Hiya Girls
kate - I am glad to hear that things are getting worked out for Rylee. I hope the waiting lists you need to go on aren't too long for you. LOL @ impressing a doctor too. Go Girl
Belinda - Can I come to sydney too LOL *jealous*
I don't take our kids to swimming lessons. Bad mummy I know, but at nearly $20.00 per child per lesson for the one closest to us it really is too expensive. If they want children to learn to swim, so they should make lessons affordable.
On the Ashton front. another 9 hrs last night put him down at 10pm and he woke at 7am, so I think I can offically say he is sleeping through

9 hours........what??.......thats great Kathryn! Holy crap at your swimming lessons at being nearly $20 they are only $9 here. BTW congrats on getting mod of the year! I voted for you as you have impressed me so much with how busy you are juggling everything, surprised you get time to sleep!LOL and the fact that you are such a wonderful, caring person( and make me laugh my a$$ off with some of your comments!!). If we hadn't had our bubs in the same month I never would have had the privledge of getting to know you better.
-
Awww thankyou Kirsty, you just made me go all goosebumpy and teary.
If our swimming lessons were only $9 I'd definitely be taking the tribe!!

Well we got back from our holiday in Goulburn today. It rained almost every day we were there! They had more in a week then they have had in 6 months. i reckon all the farmers would have been happy. We also went to Canberra. Jacob wanted to see the war memorial and we also went to see an Egyptian exhibition. Was a great holiday. I really needed it. I'm so tired from the 5 hour drive though. Charlie is still sleeping though. Although Lily is being more of a brat! Having major tantys and won't ever listen. Didn't do much on new years. Just a few drinks and watched the fire works on tv, which i though were not very good. Looking forward to a better year this year, i hope!

Hello all!
Very quick post, am sneaking on inlaws computer!
So glad I am going home tomorrow, am getting very sick of being told "you should let her cry, dont feed her straight away" etc..I don't know why relatives feel they have to say this, but its particularly annoying coming from inlaws!
More soon when I get home tomorrow!

Urgh Marion what a PITA. We had really hot weather about 2wks before xmas and my MIL tried telling me to give Ashton cold boiled water !! I said "um hello i am breastfeeding so he needs nothing else" should have heard her argue the point. I ended up printing stuff of the net stating that breastfed babies do not need water till 6mths of age just to shut her up.
I feel like I have been hit by a mack truck today. Ashton woke up screaming at 3am. After sleeping thru for 2 weeks I have really felt it LOL. Can't say I blame him though cause it was bloody hot last night so he probably wanted a drink.

Tom has also been unsettled the last two days. And it's his Christening on Sunday so I'm likely to be very busy tomorrow and Sunday. I'll try and catch up on Monday. Hope everyone is well. I hope you enjoy your escape from FIL Marion. Welcome back Tegan. Hope you're getting some sleep Kate. Congrats Kathryn, well deserved. Kirsty, looks like you I are still in the "baby doesn't sleep through the night club". Hi Belinda, hope things are settling down for you. Who have I missed?
-
Hey girls
Tegan-Glad you had a good time away. I was starting to wonder where you had gotten to!LOL! I hope 2007 brings you and your family so much happiness hun.
Marion-Your inlaws sound like my mum. Argh she drives me up the wall sometimes!!
Kathryn-Jaz stopped sleeping through as of tues night as well and boy did I feel it!LOL! Luckily shes sleeping through again now. I hope Ashton is to.
Melanie-I hope the christening goes well tomorrow.
Kate-OMG where do I begin. You poor thing and poor Kelsey!!I'd be a absolute mess. I can't believe they just let Kelsey vomit and vomit, surely there was something they could give her, poor little poppet. Oh no at you starting to see things and talk in tongues!LOL! I shouldn't laugh but I've been there with Gemma when she was sick and I got literally no sleep for 48 hours when she had gastro then I had gastro. Not fun when they are sick. You always wish you could take the sickness for them. Hope things have settled down at your house now.
Emma-I'm big on swimming lessons too. We grew up in NZ (ruakaka beach and auckland) and we swam alot growing up at the beach. I really want our girls to be confident swimmers.
Well we had an excellent night. After Jasmine stopped sleeping through from tues night last night she slept through YAY. Although she has also been very unsettled these last couple of days. Corey and I are betting its a growth spurt, cause she literally would take half and hour to finish a bottle then an hour she would want another and finish that!
Emma to answer your question about how much 'awake' time and 'sleep' time Jasmine is having, I would say that over this last week I've noticed she likes to be awake alot more thats for sure. Some days she'll only have a couple of 1hour naps and seem to be awake for the rest. It really depends on what I'm doing. If I'm out and about when I get home she'll just sleep and sleep, but on home days like yesterday she probably had 3 naps ranging form 45 mins to 1.5 hours and was awake the rest of the time.
-
Hiya Girls
Kate - OMG you poor girl and poor Kelsey !! I really do hope everything settles down for you soon.
Melanie - Have a fantastic Christening today.
Emma - Ashton doesn't have a routine in the day. He sits in his rocker all day and just sleeps when he wants to and looks around when he is awake. We have tried toys etc for his awake time, but he still is not interested in toys yet. I dont' physically put him to bed he just dozes as he sees fit.
Ashton news -- He is now in his cot . My baby is growing up :crying: 2 nights ago was his first night in there and he woke through the night thanks to Kameron who had actually wet the bed, so I had to deal with that  but last night I put him into his cot at 8.30pm and he woke up at 7.30am this morning. Yes you read that right 11 hours sleep!!
Now I am in process of getting all his basinette stuff together to hopefully sell so it is out of my way LOL.

-
Awww Kathryn!! Thats so sad that he's growing up so quickly!! We keep saying when Jovie sleeps from pm to after 5am we will move her into the shared room with Matilda. I keep thinking how sad it will be when our room is empty of baby gear....
-
It is sad Christy, but I seriously can't wait for some space either LOL. Lachlan is fast growing out of clothes which of course gets passed down to Ashton and Ashton atm just has no room in his room to store them !!

Where is everyone hiding ??
I am tired this morning. Ashton has woken up the last 2 nights again. I have let him go for 15mins but he hasn't been re-settling. He mainly lays there and whinges with the odd cry. So I go in and feed him and he feeds for about 5/10 mins and goes back to sleep.
So I guess a 5/10 min wake up once during teh night for me is pretty good. I am more tired this morning as the other two were up the crack of dawn.

I'm back! It's been a busy few days but hopefully things are starting to settle down. Tom is over the unsettled spell. He has been really good the last couple of days thank goodness. The Christening went really well. The boys were good as gold and we had a lovely day. Yesterday we spent the morning organising the boys' passports for the Vanuatu trip. We had taken our own photos but they were 1.5mm outside there accepted range, so we did the interview then had to go to the GPO to get more photos done. They only took 2 goes to get Jack's but we were there an hour and a half in total getting the photos. They were doing another baby and Thomas and couldn't get the baby ones right. They would either be too far away or too close. In the end they gave us photos that were 1.5 mm outside the accepted range and said to tell them how much trouble we'd had. The passports office did accept them after that, so they probably could have accepted our first ones after all. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least the boys were good for the whole time. Poor Jack sat in the pram the whole time while Thomas had photo after photo taken.
Mum and her DH came for dinner last night as they have left to drive back to Melb this morning. Dad is staying with us still but they got along all right over dinner. Dad leaves Thurs morning and I honestly can't wait to have our house to ourselves for a while. MIL keeps wanting to come round for a swim though, but at least she doesn't stay too long.
Kate, how awful for you. It always seems as though everything happens at once. Surely you have had your run of bad luck for a long time to come. I hope Kelsey is fully recovered now and that you are able to catch up on some rest. I can't believe what a bad time you have had lately. I can totally relate to wanting some uneventful time.
Kathryn, wow at Ashton sleeping so well. It is a little sad when they go into the cot isn't it. Tom is growing up so quickly. He moves all over his cot now. He rolls over, and commando crawls from one end of the cot to the other and spins around so he's facing the other direction.
Kirsty, I'm glad Jas is sleeping through again. Hopefully it will stay that way. When is Gem's first swimming lesson? Oh, did I mention Tom loved his first lesson on Saturday. He's been in our pool twice since too and really loves it. He kicks and paddles like crazy!
Emma, Tom varies from day to day, but is certainly increasing his awake time. I don't think there is a normal as such. Just follow her cues and you'll be right. It's definitely harder second time bcos the baby has to keep getting dragged along with the toddler and doesn't get a chance to follow his own sleeping patterns.
Tegan, I hope you are feeling relaxed after your holiday. How are going now?
Belinda, are you around sweetie?
Marion, I hope you are enjoying being back home. Don't get me started on ILs!!
-
oh Kate!!! Huge sympathy going your way atm. I am covered most of the day with vomit with Jovie and I can't imagine what gastro would be like as well. I hope Rylee steers clear & your BM keeps her healthy!
Its a nasty bug thats been going around heaps... I have known families to get it & be shut down for ages... I hope Kelsey picks up quickly for you!
-
Oh no Kate, you definitely are having a bad trot !! There was a news segment here the other night how Adelaide is in the grips of a bad gastro epidemic. They are blaming the unsual weather we have had/having. I am bracing myself in case Kameron gets it upon the return of kindy. It spreads like wildfire there, and he brought it home last year from Kindy when they went back one time after holidays.
You'd think there would be a vaccination against it by now, but I guess there is too many variations of it all.
Love
-
Oh Kate. I can't believe what a bad time you are having. I really hope Kelsey is ok now and that Rylee stays well.
-
Kate - sorry she is so sick. I hope she improves soon, and Rylee escapes it.
Things are getting back to normal here at last, hubby is back to work today. Kirsten has been a bit unsettled since we got back from the inlaws, she has never been a baby who cries and is hard to console until the last few days. She could be teething or it could be that 12 week growth spurt, she has been feeding a lot. Still keeping up with her with the expressing though!
Was just at the health visitor and she now weighs 10lbs 14oz which is pretty tiny for a 12 week old but a decent gain for her :)
She is also sleeping 7-9.5 hours a night now which is nice!!

Hey girls
Sorry I haven't been in for a while, when on BB I kinda wander around a bit, just a bit lost atm. My lil sis has split from her hubby and they have 3 young girls(5, 2 and 8mths) so she says shes taking it well(she left him or rather has told him to go) but its really scary and I'm basically on 24 hour call for her and the girls. Things are just so weird cause I'm in such a great place in my life and shes about to embark on being single again. They say they are going to have a break for a month first, he moves out monday, but I honestly can't see them getting back together. They are living seperate lives under the same roof and have been for quite a while.
Update on us........Jasmine has stopped sleeping through, she wakes once for a bottle and is normally up around 5am giggling and smiling and squeeling its just so cute! Gem's loving daycare and apparently spends her entire time there fussing over the dolls, checking nappies and feeding them then burping them! Must watch me more than I realise.
Hope everyone is well...........sorry for the selfish post.
-
Selfish away Kirsty :) I do all the time rofl. How cute of Gemma @ daycare.

No I didnt today Emma as Andrew is working back. We are going tomorrow to get Ashton's bank account set up so if I remember I will drop into the chemist on the way home.

Hey girls
Argh a bank account. We've been saying we'd set one up for Gemma for the past 16 months!LOL!We will do it eventually!
Jasmine slept last night from 7pm till 2am, so a good 7 hours sleep!YAY We've decided to set some sort of loose routine so we can atleast have some 'us' time while the girls are in bed.Owww did that sound rude!LOL! Apart from that Jasmine slept soooo well. Not a peep out of her till 2am so am really please.I think I was putting her to bed far to late for her and throwing her out a bit.
Well looks like I'm back at work as of 31st jan.Was supposed to be 5th Feb but work called yesterday and they are short staffed so I said yes. Looks like its only going to be 16 hours a week to start, which suits me.I'm looking at leaving where I am at the moment and have applied else where. One lady that works there gives me the sh$ts.When I was pregnant she tried to get rod of me simply because I'm not a 'yes' person and don't kiss her bum! Those who know me know I'm a very upfront person and nothing and noone throws me, so she hates that.
Anyway its my lil sis's birthday today. Am going to take the girls to see her and try and make it extra special with all thats been happening in her life recently. We are having a do for her tomorrow at our folks.
-
Hello ladies,
Hope you don't mind me joining in havn't been on BB for a while as we just moved house and with xmas and all that stuff, only just got the net back on yesterday.
We have twins Jessica and Jack, Jack is now sleeping from about 9pm till 5am, Jessica is a little bit more unsettled she wakes a lot with wind pains, she just started to dribble a lot in the last couple of days so I hope she is not getting teeth already #2 got 4 teeth at four months so that could be interesting.
Both bubs are going for aultrasound scans on thier hips on tues 16th because they were both deliverd breech they seem ok so i'm not that worried.
Well thats enough about us hope you are all having a good day mine is quiet at the moment that won't last long.
-
great to hear that kelsey is better kate!!
Motherduck welcome to the October family :)Sounds like you have your hands full with the twins. I play the Sims 2 PC game and my sim on that just had twins and i find that a struggle enough lmao
I have been busy with ebay this morning trying to shift lager baby items no longer needed that I cant post
Love
-
LMAO Kat at your sim twins...
Welcome back Motherduck!
Kate I hear you on the farting thing...woo Jovie could give anyone a run for their money.
Kirsty LOL We kept meaning to set up Matilda's account, well finally we did in August & started one for Jovie at the same time. Kate thats exactly what we are doing too, asking people to give $$ rather than presents for birthdays.
-
I think I might give people that option as well girls with the money. Specially for Ashton when he doesn't really know any better with receiving presents etc. I really struggle trying to find something to tell people to buy them.

Well we just got our internet back after the phone line went dead. Apparently a wire snapped. Fixed now though!
Just hot back from the hosital too. DH was doing his fitness test for the air force and something went pop in his foot and now he cant walk on it and its bruised alot. The nurse basically fobbed him off saying its just muscle damage and it'll be right in a few days. Muscles don't go pop though! So he's going to the GP on monday if it's no better. Just what he need though as he is suppose to go into the air force in 4 weeks and needs to finish his fitness test.
Charlie starting to be a lot more happier. Heaps of smiles. No giggles yet though unfortunatly. Getting him weighed next tuesday. He is still sleeping though. Goes to sleep arounf 8pm and always wakes up at 7:30am, so thats 11.5hrs sleep.
-
I am so tired so I won't do personals now. We have also asked some people for $$ for the boys. I counted 27 t-shirts in his current size in his drawer after the Chrissy presents were put away. That's not including what he was wearing or what was in the wash. I also have a large stash already of the next size too, so I'm telling people no more clothes. Luckily some people have already given money.
Tom has not been sleeping well at night. Last night he woke every 2 hours all night. The night before we went out to dinner and a movie while dad baby sat (he left yesterday morning, Hotel Melanie is now officially closed for quite some time LOL!!). I got to bed at midnight and DH had to be up at 4am to take dad to the airport. I was up once to Tom before then (either 2 or 3, I was too tired to read the time properly), Tom woke again for a feed just after 4 and then Jack woke up about 6. He woke me up bcos he kept pressing my forehead. When I finally woke up enough I realised he had climbed up to get the sunscreen and was pretending to put it on me. Then he said "mummy has sun cream on". Cute! The night before that Tom was also awake every 2 hours. I think the biggest problem is he won't keep still. He rolls over and ends up against the rails and is uncomfortable. Hopefully the novelty of rolling and commando crawling will wear off and we'll all get some sleep soon. DH and I are walking zombies (Kate, I can't imagine how you are coping!!).
On the plus side, our house is our own again now with no house guests scheduled, and TBH, probably no house guests will be welcome for while as we REALLY need some family time. The holiday to Vanuatu should help, but before that DH is away for 8 days. They will be very long days for me. Especially having the two boys by myself for so long. I'm sure MIL will help if I need it, but I don't want her round here all the time either. I just hope I get some sleep before then! At least DH should come back refreshed!!
-
WOW I can't believe Tom is already commando!! That would be a shock to the system... Matilda was at least 4 1/2 months before she commando'd. Luckily Jovie doesn't seem as interested in moving, by now Matilda was attempting rolling & mastered it by 10 weeks.
-
Lily was 8 months old when she started commando. But i reckon charlie will be soon. He's very strong in the legs. He's also going from reclining in my arms to sitting up!
-
Ashton is too busy sleeping to even think of doing commando rofl. Last night he slept through the night for the 1st time since being in his cot. So hopefully he is getting used to it now and will go back to sleeping through.
We set up his account, but silly woman only put it in trust to my name not joint names. Not that is greatly matters too much in hindsight, but Andrew said "don't skip the country on me" LMAO.
Melanie - I have Andrew going away for 4 days in March and I am really dreading it with the 3 kids, plus the fact I will be 100% housebound during that time as he is naturally taking the car with him, so by the time he is back sometime late on the monday night I will be climbing the walls. He has put in for holidays from work from the tuesday, for a couple of weeks so at least then I will have the car with him not going to work and will be able to get out a bit.
I never got ashton weighed yesterday totally forgot while I was at the shop *doh*

Astrolady had to have a giggle, my sirname is sims and yes it does feel like someone keeps pushing my buttons on occasions,Oh to have some control maybe in another twenty years time.
It is amazing how much wind they can make mine alway let rip on the visitors i tell them that the bubs are diong morse code thier twin talk.
Have a good day everyone
-
Hi gals. Yep, Tom is moving around early. I can't remember when Jack first commando crawled, but Jack first rolled over at 7.5 weeks and Tom did it at 4.5 weeks so I think he's going to be mobile earlier (EEEEKKK - Jack was crawling by 5.5 months and walking at 9.5 months, I'm not ready for that again LOL).
We have had 2 better nights with Tom now. Last night he went 4 hours then 3, the night before he went 5 and then 4 (but the 5 hours was from 6:30 so I didn't get to sleep for most of it).
We took Jack to see a Thomas the Tank Engine display today at the Railway museum at Ipswich. He loved it. The whole way home he said 'go to see trains, one more time'. He even held 1 finger up for the one more time.
Motherduck, welcome. How are the twins going? Were they in hossy for long? 33 weeks is pretty good for twins isn't it, but still early. You must really have your hands full.
Kate, great to hear that Kelsey is better. Now we just need Rylee to sleep better! I hope you are still somewhat sane (although I read your post about still wanting no 3 so maybe you have totally lost your mind already LOL!!).
Kathryn, OMG at 3 boys and no car for 4 days. At least I only have 2 boys and will have a car. When I am on the verge of a nervous breakdown I will think of you in March and hopefully that'll get me through LOL!!
Hi to everyone else, sorry I've lost track of posts a bit and I'm too tired to catch up now.
-
hey everyone
Been a bit behind on keeping up with everything here, i will get there eventually!
Had to laugh though as i just read what Kathryn said about the commando thing, that was funny :)
All is good here, kids are good
Went out for dinner friday night and didnt get home till 4.30am, oops lol but it was fun :)
-
Well nice i am on someones mind anyhow :)
And i really hope the course works out for you and things improve
-
Oh Belinda I am dead if I am up till 11pm let alone not crawling home till 4.30am !!
I put Ashton to bed an hour early last night (8.30) and he woke up an hour early this morning lol little bugga. He is in his cot just laying there awake atm, so I will leave him there till he starts getting fed up. It is going to be hot today and he has a ceiling fan in his room, so the longer he stays in bed the better. I wish someone would let me stay in bed rofl Feel like I have been hit by a mac truck this morning.
Hello to everyone !!

hey girls
sorry selfish post........just got back from step aerobics......can hardly lift my fingers I'm so pooped!PMSL
Jazz's still sleeping about 6-7 hours in a row then wakes for a bottle at night. Corey actually did sat night feed for me as we couldn't settle Gemma so I slept in Gem's room and got to sleep all night....pure bliss. Apart from that Jasmine is 3 months this week..man its gone quick and shes such a chatty smiley little girl. Even at 3am after her bottle she lays there talking to me as I doze on and off!
Have a great day ladies.........
-
Wow - Tom slept for 7.5 hours last night. He woke only once at 4:15 - hooray! I wonder if he can do it again tonight!
DH is off tomorrow for 8 days - I'll either be here more often for company, or less because I have no time LOL!
Hi everyone. Kate, LMAO, I will look out for your lost mind! I suspect mine might be in the same place LOL!!
-
Kate - that is a really good weight considering her reflux - well done!
Melanie/Kat - hubby is going away for 4 days too, next week, am nervous about being on my own, he is such a great help!!
Kirsty - I AM impressed by the step aerobics, I thought I was doing well pushing the pram for 20 minutes! :)
Jean - hello and welcome!
Hello to everyone else too, will do more personals soon (I always say that!)
Kirsten is back being quite settled again, although she is feeding lots. She has got herself into a strange routine where she will not go to sleep until after 1130pm..in fact until then she is more awake/hungry/playful than ever, then sleeps through till between about 8 and 9am, has a small feed then goes back to sleep for the rest of the morning.
It's good in that I can get things done in the morning and have hubby to help in the evenings but it would be nice to have some time together at night and also I miss her in the morning!
Does anyone have any tips for trying to move her bedtime forward?? i don't really want to wake her up too early in the mornings and have a fussy cranky baby on my hands and am also worried she won't eat enough in the evenings to sleep through if she is put down early!!?!

Hey girls
Kate-Marion-I must say after step I'm pretty sore, mostly in my calfs!!LOL Was pretty funny, I managed to keep up but tripped a few times. Its been soooo long since I've done step its ridiculous. I also went to aqua aerobics last night, but thats more of a warm down as its not that hard. Tonight I'm off to body balance which is yoga, pilates, tai chi all combined and its quite a work out.I love it cause at the end you get 10 mins of relaxation where you just get to lay there, I nearly fall asleep every time!!
Kate-I don;'t want Jaz to grow up and I don't want Gemma to either!! BUT I do look forard to more sleep in the future!LOL!WOW thats an impressive weight Rylee is!!
Well we had a kinda good night, jaz went to bed about 6.30pm and slept till a bit after 12 then up again at 3.30am but it took me ages to get her back down as all she wanted to do was talk and make squeely sounds!PMSL She was so happy it was ridiculous! In the end I lay her in the cot next to me and let her go for it, she woke Corey up with her happy squeels! Eventually she feel asleep 1.5hours later. I'm a bit zonked now but hopefully I'll get a nap in somewhere or possible fall asleep on the couch again while Gemma runs up and slaps me and tickles me!
Have a great day!
