Hope you had a great day!!! xx
Good morning!
Didn't get much sleep last night, K slept through until 5am, but I think with all the stuff that went on last night I had trouble sleeping! Feeling pretty yuck this morning and the sight in the mirror is very frightening LOL!
DH has taped the window up and we'll have to arrange for a replacement ASAP. It's one of those privacy windows so who knows how much that will cost!
Viv - LOL at O'Brien's! This is actually the second window Joel has broken  so I think you are right. DH is too money conscious (aka "tight") to get someone in to fix it, he will do it himself. He's pretty clever and replaced the last one. I'm glad you're giving the solids a miss for a while, your sister is very wise!
Nic - Happy 2nd birthday to Nixon for yesterday! I remember when it was his first birthday, doesn't time fly?! I'm so glad he is now a happy and healthy big boy, that must have been so scary when he arrived so early. Re: Joel, he threw the projectile intentionally, but I don't think he realised it could break the window. I had only told him 30 seconds before to stop throwing things at the window so he thought he'd throw it extra hard
Amber - Myles is so clever sitting up! Thanks for the hug! I think Joel is used to having K around now, he just likes getting attention. He has always been larger than life and attention seeking!
Willow - Doh about the Ergo! Maybe try it on again in case it was just coincidence? I find mine wonderful on my back. If you decide to go the Ergo don't forget to talk to me!
Ange - How are you feeling today? I'm glad your eye hasn't been damaged. I hope you are taking it easy! DH has been known to go to the loo wearing the Ergo too LOL!
Kellie - It sounds a lot like Tahlia is teething! Do you have a 6 month MCHN appointment? Hopefully your nurse can poke around in her mouth and tell you what's going on.
Saffi - Glad you snuck a nap in yesterday. Did you have a better night last night? K's pram only faces forward.
Rebecca - Happy 6 months to Caitlyn for yesterday!
Mo - How's your mum? I hope she is a bit better after your scare the other night.
I'm taking K to the paediatrician later this morning. Hopefully he'll find the reason why my boy is so unhappy. Have a great day everyone!
Trish - OMG!!! How lucky that you were in front of K like you were and none of you were injured. Sorry to hear you had a carp night. All that adrenalin in your system wouldn't have helped. Hope you canget some zzzz today. GL with the paed appointment - hope youu get some answers.
Happy birthday to Nixon.
L was unsettled overnight. He woke up at 8.30pm and wouldn't sleep unless I held him. So he dozed in my arms for a couple of hours. Down at 11.30pm, up at 2, fed at 4.30 and up for the day at 7. Hoping that he has a big sleep this morning so I can have a sleep as well.
Nothing much else happening here. BBL
nickers - where did all that time go? i can just see you clutching your picture of your tiny boy at night. so sweet.
saffi - bleh on the carp night. we've been having the old 'i need a 4.20 cuddle' thing... and feeds... and this... and that... la de da... *crazy*
i hear your pain
Trish - bl**dy hell!! I'm glad no one was hurt! These are the things I've got to look forward to I guess LOL! I'll let you know if I decide to go with the Ergo. Mum and dad sold a block of land they owned up the coast, settled yesterday and they called to get my bank account details...hmmmm, methinks they might be sharing the love :loveshower: WOOT! So I might be buying one sooner rather than later...that's if I can stop myself spending it all on MCNs!! Oh yeah... and there's a credit card that could do with some attention but that's not as much fun!
Saffi/Viv - let's hope these boys of ours settle down soon!
We had a shocker here too. Giving the boy the benefit of the doubt because he isn't well, but to be honest, I don't think he's really that sick either :dunno:
Panadol doesn't seem to help, he is just as unsettled when I give it to him. He was pretty good the second half of the night so I'm not too tired. Have a feeling MIL is going to 'drop in' for a visit today. *Sigh* She's been away for a few weeks and probably wants to see the kids...better go have a shower I guess.
Hey all!
I hear everyone on the carp nights lately thing. Over the past 2 weeks I doubt there has been a night where I have had more than 2 hours of uninterrupted sleep from little miss C. It has been a shocker! I just hope that now things have settled down I can get her back into her routine and get her to sleep through most of the night again. We slept with her in our bed last night. she no longer wakes up having a little sook - its a scream! Scared the carp out of us the past couple of nights. and its not like it builds up......she wakes and SCREAMS. so scarey! She isnt in pain or cold or hot or without her dummy or anything like that - the poor things just screams. the first time she did it she screamed and then went back to sleep - a dream/nightmare maybe? But the last couple of times she has gone on for a while. It realyl freaks me out and I get really tense and I have a lot of trouble settling her.
I spoke to the lady at day care this morning re the possibility of a tooth - nope - doesnt look like it. But needles on Tuesday so will see the doc and he can make the definitive call.
anyway - had better head off and do some cleaning and moving caitlyn back into her room. Hope you are all having a great (even if quiet) day!
mwah
Hello everyone,
Haven't been near a computer much I'm suddenly exhausted for no reason when I'm not feeding or playing with Ryan I'm having cat naps with him or dozing on the floor next to him, had blood tests and theres 'no apparant physiological reason' as to why I've crashed but I haven't turned the laptop on in wks...
Ryan is doing well we've almost replaced a bottle with food & baby juice. Had his needles today, had the initial scream, then lots of cuddles with mum while he pouted and gave me "how could you" looks, then we had a bottle and we were back to laughing and playing with toys.
He's now 9.9kg, 70cm long with a 46cm noggin, dr said he's a perfectly healthy and solid little boy, he's not fat he's just solid all over. His breathings been worrying me but I took him to the hosp after a bit of a chocking episode and the dr today and they say it's just all his drool, reflux and a bit of a blocked nose that's causing it, guess I'm just a worry wart.
My loves to all the mums and bubs, Ryans been waking really early too but if you let him have a whinge and a sing he'll go back to sleep but for no more than an hour or so. Think daylight savings is stuffing him up a bit
I'm on my msn silver_moon_dragon11 @ hotmail.com if anyone wants to catch me I usually leave it running to get messages from people on the desktop
Can't promise I'll be back regularly but will try and pop in to say g'day from time to time, neways back to cuddles and play time with little man, got some flash cards I know he doesn't understand what's on them but gives me something to do instead of just passing him back the toys he pegs across the room lol
Sheesh Trish, glad that story ended well love. Boys eh?
Happy Birthday little Nixon! must seem like a long road Nic, bet you are proud of your little man.
Must have been something in the air, bad night here too, she's done well today though 3 1.5hr sleeps. Lets hope tonight is better.
Willow- love a bit of cash for no reason, get shopping girl!
Amber- hmmmmm love a d'lish.
NT- don't even get me started on the markup on US goods, it seems Aussies prices go up as exchange rate goes down, but when exchange rate is good, prices stay the same!!! Someone is ripping us Aussies off. It p1$$es me off. On top of that, US companies have started banning postage to Oz in some kind of support for their oerpriced Oz distributors. I have written a couple of letters to complain, they responded with a whole lot of garbage. Bah. i'm not the best when it comes to written english, as you probably notice! :p
Rebecca- Lu has woken screaming a couple of times,i thought night mare, i reckon she was being chased by a big hairy nipple with no milk in it!
My mum has been cooking up a storm, freezer full of food for next week, right on!
Fingers crossed this baby doesn't get the pox.
Ange - I keep the ergo in the pram too, so when she does crack it I can put her in there and use the pram to carry everything else
Trish - that sucks about the broken window.. glad noone got hurt. I just rang the MCHN this morning and made an appointment, couldnt get in till the 30th though. How did you go at the paed?
Viv and Willow - definitely get an ergo, they are fantastic!
Nic - glad to hear your big boy had a great birthday.
:cryinglaugh: :cryinglaugh: :cryinglaugh::
Lu has woken screaming a couple of times,i thought night mare, i reckon she was being chased by a big hairy nipple with no milk in it!
I see everyone has been in the same boat recently.
Another one with a bad night last night right here. He had his needles yesterday, but it's been whinge whinge whinge...CONSTANTLY (and that was even before his needles).
I have no idea what is going on with him. Took him to the doc and there is nothing she could find. I'm ready to leave him on the doorstep at someone elses house.
Viv I think I'm going to have to wait another little while to give Max the solids too. Whenever I feed it to him (and it's never much) he manages to find the milk from his feed before hand (at least an hour before) and hurk that up. He fully wretches too. I have no idea whether it's coz he just doesn't like what he's being given or if it's the texture or what. It's quite disheartening though.
Anyhoo, won't bother going on about myself! Take care everyone, hope everything gets better. (sorry for lack of personal attention!)
Trish how scary, glad no-one was hurt.
Talked Phil into buying me an Ergo for mother's day, Will buying it from you as-well Trish :)
Ange you crack me up.
Amber i love my D'lish, need to buy some more.
Rebecca-M screams in her sleep as-well
Nic-Happy 2nd b'day to Nixon, glad he had a good party.
Celtic-Glad Ryan's doing & hope you feel better soon
Hey all.
Thought Id pop in to say hi again. How is everyone. Sorry I have had a quick scan over the posts but will try and come back soon to do all the personals.
We are great here! Chels still being perfect. Still sleeping thru every night (I feel so sorry for those of you who are up all the time! - Medals needed!) She is rolling all over the place and attemppting to crawl. Her legs go great guns but she hasnt quite worked out how to get hew tummy of the floor yet! She definately finds a way to get around though. She is having 1 meal a day too - vegies at night. Loving it! Apart from being a bit clingier than Id like, she is pretty perfect!
Julia - Sorry your having probs with Max - I hope it gets better for you really soon!
Rebecca - It can be so scary when they do that middle-of-the-night scream hey? Chels has done it a few times - only ever for her dummy and it scares the crap outta me!
Trish - OMG! What a close call! Im so glad your all ok and Im sure Joel has learnt his lesson now too!
Saff - I have had Chels facing out for months. Half because I have a double pram most of the time for her and Liam, the other part becasue when I do have her in the single pram, she is too much of a sticky beak, and much prefers to see the world.
Anyway, hi to everyone else, hope to be back later. X
Morning everyone!
I decided to drop K's 10pm dream feed last night, the paediatrician asked why I was still giving it to him and I said I was nervous he'd wake up too early. It got me thinking though and I thought "what the heck". So I fed him at 7pm, put him to bed and he slept until 5:40am! Why didn't I give that feed up earlier ? Oh well, at least I can get a bit more sleep now.
The paediatrician couldn't find any obvious problems, but I had to take a poo sample (ewww) to the pathology for some tests in case he has a bug or something.
Hi Becky! Great to hear from you. I'm glad Chelsea is still going so well! I hear you on the clingy-ness.
Mo - Yay for getting an Ergo! You will love it ;). I have black with camel lining or indigo with green lining left, but if you want another colour let me know and I'll try get it in.
Julia - Sorry you had a bad night. It must be a clingy age, K is a shocker ATM.
Kellie - I always put the Ergo under the pram too, great for when they crack it!
Ange - Hope your eye is feeling a bit better today. Awesome your mum has cooked for you! My sister brought 3 meals over to me the other day, how I love her!
Celtic - Wow, Ryan is an awesome size! Well done to you!
Rebecca - Hope your nights settle back down for you soon.
Willow - How's L's cold? I hope you both recover quickly.
Saffi - I hope you had a better night last night.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Trish tough choice both colours are nice. Do you post them or would i have to pick it up?
WTG on K's sleep last night, hope he does it everyday for you now.
Becky glad Chelsea is doing well.
Mo - Post or pick up is fine! PM me when/if you want to go ahead and I'll look after you ;)
All I'm going to say is every 2 hours!!!!!!!! Lucky it is Saturday as DH took over and let me get a few hours sleep. Don't know what is going on or how to fix it. Trish - can you send me that info you have.
Our 4yo god-daughter is staying overnight, so that will be nice. She loves L so it will be nice for them to play together.
L has just started to roll from tummy to back.
BBL when I am feeling more human.
saffi - you're not alone: 11, 2.30, 4.20(scream), 5.00
Trish is postage expensive for it? Your so sweet can't wait to get it.
Hoping i can get it next week ;)
Saffi-Viv, Hope tonight is better for you both.
M had her photo's taken today, get the proofs in a week & then we can choose which ones' we like.
Had some taken of M in her cloth nappy she looked so cute, Can't wait to see what they look like.
Oooh, Mo - which one was she wearing?? Sounds cute!! Going to take L to get some done next week.
Trish - K is fast becoming a sleeping star!! No way would L be happy about me dropping his 10pm feed!
We had a better night last night, still fed frequently but much more settled with no waking between feeds. Day sleeps have been better too today so hoping he's on the mend and things will settle back into our normal pattern.
Hi everyone
We just gave Tahlia some rice cereal, and I think she really liked it. None of it got spat back at us, although she wasn't really opening her mouth that much, she was more licking it off the spoon. Think I might have made it too runny so we'll try again tomorrow with it a bit thicker
I am sorry to hear about all the bubs giving you grief at night-time. It must be the age huh? Im sure its likely to hit me when I least expect it. LOL
I am thinking abut starting MCN's but have NO idea where to start! Is it very expensive to get started too? Things are a bit tight here or the next couple of months so maybe I'll wait a little bit. Dunno! How many of you have bubs in MCN's ( I have always been to lazy til now - LOL)
Ryan was in cloth nappies they are the made up ones so they look like a nappy a pack of 10 cost $140, I got given them though. He was on them but they make his poo smell so bad I can't handle it and I can handle most stenches life throws at me. I went back to disposable while he had antibiotics because he was pooing all day every day and I've been too lazy to swap back but I'll have to soon hehe. Pilchers are pretty cheap, liners are cheap and useless, I washed them daily after soaking so found washing powder disappeared 10 times quicker.
Was up and down all night last night, I probably didn't need to be but he's been coughing so badly and his nose is blocked I went in and attacked him with some nose drops (which he HATED) about 4 times (they are just the saline drops) and picked him up when he had coughing fits to try and help him breath. Luckily he goes back to sleep straight away but unbroken sleep = vombie grr arg mummy. We've decided to wait till Monday (drs aren't open till then anyway) and if he still has his cough I'm video taping his attacks and taking them to the dr and saying "now you tell me this is just from a bit of reflux!!!". I'm so sick of taking him to doctors 4 times before they admit somethings wrong!!!
night coughing is also one of the signs of childhood asthma. you can tell your doctor that if he's run out of ideas.
I got told they won't diagnose asthma in kids until they are over the age of 1 so he has to cough his guts up 24/7 for the next 6 months before they'll do anything about it...
Going to see if I can get him into his paediatrician, probably be a while before I can get an appointment though..
ETA: Today he's started having lots and lots of snot though, maybe it's just another bug he's picked up from daycare? His nose was constantly blocked up last night nad today it's pouring, going to give him a warm bath in a minute in the big bath tub seeing DP is here to help and to steam him up a bit. Going to the chemist Monday to see how much humidifiers cost
Celtic - I believe there are two different types of humidifiers. I cant remember what they are all I know is that one of them harbours more bacteria than the other and can cause more harm than good in littlies. Sorry I cant be any more help but I am sure I read the info on this site. I got one for C when she was all blocked up and it works great - water in it lasts 10 hours so that does her all night. Mine only cost $80 so I was happy about that. I dont use it now cause her nose/chest is really good.
Good luck!
Willow she was wearing her purple GAD pocket with black baby legs, The photographer thought she looked adorable in it. She'd never seen a baby wearing a MCN to a photo session before.
Becky-There is a cloth forum on here that has a lot of great info on how to start :)
I've spent a bit of $$$'s on mine, but i think it's worth it.
Kellie yay for Tahlia liking rice cereal M still wont have a bar of it
Hi ladies, just a pop in to see how you are all going with feeding and sleep issues....i see some are still getting there.
We are going really well. Jasmine has 2 bottom teeth now, sleeping like a champ 12 hours a night. 4 naps a day each of about 60-90 minutes. Not rolling a great deal yet. She to busy sitting back watching big sis entertain her! not on solids still....dont see a need to start them yet. Growing happy and healthy on just milk. Measured her and now 71cm (Chelsea is 76cm) and around 9.3kg....2kg short of Chelsea at 11.3kg. Still wont take the dummy and its a godsend! Settles beautifully and no problems, loves bed...especially at night!
We are off to NSW next Friday for 4 days to vist the IL's and Craigs uncle and cousins are flying in from USA. Will be Jasmines first flight. Really looking forward to it, getting away from Melbourne and the surroundings!
Other then that not much to report on. i pop in when i have a little bit of news..you all chat to much for me to keep up on the rare drop in's.....so a all rounder hello and hope everyone is doing great with their babies that are pretty much all 6 months old or close too!
Bec as you know i do MCN! Chat to you soon :D
Saffi- we had 5 nights in a row waking 2 hourly last week when she was getting teeth. Things have improved a little, so don't worry it wont last! But make sure you rest up when you can or ya might get a scabby face too! :p
Mo- How's ya sis? Can't wait to see the pics of maddi
Becky- MCN can be expensive to start with but it saves a bit of cash in the end. You can gets lots of info in the cloth nappy section in here.
I know i shouldn't say it out loud or type it, but i'll take my chances....we had a good night last night. 7pm feed at 1am 7 am wake up! Lets hope tonight is the same.
Call me crusty face...........
Awww Ange hope it clears up soon for you, hopefully once your all better maybe we can have a Melb meet-up :)
My Sis is home now with strict orders to rest, so hopefully she can go full term now.
Kim- Nice to hear how your girls are going.
M is still toothless & she's the oldest one here lol
ETA-M broke my mobile, not sure how she got it but i walked in on her throwing a hissy fit with my mobile lol.
The joys of having kids
Evening All,
Hope you are all doing well. Ethan still has a shocker of a cold. If he is not better by Monday we will go to the doc.
We have decided to get rid of the wrap once and for all. When E is better we are going to put him in sleeping bags. We have tried once before and he just wouldn't sleep for more than one sleep cycle. I guess that if we pursevere he will eventually get the pictrue.
Kim - glad to hear that you are getting lots of sleep. Have a great trip :)
Hi all
Had a good day today. We went to Target and got heaps of toys for L. We got one of those activity tables that they sit in and a few Fisher Price toys too. Don't know about L but we were so bored with all his toys LOL.
Kim - great to hear from you and hear that all is going really well with you and the girls. Have fun back home and hope Jasmine copes with her first flight. L has been on 4 flights so far and done really well. The secret is preparation.
Alz/Willow/Celtic - sorry to hear that your bubs are sick. Hope they get better soon. Thinking that L may have a bit of a cold too. He is sniffly and seems to have a bit of crustiness around his nose. Maybe that's why he slept so poorly.
Ange - don't think L is teething anymore, but you never know. Yeah, don't want to have shingles again. Hope you're taking your own advice and resting.
Got our god daughter with us tonight. At 4 she is so grown up. We took in L's night lite that is a bear that changes colours and she says "that is so cool". I couldn't believe it. Can't wait until L gets to that age.
Anyway, suspect that tonight I'll be up not only to the boy but also to the girl. Oh well.
More tomorrow.
well we survived Nixon's birthday party! the rain held off for us which i so wasnt expecting.
Nixon was a lolly monster, every time you tried taking him away from lollies to do something he viced his opinion!
got some nice pressies and pic's, uploading on facebook now.
Tyron's cutting tooth 3 up the top, considering he had been pretty good most nights.
so he's been having some solids for about a week now. Hated farex and even hated it mixed it with something else.
He has tried, apple, pumkin and potato. still 1 feed a day and managing about 2 teaspoons. cant say he's been pverly keen on the whole food idea though, but he likes shoving the spoon in his gob!
saffi- how did the sleepover with your god daughter go?
ha Saffi- i have a psychadelic bear too!
Wow Nic a 3rd tooth, i had no idea the could just keep coming like that. i was hoping for a bit of a teething break..........
Hot cha-cha
Sorry girls a bit of a selfish post but..........
:hooray:Myles is crawling properly!!!!!!!:hooray:
We are sooo excited!!!!!! He will be harder to catch now!!!!
Hope you and your gorgeous bubs are well! xxxxxxx
lol Amber! GO MYLES!
Lu has it mastered too, she gets into everything. i love it when she stops, rolls on her side, one leg straight, the other bent and crossed over the front, and grabs hold of her knee with her hand like some fashion model. Cracks me up! I have seen a few crawling bubs strike that pose.
What are you doing on the pc when SYTYCD is on anyway! :p
Go Lu!!!! jumping on in the ads hahaha! multi tasking!!!! Hope your eye is getting better! xx
way to go Myles & Luella!! you keen little bunnies you
WTG Myles and Lu on mastering crawling. No looking back now.
Congrats to Ty on the 3rd tooth
Nic - had a good night with our goddaughter. She was a little anxious getting to sleep but I read her some stories and sat with her until she fell asleep. Then turned around and did the same thing with the little boy. We all watched Ice Age 2 this morning before taking her home. It was fun but I was so tired by the end of the day.
L tried out his new toys properly today. His favourite toy is the teether book. Already has been slobbered on heaps. His activity centre is so cool.
Oh well another weekend draws to a close. Hope you all had a good time.
Be back in the morning.
I already congratulated Lu on crawling but WTG Lu & Myles :)
Congrats Ty on your 3rd tooth.
