Hey girls
Melanie I hope your feeling better.
We had a goodnight. Jas has been mighty hungry, guess its another growth spurt. I was up once last night at 1.45am and she slept till around 6am but lay there just staring into space till I woke!LOL Gotta love that!
Well Ive just booked Gem in for swimming lessons this year. Jasmine will be to young(they have to be 6months here) so she can start next term. Gems gonna love it!!

Kate: So glad that it seems help is about for dealing with Rylee, sorry to hear that its a wait to get it though and nice that they might have settling techniques that suit you and your choices, i really hope you can all find a good solution to it very soon
Kirsty: glad the swimming lessons worked out, do you know what age they can go in the pool with the teacher?
Melanie: Horray for the IL's moving on and thanks for the welcome back
Kathryn: Hope you caught up on that lost sleep
Emma: Hope your wish comes true of a beautiful new addition by 2009:)
Had lukes birthday today and he was spoilt rotten as usual, gave him his ticket to sydney in march, dont know if i mentioned but him and i are going in march for a mum and son get away so should be good, just have to find accomodation within my budget lol, but have awhile to figure that one out, flights were nice and cheap anyhow :)

Kate, I'm glad that there is nothing wrong with Rylee other than the colic and reflux. Hopefully this can at least give you a little peace of mind. It's good too that there is help available for dealing with it, although you have clearly done an amazing job so far.
Kirsty, great news about the swimming lessons. Jack loves his lessons. I can't wait to see how Thomas goes on Saturday with his first lesson (our swim school starts them at 3 months).
Belinda, at our swim school they go in on their own some time around 2 to 2.5, depending on the child. Glad the birthday went well. The trip to Sydney sounds great.
BBL, Tom has just woken up....

Hey girls
another great night, Jaz slept from 10 till 3am and up again at 6.30am. She was awke before me again at 6.30am, Corey and gemma were already up and Jaz was just laying there staring at the ceiling!LOL
Belinda-our pool says from 3 years they can go on their own. It just depends on who does the lessons I think. I second that the trip to sydney sounds great!! I've never been to sydney.
Kate-I'm so glad their is nothing seriously wrong with Rylee. Your are just so patient about it all. I would be pulling my hair out seriously! You just continue to amaze me Kate with how your just breezing through all of this. Rylee is so lucky to have you as her mummy!
Melanie-awww thats so great that Thomas is starting his lessons. I must say i was a little bummed when I remembered they have to be 6 months here. Doesn't matter though she can start next term.

Hiya Girls
kate - I am glad to hear that things are getting worked out for Rylee. I hope the waiting lists you need to go on aren't too long for you. LOL @ impressing a doctor too. Go Girl
Belinda - Can I come to sydney too LOL *jealous*
I don't take our kids to swimming lessons. Bad mummy I know, but at nearly $20.00 per child per lesson for the one closest to us it really is too expensive. If they want children to learn to swim, so they should make lessons affordable.
On the Ashton front. another 9 hrs last night put him down at 10pm and he woke at 7am, so I think I can offically say he is sleeping through

9 hours........what??.......thats great Kathryn! Holy crap at your swimming lessons at being nearly $20 they are only $9 here. BTW congrats on getting mod of the year! I voted for you as you have impressed me so much with how busy you are juggling everything, surprised you get time to sleep!LOL and the fact that you are such a wonderful, caring person( and make me laugh my a$$ off with some of your comments!!). If we hadn't had our bubs in the same month I never would have had the privledge of getting to know you better.
-
Awww thankyou Kirsty, you just made me go all goosebumpy and teary.
If our swimming lessons were only $9 I'd definitely be taking the tribe!!

Well we got back from our holiday in Goulburn today. It rained almost every day we were there! They had more in a week then they have had in 6 months. i reckon all the farmers would have been happy. We also went to Canberra. Jacob wanted to see the war memorial and we also went to see an Egyptian exhibition. Was a great holiday. I really needed it. I'm so tired from the 5 hour drive though. Charlie is still sleeping though. Although Lily is being more of a brat! Having major tantys and won't ever listen. Didn't do much on new years. Just a few drinks and watched the fire works on tv, which i though were not very good. Looking forward to a better year this year, i hope!

Hello all!
Very quick post, am sneaking on inlaws computer!
So glad I am going home tomorrow, am getting very sick of being told "you should let her cry, dont feed her straight away" etc..I don't know why relatives feel they have to say this, but its particularly annoying coming from inlaws!
More soon when I get home tomorrow!

Urgh Marion what a PITA. We had really hot weather about 2wks before xmas and my MIL tried telling me to give Ashton cold boiled water !! I said "um hello i am breastfeeding so he needs nothing else" should have heard her argue the point. I ended up printing stuff of the net stating that breastfed babies do not need water till 6mths of age just to shut her up.
I feel like I have been hit by a mack truck today. Ashton woke up screaming at 3am. After sleeping thru for 2 weeks I have really felt it LOL. Can't say I blame him though cause it was bloody hot last night so he probably wanted a drink.

Tom has also been unsettled the last two days. And it's his Christening on Sunday so I'm likely to be very busy tomorrow and Sunday. I'll try and catch up on Monday. Hope everyone is well. I hope you enjoy your escape from FIL Marion. Welcome back Tegan. Hope you're getting some sleep Kate. Congrats Kathryn, well deserved. Kirsty, looks like you I are still in the "baby doesn't sleep through the night club". Hi Belinda, hope things are settling down for you. Who have I missed?
-
Hey girls
Tegan-Glad you had a good time away. I was starting to wonder where you had gotten to!LOL! I hope 2007 brings you and your family so much happiness hun.
Marion-Your inlaws sound like my mum. Argh she drives me up the wall sometimes!!
Kathryn-Jaz stopped sleeping through as of tues night as well and boy did I feel it!LOL! Luckily shes sleeping through again now. I hope Ashton is to.
Melanie-I hope the christening goes well tomorrow.
Kate-OMG where do I begin. You poor thing and poor Kelsey!!I'd be a absolute mess. I can't believe they just let Kelsey vomit and vomit, surely there was something they could give her, poor little poppet. Oh no at you starting to see things and talk in tongues!LOL! I shouldn't laugh but I've been there with Gemma when she was sick and I got literally no sleep for 48 hours when she had gastro then I had gastro. Not fun when they are sick. You always wish you could take the sickness for them. Hope things have settled down at your house now.
Emma-I'm big on swimming lessons too. We grew up in NZ (ruakaka beach and auckland) and we swam alot growing up at the beach. I really want our girls to be confident swimmers.
Well we had an excellent night. After Jasmine stopped sleeping through from tues night last night she slept through YAY. Although she has also been very unsettled these last couple of days. Corey and I are betting its a growth spurt, cause she literally would take half and hour to finish a bottle then an hour she would want another and finish that!
Emma to answer your question about how much 'awake' time and 'sleep' time Jasmine is having, I would say that over this last week I've noticed she likes to be awake alot more thats for sure. Some days she'll only have a couple of 1hour naps and seem to be awake for the rest. It really depends on what I'm doing. If I'm out and about when I get home she'll just sleep and sleep, but on home days like yesterday she probably had 3 naps ranging form 45 mins to 1.5 hours and was awake the rest of the time.

Hiya Girls
Kate - OMG you poor girl and poor Kelsey !! I really do hope everything settles down for you soon.
Melanie - Have a fantastic Christening today.
Emma - Ashton doesn't have a routine in the day. He sits in his rocker all day and just sleeps when he wants to and looks around when he is awake. We have tried toys etc for his awake time, but he still is not interested in toys yet. I dont' physically put him to bed he just dozes as he sees fit.
Ashton news -- He is now in his cot . My baby is growing up :crying: 2 nights ago was his first night in there and he woke through the night thanks to Kameron who had actually wet the bed, so I had to deal with that  but last night I put him into his cot at 8.30pm and he woke up at 7.30am this morning. Yes you read that right 11 hours sleep!!
Now I am in process of getting all his basinette stuff together to hopefully sell so it is out of my way LOL.

Awww Kathryn!! Thats so sad that he's growing up so quickly!! We keep saying when Jovie sleeps from pm to after 5am we will move her into the shared room with Matilda. I keep thinking how sad it will be when our room is empty of baby gear....
-
It is sad Christy, but I seriously can't wait for some space either LOL. Lachlan is fast growing out of clothes which of course gets passed down to Ashton and Ashton atm just has no room in his room to store them !!

Where is everyone hiding ??
I am tired this morning. Ashton has woken up the last 2 nights again. I have let him go for 15mins but he hasn't been re-settling. He mainly lays there and whinges with the odd cry. So I go in and feed him and he feeds for about 5/10 mins and goes back to sleep.
So I guess a 5/10 min wake up once during teh night for me is pretty good. I am more tired this morning as the other two were up the crack of dawn.

I'm back! It's been a busy few days but hopefully things are starting to settle down. Tom is over the unsettled spell. He has been really good the last couple of days thank goodness. The Christening went really well. The boys were good as gold and we had a lovely day. Yesterday we spent the morning organising the boys' passports for the Vanuatu trip. We had taken our own photos but they were 1.5mm outside there accepted range, so we did the interview then had to go to the GPO to get more photos done. They only took 2 goes to get Jack's but we were there an hour and a half in total getting the photos. They were doing another baby and Thomas and couldn't get the baby ones right. They would either be too far away or too close. In the end they gave us photos that were 1.5 mm outside the accepted range and said to tell them how much trouble we'd had. The passports office did accept them after that, so they probably could have accepted our first ones after all. AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least the boys were good for the whole time. Poor Jack sat in the pram the whole time while Thomas had photo after photo taken.
Mum and her DH came for dinner last night as they have left to drive back to Melb this morning. Dad is staying with us still but they got along all right over dinner. Dad leaves Thurs morning and I honestly can't wait to have our house to ourselves for a while. MIL keeps wanting to come round for a swim though, but at least she doesn't stay too long.
Kate, how awful for you. It always seems as though everything happens at once. Surely you have had your run of bad luck for a long time to come. I hope Kelsey is fully recovered now and that you are able to catch up on some rest. I can't believe what a bad time you have had lately. I can totally relate to wanting some uneventful time.
Kathryn, wow at Ashton sleeping so well. It is a little sad when they go into the cot isn't it. Tom is growing up so quickly. He moves all over his cot now. He rolls over, and commando crawls from one end of the cot to the other and spins around so he's facing the other direction.
Kirsty, I'm glad Jas is sleeping through again. Hopefully it will stay that way. When is Gem's first swimming lesson? Oh, did I mention Tom loved his first lesson on Saturday. He's been in our pool twice since too and really loves it. He kicks and paddles like crazy!
Emma, Tom varies from day to day, but is certainly increasing his awake time. I don't think there is a normal as such. Just follow her cues and you'll be right. It's definitely harder second time bcos the baby has to keep getting dragged along with the toddler and doesn't get a chance to follow his own sleeping patterns.
Tegan, I hope you are feeling relaxed after your holiday. How are going now?
Belinda, are you around sweetie?
Marion, I hope you are enjoying being back home. Don't get me started on ILs!!
-
oh Kate!!! Huge sympathy going your way atm. I am covered most of the day with vomit with Jovie and I can't imagine what gastro would be like as well. I hope Rylee steers clear & your BM keeps her healthy!
Its a nasty bug thats been going around heaps... I have known families to get it & be shut down for ages... I hope Kelsey picks up quickly for you!
