Hi Mummas... How are we all?
Hope everyone and their bubbas are well :)
My little Damian had his first high temperature a few days ago! It was sitting at 38.5 for a couple of days! Bub was quite sleepy, refusing solids and breastfeeding non stop for HOURS (omg my back lol). I just stuck with it and we both got through it. The last night of his high temp was the worst one we've had since back in the early days. He was crying and would not sleep in his hammock or feeding like usual, and nothing else worked so we all had to go for a freeway drive at like 1am for aaages just to get him settled and sleeping. Boy it was hard, a big flashback too. But great thing is that he is all better now, his body fought whatever it was naturally and hardly showed any other symptoms. So scary having a sick baby though!
Tammara how is your pregnancy going?? Feeling any morning sickness or anything else yet?
I wonder how all the other Mummies are going that would have had their babies when we did. I think all of them would have popped by now, even new mum. Wow, time just keeps on flying doesn't it..
-
I have not been getting notices for this thread and the post I did the other day is not here Humf!!
Anyway.
Danni, good to hear your little guy is better. It is horrible to have a sick baby and there but not much to do to help. I live about an hour from you if I remember correctly where you said you were from. M has not got any teeth yet, I can see one sitting under the gum and she has started really playing with her gum so I am guessing it wont be long now. I am sort of dreading it, she has started yanking at my nipple a bit at the end of a feed and that hurts enough, teeth are sure to make that worse. Hopefully she stops before they come through.
Eng, how are you going now. I hope your feeling better about opening up on here.
Took the girls to the Playschool concert this morning. A loved it. Even M liked watching it too except she did not like it when the music first started and all the kids screamed with excitment. M has dropped that 2:30am feed but is still waking, just does not want to feed. The minute I lay her in my bed she is out like a light, if I pick her up and put her in the cot she wakes up straight away. So now I have a half the night co sleeper. Thankfully A does not like sleeping in our bed because there just would not be enough room. I do love having her right there though.
M STILL has not rolled herself yet and now that she sits by herself she is not intersted in laying down at all anymore so I can't see her rolling anytime soon. I have caught myself compairing her to A and when she did things but A did everything very early so I have stopped. Plus I love her staying so babyish for longer. Although I would love another baby in a few years, I know it may not happen so I am making sure I make the most of it all now.
I have Lamb shanks in a BBQ sauce slowly cooking in the oven and my house smells so yum now. I can't wait to dig into them. The best weather for them. It is so cold here this afternoon.

Kazz I know how you feel about teeth as omg im scared too lol. I can feel one just under his gum too but it hasn't come through just yet. Any day now though! And Damian also clamps down on my nipple occasionally oh o! I have read to pull them in towards your nipple (so their face is sort of squashed in) so they learn it's uncomfortable to do it so they should stop biting, but I don't know how effective it is yet! I'm buying a nursing necklace on eBay that can also help stop them getting bored and biting, don't know if you have that issue or not. You can pm me if you want the link in future.
I think it's great macey will just pop into bed and sleep! I wish Damian would do that lol he has to be on my boob to sleep in bed or it's rocking. He has always been A fussy sleeper so I'm just glad we found something that works. I think you're right about enjoying the baby time as it's going too quickly! Like you, I plan on having another one a few years down the track I think. My little mr demanding baby couldn't cope sharing me just yet lol and we plan at stopping at 2 or 3, just gotta see how things plan out! I wouldn't worry about macey rolling Damian hardly does and hates being on the floor too, forget about on his tummy. She is sitting up you said so that's good. It's not like she's behind in everything or anything like that. Maybe we just have early walkers late crawlers on our hands :)... Well that's what I've always said about Damian.
Damian is also still scared of sudden or loud noises I don't think he would have coped with the start of playschopl just yet lol. Sounds like it would have been fun though.
Hubby has this free family pass he can get from work to taronga zoo which i hear is absolutely awesome but I just don't know the right time to take bub so he's not scared of crazy animals lol. Think I'll do it sometime soon anyway.
Eng hope all is well with you now. I would have pm you about fb, it's just I don't have an account. hope you're feeling better xx
-
My poor feet. Macey is now tall enough to reach the floor in her walker and my feet are coping it. She follows me everywhere and runs into me all the time and tinks it is so funny when I say ouch:)
I have seen those necklaces, macey plays with my normal necklace when I am wearing it. If not she will hold whatever top I have on. I will give that squish their face a try and hope it works.
We took Amelia to the zoo when she was 11months old and she loved it, she was walking but because it is a bit hilly she sat in the pram mostly but was able to get out and close to the exhibits. We caught the ferry there and she loved that too.
Off to the library for story time. Have a great day everyone.

Hello Mummys...
Got back today from my much needed getaway with my boys (Hubby & bub) for my birthday which was on Tuesday. I had such a wonderful time on my first holiday with Damian! It was a couple of hours drive from home and bub was fantastic. He was such a good boy in all the restaurants (also thanks to the fact he loves eating our food with us). We even got complimented a few times about his behaviour :) I am one proud Mummy! And to think how nervous I was! I feel so much more confident now and I feel like bub is at such a wonderful age and I'm really enjoying it. The hardest part was coming home!!
Hope everyone is well & I hope to hear some updates soon!
-
Helllloooo..... Anyone there?!?!
It's sooo quiet in here... I miss you ladies!!
Would love to catch up and see how everyone is!
-
I am still here. I got struck down with Mastitis on Sunday night so have been down and out. Feeling much better now. Have to take A to day care but will be back to write more.
-
Oh no kazz!! How did that happen? You poor thing, that sounds horrible *hugs* ...will wait to hear all about it
-
Okay back now.
We had a really long day out on Sunday and Macey was to distracted to feed properly and on Saturday night she did not wake up and feed like she has been so my right breast never really got drained for 2 days and we were out having dinner on Sunday night and I said to DH my breast is really sore. I got Macey to drain it but it still stayed hard and sore. By the time I got home I had a temp and could not stop shivering and felt really sick. Monday I spent all day massaging it and that seemed to do the trick. I am finally feeling better today. Never want to have it again though.
I took M to an Osteopath on Saturday. Because she still has not rolled I wanted to get her checked over to make sure there is no reason. The osteo said she will work on her shoulders and neck as that seems to be the area M is not using. I told her M hates been on her belly (use to love it) and now that she can sit up she just wont lay down. I am a little worried because if she wont lay down then she wont crawl and although people say that babies don't need to crawl and some never do. I believe it is important for them to and that it teaches them co-ordination and the osteo agreed. So I left on Saturday with some exercises to get her to stay laying down. It was a rough afternoon but Now she is okay to lay down. She prefers to be on her belly then her back (I guess it is the lesser of two evils for her) and has even started sleeping on her belly. She has even rolled once so far so it seems to be working. We have another appiontment tomorrow.
Sounds like a few days away was a great time for you Danni. Happy birthday for last week too :)
Hows Damian going?
Tammara, How is this pregnancy going. I hope you have no bleeds this time and I hope you don't get any MS again, you were lucky about that last time.
Eng, I hope your doing okay. How was your first day back at work?
-
Wow, it sure didn't take much for mastitis to happen! It sounds awful. Is that the first time you've had it? That's good you're feeling better now. With macey, good on you for getting her checked as you say you were concerned.. How exciting that she's rolled over now! That was quick!! Thats great the exercises are helping already.
With my little Damian, he has all of a sudden gone from hating being on his tummy no matter what to constantly rolling on his tummy straight after a feed if we are lying down and whenever he is on the floor or bed. It's great and it's happened so out of the blue! He must be getting ready to crawl soon (a day I thought would never come) as he's poking his bottom up in the air when on his tummy and moving around a lot. In saying that though, in total he doesn't spend much time laying down at all and prefers sitting up, which he does really well by himself (however I still like to be prepared for any tumbles which easily occur). Even when we were at a restaurant and bub was sitting in a high chair the other day some lady commented on how perfect his posture was (lol random), so all seems good in that sense!
I have stopped being able to use the bouncer anymore as bub manages to sit up and lean so far forward I'm scared he will tip it so thank god for the bumbo seat! My gosh he's growing so fast. He also drank some of my boost juice the other day... Through the straw! Very exciting :)
Bub has also been squealing a lot (and loudly) lately when he's in a playful mood and boy does he get frustrated when he's bored or sick of playing with his toys lol sometimes I think he's lucky he's so cute! ;-) he's still very active and constantly grabbing everything and I've had to buy him a toy iPhone to play with and eat to keep his little fingers off mine lol. Got the nursing necklace the other day and Damian loves the bells cos it jingles but as with everything else he does get over it rather quickly.
Tammara - Still looking forward on your update of your pregnancy! Can't wait to hear how it's going, how exciting! I still miss being pregnant some days, sometimes I still find myself touching my belly as I walk lol habit!
-
Hi Ladies
Kazz, hope your mastitis has completely gone now. I cant imagine how painfull it must have been for you :( Good result with the osteopath she will be rolling around every where
Danni - sounds like Damian will be up and crawling around in no time. Dylan gets on his knees now and sort of bounces up and down. he does his little comando crawl now but i think he will full on crawl very soon. We have him in his walker and he litteraly runs around the house and chases the dogs, its funny.
Dylan is doing good apart from not getting a full night sleep - he is waking with wind pain latey im thinking about taking him to the chiropracter to see if that can help if no change i will take to a pediatritian.
Afm - pregnancy is progressing as it should - nearly 8 weeks now :) ive been getting heartburn and morning sickness which i didnt get with Dylan so fingers crossed its a girl :) I have spoken to the gp to see if i can have bub at home but have to seee the specialist who will do the c section so fingerd crossed even harder that i get my own way :)
-
Wow Tammara 8 weeks already. I will cross my fingers for you too. It would be really hard for you to have to go to the other hospital this time when you will have a toddler so close to home would be very ideal. The Osteopath has really helped with M wind pains. M is now even doing #2 daily and having her sleep on her belly now seems to help as well. I hope it works for you too.
Danni. Damian sounds like a full on baby ( in a good way), my friend has a little boy and he is the same. I know what you mean about the squealing. M is now going through a growl/grunt period. She got tired of the high pitch squealing I think.
My Mastitis has all cleared and I am happy with myself for treating it without medication, it would have messed with M to much so I did not want to take any. M had another osteo appointment yesterday and got a massage. She loved it until it was time to do her head and she just screamed :) It sounded like we were tryinging to pull her head off she was screaming that much, she has never liked her head been touched so I have to work on that too.
I have been up since just before 5am with A throwing up. She was at my Aunty's yesterday and she ate to much I think (not junkfood) she is so cute though, she throws up then looks up and gives me a big smile and says YUK! She has just fallen asleep on the lounge but of course now I can't sleep because I know Macey will be up soon. It is going to be a long day.
-
KOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Hope everyone is well.
We are good this week but last week A was really sick with Gastro. Started Friday morning and lasted til the following Tuesday. But she is all better now.
M is going well. She rolls back to belly and has rolled belly to back a few times. So Osteo seems to have done the trick. She does the I want to crawl bounce now too. She is a great bum shuffler though.
-
Hello Kazz. Great to hear Macey has been rolling around & glad Amelias better now, sounds awful! It seems like you all take it in turns on being sick all the time! I wonder if daycare is responsible for that.
Damian cut his first tooth 2 days ago!!!! Very very exciting (and also scary lol), pretty much at 8.5 months old. He wasa bit cranky the day before that and I was wondering why but besides that he has been surprisingly really good! Hasn't needed teethers or been dribbly etc etc - that happened months ago lol. Well I think we all deserve an easy teething journey after those really difficult first few months, so fingers crossed!
Bub has been saying lots of mama and has started the cutest babbling noises ever :) just started on the dadada too now. He went through phases of this more advanced babbling a few months ago but it looks like it's here to stay now. He's moving around everywhere on the floor, shuffling, turning, sliding and rolling. I weighed him a few weeks ago (close to a month now) and he was in the 80th percentile! Somewhere around 9.5kg. He is just getting so heavy I have trouble carrying him in my sling for very long these days! my back is always sore in general these days. Mum is due for a massage I say!
On a sad note... Damian got his first cold yesterday! Ah it's a nightmare. He hates it when I wipe his nose. Poor thing is all blocked up, coughing and spluttering and he isn't his usual crazy self atm, more quiet which is very odd lol. He caught it from Dad (there's always something going around in that damn office).
Finishing ona good note now... Our house is coming along really well and hopefully should be done by late august! Time is FLYING!
Hope all you Mummies & Babies are keeping well & staying warm! Hope to hear some updates soon. Belly/baby buddies... Where are you all???!!!!
Love to all x
-
.......................... STILL NO ONE IS ON HERE???? HHHEEEELLLLLLLLLLOOOO?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i REALLY don't want our thread to die ladies :( !!!!
i'd love to hear how all you Mums & Bubs are... I really hope you are all well & your babies too. Come on Mummies... come back! We've been there with each other right through our pregnancies and births... surely you can spare some time to share how your lives are now ;)
Ahhh well... Hopefully will hear some updates soon *fingers crossed* !!
xx

I am still around. Have been coming onto to BB but have never had much time to sit and type something. I am lucky to get 5 minutes to have a quick look around.
Anyway, having issues with A's health and now it looks like she will be getting her tonsils and maybe adnoids out and hopefully that will help her. M's going really great. Back to sleeping through the night again, although she decided to give me a real early wake up yesterday after I had a bad night up with A coughing. She is trying so hard to crawl but ends up going backwards instead :)
Danni, it is the best when they start saying mumma, M says it but it is so funny when she is fustrated she says it with a real growl, sounds like she is possossed. Hope Damien is all better now. It is horrible when they get sick but it also helps build up their defence and each time it seems to get easier and shorter to handle. Sounds like he is growing nicely.
My little chubba surprised me when I weighed her last week. Her car seats are only rear facing till 9kg and I thought she might be about that now so I weighed her and she was 9.64kg. I was a little shocked but hey, she loves her food and booby so I should not have been. So we changed her seat around and her face was priceless. She loves been able to watch me.
Okay better run, the girls have finished breakfast.
-
Hey kazz - of course you are still around :) you are the most consistent poster on here I believe! So good to hear an update - wow sounds like you are very busy!
I am intrigued actually.. How have you found it going from one baby to 2...?? Much change or different from going to none to 1 & has it made a difference between you & DH? More hectic etc?
Great to hear that macey is trying to crawl! So glad your concerns all worked out. Damian is doing the same thing (going backwards)! Hope Amelia feels better. Any teeth for macey yet? And are you still full time at home with her or have you gone back to work?
My little man is going well. I've been seeing some positive changes with him lately, Looks like all my responsive parenting is starting to reap the benefits now! Hehe. He has been really really happy, content, more easygoing and able to give me more of a break by playing alone sometimes which is great. Although around when his first tooth was coming up there was a few days where he seemed in pain and random crying attacks and not so good during the night, reminded me what it used to be! But thankfully that passed rather quickly and no more teeth have come through yet.
As for myself, I went for a blood test the other week and my results came back that I am low in iron and REALLY low in vitamin D, which explains the extreme tiredness i have been feeling lately. Debating whether to get bub tested but still not sure. Went to a naturopath for some vitamins. Lots more sun for us though!
Hope you have a lovely day and I pray this cold front with all this rain predicted doesn't last too long!!
Xx
*this is my first post with tapatalk so hopefully all comes through properly*

i am still here also danni
Ive been pretty sick with stinking morning sickness a couple of weeks ago - that bad i had to stay at my mums for the week because the maxalon just made me like a zombie and i was not able to look after dylan on my own but it passed untill this morning i had another vomit :( but i think it was becasue i didnt eat breakfast.
Kazz, hope its not too serious and you dont end up having to go as far as getting her tonsils out the poor lil love. How is macey going with her osteopath? hope its sorted her out. 9.6kg i love a chubba bubba i have to get dylan weighed soon but last time at about 6 months he was over 9kg i think 9.3 from memory. Just means they are healthy hehehe
Danni - so glad damian is giving you a bit of space, as much as i love dylan when he is very clingy its so hard to do anything. Yay for first teeth, Dylan got his first a week ago then another on saturday he was very grizzly but all good now. Just out of interest is Damians tooth straigh or crooked? both dylans teeth are angled, i dont know idf thats normal or not???
With your low iron i had VERY low - nearly non existant iron levels and i tried iron tablets and even injections once a week for a month but they did nothing. I started eating spinache and it worked so much better. If you dont like spinach like me i just cooked it up with lots of garlic and onion you hardly taste it. Worth a go.
AFM - 12 weeks pregnant now, had my scan and ultrasound guy said all looks well so thats good. Apart from the morning sickness im doing well. dont want to jynx myself but no bleeds this time round! im hoping that having heartburn and morning sickness means bubby is a lil girl :) we wont be 100% sure untill its born though lol
Will try and come back more regular :) bye ladies hope everyone else is doing good.
