Been very busy here as well, Julian has a cold as do Wyatt and Cody, so have 3 snotty and grumpy boys. Then we've had a crap load of rain which flooded some of the roads around here, plus we're looking at houses to move and there are heaps of people and not alot of houses. We've got another inspection today with a house that we like and hopefully put the application in as well. We put an application in for one yesterday so hopefully we will get at least one of them.
Julian has his physio appointment at 11am today and fingers crossed this will be the very last time, as he is now up on his hands and knees for a few days now and that is what they wanted him to be able to do.
Ok off to do some housework before I leave. Have a great day everyone.

OM - For lunch some things Mia has is , Yogurt, Avacado on toast, Fruit ( so far shes had rockmelon, watermelon and banana) umm.. n what evers going. Tea time.. usually what ever we are having. I was using jars but they are gross and full of crap. They make her poo's like tar lol. But that being said I am guilty of giving her one every now and then. My god.. they smell so bad. lol. She likes the tomatoe based ones more. Um.. i do her vegies (brocolli, cauliflower, peas, corn, carrot and zuchini) every 2 weeks. It gets cooked all together and frozen in icecube trays. I have some baby pasta in the freezer too which i have mixed with chopped roast chicken breast and a little white sauce. Even if what we are having doesnt have too much goodness in it i mix it with her veg and sometimes pasta to make it much more nutricious.
-
We nearly have teeth 3 & 4 :) poor little man...they must hurt soo much :( he is biting everything...
Hollye we got told by our nutritionist that making a bulk lot of vegies and freezing them is not good. That when they have been cooked and then frozen then defrosted ALOT of the nutrition is taken out of the vegies.... just food for thought...
Jack does eat what we are eating and eats jars of baby oats (organic) with figs and other fruits in them.
-
still no teeth here.. no nothing...
kat- thanks for that info.

Just on another topic..
When you go to the shops do you tend to buy toys for your little one?
Are you into having lots of things for him/her?
So may cute things you need them??
-
Hollye - Not sure which jars your buying but the ones we have here are always organic and only have vegies. The only ones that I have seen with spices was the butternut pumpkin one Olive had last night. They are perserved by airlocking not by preservatives. I am very health food concious and always read labels for Olive's things. I agree that baby food products are sometimes full of sugar and salt though, especially baby yogurts and cheese. I steer clear of salty things as I don't want heart disease later on and for Olive to get used to always having seasonings.
didi - I do buy new toys occasionally as Olive gets bored with hers and we do a bit of rotating as well as she has heaps. Now that she is crawling she is into everything we are doing anyway and doesn't play with her toys for long! I give her spoons and stuff like that and she is quite happy. I'm do buy lots of clothes though, both new and second hand but then I love clothes shopping for me to:)
-
OM - yep i get the same ones. Mia has already had the 2 u mentioned. i just feel better making her my own stuff and im trying to get rid of needing jars at all.
didi - Nah i dont buy Mia much in the way of toys. Every now and then she will get something that i see but it wont be planned. Like last week, coles, they had these Dora dolls going out for $3 or something so i grabbed her one. She does have quite a few toys but got them for christmas and from family. Tho i do quite like the Lamaze toys, and so does she.
For u girls that are on face book.. more pics of Mia on there..

Hey all just a quick one - i make all of B's food also - i do it every week - steam up a whole heap of vegies, chicken, mince etc and than freeze it - i do 5nights worth, as for lunch she usually has a sandwich, however today i brought her some spaghetti O's - has anyone tried their bub on them yet?
Also Hollye i brought B some weetbix today! so will try them on her once her museli is gone!
B also has fruit, cheese and or yogurt during the day to munch on! oh and the occasionally arrowmilk biscuit which she loves - i try and stay clear of the jar foods as she is not a fan of them, also i love making her, her own dinner!
Still no teeth her either!!!!
B has her christening on sunday! im getting excited - after the ceremony we are having everyone come back here, so today we brought the decorations, the alcohol, and ordered the food - gee its all adding up - thank god its not something u do every day!!!
-
we got the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yay!
-
WOOHOOOOO!!!
and Happy 7mths Mia xoxoxo
-
Congrats Hollye - When can you move in? Can you get a long lease?
I've just come from seeing my parents who have had to evacuate their house for the third time in 3 months. I feel so sorry for them. I feel so helpless as I can't really help with Olive to look after. This time isn't as bad as last time but it still sucks. I can't believe Olive's been through 3 floods already.
I also found out today that the operation to have my kidney stone removed has been scheduled for next thursday as they had a cancellation. I got a letter a month ago to say it would be a year so am kinda in shock but it will be good to get it over and done with.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Oh hj - what do you put on B's sandwiches?
-
Hello lovely ladies, it's been a while :D, How is everyone doing (I'll read through posts later)
Well I've no excuse except I just got OVER the whole computer thing and went in to self imposed exile for a little while.
We are still doing well Angus is growing madly and we can just feel the beginnings of his first tooth (has juuuuust cracked through the gum).
We are trying to start the solid thing but so far have met mainly resistance,
baby rice- "Pah no way mum"
baby porrige- "what is this supposed to be???? are you serious mum?"
Pureed pear- "yep I think I'll let you continue with this...but only on my terms OK"
Have been trying to give a night bottle as I don't think BF is filling him up for long enough and I am over the 3 hourly wake up thing!
has been having a bottle for the last four nights for bed with varying results one full nights sleep (just to mess with my head) then hit and miss for the rest.
He's grown sooooo big and is bumping around the room on his back and rolling to reach things, he even bumped the entire length of the lounge room floor and then whacked his sleeping sister in the head ( a sign of things to come)
has anybody else got AF back??? I got it 2mths ago....soooo depressed tried to convince DH to go back for N#3 but I really don't think he's buying it!
had some issues with Angus he had a chesty cough since 1mth of age (like he had a continual chest infection) and have only just managed to get in to see a pediatrician and he had an xray and a sweat test done and I am still waiting for the results...in the mean time the cough seems to have finally fixed its self.
will pop in soon and read through the other posts to catch up on you all just wanted to re-subscribe so I can keep up,
love to all Allie, Paige and Angus xxxxxx

Hi Girls,
Blizz - Great to hear from you. Hope everything goes well with Angus's test results. Lara isnt too fussed on her solids either.
OM - Your poor parents having to evacuate again. What a pain in the bum!!! Good luck for your kidney stone operation next week. Least it will be over and done with.
Hollye - Congratulations on getting the house. How long is the lease for?
HJ - How exciting B getting christened on Sunday. Hope everything goes well on the day. I want to get Lara christened but we havent gotten around to doing it yet. I'd like to do it while she is still a baby. DD1 still hasnt been done so I'd like to get them done at the same time.
Didi - I only buy Lara some toys every now and then. I'd love to buy her heaps of stuff but we live in a 2bedroom unit and just dont have the room, plus she is my last baby so I dont want to buy too much stuff.
Gotta go, hi to everyone else. Have a great weekend!!!
-
Allie - really great to hear from u! it has been awhile! its also good to hear that Angus is doing well too! sounds like he is going to be a fussy boy when it comes to solids! hehehe - he must just love that booby milk too much tho! and good on him! is his night time bottle express milk or formula? if its formula does he like it?
Thats a bit funny about him hitting his sister on her head! hehehe typical brotherly thing to do but oh so cute!
Hollye - when do u move? if i could i would help u pack but since i cant i guess i will just think of u packing than! hehehe
OM - B usually just has promite on her sandwiches, however have tried her on jam but that was a once off i dont really want her getting a taste for sweet stuff yet, so nothing too flash yet for her, she just mainly sucks them to death - will be easier when she gets some toothy pegs! i tried her on spaghetti O's today and she really did like them!
Oh she has had banana sandwiches also! Last night for dinner she had mince, potato, carrot and pumpkin all steamed and purred and she loved it.
Leigh - getting both ur girls christened together is a good idea! anyideas on when u will do it? its not something we were definatly going to do but mum brought out the christening gown that myself and my brothers wore when we were christened and i thought hmmmm it would be nice to get B christened in the same gown, at the same church so yep tomorrow is the big day! i hope all goes well!
Well tomorrow is B's Christening - i think we are all ready for it - it has been raining all day so will be too wet to have ppl outside at our place afterwards so inside it will be!
We have brought all the drinks - we are supplying beer, wine, and softdrink, will pick up a few platters that i have ordered on way home after ceremony! also picked up the decorations today - something we wanted to be kept small has all of a sudden become big and has cost quite a fair bit of money! but oh well she is worth it! can just imagine how big her 1st bday is going to be! hehehe
-
Good luck with B's Christening tomorrow HJ. Is it at a catholic church?
Liam's meals generally go: Breaky - rice cereal and apple, Lunch - vegies (a selection generally from pumpkin, carrot, potato, zucchini, peas, avocado) and I've recently tried minced beef which he likes, Dinner - natural yoghurt with either banana avocado pumpkin or apple, or banana and avocado mixed together. Pretty straight forward...could use a little more variety now I think. (I love the idea of pureeing rice! I'd never thought of that!!) I cook and mix it all up myself and only use jars very occasionally. I have my fridge filled with takeaway containers each filled with a different food in ice-cube form so i can just chuck a selection together. I'm always on the lookout at markets etc for really cheap fruit & veggies - I'm obsessed! :)
OM - I suspect Liam will be an early walker too. For the past couple of weeks he's been pulling himself up on anything he can (including walls and doors!) and is just starting to figure out moving around while standing. I was dreading it, but we've been training him on the concept of 'No' and he's pretty good at leaving most things alone now when told. He looks quite funny coz he's still fairly small compared to the other bubs in MG but there's only 1 other crawling and standing and shes a month older.
Just had my 1st party tonight -what a lot of fun! Good to be doing something aside from 'just mothering' too.
Starry - I keep meaning to ask, what type of fluffy mail do you have coming?
Hollye - congrats on getting the house! Sounds like there were quite a few applicants too, well done. Is Mia doing any better?
Didi - I don't buy many toys. Having the car engine fixed stopped a bit of that. Also we have a fairly small house so there's not much room. I'm usually looking for items around the house he can play with - nappy bag, tupperware, shoe box, spoons. They keep him fairly well occupied most of the time. ATM he just wants to figure stuff out - opening, closing, making noises when he does certain actions etc. I keep meaning to go to the toy library to pick a few things up too. Saves both the $$ and storage issues.
How's Jorda going now?
-
I really dont buy much for toys at all.
I use the soft drink bottle filled with popcorn or something. Glue the lid so it wont open and she thinks its great.
I guess cause hey grow out of toys so dast then what to do with them afterwards!
-
Just a really quick one!
B's christening went great - she got soooo many nice presents also which we did not expect.
And.............
She is 7mths old today!!!
-
Woo-hoo for Bianca...7mths!!! yay, we are almost there actually tomorrow
We have finally had some success in the solid food department and Angus is finally opening his mouth excitedly to mashed banana, pureed pear, and sweet potato (not all mixed together of course )
now to try and slip some baby cereal in to his fruit, just been waiting till he gets more confident in eating whats offered...gosh it's taken a while..oh well guess its not like me to have a child with out a stubborn streak LOL!!
our first tooth has poked a fair way through now(he bit me on the finger with it today when I was trying to check)
Still not showing any signs of sitting up on his own, but he can nearly hold it if we place him right, is bumping himself all over the lounge room on his back and rolling all over the place to get to what he wants.
love to all, Allie xxxx
