Thanks for the dummy advice! I really had the same ideas and had no plans of taking it off him just yet. Then I began to wonder if it was something that I 'should' be doing now IYKWIM.
I think I will run with the big boys bedroom idea when Em turns 2. Unless I think he's ready before that of course. I am really excited about doing his big boy room. I have been researching lots of Thomas stuff. I am not sure if Thomas will date quickly though. And I was thinking that I should do a cars/trucks/trains theme instead??? So many decisions lol. Thomas would be easy as there is so much merchandise and he does adore it. My brother had a Thomas room for years as well!!!
Leanne Buggar about losing your post and having gastro! That sucks! I find that Em can be the same with his last poo for the day. It can be frustrating sometimes. New Years Eve we are going to a friends place for a pool party. Its going to be lovely as its meant to be 43 here :o There will be lots of kids there too which makes it so much easier and nicer! Your street party sounds lovely!
Christine OMG poor Riley! It does sound like he's coping quite well though. How long does his plaster have to be on for?
Kim Oh she sounds so sweet with her baby and pram. Em is the same - so adorable!! They have grown ever so much... it breaks my heart! Wow Darcy is tall hey? Em is still such a short arse lol! He's only 82 cms and his cousins who are younger are taller then him lol.
Sara Eeeek at that essay. It sounds like it would be hard. Good luck with it though. I haven't heard from Vic in ages and I believe she's no longer a member here at BB. I haven't been able to get in contact with her at all. :(

Well Em is still up and it is so so hot here. I have a headache and I'm tired from going to the gym and working today. I want a shower and bed lol. Go to sleep little man!! I have wife swap on and it looks like its gonna be a good one! Not that I watch it all the time or anything ;)

Bmr about Vic.
Well I think I am over holidays, dare I say it.
When we are both working we both pitch in with the house work, but now I am on hols, well it seems now it is my job. Does anyone else think that is unfair or am I being a little selfish. I guess I should say something to DH, but I don't want to cause waves.
Perhaps I need to organise a few days out and about, but there's really no cash for that. Just thinking out loud here.
Kaitlyn's routine is way out of whack. She won't go to sleep until nearly 11 these past few nights, and becuase I don't have to work the next day I am the one to settle her. Which is fine, but I am tired too. I've tried giving up her day sleep cause she is sleeping in until about 8:30 am, but she is way too feral if she does not have a least an hours' sleep during the day. grr what to do. I don't particularly want to wake her at the usual 6am just to keep the routine of her going to bed at 11 am and then 8.30 pm going. Any suggestions?

Dunno Leanne. Darcy's day sleeps are sometimes 2.5hours now - which was unheard of for her in the past. I wouldn't cut out the sleep though as the hyper excited they get when they are tired makes it harder at night, but that's just my opinion IYKWIM? I found the same with the housework when I was on Mat leave - even though I was struggling with my new tasks. I wish I had the answer for you hun :hug:
Can someone remind Santa next year that I would like toys that already come assembled please? I have put otgether in the last 2 days, a kitchen, a supermarket, a bed and a highchair.....arrrghhh! I am so not good at puzzles with asian instructions!!! lol.

Well Katy's gone down now. She really had no choice. I have 7 people coming for dinner tonight and I need to seriously get some things organised without my little shadow / helper following me around. :O) We just emptied the dishwasher and she likes to put her bowls , plates away in the cupboard herself, and it took nearly 25 minutes! So cute though, so grown up.

leanne - LOL at the playdoh in Katy's ear! Glad to hear that you are feeling better today, you poor thing having to clean up the poo. Archie doesn't have trouble with pooing at night time, but often he wont go to sleep during the day for hours if he hasn't had his poo. Your NYE sounds fantastic
christine - oh poor Riley! he must have really feel on it hard to break it! How long will he be in plaster for?
kim - gosh Darcy sounds like such a little character, wish i could have seen her in her hot pants and hair do.

sheree - i reckon just find out if you want to, my Daf was upset when we told him what the sex was cause he wanted a surprise, but bugger him, he had four surprises of his own! Glad to hear the ms is settling down and you are getting lots of zzzzz's

my terror of a child just pulled one of the transfers off her new chair. She got a table and two chair set from my parents for Christmas, and already she is pulling the flower transfers off. I am so angry at her. I can't believe it. It's only been how many days......5. grrrr needless to say she is now sitting in her room, reading a book.

Leanne...yes haven't they, it makes me sad. So is Kaitlyn, the little monkey still in reading a book. Isn't it so hard to teach them to look after things. When ever Phoebe is doing something she knows she shouldn't be doing, I ask her 'What are u doing', and her reply is a shy little 'nothing'...yeah right.

Katy's still reading her book..... But. she's had dinner with her aunty and uncle and great grandmother, and someone slipped her a Lindt chocolate ball at about 8pm (grrr) so that might have something to do with the fact that she is now BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS.......
Karen, yeah Katy knows exactly when she is doing something she's not supposed to cause she gives me the biggest grin (like in her ticker photo actually), as if to say.... no butter would not melt in my mouth mummy. She's so gorgeous but oh so cheeky. A bit (lot) like me really.....(cheeky that is).

Wishing you all a great New Years! We are just going to a friends place for BBQ and drinks, not sure how long Archie will be able to stay up for, probably will see the New Year in sitting on the couch watching the fireworks on telly as usual! Doesn't worry me though, the will be plenty of years to party it in in the future.
Archie has his first eye tooth almost throught he gum and gee is it annoying him, the drool is just amazing, ive never seen anything like it, its actually grossing him out, he keeps wiping at his chin going EEEEEEWWWW! Thank goodness for Panadol. i can't believe the weather here today, really windy and bloody hot! Not really looking forward to being outside at the BBQ this evening....

Leanne - Briley is a destructive one aswell. She will follow me around the house as i am cleaning and make a mess after me. DELIBERATELY!!!!! GRRRR! Her problem is when she is quiet i know she is into something! Like the other day, i had hidden a bottle of rum under my bed and forgotten abour it. Now either i did'nt do the lid up properly or she is houdinis granddaughter, but she tipped the WHOLE damn bottle out on my bedroom carpet. I could smell it for days! :wall: You gotta love em!

Hi to everyone else. Hope you are all well....
Briley woke up that many times lastnight we lost count. In the end she was in our bed at around 1.30am i think. We think she had a nightmare about the chooks cause she would not go back too sleep for ages and kept saying "Naughty chooks" and "Stupid chooks". She just kept going on and on about the damn chooks! So i think that might be what happened.
The night time wakes are getting worse. She wakes up at 12.30am everynight asking for a bottle. I am trying to cut the bottles all together but its not going to happen anytime soon as long as this goes on. Any advice????
Not much planned for NY's. Might go up to the local community hall to the Bush Dance! :cryinglaugh: Can't afford anything else plus i don't want to keep the girls out to all hours. Prefer to do something at home really.

Missy moo did not go down until after midnight after that Lindt ball and so I was surfing the net until all hours this morning. So, as only a mother could, I woke her at 7 this morning to try to break the cycle. She was not impressed!!!!!!

Well, I think I might have myself a little nap before tonight's festivities!

I don't believe one word of that heat Leanne lol. Oh and the ac will not blow up - mine has been on for three days straight now...it was 39 at 7 o'clock last night - this is bloody ridiculous. I let you know when mine blows so you can turn your off before it's too late.
Tell me someone else has no life and will be at home and probably in bed before midnight tonight???

sara - it must have been horrible having briley up constantly last night, but it is so funny and cute that she was going off at chooks!
shazz - i wish i was where you are, its bloody hot here and we can't handle the heat at all,
kim - Dont worry you're not the only lonely boring one this year, i am home with Archie in bed asleep....woohoo! Gosh how much does that kinda heat suck! I remember half way through pregnancy we lived in a second storey flat, new years eve we drove back home from Mount Gambier and the heat was ridiculous! We dragged our matress out in front of the air con and i stayed there for 3 days straight, the air con didn't get a break either. Hope your air con holds out for ya! Is there much more hot weather to come before you get a bit of a break??
Just got Arch to bed, i am sitting here sweating my ring off (wish that were actualy true!), had a nice BBQ tea at a friends place, one of the women there announced she is pregnant, she has an eight year old son so they are all thrilled, i am happy cause now i have someone to give my big baby items to!
Jay's master plan next year is to reno the house for the next few months then have it up for sale by April, fingers crossed it sells quickly!

Riley is fine, we took him to get the back slab redone today as it was too loose and filthy dirty!! He will get a full cast on Friday. He isn't bothered by it at all and doesn't seem to be in pain either which is good.

We had a few SIL's over & 2 nieces, was a pretty quiet night except when the nieces and i went out for a bit in SIL's car.... I let SIL know the streets she can no longer drive down hahaha
I have a headache now and going to bed...Hope you all had a great night....quiet or otherwise.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Well my New Year was spent alone in bed watching In the Womb on National Geographic!!! We did go into the Riverway early to show Briley the 9pm fireworks and all that. Then we were going to head down to the lookout near and place and watch all the fireworks in town. I though Brent's mum would watch the girls as they were asleep but no. I got left at home as per usual. So i brought in the new year alone.
Then to top it all off......Brent comes home and says he met the people across the road and they are having a party and could he go. Here is me. In bed. And not even an invatation of do i want to come aswell. I just said "whatever". And ofcourse he went. He reckoned he'd only have a few beers and be back. What time does he crawl in........4:30am!!!! :angry: Now he thinks he is going to lay in bed all day while i take care of the girls.
I just feel so left out lately. Like i am just that person at home who takes care of the house and kids. I hardly ever get any time to myself lately. It must be good to be able to just pi$$ off and get pi$$ed and come home when you please. Then sleep all day!

Well Lachlan made it to 11pm and we had to finally give in and take him home as he was falling down all the time and crying. So we read in bed till 11.45pm and had to give in also. So not a bad effort for me considering 8.30-9pm I am in bed these days.

sara - you are definately not the only one who fels that way about men being able to just do what they want when they want without having to worry about the kids, a friend and i were discussing that exact thing yesterday. Hope Briley's sleep settles down soon.

Arch woke up quite upset last night at 11:30, he has a bit of a cold plus teething, Jay was still out so i just put Archie in our bed and went to bed with him, just as well i did cause the neighbours were having a party and one of them had an air horn which kept scaring the cr@p out of him! He slept in til 7:30 which i was VERY impressed with.

Well I stumbled through the door from across the road at about 1/4 to 1 this morning. Many midori illusions and strawberry daquiri's later and I had a fantastic NYE.
I can't believe I am not even feeling sick.... Yee Haa
Kaitlyn was happy to stay up until about 12 when DH put her in bed.
One of the neighbours let some fireworks off at the end of our culdesac street - so all in all it was a pretty good night.
Next year girls all come to my house for our street party. It's always a civilised affair :)
