Oh Tara hun... HUGS! Your under an awful lot of stress atm. I hope things can get better. Maybe once your at IL's house they can give you your much needed rest. I hope things pull through. We have one car but i always have it. Craig gets a lift to work each day. Only ocassionally i have to drop him off at the train station. I also dont have the 'night' shift that you have so i feel sorry for you there too.
WTG Emelia!!!!! Cant wait to hear how much she has grown this time! We get weighed (lol... both of us too) next week.
Oh the countdown begins to being alone for 2 weeks has begun....only 10 days now :(
-
Oh Hugs tara, and lots of them. I can relate to how you are feeling darlin, its exactly where I was about two weeks ago. I hope things improve soon darlin. feel free to msn me if youneed someone to vent too!

I agree with AJP - ver good looking babies we all have!
Thanks everyone for tips with solids. We will keep trying things. I had already found that feeding him from my fingers works a touch better than spoon or letting him do it himself (very messy!!!).
Tara - huge hugs to you. sometimes men just don't "get it".Sounds like you are doing it very tough and certainly deserving of some "you" time. Try to explain to DP that ou are not doing your best job as a mum or partner if you are not looking after yourself first.
My DH and agrue A LOT more than we ever used to. Being tired and cranky doesn't help and there just isn' the time to spend on each other. never mind the sex issues (his complaint over lack thereof!!!!)
Blanchie - WTG emelia on the crawling despite her arm. Logan has no disability and still not succeeding to crawl.
Kim - do you know what colour no 2 is yet or have i missed that somewhere?
Anyone up with their baby in the wee hours can think of us too. You will not be alone! Not much sleeping going on at night here either. Don't think we'll have a full nights sleep until he's 10!!
-
LOL Meredith.... you have not missed the colour of bubby....its a secret...but i do know what we are having...all the lovely ladies have been having guesses...a few have to be right in the end!
I have lovely Vicky doing my announcement for me so i cant wait to spill the beans!
Finally went shopping today and found a splash mat for under Missy Moo's high chair!! Woolies have em for $12.95...were a NEW line...But....i never got it cos i kinda spent to much money as it was on food we prob didnt need!! And i ordered Chelsea's baptism cake and they wanted full payment...
-
I do feel a lot better now, thanks girls. I do have a wonderful DH and he really isnt like a lot of other men so sometimes i feel flustered when i realise he is typical in 'just not getting it' sometimes.
i am a huge advocate of men are from mars, women are from venus...guys are fixers. dh said to me today, from now on if you're ****ed off yell at me then dont brood over it! so thats an invitation as far as i'm concerned!
I think we have teeth on the way. evie is sooooo grizzly and chompy and runny nose and just not herself. poor honey, i gave her some panadol so hopefully that will give her a bit more sleep. but she was so tired today she's in bed already
Meredith, are u on msn or anything? i wanted to ask you about your thoughts on solids since you seem to be having as much luck as me :)

Forgot to add... i found the baby yoghurt.... well the price for them.. they had SOLD OUT!!! I was fuming! Seen the Pauls brand thats ok from 6 months but didnt like the sound of the flavours....so i missed out and kept walking!

Good evening ladies,
It is absolutely p!ssing down with rain at the moment, its been raining full on for the past week and Xander is going totally spare coz he cant go outside, he really needs to run outside at least once a day.
Havent posted for a week as I've been too tired to even turn the computer on, I dont know why as Baylee has been sleeping a little bit better lately, only waking twice a night, maybe I'm getting too much sleep??
I buy Heinz yogurt in the jars, its great coz you can take it out with you and it doesn't have to stay in the fridge. Baylee loooves it, but he loves all food. He's such a piglet, he'll eat Xanders scraps off the floor if Im not quick enough.
Tara - I hope all is better. I agree with the whole men are from mars thing, I had an argument recently with my DH and I ended up saying to him "I dont want you to fix it, I just want you to understand how Im feeling", he still didnt get it.
Kim - I picked up a splash mat for my boys at a $2 shop, for only $2. (What a surprise $2 at a $2 shop LOL) So if it gets trashed it doesnt matter, its cheap.
I hope everyone else is doing good and we all get lots of ZZZ's tonight. C'mon Mr Sandman.

Gezz i've missed out on so much!
Baby yoghurt - Ella eats it a tub at a time. She has Valia. Banana yoghurt. Loves it.
Tara - Honey! I'm so sad for you. Fingers crossed things get better. Since we've stopped feeding Ella at night its been better but it took about 6 days to get her used to it. The 1st night we stopped it was tough. The 2nd night better, the 3rd and 4th was worse! and then the 5th night was better and better. Now it only takes us 10-15 mins to settle her back to sleep.
Scream and cry just let it out - i say. I've never been as emotional as this but i think that's the only thing some men understand... ;)
Kim - we've gotta get a splat mat too. Ella wants to feed herself and it gets EVERYWHERE.
Guess what!? Ella's started rolling over. LOL some of your babies are crawling and standing and Ella's finally rolling!!! At least she's doing it now. Its so funny it takes her ages to roll and she closes her eyes in anticipation of her head hitting the floor. Going to put a movie of it on the blog.
My MIL has got me a ticket to Priscilla this weekend. So i'm leaving DH on baby duty. :)

How did everyone go about stopping night feeds? Evie seems to just want it as a habit, i know she doesnt take a lot, except for maybe 1 or 2 where she fills her little belly up.
I'm a bit dubious though about stopping feeding at night because she isnt eating enough solid stuff to fill her and last her out all night, so sometimes when she wakes up she is hungry.
Anyways, shes been asleep since 540, so we're on a good wicket for the mo.
i'm tired of thinking!
btw things much better this evening with me and dh, seems back to normal. i'm compromising on me going to work, i said i'll try it and see how i go. but a friend of dh's said he's got some work coming up where i'll be able to work from home so thats promising, but not for a couple of months.
-
hi all, glad your bad tara and things get better for you and DH, hopefully working from home also works out!!!
at inlaws this weekend, sophies sleeping in our room which will be interesting.
had to stop yogurt after we think it curdled in her tummy last nigh, she was very unsettled from 8-11!! so back to custard tonight
we got our new car on thursday, so different to drive!!!

Lugh and I
Hi All,
I know it has been ages. I just wanted to drop by and say that I hope your babies are well. Since I broke my arm, I have moved house and been to NZ. I feel soooooo tired. Also Lugh is back to his old tricks at night, so I am up waiting for him to sleep, argghhhh.
He is and has always been, a terrible sleeper.
However, he would eat absolutley anything and he is crawling and for the last month, cruising, so the lack of sleep certainly isn't slowling him down.
I hope you are well, and my thoughts go out to those of you up tonight ...
-
Hi Olivia good to hear from you again. What a year you've had. How's the arm now?
AJP - how did you know it curdled in her tummy? I sometimes wonder about the same thing with Ella.
Tara - We stopped feeding in the night after the GP and a health nurse saw Ella. it was a viscious cycle. She wasnt eating/feeding during the day and wanted to feed at night. We had to break the cycle since she was losing weight and i was losing my mind...
It took about 6 days as i mentioned. DH and I prepared ourselves for sleepless nights when she would wake and want to feed - we rocked, patted, sang anything to get her back to sleep. She woke up every 30mins the first night but in the morning she instantly feed/ate better. The next night we did the same thing...for the next 6 days. She still wakes up during the night but its because she's lost the dummy... That's the next thing we need to wean her off...
Tara if you want to chat let me know - I'm on MSN.

Blanche - Ella is still 7.7kg!

Hi everyone!
We are back to having nights with just one squawk a quick pat and back to sleep - thank goodness!
Hi Olivia I'm nelly lovely to meet you!!
AJ - we thought the same with Jake so he has yoghurt with his lunch and custard after his dinner. He settled heaps better after we went back to that - maybe the custard is gentler?
Tara - we also stopped feeding during the night after my near breakdown I have rambled about prev in our threads and after the first night of bellowing he settled into sleeping through with just one wake up on average per night. He was eating heaps through the day and his bf at night was just bcos he thought it was a nicer way to go back to sleep! :)
Ann does Ella feed herself with a spoon yet? Jake is doing the finger food but have hesitated letting him do the spoon himself... scared of the mess I think!
Robyn I know what you mean we both go spare if we can't go outside at least once during the day.
Kim I know exactly what you mean about spending tooo much money on food you prob don't need! But how expensive are fruit and veges atm!!! I couldn't believe it - it is more expensive to eat healthy food than it is to eat junk!
Vicky - how is Aston going with his teeth / sleeping and the green nose? Has it settled down?
Hello to everyone else and sorry if I missed you. Hope the sleep fairy visited your homes!
-
hehe Ella looks so cute rolling!
-
We had a good night here too only woke a few times for dummy.

Hey have you girls seen the email about a ball pit?
Not sure if it is another urban myth but it makes you think.....
Hi. My name is Lauren Archer, my son Kevin and I lived in Melbourne, Australia.
On October 2nd, 1999, I took my only son to McDonald's for his 3rd birthday.
After he finished lunch, I allowed him to play in the ball pit. When he started whining later on, I asked him what was wrong, he pointed to the back of his pull-up and simply said "Mommy, it hurts." I could not find anything wrong with him at that time. I bathed him when we got home, and it was at that point when I found a welt on his left buttock.
Upon investigating, it seemed as if there was something like a splinter under
The welt. I made an appointment to see the doctor the next day, but soon he started vomiting and shaking, then his eyes rolled back into his head. From there, we went to the emergency room. He died later that night.
It turned out that the welt on his buttock was the tip of a hypodermic needle that had broken off inside.
The autopsy revealed that Kevin had died from a heroine overdose. The next week, the police removed the balls from the ball pit. There was rotten food, several hypodermic needles: some full, some used; knives, half-eaten candy, diapers, faeces, and the stench of urine.
Do not think it is just McDonald's either. A little boy had been playing in a ball pit @ a Burger King & started complaining of his legs hurting. He later died too. He was found to have snakebites all over his legs & buttocks. When they cleaned the ball pit, they found that there was a snake's nest in the ball pit. He had suffered numerous bites from a very poisonous snake.
