-
Oh gosh Hollye - im sorry to hear that u and Mia are having such a rough time - poor bubba girl and poor mummy! hope u can get on to her pead soon!
have u had Mia weighed lately? is she still putting weight on nicely?
-
Hm, am thinking it might be easier keeping up if i dont go AWOL for a week or so at a time hey. ;) Well, anyway, I haven't read everything this time, sorry girls.
Had my 1st MG today which was great - organised by the Com Health Centre. We talked about our birth experiences, which was funny since i FINALLY posted my birth story here last night. it was weird revisiting it all now. its long, but then so was the birth. a girl from MG who had an almost 48 hour labour with everything but a cesarean said mine made hers sound easy - i said the same about hers. :) It was actually really nice to hear about 'normal' births too, not that I think I'll ever have one.
Anyway, that's all for now. Talk again soon. Hope you're all well and happy.
Oh! Happy 21st Hollye!
HJ - how are you going with the househunting? congrats on your friends new bub too! How exciting (I did read some of the posts! :))

OK ladies I need some suggestions to help Angus cope in the hot weather...we are not used to it as we tend to only get a short session through summer of extremely hot days in Tassie can't remember how Paige went as she wasn't this little in Summer, We have had our hottest day yet and Angus spent most of it sleeping, I kept him dressed lightly and only tucked him in with a sheet for sleep, been feeding him as often as he'll put up with:D LOL. Wouldn't be suprised if we have a few more hot days to come yet
-
blizz - theres not much more u can do. Seeming u are BFing thats the main thing he needs. He doesnt need water or anything alse. Yeh just dress him lightly as your doing. I wet Mias hair every now and then throughout the day just to keep her a little cooler. It sucks this time of year with such little bubba's! got to about 45 here today :(
-
Blizz - there are some great suggestions for keeping baby cool on the ABA website.
hj - how did the offer go? Hope today was better for you with B.
Hollye - sorry to hear Mia is still not feeding properly, hope it gets sorted soon.
Off to bed, i'm buggered as we ripped up our carpet today.
-
OH MY GOSH!!!!!! GUESS WHAT??????
The offer we put on the house has been................. ACCEPTED!!!!
i so was not expecting that! it still isnt uncoditional yet as we still have to sell our house, but looks like we have a new house.... with a POOL!!!!! :leap:
-
OMG
YIPPIE
HE MUST HAVE HAD SOME SENSE KNOCKED INTO HIM!!!!!
Hj,
Glad to hear the good news hun!!!
Hollye,
OMG you poor thing it's so horrible when they throw up feeds, my nephew was the same in the end my SIL mixed reflux formula with rice ceral to really thicken the milk, he'd still bring up some but it was a tiny amount! He's now 5 months and grown out of the reflux altogether!
Hopefully you can get Mia feeding well soon, poor little princess needs to feeding properly so she'll grow up and be strong like her mum!
Olivesmummy,
Are you a machine??? Ripping up carpet, where did you get the energy??? How's Olive going??
Blizz,
When it's hot here, I leave Hayden in his nappy and wrap him in a muslim wrap. I aslo bath him around 3pm when it starts to heat up!
1stbub27,
I'll go off and find your birth story, sounds like you had a good night!
Hippiemummy,
How'd the packing go????
Hi to everyone else!!!
We're off for Hayden's needles today I'm hoping that he copes ok with them as we've got a busy weekend with my nephews christening and both DH and I are working as well!
Takecare all,
Try and stay cool, sounds like we're all coping the heat!!
Luv Snoopea
-
Snoopea - hahaha ur funny - the realestate pulled out the "big rigs" to go see him, and he has settled with our offer - im not sure if im happy or not - it really hasnt hit home yet! i think it will hit home when we sell our house and it goes unconditional!
How did Hayden go with his needles? hopefully he was a big stong boy and handled them well unlike my sooky Bianca - tho i can't speak i cried to! hahaha
-
hope Mia is doing better hon. xxx
well no wonder we struggled yesterday with the heat we hit 31 degrees which is an eight year record high (I know it doesn't sound hot in comparrison to your bigger numbers but Tassie has a different kind of heat a lot easier to burn due to the thiness of the ozone layer here or something so I've heard) well anyway we all survived and today is considerably cooler thanks for your suggestions ladies
need to go and poke my sleeping bear if I want her to sleep before 9 tonight
be back later love to all

had mothers group today and it was great! good to see im not alone in this world. Its funny.. u go around thinking u are the only one getting no sleep and stuff until u see someone with a bub too.
I was early to my MG so i had a talk with the MCHN there. I explained stuff to her and she is very concerned and decided we should weigh Mia while we are there. She has only put on 400 grams in 4 weeks :( (she was putting on 250 a week!) so this made the MCHN even more worried (they like them to put on a minimum of 120-150 a week). She wrote all this down and gave it to me to give to the pead on Tuesday. I also told her about the GP wanting me to start her on solids and oh my u shudda seen her face!!! it was priceless. pmsl! she said Mia does have a little baby fat on her so shes not all skin and bone but she doesnt want her getting that way so shes very happy that im going to see a pead.
My lil princess is sleeping now, such a big day but she was great! off to do some housework before matt gets home from cricket training so i can go food shopping... woohoo!!
-
Oh Hollye, that's great that you got to have someone look at her. Tuesday seems a long way away when you need help and reassurance. It will be interesting to see what the paed has to say.
HJ, CONGRATS ON THE ACCEPTED OFFER!!!!!!!! That's exciting! Hope your house sells soon.
We finally got our Chrissy pres last night and i am typing at our brandnew Apple Mac as we speak (or, 'as i type' anyway ;) ). DH insisted on changing the house around to accomodate it too, so we spent a few hours doing that last night.
Gotta go, bubs groaning for food and probably trying to eat his fingers. :)
-
Hollye - not long now till u get some answers! bet its been a long hard wait for u  - so what is Mia's weight now?
Blizz - glad u all survived that horrible heat - i hate it when it reaches above 27! hahaha
1stBub27 - Thank you - we have a open house tomorrow - so fingers are crossed that we get a buyer! and woohoo on the new computer! how exciting! actually come to think of it i wouldnt mind a new one 2!
Tan - how are u going?????
-
Congrats on the house hj.
Snoopea - I have been wanting to get rid of the carpet in the living area for ages and we had a few fleas so it was the perfect excuse. Our pets aren't even allowed inside but in this heat the bloody things must be breeding like anything so we ripped up the carpet, vacuumed everything, pressure cleaned the patio(where the pets sleep), washed and frontlined them and thankfully I haven't had one since. It was hard to because I didn't want to bomb or use chemicals so ripping up the carpet was the perfect excuse to convince DH. We will probably just get floating floor boards, it's pretty exciting though and a good chance for a cleanout.
I ended up taking Olive to the doctors yesterday as she has still been not drinking properly and has had concentrated/smelly urine and not very wet nappies. They did a urine test which we should get back today and also wanted her to have a blood test. We decided to put off the blood test until we get the urine back. If that comes back negative and she is still the same we will take her to the hospital on the weekend to have it done. I don't want to put her through unecessary pain. The thing is that after saturday she doesn't really seem like a sick child. She is a bit off today but in general has been happy as larry. Will have to see what the results say.
I got the electric breast pump yesterday so have been trying to get used to that.
I feel kinda bad cause DH is looking after Olive at 2 so I can go and have a pedicure but i'm not sure I will be able to relax with all the stuff going on with Olive. It will be nice to do something on my own though as poor DH has been working lots lately.
Anyway enjoy the rrest of you day ladies.
-
OMG, my poor baby has a kidney infection! She must be in so much pain but has been so well behaved up until today except for the drinking and nappies so the nurse said I must have gotton onto it pretty early. I hope she hasn't inherited my kidney problems, I have hereditary kidney stones and get uti's quite regularly if i'm not careful. The doctors called today to go back in and put her on antibiotics and want her to have an ultrasound of her bladder and kidneys. Does anyone know if you can give 3mth olds pro-biotics? I forgot to ask chemist. So anyway needless to say that I had a pretty stressful day. Oh well back to bed, nite nite.
-
Hi Girls,
Olive'smummy - Poor little Olive, you must be so worried about her. The main thing is you found out early!!! I have no idea about the pro-biotics, sorry.
HJ - Yay great news on the house. Hopefully it wont take long for you to sell your house.
Tan - Are you back from MIL's yet? Hope you're well.
Hollye - Hope Mia is ok. Can't wait to hear what the paed has to say.
1st bub - Lucky you - new computer. I wouldnt mind a new one myself as well.
Gotta go, hi to everyone I missed.
Have a great weekend.
-
Olivesmummy-I have heard that you can give pro-biotics but I'm not sure what form they are in (ie. liquid etc) definetly ask the chemist.
Well we are also off to see the paed because of his eye, its still gunky and antibiotics and drops haven't fixed it. And its not fair for him to have it so off to the dr on Monday to get the referral.
Sorry no time for personals, have a good weekend all! :D
-
Hi girls!
Olivesmummy - poor little Olive. What a tough little girl to not be showing too many signs of distress! Good that you were able to pick it up so quickly too. Sorry, i don't know about the probiotics either. How's the electric pump going? Liam's preferring bottles ATM so I'm going to have to do some pumping to keep up I think. I'm trying to give him as much booby as i can, but like the saying goes, 'you can lead a baby to booby, but you can't make him drink'! He'll be so relieved when i give up and just go to bottle, but i will persist!!! ;)
Hippiemummy - I hope the conjunctivitus clears up with the antiobiotics. Poor boy. It's such a yucky thing to have. But i s'pose that doesn't bother babies too much.
HJ - how'd the open house go?
Those who had c/s, how is your wound now? Mine is still not healing up completely and comes open just slightly (like a cut on your leg might, nothing major), which doesn't seem right to me at 3 months (Liam's 3 months old today!!! yay!!), but how would i know?!
While I'm asking Q's, what sposies do people recommend? We'll be using them when we go down to Melbs in a few weeks as it'll be easier and lighter in packing. We used Huggies when he was newborn (with 'staining' poos ;) ) but i wondered if there's any cheaper brands that are good as well? Umm, I'm assuming we would go for the 'crawlers' since he's about 6.3kg? Infant seems like it might nearly be too small?
Hope you're all having a great day. Liam is sleeping up a storm right now and is 2 1/2 hours past his feed time. I keep checking but his chest is definitely rising and falling. (when do you stop panicking about that??!! ;) ).
