Tara - Yay evie! good girl. Ella also is waking every 3 hours which is so much easier than every 2hrs! Our girls are synchronized sleepers :)
AJP - I'm surprised Sophie didnt wake up earlier. Ella would have been up at the first whimper.
Ella has been spending the last few sundays with my MIL to get her use to being cared for. She doesnt seem to be eating for her...when i got home at 5 i fed her and she gulped down dinner and dessert - 4tbsp of chicken casserole and 2tbsp of custard. After her bath she had a huge BF. She's now in bed after 5mins of patting. She's dropped her late afternoon nap and is up from 2.30 to 6.30!!! She's done that for the last 3 days. It seems like a long stretch between naps but she just wont sleep at 4pm.
Fingers crossed we ALL get more sleep tonight.
Ann
Wow Ann, it's bizarre isnt it? Ella and Evie seem to be exactly the same with their sleeps.
Usually evie wakes up a couple of times in the first hour or two after being put to bed, but last night and tonight i fed her to sleep and then cuddled her for another 5mins and she seems to go down more 'peacefully' if that makes sense? the room seems a lot calmer for some reason. so i've just put her down for the second time in the hour since she's gone to bed so let's hope she stays asleep now!
evie dropped her afternoon sleep for a while too but i've been making sure she has it, like today she went to sleep at 420 and was up at 5, but was ready for bath and bed again by 6. so i'm thinking that i may have been waiting for her tired signs but they're coming too late. i need to put her down as soon as her eyes are all red, not when shes rubbing them and yawning.
thats just what i've worked out for this week anyways!
BTW girls, I was reading another post today from the 3rd of July about a mum who died from what appeared to be a blood clot in her heart. she was pregnant and so the baby also died, she leaves behind a 2 year old son. I thought we could all just keep them in our thoughts and prayers and remember whats so important..as we all seem to need to remind ourselves all the time. it doesnt matter if our babies dont eat or sleep, just that they have mummies and daddies that love them very very much.
Thanks
ur very right Tara, i read that post too and it just makes me so sad and i feel so lucky to have wat i have in my life!
i lost 3.2 kilos woo hoo :D
bad news girls - the chat room is now open till midnight, and possibly 24hrs...
back to no sleep....
i didnt need to know that lol hehehe now ill never get off here :P
Welldone on the weight loss Blanche :)
well done blanche!
grr another night of 'up every 1.5 hours'!! dh noted that this has only being going on since the weather got colder. which is true...but i have a heater going to take the edge off, she's in an all in one, with flannelette sheets and a blanket, i dont think she's too hot though. we have more on in our bed and it's not too hot. i'm getting a grobag this week so maybe i can put long sleeves and no legs on her...other than that i have no idea! any suggestions?
sophie spiked a temp of 40 last night!!!!!!! very scary so into a tepid bath inwhich she screamed the entire time to bring the temp down which it did thank goodness.
christy i would love some help.
he has always slept outside, his entire life, i did think about the fact that it's probably possums, but how do i stop that??? would love a PM thanks hun!!! he's a jack russell and he's 6
So sad when you hear stories like that Tara. Puts all the sleepless nights of rocking into perspective doesnt it.
Poor Sophie. Does she have any other cold like symptoms? Keep going with the baths and dress her down to bring that temp down. Also keep the panadol up.
We were up every 20mins from 10.30 - 1am. Patting her to sleep. I fell asleep sitting at the end of her cot. Then up again at 1.30 for the second feed of the night. After that she almost fell asleep on the boob. I popped her down and she did the rest. Then up at 5.30. I gave her a tiny feed rocked and patted for an hour. DH took over and she went the sleep in 15mins! Tara - can DH have a go settling Evie? I noticed she goes to sleep faster with him.
I'm trying to reverse her feeds so she feeds more during the day. Recently she's only been snacking during the day and guzzling the milk at night. Also been trying to feed her then have her play before putting her to bed. Hoping this will start to remove the feed to sleep association. Its hard as she's really become use to having a tummy full of milk to put her to bed but I think that's half the problem. So lots of rocking and patting to teach her that she doesnt need it. Then i guess reduce the patting and rocking...that's the plan anyway.
Ann
ann could she be feeding more at night because your supply is so much better????? she probably has to work harder during the day when your supply is naturally lower, fewer letdowns etc....maybe speck to barb in breastfeeding area or perhaps GP about tablets to boost your supply
love the pic too!!!
well just got sopjie down took 3 attempts so i know shes not well, dh at work today and it's 11.15 and i;m still in PJ's
woohoo *blanchie* that's awesome!!
ARghhhhhh when is pregnancy over.... ive hit the down fall.. and feel so damn sick today, Craig has had to do everything today and thankfully Chels has been an angel....slept all night, had naps today and drank all her bottles.
But poor Craig is feeling down... its our 1 year wedding anniversary, and although had no plans ive spent all day in bed sleeping. Ill have to make it up to him soon.
Yay Kim on 1 year! we had our a couple of months ago, but been together for 9 years anyways so it kinda was a non-event! Sorry to hear you're feeling so crappy though. have u tried those magnetic wrist bands? i dont really believe in that stuff but they seemed to kinda work for me. also #1 nausea-killer of all time is apple cider vinegar. just a cap-full in a little bit of water - tastes crappy but will settle your tummy everytime!
Ann - DH does settle her and that doesnt seem to make a difference. its wierd - she just wakes up crying and then wont go back down properly again. but then some nights when she's up every 3 hours for a feed, i can put her back down again and she's fine. i really is a riddle that i just cant seem to figure out
cute mood AJP..*wonder if there's a 'drunk' one?*
hehe tara!!!! if only.....mmmm i feel like a wine right now, pity i dont have any
Woo-Hoo!!! i worked it out!!!i've worked out why evie hasnt been sleeping! she doesnt like the all-in-one rompers that cover her feet!! the other night when she woke every 3 hours, but slept soundly inbetween i had put her in a romper with no feet, so last night, after an hour of crying and not settling i changed her into a long sleeve bodysuit with no legs and a pair of no-footed pants and voila! she slept from 930 til 2, had a little feed then when she started waking at 5;30 i put her in bed next to me and she went straight back to sleep until i got up at 7!! YAY!!!!
YAYAYAYYA Tara... something so simple!!
