oh nelly that would be great!! But ah... its DH's birthday & I've just dropped Jovie & Matilda at FDC and we are going to Sirromet for lunch!! WOO HOO!! Its a beautiful winery set on a rainforest... lovely.
I'd better jump in the shower. Last night was okay, I slept through her waking up & DH gave her a bottle for me. She slept until 5.45 which is the best this week....
-
I'm so sorry you guys are having trouble with sleeps Blanche and Christy. I really really know how you feel. I put a pillow and blanket on evie's bedroom floor and sometimes just a 10min power nap can do you the world of good
-
ooh Christy am very very jealous!!!!!

Luua - yes, the people of Burma have put up with so much, it's amazing the difference the internet is making to their cause, i'm so glad about that. I keep hoping that the democracy leader under house arrest, i can never spell her name, but i hope, just like Nelson Mandela being in prison for 27 years, then becoming President, i want that to happen to her in Burma.
Great to hear improvements in sleep for some of you. We got up to five hours last night, from the usual four hours in the last bit. STill the usual two hour gaps before that, but at least the long one was five. so i'm grateful for that.
bilbs said dad da for the first time, her first words! last night. Great that she said them while big sister was visiting too. They get on beautifully. Esp considering big sis sleeps in the nursery, so we have to put on the light when changing bilby after big sis is in bed, and she doesn't complain.
Vicky, if you wanna vent about your mother/MIL, i forget which it was, go ahead hon!
Padding at the beach sounds idyllic, haven't done that since the summer of 06/07! Last summer i was too unwell with c-section dramas.
Enjoy the lovely winery Christy, sounds so idyllic.
What has happened to your webstore AJP? has something happened that i missed?
Yes, if i could sew, sewing would be a very good use of time! I'd love to sew one of those reversible smocks/pinnies for bilbs in some funky fabric. Appplique a bilby onto it (if i had a clue how to even do that!!!)
Nelly how is your dishwashing tablet eating bub doing? wot a scare? Glad for you Darren is home now. I cannot imagine parenting on my own (although i'm sure you adapt when you have to). Congrats on Jakes first step too, that's great!
It;s sexual discrimination under the EO legislation to ask an employee those questions LUAA. your boss is being illegal (how unusual, under this new climate of IR laws). This is all reminding me of living in Thatcher's Britain of the late 80's. i went there on a working holiday, and found it frightening how little rights the workers had, silly me though Australia would never be like that.
i'm not finally over the gastro i think, 4kg lighter and able to fit into clothes i thought i'd have to get rid of! i might as well enjoy it while it lasts! i'm sure i'll put the 4kg back on now i can eat again. 4kg seems quite a bit to lose to me, but it NEVER goes off my thighs!!!!! grrrr.

It was beautiful... idyllic setting, lunch on a beautiful verandah overlooking green hills & vines and the bay in the distance.... wonderful food & some noice wine. They brought little tastes out while we were having lunch. The waiter asked who was driving first & served accordingly!!

Jake walked today!! At first it was a step or two, then he walked about a metre to me! And Darren had just come home so he was there for the first steps!!
-
wow how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a proud moment!!
-
Woah Nelly! How proud are you? What a clever boy.
AJP - Poor hubby. Lots of gatorade for him and rest. Just wash your hands a lot to protect yourself.
Christy - lunch sounded lovely and very considerate. One glass of wine tips me over the edge these days.
Ann
-
ann i have been wiping everything he touches with pinocleen!! big sooks men are!!
-
Wow! Nelly that;s so exciting!
Christy - that sounds just like what we need! beautiful day for it too!
Jols - we women are such resilient creatures, arent we! And as soon as those men get sick they can't do anything at all for themselves! not to mention, we can do it martini in hand!
Took 45mins to get evie down tonight. She was soooooo tired but just kept standing up at the edge of the cot. but sooo cute, she climbed up to cuddle me then grabbed my hand and lay back down so she tried to go off to sleep holding my hand! then she put my hand on her head so i would stroke her 'hair'. oh so lovely! but so hard! everytime i thought she was asleep, she'd get up and crawl around. anyways, i think she's been sleeping better since i;ve been making her go to sleep in her cot rather than me rocking her and then putting her down once she's already asleep. hope i didnt just jinx myself!! 1.5hrs so far and no peeps!
-
Yay Jake.. thats wat Emelia is doing she walks pretty far now and is starting to walk alot more than crawling, its so cute hey?!
-
YAY Jake!!! Walking, wow.... they are growing up so fast.
Jovie starting thinking about going from one place to the next but is not game at all. I'm happy with her staying like that. She's started trying to go head first down stairs though... luckily we have none in the house.
-
well blacking out the windows didnt seem to help either! she woke at 4am and i gave her a little feed and thought 'sweet that might help her sleep a bit longer' but 509 rolled around and she was wide awake!
ahhh, nevermind! she had a huge lunchtime nap and we are having such a beautiful together just me and her so what more could i ask for! (a little chocolate wouldnt go astray!)

I have now grown to hate Saturdays - one of my two "days off" - because Darren has gone back to playing stupid cricket every Saturday from 12. At first I didn't mind I thought I could catch up with people but the thing is weekends are family time and most of my friends have kids now and I feel I am interrupting family time. I probably wouldn't be feeling so down if I wasn't missing mum so much - I get so jealous of people who have their parents there for them. This would be when I could pop round and see her and then cricket on Saturday wouldn't be an issue... I also get really aggro.... it sucks she should be here it shouldn't have been her who died she was just getting her life back and it was snatched away. She's missed both of her daughter's childrens' birth, one wedding (mine) and who knows what else. I guess this isn't just about Saturdays after all.... sorry to get that out onto you just feeling down and out and honestly am today sick of spending my time with a child... it will pass but that is my b!tch today.... my husband should be here with his family or I should at least be with mine but there is no one here... now slipping into self pity... mmmm... time to slap myself out of it
-
awww nelly it sucks doenst it! no fair, they just dont see it the same way we do.
sorry to hear you mum is not around for you, i bet you miss just popping in for a cuppa. big hugs to you.
