Kathryn YAY for Ashton's weight gain!
6 hours after 2 weeks!! Thats fantastic sleep!!
LOL Christy, Hurry up and join us in here!!
I just got our new medicare cards in the mail. Suddenly with 4 names on the card it looks really full. I think it's just hit home that we are now a family of 4!!
LOL Melanie and the 4 names on the card. I am used to that one, our new cards will have 5 on it !!
Kate - congrats again on the birth of Rylee !!
Christy - you better not become a November girl on me LMAO ;)
Well as for us... Ashton seems to have a lump half way down his willy on one side, so I have rang and booked him into the family GP tomorrow just to get it checked out to make sure it is okay. I will also get the home midwife to look tomorrow when she comes to see what she says. If she says it is perfectly fine then I will just cancel the GP appointment, but I have it as a backup in case she is unsure. It has been there since birth, so I think if it was anything serious the special care nurses would have noticed it.
Love
Kathryn, hope the lump is nothing.
Kate, welcome finally to baby buddies! Look forward to hearing more from you.
I will be out all day today catching up on errands that were supposed to happen before the baby arrived (like picking my stuff up from work!).
Hope everyone is doing well and a few more belly buddies join us soon. I can't believe I'm not still one of the ones waiting!!
Well the midwife said it was of no great concern (the lump) so we cancelled the GP appointment. We will just get it looked at by the GP when we have to go for our 2wk health check next week.

Thats good news kathryn bout ashtons willy when jaxen was born they thought he had hypospadius but i had appt with specialist and he is fine nothing wrong with it!
wow i had the worst night last night he slept from 7pm till 12 then had a feed and would not go back to sleep in his bassinette only in bed with me every time he fell asleep in my bed i tried to put him in his bed but he would wake up and cry this went on for nearly 5hrs im sooo tired in the end i gave up and he sleept with me in my bed!
i just looked at your photos kate Rylee is beautiful!! and so is kelsey!!
Kate, Rylee is just gorgeous! I love her name too.
Kathryn, great to hear Ashton is putting weight back on. He is only a few hours younger than Charlie, so close!
Melanie, it is hard for us too going out with 2 under 2. Lily is 22mths and won't use her pram anymore, yet won't hold out hand which i hate. She's very independent and is getting a bit jealous of Charlie. So cute though when she gives him kisses!
Well I think I have a mummy's boy! Charlie will cry with anyone but will fall asleep on me. He also hates the basinette now and will only settle when co-sleeping. I am still a bit concerned about it but found last night to be ok. Just scared i'm going to roll on him or something. Also decided to stop breastfeeding and just give him formula because I have now been diagnosed with depression and it was just getting me down too much when it wasn't going right and he was feeding constantly without settling. He settles heaps better with the formula. I'm a bit sad about it because i really wanted to BF, but i did it for a week, better than 2 days i did with Lily i suppose.
Oh Kate, what gorgeous girls! The photos are just beautiful!
Kathryn, glad everything's fine with Ashton.
Britney, I sure hope the sleeping settles. Do you get a chance for a daytime nap?
Tegan, you should feel proud that you have done the best you can. A week of bfing is still good. I know of many families where co-sleeping has worked for them. I think it is a very individual thing. I think a mother's instinct is very strong, so in normal circumstances it is unlikely she would roll on her baby. There are also studies that show that mum's breathing regulates the baby's breathing with co-sleeping. I say do what works for you.
Tom and I had a lovely day running errands yesterday while Jack had his day in day-care. Yesterday was his EDD so it seemed funny. I had him weighed as I wanted to know if he would be heavier on his EDD than Jack was born and he is. At 3.5 weeks Tom weighs 3.6kg (he was 2.9kg born and 2.8 on discharge). Jack was 3.4 born.
How do you girls manage the supermarket with 2 kids? If you use the pram you can't carry many groceries. You can only put one child in the trolley and while Jack can walk it would be hard work to do a whole shop with him able to walk around and pick things up etc. I'm thinking the only way is to put Jack in the trolley and Tom in the sling. I'm wondering what others do.
Do you have a baby carrier/sling that you can use ? That way Jack can still sit in the trolley and you have the baby in the carrier and still have hands free.
Last night was our first night shopping with 3 kids !! Ashton in pram, Lachlan in trolley and much to Kameron's disgust he had to walk but hey he is 5 next week.
Tegan - you have to do what is best for you. I was disappointed that I could only feed Lachlan for 4wks but he was feeding every 2 hours plus I had to chase after Kameron as well who by then had given up day time naps. So if it works for you and you are happy and Charlie and Lily are happy then it is all good !! What time was Charlie born on the Wednesday ?
Kate - Sorry to hear about your PC troubles, and don't worry about posting properly Rylee (who is just gorgeous btw) and Kelsey come first :)
Speaking of photos, I have some of Ashton online now.

YAY ive been waiting to see pics Kathryn. You must be SO proud! Your boys are all smiling perfectly and it looks like Dad is chuffed too!!! COngrats again on another beautiful boy :D
Kathryn, Charlie was born at 6:33pm, so only about 7hrs before Ashton. He is gorgeous by the way!
Actually got some sleep last night for the first time! Feel so much better today.
Tegan, glad to hear you had a better night.
Kathryn, wow, what beauitful photos. Three boys (4 including DH) will keep you on your toes!! Yes, I do have a sling, which I have been using a lot. I think that is going to be the only way to grocery shop on my own.
Tegan, what a shame Lily won't go in the pram. Someone from belly buddies (was it Christy?) said their child did the same thing for a month or 2 but then started going in the pram again. I hope that works for you too. It's much easier keeping Jack safe when he's in the pram - especially if I need to feed Tom or something - very hard to hold a child's hand all the time!
I have MIL and FIL here at the moment so it's a full house but great to have some extra help. Especially when I go out, although I do go out with just the kids sometimes so I know I can do it. FUnny how it's actually less scary going out with 2 then it was with just 1 in the beginning!! Things are easier second time around I reckon. Enough to make me consider having a third even though it was never on the cards before!!
Hi Girls
Had midwife out today and we did a butt naked weight with Ashton. He is now 2.45kg which means he has put on 60g from the last weigh in. Every time we are threatened with re-hospitalisation he puts on weight ;) Wont see midwife again now till Wednesday. I started feeding him 3hrly as well so he gets a couple more feeds a day in to try and fatten him up a bit.
Hope everyone else is going well.
Love
Hello everyone!
Hope I can join this thread. My EDD was 10/11 but my daughter Kirsten decided to arrive on 16/10!
Had a week in hospital after a traumatic birth but its lovely to be home, and she is perfect!
Kathryn - does Ashton wake up to feed? We are having to wake Kirsten 3-4 hourly as she is just so sleepy she won't wake up properly when hungry. Although she did once last night so maybe this is about to change! I shouldn't complain really! Are you breastfeeding him? I tried for a week but she just won't latch on so I am just expressing and bottle feeding and hoping this will improve as she gets a bit more mature.

Hey Marion
Yep I am breast-feeding and yes I had to wake Ashton to feed in the early days, as he was plummeting with his weight the hospital told me too. I was also told they will be sleepy as well. Ashton was doing 4hourly when we came home and last 2 days I have had to start waking him at 3hrly due to weight concerns again, but thankfully just a nappy change is enough to wake him up enough to feed and he has started to put his weight back on as well. They also told me if he is still sleepy after a nappy change to keep him in just a singlet/nappy to feed so he isn't as warm and cosy cause he gets body heat from me anyway.
Marion feel free to join the Premmie Mums thread as well found HERE !!

I am so eager to join you girls in here now!! Kathryn, I have threatened Jovie to be an October babe.... she better not follow in her sister's footsteps!!
Tegan- yep we went through a huge spell where Matilda would not be in the pram or hold my hand... thats when we got the monkey harness & now she wants the stroller  ... I haven't bought a pram for Jovie yet because I was waiting to see what happens with Matilda so I think I'll be using the sling for a month & see. Thinking of the Phil & Teds though... its flash :).
