Babies Born November 2006 #10

Six months - half a year... far out. where has that gone!!! We put Aston in the jolly jumper this evening, it was hysterical. Like everything new that he does at the moment, he had a huge grin on his face - like " aren't I just the cleverest??!!"

It must be definately something that happens with bubs around this age that they have there first buster - a couple of the mums from the mothers and baby group that I sometimes go to have had busters too! I wait in trepidation that Aston will come a cropper any day now! God I hope that if it happens it does so while DH is in charge of him - otherwise I will NEVER hear the end of it!

hope you are feeling better soon AJP, and Christy... I havent had a cold for ages - she says as she touches wood! and I'm not in a hurry to get one either! but alas it is cold season, so I sure someday in the next few months I'm sure one will head my way.

Vicky - i know what you mean by that look! Evie looooves her jolly jumper and she is so proud of herself in it! we also put a swing up for her outside but shes a bit unsure of that at the moment.

As for us: I am doing much better, i have my 19 week scan on monday and really looking forward to it now (i havent until the last day or so) and finding out if we have a Prince or Princess. Chelsea started on solids Wednesday night.....just Farex but she loves it...chucks the biggest tanty when its all gone..LOL...its very cute.. opens her mouth wide and sticks her tongue out.. then gobbles it up! Feeding well, now drinking all 220ml of each bottle. Sleeping well.. all night again without waking!! She tries to get up on all fours, which she does but then falls face first. I now say to her 'wheres bub' and she says bub, but if i say 'wheres the baby' she looks at me then starts saying mum mum.... im sure she has no idea what i mean but its pretty cute and bizarre!!

Any how.. i best get going...just wanted to touch base and make sure everyone was going ok...packing this weekend, we move next saturday... get keys monday!!

thats it! i am scrapping afternoon naptime! it doesnt work for anyone involved! ggrrr!

Aston is sometimes only having two sleeps in the day now. problem is that come5 o'clock he is so tired...yesterday he fell asleep at 5 - before even having a bath, was still asleep at seven, put him in is his grobag, and he still slept. Woke at around 10.30 for a feed, then again at 1.00. will have to try and space the day sleeps a bit better...

Hey vicky, no not crawling yet, but i dont think it will be long now!!! scary times ahead!! still have to baby proof the house, the colds getting better, my nose is red raw, stupid tissues. how close are you to a place called marcus beach and to noosa?????

OMG. Gave evie about 2tbsp of Farex this morning which she seemed ok about. about an hour ago she started vomiting everywhere. like, vomiting to the point where its all just bile coming out and there is nothing left in her stomach. she's crying and looking at us like 'help me' and theres nothing i can do! we gave her a warm shower and she's finally gone to sleep but i feel terrible! i have never felt such a feeling of worry and helplessness before.

Oh no!!! Tara *hugs* how awful. Is it from the farex?? Has she had it before??

Best thing for gastro... breastfeed as much as she will take and take heaps of showers. The other thing is if she isn't keen on breastfeeding, try making ice blocks with diluted breastmilk to help keep her fluids up. If you aren't breastfeeding then ice blocks with diluted pear juice is good too.

Its so scary to see them vomit all over and feel so yuck.

thanks heaps for that christy. shes just woken up from an hour long nap and seems heaps better. she has had farex before but not as much or as thick as i gave it to her this morning. shes also still a bit mucus-y from her cold, so i think it was a combination of everything and her tummy said 'i dont want to deal with this!'

oh tara hope Evie feels better soon :(

AJP - marcus beach and Noosa are literally down the road from me. Noosa is where i go to meet with the mother's group, and do generally everything. Why????

long story but the short of it all is, aunt in marcus beach, now in nursing home in noosa, family selling house and possibly buying holiday rental unit around noosa somewhere, will do holiday lets, but family can also use, if they do sometime in the future we could finally meet!!!!!!!!

oh No! We've come down with colds too.

Ella is coughing and coughing, sneezing and has a runny nose. Her eyes are so red and puffed up. Poor thing...
I've got a sore throat and blocked nose. At least she's still sleeping and seems to just want to sleep and sleep.

Well so far the cold hasn't reached the sunshine coast, well my neck of the woods anyway! and hopefully it will stay that way. I think i turned into a yoyo last night, I was up and down so many times its not funny...poor little man has a sore tummy I think. its been few days again since he has pooed, and now it is hurting him. He moans poor little thing. I think I will hold off on feeding him anything other then breast milk til after I have been to the doctor for his immunisation. I don't remember having this much trouble with Nat and Laura when they started solid....but it was a while ago.

Hope the holiday apartment happens AJP, this is the most beautiful place in the world I think. and a brilliant place to come on holiday too. Would definately have to catch up!

Aston is asleep, so Im going to lay down too....

Evies tummy has finally settled i think but i'm not going to bother with any more rice cereal, its just not worth it. going to see nurse today to get her weighed anyways so i'll see what she says.

Well poor little Ella was so sick last night we put her to bed at 6pm and she slept through to 6.30am. When she woke up she had a fever so we're heading off to the GP.

Glad to hear other bubs and mums are feeling better. I'll just dose up on vitamin c and echinacea (usually does the trick) Problem is i dont feel tooooo bad and i'm tempted to get some housework done but i know i should rest up - but the vacuuming...and the dishes...

Kim - so excited for you about the scan!

Vicki - Noosa sound perfect and great escape from the cold too. I'd love to go away but our $$$$ are locked away for our house deposit :(

OMG i cant believe Chelsea is 6 MONTHS old today!! Where has the time gone???

We got the new hosue keys yesterday afternoon...turn up to the house and the lady who lived there HASNT EVEN CLEANED IT...i nearly died...it was a mess.. so Craig and i had to go there last night and start cleaning... need to go back again tonight...i was so upset about it. The walls and carpets are feral....was not like this when we looked thru it 3 months ago...such a shame.. but will come up ok with some TLC.

On other notes... scan went well, but have to go back on Friday 22nd June for another scan as bub was to small and they were not able to see off of the anatomy to get measurements. Other then that bub is looking very healthy. Have the scan on DVD.

Logan is now 6mths old.... WOW where did that time go! Mastered sitting up on his own last week but no real sign of crawling yet. Probably a good thing that he stays where I leave him for now.
Started solids on the weekend - he's not sure about the texture but don't think it will be long before he wants 3 meals a day. Might sound crazy but almost makes me a touch sad to see him becoming all grown up. I dread the day he doesn't want to BF anymore!
Immunisations on Thursday... will be happier when thats all over with!

LOL... for the moment i dont know the gender for sure... couldnt see between the legs but gave me a 'i think 90%.......' so im pretty sure its safe to say i know what it is.. but they going to make sure at the next scan! ;)

glad all is well kim, what so they mean by small?

we had our first swimming lesson today. great fun!!!

Im not sure what they ment by small... cos bub was measuring the correct EDD (well 2 days difference now...) but they couldnt get to the kidneys and a few other places.

All i was told was 'bub is a little on the small side to be able to complete the scan today so ill get u back in 2-3 weeks when bub is bigger'

oh ok, so nothing to worry about then??? god i hope not!!!

when we moved into our current house, we rocked up just after settlemnt time,around, 1pm to find the owner still HADN"T moved out!!!!!! not happy jan!!!!!!

What i cant understand is... if bub was correct measurements how could s/he be small?? haha It doesnt make sence to me! But ah well..at least i think i know the gender...90% is a fairly high rate to just be a guess and im very happy with that!

Think Chels is tryin to crawl... puts her hands out and moves forward then brings her knees up....

thats what didnt make sense to me either, oh well as long as he'she is healthy!!! come on just tell us which colour!!!!

We still have the sniffles and coughs. Ella's appetite is up and down but slept through last night and having loooonng day naps. Poor little immune system must be getting knocked around. GP was not very concerned and only suggested panadol and fess so it cant be very serious.

DH looks like he's got the cold too. :( I'm feeling a bit better and hopefully my antibodies will pass onto Ella.

Kim - can you get friends to help you clean? reward them with beer and BBQ? I would be too exhausted to do it on my own.

AJP - How fun - swimming classes! we're waiting till it gets warmer to do it.

Meredith - good to see you're back. Ella's also sitting well...i wonder what's next. She's not keen on tummy time at all. How do they start crawling? from tummy time? Ella will sit and lean forward to reach for things. I can see this turning into a crawling position.

The chick only moved out the day of settlement (thats being 1230pm yesterday) her truck never arrived until 1pm....and we got the keys at 4pm. As it was we gave her extended settlement and she still had the hide to wait til the day to move and then NOT CLEAN :angry:


As if i dont have other things to worry about... not to mention.. packing here to move 7am Saturday morning!!

AJP how did the swimming lessons go?
I cant believe how quickly evie is mastering this 'starting to crawl' business. On a :cry: note: having major issues putting her down for naps again. it's driving me nuts and i try so hard not to get angry but its just so frustrating. she doesnt want to go to sleep on her own she wants to be cuddled if not, then fed. ive been trying now for ages to get her to sleep and in the end she wiggled around so much i put her back in her cot and she looked like she might go to sleep then just rolled over and smiled at me and now she's on all fours pushing herself around the cot. i dont know if i should just leave her if shes happy or what. is this a growing related thing do you think? what does wonder weeks say?

Chelsea just went down for a nap cos she was tired... was there bout 3 mins all quite... so i walked away.... 5 mins later she was screaming, but i ignored it... and now she is fast asleep. She is getting much better at day sleeps... good girl for her carer...but at home we have a lil trouble.

ANN and TARA swiumming was great fun, lots of singing and repetious(sp) movements,
ANN the centre is sooooo hot and humid they dont get cold!!!

KIM no fair hey that sucks!! sounds like our move day

TARA cant help with the sleeps but like you said i'd leave her if she's happy, let her go and see if she puts herslef to sleep

but shes still going! now shes crying and i am sooooooo frustrated! i try not to get mad at her but im sure she can sense it. i just read an article 'the con of controlled crying' and it makes me even more reluctant to leave her cry! ohhhh the guilt and frustration!!!!
