I used to love watching supernanny so have seen her do that many many times, i think thats the thing - staying sane while doing it. not only that but i feel so sad that so much of my time gets taken up doing this that poor chi-chi is left on his mat...busying himself. but i guess that once i get this 'thinking spot' down, it will take less time.
I agree with you Vicky, i want her room to be a sleepy and safe place too, i know exactly what you mean. especially since she's just started sleeping thru and going to sleep on her own!

naughty spot works for us as well - just keep persevering but there will be days it all goes to the dogs. That's when we go outside and burn off some energy.
Jake started at his new daycare last week and for the first time ever has been hysterical everytime I drop him off. I have been staying for about an hour to make sure he settles ok but as soon as I leave he loses it. I know it's a combination of us being away for a week and new environment but it upsets me so much and I walk out sobbing - damn pregnancy hormones....
Spent the weekend at Bundaberg - was invited to do a party up there with an old customer so we decided to make a family weekend of it to ensure the trip was worth my while. As it was the party was a bit crap but was great to catch up with her and we spent the weekend on the beach and playing.
Happy birthdays Jols and Sophie - and I know I will miss people so anyone I have missed so far.

been at teh outlaws lat night got back today! man i hate travelling with a two yr ol! thanks goodness for DVD players~!~!!

for decipline...mmmm i guessing im sort of lucky so far to have a pretty mellow kid (i know my time WILL come) we dont need to decipline too much, i find warning s work well to prevent tantrrums etc... i let sophie know what is happening next i.e at the park i tell her one for slide and were going etc... one more book with daddy then time tobrush teeth, works well so far!
i agree with vicky and christy that persistance is the key, if you give up after a day she'll know your a push over!! were struggling a little with the big bed but getting better, no as much crying and shiorter time getting to sleep.
i agree opick your battles, ours is the big bed, i have rails down on whole side so sophie cant get out, i figure getting her to sleep there is the first battle i'll deal with teh rails later!

Try travelling with a nearly 2 year old and a 1 year old...for 12 hours!!!!! Ohhhh fuuuuuunnnnn..NOT!

Yeh wasnt fun Jols let me tell you...and NO dvd player!! The trip up was ok....granted they never slept much...it only took 8/9 hours....but the trip home was horrid....12 hours of grumpy mummy, Chelsea taking her belt off and Jasmine wingeing!

Its a ballerina Barbie and Craig commented how her clothes were so far up her bum...and i commented how her boobs have gotten smaller!

Argh horrible night sleep...we had cat fighting outside all night...glad they couldnt get to our cats, but they were like screaming..i thought it was our kids..so raced up to the bedrooms and they were asleep...so went outside and scared the damn cats away!

No FDC today cos of PH (grrrrrr...i had plans). So its a cr@ppy day and ill spend it cleaning.....no doubt miss C and J will *help*.....26 today woohoo....eeek.... :D

sorry i have not been on much but got a few things going on latley, been to the doctor today and im starting on zoloft (antidepressant)tomorrow. i havent been coping very well latley with alot of things been a pretty up and down year for me and ive tried to be strong but its too hard with loosing my grandpa and nanna this year, my brother been a p**ck not seeing his own kids, having to have c/s when i didnt want one, not being able to b/f for aslong as i wanted, Jack getting sick at 8 weeks and been in hospital for a week, Leigh and i having troubles and to top it off Emelia been a typical toddler and me just getting so frustrated with her and loosing my temper way to easy with her, i knew i had to do something..i just havent been my happy self for a long time but hopefully things will change soon i really would have rathered not gone on AD but think its best for the time being.
i wanna thank you Kim for chatting to me as at that time Kim u were the only one that knew (besides Leigh) that i wasnt happy and i really didnt know what to do, so its nice to know ur there.

anyways sorry for the long post but just wanted u all to know whats been happening with me.

Well done for recognising that all was not well in your world - its so hard to "admit" that you are not coping with life - with the stigma of depression being so rife and societies expectations that we should be able to do EVERYTHING. I went on AD's for the first time after I had Nathan. He was about 7mths old. I had known in myself that I wasn't ok... I kept saying that "when this happens" or "when Nathan starts sleeping through" or "when this settles down" everything will be ok.... except nothing changed. It was when I completely lost it with Laura - screaming at her, nathan screaming in his cot, and me locking myself in the bathroom, sobbing on the floor, that I knew I had to do something. One day at time darlin... :comfort:

Today im grieving the loss of my dear Uncle...he pased away 5 years today and each year is never any easier.

Jasmine is in the middle of locking chelsea in the cupboard (well not locking but holding the doors shut), Chels is loving it...and Jas is laughing at her.

I have their check up on the 18th....its going to be interesting to see the size differences!!

i think our kids being the age they are is very very challenging, and our roles as mothers and wives involve a lot of self-doubt, self-criticism and guilt, but that being said there are a lot of good times there too...it goes back to raising children being a community job, and a lot of the time mothers are all alone with their kids..waiting for outside adult interaction.
it is a hard job, but we must remember to look after ourselves or we're no good to anyone. easier said than done, i know

This two year old business is challenging isn't it - fraught with boundary testing constantly - and moments of utter adorableness. Survival techinque I think! I have a nearly 13 year old dd (you think two is bad - wait til adolescence arrives!), 10 year ds and nearly 2 (on 29th of this month) ds.

i look after a little girl on Thursday who is a month younger then Aston, and god she reminds me of my dd at the same age - even now at fast approaching two.

hi all! had nuch scan today all is good bub s measuring 13w4d so it seems my original dates were correct - see V I DID keep a good record for one month! lol MS seems to have subsided and I am beginning to feel better -still feel blobby though. Just changed my ticker is about week further now!

Zander will be 2 on the 28th of November.....we are having some very trying times at the moment with his behaviour eg. tantrums/screaming/crying/not eating what he doesnt want to eat....things seem like they are going good and then we hit a hurdle

Well operation big girl bed went....GOOOOOOOOOOOD! She slept all night and when i went into her room this morning (at ummm....9.25am..LOL) she was still in bed under the covers and she was so toasty warm..and no room trashed!!!

Jols - I love your belly :)

Me: well we are in our house.... sort of. It took us 3 days to drive down here. In the meantime our removalists never turned up. They did, but 30 hours after they were supposed too, and they didn't answer their phone!! So finally they turn up. In our initial quote they said delivery within 24 - 48 hours... wellll... our stuff will get here on Saturday :( To top it all off, I'm sick. I got a mother of a cold that started yesterday & have been in bed (well... we don't have a bed but I'm using a friends air mattress) today.

when we were moving from perth to gc i confirmed over and over and over 'our stuff will arrive on the 24th right?' well, get to the gc on the 24th..hmm...where's our stuff? ring them up..'no no..its leaving perth on the 24th..it wont be there for at least another week' WTF?!?!?! then to top it off, when it did arrive half of the stuff was smashed to pieces, ben's weights had been put on top of FRAGILE boxes, the printer was out of its box entirely! and then the guy started to unload bicycles and we were like 'ahh they're not ours' and he goes 'oh...well...do you want them anyways'?!?!?! can u believe it? anyways, after much letter writing back and forth they said we were threatening them and to cease all complaints!!!! i wish i took legal action but we really just cut our losses! d'oh!
so i hope your move was better than that Christy!!!! lol

Hot....man send the heat here....today was hot and today is cold!

V, Chelsea slept 3 hours in her bed today.....im soooo happy its been easy'ish for the last 2 sleeps...i think having had her bed in the room for so long she knew what it was for....and she was waiting for me to bite the bullet and remove the cot!

Today we have had an 'artist' day crayons and textas....Chelsea thought the carpet (cream in colour), fridge (white), front door (cream) and her clothes (pink) were the new paper...and dont forget Jasmines hands....oh the joys!!

Lay by'd a new car seat for her yesterday too..OMG they are expensive.....

awwwww christy i hope the cold eases up for you soon!!! and the air bed doesnt go flat! hoping even more that your stuff turns up tomorrow!!!

I dunno what brand i got but it was $380 from Babyco, had to make sure it was slim to fit in between two other seats and boy oh boy its a damn tight squeeze...glad im not going to be fitting it...taking it to an RACV fitting station!

Us - bilby got to try Gymbaroo today, MUCH better experience than when we tried KinderGym.

she also got to eat lunch outside today, in a creche's pergola type outdoor setting, well i offer food, she refuses food, our attempt at lunch!

first time playing with playdough this afternoon, the creche had rolling pins, cookie cutters and a thing you make "hair" or "worms" thru squeezing the playdough thru.

I don't know what to do about putting her in the hot car. I have metallic sunshades on the windows when we park the car, i place one over her baby seat too. When we get in teh car, everything in the car feels very hot to the touch, and she SCREAMS when i put her in the baby seat, i'm positive it's the heat of the fabric. We were only five mins car ride from home this afternoon, my aircon doesn't start working til about 10 mins of driving, and only works in teh front anyhoo. Bilby is saturated with sweat and so dopey when i take her out - even after a very short ride. it was only 27 degrees here today. we get days of 45 in the summer.

dh STILL hasn't gotten his car back yet, after the vandalism. fixing it is taking ages. one of the repairers DAMAGED the car some more!

but i felt really humbled today. A member on another forum, in same city as me, her dh was killed from a brain virus, (the same one i had but survived). It really put things into perspective to me. Here am i grumbling over little things really, and this poor woman has just lost her dh, their children lost their daddy.

makes you hug the people you love just that little bit harder.
