HJ hope the move goes well, where abouts are you moving too now? If it's not to far might have to have a catch up. When your back online will have to chat about the physic.
Happy 5mths Mia, boy all our bubs are growing so quickly.
Sorry I've been MIA for so long, I've been busy busy, busy. I went to the Dr on Friday as I've been feeling really flat, so he ordered some bloods to check iron ect, so hopefully I'll have results tomorrow. Julian is going great, no teeth yet, but heaps of drooling still.
hugs xoxo
Hope everyone had a good weekend!!! I had a brilliant weekend, relaxing!! So fun!!!
Jorda is nealry 6months.. on Wednesday!!!
Ive been contacted by the mods and have been told we im not allowed to do the weight loss list anymore. Its a shame.. im talking to one now to try and work something else out..
Really?????? that is a shame - why arn't we aloud to do it?
GUESS WHAT GUESS WHAT everyone - Bianca crawled today! yep thats right she crawled!!!! and DH, nanna and Grandpa were all there to witness it!!!!
Hi Girls,
Wow HJ, B is crawling already, that is early. She is growing up quickly. Did you manage to catch it on video or anything?
Hollye - That is a shame about the weightloss list. Hopefully something can be sorted.
I just went and got my implanon removed so as of tomorrow I will be back on the pill. It has been soooo long since I have been on the pill. I lost 1.9 kg this week, I am surprised coz I had a bit of a blowout on the weekend.
lovely ladies, as holly mentioned the weight loss lists are not allowed, i have suggested you guys perhaps form your own social group as ca place for the weight loss.
thanks for your understanding
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums/groups/
Thats a shame Hollye, why is that?
Hope you all had good weekends. Mine was pretty good, went shopping both days and other then that just hung out at home. DH and I watched a vid together and I had a few wines on friday night which was nice.
Olive was abit out of sorts yesterday afternoon and last night. She is getting her second tooth and it seems to be giving her more grief then the first. She wouldn't eat her dinner so woke up 3 times last night and only had 2 20min sleeps today which isn't like her at all. She ate her dinner tonight so will hopefully sleep better as I am buggered. I'm going to watch Underbelly while I express and go to bed. My FIL visited today and Olive hated him, poor guy. She just screamed whenever he looked at her which is strange as she is usually really social. We did have a big morning though as we went to the centre where I work and had a welcome back morning tea for me. I wonder if she knows a big change is coming.
Shame about the weightloss, why isn't it allowed? Not sure how much I weigh today as I haven't had time to scratch myself but feel about the same.
hj - wow on B crawling, I don't think Olive will be far behind bu i'm kinda dreading it as it means more baby proofing.
HJ - yay go B! you are so clever!!!
Ok.. as u all might know about Mia's reflux/vommiting issues.. she spews about 45 times a day. Seen pead today just to get told theres not much he can do. He wants me to start her on solids asap but to forget about the pureed stuff and go more onto BLS. He also wants me to cut down her milk (which i wont be doing) and try her on Karicare HA-AR formula. So i wnt to the supermarket and got the formula, some pear juice for her (ive been told it helps with constipation), vege teething rusks, sweet pot and some pumpkin. So ill let u know how it goes...........
She also has abit of a rash on her tummy.. he said just to moisturize it but ive been doing that and its been there for 2 weeks! exema (sp) is worrying me.. could it be that? DP's brother has it really bad.. so its in the family.
HJ- WOW!!! Congrats on B crawling! That is amazing!!!
OM - haven't you had a baby???? Wisdom teeth are nothing! You don't feel the pain at the time, its just the pulling sensation, which is just a pulling sensation - nothing to be scared of. I had heaps of teeth work done a few years back - probably 8 trips all in all. Only 1 was bad coz the tooth was stuck under the bone so it took about 45 mins of pulling and shoving etc. But that's REALLY rare and I'd do it again if i had to. Just concentrate on your breathing rather than what the dentist is doing, picture yourself in a lush rainforest or something. Make sure you take plenty of pain killers until the pain's gone. You can psych yourself up to make these things worse than they are, so just relax and make the best of it.
Leigh - I did aqua aerobics. It's great whatever fitness level you're at. You have a floaty thing so its not like you get tired and have to struggle. It's fun!
Liam's doing ok. He started this screaming and squealing thing lately. Like a 2 year old trying to get attention. I've been caught up with preps for my sisters baby shower so maybe that was why. Have been concentrating on playing with him heaps since (it was saturday) and it seems to be disappearing.
And he's woken up around 12/1am the past couple nights - VERY unusual for him. I gave him a 2nd solid feed today. We'll see how that goes.
HJ - I've been reading lately its common for bubs their age to go back to waking at night. It can be that they're needing more feed, or are feeling temperature changes, or they can be going through developmental changes that seem to effect it - theory is they're excited by what they've discovered they can do and want to be awake more to try it. Given B's moving ahead so quickly i wonder if that's it?
this is where the weightloss list is now. We have our own social group - https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...challenge.html
Morning all
I couldn't help myself had to pop over to mum and dad's to use their comp to say hello!
i dont want to miss out on anything/updates of all our beautiful bubs!!!!
We move tomorrow - so can't wait until its over and done with!!!
Amanda - we are moving to forest lake! and im dying to hear all the goss on ur visit with Leslie!!!
Hollye - glad we can still keep our little weight loss thing going! i only lost .1 last week - dont even think thats worth mentioning!!! im so disappointed!
i dont understand why your pead thinks cutting back on Mia's formula is going to help???
But thats a bit exciting the solids bit!!! cant wait to hear how Lil Mia goes on it all! Hopefully it helps tho - must be upsetting seeing her vomiting all the time!
1stbub - woohoo on Liam starting 2 lots of solid a day - im not sure when to start B doing that?
B finally slept thru last night - went to bed at 1945 and woke at 0600!!! thats the best sleep EVA!!!
we have been trying to get her to sleep more during the day so maybe that is what is helping her sleep of a night time - around lunch time we pretty much let her cry herself to sleep - i hate doing that but its the only way she will go down - we dont let her get too upset tho! im too soft to let her scream for too long!
but twice now we have done it and she has slept for about 1hr! so thats pretty good
OM - a 2nd tooth for Olive!!!!!! oh my gosh!
Leigh - nah unfortunally we dont have a video camera and my mobile was down in the car!! but since than i have got pics of her up on all 4's - it was soooo exciting - im just glad DH got to see it and didnt miss that milestone!
and how awesome are u doing on the weight loss! you go girl!
anyway i gotta go! talk to you all soon hopefully
Hugs and kisses to all the bubs
xoxoxo
HJ Forest Lake is a bit closer to me, I'm at Crestmead, just past Browns Plains. Yay for B starting to crawl, my first two were early crawlers which made them early walkers too, how exciting.
Hollye have joined the group and posted my weight loss of 800g, how exciting for Mia to be starting BLS, I think your right in not lowering the amount of milk she is having too, she still needs her milk.
OM congrats on Olive getting another toothy peg.
1stbub how did the second feed go?
Well I got Julian weighed yesterday and with clothes on he was 7.4kg, so he's getting bigger now, defineately in 00 clothes now. I also used some of Krudds money on myself today and got myself a BB lifetime membership, yay and I'll be getting my hair done on Thursday too. Got to go, boy awake and crying.
hugs xoxo
oooooooo u get an avi then manda?????????
Yep... solids.. hay... hrmmmm exciting stuff. lol
hi girls, sounds like everyone is doing fine. Can't believe that some of the bubbas are crawling and getting teeth. Meara is drooling everywhere so she mustn't be far off getting her teeth. She is still under 7kg but she has chubby little legs and belly so she is ok.
I have given up on the weight loss for now as there is alot of stress in our house atm. Can't concentrate on me when my eldest DD is having these problems. Will explain later.
Chat 2 you girls later
Kim
i cant get Mia to sleep longer than 10 mins at a time today!!!!!!!! whats the go with that?????????? :wall:
HJ - coz she has so much trouble with her milk, the more she has, the more she spews. but i went out and got the karicare HA-AR formula, so ill see how that goes. Its bloody expensive, i dont know how im gonna keep up with it. Last night, it cost me nearly $27 and shes lucky if a tin lasts her a week. Has B been crawling around like a mad woman??? she is just so clever! so glad she slept well lastnight, as i told ya.. the more sleep she gets during the day, the better she will sleep at night. So looks like im in for a big night.. :(
1stbub- Thanks your right, thats exactly what i needed to hear. I know it will be much better once it's out, it's just a stressful week for me with going back to work next Monday. Glad to hear Liam is doing ok, hope his squealy thing settles down.
Olive was a bit better last night, woke at 10:30 and again at 4:20 then we got up at 6:30after some unsettled sleep but she had done a poo. I'm so tired with the waking and hope it settles down soon. Olive actually lost weight when we went to clinic today which has never happened before, she lost 200g. Not sure why, she has been a bit off but I thought she would have put on weight with starting solids, anyway she is still in the 97th percentile so we just have to keep an eye on her. She grew another 2cm in height though up to 68cm and her HC is 44.8cm.
Hollye - good luck with the solids. The vege teething rusks make Olive spew and she never spews so we have stuck with the plain ones although she doesn't like them near as much. What are you moisturising Mia's tummy with? I have heard goats milk soap is great for ezcema and stick to plain creams like sorbolene or moo goo.
Hi to everyone else, wish me luck for tomorrow.
double post
Ok back for a bit lol. 3 out of 5 kids out with DF at soccer training.
From previous post you can tell I'm having some "issues" with my DD1. Truth is she has been drinking, stealing, lying and not sure about having sex :o. This is causing some major headaches as you can imagine. In the process of trying to find another school for her so she is not hanging around the same kids and one that really sticks to discipline. She is still losing weight so very frustrated about that too:wall:. Now down to 47kg and she is 175cm tall.
Missing from my ticker is the ttc#6. We have decided to either wait or not have another one at all. Just too confusing atm for the whole family.
I wish everything was just back to normal.
Hi to everyone and gl OM for tomorrow.
Kim
Hi Girls,
Kim - What a stressful time you are having at the moment. Hope everything with your DD gets sorted soon. It must be very worrying for you.
Hollye - Good luck on starting Mia on solids and with the new formula. Lara spews about 45 times a day too. I have to change her clothes that many times a day plus I am always getting spewed on. She is not a baby I can bounce up and down when I play with her or anything otherwise I cop spew everywhere. Maybe I need to change Lara's formula too. I spoke to my GP about it and he wasnt too concerned because it doesnt seem to be worrying Lara and she is gainly weight nicely.
HJ - Good luck with the move tomorrow, I hate moving but it would be exciting moving into your new home.
1stBub - Water aerobics is on tomorrow morning, if I am brave enough I might go. It is from 8am -9am but I will then have to rush home to get DD1 off to Kindergarten. I am dying to give it a go though.
Gotta go, Lara is starting to cry, it is bottle o'clock for her lol.
oh my.... Mia has spewed once today!!!!!!!!!! thank goodness for this formula!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOTHING has worked till now!!!!!! Leigh i reccomend it BIG time!!! Karicare Ha-Ar
Hollye I think I will give it a go. I constantly have to walk around with a spew cloth wherever we go coz she is a big spewer. It can be 4 hrs since her last bottle and Lara will still be spewing. Everytime I put her in her car seat she spews without fail. What formula was Mia on before the Karicare? I've had Lara on Heinz, s26 made her constipated.
Ive tried.... Karicare GOLD, Heinz, s26 Reflux, s26 LI, s26, NAN and she was shocken on all these. Check out my threads in the boohoo room!!!!! lol
Before this one she was on s26. Oh my.. we have gone through 2 bibs today and that was just from dribble!
This formula is hard to find and a little pricey coz its so good. Make sure u get the HA-AR one, not just the AR one. Im looking around to try and buy it in bulk so ill let u know.
Doesnt suprise me she is spewing on Heinz, its quite watery..
Ok WOW so many thigns Happening..
First JORDA IS 6 months today and did her first poop on the toilet.. ya ya ya.. I had ben potty trained at abot 14 months so this is going to be much easier. When you feed them they poop, so little potty feed them soilds while they sit on there... so easy!!
Second.. i think i am going to uni next year fro midwifery! i am so excited!!
Third.. weight in tomorrow i cant wait!! i think another 1-2 kg.. i am sooo motivated!!
hope everyone is doing great!
happy 6 months Jorda!!!!! wow u are potty training already. I wouldnt be able to get Mia to sit still!
Well Mia started on her solids today, she had some pumpkin for lunch and she loved it. Got it all over herself but atleast she had fun. She has spewed 3 times today which is great. 1 big one this morning and 2 dribble ones.
Raining here today and both me and Mia have colds. So thats prob adding to the spewing coz of the phlem. We had a really rough night lastnight, i dont really remember sleeping at all.
My house needs cleaning but i just have no energy......
Hi everyone,
Well the dentist was much better then I though and the dentist thought and I walked away with moderate pain and minimal cost (still $190 but was quoted $350). I mean it's still not nice but I think cause I was so sure it would be really painful it was better then I imagined.
But then i've had a very hectic night since. First as I have said Olive has been a little off and wasn't very keen on her porriage so I tried her with some pear which she loved. Soon after though she got a rash all over her face. I gave her a bath and it settled down and she was happily playing then spewed. DH and I both noticed that her voice sounded croaky and I decided to take her temp. That was fine but when I took off her bodysuit she has a rash on her tummy and back. I rang the hospital and they said to come in and after examining her the dr said he thinks that she has viral croup and that she will probably get a barking cough etc. He also said that she her fontonell(sp) is a bit sunken so to really push the milk. God it's so worrying, I hope she will be ok.
Happy 6mths Jorda, such a milestone. Didi you sound really happy, good on you.
Glad to hear Mia's new formula is working
Hi to everyone else, nite nite
****! i decided not to weigh myself this week coz i havent reaally been trying. But just then i though.. hay why not.. i lost 1.8 kilos this week!!!! yaahhooo!!!!
OM - glad the dentist went well. Ide say she may have had abit of a reaction to the pear. Leave it for a week and try and give it again. All babies fontanelles are abit sunken, but i dont think it will be anything to worry about. Viral Croup DOESNT give babies a rash. Has she had abit of a cold? Croup stems from a virus she has already had.. such as cold flu etc. I know that when bubs do have croup its important you keep a very close eye on them such as sleeping beside them etc. Any sign of it getting worse, u need to call the hospital. So in your opinion as a mother...do u think she has croup? Mayb he thought her rash was measles (this can be linked to croup) but im sure if he thought that he wouldnt have sent u home. usually the symptoms of croup start to clear within 3-7 days. The worst day is meant to be day 2. HTH xox
more pics of Mia in my gallery :) and eating vegemite toast :)
no ones here today,.....
formula isnt working anymore. she cant keep it down. ANd its giving her the runs :wall:
Hollye - Are you sure it's the formula and not something Mia ate that's making her spew?If she is having lots of different foods could it be that upsetting her tum?
I'm not really sure about the croup but I know it's not just a reaction to pear. Olive hasn't been feeding properly, is really husky and tight in the chest but has had no runny nose. The rash has faded today but she still has the other symptoms. I'm hoping she isn't ashmatic as DH was as a baby. Anyway will see how she is tomorrow and how much she is drinking.
We tried sweet potato tonight which Olive wasn't that fussed on but will try again tomorrow night. How did Mia go with the toast?
Congrats on the weight loss
i just fed mia her bottle.. and there is spew everywhere... so yes.. its the formula. She has had pumpkin and toast.. thats it.
Hi Girls,
OM - I am glad going to the dentist wasnt as bad as you expected. How many wisdom teeth did you get out? I got all 4 of mine done at once and it cost me $1400. It was cheaper to get all 4 done at the same time otherwise it would've been $500 per tooth. Poor little Olive, I hope she gets better soon!!!
Hollye - Yay on the weightloss, I don't weigh myself until Monday morning but I have a big weekend planned so I think this Mondays weigh in will be a gain and not a loss. Bugger the formula isnt working. I tried looking for it yesterday but couldnt find it. I did only go to two places though. Maybe you and I are just destined to have spewy babies. I had to change Lara's sheets this morning coz she spewed everywhere and I've washed her little comfort teddy twice today.
Didi - Now after having babies I would love to do a midwifery course. Jorda is so clever doing her first poo on the loo.
Well Lara is 5 months old today, I can't believe my little girl is growing so quickly.
It is my birthday on Sunday but DH is working on Saturday night and all day Sunday so he has planned a night away for the family tomorrow night. I have no idea where we are staying but it will be nice just to get away. We'll be going out for dinner etc so my diet will be blown out the window. Plus I am going for lunch with my friends on Saturday.
Well gotta go give Lara a bottle. Hi to everyone else.
Thanks ladies..
So easy to put her on the potty with the tray and feed her solids and she goes to the toilet.. NOT hard..
so down another kg.. i got a key ring today at WW as i have lost 10% of body fat !! Woo hoo
Well done kiddies on solids!! the joys.
my pediatrition said most babies spew or spit up a lot till 7 months as body gets used to food and stomach starts adjusting.. Jorda spews all the time..no biggie.. just something that happens everyday.
Hollye - I was so impressed the new formula was working so well so quickly. I'm sorry its not going so well now. Strange she'd take to it then just go completely the other way. Arh! Parenting can be frustrating sometimes!
Didi - where did you get the idea to start toilet training so early?
OM - well done for getting the tooth pulled! I knew it would be easier than it sounded, but I know it takes a bit of guts to go through with it too. Great price! DH had his pulled about 2 weeks ago now and it cost $300! And he has another 2 to be pulled and quite a few fillings - guess that's what he gets for not going to the dentist since he was 8. :) Guess Krudd will be paying for all that. Does anyone know if the April payment (the one you get if you completed your tax return) is per person or per couple?
How's Olive going now? How scary on the rash and croup thing.
Leigh - did you get to aqua aerobics? You've got me dying to go to one now. Don't think I'll be able to just atm though (money/time/babysitting).
Is anyone considering taking their bubs to swimming lessons? Some of the mums at my MG are looking at prices & dates. Think they take them from 6 months. Pretty sure I'll be taking Liam along.
Kim -  Sorry things are so tough there for you all ATM. Wish I could say something helpful, but just know I'm thinking of you and feel for you all. A very tricky situation. Keep your head up, girl.
Liam's gone back to sleeping through!!!!! Makes me one very happy mummy. And he seems to have stopped the squealing thing too. Any tips on how to get him to send himself to sleep? We rock him - which sends him to sleep in 5 mins but obviously isn't ideal (& yes I know everyone tells you not to do that from the start but you gotta do what you gotta do). Even if he's super tired, if i put him in his cot, he just thinks its a game and plays until he gets cranky (maybe 1/2 hour later) and then just cries and cries. No sleep though.
Potty training early, WELL!
My mum did it with us when we were 6 months old and we were all potty trained day/nigth at 16 months or so.
Mum said, if you put baby on potty every morning after or with food they poop after they eat, which happens, they get used to it. So it works.. not hard and at least they get used to being on a potty and when thery are 15months or so and you start training then, they are not scared of the toilet and its something they are already used to as they are none the wiser.
When i put jorda on the potty she doesnt go EVERYTIME.. sometimes just pee's etc. which i think is better then in the nappy.
People say they will do it when they are ready.. well i personally disagree, its the parents that make the effort to have the child trained, I just like to give myself less work to do rather then more like changing nappies till they are 2.5 or 3 years old.
her potty has a tray on the front so she can sit there and not fall off etc.. SO easy..
Not much going on here, I took Julian for his check up at the physio this morning and his tilt has got better, but she is a bit worried that he isn't using his right hand very much, so we have some more exercises to do and have to go back after easter for another check-up. As for easter we've done all the shopping and have got everything for the boys and a very cute bunny for Julian.
Got my hair done yesterday arvo and I look decent again.
Didi sounds like you are doing well with the potty training, did you do it with Ben?
1stbub I think if it's working with rocking Liam to sleep then keep doing it, once he gets bigger you can change it, but you need some sanity and if rocking is doing that then so be it.
Happy 5mths Lara, I hope you had a great day yesterday.
Hollye what are you going to do about the formula, are you going back to the one you were using before.
hugs xoxo
Hi girls, just a quick one today. I just got home from helping to deliver my new baby nephew! I wasn't planned to be in the birthing suite with them but got a call from my brother in law around 6.30pm (I think he felt completely out of his depth!) and went in about 1/2 an hour later. My poor sister was sooo exhausted but did so so well. And little Daniel is gorgeous! Born approx 1.05am. He was born 2 weeks before his due date. (I've already told her off about this since Liam was 2 weeks late ;) ) My sister is on BellyBelly but I don't actually know her nic.
It's brought up really strange feelings about the c-section and birthing experience I had. Feeling more ripped off and 'incorrectly birthed' than I have. Might have to explore that a little more at a more sane hour.
Goodnight everyone! hope you're all sleeping well. :D :D :D
Ya i did the same thing with Ben. People say boys are harder then girls etc... I am not so sure even though Jorda is 6 months.. its how much work the mum wants to put in, babies will follow..
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all enjoying your weekends
1stbub - That sounds so exciting, did it make you clucky? It probably is a good idea to research and think about your birth experience and why it went the way it did, I will be doing the same when we start trying for no.2. I hope you have had some more time to relect and realise that it is not your fault and you did what you could given the circumstances.
The April payment is per person as far as I know.
didi - you are a powerhouse, congrats on the weightloss and good luck with the toilet training.
Hollye - how is Mia going with the milk and solids?
I was at the dentist yesterday as I ended uyp with a dry socket, excruisiatingly painful. I'm going back to work tomorrow (where has 6mths gone?) so hopefully it's better by then as the whole thing is daunting enough.
Olive is still croaky but seems a little better. I have put her on soy formula when she has to have it so will see if that makes a difference and have stopped giving her rusks and only giving her baby porridge. Will see how she goes and take her back to docs if she doesn't improve soon. She never got a croup cough though. It's so cute when she gets upset now cause she yells "mum-mum, mummm" I know it doesn't mean anything yet but still. Dh is very jealous.
Thanks! Its obviously not for eveyone, as you need to be motivated etc.
But makes my life easier so why not!!!
Well done the baby delivery assistance that is sensational!!!
Well off to see the only nice girl from my mum group.. While my husband is in Portland Tuna fishing!!!
