kazzy we saw the fires in anakie this afternnon also,we drove to melton to have a swimm at a friends place and could see that there was a huge fire about half hour away and then we saw it on the news.it looks preety big and they did say they held fears for the residents there, the cool change hit about and hour ago but there is no rain in site yet, thinking of you and sending all my best wishes to the firies and you.

Hi All,
just a quick update. We stayed at home last night - we seem safe from the fire at the minute. The cool change turned the wind around and it fortunately moved away from us, but headed for Balliang and Bacchus Marsh instead. The latest radio report says that they have it 'contained' in most areas, so hear hoping that it doesn't effect any more towns. Lots of houses lost in Anakie I have heard. I think the CFA are just hoping they can get it under control before the hot weather later this week.
Thanks for the thoughts too!! Will keep the car in the ready just incase.
Nikki - are your friends in Melton in the path?? Get them to check as the perimetre of the fire is about 30 kilometres.
Talk soon
Kazzy

Kazzy - I can remember here a few summers back when we had bush fires coming up the range. It was very hard to breathe with all the smoke. I hope the smoke isn't too bad for you.
Have any of you ladies experienced the power outages that we've been hearing on the news? We are being told people are losing their food in their fridges and freezers because they can't keep it cold. I hope no one here is affected [-o<
Bonnie - I so know about teeth at the moment. We can see them in Benjamin's gums. He has 4 on the bottom and his 2 front teeth up top. He's chewing on just about everything too...including my nipple...OUCH!
Keep out of the heat ladies! Stay cool!
Melissa
-
Kazzy - I am glad to see that you are safe, yesterday was a scorcher. We were putting external blinds up in the heat of the day......STUPID US but it helped keep the house cooler once they were up.
Nikki - the swim must have been great. the heat was unbearable at times.
Bonnie and Melissa - Yeah on the teeth. I hope that bubs handle it ok. I am not looking forward to teething as Jordan has a real temper and I know he will be unbearable when it happens.
Does anyone elses bubs get constipated at times? Jordan hasnt done a poo since saturday and he is now grunting all the time to try and get it out. Is there anything I can give him? I now he is going to explode his nappy when he finally does it  Hope Daddies home when it happens.

What a day! DH went back to work after a few weeks holidays and this is my first sit down all day. Will has been better but still a bit grizzly between 12 and 2. Molly still has an afternoon sleep which is really handy so i got about an hour of peace which helps restore sanity :)
Kazzy - glad to hear you are ok. We have a 'fire box' ready to go as we live right next to bushland. We put in it photos and negatives, passports and birth certificates as well as special things that can't be replaced. we also just increased our contents insurance, just in case. It's going to be a brutal summer, as you are experiencing...
Kristie - I find the first three months the hardest too. They start to get much easier to understand and you have had time to really bond and get into routine so you have more time to enjoy your bub. The beach sounds nice, glad to hear you had a good time out to see Billy Connelly. I haven't thought about solids yet, Will is almost 4 months so we will see what happens. With Molly it was obvious she was getting hungrier she started waking up through the night after having been sleeping through for months so we started her at 4 months.
Dee - Will is starting to look like rolling onto his side. He gets half of his body lifted but can't quite make it. I should give him more tummy time but i just run out of time or forget oops...
Tracey - Will hasn't been constipated. Does Jordan seem to be in pain? If not then I wouldn't worry, breastfed babies don't get constipated they can go for even two weeks without pooing. You've been giving him a formula bottle, haven't you? If so then that can change his 'routine' too.

Hi Everyone,
Thankgoodnes for the cool change - I think that was the only thing that stopped the fire from being blown into Lara. They are saying that we still have to keep an eye out, but there is no immediate threat. I unpacked the car today (had most of the kids clothes in there!). SO, breathing a sigh of grateful relief. I feel so bad for the people who have lost their homes and have heard on the news of a person and a child being caught in their car and a firie being killed. Just horrible.
Back to baby talk - a happy subject.
I weighed Eden today and she has put on another 180 grams in one week YAY!!!! All that feeding is working
Kell - it makes a difference having someone else around doesn't it. Even though I still do most of the child orientated tasks in the house, when DH is home it just seems easier. I think that one of the haardest things is keeping an active toddler entertained whilst caring for our little ones. Brandan is a really good kid and there are still times that I am torn between what to do first. I look forward to my bed each night let me tell you. That 'fire box' is a great idea. I think that I will do that too. We need to look at our insurance policy also.
Melissa - the smoke was pretty thick but thankfully it stayed quite high up and didn't reach ground level where we are. Just the look of the sun was scary - Brandan was amazed. My sister lost power at her house and she is only 10 mins from us. Power grid overload. I was hoping that we didn't loose power 'cause of the breastmilk in the freezer. Eden is also 'chewing' a bit while feeding but I don;t think she is teething. I think she is just playing about a bit. NOT FUNNY THOUGH!!!!!!
Tracey - my DS went 12 days without a poo when he was little. He had me so stressed about it!! The only thing I can think of is maybe if you eat some licorice - it may come through your milk and through to Jordan.????? He is fine though - as long as he is having wet nappies then that is the main thing.
Off to a Myotherapist tomorrow to get them to look at my bl**dy back. Sorry about the french, but I am so sick of it!!!!!! Just want to feel normal again. [-o< [-o< [-o< Hopfully, he will be able to pinpoint the problem and treat it [-o< . Pretty expensive though and my private health cover doesn't cover it :fuming: But if it works, then it is worth it!!
Is anyone else having problems with keeping weight on?? I keep loosing weight - I am eating OK but it just keeps dropping off me. I am not skinny by any means - 167 cm and 58 kilos - so I am not worried about getting too thin, it is just that I breastfed DS for 8 months and wasn't effected this way. Just curious.
Well, I am off to bed to have a good, peaceful nights sleep (hopefully)
Will catch up on all the news when i log on tomorrow. DOes anyone know when Linda is back from holidays???
Love to all the Mums and Bubs.
Kazzy

hi guys,i think linda should be back any day soon as she was going away for 2 weeks.i also had the dramatic weight loss,it dropped off me so fast after chantelle was born,i am about 5 kilos lighter than before i was prg,it seems to have stopped and i am now 59 kilos,i would love it to stay that way though, but still need to get rid of my potty.
my boys started solids at 4months but that was what was suggested back then,i guess you will know if they want food and it definantly does not hurt to start at 4 months they wont eat it if they dont want it i guess.chantelle has been an angel for lots of days latly, very happy and content,no tantrums or unsettledness.
she has her app tomorrow at 11am to see the pead about her hips,im sure that there is no probs there but must take the advice of the refering dr to make sure.
friends of ours has offered to look after all three of my children on fri night to give me and grant a night out, woohoo.we havnt been out for about 18 months without the kids, the last time we went out was to see the eagles in concert,we have decided to go out to the docklands for dinner and then to the casino to waste some money on a bit of gambling.we have only been to the casino a couple of times in the past 12 years that we have been together, cant wait, chantelle bottle feeds before bed so i know she will be fine with formula.i think i will be a bit anxious without her and im sure i will be ringing to check on her no doubt.
anyone got af back properly and having regular cycles,i still havnt had mine,i am still breast feeding,am not on any contraceptives either(doh!!!)
the fires are heading our way now and i am happy to hear that it turned away from lara, that was a close call.they wont reach us but will certainly wipe out bachus marsh and melton if they dont contain it before the 40 degrees on thursday.we live about 10 minutes drive past melton city bound.
anyway gotta get some zzzzz,s
love to all mums and bubs
nikki
-
Nikki - I don't know what has happened to my cycle. I'm only getting light spotting around the time I'm due. It lasts 2 days, then it's gone, but the groin pain is excrutiating.
I tried Benjamin on some pureed fresh mango at Christmas time, just to give him a taste of it, and he loved it. Whenever we have food, he wants some. I'm still b/f him, but I don't know for how much longer. I have the supply, but he is much more interested in what we are having.
What do I do?
Stay cool ladies and bubs! I [-o< for cooler weather for everyone!
Melissa
-
melissa benjamin is a big boy so maybe you should consider giving him solids at 4 months along with breast feeding,he will need less feeds per day if you give him 3 meals a day of solids, you might find that he is happier for it.
i have something terrible to tell u all, chantelle fell out if my bed the other day,i was putting my sons new bed together and she rolled right out of my bed onto the carpeted floor, she was so upset she could hardly breath from the devastation she was feeling,my god i felt so bloody horrible and bad,she is not rolling at all but did manage to wriggle her way off,she has no injuries but was very upset.i now make sure that she is surrounded by pillows,my 7 y.o was very angry with me and dobbed on me to daddy,he wasnt my friend for a few hours and said i was a naughty mummy for hurting his baby.my poor baby!!!!

Nikki, accidents happen unfortunately. It's happened to me and I'm sure similar things have happened to your other kids. Kat rolled off the edge of my bed when she was a bub. Luckily she landed on a pillow. She's also been bouncing on the lounge and gone headfirst into the floor (she was just learning how to jump), walked right off the edge of both the lounge and bed (she knew the edge was there, just forgot and we just didn't reach her in time)..... kids are amazingly resiliant! They get a fright and cry like their hearts are broken, then five minutes later they have forgotten about it. And mummy's kisses always make everything feel better! (add a bottle or a feed and they feel a million dollars!). As long as Chantelle is not hurt, she will forget it (probably already has), it's us who never forget it nor forgive ourselves. But we learn from it.
No-one likes to see their baby fall or get hurt, but it's going to happen....
-
nikki - Dont stress too much about Chantelles little accident. As long as she is fin now thats all that matters. As Katkins said, accidents happen and babies are resiliant.
I banged Jordans head on the shower frame the other day, he cried a bit but got over it. Jamie made me feel guilty for a while though.
We have our MH app tomorrow and I am so anxious to get an official weight and length for Jordan. I think he is thinning out as getting longer but not chubbier over the last couple days. I think cutting out the night feed has really helped.
Speak to you all later we are off to return the capisule we hired. Jordan doesnt fit into it anymore.
-
thanks girls.
just got back from pead and she seems to think that chantelles hips are fine but is sending her for an u/sound just to be sure, will let you know of the results when done.

Hey everyone.
Just a quick post tonight. Cleaning for BBQ on Thursday (Geez- wish I had this much enthusiasm when I was supposed to be nesting!!!!).
Dee - Mum and Dad are fine. Dad went on the boat to go home to the Island that day (Sunday). He stopped at our place first then went on the boat. When he got to Penneshaw, the road was blocked, so he couldn't go into Kingscote (where He and Mum live). I guess he got home that night, otherwise he probably would've slept in the ute!!!
Catch up sounds good, I've got some time up my sleeve soon, I'll let you know when I'm not busy as a bee (couple of b-days coming including DH's)!!!
Don't worry Nikki - I left Tristan in one of those old style bouncers - the ones with the metal frame and the crochet style sling part they sit in - and he was happily talking away, I went in the kitchen to do the dishes. Few minutes later i heard a scream and crying. I rushed to where he was and I found him on the floor. Turns out he was bouncing away, slowly slipping off the bouncer until he bashed his head on the tiled floor. Lucky i had a blanket under the bouncer. Bad Mummy.
I've learnt to keep more of an eye on Tristan now since he's discovered pushing himself around on his back with his legs and bashing his head into things.
Kazzy - Glad you and your family are ok.
I gotta go. I'm taping amber lady on TV for DH and his mates (women in bikinis wrestling in honey) and it's just finished. Sucked in to them though cos it's in black and white. I don't know why but Channel V is the only pay tv channel we tape that's not in colour. Not my prob though!!!!
Ok..............Catchup soon love Bonnie
-
Nikki - I had Benjamin home a few days after having him, and he slipped off my lap during the middle of the night while I was feeding him. We both dozed off. I jumped up when I didn't feel the weight on my lap. He had rolled down my leg onto the timber floor. I rushed him up to the hospital, and they checked him out.
Did you know they only keep baby's who have fallen, there for 4 HOURS!?!?!? I was shocked.
Basically, bub's are pretty tough. They told me of mothers who have dropped there bubs unintentionally from chest height while they are standing, head first onto concrete floors. How on earth you do that unintentionally has got me baffled.
I had the head paed doctor tell me "that it probably won't be the first time you'll drop him, or the last time, it happens to almost everyone, even the most experienced mother."
Another few points the paed doctor had made was: If they cry straight away, they are fine. But just check them out anyway, and keep an eye on them. If they start to vomit, or are hard to wake, or become limp, get your butt up to the hospital immediately.
I suppose though, considering I only had Benjamin out of hospital for a few days, and being a first time mum, I panicked, but what mother wouldn't. So don't feel bad Nikki!

Well we had our weigh in at the maternal health clinic today
 Jordan weighs 8.8 kilos
He is officially off the scale in weight now. He is only 61.5 cm long so in the 50th percentile for his age.
Maternal nurse said not to worry as he will slow down in the weight gain and that I was doing a great job with the breastfeeding. I feel alot happier now.
What are everyone elses measurements. I would be interested to see Jordan against the others..... I hope he isnt too huge. [-o<
-
Tracey - Dylan is 65cm long, head circ 42 cm and weighs 71.2 so around 90th percentile for all...
Melissa - I nearly did drop Dylan unintentionally when he was about a week old. I have a habit of waving to my dog when I walk into a room (don't know why!!) and I came sooo close to doing it once when I was carrying Dylan. I couldn't believe it! I actually did just take one hand away but reacted fast enough that he didn't fall. So, amazing as it seems, I can actually belive it happens!
Bonnie - glad your folks are ok. Hope your bbq goes well. My dh has to work tomorrow so I'll be having a quiet aussie day!
Hope everyone else has a good one!
-
Hi!
Nothing too much happening for us. Yesterday I was sooo tired (just started taking some iron tabs again) that when Louis woke I took him into bed with me and fed him in there so I could doze! but it actually mucked up the whole day! He wouldn't sleep for more than 40min at a time and was just so cranky - today we got back to our normal routine and he had just over 2 hours sleep over lunch! it's amazing how getting into a good routine can work!
He's doing really well - wants to sit and stand all the time and is grabbing toys and actually picking them up and putting them in his mouth. Clever little thing.
He's still waking through the night but he might cry out and then he must go back to sleep because I only hear him again a couple of hours later so I assume the self settling is starting! woo hoo.
Kazzy - Glad to hear that everything turned out ok!! Hope your backs feeling better also. I wish I was having trouble keeping weight on - hehe. I'd still like to lose another couple but I'm at my pre-p/g weight now anyway. I'm joining a gym soon! Woo hoo. It's not so much weight I need to lose as just getting fit again and toning up. I'm about 165cm and 57kg at the moment...54-55kg would be my ideal!
Melissa - I get bites on the nipple every now and then too at the moment - grrr. I think when Louis gets teeth I will be very worried to keep b/f. Sorry about your af pains - thats no good. I've been giving Louis a bit rice cereal. It seems when he doesn't want it/has had enough he just closes his mouth anyway so Benjamin will either want it or he won't....
Tracey - Louis is on day 8 of not doing a poo - that's his record so far. He doesn't seem to have trouble getting it out when it comes though but geez he's a stinker at the moment when he farts - hehe. My dh has missed them all too so far. I think its only classified as constipation at the moment if the poos are hard....
Don't stress about his weight - Louis' 3 month measurements were: 5.85kg and 59cm long but he was born 5lb14 so.....
O.K - better go - I've got a grizzly little man on my hands...
Nikki - Yeah on having a night out - that sounds great! Still no af for me yet!! Glad to hear the fires stayed away!
Don't feel bad about Chantelle - accidents happen - and I'm sure she's fine...
I'm glad to hear Chantelles hips are fine - thats great news
Bonnie - Have a good time at your bbq tomorrow! I didn't get into the nesting thing other than to clean the house when I actually went into labour - hehe. Very silly now that I can look at the whole labour process - hehe.
Your very good for taping that for your dh - I wouldn't - hehe!!
-
Tracey - I've booked in Benjamin, to have a weigh and measure up at the base hospital's children's health clinic.
Benjamin's 4 months old vaccinations are coming up very quickly. I'm glad the panadol worked last time.
Donella - My DH has to work tomorrow too. But he gets Friday off \:D/ I do realise about the unintentional thing now, I meant I was baffled at the time, only being a new mum. I did not realise how difficult it was to hold a bub sometimes, especially when they squirm or throw themselves backwards all of a sudden. I do now!

have updated my babies online site, take a look.............cute.

Very cute Nikki! Look like she enjoys her Jolly Jumper... Dylan used his for the first time a few days ago and loved it. He happily bounces away.
Dylan is sleeping lots more than usual in the past 2 days. Usually his daytime naps are about 40 mins, but now he's going for a couple of hours. He gets tired more quickly too - after only about an hours play. :-k
-
Hiya,
Nikki - Chantelle is just a cutie pie!! Love the jolly jumper photo. I am looking forward to Eden being able to have a go in hers!!! Chantelle and Eden look very similar in size and shape - must be the good breeding!!! I bet you are looking forward to tomorrow night. When Eden is a bit bigger, we will have to meet up with our DH's at the Casino for a night out. I live going there - have been a couple of times and we stayed over night once when Brandan was three. Our only night away from him. We had such a ball.
Melissa - Have you been asked to change you ticker?? I had a lillipie ticker and because it took two 'thingie' can't remember what they are, the photo was taken off. I have tried the other ones but can;t seem to get them to work!! I am very good at computers, just not this type of stuff. Web pages are defintialey very tricky for me!!!
Donella - Enjoy it!!!! He is alot more active now so will tucker out alot quicker!! What a good boy DYlan is.
Kristie - I agree about the routine. SOunds like Louis is doing very well. It is amazing that 4 to 5 months ago we were preparing for the birth, and now we are interacting with and watching new little people imerging!!
I was 54 kilow when I got married and everyone was worries I was 'too skinny' I think it looked a little too gaunt on met - I suit a bit of weight around the face. I too need to tone up and strengthen up. That is my priority after my back is better..
Well, signing off for now. Having a little bit of a rain/thunder storm here. Wish it would rain harder though so the firies get some relief. Heres [-o< that progress is made in all areas effected by the fire.
Chow Bella's

Hi!
Well - after going to bed at 6pm last night as he was zonked Louis is still asleep! I fed him at 10.20pm and it's now 6.40am! Woo hooo. Of course the stupid part is I'm awake and he's not. I woke up at 6am because he stirred a little but he must have gone back to sleep - hehe. I have to learn to sleep through again now!!!
Kazzy - hope the fires have stayed away - we've had quite a bit of rain here too.
Donella - maybe it's a growth spurt?? Also hot weather won't be helping either. I know I feel more sleepy in it...
Nikki - She's just gorgeous!
Melissa - I've booked Louis in for his immunisations as well - grrr.
Have a good day!
-
Hi all
Thankgod it isnt 40 degrees again.
Krisvee - What a great sleep Louis has had. Funny that he is asleep and you are not. Ususally is the other way around and when we want to sleep they dont. Hope you got some sleep after you posted.
Nicole - I wont be able to make the mothersnetwork this Tuesday as I have to take my dad in for an operation. The group meet at Caroline Springs, Brookside community Centre 9am. If you go down caroline springs bvd, past coles you will come to a football feild at the roundabout turn left, there is a group of shops and to the right is the daycare centre, behind that is the community centre.
If you want to meet up on wednesday for a drink somewhere I am happy to do that.
Well we were told to do more tummy time at the health clinic to help shift some of Jordans weight. He isnt too keen on tummy time so we are only spending 2-3 mins at a time on our tummy. He is getting the hang of it but doesnt really like it.
Hope the rest of you are well and bubs are happy.
LOVE ALL THE GIGGLES WE ARE GETTING \:D/
Hugs to all

Hi all
What a busy week phew! Glad it is now the weekend and Dh is home to help. Will has been absolutely perfect this week - I thought for a moment I had swapped babies somewhere :) He is sleeping 2-3 hours at a time during the day and 9-10 hours overnight. Even when he wakes up at 6.30ish he doesn't want food until 7.30ish so DH gets him up and I get another 1/2 hour shut eye...heaven! I think that it is either he is just over that early fussy stage or that it was something I was eating transferring into my breast milk - this week is the first time he has had only formula. I had my suspicions that he was intolerant to the dairy I was eating (my sis and i were the same) so i was expressing when he normally fed and giving him formula and he has settled so well. I get him weighed and immunised next thursday...
deancey - i hope jordan gets used to the tummy time soon, Will didn't like it to begin with either. Enjoy the cooler weather, hope it lasts...
Krisvee - Yay on the sleep, it takes a little while to get into a new sleep routine after they start sleeping through (Will slept through for a week and then started waking up again so I would just get used to one thing and then he'd change it *groan*)
Kazzy - hope things have calmed down with the cooler weather, *pray* that the fires stay contained and don't flare up again
Nikki - What a sweetheart! I love the jolly jumper photo too - we haven't tried Will in his yet. I am worried because while he can hold his head it still wobbles a bit, did you have any probs with Chantelle?
Enjoy the weekend - anyone watching the tennis finals??? I quite like the unseeded guy Baghdatis, it would be nice to see him win
-
Just a quick question: can reflux develop at any time? Dylan has not had a problem with it before but today he has been "vomiting" up clear bile which smells acidic (it's horrible!) and he seems distressed by it. He's always a milk spiller, but these "vomits" are clear and come up about 20 mins after his bottle. Does this sound like reflux to anyone who has experinced it in their bubs?
Also - we had our first infant massage class yesterday and it was fantastic! Dylan loved it and it was relaxing for me also as it was 2 hours including coffee and lots of chat time (we have a group of 4 in the class)
-
Donella - I am not sure if Relfux can develop at anytime. I would have thought that at this age though if your child didn't have it earlier then they were pretty safe from getting it. Clear you say - when kids chucky 20 mins after a feed, the milk would unsually be curdled or part digested. Maybe he has a little tummy bug - if it smells acidic then it could be bile?? In one of the forums on health, I have read responses to health related questions from a midwife named Alan - maybe you could post a question. When Eden was throwing up feeds when she was smaller, my doctor told me to bring her in if she 'vomits' three times in a row - after each feed - just to get her checked out. Maybe if Dylan keeps doing it, it would be worthwhile getting him checked out. Let us know how Dylan is going. Hopefully Dylan is just getting rid of excess milk once his tummy has relaxed after a feed.
Kell - things have really quietened down thank goodness. So glad to see the rain and we had heaps of it today. The fires are now listed as contained - great news. They are investigating though to see if they were deliberatley lit. WIll sounds like he is being a little delight - YAY =D>
Eden is being a bit 'funny' with other people apart from me and DH. She cries whenever my Mum or Dad talk to her!!!! Really cries - I am not sure if this is a seperation thing or not - my Mum sees her just about every day so it can't be a stranger thing. It is really weird. She is putting her hands to her mouth on purpose now - and really trying ot get toys and things in there too. Her harness is SO tight that it makes it very hard for her. 8 MORE DAYS til we take the thing off. SHe really doesn't like when I put it back on after her bath - she looks so long. SHe has these 'divets' in her legs from where the velcro is so I hope they don;t stay there.
Nikki - how was last night? Did the kids go OK without you and DH. Give those of us who do not have a life yet the goss!!!! (Kazzy says jealously)
Kristie - three cheers for Louis 'HIP HIP HORRAY' You enjoy that extra rest!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tracey - LOL about Jordan :cryinglaugh: What a beautiful boy. He loves his tucker and you are doing afantastci job!!!!!! Jordan has been sent to Maternal and CHild Health Boot Camp!!!!! ROTFL
-
dee i cant say that chantelle had clear vomit while she had reflux, sounds like bile?????
well we had such a good time last night and i have to say i was not one bit concered or having seperation anxiety,i rang once to see how they were going and the boys were havinga balll and chantelle was being an angel,at one stage chantelle was crying cos she was hungry and my youngest son got quite upset and very anxious and was begging them to ring me so i could come home to FIX her.LOL a bottle soon fixed that and he then ran off to play with the other kids.she slept through till 5.30 this morning for them and they really enjoyed having her and the boys, the boys said they had a great time as they have 5 children of there own and a swimming pool so they were kept very busy,we went to the casino and met up with some friends,we had dinner and then played roullette for the night,we went with $500 in our pocket and came home with $800 so the night cost us nothing and we made $300...wwwooohhhooo.we evn found time to have a bit of a jiggy when we got home(TMI)!!!!!anyway im glad we went but we got home at 2am and i am stuffed tonight.
any way sleep time now
nikki
-
Nicole - what a fantastic night out for you both. Its great that you were able to come back with more money than when you left. =D> I am glad you enjoyed the night out and didnt stress to much about being away from Chantelle.
Kazzy - not long now till the harness comes off and I bet you are hanging for it as much as Eden would be. The little cutie wont know what to do with all the freedom.
Donella - Glad to see that you liked the baby massage class. That would be handy to know to try and resettle bubs.
Well tomorrow is D day!!!!!!! Back to work for me
I am so not looking forward to it. I have started to pack for the day and I cant beleive how much stuff Jordan needs for a day. I have the nappy bag packed, my bag for the expresser and the bottle, my handbag. Then i need to take porta cot to mums, pram and car seat..... I will need to get there early just to unpack
I am sure there will be some tears tonight and tomorrow morning but hopefully the day will go quickly and I will be back home.
Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Hi Everyone.
What a week.
Australia day was great. Had a heap of friends over for the JJJ hottest 100 countdown. It was about 40 degrees, very hot, so we got Tristan's new blow up pool out. Tristan had his first little swimmy in the pool. At first he was a bit sooky, then he worked out that it was keeping him cool and he was ok after that. I had a few to drink, so he was on formula. Geez my bb's felt sore by bedtime!!!!
We went to the softball carnival today. My Mum's team from Kangaroo Island were playing. We were in the sun for only a little bit (about 15min) but we had a sunburn crisis.
I feel like a bad mummy. Tristan only turned a little pink on his arms below his elbows and below his knees, but I'm feeling really guilty right now. Lucky he was wearing a hat. Smack my hand. A friend who was with me told me I shouldn't feel so bad and that accidents happen. I got home and put paw paw cream on his arms and legs. Then, DH got home from golf and he was red like a beetroot. He didn't put sunscreen on either and he's paying for it right now. Emergency trip to the chemist for aloe vera gel.
Nikki - Glad you enjoyed your night out. Wow on the extra moolah!!!! Send some good luck vibes my way!!
I gotta go. Not feeling so great. I'm a bit sunburnt too. I think I'll have a shower to ease the burn.
Speak soon....................Bonnie

Tracey - Today was weigh-in day for Benjamin. He was 8235grams, 67.5cms long and has a head circumference of 42cm. Good Luck on your first day back! I'm contemplating going back to work early too.
Bonnie - I thought I had problems with my DH and bad sunburn. My DH works in the sun all day, but forgets the sunscreen half the time. I had the health nurse tell me, to make sure Benjamin has on the sunscreen and a hat because of his fair skin. I can remember being a kid and my mum letting me run around the beach in the nuddy, but you dare not do it now with all the campaigns like slip slop slap. I tend to agree with your friend though, you can't remember all the time. Oops! Let's hope the pinkness fades quickly...
Nikki - Congrats on your winnings =D>
Kazzy - No probs here with my ticker... :-k I have a few I can choose from if I can't have the one I've got now. I've made a few on other ticker sites just in case.
It's time to go cut Benjamin's toe nails and finger nails. I find when he is sleeping is the best time to do it, because he doesn't wiggle so much.

Hi everyone  I'm back from my holiday! We had a really good time & Emma coped really well with all the changes.
I have been browsing, I have caught up with a lot of what's been happening, but not all of it, so bear with me if I forget what's already been covered.
Have any of your bubs laughed yet? Emma had her first laugh last week - it was awesome!!! I had tears in my eyes it was SO cute!!! She did it again the next day, but hasnt since then, but we keep trying LOL
What milestones have happened for you all in the last 2 weeks?
-
Well I did it, my 1st day back at work.
I cried when I left mums and the entire drive to work. I cried when I saw all my friends and when I got to my desk. The day went pretty quickly though and I only checked in on mum twice.
When i expressed at lunch time I found it really difficult, after about 20 mins I finally got a let down and then we got some action. 300ml in the bottle I was rapted. =D>
I expressed again when I got home and will feed Jordan before I go to bed tonight.
Linda - Welcome back, glad Emma was a good girl for you both. Jordan as finally slept thru the night......
Melissa - I am glad to see that Benjamin is a similar weight to Jordan, I dont feel so bad now. Although Benjamin is 6 cm longer than Jordan. You are doing a great job. Good idea about cutting nails in bubs sleep maybe I will try that.
I think i will head off to bed shortly so will get going.
Night all  and HUGS TO BUBS

i wont be going to mothers group tomorrow as my boys start back at school and i would like to be there to make sure that they get into there new classes alright, particularily my youngest as he is starting grade 1 and i know he would like to show off his new calssroom and friends and teacher to me.i prob wont getaway from there till about 10 then i have to wait for a truck to come and pick up a bed i sold on ebay and i dont know what time it is arriving.i understand that you are working now so will you be able to come to any of the mothers groups,i hope so,i am a bit nervous about going without knowing someone there.

our milestones have been that chantelle has learnt how to laugh and also how to use her jollly jumper and she just loves it.
i wonder how katkins, fenella, cindyb, canniel and bekka are all going have not heard from them all for quite some time.
melissa glad that benjamin is growing so nicely.
how many babies are grabbing things or holding things in there hands, chantelle is not doing any of that yet although sometimes it looks like she is trying to reachup to touch toys on her mobile.

Hi!
Aaaah - Classes start back this week. It's been a bit scary as my numbers aren't up as high as I'd like but I'm still getting lots of calls as the week goes along. There's a lot of extra pressure as I'm only teaching a little and paying teachers so a lot more overheads....
Anyway - Louis is doing really well. I've decided I need to make the rice cereal a regular thing as I haven't given him any over the last few days and his feeds are really mucked up. I'm not sure if thats why but I'll try him again tomorrow and see how we go....He loves eating it anyway. I think 4 months on the dot I'll try him with some other foods - very slowly of course. He loves watching us eat - I think he's very jealous when we eat our dinner in front of him and he doesn't get any.
Not too much on the milestone front - we've had a couple of funny type laugh things - not a full on giggle though. But enough to make us laugh when he does it - he he.
This is such a beautiful age - Louis and I lied on the couch this afternoon and for like 1/2 an hour just played with each other - he kept trying to put his hands in my mouth and though it was really funny!
He is also wriggling a lot more too (especially when he's cranky!) He can also hold on to his little soccer ball with both hands and throw it (well.. let go...) His biggest thing though is to kick his legs. A lot. Someone even commented on it at mothers group. Especially if he's excited.
Linda - Glad you had a great time - Look forward to catching up with you!
Tracey - Wow on the 300ml - 200mls my max at the moment. Great job on going to work! Remember it will only get easier....
Wow Melissa - what a big bubba! I'm not sure what Louis is at the moment but he's probably just over 6kg..will find out on Friday. How fast do their nails grow - it's crazy!
Bonnie - don't feel too bad - these things happen. Glad you had a good Australia day!
Nikki - What a great night! That sounds fantastic - what a well deserved break for you!
Kazzy - Louis is going through a funny stage now too where it's not so much other people as being left alone. he gets really cranky the moment he sees no-one else around. Which can be hard when your trying to get some things done. We bought a high chair so I can wheel him around the kitchen and he can see what I'm doing - hehe. God knows what they'l be like when they hit the seperation anxiety stage! hehe. Not long to go now until the harness is off - that's going to be great.
Donella - Sorry can't help you with that one. Louis sometimes sicks clear but with the curdled milk bits if it's a while after his feed but never just a plain clear one....The infant massage sounds great!
Kell - Glad to hear Will has been so great for you! It's so nice when you can just cruise along with them! I was going for Baghdatis too! He still did so well even if he didn't win!
Ok better go - full on day tomorrow and I better feed Louis in a minute..
Just a question - what time are your bubs going to sleep at night?? Louis was going at around 7pm but now we're lucky to get him into bed by 8.30-9pm (admittedly he's sleeping through so I'm not worried - but just wondering...)
-
Kristie - Benjamin is in bed by 7:30pm. Wake up time is around 4am, when DH gets up for work. If I don't cut Benjamin's nails weekly, he uses them to scratch us.
Benjamin is screaming for a feed after filling his duds so I better go...
Melissa
-
Wow - thats an early wake up! I suppose they all just create their own little patterns...
-
Nikki - Emma grabs things with her hands, but is still really unco!
Kristy - Sounds like young Louis is going to be a pro soccer player!!! Emma kicks like mad too when she is excited & flaps her arms around, its so funny!!
Emma goes down at about 9-10pm. I have tried to shift it earlier but it just wont happen. I guess over time it will change, probably when they are more mobile & wearing themselves out more! But Emma also sleeps through so I dont really mind (as long as I still get to watch my favourite TV shows :) ) Sounds really full on employing other people! Good on you though! I'm sure Louis will enjoy you more!
-
Yep! I think we've decided he's going to be a soccer player, swimmer, motorbike rider etc hehehe - every new thing he learns predetermines his future - hehe.
He learnt a new little trick this morning which worries me. We've always just sat him in the bouncer without strapping him in because he doesn't wriggle too much but I had it up on the highest setting this morning and he's decided he can sit up! Of course he rolls forward/sideways and will end up going head first onto the floor - I'm so glad I could see him doing it so now we have to make sure we strap him in. He's getting a bit too clever I think....
Yeah, the 9pm isn't too bad - he ususally sits pretty quietly at that time so we can watch t.v as well. We have him all wrapped up so he knows it's bedtime and he's just lucky staying up late - hehe.
