Hi all,
Hope you are all well.
My PC is broken, on hubbys work laptop but he will be taking it away soon..and not sure when I can afford to get PC fixed.
So I might not be here for a while :(
Hopefully I will be able to walk when I am back, I have apparently torn cartilage in my knee, hurts a lot and cant walk/lift Kirsten, which is not ideal!!
Talk to you all soon!

Oh Marion, how awful! I hope both the knee and the PC are fixed soon.
Happy Birthday to KATE!! Hope your having a great day!
Thomas is just about letting go when standing up. He is getting more confident daily so I don't think walking is too far off. He has started a new habit - waking up at 6am with a dirty nappy. I could live without that one! Bring back bfing pre solids and one poo per week!
-
Well...I managed to get a free PC..my mum had one she had been given but never used..so I am back!!
I still need new knees though..am in agony still..hopefully they will be fixed by next week when I am on my own with Kirsten!
She is 99.999% crawling today!!!
Just been to hospital and was told that my prolapsed bladder should improve with time as I am still young..it's been a long time since anyone told me i was young! So that was reassuring..!
So it's been a good day all round, except for the knees!!
Thomas is doing so well with the walking, Melanie!
Kirsten's poos are also less pleasant these days!
One problem we are having recently is that she screams and cries when my mum or aunty are looking after her. She did it yesterday when I was there and it was horrendous..I was on the point of calling the doctor when she stopped. So we aren't sure whether the way they are feeding her is giving her wind, or if its her teeth making her upset..or whether she feels insecure with them...its making me feel I should leave work though.
Hopefully it's just a phase!

GGRR I just lost my post. Ok here goes again.
Marion, yay for getting most of your problems fixed. Now fingers crossed the knees aren't too far behind - remember you are young LOL!! Yay for Kirsten crawling too, that's great news although your life is going to be harder now!! Thomas is now 9months 2 weeks, so the same age as Jack was when he first walked. I think he is still a couple of weeks away from actually walking but then he was 3.5 weeks early so that probably makes up for it. Actually it's hard when they walk so early as they don't have the understanding of "stop" etc to match it. Thomas was obeying "stop" for a while, but not anymore!
At this age so much is going on that it's hard to know why they are upset. Tom has had some really grizzly patches, mostly in the afternoons. I'm putting it down to teeth but I don't really know. THis age is also a common time for separation anxiety to kick in, so it sounds like that could be it for Kirsten. If so, at least you know it is a phase that will pass. It's so hard being away when you know they are upset isn't it. See how she goes next week, hopefully she'll be fine again.

Happy (belated) birthday Kate!!
We're on holidays on the Gold Coast at the moment. Was staying with MIL but we had a fight with Dh's stepdad, so we left and went to a hotel. Good move too because it's a great hotel, lots of room, really fancy. They even have a health spa here so i'm having a massage and a facial tomorrow, can't wait for that. We're taking the kids to Seaworld tomorrow. Lily has been once before when she was 1 and she loved it. She loves fish so i'm sure she'll love it again.
Charlie is doing well. Getting really tall, hasn't put on any weight though which is a good thing for him. He is catching up to Lily's height that's for sure. Not walking here yet. Just cruising a bit and crawling like a pro. We're planning on giving him a naming day on his 1st birthday, so its all in one. So have to organise that soon.
anyway better go. I hope you're all well.

Hello..how is everyone???
Everything OK here, knee is a bit better but still have been ordered to rest it, had an Xray on Thursday, doctor thinks I have torn the cartilage inside it or a ligament, but wanted to check my kneecap isn't broken.
DH has been allowed to work from home for a while, we shall see how that works out..can't be worse than having my mum and aunty here all day every day..they were driving me INSANE!!!
Kirsten seems fine, she had her physio appointment on Wednesday, we had been referred to the wrong physio so they couldn't tell us much, but she said she couldn't see anything majorly wrong, except she cannot sit alone yet, so she told us to encourage her.
It seems like she CAN sit but just finds it easier to lie and play with toys, plus she is always doing something with her hands so won't put them down to balance herself.
She has an appointment on 3rd August with the proper Child Development physio (the system is SO slow here) so we are trying to get her sitting by then!!
Hopefully she is just a bit later and will catch up, she seems fine in other ways and can reach down when sitting on your lap and pick a small toy up from the sofa then sit herself back up so I think the strength is there!
Still not crawling but very very nearly there!!

Well, I think this is my last attempt to bump this thread.
It's such a shame it keeps dying off, when the Sept, Nov and Dec threads are going so strong!
:(

well nix still cant wave or calp his hands .. he waves with his whole arm so thats close enough !!

-
Wow, walking round the furniture already!
I suppose I have more time to post as Kirsten still is just rolling! :)

Hi All,
Poppy is all over the place! She gets this run-craw thing happening and darts all over the house! She is walking around furniture, climbing on and over things and climbing up stairs!!! Its funny to watch her sometimes, she forgets she can't walk yet and lets go of the lounge and tries to go somewhere... Falls over, of course, sits on the floor, laughs and shakes her head! She is such an active little thing! We cut our fourth tooth yesterday and i think there is another one there this morning but she wont let me look. She can clap her hands and started waving only yesterday! She cracks me up... She has started to "meow" at our cat! She's seen and heard him do it and now when she sees him she starts up. She's been doing most of these things for a while now, she's a clever little thing... but she still wont sleep through the night... I think i was up about 6 times last night. Changed her nappy, i feed her, i sang to her, made sure she was warm.... i can't work out why she wakes up so much, she laughs when i walk in so she's not in pain. I'm starting to think the more active she is, the more she wants to play! it doesn't matter what time of the night it is.
I almost died the other morning when i looked over at her standing on the seat of her bike/walker with her hands on the TV talking to the weather guy from the today show!!! Little monkey! I just walked over very quietly and took her off. Thank god she hasn't done it again! I had only just taken her out of her high chair after breakfast and went into the kitchen to wash up... She got up there so quickly.
Not looking forward to the weekend, we are moving house. With Poppy getting into everything its been fun packing! But i'm just trying to work out the best plan of attack with her sleeps, the moving truck, cleaning the house and feeds. Oh well, it'll all work out in the end! We are moving in with my folks for a couple of months, just until we can move into our new place!!
Anyway, i better get back to the packing while the lady is sleeping!
Its so good to read the post when everyone gets a chance to do so. Sorry its few and far between for my posts... With Poppy, running my hairdressing salon (and tax time) my Dad having really bad heart problems, friends having babies, looking for a new house, packing, washing and the rest of the house work... And all with limited sleep...God no wonder i'm tired hehehehehehe LOL!
Take care everyone!
-
poppy is doing really well by the sounds of things ! they are on the go the moment they wake up .. and nix doenst sleep through the night either ..so your not alone .. nix went through a time of separation anxiety ... but suddenly has stopped it ! dont know what happened there ...
last night he had v & D poor thing .. all over his bed and his grobag ... so he came into bed with us ..and we slept in till 10.15
ahhh a bit of sleep at last
-
Hi girls!
sorry i havent been around. Been quite busy here with charlie always getting into things and Lily being a normal 2 year old! we've also bought a lot of new furniture and have been moving things around and getting rid of a lot of stuff, so that take up heaps of time too.
charlie has started waving this week, but like Nixon, it's his whole arm!
-
Kirsten sat up on her own for the first time...!!!
I am so relieved..I know its much later than other babies, even though she was born at 36 weeks so I had been a bit worried (even though she is making determined crawling attempts!)
We sat her up on her changing table as there were no distractions, and she sat there quite happily for ages. She only started to topple sideways when she tried to reach over the side for things (this is why she doesn't sit well I think, she is too curious!!)
Phew!
Marion
x
-
Marion, that is great news that Kirsten sat on her own! Well done Kirsten!!
-
Thanks Tegan!
Of course we tried to do it last night and she wouldn't but she was about 1 min from going to sleep so I think we can let her off!
:)
-
Is anyone still out there? This feels like my own personal thread!
How are you all?
Kirsten had her assessment by the child development physio yesterday.
She thinks she IS behind where she would expect in some areas but that she is improving all the time and will catch up. Her sitting has already improved enormously in last few weeks with some practice.
She is concerned as she still has a tiny bit of head lag when pulled to sitting but even in the last week it has all but disappeared so hopefully she is getting there just a wee bit slowly.
She said everything else is normal, her movements are in normal range and equal on both sides etc, so she doesn't think she has a disability, which is a relief.
She has an appointment with the paediatrician in 3 weeks and hopefully he will say the same thing!!
Now we have to work on her sitting and standing, she will only take a tiny bit of weight on her feet if you stand her on your knee, but I see this improving too.
Marion
x
-
Yeah where is everyone???
Marion. Good to hear Kirsten is developing her sitting skills. Maybe she just likes to do things in her own time. But it's good to know she doesn't have a disability of any sorts.
Everything is fine here. Charlie is still sleeping beautifully but during the day he is so so cranky! Never wants to be put down. He's getting too heavy to carry!
He's starting to eat toast now and also sandwiches and a bit of minced meat when we have spaghetti. He also likes to eat fruit which is good to see. Lily loves fruit too. i don't where they got it from though as neither me nor DH eat it much.
-
Tegan - is Charlie teething? Kirsten has been very clingy and grouchy since last night and is drooling sooo much, her top teeth are nearly through!
Kirsten LOVES bread and toast too, she has just eaten a whole slice with butter for her breakfast..won't touch cereal but loves bread!
She is not a big fan of fruit, but neither am I!!

hi ladies .. nix has been a grumpy bum too
alwasys cries when he gets put down .... his sleeping patterns have totally changed .. he was sick a bit and just slept when ever.. now he goes to bed at like 9pm and wakes at 12pm and then 2-3amish....
and he is sooo tired during the day he has about 3 naps .... im going mental .. my boy has gone from being a happy baby to a grouchy non conforming one ....
he has learnt to shake his head "no" and does it all the time ... but thats about it in the development stakes ... i feel he is lagging coz hes too tired to do anything .. he sorta waves with his whole arm but isnt close to usuing just his wrist or clapping .....
im getting really bummed about it ... and hes not close to walking either which is good but he never has the energy to pull himself up either .. he used to do it alllllllll the time ..
i really hope this bug/lethargy gets out of him soon... i want my baby back !!!
but i still love him !!
-
Lea - I hope he gets back to normal soon. I'm sure he has just been thrown off by being sick.
Kirsten isn't napping much at ALL at the moment, and waking a bit during night and she is permanently exhausted and grumpy too! It's hard to see them like that!
I'm sure he will get back to his old self soon!
I bet he is developing loads but is just too tired to show you any new tricks, he will surprise you when he is feeling better!

Hi everyone,
Im new to this site and thought i would jump on here and say hi. My little man - Levi was born on the 25th of October in Townsville.
Wow where do i start  Well he has 6 teeth 4 up top and 2 down bottom, he has been crawling since he was just short of 6 months and is now walking around the furniture. Not really looking forward to him working out that he can do it with out holding onto everything gees i will really have my hands full then.
Well he has been saying dad dad for what seems like for ever and today he finally started saying mum mum. what a special moment that was.
DH works in the mines so is away for 9 days at a time. He has been doing that for about 6 months now and the last week or so has been the toughest. Just think it has just caught up to me. My hat goes off to any single mums out there thats for sure. Levi and I have both been sick too just with the darn cold but we are both on the mend thankfully.
I have been very lucky and have a very easy going bub. He has slept through since he was about 5 weeks old and is just such a placid baby (well not so much a baby anymore) Gees they grow up so quickly dont they.
Well thats all i can think of at the moment cant wait to chat to you all soon and get to know you and bubs
-
Hello and welcome!
It's great to have a new addition to the group,it has been so quiet recently!
Levi sounds like he is developing really well, won't be long until he is running around! It's lovely he said "Mum"..Kirsten also said it today for first time, while looking at me, it was really special!
It's great he is so placid too, and sleeping through, that must help if you are having to manage on your own a lot of the time!

Yeah i was surprised on how quite this thread is. I am a member on another forum and our October thread on there i started in January has about 1200 post and thats about 82 pages so we are real chatter boxes
Ye i think i am very lucky to have a good bub cause i dont know how i would have been able to handle it if he was and i was doing it on my own.
Levi slept till 8am this morning wow! He normally wakes no later then 7.30 and thats a good day. was great to actually wake up on my own rather then to Levi hahahaha:lol:
Not much happening today just a quite on as DH is home tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day and chat again soon :D
-
We used to be chatty like that, then several people disappeared :(
I rely a lot on my DHs help, by 6pm when he walks in the door I am so ready to hand Kirsten over to him for a while. She is very very lively and on the go all day with hardly any naps so she tires me out!
He is going away for the weekend soon and I am dreading being on my own!
She is good in that she sleeps all night and is very sweet tempered and easy going though, and hardly ever cries (except just now when she is teething). We are lucky!!
8am is a great wake up time. Kirsten varies between 6 and 8, sometimes she will go back to sleep until 930 which is amazing. The night before last she was up at 1, 3 and 5 though!!
Enjoy your DHs time at home!!

Well, time to bump up the thread again.
I wonder how the original posters are doing?..Melanie, Kathryn, Kate, Emma....
I see some of you around on the boards still, wonder if you check this thread?
Kirsten is doing well here, she is now 8kgs (still tiny I know). She can now sit up all afternoon and play, but doesn't seem to have any inclination to try to sit herself up or pull up on anything, or to push up on her hands and try to crawl.
She does seem to have the strength as she can bend down to pick things up and then sit up straight again, but just prefers to lie and look at things carefully, I think she is a scientist in the making!!
I am still struggling with this sprained/strained leg, gets better with rest but the minute i push the buggy or look after Kirsten all day it gets really sore again :(
Marion
x
-
Marion, i do know that Kate and Emma don't come on BB much(if at all) anymore. Have you been to the doctor about your leg?
Charlie is doing well. I think he said 'hello' to be today, well it certainly sounded like it! Another tooth came through the other day, so now he has 8. He's just learnt how to drink out of a sippy cup and scoffs the whole thing in one go nearly lol. Lily never learnt how to, she just went straight from bottle to cup amazingly.
I can't believe his 1st birthday is only 2 months away!(i also cant believe Lily is nearly 3!) Better start planning something soon.
-
That's a shame they don't come on..I hope they are all doing well!
I have been to the Dr, have a follow up hospital appointment this week, and a physio appointment, the problem is that it would heal with rest but I keep having to do too much I think!!
It's lovely when they say hello isn't it...Kirsten keeps saying "mama" but we are pretty sure she is trying to ask for milk! I thought they usually say "Dada" first but she can't say that yet..DH is not happy!
I should try her with the sippy cup again, she couldn't manage it before. She is now feeding herself pretty well so maybe its time. She loves her bottle though!
Wow, 8 teeth, Kirsten has 5, but I'm sure another 3 are on the way!!
Have you got any ideas for his 1st birthday party?? Not sure what we will do here.
Good luck with the TTC. We are thinking about no 2 but I would have to be able to afford to leave work as my mum is not up to looking after 2 kids! I can't wait too long though I suppose, being older.
My friend just had her second on Friday..another boy..Kirsten is surrounded by boys and boy cousins!

Hi Girls
Thought I would drop in and say hello !!
An Ashton update
2 teeth, approx 8kg, and this last week has had conjunctivitis, tonsillitis, and an ear infection.
He still is not sitting up by himself, and he definitely isn't crawling. He does however clap his hands and wave bye bye. Not overly worried with the other stuff since he was premmie. Definitely in no rush for him to be crawling LMAO.
Lachlan only started sitting up by himself at 9mths, but Kameron was 6mths.
I hope everyone else is keeping well. I am on BB all the time, but always forget to check this thread LOL. I don't subscribe to it as I have other stuff coming into my inbox too, so it fills up quickly.
Love
-
Sorry Ashton hasn't been well!
Wow, 8kgs, the same as Kirsten! How are the solids going?
Kirsten can only just sit there when we plonk her down in a sitting position, but can't get herself up there yet either. I do agree they get round to things more slowly even though they were only 4 weeks early, she seems 4 weeks behind and then a wee bit more, they probably have had to work harder since they have to catch up!
No hurry for the crawling either, rolling around the floor is enough for me to deal with just now!!
Marion
x
-
Not too bad with the solids, he still wont eat anything overly chunky so we are still on the really pureed stuff. He does eat 2 weetbix for breakfast though that he scoffs.
Ashton still isn't even sitting there when we put him down he falls straight over.
Love
-
Kathryn, sorry to hear Ashton has been unwell. It's not nice is it? Charlie has just gotten over his 3rd bought of giardia in 2 months, plus had an ear infection and virus about 4 weeks ago.
well i wish charlie didn't crawl lol he and lily get into so much mischief! Charlie sits really well and can go from sitting to kneeling, sitting to crawling etc, i dont think he's near walking though he dont like it much because hes fast at crawling so likes that better.
For his 1st birthday we'll be inviting a few of our friends and also maybe some little kids from preschool but im not sure if should because i dont know the parents? but we dont know many people around here. I'm going to make him a thomas the tank cake though which will be fun, i love making cakes! I have already bought his presents too(did that along with Lily's bday gifts and the xmas presents, we always buy them in july at the sales)
ETA: forgot to say i have no idea of charlies weight but i think its around 11kgs lol. hes a big boofa but its all muscle! He loves his food though. we've started giving him arrowroot bikkies and he eats minced meat and has half a banana to himself lol.
-
Kathryn - Thats great about the weetabix. Kirsten will not eat any type of cereal for brekkie, but she does love to chew bits of bread and butter with banana/cream cheese. She still prefers the pureed stuff too, especially when she is teething!!!
I'm sure he will be sitting soon. A few weeks ago Kirsten couldn't sit at all, then she could for a few seconds and within a week or so she could sit for a long time!! I think she was late to it because we had never really bothered to prop her up, she seemed to skip the leaning on hands stage and then went straight to the being able to sit with no hands for ages, Ashton will probably be the same! Apparently I didn't crawl but just got up one day and walked too, so maybe she will be like that.
I am dreading Kirsten's first proper illness, so far she has only had a few off days, probably because she doesn't have brothers and sisters to bring bugs home!!
Tegan - I have also been buying my Xmas pressies in the sales already!!
A party sounds like a great way to get to know parents from the preschool. I think we might get a group of parents and kids together and go to the Zoo for her birthday, IF the weather is good enough, which is a big maybe here in October!
You'll have to post a piccie of the finished cake!
Marion
x
-
We aren't doing a big party for Ashton. Just immediate family and close friends. Nobody from playgroup/kindy/school etc.
We are the same and have all his b/day presents already thanks to the Target toy sale. We also have Kameron's 6th birthday just 2wks later so if we didn't do it all early money would be getting tight by then.
Love
-
That's the reason we buy all the presents early because Charlie's b'day is October and Lily's is 2 weeks before Christmas!
-
Hi Ladies,
Well Tegan, Levi sounds just like Charlie. He is into everything. He crawls so fast and walks along furniture gees i cant even remember the days when he use to just lie there. Oh im sure those were the days hahahaha:lol:
Levi is a big eater too he loves his food. He has just started holding his own bottle this week which is handy i can do stuff now while he is drinking his bottle. He also has a sippy cup with a straw which he has his lunch bottle in it. He also has a water one that just stays on the floor with him and he just crawls up to it and picks it up and drinks when he feels like it.
Levi is about the 11 and a half kgs at the moment but he is tall like DH and not really a chubba bub.
OMG i havent even started thinking about the 1st birthday yet....think im in denial that he will be 1 soon
Well hope all is well with everyone
Chat soon :D
-
Wow Levi does sound like Charlie lol! Charlie is tall too. When we was 9 months he was the size of a 12 month old! Lily is tall too, everyone thinks she is 4 because she looks it, but she is only nearly 3. I got asked once if she was going to school next year lol i'm like, no she is only 2!
-
hahaha yeah people always ask how old Levi is and most are shocked when i tell them. I dont mind i know his healthy and all good. As im sure you all know people are always quick to give you their 2c worth of opinions and stuff :D
Well best be off need sleep as im not feeling 100% at the moment.

Its lovely they are so close!!

Genevieve - hope you feel better soon! Hope Levi is letting you rest a little...sounds like he keeps you busy! I am torn between wanting Kirsten to crawl and dreading it!!
Kate - Glad you are finally getting some sleep! And also great to hear Rylee's reflux is better! You have both had a hard time of it!! Hope she has a lovely birthday when it comes too!

hey ladies .. all this sickness must be driving every one crazy.. it has made me crazy ..
nixon is going fab now ..sits really well on his own and acctually slows down and sits to play with a toy rather than barge right past it while cramling .. and standing up holding on to this and saying NO is his fave game ...
me and dh shaved his head the other day .. he loved it and we saved his hair ... awww what a moment
