hi girls. i'm here... in body at least. i think my brain has exploded through the top of my head!!
I'm here for now - might be by correspondence soon tho lol. Long story but when I spoke to V today was convinced I was going to jail after I spoke to the tax office and there are some discrepancies with some missing returns. She was so supportive and laughed at me - goosh I tell you good friends are hard to find
ok I have had my morning cry over Natasha Richardson and the tributes that have been paid from her fellow actors.......yesterday it was over the 21yr old new dad soldier killed in Afghanistan, now today to find out another Australian soldier has been killed since....Im over the carnage and heartache caused by unnecessary death and war :crying:
i so hear you, feel the same.
AJP - i LOVED reading your birthing story thread, so beautiful! thanks.
Tara Lee - soundcheck is perfect, i hear you hon.
Nicola - yes, it is awful to hear such sad news. somehow, it hits me harder, now i am a mum. i hear the news, and imagine how that person's mother would feel, losing their child (the soldier, Natasha etc). The vic bushfires too.
bilby is now starting to give me VOLUNTARY hugs and do little caring things. She brings me a cushion for my back, when she wants a breastfeed. She got me to make up a bottle of water and ice, i thought it was for her, when i finished she passed it back to me and said "for mummy".
we have no kitchen table, but one day i sat down on the couch to eat, and she went and fetched me a placemat! so her little brain is ticking over, that other people have needs too, and what she can do/reach to help them. i am so proud of her, and so touched.
of course, the usual shrieking - due to lack of language i think - is still going on, still driving me bonkers, but inbetween that, she does things and does this really deep toddler laugh that make me love her so much.
toilet training is up and down. great at home and at childcare. terrible when anywhere else. Madame does not like "strange" toilets. and will not use them even with the portable folding toilet insert. we get some success with a potty in the back of my hatchback car.
prevaricating about getting more trainers, they are excellent but i keep hearing stories of people who bought up, then their child totally 'got it" the next week and they didn't need the trainers afterall. what to do.
thanks gigi!!! really was the birth i wanted!! miss millie is soooo gorgeous, i took some more photos today and she has changed so much, will get DH to download them tonight!!
were TT too, though had 4, yes 4 accidents today :o but generally is great at home and out, though we use pull ups when out of the house!!
bilby sounds delightful gigi!!!

*drip drip drip*
So how was everybody's weekends?
Ann - when is your sister heading back? Is it this week or next week? I will PM you to see if you want a visitor or someone to sit with babies while you have a bath, or take some for a walk or something...
hey hey all...
well a few bits to catch you all up on -
Jake had his paed follow up appt on Wednesday and he has been given the all clear - it appears the acidosis was just a culmination of lots of bugs and his body getting overdone and there are no underlying on going conditions. He is anaemic but that is prob bcos he lives on chicken and won't eat red meat or green vegetables.
Today we trialled him at the centre at the end of the street and he fell back into the routine fairly quickly. We were going to go with family daycare but there wasn't anything available at a convenient distance that I could walk to if necessary. Will see how he goes - the good thing is a Monday is their lightest days and there were only 6 kids including him today. I was thinking it is easier to put the baby in sling or pram and walk there rather than chuck everyone in and out of car several times just to go to care to give me a day's relief - seemed a bit too stress inducing.
Bub turned (was transverse) but is now kind of oblique with head on my hip and swings back up transverse every second day. I was planning to use a doula but have not been able to find one that I click with, and whose ideals are similar to mine... and I have a great friend who will be a great support for me if I need her.
Looks like we have found our second car - were planning on not going over 10K but this one is 12K. I was quite happy with a little hyundai or something which would have fit under our budget but DH .... well let's just say he and I didn't agree with "just getting a car" a wanted it to be "right". SO we are prob buying a 2003 VW Polo silver, sporty and has a sunroof - any money he will be driving it and I will have the outlander (which is fine by me).
Hmmmmm what else .... Jake has put on all his weight plus some more - now 16.6kg - and his height is 96cm ( I think) so still a tiny wee boy. It ****s me sometimes that people expect more of him just because he is big and they don't realise he is only 2!!!! He now sings songs to me - one of our fave books is Puff the Magic
Dragon and he likes it sung to him, now he sits in the shower or car and sings snatches of it and other songs. They are really so cute at this age.
I haven't done a thing to the "nursery" yet it is still our spare room. We are staying down the coast for a few days from the 1st for our last fam break before baby so when we get back I will get stuck into it!
Hope all are well!
oops double post
nelly sophie love puff!! we have the book with the song on CD, plays nearly every day!!
yay on the car, we need to upgrade mine too!
glad jake is better!!
sophie is a tiny 12.4 kg!!!! makes up for it in attitude!!
millie is gorgwous, smiling now!!!!

Jols she is beautiful!
Hi Everyone
Not much new up here, except I think I broke my little toe last night when I kicked a full box of huggies nappies that was placed in the middle of the floor by Zander...he is pushing the box around and using it to stand on and turn lights and fans on/off.
Dont ask me how my toe made contact..I did the same thing last year with my 4th toe and a door frame..I had never broken a bone in my life now I have broken 2 toes in less than a year..I put it down to tiredness and foggy mind.
So I am hobbling around after two boys and cant take any decent pain relief...I havnt even bothered with panadol, I doubt it will even touch the sides.
love the new pic of Milly AJP! just gorgy!
Nicola - ouchies for your poor toe! i agree, foggy brain does seem to make you un-co, so more silly accidents, doing things you haven't done for years (like being clumsy).
i did the stupidest thing today, i left the unit, got into car to drive us to childcare, was out all day, picked up bilby, drove home TO FIND the front door ajar and the unit unlocked. ANyone walking past, could have just helped themselves to whatever in our home!
i was so stressed leaving the house this morning, so much on my mind. Cannot believe i did not lock up. Feel like i won lotto, that we did not get robbed. Cannot bring myself to confess to dh. too ashamed.
i don't know what has happened with you VIcky, nothing in your bb blog, but i am thinking of you.
Nelly - i am so pleased you have got the all clear for Jakey. It must be frustrating for you to see people expect more of him, i assume he is a tall two year old?
we get the opposite expectation, bilby is in the 1st percentile for height, so looks much younger (weighs 11.4kg), and adults expect LESS of her, because she is small and only says a few words.
Today, childcare offered us extra help for her speech delay, which was very nice of them. i just have to fill out forms, and they use that to apply for an extra worker, the days she is there - as they don't have the time to work out/guess what she is trying to say/mime/act out etc.
I am impressed they are willing to do toilet training with her, when she has such little language to tell them important things like "i need to do a wee" - she can't say that yet.
Taralee - waves at you
i'm here.... just.
my life has taken an unexpected turn, and things are pretty ordinary to say the least. my relationship with dh has been under strain for months, then he hurt his back at work just over two weeks ago.dh has spiralled deep into depression, and attempted suicide on sunday afternoon. it was horrible and traumatic for me and the kids. i'm numb and not sure what to do about anything. he is still in hospital and his brother arrives today, and his father from the uk on monday. i dont know what i'm doing, the only thing i do know is that i cant do this alone anymore.
fark vicky that bought tears to my eyes reading that  im so sorry to hear that DH is in such a dark space right now. i wish i could come up and give you a huge hug hun, im glad his family are coming over to support the both of you and the kids, im sure you all need it.
please ask for help from us if you need it, come and talk, please pm me if you need to. where all here for you. :grouphug:
far out Vicky!!! i dont know what to say...I'm so so sorry things are going like this for you...i really had no idea things were so bad for you hun :( please let me know if theres anything at all i can do...or even if you feel like coming down the coast for a drive to get away...let me know
Sorry to hear about the rough time you are having Vicky.......
oh Vicky  I'm so sorry this must make you feel utterly alone atm. I wish I was up there... Hun you are an amazing woman and lets just focus on getting him healthy so you can have a wonderful man back on your side.
big hugs Vicky
that is SO hard to deal with
and you have to deal with it for the kids on top of that
i am glad his family is flying out to help
you poor love - i am gutted for you hon.
