Hugs Christy...i wish i could make everything better for you.
Tara im loving Craig being home....today was US time...both girls at FDC...went out to lunch for the first time in ages. Was great. Damn you sealing back up again....stop starts are horrible!!
Chelsea has slept a grand total of 15 MINUTES all day....she fell asleep at 3pm then her carer woke her at 315 to do the school run :wall: she is going to be feral tonight!
-
tara i wich mine had sealed up!! best they do and they dont induce you!!!
christy do you have any milk left you can squeeze out???? give them a squirt in the eye!!
kim, wow put her to bed early!! if that were sophie she'd be in bed at 6pm!!! glad you had a great day out!!!
-
When Chelsea doesnt sleep in the day (which is highly rare) there is no way ill get her to bed much before 830/9....she is over tired and hypo now! Any earlier and she would scream and cry
-
-
Wow Kim, Jovie didn't sleep & was asleep by 5.30pm. We just couldn't keep her up, she just wouldn't stop screaming. She wouldn't eat, wouldn't drink.... I finally put some slippery elm into her bottle to fill up her belly so she would sleep.
Jols, thats a fantastic idea, I've been flushing their eyes with saline & then putting the drops in. I'll try & squeeze out some liquid gold.
-
I didnt know you were still bf'ing Christy
Evie was weird today, she had a mega-diarrhoea nappy and thats when i noticed she was on fire. had a temp of 38.1 which took 45mins to come down after panadol. and was just creeping up again when i put her to bed. she seemed happy otherwise so i dont know where the fever came from.
-
Wow look at your ticker pic Tara...so cute!!
Well Chelsea wouldnt eat tea...but still on the go..even Jasmine who has slept 2 hours all day is still in a hypo mode and not appearing tired!
-
lol Tara I'm not still bf'ing, but I still have a bit of milk in there, if I squeeze hard enough ROFL.... and in the shower its better.
Kim neither of my girls will eat if they are tired. Jovie screamed through dinner over here.
-
I can still squeeze milk out and ive not fed in 7 months!!!
Chelsea never got upset through dinner...just wouldnt sit still....LOL
-
that sounds nice Kim, having some US time for you and Craig today.
bilby went down at 8.30 last night, awake at 10.30, then 12.30, then 3am and didn't go back to sleep after that.
so you'd think, today, Miz "i don't do day sleeps" WOULD have a day sleep due to exhaustion, but no, she looked like she had bricks on her eyelids most of the day, but wouldn't sleep, even when i gave her a mid afternoon BF in a darkened bedroom in a warm quilt. WILL NOT SLEEP!
Got her down tonight around 8.30 again, i try feeding her to sleep, as soon as i de-latch her, she's rousing and fighting being put to bed in the cot. I lie down on the floor next to cot and sing to her, after 30 mins of that, i creep out the room - that's what i have worked out what to do to get her to sleep. Not great, just better than it has been.
but her sleeping 7pm - 6am with one feed - that we had going for a few weeks, that is rapidly disappearing.
ANyone got ideas for hiding vegies and fruit in food?
bilbs likes quiche and muffins
i buy $2 miniquiches from woolworths deli department, cut them up in cubes
buy savoury muffin mix in the box and make those up, i'm sure they are not the healthiest option, so many ingredients on the nutrition panel
besides cheese, yogurt, apple slices really thin, weetbix for brekky, not much else passes her lips.
so with fresh fruit and veg and meat getting nothing but tears n tantrums, i am searching for other ways to get food into her.
wanna buy a stab mixer or blender that will puree fruit and veg (WITHOUT needing lots of liquid to be added to it, and the food getting all caught up in the cross shaped metal thing at the bottom). so i can use the Deceptively Delicious cookbook idea and hide vegies. Sounds to me, if you dont have a good method of puree-ing, no point in using the DD cookbook.
i went into Harvey Norman, there are ZILLIONS of blenders and stab mixers for sale. i asked salesperson about this, he said "I dont know" and that was that. (!!!!)
i can't afford to buy five of them, to go home and THEN find out, which one actually does what i want it to do (a good puree wihtout having to add heaps of liquid).
any ideas would be grateful.
i'm so tired, just getting thru the day is wearing me out. It's a big step for me to even be thinking about making bilby food from scratch. I feel so guilty about giving her all this processed stuff (but she rejects the steamed, raw, parcooked veg) and wont' look at most fruit anymore (raw, tinned, forked up etc).
Christy - hope the conjunctivitis clears, that's nasty stuff. Hope you didn't have to wait home the whole day for the electrician. I hate when they don't even tell you "morning or afternoon" - as if you didn't have a life to lead.
Taralee - wow so close hon! I went two weeks over, so my dh's leave was gobbled up by me being late! *His stupid work made him book the leave in advance, NOT when i went into labour!!!
Blanche - how is Jack doing?
Kim - i'm so slack, i've been meaning to email you to thank you for the speedy delivery of the two cups - so excellent to have NON SPILL cups again! the supermarket ones give me the utters!!! yours rock! (love the colours you picked too - thanks!).
-
Gigi - okay you are speaking to the Deceptively Delicious queen :D I use a Kmart $20 budget Barmix, and its been fine. I also used a Breville budget side of things one & its been fine. I've had the Breville Budget one since Jovie started solids & its still going, I use it everyday.
Food ideas for hiding veges:
pikelets (I grate zucchini in or carrots or both)
muffins (I'll send you a recipe? can I email you my recipe book I've been working on?)
spagetti bolognase (will she eat this?I do half vege's half meat)
frittata - I finely grate all the veges into this & both girls eat it up.
chick pea patties with pureed veges
I don't have problems with Jovie, but Matilda will not eat any vegetable other than white. The only time she will willingly is for orange soup ;) She won't eat pumpkin soup, but she will eat orange.... we are working our way towards split pea or "green soup"
I also have some "greens" from my acupuncturist and I mix a spoonful into Matilda's chocolate rice milk daily. Our chocolate rice milk has in it Vit D, greens, probiotics all mixed in with activite. So yes it has sugar, but it also has all the supplements I couldn't get into her any other way.
-
hi peoples,
tara - 38 weeks!!! wow! i hope your bambino arrives soon for you.
Christy - how are the girls today? there are so many horror bugs going around at the moment. aston is coughing again! but that is all - so I am thinking its asthma... sigh.
Blanche_ how is jack doing? and of course the delightful emelia? I am sure that she is happy to have your both home.
Kim - lucky you on having a day with your hubby... I would love a day with mine, one that didn't involve sitting around in a hospital all day!
Ann - how goes your preganancy hun? are you sick? when is your dating scan?
gigi - will bilby drink smoothies? that is a good way to get fruit into her. veges - i make the quiche where I throw in whatever I have, grated up. How are things going with DH?
Nelly - hang in there darlin.
I'm so incredibly tired, emotionally and physically. AF has been visiting the last week, and it has been a bad one - they are all bad - but this one was a shocker. the bleeding has subsided, but the pain is in full force still. add to that a deblitated DH, makes for an interesting mix. I noticed this morning that I was gritting my teeth - so I know I am stressing to the hilt. I have so much to do this week, and the last two days of the week I am working looking after my gf's little girl. $100 that won't go astray while we are on holidays next week. between now and next Wednesday, which is when we leave, I have to get the car serviced, football training, football game, get the kids hair cut, go to the dentist, take DH back to the specialist for his post op visit, pack, clean the house, for the house guests looking after the house while we are away, and all the other day to day crap that fills my life. And DH is incapciatated - in a lot of pain. He had some of his shoulder bone shaved, so completely understandable. between getting up to aston last night, and him moaning and groaning every time he turned, then me getting up to get him pain killers finally at 3am, i have had the best nights sleep! yeah right!
I swear my mother had better do some heavy duty granma duties while we are away! so I can just sit and do NOTHING for a little while.
sorry for the moan girls - feeling slightly overwhelmed at the moment.
-
your heading down south arent you vicky!!! rug up!!!
hope Richards pain eases soon for you BOTH!!
pour yourself a glass of wine tonight!!

Jols _ i'm so sorry - i forgot you! doh!!!! how you feeling? Yes I'm heading south, and while I'm looking forward to seeing lots of people, I'm dreading the cold! especially because the last few days here have actually been humid, and the lowest has been 17.... i'm going to turn into an iscile me thinks.
-
no worries!!!
id be taking scarf, hat!! etc... hopefully it wont be too bad, when do you head off?
-
Gigi im glad you like the cups!! As for foods, Chelsea is a fussy thing and only likes boring foods, hates vegies unless they are in stirfries!
V i hope things improve and you have a good time away
jols both Jas and Chels went to bed at 830 and never head a peep out of them!
-
Whew thats good Kim!
Jols  Hi
