My username will prolly be belfie if I can have it. I'm just belfie... it's just me IYKWIM. Even DH calls me belfie half the time lol. I'm still waiting to be out somewhere in public and have a BB member overhear me being called belfie lol.
K, stop procrastinating now belfie! Back to it! *cracks whip*

I've finally had it with Maya taking forever to go to sleep! I keep thinking I don't have a problem because there are other babies out there who wake every hour. But once Maya is asleep she can do long stretches. Like last night it took 2 hours to get her to go to sleep but then she slept for 5 1/2 hours in a row. So I keep thinking that's not a problem. But it is a problem cos I've had enough and it's getting worse and worse. :( She was doing so well 4 weeks ago. I could sometimes put her down awake and give her a bit of a pat and she'd go straight to sleep. Other times I'd have to rock her for 5 mins. But now it takes ages to get her to go to sleep. And my DH hasn't helped cos he thinks there's no problem and thinks sleep school will be a waste of time. But he's not the one rocking her to sleep all day & night long!
Anyway I've finally rung around all the sleep schools and put my name down on waiting lists. I hope something comes up soon! :crossfingers:

tanya- sorry to hear abt maya, hope something does come up for u soon! must b stressful for u...

Hi All,
Just another quick one from me, have been out all day again today... Hoping tomorrow will be a better day. Anyway V has been quite unsettled, her nose is still quite congested.
If anyone is doing WW's and you go online there too, I am under csab1972, couldnt get csab. Just so you have a familiar face in there. Hope too see you in there soon Belfie.
Can you believe how fast time is flying, our bubs are growing up soooo fast.

Happy 5 months to the grand-old babies :)
A friend sent me some unsolicited articles on routines for babies from Tizzie Hall "Save Our Sleep". I'm a bit stunned at the moment. Who is this woman and why does she contradict everything that anyone else says? It's like she's just trying to stir and mess with mother's heads. I can't believe some of the things she suggests, like waking up your baby to fit the militant routines and forcing the baby to stay awake for hours, even from a young age. Nuts! Why do friends send this stuff??
Good luck with the Weight Watchers, girls. I hope it all goes well for you. It will be good for you to be doing it as a group and encourage each other.
I've done 2 weeks of yoga without Jude (hubby has been starting work later), it's been great. The yoga teacher has the most soothing voice, I want to hire her to come stand by my bed and lull me to sleep in the middle of the night.
-
Kuraiza - Ohh hun, I couldnt leave my bubs awake for hours and hours just to suit myself. I guess I have been lucky with all of mine that they had their own sleep routines down pat more or less from the moment I had them, like sleep less thru the day with mostly cat naps and sleep all night, whether BFing or FFing. I didnt need to try and change their routines.
I am not sure on what has been so different for me to what others have to deal with, otherwise I would share it. I have found that bubs are more cranky when they are overtired and wont settle as quickly than if they fell asleep when they wanted to. Just MO. There are so many things that us mothers get told to do or try that its hard especially for a new mother to know which direction to take. I really dont know why people send what they send. Just delete it. hehehe. I am glad you are enjoying your Yoga lessons, as for the sleep shame you cant get the Yoga lady to come and lull you to sleep. hehehe. hugs

Hi all.
I'm lurking around and reading posts but haven't got as much time to post at the moment. Maya's been a real PITA this week. Really fighting sleep! I've had a couple of days where she hasn't napped at all and she's been really hard to deal with. I'm hoping it's a wonder week and things will start getting better again real soon!
I've decided to try Tweddle @ home, which is costly and is only for 2 1/2 hours but I don't have to wait - they are available next Wednesday - so I've decided to give it a go. I guess it might be useful and if it's terrible it's only 2 1/2 hours..
-
Tanya - way to go - I think at home is better to cos you are in your own environment - for both you AND Maya - when Riley was little I had a MCHN come to our house for the afternoon (cos hubby was in Iraq, we had just moved here and I had no family support - they got onto me quick smart ;)) it was invaluable - just even being to ask questions when bubs are actually crying and showing what they really do, in a sleep clinic etc they try very hard to create a home environment - but it's not "home" - I hope there are some useful tips there and can't wait to hear your thoughts
Me post lol - yesterday went and saw my boss about return to work (not yet, in about 6 months) but cos I wont be going back to my old job (bit hard to look after 30 staff on 3 days per week) - they are going to support me doing 2 days in the office and 1 day from home so I am stoked!!! Means no child care/afterschool care for the 3rd day - autonomous role so i can span the home day out over a week etc except when we have deadlines etc - it will be challenging cos I am a ppl person so wil be interesting to see how I cope doing project based work like governance/certificate of compliance/terms of reference etc ... but I feel like a huge weight has been lifted - YAY
going to the Canberra show this morning - DH's cousin has a stall there every year so we get free tickets - I am just taking Zander - every year I take the other 2 of course but poor mum actually doesnt get to look around much.... so I am doing drop off and going this mornign for an hour or two - then tomorrow RIley's 6th birthday party at Intencity - then Sunday back to show with the kids ;) -
Zander was great in at work yesterday - I was there for about 2 hours seeing ppl and then went out to lunch with some friends and he laughed, and let everyone hold him - sure he made a few ppl very clucky!
Will check in later - hi to all :)
-
SamiH - woo hoo, that's great about your work! Sounds like it will work a treat! I'm hoping to go back 2.5 days... 2 at work & .5 from home... (well actually I'm hoping for a redundancy package even more lol). Sounds fun & busy otherwise, hope Riley has a great b'day!
Tanya - I think it's great you're doing it, and I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes. I really hope it's useful for you, as I think you've had such a hard time of it, and I wish I could say something more useful... but anyways, I'll just send a big
csab - hey ww buddy :) how's it going? My first day was a total blow-out - I pretty much ate what I usually eat & cut out the junk... thought I'd do ok... but I'd blown half my points by lunchtime! So I've tweaked my morning food and yesterday & today have been MUCH better! I feel fitter & stronger already but that could just be my imagination! Hope it's going well for you... sending you healthy food vibes :)
Kuraiza - goodness that women sounds awful! I wouldn't agree with those articles either! Yoga sounds lovely, I should find some out my way... or I'll just do it on the Wii Fit... dunno if that's quite as good, oh well.
Hollye - how's the little princess? Hope she's not too spewy atm!
Thanks for the 5mo wishes everyone... X had a lovely day. And mummy celebrated by buying overalls and a winter sleeping bag! I'm up to a week of dairy-free and it's been less painful than I expected thank goodness. It's probably good doing WW at the same time, cos then I've got two reasons to not think about having icecream & pizza etc! Think X's skin does seem to be improving, but want to give it a few more weeks to really test it. Oh and for the first time ever, I've actually done my BAS stuff early (yup, amazing!) so I'm going to spend today tackling my bomb-hit house!
Hope you're all having a good friday, roll on the weekend!
-
belfie - well i took Mia off her medication yesterday morning and im happy to report she hasnt spewed for 14 hours! tho she slept for about 11 of them hours lol! ill see what the day brings!
I have her an arrowoot biccie yesterday (teething rusks are crap) and she ate half of it! and it stayed down! shes gonna be on solids quite soon me thinks.

Morning All,
Sami - Congrats about your being able to work at home when you start back at work, even if it for a day. I love being able to work from home for our business yet I get a bit lazy with it most days and end up with this mad rush at the end of each qtr. hehehe. DH is not at all impressed about the mad rush. :) I am glad Z and yourself had a nice day at work yesterday catching up. Out of all of my kids, V seems to have so much more people stop to look at her, its really funny. We were out the other day and had lunch at a RSL club with some of my family and my mums friend as it was her birthday, anyway my mum took V out of her pram when she woke, well mum couldnt get over how all the RSL workers came racing over to check her out. hehehe. I had to let mum know that it happens all the time. One lady once said to me, Who mind you was at least in her 60's, "ohh it makes me feel all clucky" Makes me want one.
Ohh ohhh, a thought came to my head about the future" I hope I dont feel like that when I am in my 60's" :D Ohh and Sami - Thankyou about the RAK, you definately deserve it, everyone here values your input. hugs
Belfie - Hi WW buddy, I did ok yesterday but the day before was well and truly out the window. :D Its funny you say that you feel stronger and fitter, I have been feeling the same, and think that I feel skinnier then I weigh my self and it all hit home, Nahhh, definately all in my head. :) Have you had a chance to look at the recipes on there yet?
Sending lots of healthy food vibes back to you too. I finished out BAS too, but have more things to do with our bookwork unfortunately. But now with both BB and WW, who knows when I will get the time to do it  I am glad X had a lovely 5mo day, how cute. It has gone soooo fast, it only feels like yesterday that we were all talking about our pgcy's.
Tanya - I am so sorry Maya has been fighting sleep. Have you tried giving her a bath with the Bedtime babybath and then giving her a little massage with some moisturiser or baby oil etc. Sorry if you have or already do this. I hope you get some help with Tweedle @ home. Good luck hun. You sound so down. Thinking of you and sending lots of hugs and baby sleep vibes your way. Actually back on the Australia Day long weekend, we went away with some friends, and her little bubba boy would sleep more thru the day than at night and once awake at night thats it, anyway V must have had a good talking too with him as while he was with us on the whole trip he was this perfect sleeper and if woke up went straight back to sleep no worries, and ever since that weekend he is sleeping the whole night too. Maybe I should get V to have a talk to her. Another idea, does Maya have a sheepskin, V loves hers, she gets so comfy on it. Also she loves her little blanket toys, she loves to snuggle into them. She also loves holding the muslin wraps. Another item that I find V loves and falls asleep on all the time, and at the moment has fallen asleep on it again is a soft fluffy teddy bear mat that you get from the baby shops, they come in different types of animals. They are just so great. V gets soooo comfy on that, that as soon as I put her down on it she plays a little bit with her toys next thing I look down and she is asleep. Its funny how quickly she nods off on it. If I think of any more ideas I will let you know. Hugs.
Ohh and I have to say Happy 5 months little bubba's, it has gone so fast.
Teru - Thankyou for your thoughts re Mum. She seems to be feeling better atm. hugs
I hope everyone else is ok.
