hi all, sorry I've not been posting lately. Been so flat out with two babies! I swear I don't know how I am doing it. Jess is at the stage where she wakes up all the time cause she loses the dummy and I have to go in and settle her again and again and again. It's exhausting me. She's "sleeping thru" in that she has her last feed at around 10pm, down to bed at 10:30 and up for morning feed at 7am. But I'm having to get up every hr or so from 2am on. It's running me ragged. I'm st the stage where we will need to break her dependance on the dummy before she can remember having it so am starting today. I will put her down with dummy in, if she loses it, she can cry herself back to sleep. I've put up with this for weeks and I can't take it anymore. We had to do the same thing with Kat. Two nights of hell and she's a perfect sleeper now! (well usually, last night she woke up at 10pm screaming so bad I got her up and gave her cuddles and an extra bottle and let her play a bit before putting her back down).
I'm so forgetful. I forgot about Kat's dinner last night (DH was busy fixing a friends computer, I had the friends wife with me and we were watching Kat's dvd and trying to settle Jess who was just being fussy). She had it at around 8pm (latest she ever gets it is 7:30pm as her bedtime is 8:30). The this morning I forgot breakfast too. She's eating it now. Poor bugger. She stood at the gate to our bedroom and called to me for 5mins before I realised what she wanted! Du'h! I was using the loo and checking my emails.
I feel soooo bad..... Prob just cause I'm tired.
Well better go get her down and clean her up. Knowing my kat, there's food everywhere!!! Never met a messier kid! My mum says it too!

Hi,
Kerrie sorry to hear your having a hard time...I'm not quite sure how you're doing it either!
I'm sure things will settle down soon. I know Louis did that a couple of times where he would wake every hour - it's just so draining. He still generally wakes once a night but this morning he woke right on 4am - I read somewhere that this is when they will wake if they get cold - dh got up to him and said his arms were out and were cold so wrapped him back up and he went straight back to sleep. It's hard at the moment because the house is quite warm at bedtime but cools off through the night. It will be good when I can rug him up in warm sleepsuits....
Hopefully you get a chance to catch up on some sleep soon.
-
I've been finding the same thing. At night it is hot, but by 3am its quite cool & Em has ussually unwrapped herself.
Kerrie - I dont know how you do it! Dont feel bad at all, you have a massive workload ATM & you are doing a fantastic job

Hi
i sat down to post a reply this morning and had almost finished it when Molly fell and hit her head so I jumped up to get her and my foot caught the mouse cord and the laptop went flying (it's not even ours it's my sisters oops!) so i grabbed Molly and came back to check the computer it is fine but my post was lost *sigh*. So here goes again...
Linda - Glad that you had such a good holiday, we are thinking about going to Germany in Sep for Nick's brothers wedding but I'm not sure if i want to travel that far with 2 kids. Will is laughing - he is starting to really laugh which is so cute, he loves his sister and she always makes him laugh :)
Tracey - Hopefully the days at work will get easier, plus absence makes the heart grow fonder :)
Kerrie - I know what you mean with 2 kids, Molly is nearly 3 though and is sort of self sufficient, although with the brace on not so much. I get to the end of some days and can't remember the beginning! Will was also waking up last night wanting his dummy, Dh usually gets up to him though which is nice. Good luck with breaking the dummy!
Krisvee - I find the same the house is hot at bedtime so i usually put Will down in a singlet or light romper and then by 2 or 3 he gets cold and we have to resettle him, which thankfully doens't take long. The colder weather will be better we can rug them up.
Will had a tummy bug yesterday and so was pooing every 1/2 hour which meant he didn't sleep well, today is a bit better thankfully. He goes to bed round 6-7 and then i wake him up at 9.30 for a bottle and then straight back to bed until about 6.30 or 7 which is pretty good. Molly is calling for help to get up onto he couch so better go...
Bye

Hi girls,
Has been a loooong time since I posted here. I occasionally pop in here to check how things are going with you all. It's lovely to hear how your babies are growing and progressing.
I'm still on the merry-go-round of life with a prem baby - which means we're out at least four days each week carting Fergus to all the various specialists/allied health services people. Then we have one full day each week with Tresillian as they are trying to help us with his feeding.
Gussy is now 16wks old corrected age (and 27wks actual age) and finally seeming more settled. It appears that he has been suffering an intolerance/allergy to components of my breast milk. Under the guidance of a paediatric dietician I am now four weeks into an elimination diet to "purify" my milk from allergens. It has made a MASSIVE difference to Fergus. I can't eat wheat products, dairy products, eggs, seafood, soy products, nuts, caffeine, or any sort of artificial colours, flavourings or preservatives. It's a tough diet, but much easier to do given that it's for Fergus, rather than myself! Apparently the intolerance has been caused by his digestive system having to start work 11 weeks to soon. The paeds expect him to outgrow it in time.
Unfortunately he still hasn't got the hang of breastfeeding so I've now been expressing milk 7 times a day for 6 months and then bottle feeding it to him. Crazy isn't it!?!! My current goal is to get him to 6 months corrected age (mid April) on breast milk and then I'll rethink things. He now weighs 4.3kg which is pretty light even for his corrected age! te he. He still fits into 000 clothes. I keep reminding myself that he now weighs more than four times his birth weight - so that can't be to bad. He's really come a very long way in a relatively short time!
Hope you all stay well and that your babies are kind to you. Will try to post more often as I miss you guys! :)
-
Kirsty, it's so great to hear from you. I am sorry poor little gus is still having problems, but considering the obsticles he has overcome, he is simply amazing! You must be so proud of your little fighter! I am sure his digestive system will settle down in time and so will your lives! hugs to you and your little man! Keep in touch ok??
-
It's so good to hear from you!! Sounds like you still have a lot of hard work with expressing etc, good on you for persevering with it! And it must be great to finally have some answers to why he has been unsettled, even if it is hard to change your diet, it must be such a relief! I hope he continues to thrive - it seems like just the other day that things were so touch & go, he has come so far!
-
oh kirtsie where have you been(well i know where you have been your a very busy mummy)i have missed you and gussyboy,i am so plaesed that he is still trooping along so well,it must be so bloody hard trying to work out what works and doesnt work for him,i am so absolutly proud of you,you are truley a remarkable woman,do you have much support or help from family or friends i hope you are trying to find a little bit of me time, please pretty please pop in a bit more often just to give us a quick note on how things are progressing for the 3 of you
you are all in my thoughts nikki
-
Well we have had a pretty rough day here. Emma was SO unsettled all afternnon, just screaming when I didnt hold her & not wanting to feed. She fed at 11am, 3pm, then not again until now (10pm). She never goes 7 hours during the day - it was totally freaking me out! She doesnt have a temp & actually slept for the last few hours. Becoming a Mummy makes you SO vulnerable doesnt it! :(
-
Hi everyone.
I've finally done it. I plucked up enough courage to go back to the doctor about my PND. I feel so much better now that I've let it all out. It doesn't feel like I'm hiding anymore. I rang DH at his work and told him to take me to the doc after he came home. He's really proud of me.
Tristan has been trying new foods this week. First it was pureed apple and pear. Today he tried rice cereal. What a mess!!!! Since I've been experimental with these new foods, he's been trying to grab the spoon or my hand and stick it in his face. He's so funny.
So glad to hear from you, Kirsty. I'm glad Gussy boy is doin' fine.
Kell - I've got a mental picture of the laptop flying. Don't worry - babies are fine on the first bounce - joking!!!
I'm gonna go now - sleepy time now.
I'll catch up more soon.................Bonnie
-
Kell - Is Molly all right? She wasn't jumping on the couch again?
Bonnie - The Children's Health Nurse told me to keep b/f until 6 months, then start trying Benjamin on solids. That's their reccommendation for b/f mother's who have ample supply and their bubs are thriving. I hope Tristan enjoys his tucker?
Linda - What can I say but, hang in there...
Kristy - 000, those were the days! Way to Go Gus on growing so well =D>
Melissa

Hi everyone
Today is my day off and my 2nd day of work wasnt as bad as the 1st. I was only there for 5 hrs though which made a huge difference.
We have migrated Jordan into his cot. He is sleeping much sounder as he isnt hitting his hands on the side of the cradle anymore.
Kirsty - So nice to hear that you and Gus are doing so well. You really have done a terific job with him you should be so pleased.
Bonnie - Its takes great courage to seek help yourself for PND. I hope you get better soon. Yeah on the solids.... I can only imagine what a messy exercise it is. I dont think I am looking forward to trying solids.
Linda - i hope that Emma settles for you today. It is a shock to the system when they have a bad day after a stint of good ones. We forget how lucky we are.
Sorry to cut it short but I am off to the shops.
Speak to you all on the weekend as I have 2 full days of work thurs friday so prob wont get online.
HUGS TO BUBS
-
Hi!
Well, I just treated myself to the mum and bubs session of "memoirs of geisha" Louis was really good. Especially as he was basically held on my lap for 2 1/2 hours! (by the way - the book is better - hehe) If he cried I just walked out with him until he was settled and then went back in - it was great. Next week is "walk the line"...He wouldn't go to sleep in there so but zonked it near the end so I've managed to get him home and put him down and he's still sleeping - yeah!
Kell - Wow - I'm sure you could manage Germany - just think about how much fun it would be! Sorry to hear about Will and his tummy bug- hope he is feeling better!
Kirsty - Great to hear from you! You are doing the most amazing job - I'm so glad he's doing well!
When you say it like that - 4 x his birth weight thats amazing! Excellent job - give him a big cuddle from me!
Linda- sorry to hear you had a rough time. If only they could talk....
Bonnie - Good for you! I hope it's made you feel lots better. Yeah on the solids. I'm still only giving Louis rice cereal. Are you giving him just one meal a day?? I'm giving him breakfast now because I'm always home for that and you can't really take rice cereal with you. I'm going to start making some food soon and freeze them in the ice cube trays. I think my first move will be pumpkin - I've heard heaps of kids love it...It's so exciting giving them their first tastes of things. How much is Tristan eating??? Louis just manages a few baby tsp of rice cereal at the moment.
Melissa - 6months is the recommended time for solids now... My whole family was fed earlier and we don't have any of the issues they suggest it for eg. diabetes, allergies, obesity etc... so I'm not too worried. I think if you introduce the foods really slowly and one at a time theres not much to worry about. Every Mummy will do what they think is best for their bubba. My mchn also told me not to use the jolly jumper but I do and Louis loves it......
Tracey - I'm glad the second day was better! Yeah on Jordan in the cot! I'm glad he's sleeping well in it.
O.K - better catch up on some work/housework - been very busy with classes starting and enrolments!
-
Bonnie - I am really proud of you!!! I had Post Natal Anxiety with my first and it was so hard. Then I sought help and got through it like you will. There is no point suffering in silence - you deserve to be happy too. PND is like a thief in the night - it strikes anyone. I used to feel that my PNA was a weakness in my character especially seeing that my career is all about caring for children!!! I now see that in the big scheme of things, it is an illness just like any other. People don't choose to have diabetes or asthma for example and you certainly wouldn't choose to have PND!! Well done for getting it out in the open - get the support and help you need and start to enjoy yourself!!!!!!!!!
Linda - welcome back - youv'e been missed. Days when the children are out of sorts make you second guess everything don't they. It can be quite scary when you don't know what is wrong or how to fix it. Just take comfort in knowing that all the babies have had and will continue to have these days where we have no idea what to do. It gets easier when they can tell you what is wrong. I hope Emma is back on track now!!
Kirsty - so glad you could post on the forum. I have been meaning to email you again. You really are an amazing person. The work load we have with our bubbas is nothing compared to what you are goignt hrough. I am so glad that there has been a change in Fergus - even though you are the one doing it tough with the diet. I am sure youare happy to do anything though for a bit of peace!!! At my Mums group today one of my friends said 'how come nobody tells you how hard being a parent can be' I said, no one could tell you and even if they could describe it, who would willingly choose it!!! The thing is, that even though parenting is the hardest thing we could ever do, the love we feel for our children is also the hardest thing we could ever feel. To see your child sick or in pain is worse than feeling that pain or sickness yourself. A love so strong that your heart really does ache. Keep going Kirsty - you are remarkable!!!!!!! I have a lot of respect for you and your DH!! And Fergus is going to be someone very special when he grows up - how proud you will be!
Tracey - Big hugs to you - I know how hard it is, but give yourself some time. You may end up enjoying that time away - I did once I got used to it.
Brandan had his first session of Kinder on Tues and he LOVED it. He was so cute. I have bought him a Kinder hat and polo shirt to wera. I will take a photo and put it on Eden's website. They grow up too quickly!! Everyone says it, but it only seems like yesterday that he was Eden's age. (Sigh) Hold onto your babies while you can and before they start to pull away - don't you agree Nikki?
Off to bed now - I will catch up with all other posts tomorrow. Off to the DOctors again tomorrow about my back.. I think I will ask him if I can have a scan or an ultrasound - desperate to feel normal again.
Love to all
Kazzy
xx
-
Hi!
Kazzy - Wow on Brandon at Kinder - how exciting. Let us know when you put the photo up. I'm already scared at how quickly this 4 months has gone.....The stupid thing is I'm already getting clucky for that p/g feeling again. I loved being p/g....It's all such an amazing process.....someone tell me I'm an idiot - hehe.
-
Wow - so much has happened in here!! DH has been upgrading our hard drive and I haven't been able to get near the computer!! Well - here goes...
Kirsty -great to hear from you! You must be so exhausted. It's a real roller-coaster for you. As the others have said though, 4 times his birth weight is a great achievement for your Gussy! \:D/
Bonnie - I hope your doc is supportive and able to help you. Being a new mum is hard enough without feeling like that. I'm thinking of you. O:)
Tracey - bummer about goign back to work, but I bet your mum is loving the extra time with Jordan!! We had to move Dylan into his cot at Christmas as he grew too long for his bassinette...
Linda - welcome back, good to hear you all enjoyed your holiday. Dylan has been laughing and giggling since 8 weeks, but in the last few days has added a snort like a little piggy when he finds something really funny. Then of course he laughs at himself cos he made a funny noise! :cryinglaugh:
Has Emma calmed down now? Is she going through "wonder week" change perhaps? I've noticed every time Dylan has an unexplained bad day I look in the book and sure enough, there's a storm cloud over that week/age. It's amazing.
I know I've missed people and I'm sorry, but I Prison Break is just about to start and I don't want to miss the begginning!! I hope it's as good as the hype suggests, although they rarely are!
-
Kristie - I have that clucky feeling too, from time to time. I think I can wait, I really don't want to go back down the pregnancy path straight away considering the problems I had through it. It's kind of a contraceptive thinking about it.
Melissa
-
i am definantly feeling like that kristie,i too think the whole prg thing is absolutly amazing and wonderful,i have had 3 fantastic prgs and i still yearn to go again, like i have said previously i am not on any contraceptives and we have been very busy in the bedroom i must say but we are not trying to get prg,if it happens it happens although very unlickly as af has not returned.
i think being prg is truly an amazing thing

Hi Ladies
Jamie and I got the scare of our lives tonight as my dad rang and said that Jordan wasnt breathing properly.
We raised home (speeding the entire way) only to find out that he wasnt taking the bottle!!!!!!!!!! He was gaging each time mum put it in his mouth.
I had a smell of the milk and then a taste and it had gone off  I dont know if my mum over heated it, or it had defrosted in the freezer when it broke and then refroze??????
Once I put him on the breast he was fine and had a great feed.
I have never felt so scared in my life thinking there was a problem with him.
 Everyones clucky, including me, however I think I would wait till Jordan is 1 before we start trying again.
Kazzy great that Brandon enjoyed his day at Kinda..... he is such a big boy now.
Krisvee Yeah on the movies, I cant wait to see a bubs and mums session, would be easier than leaving him with someone and co ordinating between feeds.
Glad you are all well
Speak soon

Hi!
Well, what a full on day. Louis have been in and out of the car and spent all afternoon at dance classes (I was just doing admin) and he was pretty good. He's had just under 4 hours sleep all day though and I've just got him to sleep now....I think I'm going to risk it and not wake him at 10.30pm and just go to bed myself now as well. I last fed him at 9pm so...
He had some rice cereal with some mashed banana for lunch today and loved it so much better than plain rice cereal! hehe. He's had all his feeds today and breakfast and lunch! Little piggy boy. We get him checked tomorrow at mchn so it will be interesting to see how much he's grown.
Donella - you only need to miss a day or two and it feels like there's so much to catch up on! hehe.
Nikki - Wow - I at times have thought whether I should even bother with the mini-pill. I probably wouldn't except that when I get p/g again we have to buy a new house (we're only in a 2 br unit) so financially we need to hold off for a bit longer...
Tracey - What a scary thing to happen. I would have been so scared. I'm soooo glad that everything was ok with him. Grrr at your dad for worrying you like that!! Good little boy knowing the milk was no good for him though! Our plan is to wait until Louis is 1 also - Part of me gets so excited about the thought of being p/g and the other half sort of wonders how I will be able to pay enough attention to two bubbas. I'm sure I will manage just as everyone else does though...
K - going to get ready for bed and collapse - hehe.
-
Hi everyone.
Thanks everyone for your support. I've been feeling good today apart from a dizzy spell and a dry mouth (AD effects). Went to a friend's place for the afternoon while DH was at work. While we were there, Tristan decided he wanted to roll over (with a tiny bit of help from me). i was amazed!!!! We tried to get him to do it again but he wouldn't do it again. In his own time.
Tracey - Glad Jordan's ok. The smell of old breastmilk is so disgusting I decided not to express anymore a month ago. Everytime I give him bottle, it's formula - only one bottle a day though. The rest of the time is breast. It's just so it will be easier to wean him off when he gets teeth, which is not very far away now!!! He likes to nibble and it's starting to hurt.
Kristy - Tristan doesn't like rice cereal as much as friut puree. Tomorrow I'll try mixing the rice cereal with the pureed fruit or the breastmilk and see how he likes it. I can see why he doesn't like it. Tastes like soggy cardboard. With eating, Tristan manages a third of a jar of fruit puree only once a day. I give it to him in the morning or the feed between lunch and dinner. What about pureed carrots? I've heard they're good too.
I gotta go. The movie Snatch is on UKTV tonight and want to watch it. Brad Pitt perve.
Speak Soon......................Bonnie
-
tracey would have definantly have been because the milk thawed and was refrozen.gld he is ok now, beleive me it wont be your last scare
nikki
-
Tracey - We aren't thinking of trying again until Benjamin is one. Wouldn't it be great if we all end up pg at the same time again?
I'm happy that Jordan is ok and that it was a false alarm. Pity the EBM was off though.
Kristie & Bonnie - We can get a rice cereal for bubs here, that already has the taste of apple and pear in it.
Melissa
-
Tracey - so glad it was just a false alarm. I hope you don't get any speed or red light tickets!!
I'm not feeling clucky! I'm quite happy to wait for 18 months before we start ttc again. In the meantime we have to sell our house and find somewhere bigger and I'm in no hurry for morning sickness again! I'm happy to just enjoy my time with my beautiful little boy for now. O:)
Bonnie - did Tristan roll right over? Dylan rolls onto one side a lot but hasn't made it all the way yet. I'm sure Tristan will be rolling everywhere soon!
Dylan has slept for 10 1/2 - 11 hours every night since Sunday! Last night I had to get up once and put his dummy in, but that's it. It's wonderful to go to sleep knowing you can actually relax and maybe even get a bit of a sleep in! We hads our 2nd massage class today - I won'er if that's what is helping him sleep longer? I give him a massage each afternoon now, so maybe...
-
Well we had Will weighed etc yesterday - he is 8.3kg, 67 cm long and head c. 45cm - so big boy! His legs are so chubby hehe :) I talked to the nurse about solids but we both agreed that he doesn't seem to need them yet, he's quite big enough and content with his bottles, so I will wait a little bit I think. I am taking them both to Newcastle this weekend with my mum, so Dh gets a peaceful weekend alone, I might make him repay the favour!
Melissa - Molly is fine thanks, just a little bump on the head. She already has bruises all over her and she has only been mobile for two weeks or so!
Bonnie - How brave of you to face your PND and get help, it must feel good to be having treatment and feeling better! How exciting that Tristan is rolling, I found the same with Molly she rolled once and then wouldn't do it again, they get to things in their own time for sure!
Kazzy - Molly starts preschool in three weeks, just after her third birthday - I know what you mean about growing up too fast. I can't believe 3 yrs has gone already! They really become little people before your eyes!
Donella - What did you think of Prisonbreak?? I thought it was good, but I wonder where they will take the series if they do break out?! Sounds like Dylan likes his massage, I haven't tried it with Will.
Tracey- Glad Jordan is ok. What a scary drive that must have been! One of Wills EBM bottles was off once, and he wouldn't take it either, i tasted it and it was foul :P
We probably won't have anymore kids, I actually don't love being prg that much, i get really shocking morning sickness and the 2nd time was harder because i had to look after molly as well. Before Will i wanted three, but now.....
-
hi all,
I too am clucky again, but I'm not going thru that again so soon. I loved being pg (well mostly. Def loved the feeling and movements etc) but it was soooo hard with a young baby and m/s and tiredness and everything else that goes along with it. Not being able to get down on the floor as much with Kat when she was learning to crawl and being out grocery shopping and feeling absolutely hideously sick but not being able to stop or go home fast because I had Kat with me and we needed formula etc. I don't miss that! I just don't know how I did it. Even now I'm not getting enough sleep. Jess (like Kat did at this age) wakes 6 times a night on adverage for her dummy. Being pg and m/s and going thru that.... Wow.
Trust me girls, wait till the little ones are a yr or so before trying again. At least then you will have a sound sleep most nights which does wonders for m/s and hormones etc....
John and I are waiting till Kat and Jess are nearly school age to start TTC again (or thinking about TTC anyway). I like the fact that the IUD makes it very very unlikely I will fall pg before then (not liking the constant bleeding/spotting tho).
I hope everyone has a good weekend!!! TTFN

Well my 1st week of work was ok. I am glad that I am only working 3.5 days though as I was really tired on Friday. I was glad the day ended and I was able to come home. I was in bed by 9am........isnt that terrible.
We put Jordan in his jolly jumper this morning. He didnt bounce he just stood there. He had great control of his head though which is great.
Kell- Its great to hear that Will is doing so well in his growth. I am amazed that Jordan weighs more than Will. He was 8.8 kilo at his last visit and is younger than Will. I think Jordan is just going to be a BIG BOY.
I was told the same about solids. To hold off until he needed them due to his size.
dee73 - what great sleeps you are having, what a champ Dylan is.
Bonnie - glad to see you are feeling better and yeah on the rolling! what a great milestone. I cant wait for Jordan to do it.
Krisvee- What a good boy Louis is to sit with you at work and be in and out the car all day.
We are getting Krispy Kreme donuts delivered today, a friends sisters are coming over from sydney, they are the BEST I cant wait till they get here I am going to PIG OUT.
Hope you are all having a nice weekend. We are having a bit of a nothing day today. Taking it easy

so sorry ladies, dont know how it posted that many times.......
-
Hi!
What a full on week! I'm so glad it's over - We don't have to do anything tomorrow! Yeah! (except for housework/paperwork etc...grrr) I can handle that though.
I took Louis to his 4 month check at the Mchn yesterday and he's weight gain has slowed down a lot. He's only 60cm and 6.2 kg. So compared to some of your bubbas he is only a little thing. She didn't seem to worried about it but I just hope he's getting enough milk...She said I could start him off on solids now anyway - rice cereal at least anyway - she knows I've been giving him a bit anyway. He had a 400g gain in 4 weeks so I assume thats ok as long as he doesn't lose any. He's a solid little thing for his height so....I'll try not to worry - I think because he had such big big gains to begin with (he was only born 5lb 14/2.67kg and 46cm long) it's a bit harder to see it slow right down now..
Bonnie - Wow on Tristan rolling over! Louis isn't too interested at the moment, although after his bath tonight he sort of went to the side a bit...
I bought some jars of apple and some other fruits today at the shops. I think I'll make the veggies myself but buy the fruits. A bit easier. I've cooked up some pumpkin to put in ice cube trays also. I'm still just going to give banana for another couple of days though as I'm not in a rush to get him on all the foods.
Melissa - I've seen one in the shops with flavour but I want to finish the pack I've got first (which will take ages - he only has a tiny bit each day) It's a good idea though.
Donella - That's fantastic that Dylan is sleeping so well!! Maybe it is the massage!
Kell - What a big boy! Thats great he's doing so well. And what a big girl Molly is to be heading off to preschool! I can't even imagine that yet...
Kerrie - I don't blame you for not doing the bubba thing yet! I wouldn't if I was you either - I think you've got a big enough job as it is - hehe!
Tracey - That's good you went to bed so early -you must have needed it! I think it takes a while for the bubbas to get used of the jolly jumper - once he works it out I'm sure he'll love it.
Hope you enjoy your Krispy Kremes!
Enjoy your weekends!

Hi All,
No more babies here either. I do enjoy being pregnant, but the worry of getting older (I'm 35 in March) and things going wrong with the baby is enough to keep me from going back. I only ever wanted two children. After Brandan was born my PNA was so bad that I was only going to have him and that is it. I am so glad that I did have another though - Eden and Brandan bring me such joy.
DH built our pergola today with my Dad and two of his mates. We just have to put the roof on and it is all done!! It will be great to use that area for the kids.
Tracey - glad your first week went OK. It won't take long before it just becomes your routine What job do you do if you don't mind me asking?? Wow on Jordan's weight. Eden isn't even 6 kilos yet!!
Kerrie - I agree about waiting a little bit. It certainly would be hard to look after two very young ones, have m/s and all that unless you had heaps of support.
My back is kind of feeling better the last couple of days although I hate to say it incase I jinx myself. I am starting Pilates in two weeks - the local gym is running a class for myself and four friends so that will be great. I am also going to start swimming. I went back to my doctor and he said that I have no 'core' muscle strength at all and this is causing my back to constantly spasm - hence the pain. I have to build my strength up again. Not sure if this had anything to do with the ceasar or not but hopefully I am on the right track now.
Is everyone still wrapping their bubbas. I do with Eden but she always escapes during the night. Eden still feeds once during the night which is good - this way I can keep up her weight gain.
Who has started solids - it seems that a couple have.
Well, off to bed after I get a massage from DH (he he he) Hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow. Kisses to all the bubbbas.

Kazzy - Pilates and swimming should help your back heaps! A good way to develop core strength also is anything to do with balance - so standing on one leg while putting the other out in front or to the side. Also there is a great exercise called "hovers". You basically lie on your tummy and prop yourself up on your elbows and then lift your knees of the ground and rest on your toes. You may only be able to hold it for 10 seconds but gradually you can build up to 1min +. You just have to be really careful to brace your stomach muscles and not let your back sag down or your bum lift up - sometimes its called the plank as well because you want to keep your body in a straight line.
Yeah on the Pergola. My dh was preparing our backyard today also as we're about to pave a big section!
How much did Eden weight when she was born?
Yep - I'm still wrapping Louis. He does get himself out of it everytime but I think it still helps him to fall asleep because otherwise his arms would be flapping everywhere.
and Yep - Louis has started solids.
Ooh - lucky you with a massage.....

Hi everyone! Just a quick one from me. We have just got back from Sydney. We went for a friend's wedding. Emma behaved beautifully! And we were on a dinner cruise for 5 hours! So many people commented on how good she was!
She seems to be fine. I dont really know what was going on with her before, I think she must have just gotten overtired.
Donella - I would love to hear more of the wonder wekks. Would you mind looking up 4 months for me? Em is exactly 4 months today, I would love to hear what it says.
Kristie - Emma's weight slowed at her last check up too. They told me not to worry because she had big gains prior to that too. I'm sure they even out in the end.
-
Kazzy - I still wrap Will, he manages to escape too but it helps him get to sleep and (overnight at least) once he's asleep he stays asleep. He does get a bit hot but I sometimes put a fan in his room and that keeps him comfortable. I've found that he doesn't settle well with his arms free. He hasn't started solids, he is big enough and so I don't think he needs them yet :) Good to hear your back is feeling better and the pergola sounds really nice for those breezy summer evenings :)
Krisvee - Molly was the same as Louis, she gained really fast to begin with and then slowed down - until she started solids! As long as he's gaining don't worry - Will grows out of his clothes so fast (he's size 00 or 0) that i wish he would slow down! As for preschool you'll be there before you know it. It hardly feels like three years since i had Molly...
-
Ooooh Tracey - I LOVE Krispy Kremes!! Have one for me!
Kristie - It must be exciting to see Louis' reaction to the different foods. Dylan is still putting on good weight so we haven't gone the solids path yet. We'll wait till he needs it, but I am impatient to see his face when he tastes new things.
Kazzy -we still wrap Dylan. I put him in a sleep bag though under the wrap so when he kicks his legs out they're still warm. He doesn't usually unwrap himself until he wakes up and plays at trying to catch his mobile (this is how he entertains himself in the mornings...)
Linda - I have lent my book to the nurse at cyh for the week, but will get it back on Tuesday and look it up for you then.
We went to look at a couple of houses today (we're thinking of moving south to be closer to dhs family as they are our baby-sitters. ATM we have a 45 minute drive if we want them look after him while we go out. If I want to go back to work sometime we'll need to be closer to them) All the houses we saw in our price range were awful though, so I'm not sure what we'll do now. I guess we just keep looking...

hi all,
As I said earlier, this weekend we challenged Jessie's reliance on her dummy. Friday night and pretty much all day yesterday was HELL. She wouldn't settle and was just determined to break us so we'd give her her dummy, but it all paid off. I'm still wrapping her, but with her arms free so if she wants to settle herself, she puts her fingers into her mouth to suck on.... Last night (after crying all day and evening almost without sleep) she slept from 11pm thru till 6am which I was VERY happy with, I fed her at 6:30am and she went straight back to sleep untill 9am (took me a little longer tho). Dh took Kat out with him this morning so I got a sleep in! Am feeling GREAT now.
As for solids, I don't think Jess needs them yet. She's still very happy having her bottles (it's 4hrly atm due to not having the dummy to help her calm down and drift back off to sleep, but should go back to 6hrly once she's used to the no dummy routine). I started Kat early on solids and she liked them, but then the midwife I visit for weighing etc told me she didn't need it and to wait untill she indicated she needed it. I think in the end I told her white lies about not feeding her solids till 6mths, when in actual fact I started her on them regularly at 4.5mth-5mths when she kept trying to take daddy's food and actually grabbed his sandwich one day and his bickie the next. She's never looked back *L*. So now we are waiting for jess to do the same. She watches daddy and mummy and Kat eat, but she's not interested yet so....
Hope everyone has had a good weekend....
give the bubbas a hug for me!

Kerrie - How much do you give Jess in each bottle? Dylan has 5 bottles of 180-210 a day, but he has them 3 hourly between 7am-7pm then goes 12 hours without one. This is the routine he put himself in, I used to give him a late night bottle and an early morning one, but he sleeps so long now he doesn't get them.
-
her first bottle of a morning is 200ml, then 175ml for the others until her last feed at night (10pm) which is 250ml (she usually only has 200-225 depending on how long since last feed) then she sleeps thru till 6-7am without a feed (so usually it's four bottles, maybe a fifth but thats only a small one). But since she's crying a lot more without dummy she's wanting food every 4hrs and she takes around 150ml per feed. She's averaging 800ml a day of formula....

Hi Ladies
Well the Krispy Kremes were delicious. I have only eaten 2 out of the box of 12. DH has pigged most of the rest.
I am glad to see that most bubs are still having 5 feeds a day. I am feeding Jordan 4 hrly from 9am thru till 9pm. This is working out well with my work hours so he only gets 2 bottles feeds on my full days and 1 on my short day.
Katkins - Yeah on eliminating the dummy. Jordan uses it to get to sleep but he isnt bothered if it falls out. He will usually just put his thumb in to compensate.
Nicole - Glad to see you had a great night out. We all need a good break now and then. Chantelle seems like a little delicate girl, Jordan would look like a giant next to her
Dee73 - I did eat a krispy kreme for you, choc coated custard filled. YUMMY. Hope your house hunting gets better. The prices of houses now is pretty ridiculous.
Kell- like yourself I wont be starting Jordan on any solids as he is putting on enough weight with just boobs. I think I will wait till 5-6 months.
Linda - Emma is such a good girl to behave at the wedding.
Kazzy - congrats on the pergola. we got our done just before Jordan was born, they are just great. you can still get outdoors even when its terrible. We have a cat enclosure under ours and our dogs can get out of the rain.
Well hope you are enjoying the weekend. Cant beleive monday is nearly here again
