Hi Everyone!
Geez it is quiet in here! ALl those naughty babies not sleeping! Angus is exactly the same. ALthough he has never slept through, he has been abnormally grumpy and not sleeping well during the day either. I have a cold, so that doesn't help either cause I am tired and want to slepp, but by the time ANgus is asleep and I lay down he is awake again!
Lulu, do you believe I never did get to my pedicure, ANgus had a really bad morning and I couldn't leave him! So will have to go sometime soon cause my gf is 35 weeks preg and she wants some pampering before bub comes! Yeah, I had to laugh when he smiled at the nurse after his needles! She told me though the stranger awareness kicks in about 6mths so next time she said he will prob scream more - yay...!! I had similar feelings with my 2nd and 3rd bubs, hoiw could I possibly love them etc, but trust me everything will work out. I can't bear the thought of being apart from any of my kids, you don't love any less, you just have more love to share!
Tan, I hope Izzy is passing sleep school! I am too soft on ANgus and just feed him when he wakes up at night cause otherwise he screams the house down!!
Danni, I hope Mason is ok.
Kristen, I love your photos! Good luck with it all! I need to get family portraits done, shame your not closer!! Good luck with the pricing!
Anyway I better go! Have to tidy up and go to my Mum's. My eldest DD is at her Aunts having a sleepover so I have to go get her later. I s surprising how quiet the house is - and DD 3yr old has missed her so much!! Amazing cause all they normally do is fight! Angus is rollling wround the floor waiting for me to feed him too! He just got up caus he had breakfast in bed and slept in !
Take care everyone!

Michelle - I still have my massage voucher to use too - we really should go and spoil oursleves shouldnt we. Operation Sleep School - pfffft as if a 4 going on 5 month old will have a bar of that ;) What on earth was I thinking.....
Last night - bed at 7pm, up at 11 - feed, down to sleep, woke up at 12 - thought - mmm maybe still hungry feed again, back to bed, up at 1 screaming - held her hand (awww so cute now - at the time I was crying  )she fell asleep. Up at some time after that and I heard her but she must have cried just grizzled and my ear plugs held out and she must have fallen asleep - so did I, up at 5, feed, back to bed, 10 minutes later she was crying again, held her hand for one minute and she was out. Up at 730. What then heck is all that about????
How many hours are your bubbas feeding? Al wonders if I should go to 4 hourly during the day as thats what shes doing at night - but I feel like its too long? I was going to try 3 hourly - and yesterday we did for a few feeds but she still fussed about. Its all a bit beyond me right now - Im trying to go with the flow and funny how the sun shining in the morning makes it all better but I was crying in bed last night saying to Al - I just want ONE night/day off.... Typical male who has to work the next day slept though that... Ah well - new day - we'll see what today brings.
:hello: to all - have a great one!
-
Finally I get to pop on and say hi to everyone. Let's see how I go with personals :p
Danni - How is Mason? Why did you have to take him to emergency. Hope everything is okay. Not long now until sleep school.
Lulu - How fantastic that Izzy is starting to sleep through the night again for you. You must be utterly exhausted with Izzy waking up during the night and still in your first trimester. But you are nearly out of it so fingers crossed you loss your m/s soon too. I couldn't even imagine how you are feeling about being pg again but I know that you are going to be a great mum to Ned too. By the way I love how you got Ned. I had a great giggle.
Michelle - Bummer you missed out on your pedicure. You are your GF are definitely going to have to make time and go before her bubba comes along. How gorgeous that Angus is rolling around. They are just gorgeous and amazing to watch at the moment. Fingers crossed you are starting to get over your cold and that Angus is letting you grab some naps during the day.
Tan - I'm so sorry that your gorgeous girl is giving you grief overnight. They are little munchins. Are you still perserving with sleep school or just trying to ride it out? Isn't it simply gorgeous how they are holding our hands and discovering themselves? I was exactly like you a few weeks ago. I would just do anything for a full night of undisrupted sleep, even contemplate giving my first born. LOL!! I'm so glad that Al sleeps through Izzy's screaming overnight because Dave doesn't even stir and I thought he was just pretending so he didn't have to get up to her.
Kirsten - Hi petal. Fantastic news that Mia is settling back into her routine after her immunisations. I couldn't believe how badly they reacted to this set. Not looking forward to the next. Your photos are simply stunning but I really don't envy you having to set out a price list. The baby photographers around here are so rediciously overpriced that hardly anyone can afford to go to them. It costs about $65 - $70 for the sitting fee (that's ok) but the prints start at $200 for 3 5x7 and it just goes up and up and up. You'll have to pop your portfolio on Mia's website so we can have a squizz.
Sarah - How is that gorgeous little man of yours going? Still having trouble sleeping? Have you had orders on your invites? The first order would be so exciting.
:hello: to all the other mums and bubs. Hope you are all surviving this terrible period and all our good babies will be back soon. LOL!!!!
Well after a rough few days and nights where Olivia has decided that she didn't want to sleep she is finally starting to turn it around again. YAY!! For a few nights in a row she will sleep through with just needing settling once to having a night where she demands a feed. So I guess one night out of a few I can cope with no problems.
Our solids is coming along nicely. She is still playing with her cereal and fruit mixed together but she is actally starting to eat some not just spreading it around. I can't believe how far she can spread such a small amount of food. It's so cute but it is pretty gross at the same time.
It looks like we have picked our childcare centre. We looked at the 6 ones which do shift work and this one stood out by a mile. Two of them I wouldn't have let look after my dogs let alone my daughter. The floors where painted concrete and not one of the staff were smiling, even when we were itnroduced. The other one the out door area for the babies was a 2 x 3 metre bricked area. OMG!! The one she will be going to all the staff were laughing and joking chasing the kids around, they talked to Olivia not just us and heaps and heaps of other things that I loved but won't bore you with the details. I'm a lot more comfortable after looking at a few but I don't think it will stop me being a sook when I drop her off.
I better dash, Olivia is awake for her next feed.
Chat soon gorgeous mummies,

OMG AHHHHH!!!!
Everyone...i am SOOO sorry, i had subscribed to this thread so that i knew whenever there were new posts...BUT it never told me it had closed and started again :( So i thought no-one had posted and now im waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind :( I feel so left out! lol.
Anyway, i hope to catch up with everyone, and gradually i will try read back through the 5 pages of this thread! Blah, i've got my hands full! lol.
Anyways, i think Khai has started Teething now...Ah! Fevers, swollen gums, very unsettled at times, chewing on EVERYTHING. He had his 4month injects the other week...was crying big tears...very sad :( He is loving daycare every thursday...they say he is a very happy bubby :)
Ooooh ooooh, he made it into this compition, can you vote for him please?
Pascoe Pop Art Competition :: Enter our monthly Pop Art competition and have your photo turned into a pop art canvas for free ::
He is the 7th one down on the right :) You might recognise him (if you haven't already forgotten me! lol)
Hope everyone is well.
Love Steph and Khai

Sorry guys, if that link doesn't work, go to the 'competitions' part and he is the 7th down on the right. I am sooo excited :)
-
Dan - the child care centre you found sounds great. I really think your gut instinct when you're there is the best way to go with these things. I'm sure Olivia will have a great time there.
Steph - the teething thing is frustrating isn't it. Izzy had a couple of little teeth I could see through the top of her gum a week or so ago and now they're completely gone. It would be nice if they'd just hurry up and break through.
Not much happening here. I've still got terrible MS (which has the very definite advantage of DH having to change all of Izzy's pooey nappies!!!) so I'm hoping that leaves me soon. Izzy seems to be developing more and more every day. She's taking a huge interest in our food and when we eat so I'm thinking about maybe trying her on solids soon. Just been talking to a friend who says his 2.5 yr old eats almost nothing but natural yoghurt - refuses anything else. Soooooo not looking forward to those battles.

Hello!!
Once again, I'm so sorry its been so long between posts - I've been sooo busy lately and we keep going over our internet usage, so I've been staying off the computer a little more than usual. Must get that sorted out!!!
I still need to catch up on everything so I'm not even going to attempt personals - just thought I'd give you all a quick update on us - although I can't even remember when my last update was!! OK, just scanned through the posts and realise that my last update was when my friend was about to be induced!!! She had a little girl - 7lb, 4oz. Its all VERY exciting.
So.... we've taken Luke of the Zantac and I don't think its really affected him at all. He still has a bit of reflux but its nothing we can't handle atm. It really only bothers him sometimes, the rest of the time, its just a lot of spew to clean up but when it doesn't bother him, I don't mind!! So, we'll just see how he goes. As for the feeding - it's going GREAT!!! We're both so much happier now that he's taking formula. We're down to only one bf during the night. He's been waking at about 3am, so I'll do a bf then - the rest of the time he's taking a bottle. I'm still giving him one bottle during the day of ebm but my supplies are now running REALLY low - Luke's a little piggy - he's taking 220ml of emb, so I'm going through it rather quickly!! I think there's only a few more days of supply left. I'm also down to expressing only once a day, so thankfully, after a lot of pain, my boobs are settling down. I look like a freak atm though, one boob is pretty much dry (the bloody right one that Luke always refused - I'm not even offering it anymore), so it's really small and the other one, lefty, is still HUGE!! I'm all out of whack and it's embarrassing!! I think I'll stop the night bf soon and try and even my boobs out again - I was sooo hoping that Luke would magically start sleeping through the night and thats how we'd stop the bf but I don't see that happening in the near future.
Wow, this is turning into another long one - sorry guys, I get really carried away - just have a few more things to get off my chest!!
Luke sleeping has been pretty good - he usually feeds between 6.30pm and 7.30pm and is in bed anywhere between 7pm and 9pm - depending on his mood. I let him dictate when its bed time now, which is working much better than fighting him to go to sleep, if he's not ready, we just lay him on the floor for a while to let him get it all out. Then if he wakes before 2.30pm, I'll just put the dummy back in and he'll usually go back to sleep - after 2.30pm, I'll feed him. The last couple of nights he's only woken once for the feed at about 3pm. I can't wait for him to sleep a bit longer for me!!
Anyway, I'd better let you all get back to your busy lives.

Hi everyone,
Kelly - great to hear that things are getting better. That's exciting about your friends having a little girl! I'm sure you are looking forward to spending time together with your little ones.
Lulu - sorry to hear the morning sickness is still hanging around. I hope it disappears soon. You must be exhausted. It will all be worth it when you are holding ned in your arms. I am sure that you will have more love to give.
Dan - the childcare centre sounds great. It is interesting how much you can pick up just from visiting there. The staff sounds lovely.
Tan - Julian is on 4 hourly feeds now. He wasn't interested in 3 hour feeds anymore, wasn't hungry as much. I gradually increased the distance between feeds by 15 minutes difference each day so by the end of the week he was 4 hourly. Sorry to hear you were upset. I really hope he sleeps through soon so you get your break. You deserve it. Can you get Al to do a nightshift on the weekend so that you can get some rest?
Danni - I hope that Mason is OK. What was wrong?
Kristen - I went to a different GP from the one we usually go to and she explained that the rashes that he gets are exzema and that they will come and go. I got a factsheet from the doctor and those spots you described are where they get it. Hopefully it disappears by the time they are 18 months. Our normal GP prescribed creams but never explained it was exzema!
Maybe you could get it checked out by your GP? I found the info to be very helpful. I had been using the johnson and johnson bath product only a tiny bit but that was enough to flare up the exzema. I now use Alpha keri wash and it has calmed down alot. Moisturising with sorbolene has helped too. Apparently bubbas with exzema have to be introduced to solids carefully and it is advised to be after 6 months as they can have allergic reactions.
Hi to everyone else. The weather here in Sydney yesterday was crazy. It went from 33 degrees to 20 degrees in one hour. Then during the night it then went to 14 degrees. We went out for our 2nd wedding anniversary last night and then took bubba home in that weather after such a warm day and he now has the sniffles. I am really hoping that it doesn't develop into a full blown cold. He's had two already. We had a good time out but gee I was tired when we got home.
Julian is now on one formula feed per day and the rest breastfeeds. Surprisingly I was quite emotional when he had it after 30 minutes of protesting he then sucked it down. Pat thought I was crazy to be shedding a tear over it! It gives so much freedom just giving one feed formula, I should have done it awhile ago! He seems to have put on weight in the short space of time he's been on the formula. He was looking abit skinny which prompted me to start it.
Pat is going away for a work conference on Wednesday and back on Friday. I hope Julian doesn't get sick as I am dreading looking after him sick on my own. It's going to be Pat's first time away from us and I'm going to miss him so much. Julian's christening is in a few weeks and I managed to find a dress.
That's it from me! Are any of you ladies from Sydney?
Have a great week!

Good afternoon ladies,
A really quick post from me today but I promise to catch up properly soon. We only got home from Melbourne yesterday and our house looks like a bomb has gone off in it but I'm so exhausted I'm struggling to do anything except have cat naps.
Well my little sisters wedding was really good. She looked absolutely beautiful and we didn't look too bad either. Our dresses were really nice but so uncomfortable and we bloody froze. Olivia was an angel and so well behaved. She was completely exhausted when we got home yesterday afternoon that she slept from 4pm to 5.30am :o. I tried to give her two feeds but she just wouldn't suck until this morning. OMG my bb's were absolutely huge and pounding and of course I had no idea when she was going to wake up so I didn't want to express and then I fell asleep.
Most exciting news is that I'm going to be an aunty again!!! My brother and SIL are 8 weeks pg. I'm so excited I just can't wait for June. It seems so far away.
A quick question ladies. Has anyone gotten AF yet? I'm starting to think about when I'm going to get it back, if it will come before I finished b/f because I'm really curious about how my body is going to react after being pg and whether it will help sort out my ovaries. Dave and I are starting to think about when we want #2 and I'm starting to worry that we are going to have big problems because of my PCOS. Basically I want to know how is going to happen with my cycles so I'm curious whether I haven't gotten AF because of b/f or because of my PCOS. Any ideas ladies?
Danni - How did your short stay at sleep school go? Any good tips? How is Mason going with sleeping?
Jan - Fantastic to hear from you again.
Tan - I've just read your post about spacing out Izzy's feeds. Livvy has gone to roughly 3 1/2 to 4 hours between feeds with cereal and pureed fruit after her breakfast and dinner b/f. What have you decided to do?
Livvy has just starting screaming so I'll be back soon to finish up.
-
Dan – I’m glad you sisters wedding went well – nothing better than a good wedding! I’m going dress shopping with my girlfriend this weekend as we have a wedding on the 1st December and OI think it will take me that long to find something that’s fits me and looks good plus is feeding friendly!! You will have to post some pics hun! I can’t believe Livvy slept so long – she must have been tired – poor poppet! The child care centre that you decided on sounds really nice hun and you have every right to sook even though you know they will take great care of your girl. I think I will sook leaving her with my mum.
No sure about AF hun – I’m feeding so frequently and have no idea when it will come back. Izzy’s upper limit is 3 hours unless we are out and she’s distracted in the car or pram. She has eczema so I really have to be careful about what I give her and am going to definitely hold out til she is 6 months, as she is a higher risk of allergies etc Will see how we go. Hope you can get a good rest tonight hun!
Jan – Izzy has eczema too – poor things, I’m going to go see the GP later this week if I can (I’m car less right now) but I have a feeling he will just suggest what I’m doing already. Hope your time without Pat at home flies by hun and fingers crossed that Julian doesn’t get sick! Yay for his Christening, I’m just about to work out dates for Isabelle’s dedication service too. I’m thinking late November before the silly season rush! I’m trying to get Izzy to take a bottle but she refuses it right now – also because of all the changes in her routine I haven’t really tried again this week, so will have to give it a go again soon. I’m in Melbourne
Kelly- You sound so happy hun! Wow at 220mLs!! Glad your bbs have settled a bit hopefully our left one dries out quickly too hun. What time is Luke’s last nap before you put him down for the night? I sometimes wish Izzy would take a dummy – I told Al tonight that if she wakes early again tonight I will try to settle her without feeding her and see how we go.
Lulu – I hope your ms passes very soon but at least you have the upshot of delegating nappy duty. Isn’t it amazing how these little bubbas are growing so fast!!! Izzy rolled from tummy to back today – accidentally but I told Al and he stuck out his lip all upset because he missed out on seeing it – poor thing. She has found her toes too – pretty funny I keep her feet free all day now so she can grab them and play with them!
Izzy watches us eating a bit too at times –but I’m really hesitant to start her early because of her eczema so I’m just going to wait I think.
Steph – I voted for your pic!! Khai is sooo gorgeous! :hugs: teething isn’t much fun – Izzy’s teeth are moving around a bit – but nothing has broken through just yet. I’m looking into Amber teething necklaces – my mum’s friend swears by then as a natural drug free alternative and their daughter teethed all her teeth ;) with no worries so it’s worth investigating. Just google amber teething necklace if you are interested.
Danni I hope Mason is feeling better and you are able to implement some stuff from sleep school hun
Sarah- how are the Chrissy designs going hun? Will have to check them all out! Big hugs to Noah for me! Swimming lessons look great fun and I love that close up pic!
Kristen – A bit late – but your pics are gorgeous hun! Have you worked anything else out to start doing it professionally?? Are you going to the expo? Imp going with a gf who is pg on the Friday afternoon if you are interested in meeting up! Let me know and we can do coffee or something!
Well we are still all over the place with our sleeping and feeding , although feeding was a bit better today, 3 hourly – there is no way she will go longer than that right now. She went to bed at 7 grizzled at 830 so I went in and settled her so am thinking I might try that when she wakes up at around 11. She seems to be waking hourly at night again (back to newborn mode for us) and still wont settle without feeding during the day, but I’m going to keep persisting – thing is after 30 minutes of trying I tend to give in and feed her just because we are both exhausted from her crying . I figure she wont be so small and needy forever and once she starts solids I bet it all changes again.
We sold Al’s car and so are now looking for a Subaru – either Forester or Impreza so that’s been fun – car hunting all weekend! I told Al to go with a mate this weekend and I will go dress shopping! If he finds something worth making an offer on I can check it out later!
Well ladies I need bed – catch you all soon!
-
Tried to edit but it took too long! I meant to say 4 hourly not hourly feeding at night!! and also
a big :hello: to everyone I missed!!
-
Hey everyone,
sorry I've been MIA, Blake has an ear infection and his teething is a nightmare, so I've been trying to fit in as much sleep as possible. He is up 2-3 hourly at night and only naps for maybe 45 mins at a time 2 times a day, so I am absolutely stuffed. DH is working night shift also, so I'm not getting any help which is making me go crazy.
On a lighter note, I bought my first MCN's today, hooray!
-
:hugs: Ash poor Blakey - not sure if you saw my previous post but Im thinking of gettting an Amber teething necklace for Izzy - I know people who swear by it as a drug free pain relief for bubs. Just google amberbebe.
-
Thanks Tan I'll go check it out :)
-
Hello!!
Well, I definitely spoke too soon in my last post - Luke's sleeping has taken a terrible turn over the last three nights!!! What's happening to our little angels??
I think I'll attempt some personals first though....
Tan - Yep, I'm definitely much happier now that we've got Luke's feeding sorted out. I've gone two days without a bf now and although its really sad, we're so much happier for it. I was going to keep up the midnight bf but I'm sick of looking like a freak with one massive boob and one tiny one (especially with summer coming up) - so I've decided it's time to stop completely (although he's still getting one feed of ebm a day). Luke will normally go down for his last nap at about 4.30pm but its a bit all over the place still and his sleeping has gotten worse again, so I have no idea what to do - its definitely the hardest one though, coz if he goes down much earlier he gets tired before his last feed is due and if he goes down later, we have trouble getting him to bed before 9pm!!! Its crazy!! I can't work it all out!! Oh and I've got a Subaru Forester - definitely recommend it - it's fantastic!!! I just love it.
Ashlee - I hope Blake's ear infection sorts itself out pretty quickly - not nice!!! Luke has been terrible the last few nights too - I'm starting to wonder if it's his teeth bothering him too - who knows!! Take care.
Dan - So glad your sisters wedding went well!! As for AF, I've been wondering about that too, now that I've finished bf and all!!!?? I was reading somewhere that its fairly common to start again about 5 months after birth, regardless of feeding?? Who knows, I think everyone is different. One of my friends didn't get it until she completely finished feeding - about 18 months after birth.
Jan - I hope all is going well!! My DH is away at the moment too - just for two nights and I hate it aswell. He's back tomorrow night - I can't wait!!!
Lulu - How the MS going?? I hope its starting to improve for you!
Well, that's about all I have the energy for - big hello's to everyone else though.
Sooo... Luke is waking every two hours or so at night now!! I'm still only feeding him the once at about 2am and just settling the other 4 or 5 times!!! He usually goes straight back to sleep but will wake and hour or two later - its sooo frustrating. I just need some decent sleep!!! Now that he's completely on the bottle, I'm contemplating leaving him with my Mum for a night to get some sleep but DH isn't too keen. He's away again soon, so maybe I'll do it then. Its really taking it out of me. I thought they were supposed to be able to sleep through without a feed by now - Luke is sooo hungry still at 2am - he takes the whole 250ml of formula!!! It's mad - but then by morning, he only takes half a feed - I just can't work it out. He's feeding four hourly atm but I'm going to try and feed him 3 hourly today and see if that helps!! I don't know what else to do. His day sleeps have improved though, so at least I'm getting things done - might have to try and get some sleep myself during the day again though.
Take care.

Kell-Thanks heaps hun, once he had one ear infection he's going to be prone for the rest of his life dammit! I think maybe leaving Luke with your mum for a day/night might do you the world of good.
Has anyone else left their little monster overnight? I've left Blake with mum probably 6 times (I've had weddings etc to go too, no kids allowed etc) and seriously, an uninterrupted nights sleep (even if you have been out that night) does you the world of good. I'm not saying everyone should go drop their babie's off at Grandmas and go wild, but I think letting them get used to another environment early is a good idea, so when you need to go out, they won't be completely unsettled. JMO of course :) Blake ALWAYS sleeps well at mum's (with the exception of last time, he was up 4 times, so I felt a bit less like crap lol).
-
Ash -Im dying to leave Izzy for a night as much as I love her ;)- my mum has had the cot ready since I was about 25 weeks pg!! Just gotta get this girl to take a damn bottle -off to get the Tommee Tippee today to see how we go!!
-
Good idea hun, I think they're excellent and I hope it works out for you.
Blake resettled himself after I turned on his FP Aquarium, yay!
-
Ashlee - Yeah, I definitely need to get a good nights sleep!!! I haven't left Luke for a whole night yet, just half the night!!! I have stayed a whole night at Mums a couple of times though, when I had mastitis and DH was away - so I know Luke sleeps well in her portacot. Plus, Luke has had MANY day sleeps over there, so I think he'll be fine!! We're going out this Saturday night but because DH is away atm, he doesn't want to leave Luke for the whole night!!! Damn it. At least I know we won't have a late one though - don't think I could handle it!!!
Well, Luke's day sleeps today are going extremely well - he had over an hour this morning and is down again now!! He went down without too much of a fuss too - had a little cry and I had to go and put the dummy back in once but as soon as the dummy went in, he was out!!! I'm starting to think the day sleeps are affecting his night sleep - he was much better when he didn't sleep much during the day!!!
OMG - I can't believe I forgot to mention before that Luke rolled over for the first time yesterday!!! He rolled from his back onto his tummy!!! He's been sooooo close for about three weeks and was getting right up on his side, but just couldn't get over his shoulder, then yesterday, he just popped over, it was amazing!!! He did it twice yesterday but hasn't done it again today yet!!! Its soo funny though, about three weeks ago, he rolled from his tummy to his back quite a few times but now he won't do it anymore!!! Weird.
Anyway, better go get some housework done, this place is a mess!!!
Kelly xxx
-
Kelly, Blake won't rolld front to back anymore either LOL he can roll back to front with ease, but gets frustrated and won't roll back. Funny how that works :)
-
Quick one here - painting Izzy's mermaid - but had to tell you all she went to sleep just now without a feed!! Whoo hooo! Took bit of settling -she started the red face tears hysterical cry so got her up and rocked her and sang a lullaby - she was bright eyed and kicking her legs and the whole time Im thinking - man there is NO way she will fall asleep - so I lay her back down and walk out and shes asleep!! Just a start but hopefully a good one!
Kelly and Ash - Izzy rolled from tummy to back about a month ago and hadnt done it again til yesterday - back to front - she only gets to her side and gets lazy so i tend to give her a little push every now and again! Im sure she will work it out eventually!
-
Izzy's not rolling at all anymore - she goes up on her side quite a bit but that's it. She still spits it big time if I put her on her tummy so I think that's slowing her progress down a bit. Oh well. She'll get there in the end.
Ash - Good on you for leaving Blake with your mum overnight. I'm so hopeless. I've been out 4 times without Izzy, and the longest was 4 hours. We went to a concert and I spent the entire second half watching my watch wondering when it would finish so I could get home to her. I don't think I'll be ready to leave her overnight for ages yet. We've stayed overnight at my mum's a few times now but Izzy still sleeps in my room with me. I'm really lucky though - Izzy goes down for the night by 8pm at the very latest and is back to sleeping either right through, or only waking once for a feed and because DH and I alternate getting up for her, I have every second night where I don't have to get out of bed at all. Not sure how you BF ladies are coping still doing it all on your own.
Kelly - yay for you and Luke. So thrilled to hear you're both so much happier now. I do not want to start any arguments here, but did you read the article in the West a week or so ago about the dangers they are now saying BF can have to bubbies with allergy/ezcema suffering mummies and daddies? I think it just goes to prove yet again that there is no one rule that suits every bub and every mum and what the supposed experts say this week is the "only" thing to do is bound to be the very worst thing you can do next week. We all need to do what makes us and our own baby happy and that is the best thing. Makes it so hard for mummies though when there are so many conflicting views on twhat the best thing we should be doing for our bubbies is.
-
Tan-That's how we got Blake rolling, a soft push won't hurt her lol! We put Blake on his back, and within 10 seconds he is on his tummy, little nutter!
Lulu-Lucky you! My DH does Friday and Saturday's for the most part, but he's been working night shift so I'm not geting much time off at all. I should be in bed now in case Blake wakes up, he's been down 3.5 hours which is the longest in almost a week, fingers crossed it lasts!

OMG Lulu - I'm sooo jealous, although now that you're growing a little brother or sister for Izzy, you definitely need all that sleep!!!! I've told DH that as soon as he's on holidays (from studying for his MBA), he's going to have to do the odd feed at night over the weekend. I'm dying to get a good nights sleep and now that it is actually possible and my boobs don't hurt, its driving me mad!!!!
Ash - The new pics of Blake are just gorgeous!!!
Tan - Luke was rolling onto his side for about three weeks before he actually got up on his tummy - I was giving him a little push too, just to show him how to do it and it eventually worked!!! However, he hasn't done it again since. He doesn't like him tummy all that much either though and is much happier on his back, so I think that's stopping him too!!!
Well, he slept a little bit better last night but still not great. I was up about 3times and just the one feed at 3am. I'm having trouble getting back to sleep though after that feed, its sooo frustrating!!! Anyway, must get going, have Mothers Group today, then am heading to my Mum's for dinner. DH is back from Melb tonight - so we're heading to the airport after dinner at mums to get him!! Yay, although I just hope it doesn't mess up Luke's sleeping even more. Not to worry, getting daddy from the airport is sooo much more important!!!!
Take care.

Kelly-Have fun picking your hubby up, I hope Luke sleeps well tonight for you :) I was just looking at Luke's pics, far out he is soooo flipping adorable. Can I ask where you got his sunnies from? Blake hates the sun getting in his eyes, and I've been searching high and low for ones like that! Does he pull them off or is he ok with them being on?

hey guys i'm alive...but only just.
Mason is being very very challenging and refusing to sleep/ He is screaming the house down right now.
I will pop in soon xx

Hi everyone,
Sorry I'm MIA at the moment but I'm alternating between:cry: and :wall: with Olivia not sleeping. I'm back to having a newborn and having absolutely no idea what to do. She just will not sleep overnight. I'm back to having 3 x 2 hours sleeps again and it's doing my head in.
It's just so frustrating. I have no idea what to do anymore. I'm completely lost and of course what am I doing? That's right taking it out on poor Dave  :wall:.
I really wonder why he is still with me sometimes.
I'm off to call the sleep school to see if I can get any tips.
Sorry for the selfish post. Hope everyone is well and I'll pop back on soon when I've got Livvy a little sorted out.
Chat soon guys,
Luv an exhausted Dan.

i hear ya darling :( Hope the sleep school can help you out a bit.
Im also taking it out on DH too :(
-
Dan - Im the same, up 3 times to settle the cheeky brat - as soon as I put her down she screams :( I have never had to settle her before so I feel like Im in newborn mode too. :hugs: Gotta go - BBL - we got a new car today!! 2005 Forester!

I'm in the same boat ladies, I think most of us are. Must be something that happens with teething/around this age in general it seems.
I just realised, Blake is 6 months old next Sunday *OMG*
-
Its been up and down for us lately too. Luke went through a terrible phase where he wouldn't settle either - there was lots of bouncing and rocking him to sleep in our arms, which we've NEVER had to do before!! But, he's settling really well again now, he's just waking up so many times in the night and his 2am feed is a good one - he takes the whole 250ml bottle - so I don't think he'll ever sleep through, he obviously needs the extra feed then!! Who knows but I'm also settling him about 4 times throughout the night, so I'm lucky to get a 3 or 4 hour sleep. Then, I have trouble getting back to sleep, which is really frustrating. Anyway, it could be worse so I can't complain.
I think we all need a big group hug!!!!
Ash - I got the sunnies from Pumpkin Patch and we haven't had Luke in them all that much but when we have he doesn't seem to mind them!! The strap is really good and I just love them!! I was looking everywhere too and nearly bought some cheap Big W ones but now I'm glad I waited and got the more expensive ones with the strap!! They have some good ones at the Cancer Council too, I just didn't have a chance to get out there!!
Well, DH's plane has been delayed :( NOT HAPPY as I really wanted to go out to the airport with Luke. Don't know what we'll do now as its not due in until 11.35pm but they're waiting on a part for the plane, so it will probably be later - soooo don't like the sound of that. Worst thing is he was supposed to be back home tomorrow and changed his flight so he could get home earlier and now he's stuck at the airport - poor darling. It just sucks. So I'm not happy!!
Take care everyone!

Sorry to hear so many of you are having a hard trot at the moment. These bubba's certainly keep us on our toes. Julian ended up getting sick, poor little thing. I feel terrible that this is his 3rd bout of illness in 5 months and somehow feel responsible for it. His first night of being sick he woke at 3am but since then he is sleeping through again thankfully. I pop him in his cot at 7:30pm to sleep and I do a dream feed at around 10:30pm and then he wakes up at 7am. He has two naps a day of 1.5-2 hours each and a quick cat nap at 5 o'clock. I followed the baby whisperer book and so far it has worked for me. I'd be lost without it, it seems to have advice for everything.
I hope your bubba's start sleeping through for you soon as it is very hard being sleep deprived. Take care xox

I feel so guilty hearing all your girls having such awful nights with your bubbies. Izzy has patches of being diabolical, but generally she is just so good.
Dan - I really hope sleep school gives you some answers so you can get some much needed rest. I wouldn't worry too much about your DH. I'm sure he understands at least to some extent how hard this mummy gig is, and how bad sleep deprivation is. So long as you remember to acknowledge to him that you're being a crabby cow, he'll be fine. You're doing a beautiful job raising his princess!
Tan - how exciting. A new car. They look really lovely. Izzy won't know herself in her new princess carriage! Did you get a Tommee Tippee bottle? If yes, did Izzy like it?
Jan - boo for Julian getting sick. Provided you're not leaving him on the side of a mountain at night, I'm sure its not your fault. I have a friend who takes such brilliant care of her little girl, and yet if there is something going around, the poor little thing gets it. She's 18 months old and I've lost track of the amount of times she's had really bad gastro. I haven't read the baby whisperer's book but I saw her giving a talk at the baby expo here. She seemed really good and I really liked the way she looked at things.
Danni - sorry to hear that sleep school didn't give you a magic cure. Hopefully its just a stage for Mason and he'll find those long night sleeps again.
Kelly - that's a shame about DH's flight being delayed. Stoopid planes. On the nights that Izzy wakes for a feed she has a huge one too. Maybe things will change once you put him on solids?
Nothing really new to report here. I'm trying to get Izzy onto regular formula. I'm a bit worried about how she'll go when we start solids if she still can't tolerate wheat and dairy - rules an awful lot of stuff out! She had a couple of bottles yesterday of "normal" and it didn't seem to aggravate her reflux so fingers crossed.

lulu: i cant believe you are 11 weeks!!! you having a scan soon?? :D

Selfish one here again from me - we are still struggling with day and night sleeps :( Iz wont settle during the day (one sleep today she self settled - first time in about 2 months) unless I rock her or feed her - its really taking its toll on me mentally and physically, somethings really gotta give. Nights are on and off bad or ok - last night it was one feed, which was great - I heard her stir after 40 mins but she fell back to sleep.
I have the number of a sleep lady in Melbourne who does home visits and only charges $60 an hour and most visits are 2 hours max. so am thinking I will call her. Have registered with 3 sleep schools but my chances of getting in before Christmas are pretty slim. Im going to the Pinky sleep seminar too next week - fingers crossed it helps.
Its amazing how she can be fully asleep in my arms and the minute I start to lower her into bed her whole body wriggles and fights it and her arms and legs go flying up and down like crazy. Im still trying the bottle each day but no success so far. Luckily she is such a gorgeous happy girl at all other times otherwise I would really be going stir crazy ( more so than I am  ) I really do still feel like I have a newborn at nap and night time though and feeling so clueless - as one girl at mothers group said - they all went through it weeks ago when Izzy was sleeping 11 hours a night and napping perfectly, now the tables have turned -they have worked out all the issues and been to sleep school etc and Im just starting.
Hope you are all ok - sorry for the lack of personals right now - Im just too tired to go back and read. I agree with Kelly though - I think we all need this :grouphug:

Hi everyone,
Sorry I havent been on 4 a while been really busy with Corey and personal problems like my PND.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Hayley.

tan: izzy sounds the same as mason. I had to try and resettle him for 2 hourd last night from midnight to 2am. I was going mad. I really am struggling with depression and anxiety just because of his sleeping. its just crazy :(
You should get into tweddle before xmas. When did they book the day for the lady to call you? It should be within a few weeks after that
-
I have phone interveiws on the 29th and 1st - Tweddle did say it would be after Christmas :( I think I will just get this lady to come out coz I dont think I can wait that long without some help!
-
ok i got an interview on the 14h oct...then i rang back the next day and said i cannot cope anymore blah blah...and she got the interview for me a week earlier..(next monday).
Try calling right now and telling her youve been up all night and day and you cannot go on. Say anything you can!!

Hello!!
Tan & Danni - I hope you guys get some answers and some sleep really soon!! This motherhood thing certainly is trying at times!! Lucky our bubs are so damn cute and the laughing and smiles make it all worth it!!! And Tan, for the record, I'm still jealous that you had a brief stint of 11 hour sleeps!! ;) The most we've had is 6 hours in a row and even thats only been a couple of times!! I guess it does make it harder when you've had it and lost it though!!
After picking DH up from the airport at midnight the other night, I'm still trying to catch up on sleep too!!! Last night, I was sooo tired and just when we were trying to eat dinner, Luke decided he'd start screaming!! Its just so frustrating sometimes. DH came out with the best comment - "Lucky its not bin day or you'd be out with the recycling little man"!!
I've decided to try and feed Luke a little more regularly during the day and see if we can cut out the night feed. So far, he's just taken the extra feed and still demanding the night feed - so now I'm worried I'm going to overfeed him (now that we're on formula and all)!! Instead of feeding four hourly, he's now feeding three hourly. So instead of 4 feeds a day, he's having 5 a day - and then the extra one at night. I don't really know what to do anymore! He woke at 2am last night and there was nothing we could do to settle him. Three times he fell asleep in our arms but as soon as we put him down he screamed. Then when I finally gave him the bottle, he took it all - so he must be hungry, poor little man. I don't think we're ever going to be able to cut that feed out.
Anyway must go - sorry for the selfish post again.
