Sydney??? Am i totally tripping out or what?!?!? Are you on holidays? Well i hope you had a great day on Bribie Island anyhow.
Sheree - Yeh its getting hot up here too. Hope Lachie keeps this sleeping through thing going! Its great getting an uninterupted night sleep is'nt it!
Hi to everyone else! Hope you are all well.
Well we did'nt get the goose pen build nor did we build anything for the horse! :wall: We did sort a few things out for them though.
Ok i am so tired that i am raving with a lot of nothings. I had 2 rums lastnight 2 hours apart and they have hit me like a tonne of bricks today. I feel like i have'nt been to bed at all. Not sure what thats about. I also ran out of iron tablets so that could be part of it too.
Anyways...I will be back in the morning when i a little more sane!!
Hope you are all well...
Ni night.
-
Elissa - glad you had a nice nite. Lachlan was the same, so strong with his head from day 1 too! Whahoo on the car too.
Sara - hope you feel better tomorrow.
Well my boy had Mr Grumpy pants on this arvo. He seems to have his morning sleep but no afternoon sleep and has been doing this for atleast 6 days now, so guess he is wanting just one sleep a day now. The thing is we don't get up till 9am and then I use to put him down at 10.30am and now it is more like 11.30am and he is probably down till 1pm and then I use to put him down at 2.30pm but with going down later in the morning now I put him down at 3.30pm and he fights it so badly and doesn't sleep, just rolls around with his water bottle if he does settle that is. So tonight he would not eat, he was so frustrating...... He got a couple of little smacks from us. Wade put him to bed without a bath at 6ishpm but I went and got him after 15mins cause I didn't want him to go to bed that early and especially with no dinner or milk. Anyway we tried again and he cried and screamed and chucked big tanties. We got a little bit of gelled fruit and custard into him (generally things he will eat), but wouldn't have a bar of his meat and vegies (which is becoming more common atm). So anyway he was still carrying on, so Wade put him back to bed at 7pmish without a bath, without jammies on, WE HAD HAD ENUF! He was alseep within minutes. I went in a little later to change his nappy while he was asleep and he only slightly woke. So hopefully that is him for the night! All this waking over the past 5 months must have finally caught up with him. I think we must have worn him out too, I was watering the lawn this arve and he was having a great time running backwards and forwards through the hose. It was laughing and running around for ages.
Tonight I have put on a chicken, vegie and noodle casserole for him and if he doesn't eat that I am going to be one very cranky mummy, I am running out of options here!!!! That sort of thing seems to be his favourite and after trying the baby food one tonight, it appears bland, so hopefully one with lots of flavour will to the trick!
I have a big headache from the fights we had with thim this arvo, so I am doing the wages and going to bed. Ni Ni, everyone.
-
Miss grumpy pants stayed grumpy until she did three poohs in a row, then was happy to have her bottle and go to bed. Nice.
I am off to bed too.
Ni nite all.

Ellissa ~ That is so sweet that DH sent you that message. Hope your fence gets fixed soon. I am glad that you had a lovely time catching up with your family. And YAY for getting a new car as well. That is great you’ll have some freedom now!
Shazz ~ Ohhh the goldcoast sounds lovely!
Sara Yep I’d say the alcohol and no iron tablets is why you’re so tired lol.
Leanne ~ She looks so cute in her sunnies!!! The cancer thing must suck hey :( I’m glad you had a lovely day with your mum though.
Sheree ~ WHOO HOO for Lachlan sleeping through! I’m sure he will love swimming lessons just as much as he did before. Em still loves his too. Glad the high temps have gone. Does Lachlan still have two naps? There’s no way Em has two anymore lol. He just has one big one – perhaps two hours.
Christine Em is hiding stuff everywhere too lol. Its so funny when I do the cleaning. I find things everywhere. Makes me giggle at least.
I LOVE decluttering missions lol. I have been on one for months and this move is gonna help me get rid of the last of the crap! YAY! Having one of those days today *sigh* lets hope tomorrow is better. My lecture got cancelled so that has to be a good start right!
Will probably pop in tomorrow for a chat!
-
Yeah well he was having two sleeps Nat and it worked out so well with me with the Newsagency, but now it appears he only wants one, but that one has to be longer then it is if he wants to do that! I am still putting him down for the 2nd one but he goes down with such a fuss even with his water bottle and I keep checking on him and he is still rolling around with his water bottle. Little monkey!
For those who use a dummy for sleep, can you please help me. As you all know Lachlan uses his water bottle for sleep, not a dummy! Do any of you have to replace it through the night? Do your kiddies suck to go to sleep and it falls out, or does it stay in most of the night or part of the night???? Just trying to source some info cause we are replacing this god dam bottle like a dummy. He did sleep through for 2 nights but even then I am not sure as when I go in there he still has the bottle in his mouth at times. Hence I think sometimes he is finding it and sucking on it, but how is that a deep sleep? But a majority of the time he cries and we replace it. BTW he didn't sleep thru last night........
