Mo- how could madi resist pulling the reverse mullet??? Usually it's the guni poking eyes and biting toes, good for her to get a dose of her own medicine!
So Lu is sleeping 12 hours, is EC trained, says the Dad, Dog, Cat, the alphabet and wake up you're dreaming mum! Ha i wish. Sleepless nights have not been for nothing though, we have a top tooth and another on the way.
Got the pull up going on here too. Look out girls Big J is catching up! Crawling and pulling up in one week Viv? advanced for sure! ;) I think that weight bearing, bow leg thing is another ye ol' wives tale.
Claire- we have had shocking nights here too. Been feeling like a walking zombie! i sympathise.
Sorry Mo! I turned up at about 3-ish. I couldn't go in the morning because I was dealing with a sick Joel and a lack of sleep. After my nanna-nap I felt much more human!
Bummer I didn't get to meet you IRL Ange! I would have loved to have met the infamous Falguni. Hopefully we'll meet one of these days! Yay for Lu popping another tooth! I hope her nights settle down for you soon.
Claire - The BB centre looked really nice. Not very pram friendly though! It was created as a supportive place for pg women and mums. It will have resources to educate and also has natural therapists available. You can read more about it here: https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...ouncement.html. Wow at Harry kinda-walking! He is so clever! I hope you get a better night tonight.
Viv - Thanks for the pull-up description. Doesn't work on K! He just doesn't seem keen to do anything apart from roll to his side or from his tummy to his back. Such a lazy man! He much prefers to be carted around. Don't feel too bad about James bumping his head, it will happen heaps more yet! Joel used to permanently go around with bruises on his forehead. I have so many photos of him with a purple mark on his head!
Nic - Nixon sounds so cute! It's such a fun age. I hope your tradies get everything done in time for you!
Willow - Sorry you guys are all sick, it's that time of year sadly. I hope you all feel better soon.
Joel's much better today. Still not eating much, DH tried to get him to have some more dinner and he ended up throwing it up. I think his tummy is still settling. I think I got a mild dose of whatever Joel had because my tummy has felt odd all day and I don't have much of an appetite. Still tired from the other night too so think I will go to bed early tonight :asleep:.
Geezaloo, just took me 45 mins to get the little man to sleep! His cold has hit him harder today, lucky I still love him to bits, even with bright green snot dripping out of his nose!! LOL.
I'm better now, DD is a lot better today so hopefully he'll be better too in the next day or so (he was the last to cop it).
Question for the big boys (James, Tyron, Max - think that's all the heavy weights?) what size clothes are they in now? Don't know whether i should bother buying him 00s or just skip straight to 0s. He needs some more bonds suits for pjs n stuff...
Willow Max is in 0 bonds but can fit 00 in some other clothes. He isn't long but chunky!
We have had a good day today, apart from someone deciding to have their tree's lopped at Max's nap time! Good thing he'd been down 2 hours already.
He's back to whinging though...not cool. Also, hates other kids squeeling...he cries like a girl! Such a Mummy's boy... Trish I bet he could rival K on the Velcro effect!
Goodnight all
Julia .... Awwww look at your ticker pic! Sooooo cute!
Willow - Chels has only JUST hit the 8kg, but Im starting to buy her 0 stuff now too. She still fits 00 but I cant imagine it is going to be for too much longer - she is long too. May as well put her in 0 and its a little big but saves wasting too much money on clothes she'll only wear for a few weeks.
Hmmmm.... not a lot to report here. Chels is joining the pig clan! She eats so much lately. Luckily, she is not really fussy and will eat anything I give her! Starting her on chicken tomorrow too! Yay for her!
Nighty night all.
Willow - Definitely buy size 0 at least in Bonds, they are always a size too small. K isn't as heavy as some of the others, but he hovers from a 00 - 0 depending on the brand. I don't buy 00's any more because I reckon he won't fit in them for much longer. He wore a 0 top the other day that Joel wore on his first birthday!
Julia - It's frustrating when they whinge all the time isn't it? K had a terrible clingy day yesterday, I could hardly get anything done. I'm pretty sure he is teething though so hopefully that's all it is.
Becky - That's great the Chelsea is a good eater, it makes life so much easier! I haven't thought about trying K on meat yet, I suppose I should soon. Let us know how Chelsea goes with chicken!
K is really rashy atm, I noticed during his bath last night that he has red dots all over his torso and behind his knees and under his chin. His cheeks have spots too. I'm not sure if this is a reaction to something he's eaten. The only different food he's tried lately is carrot, I have no idea if it could cause a reaction like that though. Not sure what to do with him, I hate wasting my time with GPs that have no idea!
Trish That exact same rash came up on a friends baby. She took him to the doc and they said it was the end of a virus....could be the same? Maybe that is why he's sticking to you like glue!
Becky THANKS! Lucky he is cute I tell ya!
Excited...got mothers group today then off out with another friend. DH gets back home tonight after more than a week by myself! YAY!
BBL
Funny you should say that Julia! He has been unwell with chucking and a snuffly nose for a couple of weeks. I only saw the rash yesterday and today he is a new baby! He has been happy and I didn't have to lug him around once while he was awake this morning! I really really hope he stays this way :crossfingers:.
Trish no need to be sorry, glad Joel is feeling better :)
Ange i think M was jealous of Lu's reverse mullet, that's why she grabbed it every chance!
Still feel bad for poor Lu, My daughter is a big bully lol
Stop feeling bad..........NOW! ;) Seriously, it is usually the other way around Mo! Reverse mullet is pretty cool, ya can hardly blame her! :p
Trish, i heard somewhere that babies can be allergic to something in carrots...... but can't remember specifics, sorry! hope it's just end of virus.
Ok Ok i'll stop feeling bad, but when we meet-up again M is wearing mittens :p
trish - it could be carrot. jj had an under-chin rash the day before yesterday (after two days of carrot). i skipped a day and tried him again today. i'll watch for more rash. the only thing that makes me think it's not carrot is that under chin and behind knees are heat areas... so maybe with being sick there's been fever and sweating?
what about laundry powders and bath stuff? any change?
Hmm...maybe it could be the carrots? I haven't changed our laundry powder and I only bathe him with water and a wash cloth (except his hair which I wash every couple of days with Gaia shampoo, but I have been using that forever too). I hope it's just the tail end of a virus, but I'll stop giving him carrots and reintroduce them later and see what happens.
I gave him Rafferty's organic porridge this morning and after his nap he kept chucking up, heaps. I wonder if his body didn't like that either? :dunno:
i'll be honest, he did get a bit more chucky after carrot, after pretty much stopping the chuck thing altogether.... hmmm... :detective:
Good afternoon everyone!!
Its been ages since I have had a chance to check in and say hi!! I have returned to almost full time work now (34 a week) and its hectic at work and at home!
Anyway - to all the milestones and anniversaries and all the other fun stuff that I have missed - CONGRATS TO MUMS AND BUBS!! :cheer:
It has pretty much been easy going here. Caitlyn is sitting up all by herself and only falling backwards when we walk past her into another room and she tries to follow us.
Solids all the way - down to 3 - 4 bottles a day and only one wake up at night and most times she doesnt even want a bottle then - just a hello call I think. Is loving all that we can get into her mouth. Potato, pumpkin, squash, zucchini, carrot, sweet potato, apples, pear, watermelon, rockmelon, honeydew melon. The list goes on. We were eating weetbix for breakfast but have now changed that to the Rafferty's organic porridge and we add a litle apple for taste.
Still no go on the water. She loves her cup though. We took the one way valve out of it cause she had to suck so hard to get anything out and was getting so frustrated because the teat thing was shaped differently. So now she tips it up, stuff comes out, she spits it back out. Although I must admit that some does get down!
Daycare is going great - but I think she is starting to realise that I am leaving and she has a hissy fit! But as soon as I shut the door - she stops and is all giggly.
She is sooooo very talkative! Chats to herself in the cot all night I reckon.
I can't belive that I have missed so much - I have been really slack on checking things!
Anyway - had best get back to work - I am sorry this is such a me/us post - will try and do some catch up reading shortly!!
MWAH
Wow - I need to update my ticker!!!
Hey all.
Trish - I'll let ya know. Gona try it tonight! YAY.
Rebecca - Welcome back. How is your boss coping? Are they getting there now?
Its our 4 year anniversary tomorrow. Mum and Dad have offered to have both kids for a night on the weekend so we can do something but.... I dont know..... I havent been away from Chels for a night yet and I think we'll miss them too much. Must admit though, would be nice for a sleep in. Hmmmmm.....
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all doing well and are getting lots of sleep.
I have another question for you. Regarding solids. We really want to get Ethan to eat home cooked food as it is better for him and cheaper. Have tried potato, pumpkin, sweet potato and carrot but he doesn't want any of them. He will eat these in jars. What do I do? Do I just give him the jars and have a happy baby or do I keep going?
E had some toast this morning. I gave him the crust cut up into finger. He loved it. He ripped off pieces with his gums and then sucked and munched until it disintegrated. He started to choke on a bit but I was there to help so no worries.
Hope you all have a great night.
