i did a big post last night and the screen froze, so here i go again....
tania - OMG at your rough SIL, Jayden must be a confident little swimmer though. It feels great to not put on much weight during pregnancy, i was probably 5 kg overweight before i got pregnant and i didn't put on much either, i reckon i would have put on more pregnancy weight had i not been overweight to start off with.
kim - i rang parent helpline about Archies sleeping and a lovely woman gave me a routine to try that worked instantly. I would cook a peice of toast with marg and put it in his room and then gove him a bath. From the abthroom we would go straight to the bedroom so he didn't get stimulated by the telly in the lounge roo. He would get dressed then eat his toast. I would then get into bed with him and read 3 stories, then say goodnight and leave the room, 90% of the time he would go straight to sleep. Now it seems he has changed yet again and we need to tackle this a new way. Put him to bed an hour later than usual last night and he only cried out once so hopefully its just a case of him needing a later bedtime. LOL at Darcy telling you off for not using your manners, that girl is so full of spunk, i reckon your gonna have your hands full when shes a teenrager!
nat - well done on the shoe bargain! Oh gosh, boredom does nothing to motivate me either, its terrible.
eeeeeewww, 1 thing Archie will never be getting is a fish, they freak me out, i know im very strange.....the fighter fish do sound like an easy low maintenance pet though.
Oh my goodness Arhcie suddenly has huge attitude. He has started speaking (or yelling) in thisreally angry voice with this horrible look on his face, it surprises me cause i am always really calm when i tell him off i rarely use an angry voice or yell at him. Im hoping its just cause he is getting teeth through, but i have a sinking feeling that its just cause he is entering the terrible 2's, and i am scared!!!!
-
Nat: I would get the fish over a bird! I love birds, Jayden loves them even more but they are too messy! As Sheree said a little fighter fish would be great and low maintenance. Wel done on the bargins! I have very little motivation too, esp at work haha....You will be fine once you are back into your normal routine and back at uni.
Elissa: Jayden thinks he is a confident swimmer but he's not really that great haha. I took today off work because SIL#2 who does FDC is sick today (would have been 1st day back since before xmas too) and she suggested SIL#3 (who is the rough one in the pool) could look after him, I just said no I'll the day off as I thought if he went over there she would have him in the pool.
I changed Jayden's room around this morning and packed away some clothes that don't fit him and put clothes away in his wardrobe instead of the drawers under his change table....Nesting already perhaps?
Just got a text from my niece, she just got her license and she wants to go out to celebrate....Have a good day all.
-
Agggh terrible 2's already Elissa. Maybe boys start earlier. Well really they are only 4 mths away. How scarey is that! Lachlan has been hitting me lately, getting frustrated and angry. Ohhh boy what have we got ourselves in for.
Well I am exhausted today. Lachlan has had 2 bad day and night sleeps now. The night before last he woke 5 times until 1am and last night the last time I got up to him was 3.30am this morning and I lost count how many times before that. Must be teeth, his poos are mushy, but his gums appear ok and no fevers here either. I will be soooo glad when these teeth are all done. Lachlan is sooo not a good teether.....
Well off to bed for me.
Night.
-
tania - good choice on staying home. sure sounds like you are getting very excited about the arrival of your second beautiful bub.
sheree - glad im not the only one, yeah it is scarey to think that they are only just over 3 months away from being 2 years old! Hope Lachlan hurries up and gets those teeth through.
I have just spent 3.5 hours trying to get Archie down for a sleep!!! He was so tired but just wouldn't give in, he usually goes straight to sleep during the day, he just kept playing int he room really happily, but i was getting stressed cause Jay is on night shift so he is trying to sleep in the room next door and the walls are paper thin, and here is Archie singing songs and playing with his puppet as loud as can be. I ended up going in there and singing the lullaby that i used to sing for hours on end when he was tiny, as i was singing he grabbed my hand and stroked his forehead with it and shut his eyes, so sweet!
-
Oh how sweet Elissa. Yeah I wish these teeth would come thru soon, unlikely though knowing him. This could go on for weeks and months as it always does. Just when I felt like we were doing ok again!!!
Well I have had less movement then I did at 12-13 weeks and I have been starting to freak out. You would think it would get stronger and more consistent - not less and less and weaker and weaker. 2 weeks and bugger all movement. I have been convincing myself bubs is facing my back to get thru the last couple of weeks.
Anyway yesterday I ordered a doppler and should be here 2morrow in the post. I think bubs got scared of Mr Doppler man coming, cause I just got a definite jab - YAY!!!
I hope my worry and anxiety stops soon. I know after my 18 week scan I was heaps better with Lachlan. Hopefully this pregnancy is the same.
-
Hang in there Sheree - you're nealry half way! woohoo! I have been worrying about you and Sara all day. How's the water up there?
Exactyl what I was going to come and post Nat. A. I've got zero motivation for anything ATM and B> Darcy only let me get 3 hours sleep last night!...after I said how great she had been... My eyes are hanging out lol. I had to run a training day today and I could hardly think what I wanted to say....
Elissa that's similar to what I do, though Cam will be home in 2 weeks and the routine will no doubt change again. At the moment we have quiet time on my bed while she has a bottle then she hops into her bed. It's more comfy than the lounge, but with Cam home I guess that won't happen....he's going to have to learn how to tone it down.
-
Why can't kids just wake in the morning with a full set of teeth? LOL!
Poor little mite has a temp, the runs, enough drool to fill the dam, and grumpy and clingy as. Even daycare commented today that she's not herself. Might have to keep Katy home tomorrow. It's going to be hard not to go to work cause I love it so so much but I guess I'll get over it (!!!!!)
Better get back to my poor little crying sore hot teething almost two year old princess.
BBL for personals, if not tomorrow for sure.
Nite.
-
leanne that is shocking you'll have to stay home you poor thing lol but definately Katy needs her mummy at times like these
-
Hi girls,
I have been so slack with posting lately. I am so sorry.
Leanne - Oh poor Katey. I hope she is feeling better soon poor bubba girl. Oh and i can imagine how hard its going to be for you to have to be away from work. Don't be to sad about it hun!
Sheree - That is totally rude about your roof! Which insurance company are you with??? Maybe its time for a change!! I really hope they pull their fingers out soon and do something about that roof! I can't believe Fairbairn Dam is chockers! I've been and stayed at the cabins there once before and its a DAMN (:p) big dam!
I just posted and now i can't see what everyone else posted! :wall: I am that tired i feel drunk!! I think its time for bed.
HI TO EVERYONE ELSE!!! I AM SORRY I MISSED YOU! HOPE YOU ARE ALL WELL!
Be back in the morning to fix my mess!
Night girls!
-
Oh SHEREE!! I just read your post about feeling bubs move YAYYYYY!!!! Beautiful just beautiful!
Oh and before i forget. If you seriously wanted me to be there for you during your birth, should you go natural this time, i would be there in a flash hun. PLEASE REMEMBER THAT!!!!
Ok going to bed now....
-
home today - cr@p night. not much sleep. zombie like today.
hi sara
bbl
-
Oh Leanne sorry to hear that. Hope things improve for you soon. Poor Katey and poor you with no sleep. Mwah.
Sarah you are so sweet - thank you for the offer of coming to support my birth. Will have to see what happens I guess. And the roof is not our responsibility, it is the mines insurance and they are trying to say the roof was on its way out b4 the storm. So that is the hold up at present. They have dodgy fixed it for now, but the whole roof needs replacing sometime soon. Yeah I use to abseil off those walls at the fairburn dam they were that big and they are now overflowing with water. Unbeleivable. The fairburn dam is the 2nd biggest dam in qld, I think the burdekin is the biggest.
Well we are not flooded, had lots of rain however and the roads have been cut (so we haven't been able to get out of town) and with the IGA being taken over by foodworks in a couple of weeks and the IGA being told to run their stocks low (such bad timing around this wet weather), their is next to nothing left!!!! We can't get to Emerald as the roads are cut. Emerald are in such a bad way, people are being evacuated, shopping centres are full of water, gosh just terrible. We have even had sunshine the last couple of days, but today again it is overcast and the 4cast has predicted more rain coming our way. Great just what we need and just what Emerald needs NOT!!!
Did you all hear Heath Ledger is dead OMG!!!!!
-
I am in total and utter shock about Heath Ledger. What a terrible loss.
-
I heard this morning when I dropped Jayden off at FDC, it had only happened about 30mins before the breaking news! Bad news travels quickly doesn't it? I can't believe it, he was only 2mths older than me! His little girl won't remember him.....what a tragic loss!
-
Terrible terrible terrible about Heath Ledger... Can't believe it yet really.
I wonder what 'really' happened.
-
-
Okay over this whinging kid. She's been whinging all day non stop. Can't even go to the loo on my own..... I know I am whinging too, but at least you can understand me.... It's just whine whine whine all day.
grrr.
-
Leanne- send her over here!! I am used to whinging! (even if its only by me LOL)
I am going out wit MG tonight YAY no kids!! Erin, SIL and I went to see Enchanted today, it was such a nice movie, very light and feel good AND it had Patrick Dempsey!!!(although being a G movies not as much of him as SIL and I would have liked)
Sheree- hope the rain stops soon and you can get some supplies, the news footage of that area has been amazing, when we were there it was very dry.
Sara- welcome back!
Tania- can't believe how pg you are already!!
Got to go Riley has shoved something down his cast LOL
-
Leanne - Well my 2 girls have been angels all day. Right until Daddy walks in the door and now they are well....the devils children! One wants to be on to boob all the time and the other is walking around crying and asking for peese (cheese!). Wanna do a swap???
Christine - Have a ball hun! I had my night out with the girls last thursday night. It was great to be with other women who loved to talk about pregnancy and birth as much as i do!
Australia must have a curse. 3 Aussie celebrities in 2 years. Makes you wonder who is next!!! I'm still in shock.
I have my scan tomorrow. Bit nervous. Not real sure how to feel. Surely its nothing....
-
hi all
i'll be back later after burning off my dinner
-
Oh No Leanne.....
glad you're reasonably OK for the time being Sheree. Hope they get some food in soon though.
Shazz, you're doing way better than me this week.
Have a great night Christine!
-
i don't know kim though i just joined calorie king looks good so far only lost 200grams last week so i am hoping for a better run this week
-
My daughter ate her pooh, yep ate her pooh. I had to go to the dr this evening to get a new script and while my DH was on the phone my DD put her hand down the back of her nappy and ate her pooh. Sucked it dry and went for some more apparently. Gross. I can't believe it. Gross. Thankfully DH was quick enough to stop her going for more. Sorry TMI and it's gross.
So tomorrow I am off to the dentist to have a wisdom tooth extracted. There's this massive hole in it and it's bloody sore. So can't wait for that.
Anyway, going to get ready for work as I am working a 1/2 day tomorrow and then off to bed.
-
eeeeeeewwwwww that is gross but very funny (from sitting here anyway ) hope they sort your poor tooth out
-
Oh, what a shock when I popped on here ... I didn't know about Heath !!
... Then I mentioned it to DP and he is like yeh, it's on the front of the paper I brought home 2nite.
Gee, made me realise I truely don't watch & hear much news these days. Bit like when I use to wrk nite shift & felt so out of touch wt the world.
Goes, to show my year so far has bn so busy.
ELISA - That's so fantastic u r takin lil Archie 2 swimmin lessons. I was lookin at doin the same thing within the nxt mth (dependin on money situation, as our hot water system blew and then our new airconditioner had 2 get installed ... All within a mth, AUGH !!!) ... Let us kno how U AND Archie go.
My friend takes her nearly 2yr old (has bn 4 about 2mths now) and she said she jst LOVES IT !!!! :heartbeat:
... And she was surprised that she was actually the youngest in the group as she thought most Mum's take 'em earlier these days. Well, goes to show.
Will let U guys know wen I end up trying the ALDI "MAMIA" nappies. Wow, so many Mum's av come thru ravin about 'em. Gotta finish wt the huge amount of nappies I av stocked up at the moment. I use the COLES ones durin the day & HUGGIES at nite.
Hey, I gotta admit wen I've seen an ALDI it's usually in a not so G8 neighbourhood, PLS I don't mean that in a bad way. I've gotta travel 2 the not so super part of Ballarat 2 get 2 an ALDI. Infact another has jst opened here in a roughy area.
Not much 4 now girl's, ... BUT jst feel so sad for little Matilda 2 lose her Daddy Heath so young. It's close 2 hm 4 me as a little girl in the Mum's grp I ws goin 2 lost her Daddy 2 cancer only in Nov ... He ws only 25yrs & well known & well liked here in Ballarat.
Never 4get watchin that beautiful little girl being ushered into her own Daddy's funeral ... OMG jst broke my heart in a million pieces.
I popped a loveheart locket in her letterbox as a gift to the little girl from my daughter Cendrine. (Thought she could put a photo of HER Daddy in it).
It's so hard wen I run in2 her Mummy about town. But rather then askin how she is (I wld imagine she gets it all the time), I jst yak about funny little trival things & it gives her a smile (as she knows a joker by trait). B4 Xmas she looked so much better actually bn xcited about Xmas for her daughter. That ws so lovely 2 c her warm smile again.
Must go, ... Oh feel so teary rite now. :( Chat 2 U ALL soon lovely Mummy's
-
Lorelle: That is terrible! That poor little girl.....That sort of thing makes me so upset thinking that a child wont remember their mother or father. It actually used to make me cry the thought of me dying and Jayden not remembering who I am!
Leanne: EEEEEWWWWW! I was freaked out over seeing my dog eat his pooh! I hope DH washed her mouth out and brushed her teeth....Did you kiss her goodnight tonight? LOL. GL with your tooth tomorrow. Jayden saw your ticker of the turtle and absolutley went nuts! He loves turtles!
Christine: I know I can't believe how quickly its going! Thats why I didn't say anything too early, I did with Jayden and the pregnancy went forever! Jayden went nuts over your ticker too....He loves tractors even more than turtles LOL. Hows Riley's arm healing?
Sara: GL with your scan tomorrow...I'll be thinking of you...Everything will be fine I'm sure
Jayden has had a few nights in a row waking up again....Its a lot harder when pregnant to get out of bed at 2am!
Hi everyone else
I'm off to bed...nighty night
-
lorelle - i'll let you know how the swimming lessons go, the instructor said there wre 4 ohter babies in the class so far, so im guessing that Archie will be the oldest....will have to wait and see. It is trully tragic that little Matilda had lost her Daddy already, i think it really hits home when you have a similar aged child. Thats a lovely idea putting the locket in the little girls letter box, very thoughtful.
tania - i am struggling enough getting up to Archie allt he time and im not even pregnant, you must be exhausted!
sheree - big hugs, you are doing so well staying so positive and strong for your bub, im sure you are right, that bub was just facing the wrong way for a while, at least with the doppler your mind will be eased a little.
Don't know what to do with Archies sleeping. Tried putting him to bed later, no success. Am reading Robin barkers"the mighty toddler" she suggests dropping the day sleep and putting him to bed early instead, maybe i should give that a go...just not confident that my poor little guy could handle a whole day without a sleep. I am also a little concerned about his dummy now, in the book Robin says how toddlers are fine to have a dummy if they want to and it wont do any damaged UNLESS they are drinbbbling lots cause the way they suck their dummy all the time causes their muscles to not develope properly and theri tongue to thrust out too much. her description sounds exactly like Arch, unfortunate thing is that the only cure is to get rid of the dummy ASAP, that would mean just going cold turkey on the dummy, what a nightmare, i can't even get him to restrict the dummy to bedtime only cause it breaks his heart...its late so im probably just making things bigger than tey really are..
-
Elissa: I hope Archie goes to bed on time soon for you! WIth the dummy...its a tough habit to break as we are finding out. Jayden rarely has it during the day, but he does have days where he wants it constantly and thats fine he can have it as long as he is laying down resting. Now if he asks for his D-D he runs to his little couch, my room or his room and lays down because he knows he will get it and he isn't allowed up unti he gives his D-D back to me or under his pillow. I am starting to restrict it to just to his cot and he will lay in there and read books until he is ready to play without sooking. It was hard at first until he understood but that didn't take long he understands so much.
-
:hello: LEANNE, ... Hope all goes well wt U at the dentist. At least U shld start feeling beta sooner rather then later ... And that the tooth is finally out. *** Hey, the POO STORY gave me the biggest lauf :D
... Reminded me of a story of myslf that the whole family has bn reminding me of & haunting me wt for yrs - That wen I ws a toddler apparently I ws caught pickin up a bit of 'old hard' dog poo & about 2 munch in2 it until my Mum & older sister saw me wt it & they had 2 go 2 g8 lengths 2 probe my little fingers around it, 2 let go. And YES apparently I ws vry upset.
WELL, my lovely older sister decided 2 tell this story at my 40th b'day speech ... and she decided 2 stretch the truth & tell every1 I actually did eat it. ... OMG I ws absolutley HORRIFIED and not 2 mention 25wks pregnant & had a ton of friends & wrkmates there. Ah, and 2 make it worse NO ONE LAUGHED. Good on my younger sister stepped in & saved the nite about rambling on about somethin else. One b'day I won't 4get in a hurry. :cryinglaugh:
Wish me luck, I'm off 2 the GP midday 2day for results of my chest ultrasound. I have had a lump growin at an insane rate on my chest (not boob area), she doesn't seem 2 b concerned BUT then I had that wt a Doc yrs ago & found I had breast cancer. BUT it ws caught in time ... I ws the LUCKIEST GAL on the planet that yr (& every yr after) !!
Have a SUPER day ladies, ... I mite pop on later & c how U all r ;)
-
tania - im glad it didn't take long for Jayden to figure out that dummy was only for rest time. We went out to the playground all morning and he constantly asked for his 'money' but we just kept telling him that dummies are for bedtime only, he was actually really good. He is having a sleep now and was extremely relieved to find his dummies on his pillow!
lorelle - lol at the poo story!ur friends must have forgotten their sense of humour that day. GL with your scan results
leanne - Hope your mouth is feeling better soon. LOL at Katy eating her poo. When Arch was 10 months old he was staying at mums, mum was out of the room and Arch was in the nude, well, she walked into the room and there was poo all over the floor and smeared all over the door but none on his hands, reckon he must have licked them clean!!
Have been very strict with the dummy today, from hear on in its for sleep time only, he is coping well so far cause we have ben out and about and keeping busy. I feel so dumb for not realising that him drooling so much was because of his dummy! I used to put the dribble down to him having reflux al the time, but i can't put it down to that any more so it must be the dummy.
-
Good Luck today both Leanne and Lorelle....
that's really gross Leanne....
-
Tooth is out! And I did not need the sedation. Nice young dentist and a lovely nurse who stroked my forehead and held me tight while the dentist pulled the tooth out. I must say I am pretty proud of myself cause beforehand I said I would rather give birth than go to the dentist.
Katy's better today too. Back to her cheeky self, so all in all a good day. Just waiting for the numbness from the needle to subside, then I'll pop a few panadol and head off to bed.
Thank goodness that is over!
Hope you have all had a nice day.
L
-
Hope your appt went well today smiles4u.
Leanne - gosh your very brave, well done! and glad katy is better too.
Elissa - well I didn't realise a dummy would be the cause of drooling, so you have taught me something new, but in saying that didn't think it would be reflux either hehe. Hope he coped well for you today.
-
Can you believe some people. Heard on the news tonight that the people that had to leave their homes due to flood waters in Emerald (an hour away from us) have been ramsacked. Yep you heard me, some people went in and stole from the vacated homes. How disgusting is that. Those people with insurance that do not cover flood damages have also lost property and belongings now!!!! How rude is that!!!!
-
Evening ladies!
Well the scan results came back as fine! So i am pretty happy about that.
Sheree - OMG! That is terrible. Some ppl don't have a concious(sp??)
Leanne - EWWWWWW!!! Its bound to happen some time i suppose. Glad to hear that your tooth extraction did'nt go so bad! Not looking forward to the day when i have to get my wisdom teeth out!
Elissa - I am happy to report that i think we are self weaning here. Meaning i think Briley is weaning herself off the dummy. Still needs it to go to sleep though.
Lorelle - Hope everything went ok with you app.
Hi to everyone else.
Well i think i have 2 teething babies at the moment. I think Brileys bottom canines are coming through. She had a temp thismorning and was grizzly all day. Colby want to be stuck to me. She has been pulling at her ears today aswell. I thinking its either teething or ear infection. Keeping an eye on her.
Been up since 5am so am really tired.
Hope you are all well....
Take Care!
-
I am still here... kinda... lol
Will come back in tomorrow I hope. I've been out all day in town and at the Hi-5 Concert. Em loved it and adores his Jup Jup puppet. I however thought the pre-recorded mechanical performance was a bit of a let down.
Love to you all
-
Glad scans and teeth extractions went well today!
Hi to everyone else....Not up to personals tonight, so tired and my sciatic nerve is playing up heaps this week....nearly killing me tonight!
oxoxox

-
Mine started to play up too Tania a couple of nights ago, I was in so much pain. It has corrected itself for now thank god! Hope it doesn't come back. Wade's mum said she had that all pregnancy with her youngest son. Just terrible. Hope you feel better soon.
Sara - hope you get some rest today.
-
leanne - so glad that the dentist went well, good for you you are very brave!
sheree - that is terrrible! Hope karma comes and gets them wen they least expect it!
sara - so relieved the scan went well. Good for Briley weaning herself off the dummy, i reckon Arch was starting to as well but i am giving him a push along now. Hope the girls are feeling better tomorrow
nat - glad Em lovd the concert and his puppt. I thought Hi-5 would have been a live show, that sux that it was pretty weak, can i ask how much the tickets cost??
tania - oh no, you poor poor thing, i really hope it stops playing up soon
shazz - have great weekend!
Archie is going great without the dummy during the day, phew! Looks like we should be moved outta this awful place in April. A close friend of ours bought a house 6 months ago that we fell in love with, he has done lots of work to it and has just bought a new property that he is moving into in April. He has sat down and done his sums and has offered us the house at an amazing price, he wont make a single cent out of it, he is just covering his costs, what an amazing amazing person to be so generous. The house is in a nice neighbourhood, made out of limestone, has air con, 2 huge bedrooms, huge yard heaps of shedding, chook yard, vege garden, we are very excited and have our fingers crossed that the bank will lend us the money, im sure we wont have any probs though. Now we have to work on our house and hope some poor sucker will buy it! Our friend said if we haven't sold our house by April (which we wont have) we can move into his house and pay a really low rent til our house sells then we can buy his house, what a friend huh?!! Am thinking of taking Arch to the pool this arvo, that should tire him out so he sleeps tonight.
