katones it sounds like the goats milk formula is going to work a treat.
Tanya Cody my fourth boy was b/f for 17mths and in the first 6mths he had tonsilitis 3-4 times, like Sami said it just helps them to stay a little more happy and not get it as bad as it could be.
hugs xoxo
-
AmandaJ...i hope so!!!! he has just had his second feed today (6am drank EVERY last drop, 10am feed left 60mls) and is in his bouncer....give hime 45mins and he will be grizzly..time for sleep :D
his baptism gown should arrive today :)
-
Katones, that's fab re the goats milk formula! you must be so pleased!
my little man was up at 2am and just unhappy. He kept rubbing at his head and near his ear... so some panadol & cuddles did the trick. Poor little fella.
-
awww poor Xander :( NOT nice when they are grumpy ..
well the 45mins didn't last...he is asleep now....
-
katones - Good news about the goats milks. :)
belfie - Yeah I just cannot express in the afternoon/evening. That's great if you can get 100 mls in the evening. I tried expressing at 10pm (her previous feed was at 5pm) and it took me forever to get 20 mls from one breast and I couldn't get anything from the other side. Whereas in the morning I can get 60-100 mls easily. Also I wonder if an electric pump can get more milk out or not? Because with a manual pump there is milk that I just cannot get out but Maya can. I hope X is feeling better soon!
Well I also had an interesting night. I woke up at 3.30pm and my bbs were so unbelievably sore cos last feed had been at 5pm. So I had to get up and express and I managed to get 120 mls from one bb! It took me till 4am to finally feel OK again and then Maya woke for a feed. :wall: I was worried cos I thought I'd have no milk left for her but I just can't express all my milk so I still had some available. But it took her a lot longer to feed from them - I guess cos it was probably harder to get the milk out. I finally got her back in bed around 5am and then had to do some settling. So was up for about 2 hours. :wall: I've decided that I won't do a full bottle feed before bed time again unless I've gone out somewhere.
I'm also feeling floppier lately around my stomach. I'm not even sure if my muscles are back together. I'm thinkin of talkin to the MCHN tomorrow when I go in for Maya's 3 month appointment.
Anyway I'm off to my mother's to sit in her air con. Have a great day ladies.

Hi Girls Sorry i havent been on much - been busy lately and i have decided to cool down my Internet time and delve into other avenues of relaxation and recreation :)
Tanya - perhaps some yoga or pilates is in order to strengthen you rback and belly muscles a little ? It is hard you go from stretched, to having to carry bub all the time and it is a big adjustable for you belly muscles!! esp your side ones!
Also maya will get some milk. You are prob best to just express off a little overnight is you wake up uncomfy rather than a full bottle. That way after a few nights- to a week your bb's will calm down a little. If you express lots in the middle of th enight, your bb's will keep producing lots inthe middle of the night (esp if maya is feeding srtaight after) because they will be sending singals that maya is EXTRA hungry at 3-4am and increase their supply. I hope that makes sense :)
Presents... ashley's favourite first birthday presents were (as it is not that long ago i still remember lol)... balls! she loves balls to kick and play with, a sandpit/clam shell (loves water).. and you know what i love people to buy, lots of pencils and crayons and paints... cause they always dissapear somewhere!!! she hides them in places but loves to draw and scribble! :) You can never have enough drawing things!! :)
Kat - woohoo on the goats formula. i hope it is the answer you are looking for :) And how is the christening outfit? I saw it arrived!... i am procrastinating on the baptism front as i am dreading the organisation. Everythibng needs to be a HUGE PARTY and do. You cant just have coffee and cake afterwards . You need to FEED people and not just 10 people - everyone.. 100 + it drives me crazy lol.... i will get over it soon i am sure.
Belfie - i hope your little man is feeling better. Ethan has been waking at 4am lately. THis morning though he did a big poo i could smell it lol so i let him get away with that one hahaha! BUt he came and snuggled with me until ashley was up at 7am :)
Amy - hope you are ok in the floods. I actually miss Nth qld weather ... brisbane weather sucks. I miss the smell of the rain coming in, and the cool winds int he evening from the ocean. awwww... i want to move back up there... all in good time... hopefully we will get the opportunity to go back in a year or 2 .. fingers crossed.
Woohoo on the water though. Lately i have been so busy i am lucky to eat before dinnerm and that is when i get a drink .It is bad i know, but i just dont stop lol. i have had theworst migraines because of it, and so i am making changes! lol
I have made 3 covers so far and i have a gorgeous pair of ashleys she wore as a little tike, so i will try to make another pair and send them up . Is that enough? I am not a professional ok? lol so if there are small dodgy stitching i am sorry :)
Georgi - cheeky byron. I find if i look at ethan when he feeds he pulls off, smiles and laughs at me. and i say... you have to drink now no smiling and he smiles more! rofl. oh well those boys! i tell you what! lol
Hollye - are things getting any easier approaching the 3 month mark?
HI to everyone else. i havent forgotten you but i have been typing for ages and should get off :)
*hugs*
-
will upload some piccies of Jack trying his gown on.....
nah we are only having family no friends...we are getting subway platters done, cake drinks and nibblies...15 people max i think....
-
PP~~ whatever you come up with will be fine I am sure!!
Bad day here...I feel like crap and all those great things, really low too, I have had 2 major crys and it is just midday. Poor Bethany is having to be self reliant today. I can provide bottles and clean bums but that is about the extent of it. Was supposed to have a visit from our support BHCN but no can do with the floods, I really needed that visit today. Am considering calling my mental health case worker and saying things suck what can be done?? I might even be forced to find someone to come and help this afternoon. I am NOT good at asking for help, the few people closest to me who I do ask know that if I ask it must be the end of the world or something equal.
Think baby needs a bottle. Great timing for a growth spurt girl.

-
Katone, the Gown is STUNNING!!!!! He looks so sweet. Bethany is jealous, She had to wear mummy's hand me down!! LOL
-
amy_o.....tell Bethany NOT to be jealous..their (jack & bethany's) kids can wear the gown :p
it was a bargain...bought it online...$54 including postage brand new!!! and it is from the states...had a choice of satin or cotton..i opted for the cotton one..
-
oh Katones, the gown is beautiful.
amy_o - sending big hugs your way too - if only we could help out. Definitely ask for help - people LOVE to be asked and looking after yourself is so crucial!!
*TMI warning*
Went back to my obs this morning... turns out my episiotomy hasn't healed all that well - i've got an "extra flap" of skin plus it's just sore sore sore. So he's going to admit me for most of a day and fix it up under general anaesthetic :( so that's a bit of a bummer, but would be nice to have it fixed up. I'm sure DH will forget how to dtd otherwise  I'm booked in for the 3rd of Feb... and he'll call me if they get a cancellation closer.
X seems to be doing a bit better... but got lugged to obs, plus mother's group (really wanted to see a talk re safety)... but it's 39 degrees so the poor little man isn't overly impressed. Hopefully he'll just sleep it off now. I gave him more panadol this morning... I'd swear he has a head/face/ear ache... he's just crying in his sleep every so often and rubbing at his head. He doesn't have a temp, but the panadol does seem to help him be more comfortable. Ooops he's off again... so am i!
-
Belfie..i hope Xander is OK!!!! Bummer about your episiotomy..at least you are going to get it mended...
-
Awww belfie, that is terrible  Lucky you are so proficient with EBM so you can pump heaps before your op, cos I think you have to pump & dump for 12 hours or something after anaesthetic - but don't quote me on it!!! X sounds like ears to me - if he does develop a temp with it - might wanna get it checked. HOwever bubs this young ear infections not common - but not impossible???
katones - Jack looks lovely - Zander will be 7 months so too old for the whole gown thing - but I just don't know - I will wait until closer to see what size he is ......
Well, obviously my boy loves his afternoon sleeps - which bodes well wehn he sstarts to drop sleeps. He catnapped in pram again around 11ish for 15 mins, then back at home in bed around 12.40 - still asleep now at 3.35 ......
-
i know of afew bubs at this age that have had chronic ear infections...2 of them being my own :) ME..if he kept the rubbing up etc..i would have him checked... My daughters first ear infection (6 weeks old) her ear drum perforated/burst (sp??) and since then (turning 10 soon) has ALWAYS had ear problems.
