    Unhappy Blood in poo??...Freaking out....

I just changed Isabelles nappy and there were little flecks of blood through her poo. Ive made an appointment to see our GP this arvo but just wondering if this is something to be worried about... the 3 hours til we go is really gonna drag..

Her temp is fine and shes happy and chatty as normal..Any reassurance would be great!..

    Are you breastfeeding?

Jake had this too in about 3 nappy changes. (I am breastfeeding) I asked the paediatrician about it at his 6 week check and he said that it is because I am eating some kind of dairy food that Jake is a bit tolerant to. At the time I was eating lots of cheese. I have cut back on that and he hasnt had any sense. He said that if it is streaky and looks a bit mucusy it is usually fine.

Try not to worry. If you are breastfeeding it is probably the same as what Jake had.

Rach75 - it wasnt solid - her poos are all kinda runny still.
Lukesmum - it was streaky and mucousy looking, I am breastfeeding and I have had a little more milk than i have in a few weeks for the past few days- heres hoping thats what it is.
She is happy as larry right now - so that at least is reassuring.
    Thanks so much ladies!

    Hi Tan

If she's happy and well looking, your nipples are intact, and she hasn't been constipated, then I would probably agree with lukesmum. Ive heard that if you have had a lot of dairy then it may cause that. Hope it stops soon!

How did you go at the DR Tan?

Took Izzy to the Dr yesterday - turns out she might have an anal fissure - bless her socks, and Ive been told to just watch her poo too see if there is anymore blood. The Dr gave me sample jars to send off to be tested if there is...so far there was only one tiny speck in two of her poos - not enough to send off - I can just imagine them saying - WTF there is nothing here but poo!
The other possiblities are that she is pushing out her poo fast and hard (um quite possible after her shot at me the other day!) or that she is constipated? Not sure she would be with soft runny poos though!??
Anyway all looking good so far - thank goodness, its such a huge relief - and thank you thank you thank you all for your replies!
