Hi girls sorry MIA sick in bed last day and a half .... will do personals tmrw.
Make room for me on the island!
Ella slept really badly Friday night. Woke up every hour again. When she woke up at 2am I said "No more rocking" i sat with her and patted and patted... she cried I played her lullaby, sang, stroked her cheek everything but rocking her. Offered her water and she then fell asleep after 2hrs and then woke up at 7am.
Saturday night - completely different. Woke for 10pm feed. Then again at 2am patted for 15mins and then again at 5.30 and patted again for 15mins. We then got up at 6.30 for breakfast.
Fingers crossed tonight will be good too. I start work tomorrow so i need sleep. :pray:
Tara - so glad you're finally getting sleep. Go Evie Go! We're also having less day sleeping too. Ella generally has 2 naps these days. By the time its bed time she's exhausted and grizzly.
Vicky - hope the GP sheds some light on the spewing thing and you guys get some rest soon.
Nelly - poor you. is it the flu? I've been feeling really run down (wonder why!!) and am achy all over. Time to dose up on the oranges and echinacea.

put evie to bed at grandparents this evening. what a gem, straight to sleep put her in the car 3 hrs later back to sleep and ive just fed her and put her in bed. now if only that freakin' nappy doesnt leak. it's not cos it's full its cos she sleeps on her side..she must pee with such force that it gushes out the sides ROFLMAO

Blanche - I'll save you a spot, promise. even though I feel better, I could still do with a couple of days of respite!

Aston slept last night from 7 -10.30 then til 4.30 - when I fed him from one side before my boob exploded! I actually feel almost human this morning!! at least I was up when the kids were getting ready this morning for school, and I know they liked it. each night over the past three nights has gradually improved, so fingers crossed it will continue to do so. Thank you thank you thank you nelly!! you gave me the courage to take the bull by the horns and make a stand.
Thank you to all of you actually, for listening to my venting, ranting and raving. I don't know what I do without you!!

ARGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH... wat happend to Chelsea last night :(
Bed at 830m...normal....cried til 915pm..not normal. Finally went to sleep... 1am.."Mama, mama"....get up dummy in tuck her back in, walk out...1.10 screams and crying... same thing aain dummy tuck in walk out..by 2am it got the better of me and bought her into our bed... thought it was playtime.. Every time Caig would dooze off, Chelsea would start closing her eyes.. UNTIL she heard daddy snoring...and then would play again. SO by 330 i was in tears, i was tired, i was loosing it with her...and i had to go sit in the lounge room rocking and patting her to sleep.. 5 mins max and she was out like a light. Came back to bed and started screamin at Craig cos i was so over it ad tired etc. Said next time she does it remind me to just go straight to the loungeroom o rock and pat!!
Of course...by 4pm im sill wide awake and feelin so sick...drifted off.. alarm went off at 630. Craig had to be at work early, i had my GTT and CHels had to be a care. SHe is so grizzly today... and ive just been vommiting from 630 til 730.. then as son as i arrived at the blood place threw up in the gardens... drank that glucose crappy drink and up that came too....
This is the worst day... sorry for no personals.. im goin back to bed!!!

We are having a problem bathing Emelia, she usually loves her baths...but now she sobs and trys to climb up me before i put her in then when she is in she screams :( i try giving her, her book which is her favourite bath toy but nope, its strange we just dont know y...she doesnt have a nappy rash or anything..ive been having to just quickly wash her and get her out and her cry is heartbreaking :s im going to try give her one this morning see how it goes!!

They go through phases with their baths. At least Matilda did. She is frightened of the drain atm :rolleyes: so it takes a lot of convincing. I take baths with the girls & they love it. Showers are a winner as well in this house. If we can't get Matilda into the bath, we'll get her into the shower.
I think I'm coming down with the cold :( sore throat & the like. I can't get Jovie to sleep today and I'm tired and want a rest....
Blanche - she hasn't got a UTI has she? her little vagina might be sore when it hits the water - just a thought -

Blanche - that is really wierd, i'd be inclined to think there was something making her uncomfortable, like a UTI, for her to be all of a sudden scared.
Sleep not too bad last night...230 nappy leaked so i put her in our room. i'll put the heater in her room tonight (it's an oil one, so its safe) and see if she'll sleep past 1am a bit better if it's a touch warmer. i sure hope so!
it's funny, she had 1 or 2 fantastic nights, then some really sh*tty ones now shes somewhere in the middle
Tara - we're the same here too. A few good nights waking but going back to sleep quite quickly. Then last night she woke up for 11pm feed and then at 3.30pm and wouldn't settle for 1.5hrs. argggghhhh but woke up at 7am. I'm paying for it today. I was ready for a nap at 11am but was at work!
Work is soooooo easy compared to taking care of Ella. Its just so familiar and feels like i never left. The hardest thing was leaving her in the morning. When i handed her to MIL her bottom lip fell and quivered followed by tears and crying. Oh i felt awful...

Still having better nights here, thank goodness. mind you I could quite happily throttle telsta. Just as I got aston settled after he woke at 12, took half an hour, telstra decided that it was the optimum time to send through a spam text massage to DH phone!! Not happy Jan! so after another half hour, he went back to sleep. Still not feeding in the night til after 4am. This morning it was 4.30am again, from one side, and he was back to sleep til 7.30.
I never know where I am going to find aston these days in the cot. the other end, on his belly, or hands and knees!! lol. so much for the grobag stopping him from moving around, not likely! I swear he practices crawling in his sleep. He is rolling around the study at the moment, scrunching up paper.
Hope you all had reasonable nights, and that for those of you who are sick, are feeling better at least.

I'm feeling the same level of sick today... sore throat. Jovie's better, but our night was atrocious. First Matilda woke up & had a tantrum in our bed because we wouldn't let her lay sideways :rolleyes: then I got her back to sleep & Jovie woke up, I fed her and then 30 minutes later Matilda wanted back in our bed. So we had 4 in the bed & Matilda kept kicking Jovie and woke her up. I fed Jovie again & then she fell asleep for 10 minutes and then Matilda wholloped her in her sleep (Matilda was asleep) so Jovie was up for the day at 5am. Urgh I feel like a space cadet... I'm going to lay down with Jovie for her arvo nap. Hopefully we will both get some sleep. I've got soup in the slow cooker & did some shopping so now its rest time. I even hand washed some knitted jumpers.... I'm on a roll. Just don't know whether its up or down ;)

Wow hope none of you get what I just had - it was terrible and am just starting to feel normal again and not just lie on the bed / couch / any handy surface and die. Unfortunately Jake has now come down with it and spent last night only sleeping 40 mins cycles and then waking cos he couldn't breathe from about midnight.
Took him to the dr this morning (again - should buy shares in his prac) but he has just got my bug and the antibiotics he was put onto on Fri for his chest will help make his ear inflammation we found this morning less severe. Plus when I was at the dr realised one of his top teeth just poking thu - what a bad mother! Not only do I overreact but I don't even notice he is teething! lol! Can't win!
It is good to hear most of the nights are starting to settle for everyone (except the few crappy ones they throw in to keep us on our toes). How is the feeding going too? Jake has picked up his 10am feed and 3am feed again bcos he hasn't been eating and has been refusing all drinking cups of various shapes sizes and styles.I could open my own baby feeding access store!

Christy how is the croup? Keep filling yourself up with vitamins and fruit and plenty of fluids!

Emelia still wont go in the big bath not even with me in there with her, so DP suggested trying her in her baby bath so got that out the cupboard!! tried her in it this morning.. she cried at first and tried climbing out, but then was fine...so might try again tonight in big bath! did try her in the shower too the other day and she hated that too!!

Yes the other night was just a freak night and we are back to sleeping our 12 hours again!! So glad there. But now she has decided she does not need to drink all her bottles...LOL
Im good here now...feelin much better. Craig was home today and he took me out to lunch and got Chelsea some new clothes. Had a good day. Bub been kicking up a storm and its a nice feeling but makin me feel a bit ill at the same time IYKWIM.
I think Craig will be moving withing the next 2 weeks si ill be alone. We have decided after changin minds million sof times im def stayin in Melb until mid November then making the move to Canberra with Chelsea and new bub!
Welcome back Robyn...all has been good our way, few hiccups but all sorting themselves out now!!

sleeping going better, bought one of those 'dummies' that has a pouch of mesh where the teat should be and u put food in it, so evie's loving that...dont know how much food she gets but shes working out the swallowing.
just seem to have been so busy these last couple of days....feel like ive been away from this forum for weeks!
i was just putting evie to bed and could hear wierd banging noises and stuff falling/being knocked over all round the house and i'm the only one home. i am so paranoid. i hate being home on my own, i am such a scaredy-britches!

Me too! I was sitting in Evie's room thinking what i could do, can i push out the flyscreen? can i make it to the back door? where the hell is the phone?! i also thought about sitting there for 2 hours until DH gets home and hoping that no burg-ular pokes their head in. it even crossed my mind that i would tell whoever was in my house that they could take whatever they wanted (except my sexy bod) but could they please not wake the baby.
I got the dummy from K-Mart but i've seen them in chemists. they're about $7. Tommee Tippee make them
hi all!!!! had DH home today mmmstil not sure if that was good or not!! just joking though he can be a bit of a pain :rolleyes: had swimming today which sophie loooovveesss we both end up saturated the moment we get in with all the splashing!! got home and the poor thing was buggered and slept for two hours!!!! the only time she sleeps that long!! food still going well, she sleeps better than before only woken once inthe past week during that first two hours which has been great, so the food must be keeping her asleep. i have been spending up on new MCN's which has been great fun and i love getting my fluffy mail every couple of days!!

We had a really crap night but I went to my 6am exercise class and I feel really good! Will probably crash in a heap with Jake when he goes down for his sleep! He is struggling with the flu waking every hour or so still and the poor sausage is just sitting up in his cot crying when you go in! Hopefully it won't last much longer.
Jake has started crawling for real now for a few steps before flopping back onto tummy and wants to walk before crawling I think - pulling himself up on everything! So he must be feeling better - must be the drugs! He still manages to get stuck in odd places - half under the couch is a current fave....
Sorry dumb quest - what's a MCN?

Christy - the secret is to go to sleep as soon as bubs go to sleep. Then you get heaps of sleep but you dont get any mummy & daddy time.
AJP - sophie sounds like she's really enjoying the swimming. We'll be doing that with Ella once the weather warms up.
Nelly - Glad to hear you're feeling better. how's Jake feeling? Has his tooth cut through?
Kim - Good to hear sleep has returned to normal. I guess she was just keeping you on your toes! ;)
Tara - LOL at not waking the baby! Hilarious. Keep a baseball bat with you honey...
Work is fine. Its easy compared to looking after Ella. She is with my MIL during the day and she just screams and cries when I leave. When i come back she cries the instant she sees me - as if she's just realised I havent been around. I then give her dinner and bath and put her to bed. She's still not drinking from a bottle so she misses one BF during the day.
Sleep is better in our camp too. She now settles in 10mins when we pop her down and place our hand on her leg. She still gets up at 10pm for a feed and stirs at 3am and 5am but its not such a drama as she goes back to sleep pretty easily.

Ann - working is a breeze isnt' after being at home with a baby. Wonderful that Ella is settling easier, Aston is too. and I am still not feeding him before 4am, today it was 4.50am - so the time is moving out. He was unsettled more in the night, but went back to sleep quickly.
Nelly - poor bubba boy. breaks your heart doesnt it! Woohoo on the crawling though. Aston is stil getting frustrated at not going in the direction he wants to be going in. anyday now he will suddenly go forward, and that will be it! He has started waving though, and clappng his hands. which is very cute. :)
Christy - glad you got a relatively better night last night. Doesnt it feel like a gift when you get consecutive hours sleep after you had crappy nights for a while?
AJP - we start swimming on Friday. I'm a bit apprehensive about getting the old body beautiful out. Must find a pair of boardies before Friday!! And I must have a conversation with you about MCN. Are thinking of switching, but want to do the economics first...

Me - had two hours all to myself this morning. Realised as I left the hosue that it is the first time that ASton has been left with anyone and either DH, DD or DS weren't with him! He was a good boy, slept for an hour, had lunch, and then was playing when I got home. It was nice because I got the I'm so excited to see you that DH gets every evening! I went op shopping and got some great stuff - 2 jumpers, 2 tops skirt and pair of jean for $55 - the skirt and one of the jumpers were brand new! So i'm a happy bunny.
Ann. MCN's are modern cloth nappies.
Vicky I was thinking of having a baby behinds party (sort of like a tupperware party) just to have the demo & costs figured out for our situation. Maybe I should have one as a BB meet up???
