Hi Girls,
Today is my birthday, I've had a pretty uneventful day as DH worked all day so the girls and I spent the day with my mum. Friday night was good though coz as I said the other day he had planned for us and the two girls to stay in a nice hotel and go for dinner. It was great, so relaxing I really enjoyed it. I didnt want to come home.
OM - Good luck tomorrow for your first day back at work, hope you don't have to start too early!!! Hope Olive gets better soon. Yay on her saying mum mum mummm. DD1's first word was Dada so I had better start teaching Lara how to say mum and hopefully it will be her first word.
1st bub - Congratulations on your new nephew, that would've been so special being there.
Gotta go, we just arrived back from my mums so I need to put the girls to bed and head for a shower.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
-
Happy Birthday Leigh!!!!
I bet it was nice to have a night away from the housework and normal life and feel abit spoilt. Did you end up going out with a girlfriend for your b'day as well?
I don't have to start until 2pm thank goodness and work until 6pm so it will go really quick. My tooth is killing and Olive has decided to wake up though so hopefully I get a decent amount of sleep. She was horrendous yesterday, couldn't put her down at all without her screaming, not sure what the go is. It would be so much easier if they could tell us, need one of those machines like on the Simpsons where it decipheres Maggie's cries. I think I will take her to the doctors if she doesn't improve JIC she has developed and infection since Wednesday. She hasn't been coughing much though, luckily she has been feeding better. I hope she gets better, I feel guilty enough going back to work let alone if she is sick. Ok it sounds like she is asleep so i'm off to bed..again

weigh in today girls!! dont forget to post your loss in the social group!
bbl to fill u all in.. mwah xooxoox

Hi everyone,
It's been quiet around here the past couple of days, how are you all travelling?
We have been caught up in the severe flooding up here on the MNC but thank god everyone is safe. My parents house floods and I was there when it came in and had to be evacuated with Olive. It happened so quick and was very stressful. We also lost a car in the flood, well we think it's lost, it got water up to the windows. My parents house got water chest height inside and didn't have time to move everything so it's been a hard time for them. We are used to floods but this is the worst it's been and is a 1 in 100yr event. Luckily we have had power, we are still cut off but have plenty of supplies and a corner store close by.
I also started work on Monday but haven't been able to go since the floods. It went ok until I got home and Olive was really upset as DH couldn't get her to sleep. She saw me and her little lip trembled and she cried harder and within 5mins of getting in my arms was asleep, poor darling. It was really distressing, I was crying as well. I know it will take time to get used to work but already I resent being away from my darling, I hope it gets easier soon. It has also made me assess whether I still want to be pumping full time as I would rather spend that time playing with Olive. I'll stick it out to 6mths but I think I will give up then as it's getting to hard.
Hope you are all well, nite nite.

Hollye - Have you tried changing the teat? V would thro up her bottle, then I tried Pigeon teats and bottles. But the teats fit in the avent wide neck bottles too. I find them really good and V hasnt had a problem since changing the teats. Try the pigeon one, hun I believe they also come in small neck bottle type too.
1stbub - Congratulations on being an Aunty, how nice to be there for your sister and watch him come into the world. Very special. As Amanda said if rocking is working for you just keep doing it, then maybe gradually cut down on it as Liam gets bigger. Babies love the closeness of being in mums arms. hugs
OM - I hope those floods settle down soon hun. It also is never easy when you start back at work is it. I hope you and Olive feel more settles about it soon. Lots of hugs
Leigh - Happy birthday for the other day hun, hope you had the best day. hugs
Didi - Hey there sweety, how is Little Jorda going? What a clever little one she is with her potty training.
V is doing really well, she is such a sweet beautiful little one. She always has a smile on her face. I have to wonder if her first word is going to be Poo poo's as I often heear her babbling with what sounds like poo poos and that what I always say to her when I change her nappy. :) Well one night she woke up chatting away to herself, then fluffed and all of a sudden staraight after her fluff. Poo poo's then that was it. So now I think about her coming to me when she is older and asking what her first word was. Could you imagine. Your first word was Poo poos. :D Not mama, dada, but poo poos :)
-
Hello everyone!
Just a quick one cause im at mum and dad's - we dont get phone and internet hooked up until the 9th! its driving me nuts cause i miss you all!
Just letting u know that B and I are doing well - B loves her food, and i have found out she is an outdoors girl - she loves it outside - and LOVES swimming in our new pool!
I have been walking to the lake and around it and back home everyday (cept today its raining) which is 4.95Ks - in hopes to lose some weight - but its not working! but B and i love the walk anyway!
Hope u are all well! Missing everyone heaps! xoxo
-
csab - ofcourse i have changed the teats. 5 different ones actually.
Long story short. Test results back, all look good. No LI. Havent had her tested for a milk allergy but i dont think there will be one. Since starting on solids i have noticed she doesnt only throw up milk but all her solids too. Toast, pumpkin, avacado.. anything that goes in her mouth comes back up. So now i have another refferal to see a pead in Shepparton and doc wants me to ring Royal Melb Childrens Hospital and see what they say.
Apart from that all good, still looking for a house, this one bedroom stuff is annoying me big time, to put it nicley.
Off to have a smoke b4 this girl wakes up..
take care ladies xoxoxo
oh leigh.. what mg are u on? i was on 10 and the doc has just bumped it up to 15.
-
Hi Girls,
Hollye - I am on 10mg and have a 2month supply so I dont go back to the dr til after that. I was only on 10mg last time aswell but I dont seem to be losing the weight as quick this time even though I am exercising and all.
HJ - Good to hear from you. Glad you are settling into your new house. Lucky B getting to go for a swim all the time.
OM - It is hard going back to work when you have a baby. Hope everything gets easier for you soon. Sorry to hear about your parents house getting flooded!
csab - I always say poo poo to Lara as well, hmmm maybe I really should start thinking about what I say to her. I am hoping her first word will be mama coz DD1's was dada.
I've been sick with a cold and a really sore throat, wish it would bugger off. I haven't tried my wii fit yet but having been playing the wii sports, it is so much fun. You even get a bit of exercise running around the room doing that.
Gotta go, hi to everyone I have missed
-
Hey hope everyone has a nice weekend..
Anything excited planned?
-
didi - 21st bday party tomorrow.. woot woot. Just out for tea. Having Mia ill be home by 8pm lol. so sad.
-
Leigh are you on Reductil???
How is it?
what is it?
Side effect?
anything else.
my sis wants to go on it.
-
yeh didi im on it too. It cost about $100 for a months supply. The only side effect i have got it excessive sweating. Its meant to reduce the amount of food u want and help get u fuller quicker, is my understanding.
ANother long story short (you will see my thread on BB if you want to read into it) Mia is off the the Royal Childrens Hospital on Tuesday.
-
Hollye - where abouts is that thread? Hope it's nothing to bad, will be thinking of you.
Hope you are all enjoying the weekend. I have had a pretty quiet one as DH had to work and took my car as his blinkers aren't working after it got flooded the other day but at least it goes. I worked yesterday which went alot better, Olive was happy and so was DH when I got home so feel alot better after that. I missed 3 days due to the floods so it was a pretty easy week after a horrible first day.
Olive seems to be allergic to apple and pear so that sucks. Hopefully she isn't allergic to to many other things. I gave her some pumpkin at lunch time today which she loved and this was the first time she has had a second serve of food in a day. I have cooked up a stack of organic vegies and freezed them in food trays to make it easy for when I go back to work and I think i'll continue just giving her her organic baby porridge of a night time as she loves that. She also has organic spelt rusks which she likes to munch on while I have breakfast. The Heinz ones made her spew and also have dairy which I have eliminated.
Olive is also getting a third tooth up the top by the looks of things and she bit my boob for the first time the other day and it hurt with her 2 little sharp teeth.
Anyway enjoy the rest of your weekends:)
-
Hi Girls, hope you all had a great weekend.
Didi - Yep I am on reductil, pretty much what Hollye said about it sums it up. I was on it a few years ago and it worked wonders with the weight loss. This time I am struggling a bit more to lose the weight but think that is because I don't have as much time up my sleeve to exercise as much. The only side effect I have as well is the sweating (didnt have that the first time I was on it) but my sweating has subsided a bit in the last few wks. I pay $80 a month for mine. When I was on it years ago I used to pay $130 a month so it has gotten cheaper.
Hollye - How come the dr put you up to 15mg? Is it coz you werent losing as much weight as you would have liked to lose? Maybe I need to go on the 15mg as well. Hope Mia is ok, I will read your other thread shortly!
OM - Ouch, bet it hurt when Olive bit your boob. Wow almost 3 teeth, Lara still doesnt have any. DD1 never got her first until 7 months. Bummer about Olive being allergic to apple and pear. I haven't started Lara on solids yet so not sure if she is allergic to anything. Hope you're enjoying work!
We had a few drinks on Friday night (about 4 -5, I wasn't drunk or anything ) but on Saturday morning I woke up feeling hungover. I felt like crap all day and DH had to work 12hrs, it was a nightmare. Must be coz I havent really had much to drink since before I fell preg with Lara.
Gotta go, hi to everyone
-
Leigh - Doc wasnt happy with the ammount i lost, so he bumped it up.
-
Has the amount or weight you lost since you've been on the 15mg a lot more? I really think I need the 15mg too
-
not on it yet, still have 2 tablets left of the 10mg. But ill let u know.
-
How much in what period of time you have been on it?
Also.. i went for a walk tonight.. and saw a guy under a lamp post getting off... it was awful.. a friend of mine and i saw it.. MAKES ME SO SICK.. awful people out there
-
Didi - Ew! How gross. There's been several of those around here on the beaches where the backpackers go. Pretty awful.
Leigh - isn't that weird how drink effects so much now.
Olive - How are your parents doing after the floods? Does it take long for insurance to kick in? How are you feeling being back at work? (even though its only been 2 days so far). Obviously you're feeling better about the decision with Olive being more settled the 2nd day, but while you're at work how does it feel?
Well sorry its been so long since ive been on again. just had the in-laws over for an extended weekend - 4 extra adults squashed into our very small house. It had me getting the house ready for 1 1/2 weeks prior to their arrival, happily gaving up our room and my sewing/scrapping room, we borrowed a camper for the 15 year old nephew while DH and i squeezed into Liam's room on the floor. And of course while they were here I was constantly on the go with looking after them and all the usual work involved with a baby. Well, it all was going pretty well I thought, until the last night when my usually bubbly SIL was talking to us and told us quite bluntly that they were leaving ASAP the next morning (meaning they'd be waiting @ the Sunny Coast for HOURS) because they felt so unwelcome. !!!!!!! WTF??????? !!!!!!! We're not the most natural entertainers, but not welcome???? Well, she was being a bit dramatic and I went off to bed before i said or did something i might regret. Poor DH then had to deal with the blow up (a smaller one than if i'd stayed up!). The excuse the next day was she's just recently gone back on the pill and has been really hormonal. So the whole time she's been taking all sorts of things completely the wrong way. Still, poor DH has been wanting them to come and see our new life up here for 3 years (while my parent are up 3 or 4 times a year) and had FINALLY got them up and it left a pretty bad taste in our mouths.
Oh, also, last Thursday when DH went down to the Sunny Coast to pick them up, he ended up almost blowing the motor and its still down there, going to cost $3500 to fix. Goodbye stimulus package plus plus plus.... :(
On other news Liam is soooo active ATM. He's finally rolling front to back and back to front, and you turn away for a second and when you look back he's completely changed position and direction on the floor. He's not far from crawling. He gets himself up on his knees, then pushes up even further and gets up on his toes! Like a plank in yoga, and holds it for a fair amount of time. And he's sitting up sooo well and even keeps his balance while moving around and reaching for things. Look out world, Liam will be on the move soon.
I'm off to see my new nephew today - with everything else i haven't been able to see him since he was just 1 day old.
-
Hollye how did Mia's appointment go? I hope all went well, big
1stbub yay for getting to see your nephew again, I can't wait until my brother and SIL have kids, it's going to be so great to be an aunty. Pfft to your SIL how rude was she.
Well it was good having mum down but she was only here for a while and it was way too short, hopefully it won't be long before I get to see her again.
Julian is having a bit of a problem with his teeth I do believe, he's waking two or three times a night which he never does and won't go back to sleep with out boobie and the newest thing today is fighting all his sleeps so far he's only had one sleep today and I'm trying to get him to have a small nap before his dinner feed, I must admit I have no idea what is up. I can feel a lump where his bottom teeth are so hopefully it's just that and once they are through he will go back to sleeping as I'm soooo not use to getting up at night, lol.
Woohooo, look at my avvy, yay, I wish I was that hot.
hugs xoxo
-
Hi everyone,
Hollye - I hope today went well, I still didn't get to read your other post to see what it's all about but am hoping all is good for you and Mia.
1stbub - good to hear from you. God all the relo's visiting sounds stressful, glad to hear Liam is good though. Olive is almost crawling as well.
The insurance assessor visited my parents yesterday and was really good. They can start getting quotes right away so hopefully it won't be too long before they are back to semi-normality.
Work has been delayed again as Olive is sick again. She has had diarhhoea(sp) for 72hrs and hasn't been feeding properly. She has also had high temps so have had her to the doctors and then up the hospital this morning. It's so stressful, I went to work yesterday arvo but when I got home DH was beside himself as Olive has been screaming so I stayed home today and we both looked after her. The hospital said that she is a bit dehydrated but not enough to need any intervention thank goodness and just to try and keep the fliuds up. She has just been biting the teats alot though and there is no easy way to get fluids into a baby that doesn't want to drink. The poor darling also has the worst nappy rash from all the diarhhoea. They took a sample but that won't be back for a couple of days so was probably pointless. Really hope she is on the mend.
-
Oh OM! What a stressful time you've had lately! Poor little Olive. I hope she gets back soon. to both of you.
Nephew was sleeping the whole time i was there so i hardly got to see him - sounds familiar, im sure Liam did that to my sister when he was that young too. Was good to see my sister tho. She's doing a great job.
AJ - Liam is suddenly becoming a bad sleeper too. Wakes most nights and can be hard to get back to sleep. I tried control crying today. :( Took him 30 mins to get to sleep then he woke up after only 30 mins and cried so hard again and was hard to console. DH settled him while i got to feel like the bad mummy. I've always been pro-control crying in theory but i'm not sure its the right thing for Liam. Or else i'm doing it wrong or just expecting more than i should at this stage (not expecting perfect happiness but the continued stress in him was not expected). Just really confused about how to get from where we are to him happily going off to sleep in his cot.
Going to bed to get some sleep before Liam's next waking. MG tomorrow - YAY!!!! :D
-
1stbub - can I suggest that you ring Karatani or tressilion in regards to sleep. They can advise you on how to go about control crying. I personally don't believe in it but I think that if you are going to do it it may be good to get some advice from professionals. There is also a book called 'No Cry Sleep Solutions', not sure who it's by but i'm sure if you google it you will find out. This is what some of the mums from my mothers group and aba recommend.
-
Om you poor lady!! Hang in there!!!
Well its my birthday this saturday and i am thinking romantic dinner out with hubby and gold class movie!!! Sounds nice to me..
I bought myself a pair of jeans 2 weeks ago that I didnt fit into.. A susan pair size 14 But really small 14 compared to target/k-mart ones.. and I am so excited I fit into them yesterday.. I am so excited!! I have been working so hard at loosing weight and just feeling nice and well attractive again.. I am excited!!!!!!!
Sorry to blab..
Well this whole daylight savings i dont like.. The kids both go down at 8-9 and wake at 8-9. well now its an hour earlier.. I guess i shouldnt complain as I have 2 kids that sleep through everynight without fail!
I am thinking of getting my haircut... but I want a new style and I want to find someone that is a really good cutter.... any ideas how to find this???
Have a great day.. weigh in tomorrow!!! WOO HOO I CANT WAIT!
-
hey girlies.
1stbub - hugs sweety xoxox I know its hard but take some deep breaths and remember we are all here for u and will help u through this sleep issue as much as we can. Another good boook that ladies from my mothers group used is "Save our sleep". Mayb just google around and see what u can find. Prob worth chucking a thread on here too in the sleeping section and seeing what everyone elses advice is. Personally we go by the 20 min rule here (advice from Mel). If we spend 20 mins trying to get her to sleep and shes not, we get her up and keep her awake for 20 mins then so on so forth. The second time she goes down shes asleep within 30 seconds :)
didi - come see me ;) ill do ur hair! lol what are u thinking about doing to it??? i dont even know what it looks like now.. take a pic and i can throw some ideas ur way.
OM - she has a tooth doesnt she???????? sounds like some more teethies are on their way through!!!
So yesterday at the RCH - they say the top valve in her stomach isnt closing, hence nothing staying down . Option 1 - surgery to do it manually.... NO Option 2 - give her a medication to help the lower valve empty her stomach quicker...did sound good until "oh but it has some creepy side effects such as her eyes might roll into the back of her head"... uh NO Option 3.. Just keep going as we are going, the valve will grow and slowly close as she grows. Sometimes is takes to 6 months n sometimes 2 years.... yep thats a good option!!
So here we are.. same girl, same vommit... but there was no way they were doing them things to her. And hay 2 years of it... really is nothing when i have another 50+ years with her.
-
Hollye - glad Mia doesn't need surgery, that would be scary.
Olive has 2 teeth and a top one on the way however she has never reacted before and health professionals say that temps etc usually aren't related. The doctor also looked at her top tooth and said that while it's close it isn't red yet, meaning the symptoms shouldn't be worrying her yet. I thought she was on the mend but has had more diarohhea this morning and is still not feeding and is generally grizzly and won't let me leave her side. I'm not sure if or when I should take her back to the doctors, she has drank 1500mls of fluid in 3 days.
Didi - congrats on the weightloss and new jeans! I love daylight savings and hate when it goes back. I don't finish work until 6 so it means I get home in the dark.
Happy b'day for saturday!!! Sounds like it will be lovely.
-
Hello - im still internet less and its driving me nuts! should have it all hooked up next week!
sounds like i am missing alot!
Hollye - wow u have been going thru a bit with little Mia havent u! good thing she dosent have to have surgery!
1stbub27 - i know how u feel - we have been going thru that also! but now B is starting to settle again and is only waking once a night but on a bad night she wakes twice! it will get better! These bubs like to keep us on our toes!
Amanda - still have heard about ur visit with leslie!!!
OM - a 3rd tooth is on the way??? oh my golly gosh! B still hasnt cut her first one!
Well Bianca is we and truely getting around now days which is great but sooo full on - we got her a walker the other day and she zooms around all over the place in it!
Im also a bit worried tho that Bianca's silent reflux is comming back as she screams everytime she has a bottle and will only drink about 50mls each time and has about 3bottles a day - so im a bit worried - could it be teething?
I put gaviscon in her bottle last night and that seemed to help!
Anyways i gotta go
Hello to everyone and sorry for the lack of personals!
Have a Happy Easter!!!
-
Thanks girl.. I apprecaite your comments.
I have dark hair shoulder lenght all one lenght and want it short..

-
Hi Girls,
Hollye - I'm glad Mia doesnt need the operation too, Lara is still vomiting all the time too.
HJ - Good to hear from you. Wow B zooming around in her walker. I haven't tried Lara in her walker. She isn't crawling yet and still no teeth either. Hopefully the silent reflux isnt making a come back!!!
Didi - Happy B'day for Saturday, have a great day. What you have planned sounds great.
OM - Poor Olive, hope she gets better soon.
1stBub - Grrrr, can't believe you sister inlaw said that. I would've been so annoyed if I were you too. Glad you got to see your nephew.
Amanda - Hope Julian's teeth problems settle soon and you and him start getting some proper sleep! Love the avvy by the way!
Nothing much to report on me, its wet up here and looks like we'll have a wet easter. DH is working all weekend so we arent doing anything special.
-
hey girlies :) more pics of Mia in gallery.. feeding her face
-
Wow a lot's happened on here today.
Hollye - must be good to have a reason behind the chucking. You're right, 2 years isn't long, especially when the alternatives aren't very nice. I like your suggestions for sleep, they sound very practical and sound. I'll have a look round for the books, though things are ridiculously tight given the big motor repair (oh, turns out the motor is actually blown so = $4500 to fix now. :( ). OM, your suggestions for contacting the professionals is a good idea too.
Didi - you've had NOTHING naughty since Jan 15??? WELL DONE!! You definitely deserve your weight loss. Savour your night on Saturday - bet you'll be looking hot in your new skinny jeans. ;)
HJ - good to hear from you!! Bet the new house is very fun and exciting. I didn't think loss of appetite was part of teething so sounds like it could be the reflux returning. JMO of course.
Leigh - sorry about the wet quiet Easter. Ours will be quiet too, though we might do something with the family. Oh wait, I think my parents will be up by then! They're riding up from Melbs on their motorbikes. Last time they did that they crashed and mum badly hurt her wrist. I'm sure they'll be fine but it makes me a little nervous, especially in the Easter traffic. Will be great to see them though. (less work than some relatives.... ;) ).
Well, I'm going to be a consultant for Baby Beehinds cloth nappies!!! Just getting all the paper work sorted out and have to order my kit. Will look at doing a BB special once I'm all up and running. I'm very excited! LOVE my Baby Beehinds, and am looking forward to the chance to throw myself into something aside from 'just' mummyhood. Hope everyone has a good night. (myself included. :) )
-
Thank you guys so much!! Its nice to feel good again! 2 kids later.
Going to a lovely restaurant on sat night with hubby while kids are being minded.
Jorda has a lump on her back/neck and she had a US yesterday and they said it doesnt look good.. So now the stress of getting a MRI done... so knocking her out.. I am going to take this one step at a time.... but.. so concerned.
Happy Easter everyone! I am going to eat a WHOLE EGG.. or Rabbit or something.. Lindt choc... not cadbury i need the good stuff!!
-
Happy Easter Everyone!
Leigh - bugga that DH is working all weekend - but raining is good! i love the rain
Hollye - wow i loved those pics of Mia eating the pasta - i havent tried B on pasta and or meat yet - im still making her vegies - she has had potato, pumpkin, carrot, and brocolli and loves it all - can i start her on meat now???
1stBub - i have read somewhere along the line that when teething they can be put of their food - but ??? who knows! Woohoo on being a baby beehinds consultant!!!
Had B weighed etc yesterday and she is now 7.7kgs and is 68/69cm long - almost of the scale for length! i think we might be in a bit of trouble here with a tall, pretty blonde!!! many sleepless nights ahead of us i think - might have to buy a shot gun! hehehe
-
Didi - u deserve to treat urself!!!!
-
Thank you all very very much!.. Makes me smile... did loose 2.4kg this week at ww!!
