Hi guys,
Well we are getting better thankfully. DH was home to look after us which was nice and it gave me a break and a chance to sleep in. I hate winter!!!!
We have our lounge room area barricaded so Levi cant get any where but here cause boy he can move fast. i dont mind him crawling its fun and he is such a character. Im not looking forward to him walking thats for sure. That one can wait till he is 1 hahaha OMG thats not that far away is it....
Well best be off need my sleep more then ever these days.
Chat soon
Hi, I’m new to posting here (but I’ve been hanging around lurking for a while).
I’m Rachel and my DS Angus is nearly 10 months. He’s still breastfeeding heaps (I don’t know how many times a day). He had only just started eating solids well and some days he’ll go off them completely, still no teeth yet. He’s crawling, pulling up and cruising and getting into all kinds of mischief.
DH and I are renovating his room so he co-sleeps with us at the moment. As much as I love the snuggles I am really looking forward to getting our bed back. He also wakes 2 hourly and I’m not sure how much longer I can survive the sleep deprivation. I have the hope that when we put him in his cot in his own room he’ll be really happy and sleep really well, but I’m sure we have a tough few weeks (or months or years) ahead of us. His room is still a few weeks away from being ready.
So, hello to you all and your bubs.
Hello and welcome Rachel!
It's so nice to have another member of our group!
That is a lovely pic of your son!
I'm sure he will sleep much better when in his own room, my daughter won't sleep much when we are around as she loves our company too much! Waking 2 hourly must be so exhausting..Kirsten usually sleeps through for 10-11 hours, she woke last night once at 430am and that was tiring enough so you must be really shattered, especially if he is very lively during the day :( ..hope it improves soon!
She has also just started really enjoying solids, I think they just set their own pace!
He is doing really well with the cruising, Kirsten has only just started sitting up, she is taking her time but getting there at her own speed!
Genevieve..glad you are feeling better..Levi sounds so cute with the crawling, I was watching some twins crawling about a cafe we were in yesterday and they were having great fun..their parents were frazzled though!!

Welcome to BellyBelly Rachel.
Still the same old with us. Ashton is finally over his severe chest infection that he has had. We had to have chest xrays last week to rule out pnuenomia which was ruled out thankfully. So he was put on strong Antibiotics just to kick it once and for all as normal ABs didn't do much for him and he is alot better now.
He is getting his knees under him alot more now, so crawling might only be a month or less away. Just has to work out how to put it all together.
Love
Kathryn - glad Ashton is better at last!
Sounds like it won't be long before he is zipping around. Kirsten gets her knees up under her but can't quite lift herself up with her arms yet, I know its usually the other way round, so not quite sure what is happening with that!!
Marion
x
that sounds similiar to Ashton Marion. 9 times out of 10 when he gets his knees under him he is still has his forearm flat on the ground. Has been the odd occasion that he has pushed himself up onto his hands as well.
Love
It's good to know she isn't the only one doing that!
I think once they get the hang of pushing up with their arms there will be no stopping them!!
Kirsten just usually has a toy in her hands at all times so doesn't want to be wasting time pushing up with her hands!!

Hi,
Thanks for all your welcomes.
Marion – I’m sure you’ve heard it before but all babies are different, still it is hard not to compare. Angus has absolutely no signs of teeth and that worries me, but I know that’s silly and it shouldn’t worry me at all. Just enjoy the time you have while Kirsten is stationary, she’ll be into everything before you know it.
I don’t know how I cope with the sleep deprivation. I know some days are better than others. I worry because prolonged sleep deprivation is dangerous. Oh well, hopefully a good night’s sleep is getting closer now.
Kathryn – I’m very glad Ashton doesn’t have pneumonia.
Hi to you Genevieve as you are new too.
Hope all you other mums and bubs are well too.
Angus is making the funniest "speech" noises at the moment, but he doesn’t know what he's saying. He says MaMa and DaDa but he doesn’t associate them with us (yet). He knows his name and he comes when I call him kind of like a little dog. I feel a bit mean treating him like dog, well not really, but I do find it kind of funny that he comes when I call him and he does a few basic tricks just like a dog. He understands what NO means, DH taught him that.
LOL @ Angus and the dog story Rachel. Too cute.
Ashton knows his name as well. he has been Mr. Grumpy Pants tonight we think the top two teeth might be making a move the gums looked very swollen tonight.
Love
lol @ dog story , i know what you mean ... nixon used to say mum but not any more .. he just babbels ... he is a fairly quiet baby but very indpendant ...
he pulls himself up on everything and is at the stage where he tries to stand up on his own ... i just expect him to up and toddle , like come on we do it all day .. its not that hard ....
but i guess it is for them .. hehe..
but he going well and thankfully sleeping better and wev'e finally cut out the 2am bottle ....
although he woke last night we left him in his cot to talk to him self ... which he did for about 3 hrs ..
he is really tired today ... we all are ... dh has a cold and kept coughing all night and making flemmy noises ..... and I was up talking on the big white telelphone .....
now my mum is looking after nix and he has a slight temp and pulling at his ear .... here we go again...
have a good day everyone
Thanks Rachel..I'm sure she will be fine..she has an appt with the paediatrician tomorrow, is just a follow up as she had a flat head on one side for a while, which has fixed itself (phew) so hopefully he will set our minds at rest even more!! I hope she won't need any tests, I don't think so, and the physio didn't! I definitely am glad she is stationary at the moment, as I have badly sprained my knee and thigh and slipped a disk in my back, which is taking ages to heal, probably because of all the lifting!
Our friends little boy didn't get any teeth until 18 months, then they all came in at once, I work at a dentist's and have seen quite a few kids Angus' age with no teeth yet..I'm sure they are lurking there!
Kathryn - hope the teeth have made their appearance without too much pain by now!!
Lea - Glad Nixon is back to his old self, despite the teething, hope you all feel better soon! I'm sure he will just up and walk one day..I did that apparently, no crawling or pulling up, just got up and was away..I was 11 months old I think..so Kirsten obviously takes after her daddy!!

mmack.. hope you get better soon ....
its like me and dh have tickets to a show .. every night we sit on the couch watching nixon, to see what he'll do next ....
we cant take our eyes off him and get really excited when he does something and behave like some footy team has scored a try right in the last 5 secs.....
but he prob wont walk if we are watching ... *sigh* guess i'll have to leave him unattended then ... NOT
Marion – I hope the paed appointment was good and that everything is fine (I’m sure it was). Geez your body sounds like it needs a good lie down for a week or two. Oh well, forget about that it’s not going to happen! I am in no hurry for teeth as I still BF heaps (although I know teeth shouldn’t stop BF, the reality is that sometimes they do).
Lea – we loving watching Angus too. From the moment he came out I have just loved staring at him. I just can’t believe how in love with him I am. That is a very cute pic of Nixon BTW.
Kathryn – I hope Mr Grumpy Pants is happier today.
Thanks Rachel. The appointment was fine, he said she was perfect and coming on well, he said some babies are just slower than others to get to crawling and walking. He did say he thought she had slightly lower muscle tone so has to work harder than others to do things, but that he thought she would grow out of it, especially since we are seeing improvements all the time. So he has discharged her, but the physio is to keep an eye on her. It was the best we could hope for really!!!
I will get a lie down today, as her granny is taking her out, I will so enjoy it!!

Hay guys sorry to go MIA lately. I accidently deleted my reminder thingies so thought no one was replying hahahaha.
Well Levi is doing well we have tooth number 7 nearly through and i dont think number 8 will be too far away either. He is still cruising the furniture. and he has worked out how to throw things. A bit of his play area is tilled and he gets his littla plastic ball and throws it so it bounces around the tiles then goes and gets it and throws it again. pretty funny to watch.
I have started oraginsing his 1st birthday this week. I cant believe he is 10 months old and only 2 months till he is the bug 1. Gees where has the year gone???
Well gotta go the little bean is awake.

Hello, how is everyone?
DH and I have both got horrible gastro...we couldn't agree who was sickest so we are taking it in turns to look after kirsten while the other one sleeps!
Hope she doesn't get it now but I think she probably will :(
She is happy and playful today though!!

well after a week at the ellen barron centre , nixon doesnt use his dummy !! and he slept through twice !! the other nights he woke but go himself back to sleep,
i have just caught him trying to stand up from a sitting position... and not holding on to any thing
!!!! eeeekkkk
oh yeah .. how embarrasising .. nixon was the fattest baby there at the family centre ....
Marion thats not good that you have both been sick. Lets hope that kirsten doesnt get it. Hope you feel better soon.
Lea thats good that the Ellen Barron Centre was a great help to you. Have heard so many differing stories about the place. How big is Nixon??? Bet Levi will give him a run for his money hehehehe
Well just a quick visit. Footy is on :)
nixon is 10.9 kg and just over 10mths !!!
he may be "on track" but every one had to point it out ...
how big is levi ??
Wow, where did all this chatter come from? There were no posts for a while so I forgot to keep checking up in here, and now I've missed heaps LOL!! Well, welcome to the newies and good to hear that things are going well Kat, Marion and Lea.
Tom took his first steps this week. Jack was walking at 9 1/2 months, so I'm relieved Thomas hasn't done that. I have mixed feelings about this - I really am excited that he's doing it, but given that he's probably my last, it's a bit sad too. He seems so grown up now.
Lea, don't worry about Nixon being a big baby. Charlie got weighed last week and was 10.6kg. I think it's good because if they get sick(which charlie has been a lot lately) they have enough fat on them if they dont eat much for a while. Better than having a real light baby and them being sicker because they're not eating.
yeah thanks tegan ,,, i love nixs rolypoly body ..
i could just eat him up ..
melanie .. .up and walking .. im torn i want nix to walk but deep down i love the way he cralws and leaves a snail trial of dribble on the floor ....
oh and nix has learnt to kiss ... you say kiss and he heads towards you mouth wide open and tounge out ... sooo cute
Thanks Genevieve - we are both feeling better and she is still fine so I am pretty hopeful she hasn't caught it!!
Nixon sounds great, and they are all different...my friends baby was enormous and now is a slim toddler!
Kirsten is only 8.2kgs, I get embarrassed as she is always the SKINNIEST baby in a room!!
That's great Tom is walking, but I understand you are torn about it Melanie.
Well done Nixon on the kisses, that sounds so cute! I kiss Kirsten all the time but she is always too busy looking at stuff to take much notice!!!
I think Kirsten is concentrating on her speaking rather than the physical stuff, she now "speaks" all the time and has a few words. Actually she also just started slightly lifting her head and shoulders up off the floor, and is now starting to catch herself and push back up to sitting when she falls over from a sitting position so she is coming along, just at her own slow pace!! She can also get her bottom up off the floor but not her front half but she is getting there!!

Well Levi was weighed about a week or so ago and weighed.....wait for it....11.6kgs:lol: Hes not a fat bubba he is tall. But everyone always comments on how bighe is. When im out they ask how old he is and when i tell them they always say wow hes a big boy then. Had had this almost from birth but he was born 8 and a half pounds which i thought was pretty normal size really. But as you have all said would rather a bit of meat on them.
Wow thats great that Tom is walking. Levi has let go of the couch a couple of times and not realised he is standing there on his own but when he realises he sits down hahahaha. Im in no hurry for Levi to be walking. He has been crawling since he was 5 and a half months so i want to keep some of my sanity for a bit longer please hehehehe
So what is everyone doing for Fathers Day this Sunday??? We arent doing anything cause DH is away for it but I got Levi to do a painting for him which we gave to DH before he left and he loved it. Levi loved doing the painting too. I was a bit unsure how he would go but it all worked out well. Here are some pics

And the finished master piece....

Marion – I’m very glad the paed appointment went well. That’s great that Kirsten has made progress recently. Yay! Also great to hear that you and your DH are better and that DD seems to have escaped the bug.
Lea – It seems that Nixon is in good company here. I haven’t had Angus weighed since he was 7 months but he was 10.2kg then. He started crawling at 8 months and he hasn’t put much weight on since so he’s probably right there with Nixon.
Genevieve – Wow Levi is a fatty boom-bah! I agree with Tegan, better to be fatter than thin at this stage in their lives, gives them a bit of a buffer if they’re sick.
Melanie – Wow what early walkers you have there.
Angus finally got his very first tooth the other day. A bottom one. I am so proud (isn’t that silly, like I have any control of when he gets his teeth). He is fine, it hasn’t bothered him at all. I guess all babies are different, some really struggle with teething and others hardly notice.
We are having a relos day for father’s day tomorrow. Angus has all his grandparents and all his great-grandparents too (yes all 8 of them). He is a very lucky boy and there will be a whole lotta love out there tomorrow.
Yeah Levi has just got tooth #8. The first 2 teeth were the best cause we had no problems at all with them didnt even know he was teething hahahaha but the rest havent been that bad just a bit whingy and grumpy but the good old Nurofen does the trick ;)
Well Hope you are all having a great Fathers Day and dads love all their gifts.
Chat later
well dh did nt get anything for fathers day , he didnt want anything ... hes not much of a presnt kinda guy ... but i will do something nice later tonight for him ...
sounds like most bubbas have a bit of meat on them ... at least when ppl look at me they can tell where nix gets it from ... lol
Just as well Kirsten didn't get the gastro since she has no spare fat! :)
Glad you all had a nice Father's Day..it was in June here!
Marion
nixon is teething so bad ... i can see 4 white bump s ....4 teeth at once poor bubba !!
he also had a fall and cut his gums .... it was scary to see .. but like all other babies his age .. he into everything and gotta have it !!
but we took him to the hosp and hardly had to wait .... he was safe and wasnt too hurt , just a bit of brusing ...
emma ... i kwym by having a good sleep routine .. teeting stuffs it up !!
we recently came back from sleep school ... now is all come undone .. he has his dummy back and wakes several times a night ..
im so knackered !!
Hey Emma! Wit the runny nose, Charlie has one too and he's teething at the moment so it could be that. He's not sick, just a constant runny nose. So i would say it is to do with the teething.
Hi all just thought I would pop in and say hello, sounds like everyone is going along well.
Jack is now cruzin the funiture and stands with one hand so not long and he will be off and walking he is so funny when he is crawling if I ask him where he is going he seeds up trying to take off, he now has two teeth and more on the way.
Jessica has been a little slower in getting going she has just learnt to komando crawl in the last month or so she has been having phisio for the last three to four months as she wouldn't use her hands because her sholders seemed to be pulled back we think because she was born breech that something happend at the birth, Jessica goes for a scan on her head next friday her head is growing at a faster rate than the rest of her body its not that noticeable only to us or when she sits realy close to Jack so hears hoping she just has a big head and there is nothing wrong, she also has two teeth that she likes to show off constantly.
Jean
gawd ... dont you think the doctors would get it right the 1st time !!!
we have been half co sleeping due to teething .. and he now has his dummy back :(
he is inconsolable at the early hours and dh and i couldnt bee stuffed shusuhing him back to sleep ..
but this morning he woke about 4 am . we put him into bed with us and he did not go back to sleep .. just sat up and pulled at my hair and poking me in the eyes
dh got up at 5 and i told him to give him a big bottle and back to his own bed !! then he slept till 8.30
he also loves cutting out his arvo nap ... but i dont ... he gets cranky ....
Hi Emma – nice to meet you, I am fairly new around here. Lovely to hear about your man, you sound so happy. Poor Gabby with her nappy rash, I hope it gets better very, very soon for her (and you). Gabby and Angus share their birthday (and we share the anniversary of when we became Mummies)!
Lea – I am very sorry to hear about having to take Nixon to hospital and about his sleeping (or lack of). I know how you feel (more on that later).
Jean – I hope all goes well with Jessica’s scan.
Angus has three teeth, a bottom one and two top ones, I think the other bottom one is coming through now. They have all come in the last 3 weeks. He often only has one day sleep and then every few days he’ll need to catch-up and he’ll have two. His absolute favourite thing in the world at the moment is the microwave.
I know this is a gentle parenting website but we are about to do the dreaded controlled crying here. Angus wakes every two hours, sometimes hourly and we are wrecked. We have tried everything, sharing a room, sharing a bed, breastfeeding back to sleep and nothing is working for us as a family so we are going to give CC a try. I am following the instructions exactly as written by Robin Barker in her book Baby Love. I think it is really important not to give babies mixed messages, either you respond to them quickly or you don’t and then they learn to go back to sleep by themselves. If it takes more than 4 nights I’ll give up and reassess.
I think leaving a baby to cry is just so wrong but I feel like I don’t have a choice, the situation at the moment is intolerable and can’t go on. And I truly believe that in a happy, loving, well balanced home this is just what has to happen so that we can all function again.
Tonight’s the night, I’ll let you know how we all go.
Great to see so much activity in here!
Welcome back Emma, sounds like Gaby is doing wonderfully! So happy to hear about the lovely new man too!
Not feeling so great here..after saying Kirsten didn't get the gastro last time, she got a different gastro bug and then gave it to us after throwing up on us for 3 days..now she is fine and I feel horrible!! She also has a runny nose and cough and won't eat solids, who knows if its a cold or teething!!!
Glad all the babies are coming on so well!
Kirsten is still going at her own slow pace,..she stood straight up on my lap for the first time the other day, which is great. Not crawling yet, she just cant get her chest up and lean on her hands, but she can practically stand with her back end, so she just pitches forward. She can now sit up all day and catches herself properly with her hands when she falls sideways too, which is an improvement. Hopefully she will get there soon!
Rachel - I totally understand why you feel you have to do anything to stop the lack of sleep. I don't function at all on no sleep. Hopefully it will resolve quickly for you!
Jean - good luck with Jessica's scan!
Lea - Glad Nixon wasn't too badly hurt!!
Will post more when I feel less yuk!
Marion

Well he’s asleep. The crying went for 30 minutes which I think is good, apparently 2 hours is not uncommon for the first night. Hopefully it will only be 5 minutes tomorrow and 0 minutes the day after that.
Kirsten – I’m sorry you’re feeling so yuck. So good to hear about Kirsten’s movement progress but tell us more about her words. I’m sure you told us that she can say a few things. Angus doesn’t have any words or noises that mean things yet (he babbles all the time though).
Rachel : dont worry too much abuout the crying ... nix was about 10mths old and still taking a bottle at 2 am .. we decided to go cold turkey as cutting back didnt help ..
he cried for about 2 hrs the 1st night and about 30 mins the next night ...
its hard for the 1st few nights but soon you will have him sleeping ..
if you comfort him and let him know you are near its OK ...
the 1st few night while nix was screaming i held him in my arms in the rocking chair or couch till he fell asleep ...
it was better than bending over the bloody cot and straining my back ...
this way i could hold him while he cried , but didnt give in to giving him a bottle ..
currently i am waiting on the house call doctor , to see weather nixon has pox !! dh swears they are and i have no clue .. they are pussy cruncy spots all over his head ( bout 15 ) on one on his bum and 2 on his back ,
he was quite sick last week . vom and dia with no appetite .... so i dont know what it is
i get disheartend when nixon is un well makes me think im a **** mum , and am grotty and dirty ..
nixon is the only baby out of my mums group who constantly has something wrong with him ..
oh and nix doesnt have many words either .... dad dad comes out alot .. its probably all hes got .. but he does this adorable pointing at everything ... aww its just so cute .... and if you ask him something the answer is always "NO" by shaking his head
Rachel - that's great, I hope it gets less and less for you every night! Kirsten's latest word is "teddy"..well "teh - deh" ..she says it to the wooden teddy bear we have on our fireplace!! She also calls me "mummy", says "dadda" and "yes", (she says "yes" to any question you ask her, or if you call her name!!) "no" (luckily not too often) and says "mil mil" for milk! Her favourite word is "hello" though, she says it to anyone she sees when we are out, and waves to them!
Lea- Sorry Nixon is sick again. It does sound like he might have chickenpox, I know they can be unwell for a few days before the rash comes out. If it is, I suppose its good for him to get that over with early, as I think it gets worse as they get older! I'm sure it doesn't at all mean you are grotty and dirty if he is sick, I think things just come one after another sometimes, they don't get time to recover before another bug takes hold while they are low. Kirsten has just had a cold and tummy bug at same time!
We just took her to doctor but it was a bit embarrassing as she was talking away and leaping around in the surgery, so she is obviously fine. I was just a bit worried as she hasnt been able to keep solids down for about 5 days but the doctor said she will be fine with just milk and she is obviously on the mend!! Glad we got the reassurance I suppose!!

Hi all. Welcome back Emma, great to hear from you, I've been wondering how you are going. Sorry to hear about all the sick babies and mummies! I have to keep this short as I am working today!
Tom will be one on Tuesday. I can't believe it's been a year already. Still not quite walking, taking steps here and there but prefers to be holding on to something or crawling. He has a few words - mummy, daddy, nanny, ta, bwudda (brother), pop (from pop goes the weasel), cat and a few others. He is starting to transition down to one day sleep (and Jack is working very hard on dropping day time sleeps altogether - ggggrrrrr).
Hopefully I'll be able to catch up properly soon. Take care all.
Hey everyone
been a long while between visits again :)
just thought i would pop in with a Cooper update while i was thinking of it
He is now around 10kgs, has 4 teeth, he is nearly walking, he walks holding your hand but not that steady as yet, he walks along the walls with no trouble though, he says mum, bub, ta, car he is now copying what we say too, Mason was yelling whats that to everything on the tv screen, so cooper went and stood in front of tv yelling whats that lol, but he doesnt do it by himself, its funny though, he said what is it to a game we were playing earlier
He refuses to say Dad though lol, i have heard him say it here and there but when DH says say Daddy he just laughs at him lol, love his style :)
Asked him if he wanted vegetables the other day and he shook his head no lol
Everyone has gone through the sickness this winter so that was horrible, slowly the weather is coming to be nice more often than bad so we are getting out more
Cant believe its nearly the first birthdays already!!
hope that everyone is going well and i will pop in again sometime soon :)
Emma: Glad to read that you have found someone who you are happy with :)
