Brissy girls - Friday 11/1 is fine with me. How about we meet up outside the cinemas like last time and go from there. I am not familiar with the centre so can't suggest anywhere inside.
Sounds good!!
K - So thats
Me (Rebecca)
Nerida
Catherine
Kate
sounds good. ill be there
my sister just did a naming day for both her girls and it was really nice!
Welcome back Kim and happy new year!!
Tyron only had 2 needles and the oral one?
Micky- welcome to the group, i also have2 boys Tyron is my bub born on the 14th Oct and Nixon is 20months. its a great bunch of chatty ladies in here so hope you stick around, and if you can go to the meet up i think its great we all try and get together!
i joined WW yesterday, so my goal is to loose 11kg. dh wants to loose 20kg, he didnt join but is doing it with me.
What needles did Tyron get Nic?
Jas got DTPa/IPV, HIB/Heb B, Pneumococcal and the oral was Rotavirus. Chelsea got the 3 needles at that age too....same as they get til 6 months.
Good luck at WW too :D
I am coming to the brissy meet up as well!! I'll bring my little buddha along!! :-P
Hey everyone!
Nic - You're a good girl joining WW. That's great your DH is joining too, it makes it easier to stick to I reckon. I still have 7kg I want to shift, I feel so yuck about myself right now!
Kim - How are the girls today after their vaccinations? Hopefully they are completely over it.
I wonder why some of us had 3 needles plus the oral Vax and some only had 2!? hmmmmm....
Yeah I'm not sure Ryan had 2 needles and spat out the Rotavirus so they had to give him a top up dose lol
Kate - hope the mastitis clears quickly for you
Kim - great to see you back! Hope the girls have recovered well from their needles. Tahlias are next Tuesday, and I'm not looking forward to them! Not sure whether she has to have 2 or 3
Micky - welcome! and congrats on the arrival of your new bub
Trish - I might have to try some of that moisturiser - I've heard before that lavender helps calm them
Rebecca - hope your DH is ok... that sounds a bit nasty! Did Caitlyn sleep longer for you?
Nickers - I did WW before my wedding, and lost about 12kg.. maybe I should join up aswell! I think its changed a bit since I did it
We took Tahlia shopping yesterday arvo and she was so much happier being able to sit up in the pram and look at everything.... I'd never noticed so many people checking her out before either!
I finally got to the gym last night - went to a Body Jam class, it nearly killed me! I used to find that class relatively easy before pregnancy!
Dr wanted to give Jas 2 yesterday then come back next week for the other 1.
Perhaps check your blue books (well in VIC they are blue...different states ahve diff colours) and see what vac's you babies got...and we can all compare??
Trish the girls were perfect. Jas slept 540-1030...and i never ever wake..but i had no choice...she missed 2 of her 5 feeds yesterday and i wasnt letting her go with out something. Managed 3 bottles all day....had her feed and then back to sleep til 7am. Chelsea slept 12 hours and was hard to wake this morning as well for FDC. Jas has slept most of today as well...
Weight loss....yeah we wont go there....$hit loads to get off....diet begins Monday when Craig goes back to work!
Kellie - Good girl for going to the gym! I just run around after Joel as my work out LOL! He is such an active boy that by the time he was 12 months old I weighed less than before I was pg with him!! I'm hoping the same will happen running after two boys ;)
Kim - Glad to hear your girls pulled up so well. We would have had three injections, but the GP had run out of pneumococcol so I have to go back for it. He also got the oral rotavirus stuff.
By the way Melbourne girls, Kim can come on Sunday :D I forgot to mention that yesterday! So I think we have Kim, Kellie, Mo, Ange and I plus our DH's. Looking forward to it!
Our books are purple!
OK here....one injection is 7vPCV which covers the Pneumoccocal and the other is a DTPa-IPV-HepB-HIB - which covers Diptheria Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hep B, Haemophilus Influenzae type B. Then you have the Rotarix oral stuff.
I notice on my card thingy that indigenous kids have 3 needles and looks like the third needle is just HIB. I don't know why they would be different, as they are all getting the vax for the same things?
Maybe that is how it is done where you are too! Seems rather pointless in having it as 3 needles when they can clearly have it covered in just 2.
Max is being a good boy today, it is much cooler so he's sleeping better. It was almost 42 here yesterday...yucky. Thank goodness for air-con!
Hi ladies, wow everyone is so friendly and chatty... I love it!!! Would love to catch up but I am a no go for Friday the 11th, but maybe the next one... Thanks for the invite.
Becky - I am a little bit funny with the whole baptism thing. I am not baptised / christened and I don't have a religion so that's why I don't understand anything to do with church / god etc. I kind of look at it as if you aren't practicing your religion (ie. a regular church goer) then why would you have your kids baptised - even if it is to keep DH's parents happy (which isn't the reason we are doing it mind you???) I am extremely uncomfortable in church (when we had DS#1 baptised) and am certainly not looking forward to #2 getting baptised however, I do it because it is what DH wants and it's what he believes in. I understand that he "believes" but doesn't have to go to church to believe (IYKWIM). I kind of like the idea of letting our kids decide whether or not they would like to be and giving them the option when they are older (why didn't I think of this earlier - LOL). Don't get me wrong though I am okay with it but just uncomfortable with it (if that makes sense). DH and I have had many discussions about the whole thing and I have clarified with him that if he is getting it done to "please" his parents then it won't be happening!!!!
My DS will be going for 4 month vaccinations soon. I am not looking forward to it (but who does I suppose). He didn't have any side effects with the first lot so fingers crossed he won't with the second. He took them really well which surprised me. My Dr had a nurse with her and they basically did the 3 needles at once so he didn't really have time to think about it, they were just wonderful.
Micky - We arent doing it to keep DH parents happy. Dh wants it done. And I believe that even though we do not go to church, DH still has his strong beliefs, and if he wants our babies done, that is fine with me too.
So going to the Brissy meet up is -
Me
Kate
Catherine
Nerida
Amelia
Any other takers????? LOL..... Viv, Amber, Terri???
Hi all
Poor L has a fever after his vax yesterday. He hasn't been grizzly, just sleeping a lot and feels really hot. I did give him some panadol this morning but I think he would have slept with or without it. Anyway, it made dragging him around the shops so much easier.
Nickers - I love WW. I am a lifetime member having lost 13kg immediately prior to falling pg. Actually I partly credit the weight loss to becoming pg. I should go back to following the books to budge these last few kilos. Did you have to show a Dr's note to join up? My DH ate what I did and he also lost weight. He loved it.
Have gone back to Huggies nappies. The Babylove ones were leaking. Only had a couple of leaks with the Huggies, so I figure it is better to pay more for the peace of mind.
Got to start packing for our weekend away. Think we will need a whole suitcase just for L's stuff. Wish us luck for the flight!!
Back on Monday. Have a good weekend.
Hi everyone.
Hope you have all had a great week. I for one am soooo glad it's Friday and hubby can take care of Ethan for a couple of days. I have a bad cold and am feeling miserable. Ethan must know I am feeling lousy because he is being extra difficult. Barely slept today and has not slept for more than 45min in a row.
As for the dummy we gave it back. Ethan started sucking his hand and is trying to get his thumb in his mouth. We really don't want him to suck his thumb. We will leave him alone for now and try again in another few months. I don't suppose it will be so bad when he can stick it in himself.
I know some of you were insterested in how the cloth nappy thing was going. They aren't that bad. I find I am washing all the time with a refluxy baby so a load of nappies every second day is nothing. Still using the terry flats during the day and disposables at night. I have researched modern cloth nappies and some are on order. I have found they are very expensive but I think they will be very good, especially as Ethan gets bigger. Not sure how to fold the terry's to go around a bigger waist than Ethan's.
Hope you are all well.
Kate - hope you are starting to feel better.
For vaccinations Ryan got:
Infanrix Hexa: covers Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, HIB, Hep B and polio
Prevenar: Pneumococcal
Rotarix
Says his baby book, 2 needles
our books are red!!!
Maddi got 3 needles plus the oral thing.
Maddi is due for her 4 month Vax's in 20 days, so not looking forward to those.
Phil might be coming to the meet-up depends on how he feels in the morning.
Sorry Becky, I didn't mean to imply the whole DH parent thing and baptising.. I am sorry if it came across like that... xxoo
No worries Micky :)
Micky - welcome!
Nic and Kate - see you Monday! Emily is being a pain again and refusing a day sleep, so she might be acting out a bit!
christening/naming day: My hubby is christian and I'm agnostic. After long debate we decided that we'd let our children decide. We are both spiritual and will ensure our children are introduced to all the fundamentals. We had a great naming day for Em and are looking forward to doing the same for Harry when he has reached a year old.
Made a montage for Jasmine:

And one for Chelsea:

Wow Kim, they're gorgeous! Well done, how clever!
they are great Kim thanks for sharing!
Tyron had Infanrix, prevenar & rotarix, but in 2 needles and 1 oral.
both NSW & VIC books are blue
alz- i hope you kick that cold soon
They are good Kim!
Hayley had 2 needles and the oral dose, of which she spat most of it out so had to have a second go.
I'm feeling a bit better, very tired at the moment as we had a wedding yesterday afternoon but the mastitis is starting to clear up and i'm not as sore anymore thankfully. Didn't get to be as bad as i thought it might be so i'm happy about that.
Nic/Claire - i probably won't make it on Monday as i have to go and help out at DH work for the day. Have a nice catch up though. Hope Emily goes back to having her day sleeps soon Claire!
Kim - very cute!
Kim - they are gorgeous!
Melb girls - are you over this heat yet? I am!
Tahlia had an excellent sleep last night.. put her down about 10, but she woke at 10.30 with a pain, finally burped out the pain and got her down again about 11.30, then she didnt wake up until 8.00! Then I fed her, and put her down again at 9, and she slept till 11.30... now she is wide awake and laughing at the world
Wow Kellie that is an awsome sleep! The better they sleep, the more they sleep, and the happier they are. Max is sleeping like a log today too. His last feed yesterday was at about 7:30pm, he was in bed by about 8:30, he stirred around 11ish when DH got home from the cricket (fun for him!) went straight back to sleep, and WE had to wake him up at 7am....my boobies were about to explode! He was back in bed at about 8am, woke at 9:15, played for 45 min, fed, then back in bed by 10:45....slept till 12 woke for about 30 mins, thought he was hungry but no....STILL TIRED! He's back in bed and it's 1pm!!
He will probably wake up and be the size of a teenager!!!!
Kellie i am so over this heat & looks like next week is gonna be hot as well.
Look forward to meeting the Melb girls tomorrow :D

Did I miss anyone????????
Wow quiet in here today! Not a lot been happening here. Caitlyn has been sleeping longer at night - we got 5 hours out of her last night! And she is spacing her feeds at night further apart - 6.5 hours!
She is off to Daycare on Tuesday but I dont go back to work until Wednesday. Am kinda looking forward to going back....but not really...cause I dont particualrly like my job! But at least I will be out of the house and having some adult conversation.
Speaking of....Caitlyn is really starting to get more vocal...lots of sounds coming out of her mouth that sound intentional...not just grunts anymore. I recorded it on my phone and sent it to all my friends and family so that they could hear.
My mum and dad were stoked. this is their first grandchild so they are so very excited about every little thing that she is doing now. They jsut wish we werent 800 km away so they could pop over and visit....so I dont know if the distance is a good or a bad thing now!
Anyway - just wanted to pop in and say hi to everyone and I hope the Melb meeting goes well.....is that why its soooooo quiet in here????
Have a good day all!
wow - it has been quiet in here! the melb gals should all be home from the meetup now!
It was great finally meeting Trish, Kim Mo and their families in person! I'm looking forward to the next one!
Rebecca - Tahlia is also getting more vocal, its like she is trying to talk to me! So Cute!
It is very quiet.... I have been enjoying Max and the dog outside today...not just on the computer in my spare moments!
Max is talking HEAPS....I have been reading him more stories and he is starting to talk while I am reading them to him...so cute!
Me, you missed me Becky!!! HEE HEE!! :-) Looking forward to catching up with everyone again!
Must be the time when we are all able to be more out and about. Went for a massive walk around South Bank today and was so lovely - Mateo loved it and has come home exhausted, fell asleep at 3:30 and is still asleep! Hope he sleeps tonight now!!
We are thinking of baptising Mateo in Leongatha, VIC (Dom's home town) and having a naming ceremony here. Still not sure though, still discussing.
MiniMax - Mateo does the same thing when I read him stories - it's so cute isn't it? :-)
Sweet dreams everyone. xo
Hey everyone!
It was great fun meeting up with the Melbourne girls, Kieran loved being the only boy and having 3 gorgeous girls for company!! (Actually 4 including Chelsea!). Later we had friends come over for afternoon tea which was lovely, they only just left though! I used to work with them both and we found each other on Facebook, it's such a great way to keep in touch with people.
Joel got bitten by maybe a spider in bed a couple of nights ago and his right eye has swelled right up (Melb. girls saw the poor boy today), he could hardly open it. We gave him antihitamines and it is starting to look a bit better. It looks like he has been boxing and got a big shiner!
Kieran had a short wake-time after his last feed because he had such a busy day, he is having a nice sleep now.
Have a great evening everyone! Funny how quiet it has been in here today, us Melb. girls must be a bit too chatty in here usually *points finger at myself*
Trish
I also had a good time & look forward to the next one.
That hill is a pain to walk up tho lol & I'm so glad Maddi behaved her self this time :D
When we got back Maddi went down for a nice big nap gave me time to start the roast for dinner.
I was wondering what happened to Joel's eye, Must of missed that part of the convo, hope it goes down some more tonight.
