kim - poor Darcy, it must be horrible, i hope she comes good by the morning after a good sleep.
sara - No i haven't been walking, im so lazy atm, backinto a rut, u are right though i need to get out in the evening and just go for a walk, i know i will feel better for it, thanks for reminding me. I hope you have a wonderful trip away. LOL at the nuggets in your shoe!
leanne- YAY for finishing the quilt, well done, im sure your SIL will love it
sheree - bummer about the leaky roof. Our roff has been leaky for 2.5 months now, the roof tiler (of which there is only one!) is so busy that he hasn't managed to come by and look at out little problem so we have decided to get a payout from insurance and fix it ourselves, i just hope Jay and his friend know what they are doing....I can't believe you are nearly 15 weeks already, that is crazy, seem slike only last week you just found out!
Jay has gone to the Speedway tonight, which i am so glad about cause im not that into him today, today single motherhood was looking rather rosy LOL. Arch is in bed, poor thing it is so hot in his bedroom, but i think he has given in and gone to sleep, dont reckon he actually had a sleep today, stayed in bed for 1.5 hours but didn't seem to have slept, so he should bomb out now. I have a block of Snack chocolate and Knocked Up on DVD to watch, i here the couch calling....
-
Have a nice nite in Elissa.
Phew the rain has stopped for now, we had 2 x storm's this arvo. The cafe next door to our shop has been closed for over a week as their roof is leaking even worse then ours, the ceiling is all bowed where the water is coming in. The mine are waiting for the insurance people to approve b4 they get it fixed but the insurance company are trying to tell them the damage is not from that original bad storm we had but infact from years of damage. Stoopid really cause our insurance will now not pay up for any more damages of stock, so the mine will have to claim any more damages to our stock on their insurance, so the longer the insurance people hold out on the roof the bills are getting bigger and bigger. It is more the inconvenience for us, just so sick of all the clean up and ordering of new stock. Just all time consuming work. As if we don't have enuf to do!
-
gosh Sheree, what a huge headache for you guys! I hope they get it sorted out soon
-
Well I gave in when her temp was 39.1 at 7pm and went to the hospital. Of course she picked up as soon as we got there, and I can't believe I waited two and a half hours for them to tell me there's nothing wrong with her......
-
Kim I was told by a doctor once b4 that temps over 39 degrees are always virus related and not teeth. Lachlan's temps that high have been related to tonsilitis and ear infections. Hope she is better soon.
-
That's what I figured. They just assume teething too even though ti's never been scientifically linked AND Darcy has all her teeth - even the molars. At least I know that I guess.
-
Yeah she is def fighting something, hence the high temp.
I was so lucky, while we were on Holidays - lachlan was sick and we had 2 courses of antibiotics while we were away. He was gettting temps every night, but only in the mid to high 38's. I don't want to ever experience those 39 degree temps with convulsions again.
-
I'm sorry girls, I'm not whinging, I'm just telling someone cos I have noone to ring today so you're all it.
Darcy screamed, and I mean screamed from 3 until 8 this morning with only a couple of 20 minutes rest. Even between sips from a bottle. Like she was in real pain. She didn't want me to touch her either.
Finally at 8 I took her nappy off and she fell asleep. She only woke up at 11. Thank goodness I was exhausted to lol.
Temp seems to have broken for now fingers crossed, but i'll be giving her some panadol at 1 just to make sure....
-
Gosh Kim, you poor things. I wish they could tell you what was wrong hey.
-
kim - you poor thing, i would have ended up at the hospital too if i were you, it makes me really angry that the drs/nurses can't tell you anything other than shes teething, what a load of crap, poor little girl, i hope she is getting better now. big hugs
Archie was one excited boy today! Took him to supermarket to buy more dummies and he picked out a different type to usual cause it had a "neeh nah" on it (fire truck), he thinks his poo doesn't stink now LOL
-
Oh how cute Elissa - your Archie is so grown up.
-
Hah Elissa, that's cool. Isn't it amazing the things that amuse them? Darcy has carried around my weight watchers points book everywhere today. To the shop and everything. She even sits with it open in the car and 'reads' it lol.
Guess what? She's back in bed already. Put herself there too....
-
Oh poor Darcy. I know it may seem a bit dramastic but you should have called the Ambulance. At least then they could have seen that something actually WAS wrond. I hope she is feeling better. And that you both a have better sleep tonight.
Clever little Archie!
Well i am almost packed for tomorrow. Just running around now making sure i have everything. I dont want that feeling of "am i forgetting something" tomorrow morning!
-
We are packing too!
Where r u off too Sara.
-
Both of you drive safe and have a good week.
I had to disinfect the bath tonight, because Darcy, for the first time in her life did a poo in the bath! GROSS. I think that may have been why she was in pain, cos it was half runny yuk yuk yuk. She was so distressed about it too poor pet lol.
-
Sara , Sheree drive safe.
Kim - poor dear esp with a pooh in the bath. Hope Darcy's feeling better today.
Went and had a cuddle of my newlittle nephew today - I forget how small they start. and so so cute! Not that Katy is not cute now of course! He he
-
Ooh I almost forgot, got my christmas pressie off layby on Friday (new sewing machine after mine packed it in). Nearly finished a dress for Darcy already, though it's been a while since I read a pattern and I keep thinking I'm cleverer than I reall amm.
Hey Leanne, do you have an overlocker? If not what stich do you finish in? I've always used Mum's overlocker. Mine will come off Layby at the end of Feb but not sure what to use until then...
eta ps it's 9.15 at night and still 36.7 here - and I mowed the lawn this arvie
-
Leanne that quilt you made looks fantastic.
Ok this is me signing off, talk to you all in a week and hopefully with good news from the gyno.
-
oh kim hope darcy is feeling better and you've got some sleep i would have been jumping up and down i'll never be turned away from a hospital with my kids (specially one that tell you exactly what is wrong with them )with out some dam fine convincing that they will be fine a few months ago one of my bosses extended family lost a 2year old boy because the hospital misdiagnosed a twisted bowel and they were to late to help the poor little boy so high temp and screaming aren't always teething
sara i must have missed your post about going awol but have fun and safe trip
sheree hope all your appt go well and safe trip
Elissa awww how cute i'm loving this age the things they get up to it is amazing
well i have to go rescue both my boys Ryan and Dh that is they have both fallen asleep in the recliner but i have no idea how in heck i'm going to lift Ryan i've got siaticia (sp) really bad i go for a CT scan on tuesday but have been instructed no lifting or bending which is funny cause sitting here is like sitting on fire
-
Thanks Sheree!!! It's huge compared to little Lachlan, but he's got a lot of growing to do, so will get good use out of it!.
I don't have an overlocker, Kim, but I finish off with a zig zag stitch. Long zig zag but short stitch length. Hope that makes sense. Works well.
Well I am well and truly into this weight loss challenge. Even changed my ticker... LOL. Katy will have to give the ticker a miss for a little bit.. LOL.....
Shazz you poor thing with your sciatica. Wake hubby up and get him to help you lift Ryan. Take care of yourself.
-
woohoo leanne i have been trynign to do my ticker all day i just can't sit for that long
ETA i've done it like the rocket i need that rocket
-
Have a great trip Sheree, hope the gyno goes well. You have a great trip too Sara.
I hope your back improves Shazz, have you got good pain killers?? don't lift Ryan wake DH!!
Kim and Leanne- I admire your sewing abilities, I have none!! My mum could sew anything so i never learnt, when she died I gave her 4 thread overlocker to MIL cause she uses it.
-
Great new tickers girlies!! Love the rocket Shazz. I agree with the others too - wake DH up!! You poor love.
I have developed a new found love of marshmallows - cos I can have 4 for 1 point lol. Sad sad but I'm right in there too. I told my mum today so I was accountable for it.
-
4 you say for 1 point Hmmmmmmmm ok then off to the shops tomorrow
jodie sent me the ww calculator fantastic
thanks again jodie
-
Ok Girls, this is me signing of for the week aswell. I think i have everything packed. Still worrying that i am forgetting something though. Oh and if all the clothes i have packed with weigh more than 25kg's!
For those who don't know....I am off the Gold Coast for a week. I am up for a meeting if those who are down that way are willing to come on down!
Shazz - Ohh your poor thing. My back has never been the same since i had Briley. I was moving around on the bed tonight trying to feed Colby and i really hurt it. Mine is kinda like sciatica aswell. Prolly should get it checked out but don't have the cash for a chrio at the moment!
Sheree - Have a great time hun! Talk to you when we get back!
Kim - I hope Darcy is feeling better after that. Maybe she had a bout of food poisoning??? Or gastro??? Now that she did a poo she might be on the mend. Got it out of her system. The new sewing machine sounds great! I wish i knew how to sew let alone use a machine! Enjoy it hun!
Leanne - Wishing you all the best on your WL challenge!
Well i am off girls. Take Care of yourselves and i might be in sometime over the week if i get a chance.
Talk soon!
xxoo
-
Kim: Poor Darcy! How is she feeling now? I'd be taking her somewhere else to get a 2nd opinion, I know you don't have much choice where you are do you? I wouldn't be too worried about the food but not drinking and high temps don't sound too good.
Leanne: The quilt look fantastic!!
Sara/Sheree: Safe driving
Sara: The pregnancy is going great! I am really enjoying it so far, the M/S has pretty much stopped except when I am tired or hungry, I have only gained 1kg so far. I think I have felt a couple of movements.
Shazz: I have problems with my sciatica too, it started when I was PG with Jayden and plays up really bad if do too much. I'm a little worried how I'm going to handle the later stages of this pregnancy but I know someone who does accupuncture so I will give that a go. We used to go for walks along the beach every week when I was PG with Jayden by the last 6wks, I couldn't walk up a small sand dune without collapsing in pain....I don't want that happening this time.
I have my first scan today! I am so excited to the baby! I am taking SIL #1 and one of my nieces. Its Chris 1st day back at work so I didn't to ask him to take time off already. Well I'm off to get ready for work.
-
GL with the scan today Tania! How exciting.
-
kim - that is so funny that Darcy thought that the points book was so interesting that she had to take it out with her! Is she much better yet? eeeeew, we haven't had a poo in the bath yet, poor Darcy getting upet over it. Good on you for getting back into the sewing, i used to trya nd sew and make things but i would get so upset and frustrated at the old sewing machine as it always would chew up the thread, i should get back into it one day. I can't believe you mowed the lawn in those temperatures, thats keen!
sara - hapy packing, hope you didn't forget anything important, no doubt you will have forgotten something, i know i always do! Have a fantastic trip
leanne - oooo cluck cluck! and i haven't even seen him! Newborns are just so precious arent they. Good for you getting right into the weight loss thing, you go girl!
shazz - you poor thing! I really hope it gets fixed somehow very soon it must be SO painful
tania - YAY, you must be SO excited to see you little bub in there
sheree - have a wonderful time!
It is the most beautiful day here today, we went down to the Lakes and had a picnic and a play on the playground, it was gorgeous, Jay and Arch are both having a rest now so it is quiet me time, aaaahhhhhh
-
lets us know how your scan goes tania how exciting i'd love to be pg again as long as it was nothing like Ryan's pregnancy i'd be fine
-
Shazz- I just looked up potato scallops and they are 7 points each. I am fighting between pizza with the family for dinner or a lean cuisine ! Pizza is 4 points per slice for cheese lovers thin and crispy but i think the lean cuisine will fill me up more!!
-
HEY JODIE, .... A HUGE "THANKS" TO YOU FOR LETTING ME KNOW ABOUT THIS THREAD : )
:hello: HI LOVELY MUM'S MY NAME IS LORELLE .... AND MY DAUGHTER CENDRINE (a very old French name) WAS BORN ON FRIDAY THE 6TH OF MAY 2006 !!
... Yes, she turned 20mths yesterday !!!
She took us 2 and a half years to conceive. I might mention naturally and with the help of the wonderful herbal formula from The Ruth Sharkeys Healing Centre in QLD). I know it sounds like a plug for them but after they put my cycle back on track only after taking the formula for 4mths (which it hadn't been for over a decade - now that's a miracle within itself) and PRESTO 4mths later I was pregnant. So, a finger salute to my well-known Gyno and IVF specialist in Melb who said I couldn't fall pregnant any other way other than having to go through IVF.
I gave birth to Cendrine at the ripe young age of 40 (well, 40 + nearly 4mths to be almost exact, LOL). Naturally & drug free, ... um well, lets just say I didn't have time to, even if I wanted to (which wasn't in my plan) as she came FAST.
Contractions started at 9am (yeh, thought I had bad wind, ha). Sat on the dunny for ages ... Don't know why I just felt better doing so and occasionally went into the kitchen and gripped the chair and for some reason stomping my right foot (funny what you remember reading from books what people did when in labour).
My contractions were just getting closer between each other and faster than we expected. So, my partner Adam rang the hospital to ask if we could come in - That answer was "Oh, my god YES".
Getting to the car was another matter. I felt I couldn't make the 5mtr walk to the car as I truely thought I'm gonna give birth on the front lawn (and I'm not one to draw attention to myself) plus I still hadn't met the neighbours after moving to Ballarat from Melb and I figured this wouldn't be a lady like way with my legs in the air.
Now the sad part is when we did our antenatal classes they stressed to us that a labour usually goes for about 10 - 16hrs. So, you can imagine I thought I was in the first stage of labour in fact I was in my third stage. So, I was mentally trying to wrap my head around the pain in how was I going to do this for another 10plus hrs. I spoke to myself and said " You can do this Lorelle ... You show 'em girl".
Adam's only way to get me into the car was to speak to me like a solider in command and quite firmly. Keep in mind Adam is a softely and well spoken guy.
Well, it worked ... and off we were on our big 5minute trip to the hospital (after some light-hearted swearing about not being able to put the seat-belt around me). Told him on no conditions was he to stop no matter how bad I looked (and of course to only stop at red lights, we don't want any trouble with the police here as Adam was once mistaken for someone of the same name here who had a warrant on them. Yeh, that was a warm welcome to Ballarat with a Cop at your front door after doing a hard days work).
Well, without going through the rest of the story ... Upon arriving at the hospital the stranger in the lift was incouraging - She told me to let out a yell if need be and then proceeded to chitchat with Adam - augh, so annoying at the time.
When exiting the lift I let out a loud moan with a surprising look on a teenager boys face who was about to put a coin into a vending machine. Best sex education he probably ever got outside of school.
My midwife had to sit me in a public waiting area because the hospital was surprising busy with bubs being born.
I was so worried I was going to frighten some innocent child coming into that area to come and visit their Mummy and new sibling.
Finally I was given the only available labor room to give birth but mention to the midwife I wanted to sit on the toilet. She said that's fine, we have had plenty of births on toilets. As you can see I'm no romantic about where my bub was going to be born.
Anyway, somehow i ended up on my back in a single bed amongst a few loud moans and yelps I told Adam in the nicest way to "Please don't talk so much" (which is so ironic seeing I'm a chatter, if you hadn'y guessed) and a couple of big pushes and my daughter was born at 11.39am (only 39mins after arriving at the hospital).
I looked at the two midwives and seriously couldn't understand why no one was cheering or clapping.
That night i ran my older sister to say my newborn looked like she was born with a tupee (wig) as she had so much hair ( which is so funny as that's the industry I worked before I had her, fitting and shaping clients with wigs who were bald from either having had chemo, etc...)
.... Hope you enjoyed my birthing story, though I must admit I did leave out some other funny bits : ) ... So, sorry it's a long one. Yeh, promise my next messages won't be as long !!!
Like you JODIE my partner is a several years younger than I. He turned 30, two months before Cendrine was born.
Hey, LEANNE our babies were only born three days apart. So, you would have had a Mothers Day maybe the day before ??
All the best to all you Mum's, ... Please feel free to ask me anything about my Motherhood experience ... believe me I feel a lot was unsaid about being pregnant, giving birth and finally becoming a parent. I truely think my friends left out an awful lot which I would myself be open to discuss with anyone from my own experiences. I certainly have my own brazen opinions and am quite frank and of course love to put a humourous spin on things
-
Shazz, hope you're feeling a tad better today.
Woohoo Tania hope it was exciting!
Hi Lorelle!!! Welcome hun. I'm mum to Darcy (the Dragon). She was born 12 hours after Leanne's Katy at the same hossy (we were in antenatal class together - and still meet up). We live in the middle of no-where and my DH is away for 4 months...so I spend a bit too much time here somedays lol.
woops the Dragon's awake...already.
-
evening all
welcome Lorelle, i, shazz mum to Ryan born early on the 18 of April but i would miss these girls to much so stayed here in the may babies
Kim ~ no better actually i think i'm getting worse i have been having really bad nausea and headaches and diminished feeling in my legs so god only knows what the heck is going on I know i didn't hurt myself (this time )
hows Darcy ?
-
Welcome Lorelle! I like you already cause I am 40 and my DH is 33!!! I have 3 kids and contemplate a 4th but i don't think its going to happen. I love your birth story it made me laugh.
-
Hi Lorelle and welcome to May 06 babies. I am mum to Katy, who was born onthe Tuesday. My first mothers day was the following Sunday, which was spent in the hospital.
Thankx for sharing your birthing story. They say it get's quicker as you have more kids. So you'll have to set up camp on the hospital front lawn when you plan your next one. LOL! Did you go into shock.?
-
Hey there lovely ladies!
I've had such a busy weekend! I worked all day Saturday and Sunday and went out for a friends birthday Saturday night. I had such an awesome time! It was only the second time I have been out in the city lol (lame I know!) and I had so much fun! I didn't even have a hangover! I've also been working hard on this New Years Body Challenge, where I've seen quite a few of you as well.
I'll have a quick try at personals... I'm tired and want to go to bed soon lol.
Sara and Sheree I hope you both have a great time away! We will miss you.
Ellissa I hope you enjoyed your quiet time today.
Tania How did the scan go today?
Kim & Leanne I too envy the sewing skills! I am hopeless  and quite jealous of you!
Kim How is Darcy now? When do you get to see Cam again?
Lorelle LOVED the birth story. Very humourous and heart warming! Your daughters name is just gorgeous too. I have a feeling you're going to fit right in ;)
I am Nat, mum to Emerson born on the 18th May. I was induced for high blood pressure at 39 weeks and had a 5 hour labour with 40 minutes of pushing!
Mmmmm I just had saladas, philly and tomatoes - yummo! Prob not good at this time of night but when you're hungry, you're hungry! I suppose I should head to bed and have a slightly early-ish one. I want to get to the gym early tomorrow!
Ohhhhh how does the WW calculator work?? Love the weight loss tickers BTW!!!!
-
hi Lorelle! Lovedthe birth story, how exciting! Archie was born on 5th of May, 13 hour labour with 2.5 hours of pushing,no where near as exciting as Cendrine's birth! I really look forward to getting to know you.
Sorry guys can't post anymore, i can't keep my eyes open any longer......
-
.... Thanks so much ALL for making me feel so welcomed : )
Excuse any spelling errors ... I'm just a shocking typer more than a terrible speller (I promise)!!
Oh, what dummy I am LEANNE for some reason I though Mother's day in 2006 was the 8th ... Which I've course when I read your message I'd realised I had actually left the hospital on the Tues that you would have been giving birth. Strangely I remember the time was 3.15pm. Must have been just hanging to get out of the hospital (yeh, my private room was opposite to the kitchen ... And I kept hearing the microwave bell ... And for some funny reason I started to get cravings for hot cinnamon donuts everytime I heard that bell ring. Well, we won't mention the clinking of the cutlery coming from the kitchen and the staff greeting each other every morn at 6amish. Ha, gotta admit I knocked off a couple of teaspoons in revenge. Oh, ok they were the teaspoons I used to squeeze some breast milk on for my bub ... And I got sentimental about them !!).
Yeh Leanne, that sounds like a super idea .... Hope the weather next time (if there is a next time ... I gotta speed it up as I turn 42 next Mon (14th Jan) isn't crummy like the day I shuffled across that lawn back in 2006. Yes, I did go into shock. Felt weird, like looking down at someone elses body shaking as my head was just swarmed with lots of fuzzy and loving thoughts when I was busy holding my daughter.
Wow, ELISSA... Your Archie is one day older then my Cendrine !! I met an Archie last year in Oct, he was only a week old. And what a cutie.
SHAZZ, would you believe my daughter was born on her Uncle Ryan's 18th birthday. I met a gorgeous gal named Rian (my hairdresser's cousin) when my bub was about 4wks old ... Never heard of the name before and I reckon I would have considered it as a middle name if I had heard of it before my bub was born.
MRSMAC, how is the 40th year going ?? It was nothing like I expected, ... how's it been for you ??
I suddenly felt like I was clinging to the little youth I felt I had before I start hitting my 50's, AUGH !!!
Never thought of it like that before turning 40. I've gotta admit having my 1st bub at 40 made me feel young until I joined a Mum's group where everyone was from 19 to about early 30's. And everyone just never made an attempt to get to know me (and yes, I tried with them). Such an odd feeling as I have friends that are their same age group, and I'm so easy to approach and friendly if that. Felt so left out ... and just damn old. Got me down a bit. Stuck it out with the group as long as I could for my daughter's sake, purely because these Mum's were from our Heath centre group and my daughter had know them since a newborn. I take her to other activities but it's not quite the same when you have also watched these others bub's grow. I did the Mum's Group until Cendrine was about 18mths. I thought in the group there were too many chiefs and not enough indians. Felt like being in high school again. Too many controllers in the group ... So silly, and yeh I just felt too old for that rubbish !!
Spoke with my much younger friends about it (they don't have children) and they thought perhaps these Mum's just simply had not been around woman my age much and looked at me in a different light because of that ...WHAT DO YOU MUM'S THINK ???
I'm often told I look a ton younger than my now almost 42yrs but still look older than those Mum's in the group. Plus I did mention my age to them, though I don't think that made a difference.
Oh, I've left a long massive msg again ... When I promised I wouldn't, LOL : )
I'm a night owl ... Well, I'm off to bed ... GOOD NIGHT ALL, or as my daugher says - GOOD GITE : :bedtime:
-
.... KIM how lovely that you and Leanne have that special little bond between you. Your bub's being so close in age. Did you both get to know each other during the classes. Reason I ask is that a Mum named Melissa (she's now 31) I never spoke with her in the antenatal class but when I bumped into her when our bubs were a few months older. And now our daughter's (about 2mths apart) have a gorgeous friendship ... My daughter just squeals when she sees Melissa and especially her little daughter Hope : )
.... LEA, thank you so much for your kind comment. Yeh, not everyone will love our child's name and hey, that's fine.
but I will tell you gals another day how I came about her name. Prob will give you a tear or two... so, get the kleenex handy !!
NITE NITE (again) ... SWEET DREAMS MUMMY"S .... You ALL have made my day ... Huge thanks again :asleep:
-
**** Whoops so sorry NAT (not Lea) ... Yes, I will get these names right sooner rather than later !!!!
(... NAT, hope you don't mind my asking but how do find it being single. And I don't mean that in a negative way. I was single for quite sometime before I met Adam. And I've gotta admit I miss my own bedroom. I especially noticed it when I was lucky enough to travel to Sydney and stay in a great hotel with a king size bed last month on my own... and the plasma TV is another story) !! :asleep:
