That counts and I'm still beating you because earlier February last year I was only 5 weeks pregnant when I last looked at my hair. I guess I'm growing my hair ...:
MY HAIR hasn't had attention since I was 16 weeks pregnant.... There, I am officially the most un womanly person here... Though I did have a treatment about 3 weeks ago, does that count?

well...
my boy slept in his own room last night...he was asleep by 8.15pm...woke for his dummy at 4.30am..went back to sleep... i woke him at 7.10am to feed him (i should have just let him sleep..but i like routine!!!) and he didn't drink all of his bottle...had some more bottle at 9.30ish..and is still awake..he isn't sleepy yet/grizzly..so he is playing with his brother & sister happily in the lounge...
Hubby says he was awake all night looking at the lights on the moniotr...BIG LOAD OF BS!!!! he was snoring all night!!!!

Ah I was told it was just a low dosage of iron that wouldn't cause constipation. Jude poops 3 times a day so it clearly hasn't effected him.:

I'd love to cut my hair off (I hate my hair long) but I need to be able to tie it up because Jude pulls my hair any chance he can get. You're lucky if your babies don't pull your hair and you can maintain a nice coif!
I am thinking of dying my hair (supermarket dye job, but I have faith in my skills as a home hair-dyer), but then there's the whole maintenance aspect I am dreading.
Ugh, voting today. Choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich.
Ahhhh, what an awful night I had. BJ decided to wake at 1.30am & had a whinge for about 30 mins. Finally he fell back to sleep, then woke again at 2.30am. This time, he whinged for 30 mins, then decided it was play time. I closed his bedroom door & left him there to play for another 30mins before he fell asleep. I obviously can't sleep knowing he's awake. Then he woke crying at 5am. So I fed him & he went straight back to sleep though I was wide awake wasn't I. I just wish he would sleep till 6am.
KATONES Glad to hear it's working out having Jack in his own room. Sleeping for 10 hours sounds great to me

Katones - how did last night go? lol on hubby snoring and saying he was awake. When I poke my DH and say you were snoring he says but I wasn't asleep. yeah right!
as for the whole cereal/iron/possible constipation thing... hm think I'll try X very cautiously! DH's back has gone out again yesterday morning, so drove him to the fixer upper guy, turns out it's his hips not back - arrrgh. So I'm on duty for everything now and he can't lift anything for the moment. Hope he comes good soon - at least we've timed it well, I'm fighting fit so can do everything... just makes things more busy! Just put off friends for lunch today - there's no food in the house cos DH was meant to shop yesterday which of course didn't happen!

well we went to the footy last night..left Jack with MIL (from hell!!) and Jack was good as usual...was asleep by 8pm...we got home at about 10 picked him up..he was awake fro about 15/20mins..so i gave him another 100mls..he drank and went back off to sleep...slept through til about 8.10am this morning..which was devine!!!! gave him a feed then...at about 9.30am he had a power nap...wanted a drink at 10ish...drank 150mls..and is still playing now...he will get the grizzles soon..so off to sleep he will go...
am so happy with the sleeping bit now.. and DH just said to me...hes fine in there..and hes not to far away!!! i felt like saying told you so!!!!
Katones: You should tell him "told you so" serves him right for questioning a mother! ;)
Georgi: Rough night, eh? I keep thinking that once our children start getting colds and flus we'll be having really bad nights, not a nice thought, probably not what you need to hear... hmmm.
Jude's having a rough day. He's usually a joyous little bundle of smiles and giggles who goes to sleep on his own when I lie him down in his cot, but today he's crying and cranky. Poor little guy. I wish I knew what was wrong.
What does an allergic reaction to food look like? Jude has little bumps all around his eyes and forehead that keep coming and going. I've been wondering for a long time if he's allergic to his formula. I spose I should talk to a GP. I'm soooo lax about seeing doctors and I'm soooo over doctors after my first couple of months after Jude was born when the only people I socialised with were doctors, I felt like a medical lab rat!
My mum took me shopping the other day. I think she felt sorry for me after I cried on the phone to her and told her how bad I felt after mothers group when everyone is talking about the things they buy for their babies and I can't afford anything, so she bought him a stack of gorgeous bebe clothes for winter and cot sheets and blanket, so now he sleeps in style instead of sleeping on the cruddy sheet that came with his cot when we bought it on Ebay. Mum also bought me some boots because I feel so hideous and daggy with a full wardrobe of clothes that don't fit me. Ahhh my boots, saving grace for my sanity!
Well.. I've not had a good weekend. Normally during the weekends I get help, support and time off. But my poor DH has been so sick. :( So I've been doing everything on my own plus looking after him. He very rarely gets sick and when he does he still runs around and does stuff. So I knew he was pretty sick when he was spending time on the couch all weekend. And here's some TMI my poor DH was so ill he didn't make it to the bathroom in time and then passed out into his own vomit. :( I didn't even know it had happened till much later cos he had cleaned up a lot of it on his own. But there was still lots of washing and mopping up to do by me.
Re hairdressers: I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who hasn't been for a long time. :)
Anyway, gotta go.. lots more to do. I will try and pop back on later.
Hi all, I've been busy, busy, busy, for some reason I've just had no time to post.
Pyschic went well on Monday and yes Georgi she did see another bub, but not for at least two years.
Have been feeling really exhausted in the last few weeks, so I finally went to the Drs and he has taken blood to see how my iron levels are and a FBC and a few other things as well so hopefully will have the results tomorrow. Just been doing house work today notheing special. Julian is going well, no teeth yet and no solids yet either, but he's getting close to wanting them as he's starting to watch everything that goes in my mouth and mimicking me chewing.

Well Zander has turned into a cat napper and I can't do much about it because I can't be consistent at the moment as every day we have things on - otherwise I would do a bit of settling/comforting for the long haul - but the problem is gets to this time of day and I have just put him to bed and he will keep waking needing a pat or cuddle cos he is so overtired ...... gotta be something! However, he has been sleeping through until 6 after that - so Georgi I will trade you some sleep thrus for a couple of good day sleeps - not greedy, just one good 2 hours stint would be fine and then I wouldnt mind a couple of naps. :lol:
Been really busy too so we've all been travelling from pillar to post and back again.
Tried some pear this morning - typical "what the" face - so didnt pursue, but gave him some swt potato instead when we were having dinner tonight and he was - yeah, I remember this, ok - had about 2 tspns so I was happy with that.
Zander has had some discharge from his eyes the last couple of days - but not really red so I didnt think it was conjunctivitis - but it is possible and am getting it checked by the doc tomorrow just to be on the safe side. I realised apart from his 6wk check, he hasnt been to the doctors yet - thats pretty good for a bub!
Tanya - make sure you dont catch it!!! I hope your hubby is feeling better already.
kuraiza - sounds like they are all going through the grizzles at the moment, who knows? Teeth, food, cold, sick - all guesswork. And I did get my hair all cut off LOL, well the shortest for me for many years - i am sure they will still find a way to get their fingers into it :)
kat - i hope you can start to sleep a bit better now too with Jack in the next room without hearing is every little noise - they can make a lot!
belfie - i cant believe our boys will be 6 months this week, and 6 months of b/f too :clap::dance::clap: we might have a half birthday cake - any excuse :lol:
Georgi - ugh, i hate nights like that - If I have fed and he is in bed and just being noisy - i make it DH's turn - cos usually it is after 4am and I figure it is better if I get some sleep driving the kids around - DH can go to work tired - he will easily catch up .... tehehehehe.
Gotta go and get the othe rkids to bed now too fingers crossed

Ok made it back. Happily my DH seems to be doing a lot better now. Just in time for going back to work!
kuraiza - I'm not against giving rice cereal and I'm not worried about it causing constipation. In fact I have some rice cereal in my cupboard JIC . But from the research I've done I don't think it's necessary to give rice cereal. They don't need the added iron if you feed them iron rich foods at the right time. And it sounds like rice cereal is bland and specially made so that it will taste like EBM or formula to get them to have some solids. Whereas I am hoping to introduce her to a variety of tastes when she's ready for them and she can survive on BM or formula alone until then. But who knows.. I might end up trying rice cereal if she just doesn't want a bar of anything else. But at the same time I guess that's my point.. that if she doesn't want other foods then maybe she's not really ready for them. Anyway, just my opinion.
belfie - Oh I wish DH would take a sickie. I've been trying to convince him to take one tomorrow cos he (and I) missed out on the weekend. But he's stressed out and very busy at work so he doesn't feel like he can afford to take time off. In fact he was given a pay cut this year, which is supposed to be in exchange for a day off a fortnight but he never takes the day off cos his work load went up heaps! :wall: Sounds like you've also had a busy weekend taking caring of a husband + baby!

SAMI Looks like Z will have a good day today. They must've swapped cause BJ slept through. It is annoying when they cat nap. BJ went through that stage, that's another reason why I implemented this routine. The 2 hours at lunch gives me loads of time to do stuff, or relax

BELFIE I thought i'd nap until I realised I had a baby shower to go to. I ended up making it through the day fine, but did get very tired in the evening
Well we did have a better night, thankfully. BJ went to bed at 6.30pm & slept solid till 5.30am (I dream fed him at 9.30). He just quietly played in his cot until 6am. But he seems real grumpy this morning. He didn't want much of a feed, only 4mins, so I topped him up with EBM from a sippy cup, then he wasn't real keen on having his rice cereal, which is unusual. I hope this doesn't continue through the rest of the day!
Went to a baby shower yesterday. It was fun. She had a 3d scan (window to the womb) there, and found out the sex... At 31 weeks. We all left the room while she found out so we still don't know. Strange huh, finding out so late.
Tanya: Oh I see. I never thought of rice cereal just as a bland food to feed Jude. I consider rice cereal as a staple because grains/rice/cereal are the base of the food pyramid and are the most important part of a healthy diet. I mix rice cereal with fruits and vegetables so I know Jude's getting a good balanced diet. He's eating his pumpkin well now and he had some pear this morning and wolfed it down. Avocado for lunch when he wakes up, yum!
Georgi: Your friend has a 3d scan at her house??????

Georgi - Glad to here BJ slept better for you. My DH just told me that last night Maya was awake at 5am and then quietened down again. But I didn't hear her at all. :o I slept till at 8am and heard her then. I now have no idea if she was crying for a while before then or woke at another time?! But I got a good night's sleep.
kuraiza - The rice cereal isn't just rice. It has lots of other added things. I can't find any with just iron added. That's what I have a problem with all the unnecessary additives liked vitamins and minerals. I am very happy for her to have rice, which I agree is part of a balanced diet. But I want her to get her vitamins and minerals from fruits and veges, not from added vitamins. I did find one brand with only iron added at a local organic store but it costs $12 for a tiny packet!
I just got back from MG and found out there that one of the woman's husbands left her and their baby. :( How horrible is that. Apparently he said he couldn't handle life with a baby.
My DH is doing a lot better and went back to work today.
Maya went to sleep by herself this morning. I was so shocked! Normally I have to do patting and then give her a dummy. But she fell off to sleep all on her own. :)
Question: Just wondering who uses a dummy for sleeps/naps? And do you give a dummy as soon as you put your babies in their cots?
Hmm.. well I've gone from Maya settling herself this morning to needing my help this afternoon.. So gotta go settle her.
well we had the night from hell last night!!!!
Jack decided he did NOT want to sleep...and woke EVERY hour!!!! DH only lasted til 4am...then went into one of the spare beds...me i lost it and ended up yelling at Jack to bloody-well go to sleep...feel bad for doing it...
He drank at 7am...then decided he was going to stay awake and play..ummm me thinks NOT jack..so i put him in his cot and let him cry..i did NOT care!!! he went to sleep after crying for abit...than had a bottle at 10ish...stayed awake til after 12 went to sleep...for abit woke screaming so i picked him up..and off to sleep he went again...in the pram..and slept til 3.30pm :D woke had a feed and is now in watching Dora quietly...
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Jack..sleep tonight!!!!

I just checked the ingredients on Farex and there are only 5 ingredients, including added vitamin C and sunflower oil which surprises me, why would they add oil?? Maybe the oil is to counteract the constipating effects of iron. :dunno:
Katones: Poor mum and poor Jack. Can I make a suggestion with only the best of intentions: If you have a night like that again try putting Jack in bed with you and set him up between your pillows (pull your pillows apart to make room). When we went up to Brisbane recently Jude flat-out refused to sleep in the travel cot so after hours of crying we put him in the bed with us and he slept much better and when he did stir (which he did a number of times) we were able to pop his dummy back in and give him a pat before he woke fully up. It wasn't a perfect night of sleep by any means but it was better than no sleep at all.
Well I am gunna post that may deter anyone from 3 kids lol
ARGHGHGHGHGHGGGGHHH - the afternoons i dont have the time to put into settling Zander for a proper sleep/nap - if he's not asleep in 10 mins and DH away and I have to do readers and dinner - I would rather he be on my knee with his dummy have a whinge than screaming in his bed. Needless to say he has been awake since 3pm and he is in bed now, but I reckon he will wake around 8 for a feed - fine as long as he goes back down.
I know all the things I "should" be doing according to MCHN and sleep clinics etc - but I just find all the comfort crying exhausting and time consuming - i know that you need to stick it out for a week to break any habits etc - but I cant be bothered lol so I am my own worst enemy. However, cos we are going to be away camping and then staying with family in Ballarat, I am not wanting to do anything now cos I dont want to stress him out by changing it again on him etc ... this is just a whinge - no replies needed lol ;) Its therapy just typing it out :rofl: Sowhilst he is sleeping through at night time still, I just need to take a few deep breaths during the day and accept nothing much gets done!!!
I was eating a banana today and let him have a suck on the other end, and he got very excited - so I think he will like banana lol. However I am trying porridge tomorrow so he can start having brekky with the other kids.
Well, that was a big me post - and have to go and hang the washing on the line - I do it at evening time now cos then I dont worry about when I will get it out in the morning - so glad the weather is still noice!
