Eng - Now the link has been posted on our Belly Buddies group thread hopefully the girls will see it & join soon Wow, life sure is hectic with a newborn! I can't believe you are getting done what you say you've been getting done! I have done nothing besides attend to my little man 24/7! I know what you mean about leaving the house with a baby... I'm too nervous to with Damian because all he does is feed & sleep so the thought of him crying right through a shopping centre makes me a nervous wreck lol so we've all been house bound since his birth. But we've been loving it... it's amazing how much love you feel for something you created Ha... I also read how your little guy did a pee on you LOL (well I think that's what I read haha) well, you're not alone! The minute we got Damian on the table to be weighed after birth... DH & I had to dodge getting wet lol little boys hey How's your DD going now, as I remember you said you've been having issues with the new baby & all? What's been happening there...?

Hi I hope I can join in here
My little man wasn't due till Jan but arrived on the 5th of November.
Flynn is doing really well in special care and I am hoping for him to be transfered to a hospital closer to home this week when a bed opens up.

Hubba - WOW 3 children, I salute you!! You say Kara has severe reflux can I ask what that is like for you besides the vomiting? as my Damian has been crying a bit during and just after some feeds so was wondering if reflux is a possibility as I would hate for him to be in pain but I'm not sure if it's just normal or not. And any settling tips up your sleeve for the 1st month????

Kat - Congratulations on the birth of your baby, even if it took you by surprise & you had to meet him earlier. Looks like he's a little Scorpio like the rest of ours. I am really glad to hear that he is doing well & good luck getting him transferred. What happened? How are you feeling??

Hey kazz - of course you are still around you are the most consistent poster on here I believe! So good to hear an update - wow sounds like you are very busy!

I am intrigued actually.. How have you found it going from one baby to 2...?? Much change or different from going to none to 1 & has it made a difference between you & DH? More hectic etc?

Great to hear that macey is trying to crawl! So glad your concerns all worked out. Damian is doing the same thing (going backwards)! Hope Amelia feels better. Any teeth for macey yet? And are you still full time at home with her or have you gone back to work?

My little man is going well. I've been seeing some positive changes with him lately, Looks like all my responsive parenting is starting to reap the benefits now! Hehe. He has been really really happy, content, more easygoing and able to give me more of a break by playing alone sometimes which is great. Although around when his first tooth was coming up there was a few days where he seemed in pain and random crying attacks and not so good during the night, reminded me what it used to be! But thankfully that passed rather quickly and no more teeth have come through yet.

As for myself, I went for a blood test the other week and my results came back that I am low in iron and REALLY low in vitamin D, which explains the extreme tiredness i have been feeling lately. Debating whether to get bub tested but still not sure. Went to a naturopath for some vitamins. Lots more sun for us though!

Hope you have a lovely day and I pray this cold front with all this rain predicted doesn't last too long!!

    Xx

i am still here also danni

Ive been pretty sick with stinking morning sickness a couple of weeks ago - that bad i had to stay at my mums for the week because the maxalon just made me like a zombie and i was not able to look after dylan on my own but it passed untill this morning i had another vomit but i think it was becasue i didnt eat breakfast.

Kazz, hope its not too serious and you dont end up having to go as far as getting her tonsils out the poor lil love. How is macey going with her osteopath? hope its sorted her out. 9.6kg i love a chubba bubba i have to get dylan weighed soon but last time at about 6 months he was over 9kg i think 9.3 from memory. Just means they are healthy hehehe

Danni - so glad damian is giving you a bit of space, as much as i love dylan when he is very clingy its so hard to do anything. Yay for first teeth, Dylan got his first a week ago then another on saturday he was very grizzly but all good now. Just out of interest is Damians tooth straigh or crooked? both dylans teeth are angled, i dont know idf thats normal or not???
With your low iron i had VERY low - nearly non existant iron levels and i tried iron tablets and even injections once a week for a month but they did nothing. I started eating spinache and it worked so much better. If you dont like spinach like me i just cooked it up with lots of garlic and onion you hardly taste it. Worth a go.

AFM - 12 weeks pregnant now, had my scan and ultrasound guy said all looks well so thats good. Apart from the morning sickness im doing well. dont want to jynx myself but no bleeds this time round! im hoping that having heartburn and morning sickness means bubby is a lil girl we wont be 100% sure untill its born though lol

Will try and come back more regular bye ladies hope everyone else is doing good.

This is one of my favorite ages for babies. It is great watching them get a bit more independance and trying to push themselves. M has discovered that she can get up on her toes and almost crab crawl, she has cracked her head on the ground a few times by over balancing but she keeps doing it so it can't be that bad. No teeth yet for Macey. I could feel one under her gum the other day but I can't any more. A has her specialist appointment next Tuesday so I should know what is going to happen then. She still has a horrible cough but she is not gasping for breath in between. I gave her a couple more pillows to sleep with so she is a bit more upright.

Going from 1 to 2 babies has been fine so far. When M was newborn it was very easy because it was eat sleep poop, repeat. For a little while it was hard because both girls went through a 'I want all your attention now mummy' stage. Now A keeps M amused a lot of the time. So I guess I have found it easy but I am really lucky in that I have great girls and A adjusted fantastically to having a sibling come into the family.

Are you still planning on waiting a couple more years to have another baby? I go through stages were I think I would love to try again soon but my plan is to wait till 2013 and see if I think A will handle starting Kinder and if I do then I will start trying again then, if not then the year after definately.

It has been hard to get some Vit D so I can understand been low in that, At least you know what was making you so tired and you can get on top of it now. I am hopeless at taking my iron tablets and I can feel when I am getting slack with it so they make a big difference. Are you still BF?

I am still at home full time, still not sure when or if I will be going back to work, I am considering waiting till next year and looking for another job. I am only casual at the vets and would really prefer a perm/part time job somewhere. If I stay casual but put the girls in care I have to pay the same amount each week and can't gaurentee I will get the hours to cover costs. Ideally I would love a three day a week job. so I will just wait and see but ATM there is no real rush for me to return to work. DH and I saved up big so I could be home with the girls for a few years. I just see it that if I have them both in Child care (for the socialising) then I may as well work or I would get to bored.

It is great to hear that all your work with Damian has paid off. Have you started thinking about his 1st birthday and party and present ideas. I can't believe it is only 3 months away. It will be here before we know it. I am struggling to think of things to get M, I guess it will be some things that her sister has that she wont share, like a fold out lounge and trike. I don't even need clothes because I have so many dresses/clothes that never got worn by A. I did layby their combined Christmas present though, Dual screen DVD player for the car. and I am going to make them a sandpit.

Well I am off to do some digging while the ground is a bit softer from the rain. Decided to make 3 new gardens beds and it keeps A busy helping me

That post was so great it posted twice

Will add, Of course the minute I mention I am going outside to dig it starts raining

Now I can add a reply to Tammara in here

Well congratulations on 12 weeks already, that has flown. I am not sure if I should congratulate you on the MS or not, it might just be a big sign that you are having a pink bubba this time and that would be perfect. No bleeds is great news. I hope you don't keep getting sick, it is hard with a bubs keeping you busy and all you want to do is crawl into a ball.

I hope thatA does not need her tonsils out, I really don't like thinking of her having surgery but if it helps then I guess I will just have to do it. Plus they say they recover super quick when they are little so better now then later I guess.

tammara hello! looks like it's just us 3 again!! well, for now! Sounds like you've been having it a bit tough with the ms - ooh I wonder if it's a girl for you this time round!? I remember very clear what ms is like and I had it for ages (but not as bad as you) so I really feel for you & hope it stays away. I can only imagine how hard it would be with a little bubba but that's good you have support.

YES I know exactly what you mean about clingy - that's my boy's middle name lol. I try to just give him what he needs now and just remember that it won't last forever I feel like my baby days are numbered already they're growing so fast! Damian's tooth hasn't fully come out but as far as I can see it is straight. But I have heard that it is normal for baby teeth to come in crooked then straighten out as they grow/ more come in. I'd just keep an eye on if I were you to see if it affects the teeth around it.

Thanks for the advice re spinach I must do that - the garlic and onion sounds like a great idea I definitely will try that one soon! I'm so glad to hear your pregnancy is progressing so well - wow, 12 weeks already, how time flies hey!!

Kazz - It's my favourite age for babies too!!! I am absolutely loving this time So interactive and fun and innocent yet when you put them on the floor they're not mobile around to make you chase after them yet hehe - perfect I say! I love seeing his beautiful little personality emerge. Damian has such a lovely temperament and I am so proud to see that!

How did your appointment go for Amelia yesterday? I hope everything improves soon. Yes I am definitely planning on waiting a few years for another one, I'd much rather Damian be at the point where he's more independant (out of nappies, understanding things etc) because at the moment he is still so very demanding and I just want to be able to focus on him completely and then when he's in preschool or something I'll be able to focus on the next! Haha well thats my lovely little plan but you just never know I suppose I do see lots of benefits both ways but ideally at the moment I'm looking at 3.5year ish gap, and yes that's partly due to Damian's temperament too (high needs/ full on - whatever you call it!).

Yes most definitely I am breastfeeding - still around the clock lol! He really hasn't changed with bf, if anything the last week it's been more than ever as he was having his 9 month growth spurt I think. He very much likes his milk at night as a comfort thing too I think. That's great to hear you're at home - I am too, and although it is hard sometimes (and a little lonely), most of all I really love it and hope not to have it any other way for a while longer! We too, like you have saved for me to be able to spend the next few years at home, so fingers crossed that will still be able to happen. And I'm going to start up my counselling studies again soon, maybe once we are settled in the new house.

and OMG first birthday - nooo I haven't! Time is just absolutely flying and I can't believe they have spent as much time in this world as they did in our tummies now - 9 months! I have moving house coming up so soon (within the month or so), then hubby's 1st fathers day, then our wedding anniversary - and that's only til the middle of next month! Ahhh! lol. Your Christmas prezzies sound awesome! I must start putting in some thought for that too. I actually am not sure of what to do for Damian's 1st birthday. I'm thinking maybe taking him to the beach for the first time in the hopes that it is warm enough by then. but as for gifts, what did you get Amelia?

And also kaz - I was browsing the forums and saw the one about the protein shakes - interesting! Are you still taking them and has anything changed with macey? I love the idea that it keeps them fuller for longer, so much that I just so went out and bought a chocolate flavoured one lol! It's not like it's bad for you and I am so intrigued to see if it will actually help Damian with his sleeping! How many do you have a day? Hmm..

Surprise surprise, we all have the flu again (well except DH who never seems to get sick). But my gilrs are still happy so that is the main thing.

A had her appointment on Tuesday. The ENT specialist said she has tonsild the size of meatballs, so they will definately be coming out. We have to go public though and the waiting list is 1 year. In a way I am glad that we have to wait, that way she will be a bit older to handle it all. The thought of one of my girls having surgery (even a minor opperation) so young is not the best so now I have time to get use to it. We also have to have her ears checked to make sure her ear drums are good, she gets alot of fluid build up in her ears and this can cause the ear drums to tilt or something to that effect.

For A first birthday we got her a smart trike, a spikey ball, a few little noisy toys and some clothes. We knew she would get really spoilt so we went light on our gifts She loved the bike and the ball the most. I have a great photo I will try and find and load for you to see her reaction when we gave her her presents.

I am in prep mode for M birthday now. We are having it at home so should be easy to organise. Can't believe it is less then 3 months away. M is going great, still crawling backwards everywhere. She now waves (very royal like), high fives and claps. She has also started bopping along whenever music is playing. She in trying to pull herself up to standing on just about everything she can get a grip on now and loves playing with draws, her little fingers get caught a fair bit but she is slowly learning to be careful. She also loves it when we chase her in her walker. She gets into hysterics, so funny

I am still BF but will have to introduce a bottle soon, it will be expressed milk though. I have tickets to see Meatloaf in October and my dad is going to be watching the girls for me. DH will be in America (4 weeks this time). I am not sure how long I will BF for, I will see how M goes, she is starting to get a bit fussy but I think it might just be a stage. A selfed weaned at this age so will just go with the flow.

I think the protein shakes helped me more then my milk supply, but then again it was possibly a domino effect. I feel better having them so I must have been lacking in my diet. How have you been feeling now that you have been having them for a week?

Have you got any ideas on what you will do and get Damian for his birthday. Hows the house going, almost moving time, very exciting. I did not realise you were that close to me, I kept thinking you were in the Eastern suburbs.

M is finally crawling forward She does get very frustrated though that she can't keep up with us. She also cut her first tooth on the day she was 9 months. It has only just come up a tiny bit though and it actually looks like a top one might cut before the other bottom tooth does.

Oh and just incase anyone is interested lozzy_mac had a little boy EJ on the 19th I think.

Oh Congratz Kazz!!!! haha I bet you're happy now - wooohooo! What a milestone!! Yay for Macey. Sounds like she's getting around everywhere & doing really well

Hope you all are recovering from the flu - again! Wow I can't believe how long the wait is for hospital - I guess that makes me feel like there's at least one benefit to private health (it has just become SO expensive I wonder if it's worth it most of the time!!). I would love to see the photo of Amelia if you can find it - would like to see what she looks like when she was 1 year old too! Omg I was reflecting on things the other day and even got a little teary when I realised how soon my baby is going to be 1 year old! OMG I still remember I found out I was pregnant like it was yesterday. Time is going SO SO fast. But of course, most importantly I feel really blessed to have a happy, healthy, thriving baby & think what a milestone for me & DH it will be when Damian is 1 year old We got him a smart trike the other day, which we will give to him when we move to the new house - it has seatbelt and all that so good for him now which is great, I think he's going to love it! Still haven't fully decided what we are going to get him for his 1st Birthday, debating on so many things. DH wants to give him a jumping castle from the markets but I just think he's crazy lol.

I have been really slack with the protein shakes so can't really say that it has helped much lol. Damian has his second bottom tooth now which has just come through. He gets really really grizzly and has trouble sleeping & settling etc for a few days after the tooth pops through. Nothing seems to help - but main thing is it comes & goes quick so that's good I suppose! I am so excited about the move - we are starting to pack now as we are moving next week!!! (well been procrastinating heaps which I know will bite us in the bum when it comes down to it lol). We are moving & staying in Sydney but closer to the Blue Mountains which I'm really happy about as I miss it there. For my birthday a few months back we passed through the Hunter Valley region for the day & I did think I wonder if that is near where you are lol.

Have you decided you're definitely going for #3? Are you still thinking of spacing the gap out a few years this time?

newmum would have had her bub too a little while ago, but she hasn't been on in ages so I haven't heard anything.

Damian is doing well, he's always pulling on me & everything else to stand up and just loves staying standing & bending his knees to jump. Still getting around by shuffling & moving around on the floor, not "proper" crawling I suppose. I get so scared he'll get his fingers stuck in things that I'm always constantly hovering over him to make sure lol, I wonder if I'll loosen up - I'm so scared when he walks that he will fall or hurt himself haha I think that'll be something I'll have to learn over time. He's a real pro self-feeder which is great as I've been so worried about his iron & Vitamin D because of mine I often wonder if I should get him checked, but he's really started eating heaps more now so I think I will just leave it for now.

ah, gotta go bub needs a breastfeed but will update you more on his progress next time.

Oh, and WOW your hubby got a Harley!! omg I'd be so scared lol

    xx

I finally uploaded the picture of A first birthday. Her smile says it all.

M is a little vampire now. One bottom tooth is out and now her top 2 eye teeth are out, she has a funny smile now She has crawling down pat now. She still gets a little confused if she tries to go to quick and starts crab crawling.

A will be having her tonsil & andoids out and grommits put in. The Dr is happy to wait the one year though, he said he likes them to be a bit older when having surgery and her reasons for needing it are not because she is mainly sick, more the snoring and mouth breathing issues. We had her hearing checked and it is actually quiet bad because of the fluid build up, that will be the only reason the surgery might get brought forward, just need to keep an eye on it.

    Otherwise we are all healthy.

Damian sounds like he is going great, fingers will get stuck and squashed and hurt all the time, just wait till he starts walking, there will be sore knees and bottoms, kids are forever hurting themselves. It does get less of a worry over time, you will get an idea of what he can handle and you will find other people will react more then you if he falls or hurts himself somehow
So are you all moved yet? I dread the thought of ever moving but I know I don't want to stay here forever. DH keeps EVERYTHING where as I am really good at getting rid of things so maybe I will just have to help him let go of things to ever make a move easy.
I am about 45minutes southwest from where you have moved. I love the area I live. I hope you settle in nicely.

We will def have #3. I have told DH that I would always regret not having another baby. He wanted to start trying straight away, he likes close age gaps. I said I will atleast wait till after my trip to Vegas in April/May next year and then think about trying.

Better run, M wants to have her nap now.

Hey kazz wow your macey has more teeth then Damian now! Haha he has two bottom teeth and they're sooo cute! I'm happy to have a break from all that teething drama - although it has been a long while since one has come through actually. How often does Macey sleep during the day now? And what is her meals like on an average day? (Damian has grown this massive appetite and is eating heaps now) I really want to check out your photos which i will soon just can't now as it won't let me on phone

Wow - moving is soooo hectic!!! We have been unpacking for the last week lol and I just dont see an end in sight haha no okay we are almost there I suppose. It has just taken so much more time then we imagined. I just love it here though, so much more space, nice & quiet & safe and it's great living in a brand new home. Hubby has been busy planting as we are doing our own garden too (I'm a real nature girl). On a good note, Damian has been taking the move really well and has been really settled considering all the craziness and change. Although he has just gotten over severe constipation which has been really stressful over the last few weeks poor bub. Hopefully it seems to be sorted now but if not I'll need to take a trip to the homeopath (I don't want to medicate him).

Damian has been doing lots of pulling up on things and wants to be forever standing! He is back to getting upset on his tummy though which isn't so good. So no traditional crawling but he does manage to get around in his own way. Looks like he will be walking first lol. I was getting concerned but then I read that doctors have even removed crawling as a necessary development milestone for children so I'm just learning to accept he'll be a late crawler or maybe not at all. I guess I'm not surprised as he's always been an upright baby. He likes bending his knees sometimes when he stands and does some really cute jigging (dancing) haha. we bought him a trike the other week and omg he loves it! It's great as it gives my arms a break too as I usually take him for walks in a front facing carrier. He waves back at us now and likes to share his toys/ food which is really sweet still a booby monster too lol but that's okay as I love the snuggle time!

Hope all is well with all & if you pop on tammara don't forget to keep us updated on your pregnancy and how your little man is going!

Good evening ladies, finally got off my bum to come have a read and say hello.

Kazz - sounds like macey is getting a mouthfull of chompers can just imagine the cute lil smile she would have. Good news about Amelia? (having a total blank hope that is her name are they going to do anything about her hearing soon or just wait till they do the tonsills?

Danni - how is the unpacking going? that is prob the worse thing about moving, i think we still have a couple of unpacked boxes out in the back room after 6 years - should really throw them out. It does sound like Damian is going to be a walker very soon. Hope he is definately over his constipation the poor lil fella. I took Dylan to a guy who does Bowen Massage - it seemed to help him with wind so that might be something to help if he gets constipated again, the days after Dylan had at least 2 poos a day, he was a pooping machine lol

All is going well with the pregnancy here im nearly 19 weeks!!!! it has gone so fast this time round, i think i have been far more relaxed. ive had no bleeding at all this time so i think that helps heaps. Although i was telling hubby that i miss all the scans, it was reassuring to know everything was going fine.

Im not sure if i have ever mentioned i have a mental thing about b'days or things happening on significant dates?? eg we have bdays on anzac day, easter, halloween, other peoples bdays ect. Seems this baby wants to join the mental significant date thing, the midwife gave us two delivery dates - either feb 7 hubbys bday or valentines day lol

Dylan is just growing and doing sooooo many things now, he has 4 teeth now he got his first tooth at 8 months then a week later got his second bottom tooth then at about 9 months got both top two teeth at once - it was a bad week the poor lil thing. He is crawling everywhere and knows how to get out the back door so i have to be so aware of where he is at all times. He has started walking around furniture and also holds onto his walker and walks with it. We have started trying him on pretty much everything we eat and have not found anything he doesnt like yet - he LOVES cheese.

I have decided we are doing pirates for his birthday which as you know is less than 2 months away!!!!

I will try and pop in more often Hope everyone is doing well
