oh Tara temps are not fun. How is she today? Sometimes its a viral thing with their little bodies fighting them off and its hard to know until later. Jovie had a temp a while ago with no other apparent signs and the GP said she's fighting it but the breastmilk was helping her keep it away.
-
She's a bit off her food today..like she's had 2 mouthfuls. my boobs are killing me but i dont want to express incase she wants a feed..that sounds a bit crazy, but ikwim!! Shes still laughing and playing and quite happy, so i think it was a bug that she was fighting. what a trooper.
TMI WARNING: Just a question, after a vaginal birth has anyone else found they have a bit of a problem using tampons again? i dont know how i can put this without being gross, but i can put them in and stuff as usual, but if i go to the toilet with one in...it doesnt stay there...ykwim? i thought i didnt feel different 'down there' but obviously i am a little, shall we say, stretched...please tell me i'm not the only one on this!
-
Poor Evie..how is she today?
Emelia was grizzly all day yesterday is a little better today but i really think its her teeth i can see one under the gum, so shes been having brauers teething relief seems to help her a little.
-
Tara - i found that abit when im using them yeah when u go the toliet it feels like its going to fall out!! probably should have done more pelvic floor exercises! i dint think i had changed down there and dp said it wasnt any different!!
-
Thanks Blanche -evies up for about an hour at a time at the moment, so obviously feeling a bit off, but we've got 7 houses being built around us at the moment so its just so noisy all the time and i cant open any windows cos of the noise and dust so i have to have the fan on and thats making her all snuffly!
on the 'other' topic, dh said i dont feel any different either, but i mean that when i go to the toilet it actually starts to fall out and then actually does. i know it's gross and i'm glad im in the toilet! but now i cant wear them and have had to resort to pads which just make me feel soooo feminine! (can u sense that sarcasm? laying it on pretty thick there!)
-
Just took me half an hour to get her to sleep, somethings up..she hasnt got a temp. guess i will see how she is when she wakes.
-
I hope Emelia and Evie are both OK!!
Cant help you on your topic Tara....never got a chance to get that far, But my sister said she had the same problem after her 2nd child. With her first she tore and got cut internally and externally....and could only use pads for 3 years!!!
Chelsea has soft poo!! LOL... i tried the warmer bath water, tummy massage and moving hee legs like riding a bike and so far 2 nappy changes both very messy!! The Airwrap worked a treat lastnight, no lost dummies and no legs or arms poking out!!
-
I forgot to add:
Chelsea is now saying Mama and Bubba...yay :confetti:
-
Aww how cute :D i think Emelias first word will be dada cos she is very much a daddys girl!!!
good to hear she is pooping!
-
What clever babies we have - rolling around and chucking dummies ;)
Kim - let me know how the air wrap goes. Ella tosses her dummy out of the cot at great distances...i'm amazed. Would be great if the carer got the pooy nappy ;)
Tara - is Evie Ok no other signs of a virus? Usually they drink more if they have a fever... Ella's only had them after a shot.
Ella's back onto solids again. Last night was a a bit of a blur as she was hungry from not eating solids all day and kept feeding during the night. Hopefully tonight will be better.
No rolling here. Just a lot of sitting and standing up. She loves looking over her toys and the cat! ha she thinks she's big
Ann
-
Grr!! Evie's just going downhill, she's so congested, feels hot but no fever, not really interested in eating but still smiling and talking. I just put her to bed on the sleep next to me and she just makes that sucking noise (mmmm mmmm mmmm) and doesnt actually fall asleep. i think i should just give her a bath around 5 and then some panadol. I feel soo ANGRY that people have been around her when they dont feel well. it seems like she's been unwell on and off for the past month and i am so sick of her being sick!!
on a lighter note -what a coincidence kim, evie started dad-dad-dad today!
-
Yay Evie on talking....hope she gets better soon!
Chels does not even try to say dad....lol.....
-
wow clever bubs!! cant wait till Emelia says her first word:D
-
What clever girls! Gee that's early. DH didnt say anything till he was 3! Hopefully Ella wont make us wait that long.
What a relief about Chelsea's poo! let it all go girl....
On that topic Ella's poo has become more "adult" and smelly they are also round like plums! (sorry if TMI) She goes red in the face and her arms and legs go stiff. She has plenty of liquid so i'm not worried she's constipated.
Ann
-
awww poor Evie... its so sad to see them sick for the first time.
LOL at Chelsea's poo.... well thankfully its come out!
Ann, I found with starting solids their poo's change a lot in the first few months.
hmmm Tara... I had a c/s with Matilda and didn't have that afterwards & I have yet to have a period this time. I'm really surprised actually that I haven't. Well I know if that happens that it is normal at least. Although I was anal about pelvic floor exercises afterwards especially after my tear.
-
sleeping now, but watching temp, if it goes up i'm going straight to the hospital.
christy i did heaps of pelvic floor exercises too so i dont know whats going on!
-
TARA i hope evie gets better soon!! poor bubba :(
-
OMG Emelia fell off the lounge :( i feel so bad i looked away for second when DP said something :( i feel so terrible she seems fine and only cried a little i think mainly from shock (i cried more than her i think) i feel like the worst mother
-
oh Blanchie *hugs* its awful isn't it? Matilda rolled off a bed at 4 months and DH was devestated & Jovie fell off the lounge on the weekend, at least she fell onto a padded floor because we had the fold out kids lounge there, but she got a shock.
I hope Emelia recovers *hugs* I remember when Matilda did it & I felt awful & came on BB and I think most of the baby buddy group had it happen within a month of each other. At least it wasn't a change table!!!
-
Hi - I feel a bit strange about posting seeing as I have been "on" BellyBelly for over a year and have never quite had the courage to post..
My little girl was born on the 25th November and I love reading this thread - someone always manages to answer something I would be wondering about!!
Anyway, I was just wondering if any of your bubs are not interested in their feet, I put them into her hands and she just looks at me like I am mad (hmmm she obviously won't share my passion for shoes?!?) She also isn't quite rolling, but looks like she is almost there..
She has also figured out how to tell me if she doesn't like something - it involves a high pitched squeal and she straightens her body while arching her back.. Anyone else have this experience?? Can she really be throwing a tanty at 5.5mths ??
Thanks
-
Hi Iberru...welcome.. never be scared to post!!!
Cant help ypu on the feet issue..Chelsea loves eatting her toes... and showing mummy and daddy what a gymnast she is!!
Your little one will get the hang of rolling soon enuf..i on the other hand cant stop her from rolling!!!
Chels makes grunting noises when she does not like something.. and most definately chucks wobbleys at us if she doesnt get her own way.... best eg is in the bath when i take the face washer off her.... its on for young and old then! LOL
In other news girls ill let you know about my horrible Hospital check up today:
Ive just returned from the hospital...the Dr said I cant find a heart beat... tears welling in my eyes... but she said DONT WORRY im like WTF do you mean dont worry.... then she went and got another dr.... he couldnt find it either....finally a better doctor who delivered Chels came in and FOUND IT.....by then i had tears in my eyes, cry like a baby.... Chels was in her pram saying "bubba, Bubba". I tell ya thats one of the most scariest 45 mins in my life.....but all is ok... i think?
-
OH kim hugs that would have been horrible :( im glad they found it in the end..when is ur next ultrasound?? very cute though Chelsea sitting in her pram say bubba bubba!
welcome iberru..Emelia was born on the 25th too:D she doesnt like eating her feet but she loves playing with them, she helps when im changing her nappy she will lift them and hold them in her hands so i can wipe !!!
with the rolling as soon as u put her on her back she will roll onto her tummy and play with toys but she doesnt roll around everywhere..she is starting to bring her knees up now. Ur DD will get there keep watching cos she will do when ur not watching!! i nearly missed Emelia!!!
Emelia loves to squeal all the time no matter weather she is happy or sad! (i get alot of strange looks in the shops!) she chucks tantrums all the time if she drops a toy from her walker she will scream if u take something off her she will scream!! she kicks her legs very cute but frustrating!
What is ur bubs name?
-
Next scan @ 19 weeks Monday 28th May 945am!!! I soo cant wait.... need to see this bub to believe s/he is safe and well!!
Chels does that too Blanche.. holds her feet while being changed... but does not like putting them down so i can do her nappy up!!
-
Oh Kim - poor thing. Sounds like bubs was moving around running away from the stethoscope. :)
I told DH & mum's group that your babies are talking and they were all very impressed!
Iberru- Hi and welcome. BB is a great place to hang out and pick up all sorts of useful info and advice. Ella loves playing with her feet mainly because i cant stop kissing them i think! She already has a collection of shoes but were still waiting for her to grow into them :)
Blanchie - They move quickly! Wait till she starts crawling...it will be great work out for us mums ;) Ella still is on her back but she's doing this *humping* thing when she's on her tummy. like she's trying to arch her back...
AJP - enjoying all the new pictures of Sophie. She's adorable.
Well it looks like Ella's slowed down with the solids. After putting on 500gms in a week she's now gone to not opening her mouth and will ONLY eat apple+rice.

Thanks for the welcome,
My littlie's (actually she is 8 kilos so not THAT little anymore) name is Alessia (like Alexia but with an "ss" instead of an "x")..
I have started Gymbaroo to help get her moving a little more, guess you can't get too hung up on all the milestone stuff if she is doing everything else..
Isn't it amazing that you can start to see personaity comming through, they certainly know what they like, have their favourite toys and also have moods (she woke up in a bad mood this morning and wasn't happy even when doing all the things that normally get her giggling then her afternoon uptime had her belly laughing without much effort at all!!)..
Kimbaz -OMG you have almost reached the halfway mark.. sorry you got such a big scare, it is not a nice feeling. I am really looking forward to having number 2 (cluck cluck)..
Blanchie - she will probably save it for when she is having playtime with Dad grrrr
-
Hi and welcome iberru, like Ann said i'm sure you'll pick up lots of useful things (once u wade through the banter - mostly on my part i must admit).
Hows Emelia doing Blanche? I'm sure she'll be fine, kids are rubbery like that! did you see that kid (i dont know how old he was maybe around 4) who fell off a 3 and a half storey balcony while playing superman? he's fine..i thought that might make you feel better :)
Kim, i'm so sorry about your horrible time at the hospital...my heart was pounding when i read your post!! whew! thank goodness! i went for an ultrasound for my endo once and they thought i was pg when i wasnt...so it just goes to show! who really knows whats going on in there!
Well evie's developed a full blown cold after all that. her eyes are watery and her cough sounds like shes been a chain smoker since birth! she also has a little baby runny nose which is so cute but obviously so frustrating for her cos she keeps rubbing it..she looks like a little rabbit - too cute!
Any advice on giving panadol? i can never seem to do it without her either choking on it, spitting it out or both. and she always looks at me with such a betrayed look on her face that i just keep apologising!
-
I hold Chelsea's head back and Craig squirts...lol... or i squirt half in... give her some water/milk.. then the other half... then more water or milk... she never spits it out... in fact loves it i think.....
Only time she will spit it out, is if her head isnt back enuf (when Craig is helping).
Poor baby Evie.. i hope she gets better soon.... Chels has a snotty nose but wont let me pick the snots out...lol... she screams when i go to!
-
omg falling from a 3 1/2 storeys ***** makes me feel a little better :) thanks
i give Emelia her panadol from one of those sucker thingos iykwim i got mine from her demazin medicine they are so much easier than the stupid suringe they give u in panadol.
-
Ive only ever used the dropper thing that comes with the panadol...lol
-
TARA i think you cna get dummies that can hold medicine!!
BBL dinner ready!!
-
Ella has hers in little squirts too...but i also think she likes it :)
One of the mum's in our group has a baby that vomits at the taste of panadol (even tried to lace some boob milk with it - but still throws it up.) Now he's 8kg he can take a suppository in his butt. :) apparently it works like a dream.
Ann
-
Really everytime i buy the panadol it comes with a syringe, wonder if its different over here cant see y? weird!! lol
but yeah i always make sure her heads back but she seems to suck on it herself and sucks it in!!
omg Emelia is doing my head in i just dont know wat to do? :s she is constantly grizzling i know its not her fault... i just went into her cos she was screaming hysterically she had rolled over, so i rolled her back over put some bongela on and she looked like she was going to go back to sleep but nope she keeps grizzling i just dont know wat to do ive tried bongela, brauers and panadol and just doesnt seem to help her, u can see the teeth under the gums but they are giving her so much pain :( they better be coming lol
-
Thanks Tara - my tip for baby panadol is to ask the pharmasist for an another syringe, I find that the one that comes in the panadol packet is really hard to administer slowly..
I put Alessia into her swing/bouncer thing and aim the syringe for the inside of her cheek (about half way in) and then give her the dose in little squirts, removong the syringe each time so she has a chance to swallow it.. Once I am finished I give her the dummy to have a suck on so that it all goes down (and importantly, stays down). Then I give her a clean dummy that won't taste too much like panadol till she stops pulling faces..
good luck - hope your little girl gets better soon
-
poor bubbies :( nothing worse than not been able to help them!!!!
sophie hates panadol,i squirt then follow up with a boobie chaser!!! dont really work!! she also hates bongella!!
Welcome Iberru!!!!
-
Thanks everyone. Why dont they make a flavour-free one? duh!\
AJP that photo of Sophie is the cutest!!
Blanchie - have you tried one of those teether things that looks like a dummy but instead of having a rubber teat it is shaped to fit along the gums and u can put bonjela on it or put it in the fridge so it gets cold and its quite soothing. Go to the happy baby website and it's called a gummy teether
They are about $5 and i got one just from the chemist. worth a try if u havent already.
-
i've been meaning to get one of those too TARA!! must do that!!
yer it's a great pic!! thanks love!! i love evie in her jcacket!! are they ears on the hood???
i'd take the link out before christy gets on here!! ;)
-
How cool.. ive not seen them before...will have to invest in one!!
-
Thanks Tara i have seen them before will have to grab one not sure if it will work as she spits her normal dummy out lol but ill try anything atm..tomorrows a new day lets hope its a good one :D :crossfingers:
-
I'm back!!! I have the house to myself for what seems like the longest time ever! Kids are at school, inlaws are now at a resort, DH out with them feeding the dolphins in tin can bay, aston rolling around the study floor, and is eating the curtains! and Me - catching up with copious amounts of reading! lots been happening with you and your bubs. never stops does it?
I think there are two new people in the group - welcome to you both. one with a boy, and one with a girl? I think. Sorry, I can't remember your names.
AJP = I love the photos you have been putting up of Sophie - she is just gorgeous! Her little top knot is just the cutest. Aston has been rolling around the lounge room for the last 2 weeks. he is never where I leave him now! and there has to be someone in there with him - I'm sure I'm going to find him pulling all the CD's out soon.
Ann - any more teeth for Ella? Aston loves standing too - and bouncing! The top two teeth are do close to breaking through its not funny - and have been driving him mad - and me too! I got some teething rings yesterday, so hopefully that will offer him some relief. He seems to be worse with them in the afternoon - like its been bothering him on and off all day, and then he just gets to the end of the day, and is like enough already make it stop mum!
Christy - hope that getting Matilda allergy tested brings some relief for you there. Sometimes its so hard to know what is the "right" thing to do isn't it? I swear I spend most of my time second guessing my decisions in regards to all my children!! How is the beautiful Jovie going? are you still bF?
Blanche - Have you recovered from Emelia's fall? Its horrible isn't it? But the first of many to come. Wait til she starts toddling, and falls over and bumps her head. Laura fell over and smack her head on the corner of a wall when she first started walking, and has a scar in the middle of her forehead. Worst thing was that she was at her grandparents at the time, and I came to pick her up and she had this HUGE egg on her head and split.:(
Tara - hope evie is feeling better. Its horrible when they aren't well, and they just look at tyou like please fix it mummy. I haven't been able to use tampons since I had laura. I only use them when I'm going swimmng now. I have endo as well, and they make me cramp heaps, so I stopped using them.
Kim - I cant beleive you are nearly half way. How quick has that gone!!! BTW what is an airwrap??
Hello everyone else. I hope you are all well, and that your babies are thriving!
Its been very hectic for the last week and half. Has been lovely getting to know my FIL and his partner, but full on. Its so lovely to be able to just sit this morning and do nothing. We are going to stay in Noosa for 4 days from tomorrow at a resort, the same one that they are staying at. The kids are excited - I'm apprehensive. probably becaause I'm the one who has to get everything organised. What I would love to do is NOTHING for a week. but I guess the will have to wait til after next wednesday when DH goes back to work, and the inlaws fly away. oh well....
well i guess this post is long enough now! take care all
-
The ABA gave me some advice when Ella was biting during the feeds and suggested a cold flannel or a clean wet finger and massage the gums. When i put bonjela on i give her gums a good rub. Even though her teeth came up a the front Ella seems to be more annoyed by the teeth in the back. (keeps putting her teething toys and my finger at the back of her mouth)
iberru - good idea about asking for another syringe. I hate panadol ones it kind of EJECTS the whole dose in the mouth which makes them cough. Apparently its so sweet to hide the bitterness...yuck.
Tara - do they work? they look like little baby mouth guards LOL
Yay Ella slept well. (so mummy slept well) She woke for a 12am feed and then again at 6.15am. I'm not taking her arms out since wrapping her these days frustrates her when she can replace the dummy herself.
Yesterday we had hysterical tears...:( didnt know what was wrong. I tried bonjela and was about to go for the pandol since she seemed to be in pain. Turned out she was doing a poo and was very emotional about it. ;) She went off to sleep once the deed was done, her nappy changed and got a big hug from mum.
