Well I've had it. I'm making an appointment at the gp because I can not function on no sleep. Going make sure that there is nothing physically wrong with Aston - then if all good, cutting out the night - i love you mummy comfort feeds that have been happening, and teach this boy that night time is for sleeping - not having a party. last night was a bit better then the previous night, (got the bruers relief - so may have been that) until 3.30 when Aston decided that now was a really good time to awake - I sqwack and someone comes - flap flap flap big grin time to play.... so I knew there was nothing wrong other then I want to play with you mummy.... so I stroked his head, rolled him over on to his side, patted bottom - told Dh to go back to bed, theres nothing wrong with him - and he settled, and I got back into bed - walked into the door - both of them (which is prone to happen when you are so tired you have forgotten which way you were going - to or was it fro?) to have DH say - great, walk into the doors (you see - I was doing it on purpose which i snapped out at him. and he says "well at least you don't have to work tomorrow (now - this statement really gets my goat, because I have been telling him for over a week to sleep in the play room, as I can't see the point of BOTH of being completely shattered. There has to be at least ONE sane functioning person in a house of three kids!!) No where was I - before I starting ranting there.. oh yes .. i have to work statement... took umbrage to that one too - because I don't work... what I do all day, every day is just a stroll in the park, watching the grass grow, easy peasy not alot... remind me - how exactly do those clothes get from the dirty washing basket and back into my wardrobe?? or "how does that food get from the shop into my fridge then onto a plate in front of me - only for the kitchen to magically all clean itself again..." etc etc etc...
sorry ladies - i'm with you Kim and Blanche - i'm sending mine to Canberra too!!! arghhhhh
-
Forgot to say nelly - AF returned 4mths ago for me - which was a rude shock as it was a lot longer when I had Nathan... different with everyone - I was nine mths with Nathan, and 7mths with laura - but that was when I stopped breastfeeding completely with her, and she slept through from 6 weeks. Where as Nathan it stopped when he stopped night feeding (hmmmm I sense a pattern here nathan did the same thing Aston is doing now... uhhuh ... )
that aside - you could still be ovulating, and could fall pregnant if you knew when that was happening - if you are seriously considering trying again soon, means you don't have to wait for AF to return... if that makes sense...
-
Geezuz u chickies can talk!!!! j/k
Nelly- AF returned....hmm i guess straight away for me
Tara- Why am i in pain... good question.... since about 2am ive been getting cramps and pains all down my right side in into my pubic area.....yesterday bub was kicking alot on that side so not sure if thats got anything to do with it or not? Great to hear Evie seems to be getting better....so happy for you
Ann-Bugger your still having a tough time.
Vicky- Seems ur having a tough time still too....HUGS!
Im sorry if ive missed any one's important posts.... i cant think straight. Craig is coming home tonight now....im dreading it... i feel so shallow with how ive treated him the last few days.....i kinda feel embarrassed to see him. But i hope i can talk it thru with him and sort it out, he is just trying to do his best for our family and i went loopy!
-
Nelly - Mine returned when Ella was 7months.
Vicky - We went to see the GP and he was saying i need to try and get more sleep. Yeah Right. So we got a referral to Karitane after he gave Ella a clean bill of health. My back and wrists are aching from the rocking and patting - so I've gotta stop it. Hope your visit goes well and you get some relief from the night shenanigans.
Kim - Put it down to hormones. You are allowed to be loopy in your state. You just want to know you have his support...totally understandable.
Ann
-
Oh Vicky, you poor dear. come down for a drive and we can laugh and cry over our crazy kids together.
it's such a little gem isnt it? 'you dont have to work tomorrow'. i also like 'you get to sleep in...and sleep during the day when she sleeps'.....enough said. thats when i tell
a) Stop right there
b) you just dont get it, do you?
c) that couch is looking pretty comfy. i'd make myself at home if i were you
i have, however, heard mutterings of 'how the hell do you do this on your own' they were enough to satisfy me for a while.
but on a more serious side. even if the gp says everything is fine, that might be enough for you to relax and then aston will sense that you're relaxed. Maybe he's waking up because he can sense you're stressed when you go back to settle him and either doesnt feel "safe" to go back to sleep, or thinks 'hmm, something's up with mum, i'm going to stay up and see what happens'.
-
Oh Vicky I know how you feel... as for the "go to work" thing I know exactly what you mean. Similar thing happened here a few weeks ago I had that horrible vomit virus. Up all night vomiting said the DH pls don't go to work I can't do Jake today am totally washed out. Of course he goes to work bcos I am already at home so who needs to stay at home! I'l try to be home early... 4pm waltzes in and then has a nap!!!!!!! Guess who comes down with it 48hrs later and took 2 days off to recover? aaarrrrrggghhh! I need to sleep he says... can you pls get me a drink I'm totally washed out.... helllooooo try looking after a baby tooo!!!!!!!
anyways (deep breath straighten shoulders) good luck with settling the nights try to start on a Friday night so there is no work excuse. Good advice too tara...
Kimbaz hope ur ok - is it ligament or BH do you think? As for your behaviour you are pg for heavens sakes - you have more hormones running rampant in your body than a class full of 13 yr old boys - cut yourself some slack! And try to relax too no point getting all tense bcos I'm sure that sets the hornones into a frenzy and there goes your brain - well what's left of it atm... gosh the things pg does to you!
Hope everyone else's days are ok. We're off to dr soon for cough check up....
-
tara on the food front have you tried infant led weaning??? just give her the bowl and let her feed herself?? worth a try
-
i have been doing that actually, it seems to be going ok. she's still working on the swallowing thing? did everyone else's babies do that too? take a while to realise they can swallow it?
i think i need to add a touch of water so it isnt so gummy and that might make it easier to swallow
-
Vicky - thats wat we have been fighting about here, DP thinks i just sit on my fat ar*e all day (i wish) lol and when i ask him to do something he whinges and moans about it..very frustrating..things are better today though. hope Aston goes well tonight for u. :hugs:
Kim - hope things go well tonight hun.
Nelly - AF came back in 6 weeks :(
-
Tara - Emelia was/is a little piggy so she swallowed straight away!!
i wanna try some new foods with her but not sure wat?!
-
Good evening all how was your day mine was ok i went to work again and then had to catch up on some sleep my self clean the house go shopping and now relaxing befor Georgia wakes up for her bath
-
Yeh Georgia is the same she swallowed straight away too!!!!! but if she doesn't like the food she will spit it out like she is doing rasberries she is so checky
-
Thanks girls. I have been in contact with Craig a little earlier and things seem great. I said i was so sorry and that i went off for no reason etc.. and he was sorry how it all went but going to talk all about it when he gets home. ATM stuck in Canberra cos their flight cant get clearance to take off due to the weather...
-
Hey there girls!!
Kim I'm sorry to hear that Craig were bad, its great to see that you guys are working on resolving things. I don't know how I would cope with all of what is going on with you two & having an 8mth old & being pregnant. *hugs*
Us... well Jovie had a bout of croup this morning :( Its so awful. She woke up okay and was snotty and a bit chesty... but nothing much. DH had her up so I could sleep & I woke up & could hear this horrible wheezing sound. I came out of the bed room & she was coughing which sounded like a dog barking & wheezing. So I jumped into the shower with her to help settle it down, she fed and was happy but making a horrible sound so we went to the GP. By the time we were seen it settled more, and he said that it sounded like croup. To be honest it wasn't as bad as when Matilda had it. When Matilda had it, it sounded as though she couldn't breath at all & was gasping for breath... horrible.
Its awful croup. There isn't anything you can do for it but have some steroids in your fridge ready to go. Tonight she got wheezy again so we put on the vapouriser & gave her the steroids before bed. I know I'm not suppose to pre-empt croup, but I don't think I could go through it again.
-
Hey there everyone!
How did last night go for all? I managed to get Jake down and he was sleeping so soundly until his ****y daddy came home and "tiptoed" through the house on our wooden floors in his clodhoppers at 1am! He settled quickly tho and actually went through his usual 3am whinge and woke at 6 for a feed and cuddle. AM soo tired tho stayed up watching movies and made a pig of myself at a whole pizza and garlic bread.... sounded like a great idea at the time but now my insides are paying me for it!
Hoe is everyone elses sleep / feed challenges going?
Christy croup sounds so horrible - I hope she had a better night. Don't you have to pre-empt croup tho if the drugs take a couple of hours to work? What else can you do otherwise?
Kim - is Craig home ok? Gosh you are doing so well if ur pg and dealing with an 8mth old - the 8mth old is enough for me! Sorry I just realised that was what ur up against... my brain is a bit slow these days....
Leanne - what are your weekend plans?
*BLanchie* - have you tried casseroles with lentils and beans instead of meat? Or risottos, or couscous? Cous cous is a fave in our house :) He has also been loving his watermelon and banana atm, and sandwiches with philly cream cheese.
Tara - Jake swallowed really well from the start, but when we started lumpy food like whole peas and corn he'd kind of gag but figured it out pretty quickly. SOme foods tho he'll keep chewing on for hours like a cow with his cud of grass - yday has a piece of carrot in his mouth for about an hour after lunch!
Vicky - how did you go at dr? was last night any better?
Ann - how's the rocking and patting? any better sleep wise?
AJ - are you guys doing ok?
If I forgot anyone sorry! Have a good day - am going to try and get the groceries done today - again - no luck yday maybe today will be better.... except DH is golfing so he's no help. My nose is dripping like a tap so better go - hot shower might do the trick!
-
Had a better night here - the first time aston woke at 9.50 it took about half an hour for him to settle - the next time at 12 took 10mins, then he didn't wake til 4, which by this time my boobs were very full, so I gave him one side and he went back to sleep til 6, gave him the other side, went back to sleep til 7.2. but I had 4 hours sleep in a row, so I feel vaguely human today!! see how we go tonight....
-
well i really should be doing the housework!! we have 10 people for dinner tonight, DH managers from work for christmas in July!! luckily everyone is bringing something so the only thing we have to do are the vegies!!!DH gone to do shopping, me- on the puter!!! :shhh: dont tell him
Nelly got to hate pizza belly and morning garlic breath!!! hope you breathed all over DH for waking Jake!!!!
Vicky glad hun you got 4 hours sleep!!! does wonders for the body and mind!!!!
had the dreaded pap smear yesterday, things for me are still not quite right and it hurt!! mmmm better keep up the excersises hey!!
-
ewww the dreaded pap smear. I hate having them. did you go and have something yummy to eat afterwards, or buy yourself something special?? I think us girls should be nice to ourselves after having to do that.
hope you have a nice dinner Jols. Aston is snoozing at the moment, laura and nathan are helping DH with some odd jobs, and I'm enjoying having some time to me!!
just growled at DH though for coming inot my space and cleaning it! my study is the only room in the house that is a mess. but its my mess and I know where everything is. He is such a friggin clean freak. Shall I send him your way?
-
Yes please Vicky!!! he can teach my DP a thing or 2! friggin hopeless my man - things still not good here thought we sorted things out but nope :( ah well see how things go tonight.
had a terrible night with Emelia she woke every hour almost and had a bottle n play around 3am, back to sleep woke again at 5 :s but she then slept till 8 so im feeling alright atm tiredness will hit me bad this arvo.
have a good weekend Ladies
-
NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, DH is the same, a clean freak,he's a virgo and im a libra,i;m a little o n the messy side!! didnt treat myself, just treated sophie to some new nappies!!!
blanche i am very lucky, DH always helps with the hopusewsork, probably does more than me!!!! even cleans the toilets!!!!
-
u both are lucky, Leigh does nothing, not even dishes..he doesnt cook either :( his mum always did everything for him never made him clean or cook so i guess thats y hes like that. he will do something if i ask but not without a whinge and moan. very frustrating
i spoilt myself yesterday had a facial and got my eyebrows waxed!! was very nice to get away for an hour...went too quick though!!!
hope the dinner goes well.
-
lucky you on the facial etc, not so lucky on the naughty hubby. my first one was like that - had been spoilt by his mum. my boys will be independant self sufficient individuals if it kills me!!
Jols, make sure you get something for YOU!!!
I take it back about the study. looks kind of nice now, tidy. piles of tidy, but tidy lol
-
I've got an inbetween hubby. Somedays he gets anxious about the clutter & decides to go on a rampage through the house throwing things away & cleaning up the piles of junk... other weeks he can't see it. He does the dishes every night though, so thats helpful & he cooks every other night, he also sweeps the house a few times a week... can't complain too much ;)
Well... I just went to work & I'm tired now. I think I will go and clean up a bit though because we are having people over for a BBQ later.
I'm playing with the thought of doing cloth nappies. Modern cloth nappies.... they just seem so much easier now than they did when I had Matilda and was folding & soaking & washing... it got a bit much when Matilda was screaming with reflux 6 or so hours a day. Now that things have settled... cloth nappies seem like something I could manage.
-
go for it christy!!!!!!! i love my MCN such cute bums!!!!!! easier now too with more solid poo, no soaking no pins, much easier
-
Good night for us! woo-hoo 2 in a row. sleep at 615, woke at 9, 130 and 430 back in our bed til we had to go at 630 to drop dh at work.
looking forward to another good night! seems to be on the cards!
evie is grabbing onto everything to stand up and is taking a couple of steps...now i really cant leave her alone for two seconds. i'm paranoid something will fall on her!
-
Tara that is so good to hear! You must be starting to feel a bit human again soon! Jake has started pulling himself up too - his favourite climbing toy is mummy and he gets very upset if she doesn't cooperate!
My GF uses cloth nappies and she finds them really easy... do you need to soak them much? how many do you need to keep on hand?
I have a (usually) great husband who cooks nearly everynight if I can't be bothered and does the dished most nights. He helps wit the housework too and as long as he keeps cleaning the bathroom I don't care if he doesn't sweep ever again! There are some days however when he gets into his de-clutter mode and starts touching my stuff aaaarrrrrrggghhhhh! Even whe he is just tidying I have to hover just in case.
Well done Blanchie for spoiling yourself and Vicky I hope you slept when Aston did! Christy when did MAtilda's reflux settle - we tried weaning Jake off his meds but he isn't ready yet.
-
nelly with MCN there is no soaking involved just dry pail the nappies and wash every couple of days!!!!! easy peasy!!!
TARA gl;ad you had a better night!!!!
-
Howdy ladies...
A good night here as well. Except Chelsea now wakes at 5am each morning to ahve a chat and play. I ignore and she goes back to sleep. Finally went shopping and purchased a christening dress.. sooo beautiful!! She is going to look like a doll in it!
-
I bought cloth nappies before evie was born but ended up using them all as spew-rags as she did have/still has pretty bad reflux, but is a 'happy chucker'.
Kim - would love to see piccy of dress. Evie had a pretty summery dress for her Baptism too, I tried to put a pic on her online album but it's closing down (great after all that uploading!!!) so i have to make another one when i have a spare minute (ahhhhaaaa hahaaaa haaa)
Just put her down for the night - she couldnt stay awake but wouldnt go down for an arvo nap so it was just bath and bed. she didnt even want the usual 'mum stay and shh me to sleep' she was quite happy to go off on her own...but i still hovered shh'ing to make sure she's happy and sleeps through again!
-
Christy, i fear you have lost your happy spark and need a serious dose of a girly day. what can we do about this!? :grouphug:
-
tara glad that evie wnet down easily for you!!! sophie did too as 6.15 which was good as we have christmas in july here tonight so she's in the portacot in our room tonight, so i'm already tucking into a glass of wine!!!!!!!!
i'm in QLD hopefully in feb so we will all have to catch up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please!!!!!!!!!!! would love to meet you 3!!!!!!!
-
That would be great AJP!!!!!!! except our babies wont be babies anymore!!!! oh i cant even think about it!
2 hours and she's still asleep! woo-hoo! and we're in grobag tonight, so hopefully that was money well spent!
-
How cool that you are going to be up here Jols, definately have to organise a get together of some description.
I have made an appointment for Aston for the doctor because it suddenly dawned on me while i was wiping up spew for the umpteenth time that he should have grown out of this by now. I was speaking to my g/f who is a midwife and she agreed. cant hurt to get it checked out. could be part of the reason for his unsettledness???
hope i have as good a night as last night. and no I didn't sleep when he did Nelly - i'm having real trouble sleeping in the day at the moment. i can not relax to fall into sleep. I think I'm over tired....
but hopefully that is on the improve
-
Vicky, Chelsea still spews heaps....after bottles....my health nurse said its cos she has to much milk....(yet tells me im starving her..go figure).....but no matter how much or how little she still does it.
-
Vicky, im the same i cant sleep in the day, i think my problem is that i think whats the point Emelia will be awake in 5 mins and i just cant sleep!! funny thing is (well not really funny to me!!) that when i think nah i wont sleep she will wake as soon as i fall asleep, is usually when she will have a nice 2hr sleep arghh can never win !!!
-
well last night went really well, we have nice left over roast meat for lunch, and pudding and pumpkin pie for dessert!!!! just knackered, sophie went down at 6.15pm and woke at 4.15 fed and thought it was play time!!! so up we got at 5 am for about 1/2 before we all went bck to bed for a few hours!!! to as my mood says i'm sleepy!!!
-
last night wasnt too bad. asleep at 6, woke at 9 then i heard her crying at 11 but was asleep and obviously having a bad dream :( woke properly at 1 then again at 230 but her nappy had leaked so i changed her and put her in bed with us and she slept until the alarm went off at 545. now she doesnt like having long day naps! oh well cant win em all!
-
i'm over them all - kids, babies, husbands... heading for a desserted island somewhere where it is warm, with ****tails on hand, served by delicious looking men that don't talk! Anyone want to come with me????!!!!
-
mememememememe!!!!! see you there vicky!!!! oh what island???
-
