NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :crying:
i cant handle hearing how well eveyone's babies are sleeping! i mean im so happy for u all but what about me???????????? :crying:
Thats alright u can all have the darling well behaved babies - i will have the good well behaved teenager! hehehehehe
Amanda - how long did Julian have the "pimples" for? Bianca just woke up with them one morning, however they look like they are starting to fade a bit!
She is being funny at the moment - she is in her bouncer "sleeping" but keeps opening one eye to check that im still here - when i do leave the room and she notice's she lets out a big scream until i come back!
-
THE BEST THING I HAVE IS A SWING!!!!! Anyone else have one??
-
HJ - Sorry about the sleeping comments - didnt mean to rub it in  James has had pimples for about 2 weeks now and they are still there - his skin is really dry too so I think he might be a bit prone to eczema like Izzy so I am lathering him in sorbelene too. Izzy had the pimples for close to a month from memory and they finally went away! Bianca has nearly hit James' birth weight! What a cutie! I forget how big my little man really is when I hear you guys tell us your weights!! :D
Didi - I don't have a swing but know lots of people love them! We love our hammock! Bounces himself to sleep which is nice!
Amanda - I love MG - it is great to get out with other mums and feel a bit normal again.
That's all I can manage for now, James has had a bit of a tummy ache today poor man - might have been the half glass of red I had but then again I had it at 8 and he fed at 330 so who knows. :( Chat soon! xox
-
HJ he got them not long after he was born maybe about a week, and they have just started to go now, so nearly 6 weeks. I found that if he cried or was too hot the looked alot worse, but they do go.
Didi nope no swing, I hope Jorda is enjoying it. And to answer your question re xmas shopping, yep we laybyed nearly everything and will be picking it up when K-rudds money comes in.
Tan I've enjoyed a glass of red the pass two nights, has been nice.
Forgot to say that I got Julian weighed at playgroup and he's now 4.6kgs, up 1.1kgs since birth.
hugs xoxo

hey girls.
an.. alright day here today. Went to my sisters after school coz its my neices 12th bday and well, Mia got abit over stimulated when it was her sleep time. So im sure i dont have to explain what she was like when we got home. :wall: we have just managed to get her to sleep.
HJ - yep every baby gets them pimples. Completley normal. they will go away. Mia has had them since 2 weeks really and she still has her good and bad days with them. Dont worry... Mia is just having a good run, i cant see tonight being a good night.
Im gonna ring and get another checkup for Mia next week. She has a little one on friday at my 6 week check so im thinking she will get weighed then anyway? her last one she was 4 weeks old and weighed 3.98 kilos. So im sure she would be around the same as Bianca!! OMG these girls do everything the same! lol
Did everyone check out Mia in her new dress that we brought her at target yesterday? Its in my gallery! lovin it :D:D
anyhoo.. talk soon xox
ps. didi - no i dont have one but i have heard so many ppl rave about them.
Tan - Have u got new pics of James?????
-
hj1981- We have a pretty small house too so I am getting this swing called a 'Little Tikes 2 in 1 Snug and Secure Swing' (google it to get a picture). It's probably suited from about 5mths to 4-5yrs and can be attached to anything ie the clothes line etc. I was going to get an electronic baby swing but they are quite expensive and don't last long. We used to have one of these swings at the childcare centre I worked at and it was great, pretty cheap too.
You are not doing anything wrong in regards to sleep and you're probably right about the teen thing. Also at this stage I don't think any of us should speak to soon as our babies may turn around tomorrow and decide not to sleep anymore! They are very unpredictable creatures.
Someone mentioned the $1000 from K-Rudd, I was pretty spewin that we missed out by like 3 days, oh well.
-
hi everyone,
hj- if u want I can look in my big w (across the road!! heheh!!!) for you, re the chrissy outfit, give me a description and I can send it to you.
Jacob also has milia (milk pimples) has had since about day 2, they are slowly clearing up.
we found out yesterday that dps nanna has cancer and they have given her weeks to live. spent the afternoon at the hospital with her as she hadnt met Jacob yet. itsall very sad and upsetting, especially at this time of year.

Tan - LOL i will forgive u just this once for rubbing it in (only joking its okay..... i guess). watch out James my not so little girl is going to over take u in the weight department soon! What do u bath James in? i was bathing B in J&J lavender stuff and was told by nurse at chemist yesterday not too, she gave me some sample stuff called DermaVeen - she said that would help her with the pimples?!
Amanda - yep that is just like Bianca - when she cries or is hot the pimples get worse!
so good to hear that for once my bub is like everyone else's LOL now why wont she just sleep? hehehe. Julian is doing well in putting on weight also! but just like James he better watch out, Bianca is comming thru!
Hollye - hahaha once again B is totally the same when she gets over stimulated - i took her out shopping yesterday and oh my gosh! it was all the chrissy lights i think - she loved them - than we made another mistake and took her for a walk last night to try and settle her..... but more chrissy lights go the better of her!
Mind u i got her too sleep at 2130 which beats 2200/2230!!!!
How was ur night? did Mia sleep well? Bet she did! on 2nd thoughts dont tell me how well she slept...........
and see i told u that Mia and Bianca were alike! another reason why u should really try to move to Brissy! Havent seen the dress yet but will check it out as soon as im done here! :D
Olive'smummy - i will google that swing shortly! would be great to put her in it while im doing the washing - had big probs trying to do the washing yesterday with her screaming and i couldnt take her outside with me cause im still just a bit wary of the dog - although he loves her and is very protective i still just dont want too take the risk!
I have one of those hang of the wall clothesline tho - so might not work!
Starry - ur just too nice! i got a friend to check a BIG W near her on her way home from work and the dress wasn't there either must be popular- the outfits for boys were but not the girlie ones! Are u serious about looking for me? if so its a little red chrissy dress that comes with a head band (if i remember correctly) its like a little Mrs Clause outfit - it was with more chrissy outfits for boys that were like santa's outfit, with santa's hat attached! Was really cute i thought!
Sorry to hear about DP's nanna - that is really sad - makes it even more sadder cause of the time of year! Bet it made her day too meet Jacob! That just might be what she needed to hang in there for longer!
-
Anyways im off to get ready to go out - im meeting up with some ladies i met on here that live in my area! im a bit nervous tho - usually DH comes with me to hold my hand! hahahaha - but i have Bianca now - she will look after me! :D
-
Starry - Im so sorry to hear your sad news hun. :( This year will be our first Christmas without DH's pa who passed away a few days before we found out James was a boy and it's going to be super tough. to you and your family.
Have fun HJ!!!!! I use Gaia stuff for James and sometimes nothng at all, but I keep him well moisturised all the time. Same with Isabelle because she used gets a bit of eczema. Dermaveen is great, all the J&J stuff and also Huggies bath stuff has nasties in it that smell great but they dry the bubs skin out terribly if they are prone to a bit of eczema. There are lots of nice ones out there, a bit more expensive but worth it. Ive used Keri, Gaia, Aromababy (we use their barrier balm for nappy rash and it smells divine) Avado and Emu Oil.
Also - I saw the CUTEST outfit for a baby girl at Target yesterday - it was a little red puffy dress with matching knickers - too cute! I would have bought it for Izzy if it came in a 1!
Olivesmummy - We have the Fisher Price one of those swings and it is great. We used an insert from Ikea for Izzy when she was 6 mths old when she got it at Christmas last year. As long as bub can sit up unaided and can support their own head they can use it! They are great!
Hollye - I just posted a few new pics! I love your little dress on Mia - too cute!!!
Amanda - Yay for the great sleep but I hear you on the bb's. They do settle quickly though hun. Mine have stopped waking me now thank goodness. Its been around 2-3 weeks.
Hello to all Ive missed!
Off to do who knows what today ladies! I might do some more shopping! I went to a lingerie party with a friend last nght, James was hilarious in a room full of girly girls, he farted and burped all night! Good to get the wind out though poor love. I was so jealous of all the beautiful bras and knickers - I've been in maternity bras for 2 years now and will be for at least another year or more til James finishes feeding. Ah well!
I can't wait for James' 8 week check - Im sure he has passed 5.5kgs now!! :) Such a big man, people can't believe he is only 6 weeks old!
Ok Im off to shower etc! have a great day all!
-
Hollye and Tan - saw the latest pics of Mia and James and they are so cute!
Tan - great!!! would u believe i have a whole heap of J&J products and huggies stuff!!! i got heaps from baby shower! oh well i will just use it for my self!
I have actually seen that Gaia stuff so i might try using it for Bianca, if not i will stick with DemaVeen!
Gee with these lil bubs its one thing after another isnt it! all this stuff u just don't get told about!
Might have to check target out sometime - that dress sounds cute! the one at BIG W had matching nickers too i think!
How funny was James - sounds like he was definatly out to impress! hehehe
-
HJ - Don't worry you aren't the only one who isn't get the best sleep. Logan wakes up 3 hourly at night. He initially gets a bit longer first sleep, then bang on the 3 hours after that. Last night he woke at 3 with horrible wind pains and screamed for an hour before exhausting himself and going back to sleep - it was horrible. He couldn't even feed because of the pains.
PS - Logan has pimples too - apparently from the hormones.
-
Just a quick one today. Started Liam on Heinz Nurture Saturday night. What a difference! To start with - it looks like milk!! All smooth and flowing. Lactogen always seemed heavy and slightly grainy. seems to be easier for him to 'pass' too. ;)
Had a big day yesterday. DH was back at work and I was driving his big chunky 4WD (while he's got my little 3door buz box. :) ). Had our 6 week check up which seemed quick and irrelevent. They took Liams measurements (4.8kg now - up 1.2kg from birth, 57cm - up 4cm from birth) asked how my c-section wound is going and were happy and that was about it. Liam smiled and laughed at all the staff, threw up all over him me and the floor in the waiting room :), and was generally really well behaved.
Then went to see the LC. She asked what was going on, then got me to try to feed him without the sheild - he latched right on and stayed there the little bugger!! LOL The only difference from home is that i didn't have a pillow under him, which ive found to be the difference between it working or not at home since. I've been feeding him at home without the shield for most feeds now (unless he's too tired/fussy etc). He's not having a lot yet, but he's staying on and keeps latching on fine, so it will now be a slow process of cutting down the formula amounts given and building up my supply while being a little stubborn with him since I know he'd prefer the quick and easy bottle. She gave me some good tips too, and just a bit of confidence that we can realistically go back to bf for the most part.
I have to laugh, people keep telling me how calm and in control I look, especially given he's my 1st. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA  I always knew I'd make a good actress. ;)
I'll have to come back and read all the posts I've missed, so sorry, no personals today. Hope you're all going well with your li'l ones.
-
HI everyone,
I have time to post a quick hello and a short update on Meara. We are still doing the comp feeding and she has finally put on some weight yay. She is sleeping well too. Much better than her big sister. She will sleep from about 10.30pm to anywhere between 4.30 and 6am. Am very happy about that lol.
Hi to everyone and sorry about no personals but a little short on time lately ; ) Will try to get through the pages soon. Take care xxx
-
Kylie - cool i have a sleep deprived buddy!!!
1stBub27 - good to hear all went well at 6wk check up! im actually looking forward to Bianca's! However DH is now working so he wont be able to come! :(
Tan - i was going thru all the stuff i was given at baby shower and we have a bath wash called "Curash" do u think that might be okay to use on Bianca?
Anyways Ladies - im going to confess to something here - and its stressing me out big time! DH and i dtd for the first time last night since having B and i actually noticed some mucus discharge during the day - was kinda thinking i might be Ovulating - is that possible at 5wks after having a baby? Is it maybe a bad thing i gave into temptation without playing it safe?
-
KimB - Good to hear that all is going well with Little Meara - im not going to comment on the sleeping thing tho! hahahaha
-
hj - u are on the pill arnt you?
-
Nope - my OB told me to get off it when i started getting some really big clots! was only on it for 3days!
-
Should i take the morning after pill?
oh my gosh i cant believe i did this! how stupid am i!!!!
-
hj, I have read that you can ovulate 2 weeks after having a baby so to play it safe I would get the m/a pill. Are you sure it wasn't just lochia still coming out? But still I wouldn't risk it. If you have read my thread 'scared' in the relationships section you will know that dtd is freaking me out enough without worrying about getting pregnant again. Oh I was going to ask about contraception actually. I have been off the pill for a couple of years and lost heaps of weight and generally felt heaps better as I had been on it for 7yrs. I'm reluctant to go back on it but was wondering if the mini pill has the same side effects as the full pill? I was also wondering if anyone out there has used a diaphram? where do you get them?
-
i would go get in HJ... u are very fertile after u have a bub. I havent even been game to DTD yet. And i know i wont be for months. Theres no way i could do another bub right now.
-
Olive'smummy - i can't help u with the mini pill question! but i know what u mean about feeling better not being on the pill! i too lost weight when i came off it!
i have never used a diaphram either - but don't u get them fitted at ur GP? Or with ur gyne or OB?
No idea if it was lochia or not but i got the m/after pill anyway just too play it safe!
Hollye - i did end up getting the pill - took me awhile to actually be game enough to take it! wanted to make sure it was the right thing -
I hope no-one thinks badly of me cause of all this! its my own silly fault i know, but in the heat of the moment.......... and as much as i miss being pregnant and i have my regrets about the pregnancy and labour and every day i wish i could re-do it, im not ready for another baby - we have too much going on next year and i want to spend a bit more time with just Bianca!
i can certainly say i have learnt my lesson tho!
-
Olive'smummy - i read ur post - and i posted in it if u want too read it!
-
HJ - Of course we don't think badly of you hun! I got pg with James while breastfeeding and I never got my period at all! We knew there was a bit of a risk but didn't think it would happen quite so soon!!! I hope you get it all sorted hun!
Hello to everyone - quickie here too! I have been shopping with a gf all day and I mean ALL day! I left Izzy with my dad and took James with us and he was just a gem! Slept or smiled in the pram all day, fed and back to sleep! Such a good little guy! Off to have dinner! Chat soon ladies!
-
I have my 6 week appt next Friday - I will talk about contraception then. Does the mini pill affect your milk at all?
Today was Logan's 4 week check up and he now weighs 5.385 kg, an increase of 680g in 2 weeks!!! He's certainly not having any feeding issues LOL. He has also grown 2cm, some 000 clothes are almost too small for him now. I can't believe how fast they grow out of stuff.
HJ - When Logan is really hard to settle, I put him in the sling and he sleeps straight away. Then the only trouble is getting him out of it to put him to bed. I had to do that tonight as he was screaming his head off and nothing else worked.
-
Thanks Tan :)
Kylie - my golly Logan is getting big! They do grow fast don't they! Bianca is now starting to fit in 000!!!!
Im not 100% sure but i don't think the mini pill affects ur milk!
Also the bouncer seems to work for Bianca in settling her, we just have to sit there and bounce it tho thats the only prob! hahaha
She is wide awake at the moment - im finding it hard not too play with her - but im trying to get her too realise that night time is not play time! Makes it hard being home alone! thank god this is DH's 2nd last night shift for 18mths!
Well here i am on the net patiently waiting for Bianca to go too sleep so i can have a shower! Don't think that will be happening anytime soon tho!
-
Kylie - The mini pill is fine when breastfeeding hun, you just have to make sure you take it at the same time every day. Even taking it at a few hours different to the day before makes it far less effective. I am going to try Implanon - we definitely don't want another one so close and James is gorgeous proof that breastfeeding isn't foolproof!! :)
-
OUCH!!!! Implanon - can they knock u out for that?
-
I don't think so HJ! It's basically a needle - I think I will be more scared to get it out than in! How is the Curash going?? I think it still has that sulphate stuff in it so see how you go.
We had a great night last night - James went down at 830, stirred at 1 so I rocked his hammock thinking this ain't gonna work and he slept til 645! :) Izzy was up at 5 thought for some odd reason, now that she's in a big girl bed she likes us to lie down with her at times to settle her which is ok but I tend to fall asleep and then she gets even more used to it so Ive been trying to sit instead of lying down!
Im off - I have a girlfriend who I went to high school with coming today, first time we have seen each other in around 14 years! Yep Im that old! :) Have a great day ladies!!!
-
Tan - i just used it for the first time last night - so can't comment on it at this stage!
And my gosh 14years!!! hahahaha and i thought i was old! hehehe only joking!
That should be a good day for u - does she have any kids? man u would have alot of catching up too do!
Have Fun!
What a hellish night i had! DH was on night shift so Little Miss decided to play up BIG time!
After a BIG battle she feel asleep at 2240 - woke up at 0125 and than after a even bigger battle and me ending up letting her cry herself to sleep (i felt so cruel) she finally fell asleep at 0300 and than started stirring again at 0500 - i got up too her at 0530 and she has been up since!
Im not a happy chappy this morning!
-
-
-
ahhh lil miss bianca is coming up for her 6 week growth spirt by the sounds of it. Mia is the demon child atm too. It took from 4:30pm till 10:30pm (yep 6 HOURS) to get her to stop screaming the house down. What made it worse is i had no idea what was wrong with her. She was completley feral.
-
Hollye - that is Bianca EVERY night!!! and im not joking - it is hell!
I got the practical parenting magazine (i love it) and i found a website in it - its called the Worlds Best Sleep Solutions -Im starting to think that maybe she is over tired cause im missing the tired signs - And that might be what was up with Mia last night!
Apparently u are meant to watch for the tired signs and put them to bed straight away - if u miss them than they can become overtired within 10mins and be really hard to settle!
This mothering stuff isn't as easy as they make it out too be!
-
Hi Girls,
I hope you don't mind me joining this thread. I had DD2 (Lara Jade) on the 26th of October, 3 wks early, by emergency c/s. I was due 13 - 15 Nov. DH and I also have another DD who is 3. Lara is such a good baby (so far anyway).
You girls may have already discussed this and sorry if you have but are any of you still bleeding? After I had DD1 I only bled for 2 wks but I am still bleeding now and Lara is almost 6 wks old. I am bottle feeding Lara (DD1 was breast fed) so not sure if that makes a difference. I also had the implanon inserted while I was in hospital so maybe that is the cause.
-
Welcome Leigh and congratulations on the birth of Lara!!! I bled for 6 weeks when I had Isabelle and this time around it was around 4 weeks. I am going to have implanon too and have been told you can get a bit of spotting as well so I would say if it continues in another week or so you might want to go see your GP about it and find out.
Off to have pics with santa today! I hope my gorgeous girl sits still for more than 5 secs for the photo! Back later!
-
Goodmorning Leigh and welcome! also congrat on Lara!
I bleed for 4wks, and apart from that i can't help u much - but like Tan said it could be just from the Implanon! Also was DD1 a c-section aswell? that may make a difference if she wasn't????
Tan - i was going to do the same with Bianca this morning - but i don't think she has been good enough to see Santa! She is definatly on the naughtly list!!!
I had yet again another Hellish night! B went to bed at 2230 woke at 0045 (what is with that) and than i couldn't get her back to sleep until just after 0300 and she woke again at 0500 and is STILL awake! I swear my daughter hates me! Thank god last night was DH's last night shift for at least 18mths! Im so tempted to go sleep at mum and dad's tonight just so i can get some sleep for the first time in over 5wks!!!
-
Hi all!
I think it's about time I get back on board with posting! Have been reading, jut not posting.
Hope everything is going well for everyone! My DS had the BEST night last night. Went to sleep at 8pm, had a 'top-up' feed at 10pm (which he hardly woke for) and then slept til 5am!!! Then back down until 8am!
This is the first time I have done the 'top-up' feed at 10pm, will definetly keep doing that!
Have a good day everyone! :D Oh off to update my ticker, how slack!
-
Welcome Leigh, congrats on the birth of Lara. I bled until 5 weeks this time, but with one of the others I have bled until 6 weeks, but if it keeps going go check it out with the doctor.
Tan have fun getting your Santa pics today.
HJ sweety big , she doesn't hate you, maybe it would be good for you to have a rest at your mum and dad's, then you will be nice and refreshed and be able to deal with B.
Hippy how have you been? How's your little man going? Forgive my brain but what did you call him?
hugs xoxo
-
Hi AmandaJ! I've been good. The first 2-3 weeks were hell, not because of DS but I ended up with an infection after the C/S and was quite sick, but all is great now! We called DS Banjo. He is doing so well! How's your little man going???
