Nikki - Congrats on the arrival of Harry! How exciting...I bet the family is just rapped over little Harry.
Kristie - I did get to check out the target catalogues I delivered this week, and I saw your little spunk in the pages of it. They did a fantastic job on the photo's for it. What a cutie!
Tracey - Benjamin only likes the 50c cones and the fries. I've learnt that icecream and car seats are not a good combination.
:hello: Kristy and Kell!
Cindy - I hope you are feeling a little better?
I ended up getting my painful tooth pulled today. My face is swollen from them pulling it and it is rather sore, but I'd rather this pain then the pain I was getting.
Benjamin has been chucking the most awful tantrums lately because he can't always have his way. He's also learnt that if he moves a chair or his bike next to things he can climb up and get to things he's not meant to have. I'm so worried he's going to have a nasty fall or something.:frown: He had his finger slammed in a sliding screen door yesterday and his nail is a nice shade of purple today. Thankfully my friend had a packet of frozen beans in the freezer to ease the pain.

Hi Melissa - Poor you with your tooth pulled! I hope it feels better soon and the swelling goes down...
And poor Benjamin with his finger - Geez you two are in the wars!
Louis got his first graze on his knee the other day - I sat him up on the bench to wipe it with a wet tissue and expected him to cry and I was being so gentle that he started giggling instead! It must have ticked! hehe. Better than him screaming though!
Thanks - I wish I could get a copy of the actual photos but I very much doubt they would do that..
What a clever boy to push things around so can climb!!
Dh has been in a fowl mood ever since he came home last night...just wants to play computer games and not do anything - I'm so cross with him....He's just had 3 days with no responsibility playing around with cars and fishing and he comes home and is a nightmare....I even woke him up the best way possible this morning...wish I didn't now...He also informs me he's going out to play computer games tomorrow night as well...I can't understand how he can go from being soooo perfect and caring to a complete butthole in a few days.....GRR! (Sorry for the vent...)
-
Oh wow! You have all known each other for ages then! How neat that some of you can catch up offline too :)
Congratulations Nikki and family!
-
Melissa, Hope your mouth is feeling a lot better and that the swelling has started to recede. Poor you! Benjamin's tantrums sound familiar. It's a frustrating phase isn't it! Hope all our bubbas pass through the toddler tantrum phase quickly. Hope B's finger is not to sore. BTW, I love the pic of him driving in your ticker. He looks very grown up!
Kristie, Louis sounds adorable giggling while you cleaned up his knee. What a brave little munchkin. Sorry to hear your DH has been frustrating you. Vent away! Like you, most of the time my DH is an angel but every now and then I feel like he's the 2nd child in the house!
Ros, Thanks for answering some of my questions. xx It sounds like a nice range of ages of children you have. Will you have two of your children off to school this year? It is very cute to hear magpie is one of Patrick's fav words. That's a pretty tough word! Gordon/Hornsby are lovely parts of Sydney. Lucky you! We actually live sort of close-ish to you (in Cammeray which is near Crows Nest, Neutral Bay). Tis probably about 20mins drive away from Gordon. Hope you are settling back in to Oz nicely. Must be a huge change. How funny that you have met another Fergus. I've been coming across a lot of adult Fergus's lately to. So far all have been born in either Scotland or Ireland and are in Australia for some reason. It's funny how something seems unusual one day and then suddenly it seems like everywhere you turn that thing pops up. He ha.
Tracey, Sorry to hear AF arrived. Fingers crossed for next month.
Cindy, Your day at the zoo sounds fun. Hope you took LOTS of pics. LOL at Tori's roaring at the animals. How are you and your DH going with the name selection process?
Hope Nikki and baby Harry are enjoying getting to know each other.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all happy and well. :hello:
I had to take Fergus for another eye test with an opthalmic surgeon yesterday. This is fairly routine follow up for babies with F's background. Yippee he passed with flying colours and we've been given the ok not to return for retesting for another few months. Poor lil F was not a happy camper during the test. I think the eye drops did something to his vision as he seemed to really really freak out. He had the biggest full body tantrum of his life and actually bit my finger so hard that it bled in his efforts to make me loosen my grip on him so he could run away from the surgeon!!!! I was not happy with that. I think he's lost his confidence with medical practitioners in recent weeks as he had some pretty horrible experiences while in hospital in November/December. Agghhhh poor little tike. But even so, that doesn't excuse him from biting me. I'm so tired these days from the overnight feeding machine dramas that things like F's tantrums seem so much harder to placate. Motherhood has been one of the biggest lessons in patience I think I've ever had!
DH and I are discussing having a nurse/nanny to come in one day a week to care for Fergus while I catch up on sleep and/or get things done. Am going to make some enquiries today about cost/availability etc. My poor DH only seems to get to see the grumpy me each day. He leaves for work at about 6.15am and usually doesn't get home before 7.30-8pm. So this means he either sees my tired and grumpy in the morning from a bad night's sleep or tired and grumpy in the evening from a long day racing F to medical appointments/dealing with his tube feeding regime etc without catch up sleep. Aghhhh will have to try to make more of an effort with my DH as it seems that I don't have enough energy left over for him at the moment. Poor boy. Hopefully having a break from Fergus's care with the help of a nurse/nanny will make all the difference. Enough grumbling! Hope you all have a great day.
Edited to add, F has just pulled out his nasogastric tube so we're off to hospital to spend a "fun" time having a new one passed. Blahhhh! I wish he could understand how much more distressing it is for him to have a new tube passed than it is to just put up with the old one being taped to his face!
-
Kirsty - Poor you and fergus, the nanny sounds like a great idea!! hopefully you will be able to get some help, sounds like it will ease the pressure on you and DH lol...
Kristie- i saw Louis in the catalogue too, soo cute I pointed him out to dh...
Hi to everyone else, we are having the tantrums as well which are fun arent they? lol
-
Kristy - It's been an up hill battle for you guys from the beginning. I think fergus is probably had his dose of doctors for the moment and probably more than anyone of us would see in a life time...Don't give up though! I hope your finger is ok? It's nice to see fergus on your ticker :D
Kell - A friend of mine says to try chucking a tantrum back at them. They apparently realise how silly they've been, but it may take a few shots. Not sure how effective it would be? Benjamin won't even listen to us sometimes...or should I say, most of the time.
I'm pretty peaved at the moment. I went for a job interview earlier this week, the day I was to ring back to find out if I got in, my old work offered me a job to start next Tuesday. I accepted the position at my old job and turned down the medical and induction at the possible new job. I went for another medical for my old job yesterday. Then I got this email today that was sent this morning saying that they've decided to give my position to someone else. I was ropable! They didn't bother ringing me about it, just a short email saying they'd keep my resume and job application on file. I gave him a call and I got his voice mail, so I hung up and sent back a brief email telling that I've now got to reapply at the other place, and basically thanks for nothing. I now have to wait out til Monday to see if the other company is still interested. This is not a good start to the weekend. Dh has to work tomorrow, so that's put a damper on things here too. Oh well, back to the old drawing board...

Hi!
We've had a HUGE day!! We headed down to ikea in richmond to buy a computer desk and also some storage things for Dylan. I don't know if any of you have been there but it's so weird - you have to write down what you want and you end up in the warehouse and have to find it!
Then we headed to the Melb zoo! It was a bit drizzly when we got there but cleared up. It was just sooo humid though - we were all very hot and bothered. It was so much fun though - Louis loved the tigers, lions and bears the most I think. Oh and the butterflies!
It was so exhausting walking around all day though! Oh yeah - and he looovvved the monkeys!! I was so suprised he did so well with basically no sleep today! He had a bit of a run around there but he runs off so quickly that it's too hard to chase after him! He's got sooo much energy!!
We bought him a little toy tiger and a zoo book to take home and remember! hehe.
I think I'll be having an early night tonight though! hehe
Kirsty - Yeah..he was a bit better today - I just hate being niggly with each other...I much prefer it when we're just cruising along. Actually it was interesting today as he said that his parents had been arguing and niggling at each other the whole time he was up there so I wonder if it's rubbed of on to him????
Oh poor Fergus with his trips to the dr - I would be over it to by now if I was him. It must be so stressful and draining on you too though Kirsty. I think it sounds like a fantastic idea to get someone in once a week to give you a break!! It may even enable you and dh to have some alone time?? I can't imagine being home alone all those hours every day with all that you have to do and so little sleep and being happy and chirpy by the time dh gets home. Please don't be too hard on yourself - you're doing the best you can do!!
Poor Fergus with his feeding tube - I hope you didn't have to spend all day in the hospital!!!
Gorgeous piccy by the way!!
Melissa - Oh no!! What a pain!! That would be so annoying...I so hope you get the original job you applied for! Try not to stress too much over the weekend....Good Luck!
-
Krisite I finaly got my target catalogue so I am rapted. I have showed everyone (like I am the proud mum :) ) Maybe the husband thing is going around. I am glad things got sorted out though
Melissa sorry about the job, thats just so annoying. I hope you can reapply for the other job.
Kirstie I hope getting the new tube was ok. Poor Fergus I guess he doesnt understand the impacts of pulling it out yet.
Cindy glad you had a great time at the zoo. Hope you are resting up well.
Kerrie and Linda hope you are both well.
Nikki I will see you and Harry tomorrow CANT WAIT hope Chantelle is feeling better and DH is coping ok.
Well today was so boring at work very quiet. I was so glad to get home. We had fish and chips for tea, bad for the health kick but oh well Jordan flaked it at 7.30 so that was nice. Hopefully he will sleep in for DH tomorrow morning.
I made a plate for Nikki thursday and baked it tonight. I didnt hear the timer go off so I burnt the blue on it and it has turned a grey colour. I was so upset that I cried over it (what a looser am I?) I will still give it to her, its the thought and its a commeritive plate for Harry's birth.
Well DH has gone out tonight, I had my GF over but she has gone home. She is 24 weeks preg so a little tired which is understandable.
Take care everyone chat tomorrow after I see Nikki and the family
-
Kirsty, yeah, when you said you lived on the lower north shore, I figured we must be somewhat close. The Fergus I met last week I believe was Australian.. I didn't detect any other accent, although I didn't ask him where he was born either ;)
I am sorry your Fergus is having such a tough run with the doctors visits and all.. the eye test sounds traumatic! What was it exactly they were testing? Sorry I don't know his complete background..
Patrick has to see a pediatric opthamologist... nothing serious but he has an immature eye duct - I forget the medical term. It just means that it's constantly draining yellow eye puss stuff, like tears, but thicker like sleep.. sorry hard to explain. Anyway, it LOOKS like he has an infection so people get worried when they see it but it's not conjunctivitis or anything... anyway, it hasn't ever cleared up so he will probably need to have a procedure to open it up.
Kristie, I also received my target catalogue in the mail! That was the most exciting target catalogue I've ever received! Louis looks great! The zoo sounds like fun too!
-
Kirsty - getting a nurse in sounds like a great idea if its possible. I havea friend with a daughter with the tube too, she is 6 though and because she pulled it out so often the doctors ended up showing them how to do it! You must be so work out, you have had a hard past nearly 2 years!
On the name process i think we came up witha winner last night - Andrea! Andy for short. We both like it which is a change. There is always time to change our minds though.
On the biting - tori has tried that a few times too and boy is it not fun! Not idea how to get around it though, just seems to be a stage they go through.
Kristie - sorry to hear DH is being such a DH! I hope for your sake it doesnt last long. What do you do when he is out paying computer games? I hate being home alone just for the boredom factor! Thanks for the offer to have tori too, Are you getting worn out at the moment or is it just tori that doenst stop moving?
When did you want to go out and see nikki? Should we do it as our little group do you think or separately? I dont mind either way! We should catch up fora coffee or something this week either way! Let the kids run around together! Let me know when you are free. I am free this week apart from wednesday.
HOws your tummy going? I am getting massive now. I somehow managed to pull a muscle yesturdaywhich is no fun at all.
I had louis delivered to my house yesturday! I have shown anyone who will look!!!
Melissa - that sucks what your old work did! Not fair at all! Have you heard back from the other people? what was the other job for?
Tracey you dag crying about the plate! It sounds great though! Where di you get that idea from?
Sorry, better go the princess stinks and i can not ignore it any longer!
-
Hi!!
Well I got a reasonably early night in - managed to keep my eyes open until about 10.30 and then zonked it. I woke every couple of hours though until dh got home (about 4am!!!) GRR. So I kind of feel tired today still. Louis slept in until 8.30am though so that was good! I've just been chilling out but really need to go and do some food shopping....
Trace - What a nice gesture! I'm sure it looks great! I can totally understand you getting upset over it- I"m sure I would have too after going to all that effort!! Ooh can't wait to hear how Nikki & Harry are going! Let us know as soon as you've been!!
Ros - Poor little Patrick with his eye - that must be annoying for him (or you! hehe) Hope it can get fixed up soon!
Cindy - Ooh I love Andy!!! Sounds great!! What do I do when dh is out? Hmmm BB!!! hehehe. Potter around - read some mags. Waste time. I don't let him go out now until Louis is in bed so at least I can chill out while he's out iykwim? Yeah - I get pretty tired but somehow manage to keep going. Not working helps! He's being a a terror this morning which I'm not happy about. I think after such a big day tomorrow he's just woken up in a bad mood. Funny thing was he wasn't hitting or throwing while dh was away and now he is again! Hmmm not sure what to make of that...
I suppose we're better of making on Tuesday, then she should be settled at home?? I'm not sure what she'd prefer...I suppose it gets us all over and done with at once if we go together though! We can all chip in and do whatever needs to get done around the house or something...
Yeah, we definitely should catch up this week for a chat - it's been ages!! I'm free pretty much anytime! hehe.
Tummy's growing! Although I'm grateful it's really slowed down over the last couple of weeks...I really don't want to get too much bigger than I am now (although I know it's inevitable! hehe) I get my stitches when I'm walking, a bit of heartburn every now and then and a bit of sciatic nerve pinching sometimes...all the norm p/g complaints! hehe but I'm cruising a long quite well! Bubbas head is already down and ready to go so I get some good bumps on my cervix/bladder sometimes...Sorry to hear you pulled a muscle - that doesn't sound too good! Hope it doesn't give you too much trouble!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
-
Well got home from work and DH has cleaned the house which is nice. Jordan is bed so will wait for him to wake and then we are off to see Nikki and Harry
I will ask her whether she wants us all to visit together or seperately
Cindy I love the name Andrea, glad you were able to both aggree on a name. Tori sounds like she is keeping you on your toes. I hope she lets you rest a little this weekend
Krisite yeah on another sleep in. We had one here too, 7.30ish. I was rapted. I am a little silly crying over the plate but I am so teary all the time. I am a wreck, you would think I was pregnant :)
Ros I hope that Patricks eye gets better.
take care and I will come back with all the news from the hospital
-
Harry is gorgeous
Well I am back from the hospital and all I can say is
AWWWWWW, Harry is just gorgeous and Nikki is doing wonderful. She looks great and was out of bed and moving around, she really is a supermum.
I forgot how tiny newborns are (not that Jordan was as small as Harry) and I was nervous about picking him up but soon got the hang of it.
Harry has really big feet and hands but the rest of him is really tiny. He really is just a beautiful bundle of joy.
Once again Congrats Nikki and Grant he is a great addition to the family.
Krisite and CIndy, Nikki said she would love to have all of us over on thursday she is home on monday. I thought we could all bring over some sort of food/drink for lunch and then help Nikki out with whatever else needs doing around the house. About 11ish like usual would be a good time so maybe we could all arrange something different to bring for lunch.
Take care everyone chat soon. Hey, gotta love all this rain we are having today. My grass is loving it
-
Oooh I'm so glad to hear she's going well and I can't wait to meet Harry! How exciting!! She must have been so glad that you could visit today!
Next Thursday sounds fantastic and a great idea to all bring some lunch!
I agree with the rain!! I'm just not keen on the humidity!! (yeah I know all I do is complain - hehehe)
-
Well I dont know what got into Jordan at 4am this morning but he was bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready to start the day even though I wasnt. I tried getting him back to sleep and all he did was cry so in the end we both sat up and watched tele till 5.30am when he got tired again and went back to sleep. He then slept in till 9.30 so that was great, I got to catch up on some ZZ's.
Kristie and Cindy glad you got the photo of Harry. He is just gorgeous.
Cindy sorry you cant make it thursday but I am sure Nikki will love the extra visit on another day.
Krisite We can organise what to bring sometime next week. I am not keen on the humidity either, so its not you complaining :)
Linda hope you are feeling well and Em is doing well. It feels like ages since you popped in.
Kel Any progress on Will's walking? We are still only moving along the furniture and when you hold his hands.
Melissa What is Benjamin up to?
Kerrie, hope the girls are well and you are feeling well also.
Well today I have cleaned up the house again, it feels like a never ending job. Floors are mopped so atleast Jordan wont get so dirty after crawling around the place. Its a little embarassing at times how dirty he gets. I didnt realise how dirty the floor got until he started crawling. :)
Well I have decided to join a playgroup this year as Jordan is getting more mobile and he enjoys playing with other kids. I have 2 in my suburb to ring tomorrow and see what days they run and how much. I really want to do more with Jordan this year as I think he must get bored at home all day with his mum or grandmas. A little kid interaction will be great.
Jamie is gong to take over swimming lessons this year as he really enjoyed the few times he went and I think it will be good for them to have something to do on their day together. I am a little upset to give it up as I loved the ladies in my class but thats ok, thats partly why we are going a playgroup aswell.
Well thats enough about nothing I guess, I dont want you all falling asleep on me :)
Take care XX
-
Hi!
Not much happening for us at the moment either! Louis has just gone down for a sleep for the arvo and dh has headed off to do a few things to get ready to go back to work tomorrow! We had a nice night last night watching a dvd and I made a really yummy dessert. (something I don't very often do!)
My brother and his gf dropped in today. They've moved her due date forward from her scan so she's due nearly a week earlier now!! They've been out looking at all the things to buy - so very excited I think!
Louis has been good..he's so funny! He's obsessed with sitting down on anything at the moment and saying "chair" and he says chair when he wants us to read a book as well. He would read books all day long I think! Finally the other day I showed him how to blow kisses so we're getting lots of those at the moment as well.
Trace - I showed Louis the photo of little Harry and now he's says Harry! hehe. What a bugger you were up so early! At least you got to go back to sleep after. Yep, we can sort out lunch when Nikki jumps back on - see what she feels like! What a pity Cindy can't make it!
You sound good cleaning the house again! I'm lucky to get it vaccuumed/mopped once a week if that! hehehe. I just figure I'm building Louis' immune system - hehe!
Playgroup sounds good! I tried one out late last year but I didn't get into it too much...probably because I do a lot of the stuff at home iykwim? Although I know he probably should interact more with kids but he's always pretty good when he's around other littlies. I've just decided to plan my week a bit more instead - one day at the park, one day do a bit of painting/craft, one day do something else....I also have mothers group every f/n locally and Louis has swimming lessons. I suppose also with a new bubba arriving in April I figure there's not much point getting too involved in extra stuff. I also want to make it to the library for story time since he loves books so much...
We'll see how much of this I actually get done in a week but without work I should be able to manage most of it....and at least without it being structured I can fit it in whenever I can.
Dh will be doing swimming lessons with Louis as well in from term 2. Probably on a weekday afternoon....
I would never fall asleep! You know what I'm like! It's good just to chat sometimes....
-
Sorry i cant make it Thursday girls! I have to work in the am till about 1ish. I'm free on friday though.
I will just have to go see nikki and harry another day by the sounds of it.
I am so tired today, i have no idea why either! I cant get enough sleep at the moment.
you girls have got me on the idea of playgroup now, might be a good way of meeting some new people out rowville way too! I got her booked into swimming for next term but i think my mum might do the classes the following term when bub comes along...
How do you find out about playgroups? I suppose i will google and see what comes up!
Best be off and get tori some food, she is a grump today, just like her mother!
Kristie - i went to a play house saturday at forest hill shopping centre and it was fantastic, tori had a great time! did you want to catch up tuesday there ifyou are free? it was $5.
Tracey - you poor thing being so emotional at the moment! Are you really sure you arent pregnant? have you actually done a test? my mum got her periods the whole way through her pregnancy with me!
-
Hi!
Cindy - Maybe we could wait when Nikki gets online tomorrow - maybe we could all head over on Friday instead??? Ooh the playhouse sounds like a good idea! Give me the address and a time and we can meet you there for an hour or two!
Better start dinner...
