We must all be a bit blah atm... its hopefully the time of year? Or maybe just exhaustion after the last year...

who else is due for AF this weekend??? maybe its something to do woth that, or is it a full moon!?!?! who knows!!
What's going on??
Ella slept a total of 1.5hrs! she usually has 3! She is just fighting the zzz's.
We had her shots today. She went well and only cried/screamed at the one in her leg. Now we're just waiting for the fever... Our GP said Ella has to start moving in the next few months. So its tummy-time all the time.
Ann
Im kinda back but still feel as crap. Chelsea slept for 4 hours this afternoon....and was still tired!
Glad your feeling bit better Jols....maybe AF will return this weekend for me...who knows..LOL.
I still haven't had AF....I had some cramping last night but I think it was O cramping... hey maybe I'll be pregnant again before AF comes!!! Nah.... we'd have to have sex for that to happen...
Mine will be coming along in a week. I get them every month now....:(
im so glad mine wont be here for a while :P
Ann wat did the doctor say if Ella isnt moving around in the next few months?
LOL thats wat i kept saying Blanche...now i guess ill have to deal with AF for a while :(
u could always have a another bub Kim, hehehe!!
snap AJP and Luaa - i'm due soon too (AF)
Luua - that sounds alot of pressure from your GP - i'm sure she'll get moving when she's ready, every bub is different at the ages they do stuff. Bilby isn't walking (unaided). She's behind in the solids department, but i'm trying to be ok with that. At least she ate broccoli today, didn't like it, but ate it.
Blanchie - enjoy staring at your ring hon! such excitement! cool!
Christy - LOL, no DTD here either!!! DH has said, no 2nd baby, so "fine", no nothing from me then!!
Kim, are suffering some postnatal pain hon? Surely you should get a break from AF more than a month!!!! i got a break of four months, but it has taken a year to come back as a normal AF, was sooooo light for ages, thought i was going thru early menopause!!! (sorry if this is TMI!!).
Oh Blanche dont tempt me!!!!
Gigi i would love a bit longer of a break from AF...ill see how we go. I guess i never got a break after Chelsea other wise miss Jasmine wouldnt be with us so soon after her arrival :P
poo poo poo...aston is sick again! had that horrible cough that is very croupy. had to get the bathroom all steamy last night at 2am to help...which thank god it did, otherwise I think we would have been taking a trip to the hospital. so over the sickness...go away germs!!! so no swimming lessons today for us...and its his party tomorrow...boo hoo...no fair
Your house isnt having much luck health wise Vicky. I wish everyone a speedy recovery and i hope the nasty germs leave soon.
We were up most of the night with high temp, panadol did absolutely nothing but nurofen did thank goodness. she slept in our bed quite happily but now doesnt want to go down for a nap and we were doing so well with self settling :( all out the window...isnt it always the way?!?!?
i hear ya tara, just when you think you've come throught that long dark tunnel, the end is in site, it lasts just a little longer!!!
bleuh bleuh here too... second AF this month just feel yuck so enjoyed my almost 2 yrs off from this.....
vicky I hope Jake didn't give it to him :( sorry
we've been fighting the second sleep here too.... at least last night was back to normal and he slept in his own bed, resettled himself after a cry this morning and went from 7 -7 ... sorry those with crap nights don't mean to make you feel worse I know how you are feeling ....
:( Nelly i just wish i could get an all night sleep but i cant bear going thru tears to get it :(
Does anyone have a recipe for muesli bars or something similar? (for baby...altho i'll probably eat them too)
tara i really dont want to believe in controlled crying but, it really is a life saver!! we never let sophie go more than 5 minutes and she only takes a few time to real;ise that she in bed to stay, we've been very lucky and barley had to do it, but we do when she get on top of us, it just takes usually 3 goes of it at a sleep for her to realise that im boss
i got my ring back today!!! there is a pic of it in my BB gallery :) i cant stop looking at it hehe
Taralee, Jols - we're the same. We really only had to do one night where he had a scream, we went in every 5 mins (well Darren did hence I think why it is also so successful bcos the easily manipulated milk truck isn't there) and he settles really well usually. When he is sick he may not sleep or settle as well but once well he bounces back into his old like he did last night.
looks awesome blanche, do you find your self playing with it???? i still play with my rings!!! 7 years later!!!
nelly dh does the resettling in the night if she waks as she knows i'll feed her!! wrong!!!
having probs again this arvo getting ehr to sleep!! fun fun fun!!
beautfiul blanchie!
Jols we are the same Jake comes and puts his head in my lap when he is tired and I say "sleepytime" and he makes a cough-cry-yes sound that mean s yep I am tired. He did that we did the story (sleep cue) and put him down ... he was quiet for a few mins an I thought yay it worked ... then waaaaaaahhhhhhhh ... no sleep thanks
arrh shes asleep!! after 45 mins of fart arsing around, then whinging for 15 mins, i did 3 mins of controlled crying and shes asleep!!
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep.
I thought we had it under control. Although Ella doesnt know how to crawl/walk/bum shuffle; She knows how to sleep.
But she fights it some days. Thursday is usually bad as she hasnt seen me all week so she'll want to stay up and play. Yesterday it took us 1.5hrs! then she only had 30mins before rushing off to the GP for her shots.
Today-completely different. Head on my shoulder and i say OK nigh nigh. And she rolled over in the cot and went to sleep.
I wonder what kind of baby she'll be tomorrow.
Blanchie - Gorgeous.
Our GP said if she doesnt move in the next few months i will need to see a pediatrician! $200.
She made me feel like i was being soft on Ella. Coz she hates tummy time, she either rolls straight back over or she screams and breaks out in a sweat.
We'll we did a lot of tummy time and i found i keep changing the scenery ie. in the living room, kitchen, bed room, friends place. she'll stay on her tummy. I gotta say i'm a bit worried she doesnt move. Doesnt she want to reach things? hmmmm getting a bit panicky.
Ann
ann can you bribe her with somthing to make her move?? food, remote??? try puttting her on her tummy infront of a full length mirror so she can look at herself!!
do she bear weight at all???
anyones elses kids obsessed with curtains??? sophie would spend all day in them if she could!!
AJP, i sometimes do CC but its never longer than 3 mins! always works
oh had Emelias appt with MCHN and she now weighs 11.5kgs, she was 11.18 last time and that was 2 months ago so her weight is slowing down heaps..she is actually on a line now ahaha the 97th pertictile LOL she is is 76.5cms long and hc 47 cms!!
Emelia had one of her tantrums in there (cos i told her no when she tried getting my phone out the bag) and the HN said ppl think they just get "terrible twos" but she said they get "terrible ones" too!! i have to agree!!
Wow Emelia is a nice size!
I dont have a check up until the 11/12 for Chelsea...seems so far away.
Was ment to have one today for Jasmine so i can see how her hip is going, but the nurse called in sick. Man i was peeved about it. Means another 3 days of hell waiting :(
Chelsea likes the blinds more then the curtains....i swear she is going to break them soon!
oh bummer Kim, hope all goes well at the appt.
We dont have curtins just blinds and she used to pull them but now is over it i think as they dont do much! but i bet she would have fun in some curtins if she could get near some!!
Ella goes. Blind is close, blind is open blind is closed blind is open....and it is so funny too. Big grins.
Blanche, Ella is 8.3kgs she's on the the 10h percentile with a 97th percentile head.
They say this may be why she hates tummy time having to lift that big head.
AJP - the mirror's a great idea. I'm feeling like a bit of a failure in the movement department.
All you guys must have been working on the movement thing. Ella bears weight and can stand for 5-10mins. She can also pull to standing but that's it.
Ann
ann i wouldnt stress about the crawling, many kids walk without crawling!!!
sophie was 8.6kg, 74cm and head 45cm
ETA KIM if nurses in my council are away there are women who just fill in around the different centres, they even go to other shires!! so the feew times my nurse has been sick there is always a replacment
Blanche (i actually started typing emelia then lol), beautiful ring! I'll put a pic of mine on facebook, only cos DH had it designed for me and i just love it to pieces ;)
Ann - Have you tried having Ella around other babies that are crawling? That is sure to work. babies see each other and think 'wow! i want to do that' and because they can see each other doing it they get a better idea of how it's supposed to look. that, and a bit of peer pressure always works ;)
Jols - yes, whenever i go to get evie up after a nap she's at the end of her cot peeping out the curtains - its like she's gotta catch up on what she's missed while shes been asleep lol
Kim - sorry i must have missed it, what is/was wrong with Jasmine's hip?
As for CC, i always have been against it but what i've been doing is just leaving the room when she stands up and starts making a game out of it. i'm only ever gone for probably a minute at the most and i usually go by her cry as to when i go back in. when i go back in i just say lay down and she will and usually go to sleep. sometimes she'll hold my hand. but yes, it only took a couple of nights before it was working like a charm. However, tonight was a **** mostly because she's still a bit out of sorts and what was weird was that no matter how i held her she would wiggle until she finally wiggled herself around to how i used to hold her when she was a baby. so i guess she really feels like she needs to feel secure and comfy.
Jasmine has a funny hip on one side. With baies their leg creases should line up but hers dont. The nurse had trouble turning one side out. So has to be checked all the time. If at 6 weeks its still not lining up more then likely she will need to have scans done and go from there.
