Vicky - very sad indeed. It does put all our lives into perspective doesnt it.
Gigi - I think its quite natural for them to enjoy floating around in water KWIM. Ella loves the warm indoor pools hates the outdoor pools. Just Whack a swimmer nappy on her and take the plunge haha. Poo and all.
Ella's favourite place to poo is in the bath. The number of time's i've had to re-run and re-run the bath! Just the other day we finished the bath, I picked her up and there was a poo. So i dunked her into the basin and washed her again.
We'll probably start trying next year. Can't wait actually...am i mental??

I'm sorry to hear your news Vicky, and it's sad that it always takes something like that for us to take a step back.
we've been having a crappy couple of nights here. obviously teeth are the problem. but this afternoon/evening she's been rubbing her eyes heaps, they are so red, and her nose is just running (which i know is related to teething) and she cant stop sneezing.
Has anyone heard of red/sore eyes being associated with teething?
-
i'd say more like a cold or allergy tara
-
:hugs: vicky - if you need someone to bounce things off just call or pm me... I lost my mum to an aggressive cancer - she was diagnosed end of August and died mid June - in ten very fast months.
Jakey is going well - he slept through again last night with just one squawk and he resettled himself but he is still waking at 5.30 and it is killing me!! I've tried putting him to bed later but he just wakes at teh same time crankier than ever... the last fews days he has dropped his second sleep and it is on those days he seems to sleep through better... on average ... having said that he will prob be feral day and night now sleep or no sleep....
Tara I'd say an allergy - have you any wattle, jasmine or stinky flowers growing around or near your house. It sets me off every spring.
Qld meet up will be next Wednesday would you prefer Southbank it is easier for public transport and there is the beach and lagoon, plus places to buy lunch... more convenient I guess.
-
Thats what i thought too. but it only just started yesterday....wierd. and there's nothing different around
-
I've seen the runny eyes/nose with teething before as well... so keep watch. It doesn't necessarily have to be a tree in your yard, could be anywhere in your street too... poor sausage.
-
oh great. poor little peapod. i'm hoping it's just teeth. dont they say that teething patterns are hereditary?
-
Chelsea has been sneezing non stop this morning now as well.....
-
Im sneezing non stop today!! i have a stupid cold.
-
Hmmm could it be anything new you're using in the house? Then again ella rubs her eyes a lot when she's upset, sleep, hungry or teething.....
We're going well here too. Back to settling herself. We have our bath and massage followed by boobs and a book. Then she goes into her cot and mucks around for 15-20mins before going to sleep. God i'm so glad she's doing that again but i'm sure it could change in a flash.
Little Ella has dropped her night feed i think. She doesnt wake up at 10-11pm anymore - well for the last few weeks - grizzles around 3-5am and then goes back to sleep.
I've been eating badly for the last week. Too much chocolates and bikkies... Ella must be enjoying it :)

evie's having a lot of trouble settling at night, but i was only up at 11, 2 and 4 then back in our bed so thats fine. i think this separation anxiety is a bit of a b*tch too

sorry to hear about friend with cancer Vicky, i hear you on the perspective thang.
Taralee, gee Evie is very keen on her mummy right now. you must be exhausted.
bilbs is pretty clingy too atm, can't wait to get the Big Playpen that is coming. the portacot is not working very well, now she can crawl, she gets so bored in portacot. I cannot hold her all day! but it's that or have conniptions of what she will get into if i let her go.
-
gigi, i got a great 'activity centre' from target. they stand up in it and the 'floor' bounces and makes sounds when the stamp and it has 3 different toys attached around the top. the chair also swivels 360degrees. it's great for just popping evie in while i do stuff - except now she's clued on to the fact that when i put her in it that i'm not giving her 100% attention so she protests a bit now.
It's a bright starts one, i got it for about $70 at 50% off, but they are always having sales on things like that.
Either way, might be something different for you to try to keep bilby amused!
-
Wish Emelia would go in hers Tara LOL she hates it now, because she cant get out and move!!! She wanders around house all day now!! she took one step last night without holding on to me, then fell on her tooshie :)

well after feeling down and out recently, i *think/hope* i've sorted out sophie and her standing in bed!!!!!!!! started yesterday with a technique from Tizzie Hall and continued today and has improved out of site!!! will see how the coming days go though!
-
Let me know how u go Jols, would love to know wat technique and if it works.
-
I think its cute when Chelsea stands in bed.. she feels and looks so proud of what she is doing!!
-
me too jols would like to know your tech even if it doesn't work
-
Kim it is cute but not after an hour or 2 LOL
-
the standing in bed doesnt bother me so much - its this rolling over!!!
tonight when i put her to bed (she didnt want my help *sniffle*) she rolled onto her belly and stayed there asleep for a sec then rolled back onto her back and bumped into the side (the airwrap had slid down) and then settled on her side, at each point i'd give her a little pat and say 'good girl, it's okay'. so i'm hoping that she'll start to feel ok about rolling over and not freak out!
-
well after it working for two days it didnt this arvo!! but i will keep at it!!
what you do
1. put to bed, walk out, as soon as they stand up put them back down walk out, do this 15 times
2. after the 15th time, walk out for 15 mins
3. go back in and put back down, stay in the room and keep putting down until they fall asleep.
yesterday only has to do the first two steps and the start of the third and she went strasight to sleep
this morning and did the first step 3 times and she went to sleep, lunchtime first two steps then slept, but wouldnt have a bar of it this arvo!!!
-
Oh i'm coming in late but here goes 5am, 20th of Oct 3.5kg, 50cm - Go kim! So excited for you.
We dont have any standing problems here - so enjoying the peace and quiet. :) LOL (dont know why we are going to the physio then)
When she stands up holding onto my hands she is really quick to plonk back down on her bum.
Ann
-
Ann wats the gender guess??
Not sure that would work with Chelsea Jols......might try!!
-
hmmm.... my guess is 20th 4.58pm boy 7lb2oz 51cm
touch wood... but at the moment Aston is sleeping well...the whole going to sleep thing that is... I put him in his cot, say night night, stroke his head for 2secs, kiss his cheek, turn the mobile on and walk out. I think 7/10 times that's it, and if I have to go in, it is usually only once.... Now the sleeping through the night thing is a whole different matter. he will settle... just wish he wouldn't wake... maybe I should not go in tonight and see what happens... fingers crossed.
-
We still rock to sleep... with both girls going to bed its hard sometimes in teh same room, we don't want Jovie to wake up Matilda or vice versa. It only takes a few minutes though... so we don't have to worry about rolling or standing up because she's so tired. I think if she was more awake when we'd put her down she'd be up. Sometimes if Matilda wakes her up we find her sitting up in the cot crying... but thats a rarity LOL
My guess: girl 17th September, 3pm 7lb 15oz and 50cm head circ 34cm
-
It will be interesting to see if any of us come close with these guesses!!
Every night Craig and i walk into Chelsea's room, Craig kisses her good night, then me, place her in the cot, give dummy, turn off side light and i say 'Mummy loves you see you in the morning baby', walk out and shut the door. She is fine and sleeps no worries....maybe she lays there but not a peep out of her at all 9/10!
Then when we got to bed just check she is covered over and all is good.
-
no more waking up so far! i actually had to go in to make sure she was ok. snoring away!
-
